Autism Dads John Asher and Andrew Bowen
April 1, 2016•55 min
When a young wife falls victim to cancer, a single dad is left with the sole responsibility of caring for his sixth grade son with autism. Based on a true story, the bonds of love between a grieving father and son are tested in the most real way in Po, a film directed by John Asher.
Jackie talks with Asher and one of the film's stars, Andrew Bowen, about the emotional pull they both felt to be involved with this moving film, eight years in the making. Plus, hear how Bowen was actually the first person to open Asher's eyes to the idea that his son Evan, with ex-wife Jenny McCarthy, could be on the autism spectrum.
Are you in the LA area? You're invited to a screening of Po on Tuesday, April 5th at Paramount Studios. To RSVP, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
