Speaker 1 (00:20):
Welcome to Bruisers, a podcast about beer, coffee, booze and bruisers.
I'm your host, Roddy John and today we talked to
Celeste Bonen. We talk about her journey in pro wrestling,
being an entrepreneur, and so much more. That's right. This
is our two hundred and fiftieth episode, and we had
to have a big name, and of course I got
Celeste Bonen. I love it. This was such a fantastic conversation.
(00:41):
I drove down to Houston just to talk to her,
and I loved every bit of it, and I wish, honestly,
we could have talked more. So you don't want to
hear from my mouth, you want to hear from hers.
Here is Celeste Bonen.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
I would like to welcome the show. Celest Bonen. How
are you doing to day?
Speaker 3 (01:06):
I'm good. I like the casual intro. It's a pleasure
to be on your podcast.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
It's a pleasure for you to be here. Honestly, this
is a special one, right, Yes, this is two hundred
and fifty. This is very special.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
So how long have you had this podcast? So?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
I've been doing this one so all right.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
It initially started with me doing one about the city
of Arlington, where it was an interview show too, and
eventually I started adding more of the brewing and the
wrestling and the MMA stuff into it, and my girlfriend
at the time was like, welly don't you just do
one on your own with all that other stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
And I was like, oh, I guess that's a good idea.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
I'm here.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
We are, Yeah, we areodes later.
Speaker 5 (01:45):
Yeah, so I've already passed that one with how many
episodes I've done, but this one I put out two
a week, and so it's worked.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Out really very cool, very very cool.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
So I'm very happy for you to be here.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Yeah, it was cool to so we actually connected Russell Colon.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Yes, so.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
It was cool to have the opportunity just to chat
and then you share about the episode. And I wanted
to make sure that I got to be your two
hundred and fifty.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yes, without doubt. Yeah. I drove down to well.
Speaker 5 (02:14):
Just North Houston, which is good because Houston traffic, as
you know, not the best.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yeah. Yeah, it keeps getting worse.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
Yeah, well as grow. Somebody grew up in DFW and
it keeps growing and getting bigger.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
It also is getting worse all the time. Yes, yeah,
I live in a nice construction area right now.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Every day I'm like, can I get out this way?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
This way? Yeah, you have like a hard hat.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah I need to. I used to be in construction
for like two years. Okay, yeah, it's not as bad.
Oh yeah, Well there's so many things I.
Speaker 5 (02:44):
Want to touch on because I listened to so many
of your old podcasts and interviews you've done.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Even back at twenty seventeen, you talked to JR. Just
after her.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
Oh my god, yeah, you know where I was when
I recorded that.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
So it was.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
I forget what hurricane it was. I mean there during
hurricane season.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
They're there like every week every two weeks.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
Especially when I was living in Florida and I had
a friend who was a US marshall and he my mom.
I had moved my mom down to South Florida as well.
I had moved down there. I was living in Florida
already when I was wrestling, and then when I left
the company, I moved back to Houston for like six months,
and then I got I was already engaged in my
first husband at that time, and I ended up moving
(03:25):
back to South Florida to because he had a business
and stuff there, So I moved there anyway.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
So I was just in South Florida for like ten years.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
And my friend was like, so I moved my mom
down there and she had animals, and it was just like,
do you know to evacuate South Florida you have to
drive all the way up the state and it's just
like traffic and everyone's just crazy.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
And a lot of times the news hype South the evacuations.
It's supposed to be a bad one.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
And so he my friend's like, okay, so here's the option.
You know, if you guys want to stay, you can
drive down South. Like so even for this out the
direction that was opposite where everybody else was.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Ever, it was leaving.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
So we drove down to Miami to a government building
which was bomb proof. So he was like, you know,
there's generators, like you're safe here. So I packed up
my mom, her animals. I had a dog at the time,
and yeah, we stayed in a bomb proof building in
Miami and the storm hit and the storm came so fast,
like the city didn't have time to take down certain cranes.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
So they were like crazy swinging in.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
This guy it was like such a like a surreal
thing to do, because like as we were driving, me
and my mom were driving south, it was like doomsday,
Like all the highway was completely empty, and like if
any cars were they were gone the opposite way. So yeah,
that I think I was like in a weird state
of mind when I did that podcast, and I.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Imagine you're in a survival and then all of a
sudden Jr. Is talking about whatever he's talking.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Yeah, yeah, Yeah, my god, I can't believe.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
That was eight years ago.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Yeah, I was twenty seventeen.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
Yeah, And then I've heard so many others you and
since then, and you've kind of just been on a just.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
A crazy life journey honestly.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
Yeah, and not just I mean obviously once you eventually
got tow too, that was just part of it.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
But like, I want to go all the way back
in time. What is because you always kind.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
Of have somewhat of an athletic background. What did you
play sports growing up?
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Like? What did you? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (05:19):
I played soccer for many, many years. I was on
when I was fifteen, I was on the Olympic development team.
So I was like really serious about it. And then
when it went when it was time for me to
go to college. I was going through a lot, my
mom's going through a lot, and I ended up like
kind of like falling out of love with soccer and
feeling I wanted to do something different. So I stayed
(05:39):
at home into community college, and as soon as I
graduated high school, I wanted to start competing in fitness competitions.
I had a track coach who and this is like,
you know, I graduated in two thousand and five, this
is actually my twenty This year will be my twenty
year high school, I think, so i'd love to go.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
So I had a track coach, and we didn't have
like social media then like we do now, right, so
the things weren't as successible in terms of like what
you could be or what you could look like or
how you could live. And so I had this coach.
Her name is Yolanda Beasley, and she was my track coach.
And so I played soccer, club, soccer, high school socer,
intermid track. And she was so like she was such
(06:24):
a specimen and I had never seen a woman that
had her like a physique like her. She was, you know,
incredibly built, and I was just like, I want to
look like that and to be like that. She was
so strong and she I, I was going through a
lot of stuff at home, and she just she taught
me how to lift weights at school and she would
take me to train at a golds gym after school.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Yeah, she was like, uh, my first mentor.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
And she competed in fitness competitions and it was the
first time I ever heard of that, right, And and
then I started buying like Oxygen magazine, you know, like
other fitness magazines, and I was so excited to.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Compete. And so I started training in the weight room
when I was fourteen.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
That's cool.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
So I'm thirty eight now, So it's been when I
turned thirty nine. This year, I'll be twenty five years
of of weightlifting. Yeah. I really shaped me, obviously my body,
but my character and discipline and who I am. And
so as soon as I graduated high school, I got
a like a diet coach and I did all the
training myself, and I did my first competition right when
I turned nineteen. Didn't place, but it was very very cool.
(07:25):
I was like, it was my first time to ever
do like a bodybuilding style diet, and it was like
a whole new world for me, and then I got
a trainer and kind of had my gotten my feet wet.
So I came back into the same show a year
later and ended up winning it.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
That's awesome.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Yeah, So I got really into I competed for a
few years. I got invited to the Arnold Amateur, which
was like a huge big deal, especially with how young
I was. And then I started feeling like, you know,
bodybuildings really cool, but I wanted to do something more
dynamic and other than you know, cause there was so
much behind the scenes stuff that went into training your
(08:01):
body and your mind for bodybuilding, and I felt like
there was an aspect of what I wanted to do with.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
My life that.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Required a little bit more out of me, like more personality,
more easing my voice and.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
The case who you are?
Speaker 4 (08:14):
Yeah, yeah, and I but at that age, like I
didn't really know.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
I was just kind of more of a feeling.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
So then my friend and I I've like, so I've
never had.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
A nine to five.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
I've always either had like a crazy job like WW
or had.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
My own business.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
And my friend and I she was my best friend
at the time. We sup to Bartend together. We started
spread Ham business and we used to run a room
out of a local gym, like a bodybuilding gym, and
we would spread tamp people. And so we met a
lot of people in the fitness industry through that and competing,
and we met somebody who was He had a developmental
contract with WW for a period of time and he
never I don't know what happened if he quit or
(08:49):
was released or whatever, but he never made it to
the main roster. But we came into contact with him,
and he was like essentially presented this opportunity. He's like,
if you guys want to try out for W I
have a connection. I can get you guys a tryal whatever.
And so that's kind of how I opened my eyes
to this whole world that I stepped into.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Do you at least knew what wrestling was that?
Speaker 4 (09:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Yeah, I want especially here in.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
Houston, because Houston has a pretty good wrestling scene going
all the way back.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
To you know Paul.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
Yeah, I just I was never a huge wrestling fan
growing up. I watched some wrestling, like I remember loving Bader,
oh yeah yeah, and.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
Like Goldberg and yeah I heard that or I read
that you Goldberg was one of your main people that
you liked.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Yeah, yeah, it was interesting.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
I wasn't like a diehard wrestling fan like my brother
and I watched it here and there, and we would
you know, my brother and I are very close in
age or seventeen months apart, so we would, you know,
do dumb wrestling stuff, you know, like a different.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Are my brother end up walking is like, we're not
doing this?
Speaker 3 (09:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
So but when I got the opportunity, I was like, Okay, this,
I feel like, is that thing that I've been feeling,
like that next evolution of what I'm going to do
with my life and whatever. And it was just kind
of like presented to me. It's not like my friend
and I were like out there actively trying to find how.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Can we write, you know, getting WW contract or whatever.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
I just kind of came into my ecosystem and it
felt now like who I am now would say like
it felt very aligned. But then I was just like,
oh my gosh, this is like this is you know,
such an amazing opportunity. And I felt like it was
kind of a calling for what I was wanting to
do next, but didn't quite know what that.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Was at the time.
Speaker 5 (10:24):
Okay, see I always thought because I didn't actually hear
who had gotten you in so I in my head
because I know Triple Ith is very big into the bodyguild,
inguis has been and going to the Arnal Classic on
a regular basis, so I thought he may have found
you maybe at the Ronald Classic, and then right there.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
I ended up going to the Arnold. So I was
always going to the Arnold in the Olympia.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Were there. So they're so different now, just like anything evolves.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
But yeah, like I was such a fan of the
sport and like it was kind of the first community
that I felt I had outside of like high school
or like soccer or whatever, like kind of in my
adult life. It was like the first thing I felt
welcomed by, like because I had, I think so much
of my identity as a teenager when I first found
(11:12):
weightlifting and training in the gym and how to shape
my body and you know, my first mentor I felt
like I've belonged in a lot of ways and it
was kind of this, It was like a different it
was something.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Different for me, right, No, I love that.
Speaker 5 (11:24):
Yeah, it's always finding, especially right after you know, high school, college,
trying to actually find those people you really click with
and get along and be like Okay, yeah, I feel
it at piece here.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Yeah yeah, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 5 (11:34):
So okay, so you get into WWE, you've told the
story before you get about your.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
First real first match was on national television. Yeah, life,
there was.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
So I'll say this like before I talk about that.
Everything that happened in my life during w W like this,
the whole entire four years that I was with the company,
especially because I started so young when I was twenty three,
absolutely shaped me as like my character in life, like
who I am, because it was this and this is
(12:14):
only my friend of mine and my perception, but I
feel like for anybody it would be the opportunity of
a lifetime and you'd be crazy to not take your chance,
you know. So yeah, I got signed. So I went
and I tried out. My friend who came with me,
who also got the tryout. She's very beautiful, athletic, she
was she had gotten her pro card and figure in
(12:35):
the I Phoebe bodybuilding community, and she hated it first
day cause like you go when you spend a week
in the life of a developmental talent, And at that time,
they were still really hiring girls that didn't have experiences,
like if they had the look and they could talk
on the mic and yeah, so she you know, the
(12:55):
first day they taught us how to take a bump
and they was for a hundred times. I honestly don't
remember the first one, but I mostly remember the next day. Like,
you know, you feel like you're in a car accident
if you ever had whiplash whatever.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
That's exactly what it feels like.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
It's all the little muscles activated in your body that
you don't have awareness of normally yet.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
Yeah. And then my back from the ropes like it
was but I loved it. I loved it. And I
think that's why they do that, like it's a very
specific type of person.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
That's like.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Yeah yeah. So my friend was like, no way, and
she went home. She went home, and.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
I was like, dude, it's you know, I think she
felt bad or she was just like doing what was
right for her, which I understood. And I was like,
I'm gonna do which for me, which is I want
to stay. And I did like a really out there
promo so like at the Developmental Training Center at that time,
it's called FCWS in Dampa.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Yeah, just aware us, right.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
Yeah, yeah, like not what you would think for this
like billion dollar company.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Well especially what they see now, like that thing is
just mass Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
Yeah, the performance center is unbelievable. But then like.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Yeah, and like there was this I talked about this
sometimes where like the girl's locker room and there was
only like eight girls at the time, Like it was
it was like very small and I don't know how
many talent was there total, maybe seventy five and.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
It was very small amount of women.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
And our locker room you couldn't plug in more than
a few curling irons at once because it would like.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Short and it would just go fine. It was so funny. Yeah,
But so I got hired.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
I did a really I did, Like on Wednesdays we
would do it was like a promo day where literally
you stay there was a two practice rings in the
back and then upfront there was like the ring where
we would perform and do shows. And that's also where
we do our promos, like for promo day.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
And it was like so high pressure.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
All of your peers, like every single talent there, all
the coaches, and the week that I was there trying out.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Johnny Ace was there, Ty Bailey was there, who was
the head.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
Of talent, or he was doing like the hiring or whatever,
scouting or whatever.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
So there was like a bunch of people from the
office that I didn't even know. I knew who.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
Johnny Ace was and ty Billy because he's the one
that brought me in ultimately. And so I did this
like sen l skit, and I asked at the time
Derek Bateman to be in it with me because I
was like, he's funny.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Like I feel like, you know, this would be a
cool vibe.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
And so I did this like ridiculous skit and like
when I was done, it was like critic and then
Johnny A's laugh and then everybody saw yeah, yeah, yeah,
because it was just like weird because like there was
a I think one or two other girls that tried
out with me at the time, and there was it
was a very like Hi, I'm so and so and
I'm here yeah yea. And so when I went out
(15:34):
there and did this like super silly skit, everyone was like,
is that okay? You know, like you know, but I
think that that was one of the main reasons I
got hired. Yeah yeah, And I knew like I wasn't
refined at all in terms of speaking or knowing how
to speak on a mic or speak in front of people.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
But I knew I had.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
Like a very raw talent or aspect of me that
was very shapeable.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
So I wanted to.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
Express that, and so I got. Everything happened so fast.
