Speaker 1 (00:10):
Hey, I'm Delaney and.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
This is all caps. I'm not gonna do that. I'm Sydney.
I'm back from having a baby. The baby was born.
He is here. He it's two and a half months old, yay.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
And he's hungry and maybe being fed, maybe done being fed.
I don't know how babies work.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Yay. He needs slow sometimes these fast sometimes he really
depends on his mood.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
What a guy. And this is book called today I'm
gonna be telling Sydney about his country Girl by Jillian Hart.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yeah, a book I bought you and don't remember doing so. Yeah,
to celebrate our reunion, me being back, most importantly, and
this child's surviving heart surgery. Not my child, fake child.
My child had no surgeries that I know of. I
assume I would have been told.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
I hope he's like, actually, mom, I went and got
some light bul really quick.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
He is pretty thin, but long. He's a tall guy.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
He cheeks done. He wants more more cheeks. He doesn't
have enough.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
His face is the chuckiest part of him. His weight
shows in his face. That is where he gains weight.
He has lots of chins and lots of cheeks.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
As he should. Anyways, what are you drinking?

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Said, I'm drinking a canda dry Gingerreo who's joined six,
So I bought some gingerreo. It's sugar free because that's
what they had.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
It'd be like that sometimes I'm drinking strawberry crystal like
because of course I am. It's a classic. Okay, okay,
So for fun facts for these, I've just been doing
the messages you wrote me on the inside of them.
So this one is from twenty twenty. I think it's
really funny. Here's what you said, dearest de lady. I
hope this book is more enjoyable to read than a

(01:50):
Trump rally. HI hopes, I know, but a cowboy and
a sick kid has to be great. Merry COVID Christmas.
And here's to a probably worse twenty twenty one. Fuck
the government, Time to guillotine love Sydney. And you said
happy holidays at the top, but we put a Z
on the holidays, so you're feeling really monkey fresh. I guess.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah. I had no recollection of writing that don't remember
anything I write, so.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I'm a right, that's the best part. Yeah, So if
y'all haven't caught on, this is about there's like a
sick child as a plot point this book. Also, you're
gonna love it, Sydney. It's quote unquote inspirational. It's an
inspirational romance. So there's Jesus and God.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Oh yes, good, good good. I'm glad I'm on the
God episode.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
I don't think I mentioned every time they pray. It's
not like it's not like a crazy amount. I guess
I think I counted, and it's like maybe ten prayers
in this book. But it's also more prayers than any
other book I've read. So like, whatever, Jesus be here
in this episode tonight. So let's get into it. So

(02:59):
our our mom of the episode, her name is Sierra.
She is in the hospital because her son needs heart surgery.
Her son is named Owen. He is six. He's having
a surgery the next day. But today a rodeo star
named Tucker Granger is coming to No, not that name.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
The name secks Tucker Granger, who names you Charlie and
Hart And that one's.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Just too Apparently this is the fourth in this series,
the Granger Family ranch series.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Naturally, I only buy ones in the middle of series.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Yeah, there was maybe some plot I missed and there
was things I was I thought we were unnecessary, and
I was like, why is this happening? But I guess
it makes sense if there's three other whatever. We'll get
into that. I guess. Yeah, our love interest is named
Tucker Granger, so get excited for that. He's visiting for
like a make a Wish type thing for this kid,
so like whatever, but he's I don't know, it seems

(03:57):
a little late, but whatever. Sierra is anxious about this
because she has known Tucker since she was like a kid,
and like he used to like pull on her braids
and stuff in elementary school. So she's like, uh, this
guy again.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I'm sure he has changed since elementary school at least
I hope.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Okay, you're We're not done with her backstory, Sydney. She
doesn't trust cowboys, Okay, okay, okay, because Owen's dad, Ricky,
he was a rodeo cowboy too, and he abandoned Owen
and Sierra one day because he just decided having a
family was like too much and he wasn't actually ready
to settle down even though they'd been married for like
five years, but like he want to do new rodeo stuff,

(04:37):
so he just got up and left. And let me
tell you something. That dad not in this book. He
never shows up for.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
His kids, you know, having heart surgery.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
He doesn't give a shit.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
That's a little that's a little much. That's why get married.
I mean, I know, apparently this is a Christian book
and they were probably like, they can't be not married.
But like, in reality, this guy would not have gotten married.
He would and then been like ooh.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
It really it didn't make much sense. But yeah he's
gone now. She doesn't trust cowboys. Blah blah blah. Also,
this takes place in Wyoming, if anyone wondered, Oh whatever,
Wyoming is the least populated state in America.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
In case you're wondering, their capital is Schyanne.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Facts. There's a bitch named Shan in this book. Not
really she there's one sentence about her, but.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
There you can probably the rest of them.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
It's all connected. Anyways. Owen's dad never comes back. Yep,
that's fine, Sierra. She's fine being a single mom. She
works as a waitress at a diner, and we all
know how well that pays, so obviously she's totally fine.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
I am imagining all is taking place at your Yellowstone,
and I imagine she works in Yellowstone and that is
where she's getting paid tourist tips.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
She's at the Yellowstone Diner.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
That is exactly what I'm picturing.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Let's do it. I don't know the name.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
It looks like a drunk start, so.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
I could see that. It seems very small town. But
also at one point there's like a farm with like
hundreds of thousands of acres, So I guess I don't
know how Wyoming works, but.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
What everyone owns one hundred thousand acres. That's normal people,
and they have too many acres to give too many
everyone needs a lot of them.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Small town life. Whatever. Yeah, she's poor obviously. But Tucker
shows up and she's like giving him a rundown on
how he's not allowed to bring up Owen's dad or
like get him excited because you know he's about to
have heart surgery so he needs to be like calm.
I guess I don't know, yea, So she's a cowboys
coming to meet him, which seems pretty excitable, but whatever.

(06:39):
So they go in there. Owen is fucking floored by
meeting his hero, Like he's obsessed with the rodeo. So
he's like, oh my god, Tucker, I know everything about you.
I've watched all your rodeo things. Also, I never bring
this up, I don't think. But Tucker is like he's
like out of the rodeo game right now because his
last like rodeo thing, he he was on a horse

(07:01):
I think, and got bucked off or something and like
broke his leg. And so he's been in like physical
therapy for a really long time and he's like not on.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
A cowboy.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Pretty embarrassing, honestly, but whatever. I don't know how the
rodeo works, but whatever, Tucker is like good with this child.
I guess he gives him like a toy of his
horse and of a bull that he fought once or wrangled,
I don't know whatever. The bull's name is Slasher. Okay,

(07:32):
it's Slayer Slasher. That's sick, that'd be iconic. It's Flair
there is.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Pretty cool, not as Slasher, not as good.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
And that he does I kind of like he goes
he tells the kid because the kid's like ooh, the
bull boh, and he's and he tells the kid like, hey,
the bull's not bad. He was just doing his job.
His job is to like try and main mean, but
like he's a really nice bull outside of the ring,
and I'm like, yeah, that's good.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
But I would have been like, oh, you're fighting a bull,
and I kind of rude to the bowl his life
is getting fat.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
No, the kid is like the bull is mean obviously,
and he's like yeah basically. Anyways, so the kid has
toys now and yeay, and then they make Sierra leave
so that they can have secret cowboy talks with just
the boys, and she's.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Like leaving the room with my kids having heart surgery.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Right, She's like mmm, And but she does leave because
Tucker's like, maybe you should like take a nap because
she's obviously been awake for like ever, and she's like,
I'm gonna have a phone call. So she goes out
of the room and calls her mom because like her
mom is supposed to show up for this surgery, right,
She's like flying out. I think the surgery is in
a different area than where. I was confused about this

