It's time for Chilicothia High School basketball action on the
Home of the Caves fourteen ninety wb EX powered by
Where Funeral Home, Adina Health System and Holler Funeral Hole.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Wealcanina.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Everyone, Welcome to Chillacathy Cavalier Basketball on the Home of
the Calves fourteen ninety WBEX. Greg Bacon back with you
and I am at Higar Davidson flying solo tonight as
we'll bring you Cavalier basketball here. In twenty twenty five,
after a little bit of a layoff of the Calves
last game, there was a victory over Washington Courthouse and

(00:38):
the Lake Play. The Calves come in tonight with a
two to one leag mark. They will go back into
conference play next Friday night, I believe at Greenfield McClain.
They do have another non league game coming up Tuesday
night at home against Western Brown. Thank goodness all the
way to Western Brown on a school night. But that'll
be Tuesday night. But tonight they travel into the OCC

(01:01):
and of course New Calves fans remember there was a
time when the Calves were members of the Ohio Capitol Conference. Obviously,
the Capitol Conference one of the biggest conferences in the
state of Ohio, if not the biggest with a number
of teams, and the Cavs travel tonight to face the
Wildcats of Hillary Davidson Hill. You're Davidson about even at

(01:23):
about six seniors six juniors on the ball club.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
They stand at four and five.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
They won their last game, they played in the holiday
round the robin, two Knights in a row over Jonathan
Alder and beat Bellbrook. I believe from over round Dayton
in their last contest and tonight that they give them
their fourth victory of the year to be four and five.
As they faced the Calves tonight, it wasn't a good
matchup freshmen losing JV's for Chilicothy losing forty nine to

(01:52):
twenty three. They got stuck on twelve for a long
time and unable. The Calves are a little bit without
Angel Sisson. You got other people moving up limits some
of their playing time in the jvs, and I think
takes away a little depth for the Caves and the
lower levels with losing tonight, but here in the varsity game,

(02:14):
hoping the Calves can keep this a little bit of
momentum going. And you know, we look through their season
and I think if you follow the Calves, you realize
they've had some close contests contests earlier in the year
about three times where they led weren't able to finish.
Certainly the eight point lead they had down at Warren
turned into an overtime loss. They played pretty well up

(02:38):
at Marysville. Then Marysville went on like an eighteen to
oh run to go from down eight to up ten
in the second half.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
So but big victory over Hillsboro.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Another one as we sat over Washington Courthouse played Miami
Trace pretty tough, didn't match up well against the big
guy for the Panthers inside without sism and all in all,
I think Pat Beer pretty happy with the start that
Calvs have at three and four going into tonight. You're
listening to Calves basketball coverage here on a Friday night.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
To glad to have you along here at hill you're Davison.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
I'll come back take a look at the probable starting lineup.
We'll do that right after this time out Calves Basketball
on Becks.

Raig Bigan, Mack Clydia Here in the home of the Wildcats,
the Hilliard Davidson one of the several hired schools. Hilliard
Davidson is in the Central division of the OCC. They
are in with Hilliard Bradley, one of their coat schools,
but Double Goffman all in Tanzi, Liberty, Orange and Upper
Arlington actually one of the smaller groups. Cardinal Division has

(05:45):
the other Hilliard school, Hilliard Darby in it. And interesting,
as I look at the OCC, the biggest number of
schools right now is in the Buckeye Division. That's the
one probably one of the smaller number of the schools
population wise. That includes canw mainly the east side, southeast side,
can Now, Winchester, Groport, Lancaster, Logan, brand New Newark on

(06:07):
the east of Columbus, Pickerington, Central Southeast, Rentalsburg on the
east side, and a brand new member along with Logan,
Tays Valley out of Pickaway County. So that division one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
eight schools in that division the biggest division.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
But you look at Dent to.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
See eight six fourteen, twenty one, two, three, four, five,
six seven, I believe twenty seven or twenty eight schools
is I try to quickly count up total in the OCC.
And of course, if you're one of the bigger schools
D one maybe some small of course in football, makes
a little bit of difference in basketball D one, D