I got home, I got a call. Within a couple
of weeks, got hired, moved, my mom drove, drove with
me from Houston to Tampa to fund an apartment before
I actually moved, found the apartment, moved all my stuff.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
It all happened so fast.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
And that was the first time I ever lived away
from my family my friends, Like I had never I
had barely traveled outside Texas before that. I had done
some like soccer tournaments in North Carolina and Florida, and
so it was just like my life completely changed in
like a month, like everything changed, and I was super nervous,
but I was also like, hell, yeah, you know this,
this I'm starting my life yep, you know. And I
(16:40):
I didn't have many friends. I was like felt very lone,
but I quickly made friends and j and I hit
it off right away. We started a friendship very very
early on. And the girls there at FCW.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Were really cool. They were really cool, and so yeah,
I found out.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
It was very hush hush, But at that time NX
had just gotten start that they had done two seasons
and it was still the reality based limination.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Oh my god, it was. So it was just the
humble beginnings of the.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
N XC right and yeah, the coach it was.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
It had been two all men seasons and then so
this third season was still a secret that it was
going to be all women. So they all the girls
that were in developmental had shot all their promos like
all like everything that they needed to debut on TV.
And then I was a talent there and I didn't
find out until a week or two before the show
debut that it was going to be you know, yeah,
(17:30):
it was very very like quiet. And then the company
also brought in so the starting roster was going to
be a j Naomi, Jamie Keys.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Maxine, and Oxana.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
And then the sixth girl or the sixth woman, was
this outside talent they had hired and they brought her
into kind of be like what I think the draw
to the show. This one was six', eight not a
built hyper legit. Height she was a, wrestler just kind
of like you couldn't social away BEFORE i don't, KNOW
i don't, know like all this was like crazy to,
(18:03):
me right like AND i CAUSE i was just finding
out this information like in real, time you. Know and
so they brought her in to training with the girls
to make sure that she was safe and like they you,
know they'd be able to wrestle with, her AND i,
like one of the funniest MEMORIES i have is like
she was she was her, gimmick, Right like she would
wear these huge heels and you, know and she would
hug you and like her boobs would sit on your
(18:24):
head that never happened to be. Before and it was
JUST i remember that like it's ingrained in my. Mind
and then so and then four days before the. Show
so at that, time they still Film Smacked on On tuesdays
and then they aired it On, fridays and so they
would shoot like one or two shows before they would
start Filming Smacked down main, event and Like, SUPERSTARS i
(18:45):
think they had for a while and there was like
a kid showed for a little bit and then they
were the first. Season the first episode of our season
of the next year was gonna air on The Sci
Fi network right before they started recording recording. Smackout, okay
so we had to go to brawl first day and
then and then travel and do the whole SmackDown. Deal
so there was four days before that, happened and they
(19:07):
let her. Go they let This her name Was, lindsay
the six foot eight. Girl her build NAME i think Was,
aluisa and she had done some like later, on she
did some LIKE tlc shows about like being a giant,
essentially like she's done some SOME tv. Stuff but they
let her go because they were really really in the
midst of that big rebrand of really wanting to make
(19:28):
the BRAND. Pg thirteen and she had DONE i think
she's just some like weird stuff online that didn't align
with what the image and so they fired. Her letter
go and called me and it Was Johnny ace that called.
Me he called me From connecticut AND i had just
left practice down In tampa And, i'm you, know driving
to the gym and he calls me and he tells,
Me he's, like you know you're, Up you're, up, Kid
(19:49):
AND i cried BECAUSE i was just, like oh my,
god you, Know i'm not. Ready i've literally never had a,
Match LIKE i didn't even have a. CHARACTER i DID i.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Did i've read On wikipedia you had some name they gave.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
Me so WHEN i first got down there and all
the new, talent they let us submit a list of,
names AND i wanted like a cool unisex, name and
SO i had put, like SO i gave a list
of first names and last, names and so they ended
up choosing the name out of the combinations THAT i gave,
them the name Ricky.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Von it was Ricky. VON i thought it was kind of.
COOL i had that name for two.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
DAYS i didn't get to wrestled with that, name but
but that was like WHAT i, was WHAT i was
given based off like kind of like my creative ideas
of WHAT i wanted kind of my gimmick and my
vibe to. Be and it was like kind of this tomboy.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Vibe you, Know they're just an exception of the way you.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Were.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
Yeah, Yeah BECAUSE i didn't really have anything else to work,
With i'm just, like you.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Know and SO i cried and THEN i SAID i
didn't have any.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
MONEY i was bartending at that, time right BEFORE i
got my, contract and the developmental contracts were very, small you,
know like.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
We weren't making very, much AND i had just gotten.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Signed so they had me drive to the school and
they gave me a thousand dollars pretty cash out of
the safe and they said them all BY dipa Clothes
and at that, Time i'm, like what does that? Mean
needless to, say, so the thing the out THAT i
bought to wear ON tv for the first, time they
did not let me wear AND i debuted In naomi's
sparkly pink, dress which is a complete antithesis of EVERYTHING i.
(21:15):
AM i think the dress was like Had it was
like an army green color and there was like black
mesh and it was.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Cool it was like my, vibe but it wasn't Like
diva FOR, TV i.
Speaker 4 (21:24):
Guess so it was kind of like my first taste
of like, OKAY i kind of got to like learn
a little.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
Bit about you.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
Know, yeah but, YEAH i got my nails AND i got.
HIGHLIGHTS i bought WHAT i could in terms of like
WHAT i THOUGHT i could wrestle. In but, again LIKE i,
HAD i had had some like very easily roll around
matches at.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
The school as much as you can do when you've
only been wrestling in a couple of. Weeks and, yeah
like SO.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
I thought this is a once in a lifetime. Opportunity
i'm going to just give it EVERYTHING i have AND
i have nothing to. Lose and the day THAT i
got TO tv On, monday which was the day before
that we the show, debuted they gave me the Name Caitlyn.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Johnny he's, like You're.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
Caitlin so literally got that name right WHEN i, debuted
and so it was just strange because first of, ALL
i didn't love the, name AND i in my mind
they were just, Like, okay this is You're you're essentially
filling a spot and you almost likely get voted off
and go back down to developmental and learn how to
train and bustle and maybe come back. Up that's kind
of what it felt. Like, Yeah and so the first
(22:28):
TIME i was ON tv is WHEN i really had
my first. Match so, crazy so, Crazy but there was
like this part of me WHERE i was just like,
like there's no way That i'm not going to do
EVERYTHING i can to succeed in this, position because, yes
LIKE i feel Like i've been training my whole life
(22:48):
for something AND i know THAT i have something, special.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
BUT i just didn't.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
KNOW i was so, Young like you didn't know how
to express THAT i know how to like really be
a leader in the way THAT i do, now AND
i didn't know how to carry myself in the way
THAT i do. NOW i didn't there were so many question.
MARKS i was so, young still learning about.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Everything you.
Speaker 6 (23:11):
Know, YEAH i mean that that old saying that you,
know the youth is was still young because once you
do get, older you have all those experiences and so looking, back,
OH i would totally would have maybe done.
Speaker 5 (23:21):
This OR i would have acted this way or whatever it. Was, Yes,
well once you've kind of got in the groove of,
well because you're still finding out who you, Were like you,
said you're only there for like four, years so you
were still kind of for the most part finding your
groove even finding your move. Set how did all of
that kind of come together for?
Speaker 2 (23:40):
You and who really.
Speaker 5 (23:41):
Backstage is kind of helping you out with the whole. Thing,
WELL i heard fit, Feeling.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Yeah fit for. Sure so fit was like WHEN i
first got, THERE.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
I learned that fit was referred to it the deep
a whisper because at that time it was very tumultuous
for women because it was like that it was like
that time right before that big women's evolution to talk.
Speaker 3 (24:00):
About so it was just kind of, Weird like there
was a lot of.
Speaker 4 (24:03):
Tension there was a lot of tension between the six
of us had who had come up from developmental and
the girls that were already on the main roster because
most of them weren't GETTING.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Tv times then morton.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
Storylines there was one women's match per, show and it
was usually like three or four, minutes.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
And so there was just like a lot of like
unrest and.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
Tension you could feel. It and so they really did
treat us like. Rookies we would you, know our locker
rooms were kind of like maintenance rooms or it. Was
and even if there were extra locker, ROOMS i think
that was like part of what they were putting us,
through like you, know if you essentially earn, it, yeah you.
Know and so there was like a lot of things
like that THAT i didn't. Understand just like with any,
(24:41):
industry there's a lot of like unwritten.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Rules yeah you're coming.
Speaker 5 (24:43):
Into a cut well yeah that the wrestling unwritten rules
thing is it's, crazy needs to write these down because
ask is That i've only been in this STRY i
guess four ish. Years even Now i'm, like, OH i
GUESS i.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
COULDN'T i shouldn't have done, It like.
Speaker 7 (24:59):
Some of them don't you work out Exact they're like
a crew, person but that works for the, building but
SO I so there was the tension of feeling LIKE
i just didn't know ever what was going, On and
a lot of times it felt like more pressure behind.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
The curtain than it did in front of the curtain
Because vince was always walking around backstage all the, writers,
producers triple age like important, people celebrity, guests so you
always kind of had to be, polished and they wanted.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
You to also be polished anywhere you were in public.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Too. Yeah he would always, say, like lave your.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Gammicked, Yeah so it was very confusing in terms of
like what is my?
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Gimmick you?
Speaker 4 (25:33):
Know? Yeah, yeah, So AND i think people at that
age are already asking that, Anyways AND i feel like
people that are.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
My age now still ask, that you.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
Know but when you're that, young you're it's like a
really big question, mark you, know and you have this amazing.
Opportunity there's all these influential, people powerful people around you
that can help elevate your, career teach you, things mentor,
you and so it's just like there was just constant
overthinking happening in my. Head like it was just you,
know and NOW i think, about, like oh my, gosh
(26:01):
all the people.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
That got to, meet all the, wisdom the amazing expertise and.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
Talent, yeah BUT i was so not present during that
time BECAUSE i was in my head like didn't want
to mess, up LIKE i wanted to make SURE i was,
doing you, know paying attention to the right, things and
SO i was kind of always like in an elevated triggered.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
State so you, know and it's just like what you're,
Saying like you look.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
Back and you're, like IF i knew how to be,
present like like things would have felt. DIFFERENT i would
have enjoyed seeing the world in a different way and
and AND i think experienced more or would be able
to take in more wisdom and advice and. Stuff but
Fit finley was amazing to. Me he, like of course
like joked with me and like kind of ribbed me
(26:42):
a little bit BECAUSE.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
I was so.
Speaker 4 (26:44):
New and but he was third generation, wrestler second.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
GENERATION i Don't i'm, NOT i don't.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Know but he WAS i, know his Kids japan too
good for, Him like that's super like fit is an amazing,
person AND i had a lot of compassion for.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Me in the situation THAT i was.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
In although it was an amazing, opportunity it was crazy
to Be it was a crazy position to be, in
like representing this global company and literally having zero, experience you,
know like it was just a weird position to be.
In and there was like all this pressure intention from
people that FELT i didn't deserve to be, there and
SO i was like wanting to prove, myself wanting to
(27:20):
move with, integrity like wanting to be really good at
this craft That i've only practiced a couple of, weeks
AND i wanted to win the, competition right because at
that time we were paired with the pro so somebody
there was already on the main, roster whether they were
a wrestler or a ballet or.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
Whatever AND i.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
Got paired With Vicky grow AND i was so fortunate
for that Because vicky was so good at what she.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
Did she was a monster. Heel she had so much pick.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Up a microphone of people who her for five, minutes
like that is like the, legitimate like that is the
definition of a. Heel and she had created, That and
SO i THOUGHT i knew there was a lot to
learn from, her EVEN i.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Was like this new babyface and we were very different
in a lot of.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
Ways BUT i felt so blessed and grateful even back
then to have her as my pro because of the
reaction that she would get from people and the respect
that she had from people backstage and in front of the,
camera so you know them the, story you, know BECAUSE
nx was, scripted but it was also reality based, too,
Right so like the voting on who was going to
(28:23):
win was, real, right AND i think the office had
some input on that, Too but the you, know it
was scripted in terms of the matches and the, storylines
and the whole story was That vicky was going to
bully me because she had all this heat and it
was going to help me kind of get over or
like get people behind me or believing in, me or
wanting me to overcome the adversity that comes with Having
(28:43):
Vicky girl as you're, pro you, Know and it was
really cool to witness her influence like, that those intangible
parts of somebody that can move an, audience that can you.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Know, pull pull and poke people's emotions.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
In a list a, response because that's As i've learned
later in my career that's what it's all.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
About it's not about you, know, yes, amazing if.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
You're a wonderfully technical wrestler and you're amazing in the,
ring you have awareness and body, awareness but if you
know those intangible, parts like you can be a. Star
AND i think, UNKNOWINGLY i was picking up a lot
of those things from the people that had a lot
of influence in that way BECAUSE i knew that the
technical part wasn't my, Thing LIKE i didn't spend ten
(29:29):
years leading up to that opportunity and right like literally zero.