(08:44):
because later on her mom is like driving to her house,
so I was like, did your mom live here? I
don't know. Maybe they flew to a different time for
the surgery. I don't fucking know. Anyways, it's winter. It's
February January. That's when it is as Valentine's Day happens
at a certain point. So there's snow in Wyoming. I

(09:04):
guess it's north. So she's calling her mom and her
mom is like, yeah, so all the flights have been
canceled because of the storm. But like, I'll drive, like
it'll it'll be fine, and Sierra is like, please do
not do that. Actually, like I have enough to worry
about with my son going through heart surgery. Like stay

(09:25):
where you are. I will call and give you updates.
And her mom is like, Okay, how's that cowboy thing
going on, because she knows about Tucker and she's like, hey,
he's single. You should get with that cowboy. And Sierra
is like, I already tried to wrangle a cowboy and
we all saw how that worked out. And her mom's like, okay, whatever.
So they hang up, and then Sierra has a little
prayer about the surgery, you know, as you do reasonable.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Yeah that makes sense. I'm not really just my bad
consider it. Yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
So then she goes back to join the boys in
the cowboy talk and they I let her come back
in after she promises to keep the secrets of cowboys,
I guess, and then she falls asleep as Tucker is
talking about like how to talk to animals, because he's like,
I can talk to animals, no, and Owen, it's like
what He's like, Yeah, you just have to like be
calm and then talk to the animal.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Basically, I guess you could talk about them understand their response.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
But I guess. And then like they call they say
bronx a lot instead of broncos, so like that's our
cowboy sling of the week is BRONC. And I was like,
just like one letter, but okay, I.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Guess we couldn't handle it.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
I think I had a BRONC count when I was
reading this book, and there's like four different mentions of BRONC,
and I was a little disappointed there wasn't more bronx.
But okay. Anyways, Tucker's talking about how when he was
a kid, he his cowboy journey started when his dad
put him on a sheep, you know, like mutton wrangling.
I don't know if you've ever seen that. I watched
it once. It's fucking hilarious. They stick children on the

(11:02):
back of the sheep and then they hold on and
the sheep just runs and then fall off and it's
really funny. So that's how Tucker started, and Owen is like,
I want to do that once I'm healed up. And
then Sierra wakes up and Tucker is like, hey, I
bought a pizza, and she's like pizza because her son
doesn't usually get to eat pizza because it's unhealthy, YadA YadA.

(11:24):
But Tucker is a heart condition.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
So I'd be like, he eats only salmon and veggies
and veggies.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
He's very healthy. Actually, he has a bad hurt.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
He has to be around he'll die.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Not today, He's getting fucking pizza. She lets the biggest slice.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
The doctor has them okay, and then.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
They pray about it because you know, you can't eat
with that praying. This is the only time that they
eat a meal, I'm pretty sure, but they make sure
to say a prayer before him.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Him yikes.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Yeah. So then whatever they're hanging out, oh and not
having a dad comes up. But Tucker is like, hey,
my mom left my family when I was young and
it sucked, but my dad was great and he stepped up,
and I know you have a great mom, so like
you're fine, and Ione's like, damn, you're right, my mom cool.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
I know he met my dad was saying, my dad's
actually he don't have a dad, but my dad is great.
I have a great dad.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
So that's not like exactly how it goes, but like
he's fading up more of like your mom's really great.
I didn't have a mom, but like, yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
I mean I knew, like he's going, yeah, you go
have a dad. I have a great dad.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
So yeah. Well, Also Tucker's story, I mean, it's a
little more traumatic than Owens because Tucker also has like
three siblings or some shit. So he's like, yeah, my
mom just up and left her entire family one day,
and no one's like my dad laughed, and it's like
shut up, Owen, no one cares. Whatever. They bond, Okay,

(12:57):
they're besties, Okay, Sydney. And then Tucker like has to
leave or whatever. So Owen can go to bed, and
Tucker's like, hey, call me when you get out of surgery, Owen,
let me know.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
How you go.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
How it goes, and Owen's like, oh my god, yeah, bestie, totally.
He loves this. So whatever, he leaves, thinking like Oh
my god, do I like Sierra? Like that's what Tucker's thinking.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
He's like farely interacted, in my opinion, did they even talk?

Speaker 1 (13:23):
So wait, just wait till the end of those book
sending me You're gonna lose your mind. Yeah. Whatever. So
he's all like, do I like Sierra? And Sierra's like
Tucker really likes Oh. Like, that's dangerous because I like
Tucker too much and if he gets along with my kid,
then I'm gonna like him more. And I can't get
with another man, obviously, So that's happening. The next day,

(13:49):
Owen's in surgery whatever. She's waiting. She's trying to call
her mom and she is not answering the phone, so
she's saying a little prayer, as you do. When Tucker
shows up with a bunch of coffe He brought like
three different coffees and he's like, I didn't know what
kind of you like, So I got three different kinds
and she's like, okay, and she takes one. I think
it's a latte.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
If you can, I accept it. Now she like him.
That's great, although I feel like, first of all, if
none of these have sew milk, I'm drinking.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
None of them kids, I'm gonna throw them all on
the floor. Tecker.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Thanks, she asked me she'd ask for more specifics, but.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Yeah, Well he gets her one that she apparently likes,
so he's fine. And then they're like talking about the
weather and like because she's like, oh, you brave the winter,
and he's like, I'm a cowboy, I'm not scared at
of weather. And then here's here's one of these plot
points that I guess is a big part of the
other books. He starts talking about, oh, yeah, the last

(14:44):
time I was in the hospital or like, well, the
last time he was in the hospital was because of
his leg, but like the time before that was because
his fucking sister got shot by a cattle bandit he
shot right, yeah, and like almost died. But like she's
fine now, and it's like, what it's just this like
casual line that I'm like this that's like like.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
The first book or something. Yeah, right, it's like a
big deal.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Yeah, because I think that bitch is like engaged now.
So it's like her wedding is kind of in the
background of this one, but just the planning of it,
not the actual wedding whatever. So like yeah, that gets
dropped in and I'm like what okay, and then Tucker
is like, hey, why'd you get divorced? Like why did
your marriage end? What happened with that? And she's like oh, okay,

(15:30):
we're just doing that okay, and she's like, yeah, he
decided he didn't want to be a family man anymore.
And then just like left, and Tucker is like, oh,
he's dumb. I may not be ready for like a relationship,
but I'll sit with you as long as you need.
Because like everyone knows that Tucker is one of those
like can't be dead down types.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
So yeah, girl, he ain't available, don't get with him.
He just it doesn't matter that he's a cowboy. He's
a guy who is not wanting to be in a
relationship man.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
And she knows that now she's like, I'm not making
that mistake again. I tried to cowboy, that's it.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Yeah, this man just said don't go with me.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
And so they're sitting there whatever, and then her mom
shows up and she's like, hey, I stayed all night
at the airport and got the first flight out.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
What up?

