I can't give him the pearl Shorty?

Speaker 3 (16:58):
Why not?

Speaker 1 (16:58):
I'll tell you later? You tell him later a bedtime
story scanning.

Speaker 5 (17:04):
I hope your boys don't mind not dark what we
can see. If it isn't bad s tell a wise guy,
ain't you blakey?

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Big boys with little guns don't frighten me? Scamming?

Speaker 5 (17:13):
Oh Shorty? Tell you who I am well, and I
know what.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
You want too. The Worthington pearls.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
You give up quicker than I thought you would hand
him over. I'll let you go.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
I can't do it.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
Look I know you haven't.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
And what if I don't.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
I want to see how your panels, Shorty. He looks
in black and blue.

Speaker 6 (17:29):
I don't let him scare you with that boss right
out bruise.

Speaker 5 (17:32):
So he's he's gonna hand over the pearls, Blakie.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (17:35):
Yeah, maybe if I kick show you around a little,
help you to find out.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
I hear you want for that scanning, and believe me,
I'll pay you off. But don't kick him again.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
That didn't hurt me, nor boys, Well tell him.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
Nothing better tell me everything, Blackie, the next one will hurt.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Okay, scammon, I'll tell you where the pearls are, but
you will have to worry about how.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
To get them where at police.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
You're a lyon, Blackie.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
You said inspect a Friday didn't fly him.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
He didn't Shorty before he got around to searching my raincoat.
I sneak the pearls into the tobacco jar and inspect
the Faraday's desk.

Speaker 5 (18:11):
Okay, Blackie, you put them in police headquarters. Now you
get him out.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
I can't.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
If I show my face and police headquarters, I'll be
looking through bars for the next ten years.

Speaker 5 (18:20):
Then figure out a way for me to get him
out of Faraday's tobaca jar, and I go to work
on Shorty again. I'm kickboys, you can do.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Wait a minute, you're from out of town. Aren't just
Candlon there? So I don't think Paraday knows you, does he?

Speaker 5 (18:34):
I'm not known of the comps anywhere. I'm too smart.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Good.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Yeah, you can walk into Paraday's office and walk out again,
can't you sure? Then you can go for the pearls yourself.

Speaker 5 (18:45):
Now, how much sense does that make? I walk into
a guy's office reach in. It was the back of jar.
Walk out again. He doesn't suspect anything. I thought you
were smart, Flankey.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
I'll tell you how you can get into Paradase's tobacco
jar without raising suspicion.

Speaker 5 (18:56):
It's better be good. I think you're stolen.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Go down to see Faraday and tell him you know
where I am. That should make him your buddy. But
to prove you know me, mention that I like to
smoke his special tobacco and my pipe, and.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
Then I want to try some too, right.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Is that simple?

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Yeah, that's order to us.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
If you play at the angle that I always did,
smoke his tobacco and my pipe, it's perfect. All you
do then is reach inside a tobacco jar, throw your
pipe and palm the pearls.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Okay, Blackie, but you better be on the level about this.
But I'm not back inside of two hours. My pals
have got orders what to.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
Do with you.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
What kind of order is scanning, old pal?

Speaker 2 (19:37):
I'll tell you what kind of orders, shorty, And I'll
also tell you all the good jokes.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
I know, so we can die lapping.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
So you're the famous Inspector Paraday. I heard so much about.
I'm glad to annoy you.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
Glad to know you, Scanlon, especially if you know where
I can find Boss Blackie.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Well, I don't know exactly inspected Saturday, but I have
a rough idea.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
I'll give it to me and I'll smooth it out.

Speaker 5 (20:06):
I saw Blakeye's car turn into its side road off
Harrison Piked, ten miles north of the sitting limit.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
How do you know it was Blackie's car?

Speaker 4 (20:13):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (20:13):
I know Blanky pretty well.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
How well?

Speaker 5 (20:16):

might have I try a pipe from half your south.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
I've laid off smoking my pipe for a couple of weeks. Yeah,
the tobacco's in this job, I think.

Speaker 5 (20:46):
Oh great. On roamor I inspected. What's that out on
the street there at the beginning of a brawl?

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Huh, Well, I don't see anything.

Speaker 5 (20:55):
Those kids are screaming at each other. Oh, I'm not
doing anything wrong, just playing a new game and no
screaming at each other.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Yeah, they call it, Blackie Faraday.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
I never heard of it. You wanna like they have
one of the things.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Why do they like it?

Speaker 5 (21:13):
Oh, that's fine, fine. Blackie certainly know what he.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Was talking about now, it usually does. But don't ever
tell him I said something.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
Don't long inspect that, and when you catch Blackie tell him.
I kind of like the tobacco John, it had something
uh different in it.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
Blackie Scallon said his hoods.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
We're gonna bomp us.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
If it wasn't back in two hours?

Speaker 2 (21:40):
Is it the is it?

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Is it two hours?

Speaker 4 (21:42):

Speaker 5 (21:46):

Speaker 3 (21:49):
Scandon's hoods are right outside.

Speaker 1 (21:50):

Speaker 2 (21:50):
I could get through the locked door, all right, but
I don't know how to get through Scanlon's man without
a gun.

Speaker 5 (21:55):
Oh, Boss, somebody's opened the door.

Speaker 6 (22:00):

anything on me.

Speaker 2 (22:37):

I knew Scandlon was up to something when he said
you like my pipe tobacco. You don't smoke a pipe, no,
he tells you. Hey, wonderful Scanlon is the playful little
fellow who tapped you on the head when you were
taking me to headquarters for the murder of Duke Butcher.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Scanlon killed Butcher. Oh yes, I can.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
Duke Butcher was in my apartment looking for the Worthington pearls,
which he'd stolen, and then planted on Shorty. What let
me finish before you start making arrest, Inspector. Scanlon was
trying to hijack the pearls from Butcher.

Fragg it is better be good.

Speaker 1 (23:33):

didn't know who.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Had the pearl that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Just how crazy do you think it is, Inspector?

didn't have the pearls.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Who has him now, Scanlon Scanlon has the pearls here,
I'll show him.

from Butcher, where did he.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
I put them there, Inspector, just before you search me.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
You let me chase all over town for these pearls
when all the time they were in the tobacco jar
on my desk.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