EXPERIENCE i had my. ATHLETICISM i had this, weird strange
confidence THAT i don't know WHERE i. Came, Remember, YEAH
i HAD i THINK.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
I have a natural charisma to.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
ME i felt THAT i was the, look had a
lot of the look that they were looking. For SO
i had a lot of things working for, me and
THEN i was trying to learn the parts THAT i
didn't have.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
Yet you, know what makes somebody, powerful like.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
What makes somebody gain respect or gain, moments and in
an industry like, this and back THEN i couldn't tell
you that's WHAT i was. Doing but NOW i can
look back and be LIKE i was watching certain people
AND i was paying attention to certain people WHO i
fault had something to teach me beyond WHAT i could
read in a book or you, know how they, interacted
how they their, magnetism, right, like how they influence.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
People but So Fit finley was a, huge, huge, huge huge.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Help John tena was there any, Time, like AND i
feel Like i've been talking about this a lot.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
Because he's kind of at the end of his. Career
he's very present right, now. Right, yeah he was always
LIKE i think the way that people perceive him when.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
He's like a babyfacing like he is that, person like
he cares so much about the business and the integrity of
it and telling storytelling and because he understands what wrestling
is for.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
A lot of, people you, know and it. Is, Yeah
and he grew.
Speaker 5 (30:52):
Up at like as that giant kid that wanted to
be a wrestler and it worked out.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
And he stayed like so he would all because he
cared so much and his heart was so into it
and he'd invested so much of his life and energy
and you, know his life force into creating what he.
Did he was always willing to mentor who the people
that would take the, mentorship that would take the guidance,
right would ask, questions would ask you, know if you
Asked sina to watch your match and give you, feedback
(31:17):
if he had time and he, could he, would you,
know like and there was there was people like, That
and SO i learned a, lot not even directly asking him,
questions but just kind of like witnessing him teach other
people or talk to other people about a match that was,
happening or if he was out in the ring before the.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
Show LIKE i picked up a lot of things in
moments like. That, yeah and THEN aj helped me a.
LOT aj helped me a.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
Lot Eventually beth helped me a. Lot Eve, torres you,
know she.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
Taught me so much and she was me AND a
j used to joke that.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
She's like a Legit disney, princess like so beautiful and,
gorgeous like you, know like so kind and compassionate and
so smart and so good in the, ring so, athletic
like you, know she was like literally had.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Everything going for.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
Her now she's doing big things in the jiu jitsu world. Too,
yeah for women.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
Too she's amazing and she SO i think as a
human exemplar a human, Being LIKE i learned a lot from.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Her natty helped me a.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
Lot like there was just like moments WARY i did you,
KNOW i did get help from within the locker room
in the. Ring there was a lot of people that
didn't help, me WHICH i think is normal for somebody
in my position or really anybody in that.
Speaker 8 (32:25):
Position, yeah because it's still like it's still show, business
and so you HAVE i heye Say, caddy but you
have those people that think that you're trying to take
their smart and it's. NOT i, mean there might be
some people that, aren't but you're just trying.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
To add to.
Speaker 5 (32:39):
It you're trying to you're trying to just make money
for everybody and give the fans an experience that didn't you.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Know yeah take. FOREVER a rising tide raises all, Shit yes.
Exactly AND i knew, That LIKE i knew that in my.
Heart so LIKE i knew that a lot of the
ways THAT i was being treated in the locker room wasn't.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
Right and that's not HOW i would do it IF
i was in a leadership. Position but at.
Speaker 4 (32:59):
That, age LIKE i didn't have the understanding of how
to have leadership to influence people in a way that
was the you, know the way THAT i saw things
or WHAT i felt was. Right and SO i had
a hard time connecting with a lot of the divas
that were there that we kind of had seniority WHEN.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
I got, there.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Because like there was just certain things about HOW i
was told to get ahead there that didn't resonate with
me That i'm, like this isn't WHO i, am you,
know like how to play the, game you, know and
like who to buddy up. With it's so, stupid, Right
and it's like it's like you can't do that forever because,
eventually like a part of you will be so loud
(33:39):
that you can't deny, it, right like the truth of
who you. Are and so if you act like somebody
you're non and you act out of, integrity eventually that
cats up with it catches up with. You AND i
again like wouldn't be able to put that in words back,
then but like it was a feeling THAT i.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Had so there's a part of. THAT i really wanted
to stay true to the way.
Speaker 4 (33:55):
That the things THAT i valued in terms of like
being a human being and how to people and HOW
i would do.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
Things IF i was in a leadership.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
Position BUT i would say, that LIKE, i what my
career became was a product of so many different, people
so many different, experiences and so many different things like.
Travel gurorow helped me a, lot and he was always Around,
vicky you, Know So vicky helped. Me travel helped, me
AND i got help with different things from different, people you.
Know BUT i would say That eve was a, huge
(34:26):
huge impact on. ME aj and Fit fit is actually the, reason,
like you, know the REASON i even got a title
shot is Because fit had been gone for a. Year,
okay SO i went AN xt, RIGHT i got a
spot On. SmackDown i didn't have a debut BECAUSE i
was in this weird limbo.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
POSITION i wasn't a skilled. WRESTLER i had very.
Speaker 4 (34:47):
Little, experience but they were honoring the fact that when
you win an X t you get a spot on
the main, roster, right so it's still technically. Developmental so
every TIME i would be on these, loops the travel
loops WERE tv and THEN i would have to go
straight back To.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
Tampa and go to this school to train SO i
could learn how to.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
Wrestle and it was, crazy LIKE i got super burnout
just even like during.
Speaker 5 (35:05):
The because the travel scheduled then you only days off
work Maybe, tuesday but they.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Were recording SmackDown, then so it was We, wednesday we
got Home wednesday.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
Morning, yeah they put you on the earliest flight, possible
say five, am five quarter to five am.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
Flights and but that's what we all wanted because we
went in to get home for.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
Sure so then you and then you would Leave friday,
morning so you get you'd have half A, wednesday you'd
be dog, Tired LIKE i would get Home, wednesday get groceries.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Unpacked do, laundry and Then thursday it was kind of
my day to re emerge into the.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
World and then typically there would be a show AT
fcw On thursdays.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
AND i have to go to.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
That and so ANYTIME i wasn't on like a, LOOP
i was supposed to be at the, school SO.
Speaker 3 (35:40):
I forgot WHERE i was. At but fin oh. Fit.
Speaker 4 (35:43):
Yeah so SO i was kind of just in this
weird limbo position for a year and a half after N.
Xt AND i you, know my, BROTHER i would he you,
know he's the closest person to me in my. Life
there was so many conversations Where i'd be Like i'm
gonna quit, Today LIKE i Think i'm just gonna, quit
and he'd be, like you, know like you, know in
a lot of our conversations were had to be a text.
(36:05):
Message WHEN i was sitting in the locker room just
like so, Defeated like AND i was writing.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
STORYLINES i was writing. Storylines stayed ON tv.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
Because that's like if you're not ON tv and you
want to be ON, tv be, proctic like, write give
the writer's, ideas let them pitch, Them give the writer's
ideas that they can shape and pitch for.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
You one of them's gonna, work you.
Speaker 4 (36:23):
Know and SO i was doing, that AND i had
FINALLY i had started writing a. Story it was like
when the like the big there was a big general manager's, thing,
right it was Like Teddy long And BOOKER. T AND
i think it Was BOOKER t who was the general
manager Of. SmackDown AND i essentially wrote this whole storyline
WHERE i was going to be the assistant general manager
(36:45):
AND i was going to get it was gonna be
a bit at that, time the most important Role i'd
had in my career at that, point aside from WINNING.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
Nxt so you, KNOW i wasn't REALLY i was doing
some matches here and.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
THERE i would just get my like ass, kicked you,
know and then some backstage stuff with the, rock you,
know like you're kind of an extra in the back.
Grounds and SO i hadn't really had a career defining
moment from being on the main.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Roster yet after like a year and a half and
SO i.
Speaker 4 (37:10):
Know but but at that, TIME i was also doing live,
events SO i was learning how to wrestle as AS
i as we were, going SO i WOULD i was
getting this live wrestling experience without THE tv, cameras you.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
Know SO i was LIKE i was learning.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Which lives are. BETTER i, Think, oh there's so much.
Better there's so much.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
Fun, Fun they're so. Fun we.
Speaker 4 (37:28):
Loved we would have the time of our. Lives and like,
eventually like the years in WHEN i had that storyline
WITH e AND, aj we were traveling together for a,
while like we would have we would mess with each
other so much in the ring because he would vallet
our matches so he would be on the outside of the,
ring and it was just so much like Ridiculous snannigan's
at the live, events and it was super.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
Fun but that's HOW i really actually learned how to.
Wrestle and THEN i had written a storyline.
Speaker 4 (37:54):
To to be the general the assistant general, manager and
the writers like and it started getting some, traction and
So eve.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
WAS i was a, babyface a pure, bayface And eve was.
Speaker 4 (38:05):
Kind of the opposition like she was ALSO i, THINK
i don't know IF i wrote it or they added it,
in But eve was kind of the person that was
the heel that was trying to get the spot THAT
i was trying to. Get and so we ended up
having like a little bit of a, storyline and we
had done some backstage segments and step in the day
that we were supposed to have a, match and the
match was going to determine who was going to get
(38:26):
the assistant general manager. SPOT i was supposed to win
the way the the way the story was, written AND
i wrote this story and it.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
Was shaped by the.
Speaker 4 (38:32):
Writers, YEAH i was supposed to get that. Spot and
the day that we were supposed to, WRESTLE i REMEMBER
i had done a photo shoot for. It W w
magazine was still, around and they had dressed me as
A Ultimate, warrior and that photo just popped up on
my phone the other.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
Day ACTUALLY i should fill that picture this morning or.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
Yesterday BUT i was dressed up and as A Ultimate
warrior did a pull photo shoot AND i was in
the makeup everything out at the ring where EVEN i
were starting to put our match, together and then tom
our writer came out and told me That bence switch
it and he was gonna win and she was going
to get this. Spot AND i was, LIKE i wrote
this storyline And vince just changed it and that wasn't
like super uncommon.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
Like that's SO i was like.
Speaker 4 (39:10):
Devastating HERE i am dressed like The Ultimate, warrior like
all geared, out and Then i'm just this is devastating
news because to, me LIKE i had been building for
weeks at a time THAT i was going to finally
finally get this position like WHERE i was a main
character on the, show was going to be ON, tv
AND i felt LIKE i had earned, it you, know
and because all the, while behind the, SCENES i was
busting my, ass learning how to, wrestle learning the, industry you,
(39:33):
know refining.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
Myself and then SO i was like.
Speaker 4 (39:37):
Devastated and then within a couple of weeks after That
fit came, Back.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
Fit was gone for a.
Speaker 4 (39:42):
Year he was gone like on hiatus for a year
and the day that he came back Was Monday Night,
raw and it was all the women on the, roster
both smacked down And, raw we're gonna be in about
a role for the number.
Speaker 3 (39:54):
One contender for the. Title AND i think the way
the match.
Speaker 4 (39:59):
Was desig Before fit got, THERE i was going to be, eliminated,
second second or.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
Third it was like Me, temina like you, know somebody.
Speaker 4 (40:07):
ELSE i can't even remember BECAUSE i was so low
in the total, pole like it didn't.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
Matter, Right like it was just a number background grower get.
Speaker 4 (40:13):
Yes but it was still cool because it was, like you,
know ANYTIME i got to Being, RAW i was.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
School and all the divas like kind of a big,
deal you.
Speaker 5 (40:21):
Know and, well like you said back, then you your
match was maybe three minutes, long and there was that
it was it or some or you're a valet or you're.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
Just in the.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
Background, yeah and these you, know we're all getting ready
the entire.
Speaker 4 (40:32):
Day you. Know it's like, yeah, yeah and it's so you,
KNOW i was excited anyways whatever we could to Be,
unraw And fit shows up And i'm standing in the
area outside Of griller by myself JUST i don't know
WHAT i was. Doing and he sees me and he's
looking at the card and he's looking at The diva's
match and he's, like why.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
Aren't you ON?
Speaker 4 (40:53):
Tv and it was like the realist question, ever like
he was like kind of messing with you with, me
but he's also, like you, know let's to do AND
i was just LIKE i don't, know LIKE i can't tell,
you and it was like. Sad and so he takes
the card and HE i THINK i don't know if
it was just the women's match or the card, itself
but he essentially like scribbled it.
Speaker 3 (41:11):
Out and so he's, like you've been on BECAUSE i
think he was.
Speaker 4 (41:14):
Watching the product for a little bit before he came,
back and so he's, like you've had a storyline With,
eve And eve was supposed to win the number one
contender for that, match she was supposed to win the,
match and so he's, like you're gonna be in there
last with, Her and this was, like to, me this
was the hugest moment of my career at that, point
just even being in there second to, last you, know
that would have been the MOST tv Time i've, had you,
know as someone on the, roster and so it was
(41:39):
like the coolest day and the match. Happened Brad maddox was.
Roughing he had never done LIVE tv. Yet he was a,
rough you. Know they had just made him a ROUGH i,
think or maybe he was a rough, before but he
came up on the road as a talent or a,
WRESTLER i.