Speaker 1 (16:16):
And so Tucker is like, oh, I know when I'm
not needed and so he just bails.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
Oh yeah, awkward if he stays a little.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Awkward, yeah, And her mom is like, oh my god,
what a nice cowboy. He checked in on you guys
the next day and brought you coffee. And Sierra's like, mom,
don't read into it. Oh my god. Whatever. So Tucker
goes back to his hotel to pack up and go
back to wherever the fuck I don't know, and he

(16:43):
calls his dad and his dad is like, oh my god,
I'm going to drive to the airport and pick you up.
I'm so excited. Oh my god. And he's like yeah,
and he's like, yeah, I was. I was just like,
you know, I went well. Dad knows about the the kid, Owen,
and so he's like, how did that go, And he's like, yeah,
he was doing great, and he tells him everything they
did the day before, and he's like, he's in surgery
right now, Siah's supposed to call me. And then he's

(17:05):
like and then they're like they both pray for Owen.
They're like, gotta pray for that kid. You know, everyone's
praying for that kid and whatever. Cute nice, I guess.
And then he's like, oh, Sierra's calling me gotta go,
And so then Siara is like, hey, Owen's out of
surgery doing great, and Tucker's like, great, are you ready
for him to be a cowboy since he's like into
all that shit that I talked about, And Siarah's like,

(17:27):
if that's what makes him happy, yes.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
So I mean, I guess you have to say that,
but I'd be like, he literally just had his art
like chest opened up and his heart messed with. He's
not ready to do shit.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
It's basically insinuated that once he gets better, he's gonna
be a He's gonna like come over to Techer's dad's
house and learn how to write a sheep or whatever.
He's gonna get cowboy lessons essentially once he's healed, which
I'm like, how long did that take to heal? That
seems like a long time.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
It has to be a long time unless it's like
a really chill heart surgery. But I'm assuming it's open
heart surgery.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
You know, I'm pretty sure they said, and I don't
remember because I don't care, but whatever doesn't matter. So
Tucker gets home to wherever that is and his family
basically makes fun of him for liking Sierra and they're like, oh,
are you gonna get with her? And he's like, no,
I can't set it down. I'm a cowboy. And then

(18:20):
he gets a call and he's like, oh my god,
it's Sira. So he's like runs out of the room,
but it's actually Owen, and Owen is like, hey, I'm
out of surgery. I'm doing great. I can't wait to
learn to be a cowboy. And Tucker's like, I fucking
knew you'd do great, kid, I told you whatever. So
then I don't know how much time has gone by,

(18:41):
but Siarra is at her house. She owns a house
by the way. However poor she is, she owns a house,
so I was like.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Maybe she got in. You know, maybe I'm hoping he
pays child support.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
You know, it doesn't really say it doesn't. I don't
know if he does. I don't think she took him
to court for that. I think she's just like she should.
She should because he's like a rodeo star, so I
imagine he could probably help her out a lot, but
I don't think she does. But a bunch of people
from town are coming over to bring her food and like,
check on Owen and stuff. So she's like, I have

(19:16):
so much support and like family whatever, everything's not as
bad as it could be. Basically, she's grateful. Later, she's
at work at the diner, working and Tucker comes in
with his dad and his brother. I don't know how
many siblings this guy has, honestly, because I thought there
was like one brother and one sister, but then I

(19:37):
think there's two sisters, and I'm like, is there a
second brother? Don't know, don't care. But he's there with
one of his brothers. Don't know his name, don't care.
That brother is married though, so whatever. But Tucker and
his dad are both single because his dad has not
found a woman since his wife left him twenty fucking

(19:58):
years ago or whatever.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Oh, I know, it's just not how it's ending. So
this dad, this is the best book I.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Ever That would be so hot, honestly, and I wish
that's what happened, but it's not.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
That I would have been the best thing it for
this author to do. Make it like everything the same,
but in the very oh, actually i'm with your dad.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Tucker's like, I love you, and she's like awkward, So, yeah,
your dad something to tell you. Yeah, So Tucker and
his dad though they're both single and really hot, so
like all the ladies in town are obsessed with them,
Like all the old ladies are trying to get with
his dad. His dad's name is Frank, which is I

(20:37):
guess whatever hot Frank. That doesn't sound accurate, but whatever.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
So Sierra.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
They sit in Sierra's section, so she's like going to
take their order and like try not to look at
Tucker because she's like, I like him and I can't
look at him. It's so awkward. Oh my god, it's weird.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Or if she avoids looking at.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Him, yeah, And he's like, what are the specials? And
she like tells him and he orders like chicken and
dumplings or some shit I don't care. And then he's like,
how's Owen doing And she immediately perks up and is like, oh,
he's doing well, blah blah. You know, she can talk
about her kid, that's not awkward. And then Frank is like, hey,
like we can't wait for that kid to like get
mutton wrestling, you know, like Tucker told me and like

(21:18):
we were thinking that, like, uh, he can go on
a ride on Tucker's horse with Frank. The Grandpa because
like Tucker can't ride horses yet because he's still injured.
They're like, he can go on a he can ride
the horse with Frank and like learn about the animals
and stuff before he actually does the mutton wrestling thing,
and then he can like learn about the farm and stuff.

(21:40):
And uh, Sierra's really into this idea because previously it
was just like Tucker being like, come to my house
and like have your kid ride a sheep, and she
was like, I don't know about that. But now his
whole family is involved, and she's like, this isn't this
doesn't feel like a date type thing anymore. So she's like,
I'm okay with this because it's not just like Tucker
trying to summer.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
He's getting asked too.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
It's a yeah, it's kind of like a big deal
but in whatever, but I guess is that small town life.
I don't fucking know. But basically, since his whole family's
in fulve, she doesn't have to worry about falling in
love and being singled out. So she gets home that
night and Owen greets her and like, here's here's why
I was confused. Her mom is like, is like babysitting

(22:26):
Owen while she's at work, So I was like, does
your mom It seems like her mom lives in the
same town as her. But then the beginning with her
mom like flying out and stuff like, I don't know,
maybe it.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Would make sense to the hospital, like since it's a
major surgery, if she had to go like the city,
and they would have this small town that's what it is,
So she probably had to go to like whatever the
fuck city there is in Wyoming and then.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
And it might be mentioned in the beginning, and I
just didn't pay attention because that sounds like me. But whatever,
You're probably right, because yeah, she gets home and her
mom had been like cooking or something, and Owen is like,
oh my god, Mom, I just got off the phone
with Tucker. We're best friends. And she's like, you better
not be bothering that man. And he's like, no, Tucker

(23:10):
wants to know how I'm doing, So like it's fine.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
I too, be like, let's stop calling the guy. You
know he visited once, but like.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Maybe don't bother Well, yeah, he's like calling Tucker on
a daily basis, but whatever.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
And if the guy's calling him, I'd be like, now,
why is this girl man calling by?

Speaker 1 (23:30):
It's a fine line. It is a fine line, but
apparently it's cool right now, she puts on in to bed,
they pray, he goes to sleep. Whatever. Cut to some
bitch named Katie. This is one of those things where
I was like why why? This is just we need
another romance in this book. And apparently, according to the reviews,
this is something that's been building in the previous books.