(06:47):
two pretty much made up if you're a bigger school.
If you are in the one of those divisions four
divisions of the occ.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Well, the other thing tonight to be schopful.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Obviously, it's gotten a lot colder outside, and I'll tell
you it is cold in this gym. I have a
long sleeved shirt, I have a pullover with a hood
on it, and I just went on and put on
my winter coat. I'm up in the balcony. But that's
how cold it is in the gym, I think. Obviously,
being out of school, maybe the custodial people here forgot
to remember there was a game going on tonight.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
But it is very cold in this gym.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Not a huge crowd of being a Friday night, a
holiday weekend with the New Year's Day in the middle
of the week, so not a huge crowd on here tonight,
but not a bad crowd.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Nice gym.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
On the home side, all individual seating got seats behind
the one basket of about ten rows, and then of
course of full side. They don't have the balconies open tonight,
no need for that. But the crowd that is on
hand for the calfs tonight, once again we expect one Miller,
Caden Cox, Cooper Stone King, Andrew Hammond and Cam Adjur

(08:01):
to start still without the services of Daniel Sissm. I
think Daniel maybe didn't talk to coach career, but a
couple of weeks for he will be back in action
with Jillicotta again. The Cavs home Tuesday night non League
Western Brown. Next Friday night return to the fac Frontier
Athletic Conference. As they travel to McClain, Let's take a

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Back as we get the official introduction of starting line
apps as you told you for the Cavaliers, as we expected,
Ammon Cox, Milla Stone, King and Badger. The important part
of that is you got guys pretty good hyphen obviously

(11:05):
Andrew Hammond at sixty three and Cam Badger gets the
hands on a lot of basketball six two and a
half or so, and Cox at sixty three six ' four.
So those guys we need to rebound real well. They're
looking at Davidson. They are not a huge team. They're starters.
Is William Raglan starting and also starting Patrick Lynch, a

(11:29):
couple of seniors, another senior number four, Parker Mauer, and
underneath a junior Paul Knapke.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
He's about six fours of their biggest man.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
The pickup. So we got two, three and four for
Davidson actually one, two, three and four starting and then
along with Napke Well are set to go underway and

(12:07):
Davidson tap controlled by the cavalier's quick fast drive to
the bucket, stone King up and end right off the tip.
Stone King with two calves will pick it up. Manned
a man. Davidson coming down still dribbling out front, go
way out on the wing. It goes to Emry Memory

(12:30):
to Raglan ragling guard by Jan Miller. Wrangling, tries to
drive to the wing, stops, gives a hand off Tour
Maur down the lane. Maur puts up the left hand shot.
No good. Cox has the rebound. Cox will bring it
across the timeline, go into the corner to Jan Miller
fakes the shot. One drives all the way into the
middle and they will be a foul. Noll will sound

(12:57):
as he was trying to drive from then towards the
middle of the floor. First foul obviously calves under their
own bucket looking to throw it in. Need to hurry up,
get it in here quickly. Finally get it out front
to Cam Badger. First minute of play, calves up two
to nothing, scoring off the opening tip on a set
play Cox fifteen footter backed it in. Not sure if

(13:20):
he meant too, but we counted Calves two for two
in the field goal range. They leaded four to nothing.
Hand off to Napki. Now they go way out on
the wing. Long three bounced over the backboard. No good
taken by Raglin. Now Cox will bring it down, guard

(13:44):
it out front, looks to drive down the lane. Now
gives it to one. Miller four nothing. Calves in the
early going, hamming down under Cox post his man up,
turn around jumper too strong. Long rebound came off here
side of the rim and picked up by Davidson. There
comes Ragland all the way down coast to coast, put

(14:06):
it up, forced the shot and fouled the late call
after he missed the shot. There was contact. I believe
Miller will pick up the foul. One kind of shakes
his head. There was contact, But I'd tell you, in
today's world of basketball, you pretty much got to just
drill a guy into the floor to get a foul.

(14:27):
And I just see it as a very physical game
with a lot of bumping. Free throw no good by
So Hilliard's still not on the board. William Wrangling five
eleven senior now looking for the second shot. Free throw up.