Speaker 3 (41:54):
Think but so his first time roughing LIVE.
Speaker 4 (41:58):
Tv and this spot was it was just supposed to
close On eve. Over she was gonna, flip hang, on
pull me, out AND i was gonna be eliminated and
she was gonna be number one. Contender layla was sitting
up therenounce table on commentary and holding the, title you,
know AND i Hit eve and the physics were off
(42:18):
and she didn't.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
Go it wasn't like enough power behind it or you,
know the physics were.
Speaker 4 (42:22):
Off, yeah so we set up the spot again AND
i hit her so hard the second time BECAUSE i was,
like that's not happen, again and.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
She flipped over and couldn't hold.
Speaker 4 (42:29):
Up, oh so she gets eliminated AND i went because
that was the last one in the, Ring and so
it was truly like the shock of a, lifetime and.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
It was you, know there's only seven seconds to. Lay
there's nothing you can do about it.
Speaker 4 (42:39):
ON, tv and so you, Know Brad maddox had fins
and everybody in his ear like grab.
Speaker 3 (42:45):
Her, hand celebrate BECAUSE i was just standing there like
a deer in the, headlights like.
Speaker 4 (42:50):
AM i gonna get? Fired like you, know because it's
kind of like you just never knew what was gonna,
happen and SO i was, LIKE i was celebrating the.
Moment SO i was, like holy, shit you, know is
this gonna? Stick I'M i actually gonna get a. Shot
all these things going through my, head and so you,
know we go to commercial or you, know like lights
go down AND i walk back To gorilla like having.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
No idea what to.
Speaker 4 (43:10):
EXPECT i as soon AS i moved the, Curtain eve
is crying AND i get, that, yeah cause it was
just like this whole spot got blown, up you, know
and like s she was, upset AND I i, understood
And vince was, laughing and tom our writer came and
grabbed me and he was, like oh my, god like
he was alreay excited about and he was like he
kind of was like on this journey with, Me LIKE
i think we were in the same, position but he
(43:31):
him as a writer and me as a, wrestler and.
Speaker 3 (43:34):
He was like some of the girls already came out
to me with ideas of how to write you.
Speaker 4 (43:37):
Out of the number one contender, spot AND i was,
Like i'm not gonna let it, happen you.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
Know and he was advocating for.
Speaker 4 (43:43):
Me and THEN i had So i'm like Leaving gorilla,
right and everyone had witnessed. It everybody knew it was a,
botch you, know like AND i was it was so
unexpected for me to have won that, match so everybody
knew it was like What and SO i had people
that were like hugged me and they were, like oh my,
God i'm so happy for. You, congratulations like talent and some,
crew you, know BECAUSE i think so many of them
(44:04):
witnessed and understood WHAT i was experiencing because they were
going to do the same. Thing and then there SO
i ended up not getting written, out and then that
eventually led to several months down the line WHEN i
won the.
Speaker 5 (44:17):
Title, YEAH i read that you had multiple shots at
the title and then.
Speaker 2 (44:21):
You, know the whole being attacked and yeah, Storyline, yeah
but you did eventually win in your hometown Of.
Speaker 3 (44:28):
Houston, yeah which was crazy as a baby.
Speaker 4 (44:30):
Face of, course you know it Was normally they kind
of shipped on you when you're in for, sure you
just expect, it, right and it, was but it was
it's it was the twentieth, anniversary so it was like
a big.
Speaker 3 (44:43):
Show it was a Huge my whole family was.
Speaker 4 (44:45):
There AND i wore a Don't mess With texas t,
shirt you, know LIKE i can think.
Speaker 3 (44:49):
IT i got out like a gas station or buckets or.
Speaker 4 (44:50):
Something and it was so cool because the night before
that match we, had we were In New york and
And eve AND i had a singles match AT. Msg oh,
wow non, televised it was a live event and it
was one of the coolest moments in my. Life so
and at these live, events so we were going through
(45:12):
a transition.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
With the divas who was essentially.
Speaker 4 (45:18):
Doing agenting our, matches, okay and we were Before fit came,
back and then it couldn't always be with, us so
on the live events sometimes like we would have different.
Agents nobody wanted the women's, match, Right but so at
this random day where we have the show AT, msg
me And eve had a singles like, this MY i
wrestled a singles match In Madison Square. Garden it was legit,
cool And On anderson was our. Producer, yeah AND i
(45:42):
had never had him as an agent for my, match
and he was always like arn would always in any.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
Time it was usually on live.
Speaker 4 (45:49):
Events like he would usually have like the main, event
the top, guys and he would be agenting their.
Speaker 3 (45:53):
Stuff but anytime he got the opportunity to witness.
Speaker 4 (45:56):
My match or have a moment with me, privately he
would tell, me you need to wrestle.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
More Like, beth you need to, arrest you need to wrestle.
Speaker 4 (46:03):
Stronger and so that was always kind of his thing with,
me AND i didn't know how to take his advice
BECAUSE i didn't know how to do that in the
ring with the other girls that didn't necessarily have respect for,
me OR i hadn't hadn't gotten over enough, Yet.
Speaker 3 (46:17):
LIKE i didn't know how to integrate it into my.
Speaker 4 (46:19):
Wrestling LIKE i JUST i GOT i understood, it BUT
i don't THINK i saw myself that. Way, yeah it
was LIKE i didn't know what my identity was as a.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
WRESTLER i was.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
KIND i started calling myself the hybrid diva BECAUSE i
was just Like i'm kind of like the pretty, ones
But i'm also like not, Like i'm kind of Like.
Bed and SO i struggled a lot with my identity
of HOW i, fit and So arne helped us put
our match, together and he KNEW i was gonna win
the title the next, day or it was supposed to
be what was gonna, happen and SO i was gonna
(46:48):
go over that night in AN, msg and he gave
me the. SPEAR i had never done the spear as a,
finisher And eve took it like the absolute champion that
she is told it and because it was so, good
they allowed me to do that finisher for the title.
Match and that's HOW i got My spirits, Finisher like
it was.
Speaker 3 (47:08):
On he just gave it to me one NIGHT. Msg yeah, random, yeah.
Speaker 4 (47:12):
Yeah but it was like he's he had been telling
me this stuff for a long, time you, know AND
i think it was like his opportunity to give me
something that was going to elevate my career or just
elevate my, confidence or give me something that was very signature.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
Me and because it went so, great he got to say.
Speaker 4 (47:28):
That you, know the production meeting the next, day and
SO i got to use it as, finisher so.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
That feeling you win the, title you got to celebrate.
Afterwards where do you guys go to?
Speaker 3 (47:37):
CELEBURTH i think we.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
Went do you have to?
Speaker 3 (47:39):
Travel SO i don't REMEMBER i.
Speaker 4 (47:42):
DID i. WENT i went out to eat with my.
FAMILY i THINK i drove the next morning or something.
TOO i think because we had a show like In
dallas right After. Houston, yeah BECAUSE i Had i'm pretty
sure it Was dallas BECAUSE i.
Speaker 3 (47:53):
TOOK i had to take New champion. PHOTOS i remember.
Speaker 4 (47:56):
Being In, dallas and so there is a place Called.
Speaker 3 (48:00):
Ross sushi THAT i used to always go to AND
i BEFORE i moved.
Speaker 4 (48:03):
To florida for, Wrestling so we just fell went there
and it was super, chill AND i had like an
one eyelash, on you.
Speaker 3 (48:10):
KNOW i just like wanted to see my.
Speaker 4 (48:11):
Family view with him and everyone my some of my
best friends were there and it was. Amazing BUT i
THINK i was still like so kind of shocked by
all of. It it was hard for me to take it,
in of, course AND i KNEW i had to be
on the road in the, morning so it was.
Speaker 5 (48:27):
Just kind of you, know it's just always funny hearing
those stories because like it's you, know The jericho story
of how he won the title and then goes to
his hotel afterwards and you just celebrate by himself trying
to get, pizza ends up locked out of his, hotel
goes back down guys LIKE i still canna. Help he's
LIKE i was literally just down. Here so it's like
you win a title and.
Speaker 2 (48:47):
In your head like, yeah giant, party and then, no
you gotta go travel and somewhere else the next.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
Name.
Speaker 4 (48:51):
Yeah, YEAH i FELT i felt, like you, know the whole,
time from the very beginning of getting the opportunity to
be signed with the company and then like the WHOLE
nxt thing and then getting respondedment and, roster like the
whole goal was to get the, title, right cause that's actually, epitome,
yeah and because you know it's obviously scripted in, storyline
but it's a certain right of passage to be somebody
(49:14):
who they would put a.
Speaker 2 (49:15):
Title, on, right you, know they feel good enough about
you the, title.
Speaker 4 (49:18):
Yeah and so it's this huge, honor you. Know and
so that's the, goal, Right like why.
Speaker 3 (49:22):
Else would you be there if you don't want to
be the, champ you? Know and SO i THINK i
had put so much into the idea of, that.
Speaker 4 (49:30):
And there was a lot of other things in my
life THAT i felt LIKE i was, sacrificing but it
was so worth it to, Me like it was very
hard to have normal friendships and, relationships and at that,
time it was, LIKE i, mean you go from this
insane adrenaline rush of performing in front of thousands of
people and then if it's raw or some a pay
(49:50):
per view or, something millions of people at home and it's.
Speaker 3 (49:53):
Live so you have this intense.
Speaker 4 (49:56):
Pressure and, adrenaline and then you go to your hotel
room and you're either by yourself or you have a
roommate and they're, tired just as tired as, you and
maybe you talk for a little bit and maybe eat something,
together but you just go to, sleep you, know when you're,
tired or you're driving three or four hours after, that
and it's just like you don't really have time to
process everything that, happens because as soon as you get,
(50:17):
home you have two. Days most of it is done
doing things that need to be done around your house
or to get ready to go on the next, loop
that you don't really have done to process everything that
happens like it just becomes a blur and you kind
of like lose. Yourself and THEN i didn't have any
like tools or modalities or anything to be, grounded you,
Know LIKE i didn't know how to. MEDITATE i didn't
know what that. WAS i didn't know what it meant.
Speaker 3 (50:36):
To clear your.
Speaker 4 (50:36):
Mind LIKE i was just always living in my head
and always stressed, out you, Know and it took a
huge toll on, me like, mentally, emotionally physically at a certain,
point and that's eventually WHY i. LEFT i was struggling
so bad with just like being, okay you, know AND
i didn't the way THAT i grew, UP i wasn't taught.
Speaker 3 (50:53):
A lot OF i, think in my, opinion communication.
Speaker 4 (50:54):
Skills of like how to ask for, help AND i
think that's hard for, anybody but even to know what to,
say like how do you express what you're?
Speaker 3 (51:02):
Experiencing like is it and then you get.
Speaker 4 (51:04):
Afraid like AM i just? Depressed or is there something
wrong with? Me or you, know DO i have?
Speaker 2 (51:08):
Issues or?
Speaker 4 (51:10):
Yeah so that's it was like this crazy cycle THAT
i was experiencing towards the, end and it wasn't even
LIKE i think it was so this is originally WHAT
i was.
Speaker 3 (51:18):
Saying getting the title didn't fulfill me.
Speaker 4 (51:21):
Right like it did in a lot of, ways and
because like hell, yeah LIKE i did all, THIS i
can kill to this, person Right, LIKE i knew the
things THAT i had internally endured and struggled through and
still showed up, through AND i knew the ways that
it had refined me as a, person and, like you,
(51:41):
Know i'll never trade any of those things because it's
like WHO i, am you, Know it's WHY i.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
Am the way THAT i.
Speaker 4 (51:47):
Am but it didn't fulfill me in the way THAT
i had hoped or, dreamed you, know and because it
doesn't really change.
Speaker 3 (51:55):
Anything it's like when you have a birthday and someone's,
like how do you? Feel do you feel? Older and you're,
LIKE i just kind of feel like it's the next.
Day and that's HOW i.
Speaker 4 (52:01):
Felt AND i also had this kind of like feeling
of impending doom of, like, Okay eve's. Gone what is
going to define my? Title you, know like my Championship
and it never quite. Happened right towards the, end WHEN
i had my feud WITH, aj WHICH i think.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
Was the most notable part of my, career but you,
KNOW i.
Speaker 4 (52:19):
Had the title for five months and it was kind
of just like MCAUSE i didn't even have a match During.
Speaker 3 (52:24):
Medium WHEN i was a, CHANGE i was.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
LOOKING i was, LIKE i don't think she.
Speaker 3 (52:26):
WAS i was never a part Of, mania and it
WAS i kind of expected, it LIKE i had kind
of like the way things were.
Speaker 4 (52:32):
GOING i wasn't in brilliant a storyline AND i knew
at that Rustle mania they were Introducing Total.
Speaker 3 (52:37):
Divas So Total divas was.
Speaker 4 (52:40):
The first time that so THEY ww had partnered with
THE E network and so it Was Bella, twins LIKE
i can't. Remember it was like mainly The. Bellatwins It's.
BARBIE i THINK i don't know if part of was on.
IT i wasn't a part of. It and we were
told By events himself That Total divas was not going
to affect storylines and ultimately immediately effect the storylines like
(53:02):
it was the champion AND i didn't even have a
backstage at wressemeny like literally no, part no mention In,
WrestleMania and they were introduced champions, right and so it
felt like the titleman nothing AND i blame, myself, no you,
know like that's.
Speaker 3 (53:19):
What that's what you feel.