(23:51):
But I didn't know that, so I was just like what,
because this is just some middle aged lady who bought
a horse in her old age because she always wanted
a horse, and like we learned later, she she used
to be like an attorney in New York, so she
was like, very.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
It's classic brom com and then moves to the country
gets so horse lives out of her country dreams, even
though she had a dope ass life in the sitting probably.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Yeah, and now she's going to her farm life. Okay, yeah,
so you get it. And so she's been boarding her
horse at the Granger farm. I guess until like her
place is finished because she's like building an inn or something.
It's like a B and B brend and Breakfast type
deal and like she has her own stable there, but
it's like it wasn't ready yet, so her horse is

(24:43):
going to be moved there eventually. And so then Frank
comes up because this is his house or whatever, and
they have a lot of sparks, and she's like, oh
my god, the hot old man is talking to me.
The hot single guy. I guess he's not old to her.
They're like the same age. But she's like every woman
in town's in love with this man and I'm no different.

(25:04):
And he's like into her obviously, because he's like coming
up to her and like talking about her horse and shit.
And then Tucker shows up with Owen and Sierra and
they're like watching from across the yard I don't know stable,
and they're talking about how they think Tucker and Sierra
are gonna get together, so like, t how cute. And

(25:25):
then Katy has a little prayer as you do, and
then Frank is like, I gotta get the horse ready
so that I can take that kid on a horse ride.
So he goes to do that, and Katy is just
thinking about how much she loves this old man, and
I was like, oh my god, what if he liked me?
That'd be so crazy, and I'm like, why do we
need this? Okay whatever, this is a two hundred and
fifteen page book, mind you. So I'm like, you just

(25:48):
needed to pad your story and add twenty pages of
this old people romance.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
But okay, you just are ags. You're mad that they're old.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
I'm mad that they're old and falling in love. How
dare they dig griss whatever? Whatever. So cut to Tucker
showing Owen around and he like introduces Owen to a
cow that's around. She's like hanging out. She likes children.
I guess I don't know. The cow locks the child.
That's fun. And then Owen gets to ride Tucker's horse

(26:21):
and like loses his fucking mind. And that's the horse
ride he goes on with Frank. The horse's name is Jack.
In case you were wondering, I know he was wondering.
He is a horse. Couldn't tell you what kind, big one.
Maybe I don't know. One likes children. Yeah, he's a
rodeo horse. I don't know. So the child and Frank

(26:43):
go on their ride, and while that's happening, Tucker like
grabs Sarra's hand and they walk around while he tells
her that she's like a great mom because he's like
not everyone would be able to handle things like you have.
And then he's like would you ever get married again?
Like what about that? And she's like no, like I
couldn't put through all that again, like it really broke
him when his dad left and also me and that

(27:04):
was like I can't do that to him again, and
so like mood killer, okay, and then they like make
it back to the barn and at that point, Owen
is in there and he's meeting like the sheep that
he's going to get to wrangle, and the sheep's name
is cotton Ball. I loved that. And at first he's like,

(27:25):
oh my god, this sheep the same like he's like
this is a joke, right, like this little sheep what?
And then Tucker like teaches him how to talk to
animals basically like look him in the eye and talk
to him. And so then Owen is like, oh my god,
I tamed cotton Ball, like I talked to him and
he listens to me now, oh my god. And Sierra
is like, please be careful with whatever is about to

(27:46):
happen here, and they I don't. I can't. I think
there's like a saddle for the sheep. I don't know.
They get him on and he raises the sheep and
then falls off, and he's like, oh my god, that
was so cool. He's hooked. He's like, I'm gonna I'm
into this shit, and Sierra's fine with it whatever, I
don't care. Tucker is watching all this, though, and thinking

(28:10):
about what Siara said, and he's like, I guess it's
a good thing she doesn't want a relationship, because I
definitely don't want a relationship. I'm not ready for a relationship,
even though she's like really cool and I really like her,
but like, no, I don't like her. That's crazy. Those
are his thoughts, right, yeah. Of course, Also, he keeps
thinking of her as like his country girl and how
she's like this country girl and like she's a good

(28:32):
country girl. Bompop are they all around him? He lives
in the country, right, like okay, whatever. So Sierra and
Owen end up staying for dinner because Tucker is like, hey,
I told the housekeeper that Owen was going to be
here and what his paper meal was, and she got
it all together. His favorite meal as a six year
old child is mac and cheese with hot bunks.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Yeah, there's a six year old meal. That makes sense.
If it was like lobster, I'd.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
Be sure lobster bisk for this kid.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
No, also, house keeper, I'm sorry, you're not a real
country boy.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
You're not a real country boy, Larry. But yeah, and
I and I think it's maybe like not just like
Kraft mac and cheese. I think they're like making mac
and cheese.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Like, kid's nothing to like that. The kid only wants
Kraft mac and cheese.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
And you know it, Tucker's gonna grill some fucking hot dogs.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
For this probably only wants microwave too.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Kids are so he doesn't get it. That's not that's
not how you make mac and cheese with holleeens real.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
Mac and cheese. First of all, they only want Craft
mac and cheese.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
The whole point of mac and cheese with hot dogs
is it's just cheap and easy. It's not fancy. Okay, Yeah,
it's a hot dog. You cut it up, you throw
it in exactly. Yeah, so that's happening. Tucker's gonna grow
the hot dogs. Siarra's inside hanging with the girls that
are there, which include Tucker's like sister and I don't
know who else in there.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
His mom, that's for sure, but his mom.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
And they're talking about like his sister's upcompany, coming wedding,
and then she's like, my brother is so single, and
then he broke his leg and YadA YadA, he needs
a woman, and Sierra's just like sipping tea, like okay, cool,
And then Tucker comes back and he's like gonna start
curling the hot dogs, and Sierra ends up like talking
with him for some reason, I think, to avoid the

(30:18):
girl talk. She's not into that, I guess. So Tucker,
once again being really good at conversation, he's like, what
about your ex? What was that about? Why'd you guys
break up?

Speaker 2 (30:29):
This kind of a lot leave it. I feel like
he wants to date her ex husband.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Like reach single, if you want to get with him,
I'm tell me.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
More about this guy. What happened to you's.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Freaky up too? Yeah, what are his interests? Whatever? So
she's like, yes, I'm still not ready for another relationship,
YadA YadA. She's saying the same shit over and over again,
and then he's like, hey, you don't hate me anymore,
do you? And she's like, I guess not. I don't know,
You're fine, You're nice to my child. And so then

(30:59):
he's like teasing her and stuff, and he's like, yeah,
we've known each other since elementary school and he's telling her.
He tells her about how he like he used to
grab her braids that was like his thing, and she
like hated it, and he was like, I did it
because I liked to and I wanted your attention, okay,
and she's like h And then he starts talking about
how good of a cook he is for some reason,
and she's like, oh yeah, and he's like, yeah, I'm
gonna like come over and cook like spaghetti for you

(31:21):
and Owen so you can see how good of a
cook I am. And she's like, oh, yeah, are you?
And then they end up kissing as you do over
a grill while making hot dogs, and then his dad,
Frank shows up, as he does, and he's just like
they're like on the porch and he just like opens
the door and is like where are them hot dogs?
And they like break apart and are like, oh yeah,

(31:42):
the hot dogs right here, duh. And so the whole
time while they're eating dinner, Siera like cannot look at
Owen because she's like, we were kissing. I can't believe
we kissed. And then his dad totally saw and knows
that we were kissing. Oh my god, Like what am
I gonna do? Nothing? So after dinner, her and Owen

