I have been doing LGBT related advocacy work for the last seven years. I came out as being gay at the age of 12 and struggled with who I was for a long time before that.

Before and after I came out, I was bullied for years, which caused me to go into a deep depression. I had accepted who I was, but others had not. Fellow students and even some family told me that I would never amount to anything & that I was worthless Even though deep down I knew who I was and that it was ok to be myself, I started to believe all of the things people were telling me. I went into a very difficult time in my life and sometimes I even had thoughts of suicide and actions of self-harm.

Even though when I came out, I experienced bullying and lack of support. I did not give up. I went on to lead my high school and college GSA and have worked with local organizations to facilitate numerous training on diversity and inclusion. I now work to promote the message that life gets better, and it is important never to give up. I am now a proud LGBTQ advocate.

In the days, weeks, months, and years to come...I hope to help inspire and change the lives of LGBT youth everywhere,

I have been and planned to continue to work to end bullying and suicide. I know first hand that being a member of the LGBTQ community in today’s society can be very difficult. I know how hard it can be to come out, to feel accepted in your school or community. I do what I do because of all of this and to help LGBTQ youth get the resources and support that I wish I had had.

The Piketon Massacre
The Piketon Massacre
On the night of April 21, 2016 in rural Piketon, Ohio - eight members of the Rhoden family were viciously murdered execution style in their homes. Two years later in 2018, their neighbors, the Wagners, were arrested and charged with committing the largest massacre in Ohio’s history. Shocked by the arrests, this once close-knit and religious community remains divided and unable to cope. Was a respected and reputable Piketon family responsible for this unimaginable murder spree? Our team will examine the deep ties that connected both families. We’ll examine the evidence and possible motives for the crimes. For the first time we’ll speak with townspeople, psychological experts, respected investigators, friends and members of both families. Are the Wagners responsible for the murders, and if convicted, will they be executed? Or is it possible that there is still a murderer at large waiting to kill again?