Speaker 4 (53:20):
Like you're you're you, know you're holding the, title and you're,
like MAYBE i did something wrong to WHERE i didn't
get myself into a position to be irrelevant enough.
Speaker 3 (53:27):
To have a match at the, media you. Know BUT
i also, understood LIKE i understood that they were introducing Toil.
Speaker 4 (53:32):
Viva this is the first time that don't do you
was gonna are the, Win we're gonna have any kind
of representation on awork a network that was like so, Mainstream.
Speaker 3 (53:39):
So it was. Cool but mena was that do you,
remember WHICH i don't.
Speaker 4 (53:43):
Know it was twenty thirteen, Though so if you do the,
math forty one you said forty one forty one those
twelve years, Ago, okay so twenty, Nine, okay that sounds.
Speaker 2 (53:56):
RIGHT i was at that, One, okay you. Were i've
been the last sixteen minus oh.
Speaker 5 (54:01):
Yeah we almost didn't go this year or last year
BECAUSE tka started pricing people out and it's absolutely insane
to get.
Speaker 3 (54:07):
Tickets they felt weird too WITH. I i wanted.
Speaker 4 (54:13):
To they were In houston for the day Before New
Year's eve that was, there AND i wanted to take
my brother and his wife And phil and his, Daughter
so that would have been four comps or five maybe
and they were only tip SO i had to reach
out TO e to give me his comps that he would.
(54:33):
Get so, yeah there was like some changes who to
SO i get.
Speaker 5 (54:37):
That apparently THE ufc fans are also having issues because
like three hundred.
Speaker 2 (54:41):
Dollars for nosebleed.
Speaker 5 (54:42):
Seats, yeah like the SmackDown was just a dkis In
Fort worth and nose seats for.
Speaker 4 (54:48):
That's?
Speaker 3 (54:48):
Wild yeah that's A tv?
Speaker 2 (54:51):
Show what are you?
Speaker 3 (54:51):
Doing, yeah it's. Insane do you have any.
Speaker 5 (54:55):
Fun traveling with the title? Stories BECAUSE i always hear
people going THROUGH tsa and.
Speaker 2 (55:01):
They're, like, oh what are you champion? Of that kind of?
Thing and The Davas belt is pretty. Unique it's not.
Speaker 3 (55:05):
Just there, WAS i mean nothing really too much THAT
i can.
Speaker 4 (55:12):
Remember LIKE i was going through a lot, Already SO
i think a lot of that was a blur for
me because you know it was LIKE i was a,
champ but to, ME i was just over analyzing AM
i doing? Enough like AM I AM.
Speaker 3 (55:27):
I gonna lose? It you, know like it was, hard
very hard for me to enjoy.
Speaker 4 (55:30):
It BUT i AND i was also booked a lot
more for like appearances like be a, star like those
those different.
Speaker 3 (55:36):
Like organizations that they.
Speaker 4 (55:37):
Had BECAUSE i was The Women's, CHAMPION i was booked for.
Speaker 3 (55:40):
A lot of, stuff and so if it was just a,
blur it was a, blur but it was.
Speaker 4 (55:44):
COOL i got to do a lot of like radio
shows the morning Before SmackDown.
Speaker 3 (55:49):
Or raw whatever and morning.
Speaker 6 (55:51):
RADIO i.
Speaker 9 (55:52):
Am but that part was super cool because it really
refined me in terms of just how to show, up you,
know because BECAUSE i also it was a big honor
to be Representing women's, division you, know on A tv
show or radio station or something like, that or some.
Speaker 4 (56:07):
Kind of appearance where there's a bunch of. Kids so
that was cool to. Me it was the coolest part
of being a. Champ, actually, yeah we just got To
it was just you're representing the face of the all
the women that are in W. W so it was
just that's kind of HOW i looked at, that AND
i think that's WHERE i had the most. Pride but
AND i didn't really feel like it was in the,
ring you, KNOW i didn't really feel. That but WHEN
(56:30):
aj AND i started our feud and which eventually led
to me losing the, title to her.
Speaker 3 (56:37):
That Was that's the number one thing.
Speaker 4 (56:40):
That people talk to me about at wrestling appearances is
like my feud WITH aj also because like her AND
i put everything into. That we were kind of telling
we put ourselves over On, twitter like our friendship that's you,
know we Got we got the announcer to start calling
us the, chickbusters and we started On twitter and it
was just like a joke at, first and we just
(57:00):
started to try to get our personalities over in our
friendship over and, eventually like we talked to the commentation
that you, know the announcers enough times about commentary during our,
matches like hey say, this say, this you, know and
they started telling our story in the way that we.
Wanted and so we had put so much into that
and we had busted our asses and we had gotten
our we had got our ask.
Speaker 3 (57:19):
Kicks so many times we Had beth And.
Speaker 4 (57:20):
Natty ON, tv you, know like just we, Paid we
paid for, it you, know like we understood our assignment for.
Ourselves like when we kind of had this like unspoken
like we're just gonna put it all out, there you,
know like we're just gonna go for. It and her
AND i were dealing with our own internal things and
trying to support each other the best we, could and
then you, know dealing with relationship stuff behind the, scenes
(57:43):
and it was very difficult and got complicated in many
ways for a lot of. People you, know it's hard
to have like substantial world, relationships and especially when you
kind of like need a significant.
Speaker 2 (57:54):
Other you, know like sounding, board kind to and also
comforting as. Well, yeah so just kind of like.
Speaker 4 (58:00):
Hear the crazy stuff that you're going, through and like
just because it's like there would.
Speaker 3 (58:04):
Be times WHERE i wouldn't talk to.
Speaker 4 (58:05):
My mom for a couple of, weeks AND i felt
like it was just like too much to tell. Her you,
Know i'm LIKE i don't even know where to, start you, Know,
like and and so we were that for each other
a lot of, Time like just we were so, close
and we traveled together a, lot and and so we
had Been she had taught me a lot AND i
had you, know we were just there for each, other
and so we just felt like we earned.
Speaker 3 (58:29):
It so so at our title, match.
Speaker 4 (58:32):
Which Was payback The paper In, chicago which is the
best arena. EVER i, biased, obviously but it's like such
a dope, arena to perform.
Speaker 3 (58:40):
In like it's just the way that it's.
Speaker 2 (58:41):
Built i've always heard the acoustics and the amazing.
Speaker 4 (58:45):
Fans fans are, crazy and the arena like backstage is
really cool, Too like it's just a. Vibe and you,
know we had put so we had got like so there's, uh.
Speaker 3 (58:56):
There's something CALLED i can't remember it right, now it's
evading my.
Speaker 4 (59:00):
Mind but there's like these really important parts on the
show where there's a high probability that people will change the.
Channel so it's like right where it goes from eight
to nine, turnover like that that segment that's really important
to captivate people to not change the channel at that
turn of the. Hour, Right so we were getting some
of those, spots like you, Know AJ's career was, skyrocket you,
(59:24):
know she was with danie'brian and, like you know all
the amazing stuff that she, did and so we were
getting they were trusting, us and we were having these
crazy high rated segments and so they were giving us
these like these really important segments ON tv and so
we were like just owning, it you, know and we
were just like, yeah and it was so fun and
(59:45):
we felt so proud of, ourselves and like she got
merched and THEN i got, merched and like that was
the first merch for women at that time that was
LIKE t shirts and you, know cool, shit and it
was just like we were just best, friends you, know
and wait and so that and she had she was
somebody who had worked her whole life for the. Title
(01:00:06):
AND i witnessed that not just from her saying that
and telling that, story but just from like the way
she loved, wrestling the way she loved the artistry of,
it the things that she taught, me you, know like
just every every part of. It and SO i knew
it was so well deserved despite the rocky things that
we were, experiencing you, know LIKE i think everybody, does
and especially in the position.
Speaker 3 (01:00:25):
That we were.
Speaker 4 (01:00:25):
In you, KNOW i was going through a lot of
weight fluctuations And vince was like being really hard on
me ON tv and it kind of. Sucked and she
was like a part of that in a, way but
like didn't really feel right about. It like it was
just a lot of like weird undertones that we were
just trying to navigate through to keep telling our story
and try to keep, going you, Know and we both
knew that end goal was for her to get the.
Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
Title and to mean, something and you, know and it.
Did it meant a, lot you, know.
Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
And well she's the tattoo on her back for a,
neck right.
Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
Yeah, Yeah AND i felt so honored and privileged for
that person to be, me you, know for, that for
that the title handover us to win the title for,
me LIKE i wouldn't have wanted it to go to
literally anybody.
Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
Else especially the way THAT i won the title was so.
Special you, retired you, Know so to, me that really
defined my title run is in my.
Speaker 4 (01:01:12):
Title reign is the way that it was transitioned into
the next so and.
Speaker 3 (01:01:18):
Then after, that LIKE i, again LIKE i, SAID.
Speaker 4 (01:01:20):
I was a gaining way and like TOTAL eva stuff was,
happening AND i was randomly like IF i was in a,
MATCH i was kind of like on the heel side
because the total the baby faces and it was just.
Weird it was just, strange AND i like didn't want
to be there, anymore AND i was just like what El,
like what DO i want to do with my?
Speaker 3 (01:01:38):
Life and the day.
Speaker 4 (01:01:41):
SO i debuted In baltimore FOR, nxc and there was
like this weird change in how they were booking talent
for near the end WHEN i, Left so in the
beginning of twenty, fourteen no matter, what for every every
single week THAT i was with W, W i always got.
Speaker 3 (01:01:59):
Travel this is when you're this is your flight out
and this is your return. Flight AND i didn't get.
Speaker 4 (01:02:04):
TRAVEL i would always get it on A wednesday for
My friday travel or whatever. Day AND i didn't get.
It i'd reach out to the writer AND i was,
like AM i just not coming TO? Tv AND i
kind of like saw it coming in a way because
LIKE i just wasn't booked for a.
Speaker 3 (01:02:15):
While it was it had been like six months since
SINCE i.
Speaker 4 (01:02:17):
Lost the, title AND i was just doing random stuff
LIKE i didn't have the main stoiling and that's, Fine
LIKE i know there's peaks and valleys like AND i
KNOW i was.
Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
Just going through a. Lot and they had told me
to lose.
Speaker 4 (01:02:28):
Weight a couple of, times like the, office you, know
because LIKE i had visibly.
Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
CHANGED i was probably like twenty pounds heavier.
Speaker 5 (01:02:34):
Than WHEN i start saying that you part of your
coping was kind of you were drinking a.
Speaker 3 (01:02:39):
Lot of the, time but not WHEN i was.
Speaker 4 (01:02:40):
Wrestling like that came way After LIKE i literally never
drank WHEN i was WITH, ww like and it wasn't
BECAUSE i was trying to be straight, edge LIKE i
just Didn't it wasn't a way THAT i coked like
OR i AND i wasn't like a partier BECAUSE i
had just come from like, bodybuilding and LIKE i didn't
give a shit about. Drinking THEN i was, bartending BUT
i wasn't, drinking you, know like so AND i just didn't.
CARE i didn't care to socialize in that way BECAUSE
(01:03:02):
i was, tired, yeah you, know like and it just
wasn't appealing TO meta AND i AND i to, me
like it wasn't worth my reputation to go out drinking with.
Speaker 3 (01:03:11):
Anybody, yeah LIKE i just it never was even ever
on my.
Speaker 4 (01:03:14):
Mind so like it really wasn't an issue, THEN i,
think knowing WHAT i know, now and the thing like
looking back at the WAY i was feeling and the
way that my body was not reacting the WAY i wanted.
TO i was so stressed all the, time just, said
cortisol just pumping through my veins like stress.
Speaker 3 (01:03:31):
Hormones AND i was not eating in a healthy, way
LIKE i was eating healthy, food but like just LIKE
i would eat a lot on the, drives, like AND
i was still working, out but, LIKE i think so.
Speaker 4 (01:03:41):
Much of it was like the stress that was, happening
like that my body was not functioning, right you, know
AND i was JUST i think my hormones were, off
and mentally and EMOTIONALLY i was really. Off so like
there was just a lot of dysfunction, happening like in
internally and a lot of it BECAUSE i hadn't.
Speaker 3 (01:03:57):
Processed a lot of the THINGS i was.
Speaker 4 (01:03:59):
Experiencing and then my body was kind of getting beat
up and just it wasn't even from the.
Speaker 3 (01:04:03):
Rain it was like from the.
Speaker 2 (01:04:04):
Driving, yeah is the worst part of what wrestlers.
Speaker 4 (01:04:08):
Do, yes like so much, sitting you, know and your
body is already tight and and LIKE i didn't know
a lot about the health of my body and the
way THAT i do, now and so my so as
was like always so, ta my back always, hurt my shoulder,
blade you, Know LIKE i had a rib out for
a long time and didn't even have any awareness THAT
i did because my body was just like messed, up and,
(01:04:29):
yeah it was just bad and AND i didn't SO
i didn't get travel AND i was just like first
THOUGHT i was, like, Oh mania is coming, up like
they do The mania, cut you, know the cuts around that,
Time i'm.
Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
Gonna AND i was, Like i'm gonna get.
Speaker 4 (01:04:47):
Released AND i like didn't want to be, embarrassed LIKE
i didn't want that to be my, story and and
so that those were all things we're going through my.
Mind and SO i reached out To, tom who's the,
writer and he was, like let me find. Out i'll
figure they had just gotten some new person in the
whatever travel, area and they were just like not booking talent.
Speaker 3 (01:05:05):
That hadn't been ON. Tv and that sucked because even if.
Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
You weren't on a main, storyline if you were AT,
tv there's a chance that you get in a, couch.