(32:03):
like go to leave and Tucker like walks them out
and he's like hey to Sierra. He's like, by the way,
that kiss was like an accident. I was like, I know,
I know you were gonna say it, but it's like
tally an accident. And she's like what and he's like, yeah,
my lips just like fell onto yours. I don't I
don't know how it happened. You know, it is an accident,
and she's like okay. And at that point they're like

(32:24):
at her car and he like puts Owen in the
backseat and he's like saying goodbye, and then he comes
up to Sierra's door and he's like, hey, I know
what you're not willing to admit, and she's like what
and he's like, you kiss me back and she's like no,
what the fuck, Like I did not, what are you
talking about? And he's like okaybye, and so he like
waves her off and she like drives off like this

(32:45):
fucking man, Oh my god, and she gets home own's asleep,
mumbling about Tucker, and she realizes in this moment that
Tucker is her one true love, always has been, and.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
That's why she never touched between elementary school and now,
or it's just for elementary school with the past what month,
maybe I think.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
They might have gone to like middle and high school together,
but like yeah, it literally is like we weren't talking
and now he's my one true love and I love
him so much and I'm like, girl, what, Okay, you
know how hot dogs really dogs? That's all takes. But
she's still She's like I can't get with him though,
because like danger, she's not ready yet. Whatever. Tucker, meanwhile,

(33:32):
he's putting his horse away and thinking about how the
day went, and also about when he got stopped by
that horse and broke his leg and how God saved
him that day because God had a plan for him,
and God didn't want him to die at the rodeo
that time. And maybe the plan that God had for
him was Sierra, because she's really cool and he's maybe

(33:54):
like ready for love right now, I don't know. Could
be cut back to Caddie whoever she is. It's the
grand opening of her inn or whatever it is, and
Frank has brought her horse over to go to can't
miss the party. He's like, here's your horse, and she's
like wow, yay. Her horse's name is Misty by the way,

(34:14):
good horse name. Good horse name. And so Frank is
like here's your horse, and her horse is like running
around all happy and she's like yeah. And then he's like,
here's my coat because you seem cold, and so she
wears his coat for the rest of the night, I guess,
and she's like tee. And then he's like, hey, by
the way, do you want to like go on a
date with me in two weeks? And she's like yes.
So she's like, oh my god, I can't believe he

(34:36):
likes me. And they're going to go to a steakhouse
in like two weeks, and then she has to go
do work stuff. I don't care. Their story is not important,
None of this is important whatever. Sierra is at work
again and her boss is like, hey, your hours are
being cut because business sucks and this is a shitty
diner as is, and she's like buck because she can

(34:58):
barely pay her bills, so she doesn't what she's gonna do.
She goes home and Tucker is there. He's just cooking,
showed up, cooking dinner at her house and Owen is like, mom,
can you believe it? Tucker is here? And she's like what.
Her mom is gone, like it's.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Just you're saying, hey, I'll relieve yeah, the babysitting, and
mom was like sure, man who doesn't.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
And basically yeah, he just like shows up and is
like because she talks with her mom later and I
don't think I talk about it, but her mom was like, yeah,
I was babysitting Owen, and then Tucker showed up talking
about how he's gonna cook you dinner. So I just
left and I'm like, bitch, okay. First of my mom,
you call me and you ask, hey, this man's here.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Yeah, is it okay? If he's here? And he says
I should leave? Is that okay? Was this a plan?
You forgot something about?

Speaker 1 (35:44):
What's want me to leave your child with this man?

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Yeah? This man who we just met, just met, just met.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
Because at the end of the book, well very soon. Actually,
she's like we've known each other two months, Like you
came back two months ago. Anyways, he's there, he's cooking
dinner and she's like, what are you doing here? And
he's like, remember I said I was gonna cook dinner
for you. You said I could. I'm making my famous
spaghetti and he's like and she's like, bro, we cannot

(36:13):
do this and he's like, no, just for tonight because
also it's Valentine's Day. Forgot to mention that.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
Oh naturally.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
Yeah. He also sent her flowers, which she hasn't like
acknowledged yet it doesn't matter whatever. So after dinner, Owen
goes to bed and Tucker is like, hey, she like
my spaghetti and she's like it was okay, and he's like,
did you like tonight and she's like yeah, Like Ricky
never cooked the entire time that we were married, so
this was like nice for me. And he's like and

(36:41):
he had also like cleaned her place well she was gone,
and he's like, I do chores.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
To nice, but if he puts stuff in the wrong.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
Place, probably did. But she's like whoa and he's like, yeah,
I do, I do chores. I'm helpful. I'm cool. And
she's like, okay, why are you telling me this? Like
what and he's like, we can like be something, you know,
we can like be together, and she's like, no, we cannot, actually,
like I can. I can't risk that with my child.

(37:08):
We can't be together. It wouldn't work, like you're going
back to the rodeo anyways. Like I that's like long
long distance. I don't want to deal with that. We
tried that before it did work. And he's like, girl,
I can visit, like we can talk on the phone,
like there's multiple the future is now, you know, there's
multiple ways we can talk. And she's like, no, sorry,
it doesn't work. I can't do it. So he leaves

(37:31):
and he leaves and she's like, god, I'm so in
love with him, but I just can't.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
And then she like we've talked three times, but okay.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
And then her mom calls and it's like how that not?

Speaker 2 (37:42):
How that night go?

Speaker 1 (37:43):
And she's like, hmm, it was fun, but like we
can't be together. And her mom was like, Okay, that
boy loves you though, and she's like oo. So Tucker
drives home. He's all sad. He he gets home and
his dad is like, oh my god, I'm going on
a date soon. How great is that? Everything's great, and
Tucker is like, I can't give up on Sierra yet.
I gotta I gotta keep trying.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
She said no, but Surela's ignore that.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Yeah, he ignores that. So Sierra's at work some other
day and Tucker shows up. He's like, I gotta talk
to you, and she's like, okay, sit at this table.
And so it's like in between, like she's like taking
orders and stuff and then like we'll come and talk
to him. And he's like, so I bought some property
in town because I want to put roots down and
show you that I'm serious. The property he bought is

(38:30):
the property where they did the sheep wrangling, so I
guess that wasn't at his dad's ranch. So I'm confused
about that. This property he bought is hundreds of thousands
of acres or one hundred thousand acres. It's a lot
like casually bought, right, So yeah, he bought all this land.
And he's like, I want to show you I'm serious.
I want to stay here with you and owen I guess,

(38:53):
And she's like what and so she's thrown back like
she's thinking about when her ex left her, Like he
literally he just like came home packed up and left,
and she's thinking about that and how he was like,
I don't care about Owen. I don't care about you.
I'm leaving. So she's like back to the present and
she's like, hey, you just got here. You've been in
our lives two months.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
I can't lost property. It takes like a month to process.
That exactly started that immediately.

Speaker 1 (39:18):
Yeah, they accepted the bid, but like the paperwork's not
done yet, but like yeah, yeah, like it's not it's
not done yet, like you they accepted your bid, but
there's a lot more after that, okay whatever. She's like,
I can't risk it. Owen's involved, like I can't do that,
and he's like, okay, I guess I'll go back to
the rodeo. And she's like when are you leaving? And

(39:40):
he's like now. Then he's just like leaves exit, has
like a car in the parking lot and his cousin's
in the car ready to drive into the airport.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
So he had a backup plan for this whole thing.
He was ready to leave.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
He was ready to go. He was like, if she
accepts me, I'm staying and if not, I'm going to
the rodeo. So she's like okay, hey bye. So then
we cut back to the old people from it. Katie
is being picked up by Frank to go to the
steakhouse on their little date, and she's telling him about
how she used to be an attorney in New York
and she was engaged when she was in law school

(40:16):
but her fiance wanted her to drop out of law
school and be a housewife and she was like, no,
why would I do that. So if she hasn't dated
since then.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
Okay, okay, she's dated what thirty years?