(14:50):
That one's perfect and has the first point. Full court pressure.
Miller picked up in the back court fordh one Calves.
Miller finally breaks the timeline with a left hand dribble
hand off out front stone King far out on the wing.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Cooper goes now out on top of the key Cox.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Hell, you're picking up the defense, getting up into Calves
a little bit more. Now stone King tries to get
by his man. Now has to go to left. He's
at the free throw line, has to bounce it back
to one.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Miller.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Miller tries to beat his man, has to pull up.
Now he has to shoot a runner, and he got
to go. He didn't have anything else to do, and
he just kind of spun around and put up a
runner and made the shot. On the other end, he'll
you're quickly down down the middle against Miller, works to
the bucket, lose the basketball.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Turnover two on one. Stone King takes it to the
hole and oh, my charge is called, and.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Well, I'm not a big fan of many of that
was an absolute terrible call.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Terrible call. Guy was to the side.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Stone King was all the way to the side, and
the First of all, Cooper probably had an open man
on the other side had he given it up, But
he took it to the hole with the left hand,
was by his man, and that's simply not a charge,
not in today's world of basketball. But wow, but six
' one Calves still on top. Davidson brings it down

(16:22):
man the man pressure coach Pat Beard bat went to
one of the other officials, not the one who made
the call. It was talking to him about saying, hey,
that is that's not a charge. You got to make
sure help the guy out. Davidson's still working on the perimeter.
Maur skips to the corner, wide open jumper baseline, no good,

(16:42):
long rebound comes back out. Now take it to the
whole maor knocked out of his nice play by stone King.
Three point shot was no good by Emory Maler got
the rebound. Stone King did a nice job of batting
it out of his hand out of bounds. Hilliard brings
it in, lobs it out front. Three minutes into the game,
Calves up six to one, long three top of the key.

(17:04):
Another no good on the shot, and that's got to
be a foul on nap Ke.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Nice rebound Cooper stone King.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
I believe that's a second team foul on the Wildcats.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
One thing.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
Look watching the JV and a freshman Hilliar Davidson very much.
If you get a rebound, defensive rebound, then they not
only double team a lot of times the l triple
team they attack you. So you got to get rid
of the ball and a rebound. That time it was
a little bit too physical and picked up the foul.
Von Miller gets it across the time. My nice job
kicks it to the wing. Stone King into the lane, stops,

(17:41):
looks for a shot. He got caught there. Now gives
it to Hammond, skip past deep corner. Cocks beats his
man baseline, skips, gives it Hammond lay up.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Good great pass by Cox, Hammon. What's the two points?

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Towns off to a great start eight to one. Raggling
out front guarded by Miller, maur down the lane, kicks
to the right side. Lynch lobs in the corner. Back
out wraggling guarded by Miller on top. Maurur now down
the lane past Cox, kicks to the corner. They have

(18:19):
to drive the lane. Kick to the backside corner. This
time I look for a shot in the lane, put
it up in an air ball. Stone King almost lost
the rebound, had a good shot by him, or he
was off ballast. I think he thought he got fouled,
but he didn't connect on any kind of iron, just
hit the glass. Came right back Hamm and drives against
his man, turn around jump our Hammon too strong a
rebound inside. Cocks put it in and out. Won't go,

(18:42):
but he's foul. Could have been an a one, but
Kayden will go to the line.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
We'll shoot too now.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Miller two, Cox two, stone King two and Hammon too. Badger,
the only cab starter has a score. He hadn't taken
a shot. Cox's free throw around rolls and goes off
three for Kat and Cox. We get our first substitution.
Badger comes out and checking in is Carte Liggan freshman.