Right SO i was just, like, damn there's like no
chance now if they're not gonna bring. Me and then
So tom pulled some strings AND i you, know said
something and they booked me travel last.
Speaker 3 (01:05:22):
Minute and it Was, january and so getting Is, baltimore.
Speaker 4 (01:05:26):
It was like a horrible travel, day LIKE i got
stuck on a, plane like stuck in, air you, know
like by the TIME i got To baltimore then had
to take a cab like it was freezing it was
snowing like it was JUST i got there AND i
wasn't on the.
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
Card, obviously AND i was just, like what AM i?
Speaker 4 (01:05:41):
Doing like you, Know AND i had this moment WHERE
i was just like looked up AND i realized this
arena THAT i debuted in AND i was just, like
this feels so full, circle like they all these like
and THEN i didn't have this like the connection and
belief in faith LIKE i do, now AND i think
it was very out of touch because.
Speaker 3 (01:06:03):
Of WHAT i was experiencing that then.
Speaker 4 (01:06:04):
Too but even THEN i was just, LIKE i feel
this is a, sign, yeah LIKE i should just ask my.
Release and SO i went into talent, relations didn't even tell,
anybody and unt tell.
Speaker 3 (01:06:12):
Aj her AND i were kind of like m moving
apart in a lot of.
Speaker 4 (01:06:15):
Ways there was just like stuff happening behind the scenes
that we didn't know how to talk about and we
didn't know how to deal.
Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
With and really at that, time my only friend THAT
i felt like WAS i was super close with was E.
Speaker 4 (01:06:26):
Okay AND i didn't even tell, him AND i, LIKE
i didn't even tell my, Brother LIKE i just went
into talent. Relations Mark corona was sitting there AND i
was just, LIKE i sat down AND i was just,
LIKE i THINK i want to ask my, release and
he was just like and HE i think he said
LIKE i saw that coming or.
Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
Something AND i.
Speaker 4 (01:06:43):
Didn't know whether TO i wanted to be mad at
him or be, like, uh you, know and he said.
Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
Okay and and then.
Speaker 4 (01:06:50):
He came in and THEN i left the office or
he said he had a you, know run it by
he would let me know Whats.
Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
So then he came back and, said you, Know, hunter
once you just sleep on, it to sleep on, it
and THEN.
Speaker 4 (01:07:02):
I think we Were it was like a horrible drive
we had to drive From baltimore to it Was philly
or something or, something AND i slept on, it AND
i felt even worse the next, day AND i was
just LIKE i don't know what to, Do like my
stomach was so messed. Up my stomach was, like you,
know not the entire day so, Bad like it was
so bad AND i didn't want to tell.
Speaker 3 (01:07:23):
ANYBODY i don't want me to. Know you found.
Speaker 4 (01:07:26):
Out april found, out and then eventually people found out
because like they talked about the production meeting and all
these and then they it was just like so sick
to my somach all.
Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
DAY i didn't want it to be a big. DEAL
i didn't even know WHY i was.
Speaker 4 (01:07:35):
LEAPING i was just LIKE i don't want to be here,
anymore you, know LIKE i feel LIKE i.
Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
Can't, well it was like LITTLE i guess the little
signs of you weren't on the travel and THEN i
mean you.
Speaker 5 (01:07:43):
Were it Was baltimore And baltimore And january is, awful
so like the travel day is probably shitty.
Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
On top of.
Speaker 3 (01:07:49):
That, yeah it was.
Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
Horrible, yeah it was just a bad combination of.
Speaker 5 (01:07:52):
Things and so like you, said you were also not
you would just left the title on six months ago
when we were they were doing, it like what were
you gonna?
Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
Do?
Speaker 5 (01:07:59):
Right and even then before the whole you, know Uh Women's,
evolution the matches were three five, minutes, right like what
are we?
Speaker 3 (01:08:06):
Doing, YEAH i think it was just like sad.
Speaker 4 (01:08:09):
TOO i was just like sad to feel kind of
the reality of what it. Was AND i THINK i
also had this like deep regret OR i don't even
know what you call, it BUT i was just LIKE
i feel LIKE i didn't do enough with the time
THAT i, had or LIKE i didn't make a big enough.
IMPACT i wasn't clear enough on like WHAT i stand,
for WHAT i, value and that bothered me a lot
(01:08:29):
BECAUSE i was, like what IF i never do anything that,
Coolgaan like what IF i never hold a title?
Speaker 3 (01:08:33):
Again what If i'm never ON tv? Again you? Know
and so that sucked really.
Speaker 4 (01:08:36):
Bad that's really, bad and that that messed with me even.
Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
More and that like kind of LIKE i don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:08:42):
If it was like a like a, spiral BECAUSE i
wasn't like crazy drinking or doing drugs at that, time
BUT i was just like pretty messed.
Speaker 3 (01:08:48):
Up, YEAH i was pretty messed.
Speaker 4 (01:08:50):
Up and SO i had gotten engaged at that time
already to my first, husband And i've been married and divorced,
twice AND.
Speaker 3 (01:08:58):
I didn't have.
Speaker 4 (01:09:00):
PLANN i Knew i'm wanted to like start business and
do something, cool AND i eventually six months, later.
Speaker 3 (01:09:03):
Started a clothing brand AND i did a whole patented design.
Speaker 5 (01:09:06):
On the right because you already, said well you said
in other interviews that the we'll talk about the booty,
bad but you.
Speaker 2 (01:09:13):
Had had it already in your gear, wrestling so and
then you just brought it over to the.
Speaker 4 (01:09:18):
Likes, yeah that was, like SO i didn't actually know
what my life WHAT i wanted my life to look.
Like WHEN i was in, WRESTLING i just knew that
this wasn't it right, now AND i didn't want to get.
Speaker 3 (01:09:27):
Released and so like my reputation was so important to,
me not like my true, reputation like what people who
people know me to, be and it is.
Speaker 4 (01:09:36):
Still, uh there's so much integrity in my reputation and
Everything i've ever done in my, career and that's one
of the most important things to, me you, know Whether
i'm winning or, losing like just HOW i impact people
and like HOW i leave people, feeling you. Know and
THEN i didn't. KNOW i didn't know that was like a.
VALUE i just knew, that you.
Speaker 3 (01:09:58):
Know but so WHEN i that's LIKE i wanted to
do something really cool.
Speaker 4 (01:10:02):
AND i had that that it's a rooshing sown in
the seam of my wrestling, outfits AND i was struggling
with my feeling confidence ulf ON. Tv so anything would
help accentuate my BODY i was happy. About and so
at that, time they were also doing that roushing in
competition fitness competition, stemsuits but it wasn't anywhere, else and
SO i wanted to put it in.
Speaker 3 (01:10:22):
Leggings SO i found somebody to make me a.
Speaker 4 (01:10:24):
PROTOTYPE i took my wrestling gear AND i was, like
this is WHAT i, want but it needs to be more,
durable you. Know AND i did a bunch of prototypes
and eventually patented the blue scrunch, legging coined the booty scrunch,
legging and now it's an industry standard all, globally it's.
Everywhere AND i did patent, it BUT i could only
get a design, patent which you can't, Eat like you
need a utility patent to protect a design and fashion
(01:10:47):
AND i could never get. That SO i spent a
lot of money trying to get, that but at the
end of the, day like it didn't. Matter like within
the first couple of months WHEN i Launched Celestial, bodies
there was already brands copying, it and it WAS i
struggled with that a lot BECAUSE i was, HERE i
am trying to figure out my own identity and LIKE
i felt like people were taking my ideas AND i
was this is the kind of the first TIME i
stepped out as like the face of my own brand
and trying to understanding what it is to build a
(01:11:09):
personal brand AND i had all this steam behind.
Speaker 3 (01:11:11):
ME i just had a COOL tv, career you, Know
and SO i struggled a lot with.
Speaker 4 (01:11:14):
That and THEN i started to figure out that the
success of my business wasn't going to be BECAUSE i
was the first one to invent booe scrunches about the
way my clothes makee people feel that WHAT i stand,
for you, know like the things actually, matter, Right AND
i learned that, eventually and THEN i GOT i had
that business for seven, years but it was like kind
OF i think for a, lot like you, know a
(01:11:35):
lot of.
Speaker 3 (01:11:35):
Ways it was what pulled.
Speaker 4 (01:11:36):
Me through continue to like evolve myself in my career
BECAUSE i had something to kind of pour myself. Into
and when my marriage was falling apart from the very
beginning my first, one and then in that marriage is
WHEN i struggled really bad with coping with drugs and, alcohol.
Speaker 3 (01:11:53):
AND i was, LIKE i can look at.
Speaker 4 (01:11:55):
PICTURES i eventually lost the weight that had gained from
dugov AND i had changed my look a, lot had dark,
hair AND I i hadn't gotten tattoos, yet but you
could see it in my. Eyes you could see it
in my, eyes like my body looked more. Healthy BUT
i was just like.
Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
Not, gone BUT i wasn't, me you, know AND i don't.
Speaker 4 (01:12:15):
Even more in my head THAN i was WHEN i was,
wrestling BECAUSE i was, THEN i, think faced with so
many of the my you, know like when you have
internal things, happening like your life just reflects those things to,
you the way people interact with, you the shit that,
happens you're just like eventually kind of just realized that
these are things THAT i have going on within, me
and that's like what was happening in my. Life LIKE
i WHEN i left, WRESTLING i just ran from all
(01:12:37):
my problems AND i ran from like the THINGS i
was dealing.
Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
WITH i didn't go to. THERAPY i. DIDN'T i started
going to therapy WHEN i.
Speaker 4 (01:12:44):
Six months AFTER i Left, Yea and it was BECAUSE
i knew THAT i was GONNA i was transitioning from
traveling the world wrestling in these crazy high A gennaline
moments to them just trying to start a business WHICH
i knew nothing about business in my, mind in a
spare bedroom of the house of this PERSON i just.
Speaker 3 (01:13:02):
Married you, know we were only engaged.
Speaker 4 (01:13:03):
For less than a, year AND i was just running
from my, life you, KNOW i was. RUNNING i was
just trying to start, over start, new because LIKE i
didn't know how to deal in process with everything that
had really happened in those four years with of W
like what.
Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
Kind of go dumped myself?
Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
Into, yes, yeah and so Selectial bodies.
Speaker 4 (01:13:20):
Became it was like this vehicle for my own evolution
THAT i built, myself you, Know and so that was really.
Speaker 3 (01:13:25):
Cool AND i feel like.
Speaker 4 (01:13:25):
Anything i've ever done in business has been me building
my own vehicle for, transformation not knowing what that meant
and what that was going to be requiring me to
do or be or work through or. Whatever but it's
Always that's WHY i feel like, entrepreneurship like with the
path THAT i chose WHEN i left, wrestling has just
(01:13:46):
been a way to evolve, myself like, personally you, know
and then the business and the career is like just
the expression of the, evolution you. Know but, YEAH i
Did Seleecial bodies was the THING i think that kept
me from you, know maybe.
Speaker 3 (01:14:03):
Never bouncing back or you, know never being WHO i
am today or, whatever BECAUSE i was struggling really bad.
Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
Early are bad?
Speaker 5 (01:14:10):
Now You you then kind of went onto life, coaching,
right and you were helping.
Speaker 2 (01:14:14):
People with, That and where along that journey before you
got there did YOU i, mean like you, said you
start going through, therapy and.
Speaker 5 (01:14:22):
Then where did you start learning actually how to meditate
and clearing your mind and just being just happy with
who you are and where you think you can also
then help other people.
Speaker 4 (01:14:35):
Do the same.
Speaker 3 (01:14:35):
Thing that's a great.
Speaker 4 (01:14:36):
Question so in twenty, EIGHTEEN i felt like that was
for sure my wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:14:41):
One LIKE i left dressing in twenty.
Speaker 4 (01:14:42):
Fourteen, yeah AND i twenty eighteen was a year after
my divorce AND i was still really going THROUGH i.
WAS i think it was at that POINT i was
strengthening every SINGLE, dayaka LIKE i didn't feel anything like
you know, that BUT i MEAN i.
Speaker 3 (01:15:02):
Did and that's why it was.
Speaker 4 (01:15:04):
Vodka like you, Know and and eventually at first it
was like, wine then eventually vodka and then like in the,
mornings you, know because like it was pretty bad AND
i ended up going to a medical detalks. Twice, Yeah
but the thing, is LIKE i never so before this.
Speaker 3 (01:15:21):
Like kind of rock bottom, MOMENT.
Speaker 4 (01:15:25):
I had done the medical, detalks BUT i had never
dealt with the reason WHY.
Speaker 3 (01:15:28):
I was drinking about.
Speaker 4 (01:15:29):
That, yeah that's The, Yeah AND i wasn't acknowledging that at.
All SO i just was LIKE i started having panic
attacks and LIKE i just my face was, inflamed and
LIKE i just was so unhealthy AND i had no
motivation to train in the.
Speaker 3 (01:15:47):
Gym LIKE i just was not. Myself AND.
Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
I. Started SO i, started LIKE i had gone through
series of therapists and, stuff BUT i JUST i started
listening To, OH i listened to the audio book AND
i read.
Speaker 3 (01:15:59):
It Uh power of now by Like. Cartole but that
book changed my.
Speaker 4 (01:16:03):
Life. Oh my Friend, jody who's who tried out with
me and went home like that next, day she sent
me that book and she was kind of going through
like a healing journey herself in that. Book BECAUSE i
was struggling so bad with, anxiety which was WHY i
was drinking LIKE i would M i just had heart palblitations,
constantly and THEN i would get like panic, attacks and
(01:16:25):
and SO i started like that book helped me start
to detach from the anxiety and like kind of like
see it as something different versus like me.
Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
And not being able to control my thoughts or you.
Speaker 4 (01:16:36):
Know like so it was that and THEN i just
started that opened my mind to spirituality in a different,
way and like self connection and meditation kind of like
That i'm actually not my mind AND i can clear
my mind AND i can actually access myself in a
in a deeper. Way and THEN i eventually GOT i
had a uh kind of an intense three years in PSYCHEDELICS.
Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
Dmt, okay and SO i did and it's. Amazing can
this it?
Speaker 2 (01:17:05):
Sucks, yeah D?
Speaker 3 (01:17:07):
Mt IF i am five a meal and so it's
called The god.
Speaker 4 (01:17:10):
Molecule And i've done five or six ceremonies through a
shaman and that shaman is actually the person who officiated
my second wedding and we got married in a psychedelic.
Church but that TO i, mean just to say the,
least that's what, Like so starting to open my mind
and learn to connect to my self my soul was
(01:17:33):
kind of the first. Steps and then the kind of
the expression of the problem was the drinking and the.
Anxiety and then SO i started to dig, deeper open my,
mind get out of my head and my mind and
kind of try to connect to my heart and my
body and like ask myself things like what DO i
actually really want from my life and what does that look?
Speaker 3 (01:17:51):
Like and actually what does that mean and what was?
That like what's the? Feeling And i've never asked myself
those things. Before it was just kind of like just, going.
Speaker 4 (01:17:57):
Going, going, going and you know out, yeah, yeah, Yeah
and BUT i think like you do figure it out
because you, h you hit these like massive brick walls
and road blogs and and things that kind of like
show you that you can't keep going. Anymore like you
have to assess and you have to like stop and
kind of take a.
Speaker 3 (01:18:13):
Breath and, so, yeah, PSYCHEDELICS I i ended. UP I
bufo is the.
Speaker 2 (01:18:20):
Reason, YEAH I i've heard you talk about buffo. Before
what Y i don't know if that.
Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
Is so it's a venom off a cane.
Speaker 4 (01:18:26):
Toad cane toad's back and most of the cane toes
are raised in a very sacred ceremonial, process and there
there's indigenous people In mexico and where they cultivate the,
toads and they also have shalmings that the sale tates.
Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
Medicine it's very.
Speaker 4 (01:18:40):
Sacred So i've only ever done buffon in a very
sacred sera, uh And i've done some other.
Speaker 3 (01:18:45):
Ones But bufo's been the main one that absolutely changed my.
Life it opened my.
Speaker 4 (01:18:48):
HEART i believe In, god you, know through those, experiences
and SO i WHEN i was with my second, husband
we actually did all these you, know psychedelic expiencies together
and we WERE i, think in my, opinion never were
supposed to be together for a whole, life but we
were supposed to be in our lives for that five
years to really, yeah we both grew, tremendously AND, I i,
(01:19:11):
KNOW i felt LIKE i was like kind of reborn
into a different person during that.
Speaker 3 (01:19:17):
Time AND i.
Speaker 4 (01:19:19):
And cause that was like kind of the first TIME
i was facing everything that happened in my life even
BEFORE ww just like the things that happened to us as,
kids and the dynamics that we learned and the intcrities
that we get and the shit that we.
Speaker 3 (01:19:28):
Witnessed the, experience you, know and that was like through
plant medicine and learning to slow my, MIND i started.
Speaker 4 (01:19:35):
Witnessing myself in a different way and having compassion for
myself and finding things THAT i actually loved and that
like made me feel inspired and motivated and LIKE i
wanted to get up in the morning and and stuff like.
THAT i also had a dog WHO i felt.
Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
Like was an. Angel they really are, yeah AND I i.
Speaker 4 (01:19:50):
WHEN i went through my second my first, WORSE i
got him and he was already, seven and he was
just kind of like the way he found his way
to me was like perfect and he helped me a.
Lot he passed it last, year but but HE i
think he was in my life to get me through.
Speaker 3 (01:20:06):
That but, yeah so it. SO i then.
Speaker 4 (01:20:12):
He had healed a substantial. Amount you could see it
in my, face you could see my, eyes you could
see my. Body AND i was not fulfilled doing.
Speaker 3 (01:20:22):
Retail having a secial bodies did not fulfill.
Speaker 4 (01:20:25):
Me AND i felt like there was like a purpose
for my. Life AND i had started to uncover that
feeling a lot through the healing THAT i was. Doing
AND i was just struggling financially in that. BUSINESS i
was a huge success for many. YEARS i had Missed
Bikini olympia on my a you know two of them
on on my, athlete my athlete. ROSTER i was in the,
cover But i'm in magazine like. It it was a
huge deal like that that that and it was like
(01:20:47):
the Big instagram in twenty, sixteen where you, know a
thing was going really.
Speaker 10 (01:20:50):
Fast but then, right but THEN i had manufactured with
a lot of integrity for many years in THE, us
AND i couldn't afford it more, on the manufacturers were having,
issues and SO i started manufacturing.
Speaker 3 (01:21:03):
Overseas everything. Changed people, noticed like designs.
Speaker 4 (01:21:06):
Were never quite the, same the fabric was, Different LIKE
i my heart wasn't in it, anymore LIKE i just
because for a long, time especially the first few years
Of Social, BODIES i was, like this is One i'm to do.
Speaker 3 (01:21:16):
Forever this is super. COOL i love, it cause it
was LIKE i was finding myself outside of. Wrestling and then.
Speaker 2 (01:21:21):
Like and you're, like, oh, yeah this is super.
Speaker 3 (01:21:23):
Awesome yeah. Yeah AND i fell low momentum, too CAUSE
i had a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:21:26):
Of doubt in terards of like CAN i do this
as a business, owner like in an entrepreneurial type of.
Way and then after seven, years LIKE i had taken
everything THAT i got from my first divorce and put.
Speaker 3 (01:21:37):
It in that and it just it was just, bleed, bleeding.
Bleeding blian wasn't making. MONEY i.
Speaker 4 (01:21:42):
HAD i had a whole team of employees at one
point in a big warehouse important and THEN i downsized
and moved back To houston in.
Speaker 3 (01:21:48):
Twenty, twenty and it just kept continually just.
Speaker 4 (01:21:51):
Like you, KNOW i kept having cut, people cut.
Speaker 3 (01:21:54):
Budgets and, yeah it's just. Sucked AND i knew, that
like it just wasn't aligned.
Speaker 4 (01:22:01):
Anymore BUT i also was afraid AND i was, scared
AND i didn't know what that next chapter, Was.
Speaker 3 (01:22:05):
Like it's just the same thing WHEN i WAS, leavingw, like, uh.
Speaker 4 (01:22:07):
You know what. Next and then through that whole uh
experience with having social bodies and having employees and, ATHLETES
i mentored a l a lot of younger people and,
LIKE i THINK i got to share a lot of
the values THAT i learned in f in my time WITH,
ww AND i got.
Speaker 3 (01:22:24):
To uh be in a role of leadership in a
ural way and it was very. Fulfilling.
Speaker 4 (01:22:28):
Yeah and then my second husband was a coach at the,
time and he was doing like fitness mindset coaching and
he was like he knew THAT i was coming out
of alignment and closing that business AND i.
Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
Don't know WHAT i was gonna, Do, yeah and he was, like.
Speaker 2 (01:22:39):
We should start.
Speaker 3 (01:22:39):
Coaching we should coach, together and so we did some group.
Programs it worked till it. Worked it was really.
Speaker 4 (01:22:45):
Cool we had we started having problems and it was
very hard to have a business, with, uh your significant,
OTHER i especially as intimate.
Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
As private coaching or group. Coaching so we we had
some amazing.
Speaker 4 (01:22:55):
Times it built some like you, know lifelong connections with
clients and it was super. Cool and THEN i we
split up last year AND i had already started having
different ideas.
Speaker 3 (01:23:07):
And vision for my coaching and WHAT i wanted that
to look.
Speaker 4 (01:23:11):
Like AND i had learned a fashion based movement system
THAT i was teaching too that kind of really elevated my.
Speaker 3 (01:23:16):
Coaching and so last YEAR i restarted my business and
led me into doing WHAT i do.
Speaker 4 (01:23:24):
Now but, YEAH i think my desire and kind of
the calling for teaching and coaching came from.
Speaker 3 (01:23:33):
A lot of the things and the leadership THAT i
built through.
Speaker 5 (01:23:36):
Wrestling, yeah it's also all the experiences along the, way
like you talked, about like you're almost building like A
batman utility belt of, like and then you go on
and you're, like, oh it's.
Speaker 2 (01:23:46):
This, thing yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:23:48):
Exactly then obviously you still have to keep going and
somewhat make somewhat mistakes because obviously you're going to continue
to learn and nothing's efferent that.
Speaker 2 (01:23:56):
Smooth so, right, yeah, Yeah so how do you.
Speaker 5 (01:23:59):
Feel how do you feel now when it comes to
life work balance and just finding time that is just
you and not because you can you have a better sense.
Speaker 2 (01:24:11):
Of where you are mentally and you know how you are,
physically but.
Speaker 5 (01:24:13):
Like how does time management all of that kind of
work out for?
Speaker 2 (01:24:17):
You the power of saying no is a huge thing
when it comes to life in general for.
Speaker 4 (01:24:22):
People, yeah that's a great question and point like it's
because AND i think.
Speaker 3 (01:24:28):
That is something that a.
Speaker 4 (01:24:29):
Lot of people struggle with that have their own business
or the creator of some kind is like with format
of your day and structure and how you allocate That
and AM i giving enough to What i'm?
Speaker 3 (01:24:40):
Doing AM i giving enough to? Myself?
Speaker 4 (01:24:42):
Like BUT i think the level of self connection and
ALIGNMENT i have within myself, now it's really easy to
tell When i'm when my cup is not, Full like
WHEN i you, know IF i feel irritated or like
imbalanced or you, know like overwhelmed or, WHATEVER i know
that there's something that is kind of like it's an
(01:25:04):
expression of, dysfunction like EITHER i need more rest or
some things off or LIKE i you, KNOW i need
to go AND I i like to spend a lot
of time, alone a lot of time, alone And i've
just realized THAT'S i. THINK i actually think everybody's like,
this but some people just aren't aware of. It LIKE
i think that we're all just super highly energetically sensitive to,
(01:25:24):
everything and when you don't spend enough time alone or in,
isolation you don't know how to process what's yours and what's,
not and.
Speaker 3 (01:25:31):
You just carry, it you. Know and then when you carry.
Speaker 4 (01:25:35):
Like energies and emotions that don't even belong to, you
or some are yours and some aren't, yours but you
don't really have an understanding of like how to sort it,
inside then that's what.
Speaker 3 (01:25:45):
Leads to disease and pain and.
Speaker 4 (01:25:48):
Dysfunction AND i think that any disease is just an
expression of an inner disconnection and a dysfunction from like
AND i even would say like a spiritual disconnection now
that everybody has to like believe In god or believe in,
this is it really in, that but like to have
some sort of connection to a higher power where you
can surrender yourself to that when you can do, it,
(01:26:09):
yeah you, know like because everybody has those once where
you're just like so stacked that there's like nothing n
in your power that you can change what you're. Experiencing
and that that's when when you have a connection to
a higher, source you can allow yourself to surrender to
that and just trust, that, Like, okay this is out
of my.
Speaker 5 (01:26:24):
Hands you, know where do you find yourself now always
being an athletic, person.
Speaker 11 (01:26:30):
Whether it be like, soccer being in fitness, community being
a prog, wrestler and now you're out of, it where
do you find yourself happiest when it comes to you,
know the, physical working out and making all that.
Speaker 3 (01:26:43):
Happen SO, I i, mean you KNOW i mentioned this
in the.
Speaker 4 (01:26:47):
Beginning this will be twenty five years That i've been
training and working on in the, gym lifting ways.
Speaker 3 (01:26:51):
And training and sculpting my body in different.
Speaker 4 (01:26:53):
Ways from WHAT i have come to understand is that the,
body like your body, is is the expression like out
every choice you. Make, Right so WHEN i was making
a lot of bad choices or choices that didn't serve
me in the, past like WHEN i didn't have awareness
AND i didn't know what my needs were AND i
didn't understand, myself.
Speaker 3 (01:27:13):
Like WHEN i was In dewbet AND i was just
like gaining weight and my face was puffy and LIKE
i had.
Speaker 4 (01:27:18):
Depression and, anxiety WHICH i felt was just a result
from my, own you, know dysfunction inside my. Body NOW
i feel LIKE i have an understanding of IF i
know how to take care of, myself and that can
change every. Season but it like If i'm showing up
at the gym four or five times a week AND
i feel, strong AND i feel LIKE i don't have
to listen to like the way that, everybody including like
(01:27:41):
my parents and my friends' parents.
Speaker 3 (01:27:43):
Talk about, aging LIKE i don't have to subscribe.
Speaker 4 (01:27:44):
To, That LIKE i don't have to age like, that
and like it is, possible just like feel, good, yeah you,
know and when you, so, uh it's super important to.
Me And i'm the best Shape i've ever been in
and this is the Oldest i've ever been and it's
just BECAUSE i Think i've experienced so any ways WHERE
i didn't take care of myself in the, past AND
i know that for, me like training in the gym
(01:28:04):
and working out on a very regular basis is so
important for my mental, status like my mental, health my emotional.
Health and THEN i also feel proud of the way
THAT i look AND i feel like the way THAT
i hold my body and the way THAT i stand
in my posture is just as important as you, know
(01:28:26):
the amount of MONEY i could make or you, know
like the way to show up on social, Media like it's,
power you, know and IF i don't show for my
body like, THAT i don't get to say THAT i
have that type of, power you, know or that mastery over.