Speaker 1 (40:27):
Right, And he's like, yeah, I had to raise all
my kids after my wife abandoned me, and I also
haven't dated since then. So they're like meant to be together. Okay,
they're like soul mads. Anyways, back to Tucker. He's doing laundry.
He's all sad, sier, I won't date him. He's like
packing up or whatever, and his dad comes home and
is like, my date was great, A la la everything

(40:51):
good for me. The single dad who's been single for
twenty years, and Tucker is like, god, I'm lonely, I
am single. And his dad is like, oh, are you
like packing? And he's like, yeah, I'm going back to
the rodeo, and his dad's like, okay, what about Sierra.
You guys are like in love and he's like, nope,
she didn't want me, so some time away will help

(41:11):
and yeah. And his dad's like, okay, do you want
help and he's like no, I'm fine. And so he's
like packing. All this is like is like what yea,
his leg is field? Okay, yeah, yeah whatever, he can
ride horses again. Whatever. So Sierra meanwhile has gotten a

(41:32):
job at Katie's new end thing. Oh my god, who's
all that coming? And she's praying would have it's because
I barely talked about it, but she's praying that that's
gonna work out, and also that she made the right
decision with Tucker because she is second guessing that. She
gets home and she's tell her mom. She's like, yeah,
this work. It went really well. I think my manager

(41:54):
really likes me. YadA, YadA. This is the most controversial
part in the story according to me. So her mom
is like listening to her talk about her day, right,
and she's like making dinner and Owen walks in and
he's like I'm hungry and her and and Sierra's like,
we're gonna have dinner soon, you can't eat, and so
her her mom. Her mom is like, oh, what about

(42:15):
some potato, and then feeds this kid raw potato as
a snack and he's just like okay, and then they
just keep talking like this never happened, and I'm like,
is this normal uncooked raw potato? She's just she's peeling
and cutting potatoes and then just gives them to the kids.
She's also snacking on the raw potato, and I was.

Speaker 2 (42:35):
Like, that's not good.

Speaker 1 (42:40):
Well, and it's like I've heard of like I forget
some TLC show or something where like the husband whenever
he wanted to get with his wife and she's like, no,
we can't. He would eat raw potatoes until his urgers
went away. And so I'm like, that would make you
is this a weird religious thing?

Speaker 2 (42:56):
Do you do?

Speaker 1 (42:57):
You guys eat potatoes like that, like there's some better cooked.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
It makes me think of when Tall David would tell
me multiple times all the time about this magician who
only eat potatoes because I don't have their raw but
I think they were playing for sure, because it was
to reset his taste books. So then afterwards he ate
some corn and it tasted like candy. These are the
words that were used multiple times the same story.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
Heard. Okay, some magician, I want to say that he
David and his insane stories. I can't believe this one
hasn't come up before because I'm.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
Sure candy corn because he's always like it tasted like
candy afterwards and.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
So and that magician went on to invent candy corn.
I mean, he was like based off his potatoes.

Speaker 2 (43:46):
He was always like, I want to do that, like sense, great,
go ahead.

Speaker 1 (43:50):
I've heard that you can basically survive off of an
all potato diet because potatoes have most of the stuff
you need to survive. I don't think he'll be like
happy or healthy, but like you can.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
Yeah, you probably live off of most things.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
That are I think seasoning can be added well, no,
and raw you could cook it. Why not you give
yourself like a fucking food line or whatever. Why even eat?
Like if you're going to reset your taste buds, like,
come on.

Speaker 2 (44:20):
You probably can't afford just to.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
Do just make disgusting smoothies all the time, like like
you know, just blend your food, eat it that way,
then you'll really appreciate how food actually tastes. I think,
why are your jaws shut? Only eat liquids.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
There's not options here. But I'm not a fan of
the raw potato. I think we should all try it though.

Speaker 1 (44:40):
Yeah, this is also that quote because when I was
doing my summary, I was like, oh, where's the potatoes?
So did I skip over it? No, it's in the
last twenty pages of the book. It's just like thrown
in all casual. None of the reviews brought this up.
I guess no one cares but me about the raw
potato things common. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
Maybe it's like it's something they do everywhere, but the
specific Northwest.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
Please tell us if you've ever eaten a raw potato
so I can judge you for it, because I will
judge you for it.

Speaker 2 (45:05):
But also like what I hate when they're undercooked. I
don't want to see this.

Speaker 1 (45:09):
White people culture I don't know about, like it's too white.

Speaker 2 (45:15):
Okay maybe, but nowhere else should they be doing this?

Speaker 1 (45:18):
Right?

Speaker 2 (45:19):
And you should know you're the potato person.

Speaker 1 (45:21):
I'm a potato person and I don't eat Okay, you
know what I did do one time though this was
not a raw potato, So like sometimes just a side
story potato story. So like sometimes whole potatoes will get
in the bags because like shit gets sucked up or whatever.
So that means if a potato ends up in the bag,
it has gone through the entire French pie process. Yeah,

(45:43):
I ate it out. On this particular day, we were
running some kind of batter which makes things more delicious obviously,
and whole potatoes had made it through the bags. So
like whole it's like a whole potato. It's got like
batter on it. It's like kind of soft because it's
been fry technically just not long enough. And my coworker

(46:03):
is like, oh, yeah, my coworker, you would love her.
Her name's Dominga. She's like this four foot ten, like
Mexican lady. She's like fifty. She's amazing. Love her. Anyways,
She's like, yeah, I like to save these fucking potatoes
when they come through and I'll take them home and
bake them and they're like really good, like baked.

Speaker 2 (46:20):
I didn't see it'd be good. Baked. Efforts are even
like a little fried.

Speaker 1 (46:23):
So she and she was like, I do it at
lunch too, because we can, like we have like a
cafeteria and you can buy like cheese sauce and shit,
she was like a dip them in the cheese sauce,
and I was like, oh my god. So she puts
these potatoes in the oven to like finish them, and
I ate a whole potato just no nothing on it,
Like after it was cooked. It was fucking delicious, but
at least it was like battered and like had things

(46:45):
on it. It wasn't just like raw plain potato.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
It's so good, raw plat potato a lot healthier for you.

Speaker 1 (46:51):
I'm sure, probably yeah, than my concoction. But I'm just
gonna say, as a potato person, i'd I ain't about that.

Speaker 2 (47:01):
Good.

Speaker 1 (47:02):
Back to the story, boring whatever. They keep talking about
Tucker and how she's not kidding with Tucker. Basically, Tucker meanwhile,
is getting ready for his first rodeo. I don't know
where he is because he flew out for this, but
he is thinking about Sierra and he gets a call
from his dad and he's like, hey, there's an amber

(47:22):
alert because Owen is missing. And yeah, so he's like, oh,
gotta go help with that. So Tucker just like leaves
the rodeo. I don't, like I said, don't know where
he was where he ends up, but he does get
back to this area because it's late, you know. Later
on that night's here. It's freaking out because they can't

(47:43):
find her son, and they're like, hell, the whole town
is looking, you know, they're like searching the fields and stuff.
They can't find this fucking kid. It's nighttime, it's cold,
it's February, you know, and she can't go to bed.
She's like, I can't rest until we find my son.
And Evyone's like, girl, you can't do anything, like calm down.
And then Tucker gets there and he's like, where would

(48:03):
Owen go? I will find him? And he's like, oh,
I wonder if Owen went to go hang out with
cotton Ball. So he goes to the farm and sure enough,
he finds Owen freezing in the cow pen. Remember that
cow we met. She's back. Oh okay, she's the main character.
Her name is Buttercup.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
That's a good count.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
That's a good count name. And so Owen's hanging out
with Buttercup and Tucker is like, boy, what the hell
and he's like, Owen's like, yeah, I heard my mom
talking about like money problems, and I know that I'm
like expensive, and so I figured she'd be better off
without me and would be happier without me. And Tucker
is like, no, that's not like what No, Like, we'll
go talk to her and she'll.

Speaker 2 (48:45):
Tell you, Hey, your mom's gonna be very upset.

Speaker 1 (48:48):
He's like, your mom's freaking out right now. But okay,
So he grabs the kid and takes him back to
his mom. Evan's reunited, yay, happy, and then Sierra's like, well,
happened to your rodeo that ruined your road, your return
to the rodeo whatever, and Tucker is like, that's not
my life, you are. Will you marry me.

Speaker 2 (49:09):
Soon?

Speaker 1 (49:11):
She's like, oh my god. This is when she realizes.
She's like, Tucker's been showing that he loves me this
whole time, when he's been hanging out with my child. Yes,
I'll marry you and I will love you forever. And
he's like just forever, not forever in a day.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
The end, hm hm hmm, okay, that's gonna last. It's
like what it's been like they spent no time alone.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
I know, it's like a Harlequin romance or whatever, but
like Y'll kiss once, like I know bitches get married
without kissing and it works out. But it's like it
doesn't always work out.

Speaker 2 (49:56):
But okay, I had no time together, said, no time together.

Speaker 1 (49:59):
No time at all. So I've prepared some reviews for us.
All all my Cowboy reviews have come from Goodreads because
these books are too small to be on story, they
are obscure. So this somehow got four point one stars. Wow,
people really liked it.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
Tight Okay, first one. This book had everything in it
in a good in a good way. Is there a
bad way? I guess Anyways, A sick boy received his
make a Wish Rodeo Cowboy. It is set in the mountains,
but lots of horses. Great book. I guess that's all
you need.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
Make the wish Rodeo Cowboy mountains horses done.

Speaker 2 (50:41):
All you need? A book good, easy to please.

Speaker 1 (50:44):
Like this lady, Yeah, okay, this I really agreed with.
I don't they give it four stars? But whatever. There
were a few parts in the book when I couldn't
figure out who was talking. It was like they moved
on to something else and I didn't know about it.
Another thing that got me was all the back and
forth I love you, I hate you, you haven't really changed,
but maybe you have. Either way, it won't work. The

(51:05):
end kind of took me by surprise. Usually you get
a chapter or two of a Happily ever After, but
in this one you get a couple of pages. It's
like a paragraph, it's not a couple of pages. Oh
four starts.

Speaker 2 (51:19):
I loved it. I mean, there were a few parts
in the book when I couldn't figure out who was talking.
This is apparently a big issue. It was like, is
this the same start?

Speaker 1 (51:29):
It is the same one? Ah? Fuck, I think I
had a really good one that was talking about how
the inconsistencies in this book. I'll give you. I remember
it because it was There's this one part where they're
talking about horses and Sierra is like, oh, yeah, my
childhood horse ploppers, I think. And then she's like, yeah,

(51:51):
he went and loved with my dad and then whatever,
and then he died when I was in high school.
And it's like the way she tells the story that
it doesn't make any sense, it doesn't match up. Or
she's like, oh, yeah, my old horse, he's still alive,
and then he died when I was in high school. Yeah,
there's no there's a lot of continue, continuation, con continuity,

(52:13):
continuity errors. That was the third. That was the review. You, Well,
here's a short and sweet one you by the way,
the last review, it's really long, so get excited. Tucker
was a sweetheart, so was Owen. Sierra not so much.
Tucker deserved better. Two stars. That was the whole review.

Speaker 2 (52:32):
Hate on Sierra. Girl's just single mom trying to make
it work.

Speaker 1 (52:35):
And like there was barely any bad reviews for this book,
like the one stars. There was four of them. Like,
that's it, so you got the best one?

Speaker 2 (52:44):
Okay, Oh, I'm excited for this horrible avoid at all costs.
In one paragraph, the girl's horse is both living at
her parents' house and long deceased, and another scene, the
little boy has sneakers shoewais his retie, then his booster
stopped on the porch. Then is sneaks are being removed
at that time? For a while, you often forget, says
she's writing an inspirational romance. Then she seems to remember

(53:06):
and put in several references to Lord and prayer before
I'm forgetting again. This is a freebie from the publisher.
Someone included it free with the book I traded for
the price is far too high. They should pay me
tons to spend time reading this drivel. The only reason
I finished it was because I wouldn't know what happened
with the heroin's little boy one star.

Speaker 1 (53:25):
I love that one. There were so many that were like,
I got this book for free. The publisher sent me
this book. I love it. That's a popular thing in
these harlequin cowboys. Yeah, because it's like I was given
this book, here's my review. I loved it, and I'm like, oh, okay, whatever, Yeah,
so I don't I haven't really been doing questions for these.

(53:50):
It's more of if I think of anything while I'm
talking about it.

Speaker 2 (53:53):
Well, I probably have some questions. Do you think they're
can stick together?

Speaker 1 (53:58):
No, well I don't know. I think they have to,
but I kind of have to because she was like,
I am not doing this all again, and also her
son is like in love with this man, so like.

Speaker 2 (54:09):
Yeah, do you think he's a pedophile? And just did
it for the sun.

Speaker 1 (54:14):
This whole time, I was actually in it for Owen.
I bought this ranch for me and Owen.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
If you could, him and Owen have a lot more
of a connection, it seems.

Speaker 1 (54:22):
Than her and they've talked a lot more than.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
Have so, yeah, they've had two conversations. He knows nothing
about her besides the fact that she has a son
and an ex. He says no more about her ex
than her when talking always asked her about her ex.

Speaker 1 (54:43):
Yeah, it was so many times that he was like
why'd your marriage and why did your marriage suck? Like
why are you single? And I'm like, bro, give her
some space. She's obviously still not over it. And yeah,
I just and like he knew because like she they
also went to school with like her her baby daddy,

(55:05):
Like she went to school with him. She knew him
in high I'm sure.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
They're both Verdeo cowboys. They knew each other.

Speaker 1 (55:09):
Yeah, And I was also just like waiting for the dad.
I mean I really expected the dad to show up
and for them to be like drama.

Speaker 2 (55:17):
Trying to get d Yeah. You would think that would
have been a good like second act twist or something,
you know.

Speaker 1 (55:24):
And I feel like, well, dating, they.

Speaker 2 (55:26):
Break up because the dad comes back and then they
get back together, and that's what it would have been
that I.