Speaker 3 (01:28:38):
Myself.
Speaker 5 (01:28:38):
YEAH i do think, everybody no matter what they're trying
to do and like needs to do something physical on
a daily basis because you get those good drugs going
through your body and.
Speaker 2 (01:28:47):
It's really good for your mental.
Speaker 5 (01:28:48):
Health and THAT i always thought that was quite interesting
during twenty, twenty nobody really talking, about hey just go
outside and walk or do something, inside or because everyone
was redoing their homes as it was that, somewhere just.
Speaker 3 (01:29:00):
Do yeah, anything, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:29:03):
YEAH i feel like moving LIKE i tend to think
of like anytime my body feels like heavy or tight or,
uncomfortable any type of movement literally just liberates that and
it's just excess, energy you.
Speaker 3 (01:29:13):
Know AND i think that a lot of people that.
Speaker 4 (01:29:15):
Don't understand that or don't have that like antidotal experience
in their life they tend to be not in, emotion you,
know not. Moving and that's WHAT i feel like kills,
people like when you're because we're always all feeling our
own emotions and emotions of, others and whether there are
ours or someone else is you don't, move actually move
(01:29:38):
our physical body and move the emotions through our, body
like emotions or energy and motion in your. Body so
when you're, you you don't move your, body they become
hard and, calcified and they turn into z's and dysfunction
and chronic, pain you, know and mountains. Emotions so, yeah, movement, yeah,
yeah even.
Speaker 5 (01:29:56):
If you're just getting up walking, around, yeah or just
stretching in between you, know, uh binging or whatever you're
watching or you're working on a, computer just get.
Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
Up and stretch.
Speaker 3 (01:30:05):
Up this is WHEN i, say like it is so,
True like try.
Speaker 4 (01:30:07):
This but anytime if you're ever trying to like influence
your friends into stretching or, movement you just start stretching and.
Speaker 3 (01:30:13):
Then, like buy let me just a by product for other.
People start stretching and if you normalize it for you
to do, it are other friends are doing?
Speaker 4 (01:30:20):
It? Yeah because sometimes you feel weird if you're like
the person that wants to like get up and move
or you, know BUT i just did remind me of.
Speaker 5 (01:30:26):
That SO i have a SECOND i call it the five,
counts just five renom.
Speaker 2 (01:30:30):
Questions, okay who's your first celebrity?
Speaker 4 (01:30:32):
Crush oh man, Oh Lenny, Kravitz, OH i get that.
Speaker 2 (01:30:38):
Dread if you owned a coffee, company liquor, company brewery or,
winery what would it be and what would the name?
Speaker 3 (01:30:46):
Be you don't really drink, IT i would probably be
a COFFEE i love coffee so, much.
Speaker 4 (01:30:55):
Mood bar or SOMETHING i feel, like you, know, Yeah
and the only REASON i know not so quickly is
Because i'm a big fan of.
Speaker 3 (01:31:03):
Have you reard?
Speaker 4 (01:31:03):
Kava?
Speaker 2 (01:31:04):
Yeah, Yeah, OKAY i love. IT i love kava and soa.
Speaker 3 (01:31:08):
Kava with A k yeah. Yeah so it's essentially a
roote and it's kind of Like.
Speaker 2 (01:31:13):
Polynesian it comes from, there The polynesian.
Speaker 4 (01:31:16):
World, yeah and it's like it chills you, out chill
vibe and and if you.
Speaker 3 (01:31:21):
Can stand the taste and the, texture LIKE i love.
It i'm a huge fan of.
Speaker 5 (01:31:24):
It there are some bars in THE dfw, AREA i
know there are, there, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
YEA i talked to tow them, yeah oh, yeah because
there was a lot In South.
Speaker 3 (01:31:31):
Florida, yeah, Culture, yeah there's one In Fort.
Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
Worth they've.
Speaker 3 (01:31:35):
Done, okay they're.
Speaker 2 (01:31:36):
Doing that's.
Speaker 3 (01:31:37):
COOL i know THAT i have to. Go.
Speaker 4 (01:31:38):
Yeah BUT i almost started a kava bar with one
of my very very good friends In South florida's name Is,
sam and we had both put IN uh fifty grand
and we had like we were like deep in the,
process and then it was like FOR covid and we
actually could never agree on a location And vocal was
really we were In boca and they were really strange
WITH uh because we wanted to were creative to so
(01:32:01):
there really were really not a lot of places would
let us in and it was just like he AND
i couldn't.
Speaker 3 (01:32:05):
Agree so we ended up like putting on a. Hold
and then the pandemic, hit.
Speaker 4 (01:32:08):
So we were, like Thank god that that didn't. Happen
But i'm SO i wanted to call. It my vote
was to call it mood, bar AND i wanted to serve,
coffee cava like all those things that kind of can
really enhance your your, mood, Right so that's WHAT i would.
Speaker 2 (01:32:20):
BE i HAVEN'T i, MEAN i haven't looked as there
one In.
Speaker 3 (01:32:22):
HOUSTON i don't, KNOW i thought about, it but it's
like such a big. Undertaking but maybe you're kind of
like resurrecting.
Speaker 2 (01:32:30):
What was your last?
Speaker 3 (01:32:31):
Movie oh my, god what a?
Speaker 8 (01:32:33):
Question?
Speaker 3 (01:32:35):
Uh last?
Speaker 4 (01:32:35):
Meal?
Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
Tacos?
Speaker 2 (01:32:39):
Nice where was?
Speaker 4 (01:32:48):
It?
Speaker 2 (01:32:49):
Oh? Uh who are wet?
Speaker 3 (01:32:50):
In?
Speaker 2 (01:32:50):
Spidersh who?
Speaker 4 (01:32:51):
Were?
Speaker 2 (01:32:51):
What who are?
Speaker 3 (01:32:52):
What AND?
Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
Spidersh?
Speaker 3 (01:32:55):
Yeah SO i think.
Speaker 4 (01:33:00):
The idea of SO r like a lot of people
wait for inspiration to, strike right like it's this external.
Speaker 3 (01:33:08):
Thing that has the power or the, juice you.
Speaker 4 (01:33:10):
Know But i'm a huge advocate and believer that if
you know what inspires, you even if it changes, seasonally
BECAUSE i think we change, seasonally you.
Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
Know like the whole thing we change every seven years when.
Speaker 4 (01:33:22):
Right so it's just like changing your workout, routine Right
like sometimes it's just not serving you and you need
more of a, challenge or you need to pull it,
back or you need to do something more playful or
more intense.
Speaker 3 (01:33:30):
Whatever you, know it's just kind of where you're.
Speaker 4 (01:33:32):
At and SO i feel like if you are connected
with yourself enough to know what currently is inspiring, you,
Right so it's, like AND i use this example a
lot like with clients BECAUSE i think it resonates because
it was a really powerful shift for.
Speaker 3 (01:33:46):
ME i used to WHEN i hadn't run for twenty.
Speaker 4 (01:33:50):
YEARS i had bad news surgery WHEN i was like
a sophomore in high, school AND i just would get
crazy inflammation of. Men AND i was always like the
utility person in, track like need a, DISTANCE i can run.
It BUT i was, fast but SO i would run.
Sprints but if they needed someone to fulfill like a, position.
Speaker 3 (01:34:06):
LIKE i was ALL i could do.
Speaker 4 (01:34:07):
IT i was a crazy good, ATHLETE i, still BUT
i hadn't run for a long. Time and SO i
just like AS i was going through my second divorce
and LIKE i moved AND i was.
Speaker 3 (01:34:17):
Starting my life over, AGAIN i wanted to. RUN i
just wanted to. RUN i was, Like, OH i feel
like that would feel so fucking.
Speaker 4 (01:34:23):
Good and SO i, was you, KNOW i teach a
fashion based movement, system and SO i was learning a
lot about fashia for those who don't, Know so your fashion.
Speaker 3 (01:34:32):
Is your connective.
Speaker 4 (01:34:33):
Tssue it literally holds every muscle orient bone in, place
like it's so important and it's where most of us
hold all of our trauma like physical emotional dynamics that
happen like, accidents like your connective, tissue it lives in
your connective. Tssue so if you have like a compensation
that happened into your body from an accident you had
ten years, ago it's in your. Fascia so if you
learn how to work with your, fashion you can free your,
body change your, posture realign your.
Speaker 3 (01:34:53):
Sign.
Speaker 4 (01:34:53):
Interesting, Yeah so WHEN i learned this movement, system it
changed my life AND i got sortified to teach it
and so now it's like the modality in.
Speaker 3 (01:34:59):
My coaching that helps people elevate their.
Speaker 4 (01:35:01):
Life. Yeah SO i, STARTED i was becoming very interested in,
fashion SO i had someone working on, me AND i
was also doing myself practices THAT i teach people how to.
Do it's like literally how to open your so as your,
publish your loa, bella your, ribs your.
Speaker 3 (01:35:13):
Scalpulous how to hold your, head how to you.
Speaker 4 (01:35:15):
Know and SO i was healing my knee actively AND
i was running and it was a lot of, pain
BUT i was pushing through it.
Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
BECAUSE i was, Like i'm Like i'm gonna, Stop.
Speaker 4 (01:35:25):
Like i'm just gonna listen to. Myself and SO i
started running again and it felt. Amazing and so it's
a Motivate so LIKE i was so inspired by that
THAT i would plan to leave my house at a
certain time to catch this sunset out of very specific
location and then.
Speaker 3 (01:35:40):
Give myself enough time to get back before it got.
Speaker 4 (01:35:42):
Dark so it was, like, yeah so the reward was
obviously the WAY i felt WHEN i was doing the
run and then seeing the sunset at the exact perfect
time and then, yeah and so, like if you know
how to source your own, inspirations you're never waiting for
it to. Strike you know how to like kind of
reignite that flame or light that passion from and that's
going to help, you you, know write the book or
(01:36:02):
pursue the creative, thing or show up differently at.
Speaker 3 (01:36:05):
Work or completely change your entire. Life you.
Speaker 4 (01:36:07):
Know So i'm, very very firm believer in that you
can source your own inspiration as long as you know
what inspires.
Speaker 2 (01:36:16):
You, yes, YEAH i.
Speaker 5 (01:36:17):
ALWAYS i always say for everyone just to be open
for it and it will come to, you just like
if you you, know if you close the, valve nothing's
going to.
Speaker 2 (01:36:25):
Happen but, yeah, yeah and.
Speaker 4 (01:36:28):
Like to have no, expectation, Right it's Like i'm open
to whatever it is, yeah but if you're searching for,
it like look past what it actually.
Speaker 3 (01:36:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:36:40):
Uh and, finally what would you tell your seventeen year old?
Speaker 4 (01:36:42):
Self? Man, man there's so many. Things there's so many
THINGS i, think AND i don't know IF i would
(01:37:04):
understand this, then.
Speaker 2 (01:37:04):
Right that's the other, thing is like with that's seventeen.
Speaker 4 (01:37:06):
WHEN i was, explicit BUT I i w in whatever
WAY i would say, IT i feel Like i'm maybe
you need at the stin with.
Speaker 3 (01:37:12):
That but the message is that.
Speaker 4 (01:37:16):
My your relationship with yourself will always be reflected to
you through the relationships that you have with. Others so
if like you have shitty relationships like people treat you like, shit,
yeah or like you're constantly getting like like you don't
feel good in the way people treat, you or the
interactions like it's you, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:37:38):
And not in like with so much, love like AND
i mean that with.
Speaker 4 (01:37:40):
So much, love BECAUSE i spent so much time having
so much anger and so much like distrust for people and,
uh situations THAT i was like so guarded for so
long AND i just didn't realize that it was actually just.
Speaker 3 (01:37:56):
Me, yeah you, Know and BECAUSE.
Speaker 4 (01:37:57):
I just had a lot of, pain you, know AND
i AND i a lot of things THAT i didn't
forgive myself, for AND i think that prevented me from
like really seeing other people and kind of like seeing
myself through. Them and and so that like your relationship with,
yourself how you see, yourself how you treat, yourself how
you love, yourself how for, yourself.
Speaker 3 (01:38:16):
Is always going to be reflected to you in the
relationships that you have with.
Speaker 4 (01:38:18):
Others so like and help when in whatever way a
seventeen year old can interpret, that you, know, LIKE i
think it'll probably mean different things to a lot of
different seventeen year, olds BUT i think ultimately that message
will resonate over.
Speaker 3 (01:38:31):
Time it would with.
Speaker 4 (01:38:33):
Me i'm probably ten YEARS i understand, that you, know
but that it's like you're The everything else in your
life is a, variable and you are the. Constant you
can you always have your relationship with. Yourself you're always with.
Yourself and so if it's like shitty and you're angry
and like that anger lives inside of, you.
Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
You, know you'll never have anything fulfilling outside of, you you.
Know so yeah that hurt, people hurt, People, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:38:57):
And so less thank you so much for being the
two her fiftieth guests on the.
Speaker 5 (01:39:01):
Show if people want to find you, online follow, you
obviously get some coaching from.
Speaker 2 (01:39:06):
You how can they do all the?
Speaker 4 (01:39:07):
Things the main place Is, Instagram so it's my first
and last, name so Lest, bonan and SO i post like.
Speaker 3 (01:39:12):
All the cool updates and everything.
Speaker 4 (01:39:14):
There AND i also am launching a podcast really so,
Yeah i'm finishing up the artwork on it And i'm
going to have some super cool guests in my first.