Speaker 1 (55:31):
Think it would have made more sense too, Yeah, because
like she talks about the dad all the time and like, oh, oh, yeah,
he's not here, but his parents are great. She talks
about his parents a lot more than like, but his
parents are never in it either, because she's like, yeah,
his parents are really disappointed in him, and like they're
gonna be here for Owen surgery, but then they aren't,

(55:52):
and then they never come up. So I was like, why,
why why is all this being brought up so much?

Speaker 2 (55:57):
Yeah, and the other good they could have been, like
the parents show up and they're like, we have with
this new guy and our grandson's life. Our son sucks.
He would bother our son isn't like that's great.

Speaker 1 (56:05):
That would have been good too.

Speaker 2 (56:06):
But no, I write this book. I got the rights.
I can give her some pens. Sometimes.

Speaker 1 (56:12):
Oh, I can't wait to tell you about the ones
that you've missed. We'll have to do an episode or
short something about that, and I'll give you a rundown
of the Yeah, I am other cowboys, because there was
a couple of crime relating ones that I think you
would have gotten a kick out of.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
I know there's at least one gambling one. I feel
like a lot of them are gambling addicts.

Speaker 1 (56:29):
The gambling one I haven't done yet because that was
the first one you got me. So there's two left,
and the gambling one is one of them. But there
was two crimes. There was two like deputy sheriff type
ones makes sense.

Speaker 2 (56:41):
I feel like sheriffs or cowboys or cowboys or sheriffs.
There's not a lot of cowboys.

Speaker 1 (56:46):
I don't know. That's what cowboys do. I don't know. Yeah,
so I don't know. I don't really have any quotes
for this one because the potato was really the only
part that got me. If you have any more questions, no.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
I would like to hear your final thoughts on this book.

Speaker 1 (57:06):
I read this really fast, but it took me a
really long time to type up the summary because I
was like, oh, I gotta get back into this. It's
not a bad book, you know. I was apprehensive going
into it, especially because of the whole inspirational romance thing,
and I was like, what does that mean? And it
was kind of exactly what I expected, and that they
just kept adding God in in a way that to

(57:28):
me didn't really make sense or like add to the
story at all, because it's like, I get it, she's
a Christian lady. Whatever. Good for her, but it just
felt unnecessary the way it was added in and not
in a way that made sense, and like they didn't
even ever go to church or anything. So I was like,
I feel like, if you're mentioning God, you got to
be like some churchy people.

Speaker 2 (57:47):
But him going to Sunday church with them, I don't know, but.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
I mean, I guess I could see there'd be different
types of Christian romances or whatever. There was a lot
of comments being like, you want nice, clean romance, this
is it, and I was like, pretty clean, it's it's something.
I guess all of these cowboys romance novels have been
pretty clean so far.

Speaker 2 (58:10):
I will say I tried to pick one of the
most shirtless men on.

Speaker 1 (58:13):
It, like I think the smuttiest that I've gotten was
one of them had like they had sex like twice.
Well actually there was one of them where it was
like twelve days of Christmas and those twelve days they
were just fucking the whole time. But even then, it's
not like here's a seamy sex scene. It was just
like he came over and then we had sex, and
I'm like, okay, cool, whatever, that's fine. The cowboys, I

(58:34):
guess these are sexless cowboys.

Speaker 2 (58:37):
That's what I'm going for. Okay. I have a thought,
and it is about the timeline of this kid's healing.
So this was two three months. Yes, if he had
open heart surgery, he should not have been on that
sheep that.

Speaker 1 (58:49):
Quickly, like so fast, like because week six.

Speaker 2 (58:53):
Months, probably the kid needs to recover. He's probably has
to be in the hospital for like a week or
two after. I don't know, I've never had to opire surgery,
but aren't you in the hospital for a minute afterwards?

Speaker 1 (59:01):
He's there's even a comment about when the people come
and visit her house and like bring them stuff that
someone's like, wow, he got out of the hospital really fast.

Speaker 2 (59:12):
So the afternoon she knew she didn't do it too fast,
and she's like, well, just talk about it.

Speaker 1 (59:17):
It's fine, don't worry about it.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
That's great. I think the kid is probably not okay,
and maybe she should have been focused on that. Also,
she's gonna marry it. Now.

Speaker 1 (59:28):
This all starts after Christmas, because they make a point
of saying like after the holidays or something, so maybe
this starts in January, Like, yeah, Christmas is.

Speaker 2 (59:37):
The end of December, so it's pretty much January.

Speaker 1 (59:40):
Yeah, it doesn't really make much sense, but I whatever.
I guess people fall in love fast sometimes I don't know.

Speaker 2 (59:47):
Well, if they spend time together. They hung out three times? Yeah,
she said yes because she was an emotional state because
her son was just missing it and just found.

Speaker 1 (59:55):
I think that's actually the review that you were supposed
to read for the three star was there was one
that it was like, it doesn't really seem like she
wants to be with him, and like because it goes
from like no, no, no no to I guess and like,
what's up with that? That's kind of weird, that's not
that's not a good romance.

Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
No, that man should be like never mind. Also, he
immediately had left her and was like, oh, I'll be back,
and he comes back for a second, he's gonna leave again. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
Well, and like there was a point where when he
talked to his dad, his dad was like, no, I
get why she's apprehensive to get back together. I had
a spouse leave me and it took me a long
time to get over that. And it's like took you
twenty years, bro, you're telling.

Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
You she's good years to deal with it, and then.

Speaker 1 (01:00:37):
She'll marry you. Okay, Wow, what a book? What a book? Yeah,
So that's it. If you liked this episode, feel free
to listen to the rest of the sexy Cowboy books
I've covered this summer, and also listen to our you
know less sexy less Cowboy books that we've talked about
over the years. There's a lot of them. While you're

(01:00:58):
at it, make sure to get up up and give
us a five star review. That's a good one.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
And if you want to find us on the internet,
where we have not been active for a long time,
but I'm trying to do it. I spend a lot
of time on my phone not doing that, so I
could be doing stuff. I'm just online choppin but never pay.
Not buy it to Kurt, just add into Kurt. Sometimes
I buy stuff, but it's only every baby stuff anyways. Yeah,
the baby spends all my money. I'm going to try

(01:01:27):
to work on that in the remaining time they have
off of work. But you can find us on Instagram,
a book cult podcast, on TikTok at, book called pod
and online a bookcolled podoardpress dot com. Unless we switch
to what is that called squarespace thinking about it, Here
are the commercials.

Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
Oh, yes, well, Seth is learning how to program us
the website eventually, but that costs money.

Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
What are you doing, Seth? Work on it?

Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
He's he's literally doing his little programming class in the
background as we speak. Okay, I well, never mind, it's working, Sidney.

Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
Okay, I take it back.

Speaker 1 (01:02:01):
Okay, thanks for listening here.

Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
Now, I guess getting married to someone you don't fucking know, Jess,
because okay, you wouldn't marry the first guy who found
your kid when he's a search and rescue team. Don't
marry the first guy who found your kid. In general,
you know, just because your kid ran away doesn't mean
you need to marry the guy who came back with him.

Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
Or do it. I don't know. Maybe that's the secret
to a successful marriage. Who knows, No take seat vaccies you.

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
Can't because they're Christian.

Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
You know, divorce except for that first one.

Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
You take your divorce twice. It's real fun.