(19:27):
Second free throw by Cox up and got it. Kiten
with four points on the night. In the early going
three point thirty to play first quarter and the calves
off to a ten to one lead. Driving to the
lane all the way down the lane kicks to the corner.
We got a substitution in and he missed the three
point shot. Great box out by Ammon and the rebound

(19:47):
coming into the game. Number five Seth Horsten got himself
in the game and missed the.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Three point shot.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
Another substitution, Drew Rumlinger, will come in for hill.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Loan.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
Miller's gonna come out get a break and the Calves
will bring Hitchens in. Now stone King will handle it
out on top stops. He's caught double team in trouble
and finally gets it to Ligan Licolan. Now trying to
drive hand off out front Cox. Cox beats his man
to the left, fade away jumper by Cayden comes up

(20:24):
short and the rebound pulled down by horsemen. Horse the
long lob ahead to night tune to napk rather Now
Napke was open underneath. Nobody with him, but they Calves
footly recover and now stolen away by Legan Carte one
on three skips to the corner. Stone King tries to

(20:44):
beat his man, lobs it the backside corner Caden Cox
for three no good rebound Ligan offensive board look out
Carte from behind the dead seem and he gets his
pocket picked turnover back to Hillier out on top Fakes
beats his man, got his man in the air.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Drive to the hoo. Play it in now.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
That's a first field goal for Hilliard. That comes just
over two minutes remaining in the quarter. That time, he
got Cayden Cox to jump, got him off his feet,
and then all he had to do was to get
down in the lane and lay it in. Stone King
left open, steps back for three. No good long rebound.
Nice battle hammer comes out of there with it, kicks
it to Hitchins. Hitchings goes to the hole, put it up.

(21:30):
No goodness to bunny shot. There was traffic. I couldn't
get it to fall. I would have been a biggie
now a minute forty wide open. On the other end,
Davidson misses another three from the deep corner.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
That was rerembling or hilliar.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
Davidson putting, I don't have the ability to keep all
the stats there by myself, but they have come up
empty on a lot of three so far in the
first quarter. It was still up in minute twenty to
play first period. Chilli Kathy leads it ten to three.
Here at Hilliard. Davidson scored in a while. Stone King drives, fakes,
puts a shot up. Nice job of drawing the fowl
he's going to shoot two down the left side of

(22:08):
the lane. It was again today's world, there's guys hanging
all over it. He faked, got his man in the
air just enough to then when the man come back
down and create a contact with foul. I believe on
Horston and Cooper will go to the line. Shoot two
free throws first, it up and good three for stone
King in the first quarter. Badger is going to come

(22:31):
back in Ligan coming out, Van Miller comes back in.
The cass will have their original starting five. Accept Hitchen
stays in and stone King makes a second free throw
as well. Twelve three ChIL Kathy, a little bit of pressure.
Davidson breaks the pressure. Lynch now looking to go down

(22:55):
the lane. Mauer puts it up. No good, a lot
of pressure. Good defense. Hammond at the rebound. One minute
to play. Hammond stupped out of bounds. He got caught
on the sideline. He tried to Backdriuble and well, I
thought Mauer got hammered on the way to the bucket.

(23:17):
I thought Andrew Hammond just got shoved down to bounds
with Again that's today's world of basketball, very physical, and
Hammond called for the turnover, said he stepped on the
sideline but lost his balance.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Davidson the basketball.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
Forty seconds the loose basketball and Badger had it, couldn't
hang on to it. It'll be under their own bucket
for the Wildcats. Looking to lob it in. Now they
have to lob it out front, almost throw away rembling
her houses guarded by Hammond rambling her in the right corner,

(23:52):
and Badger was going to pick up a foul. They
ran the old play when the guy that takes it
out of bounds gets a pick, he comes back in
the corner to open up for a three point shot.
Badger fought through the tried to fight through the screen,
knocked the Davidson screener down, picked up the foul. Thirty
five seconds to play in the first quarter. Lob it
out front, fill it away, but it's going to be

(24:14):
chased down by Hemmer for another seven for Davidson. Hemmert
Now they kick long three. Oh wow, they've missed every three,
but that one from downtown Columbus good by maur seventeen seconds.
See if we can wait for a final shot is

(24:34):
twelve six. That was a big three for the Wildcats.
Now Miller driving down to ten seconds takes it to
the hole, skips to the back corner, hitchins for three.
No good long rebound comes off to Davidson three seconds,
two seconds, they're good to get off a half court
shot and no good. First quarter comes to an end.
Cavs had a twelve to two League Final four score

(24:56):
by Davidson and at the end of one it's chillicoth twelve.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Craig beg him with you and Hilary Davidson non league
game for the Cavaliers, Glad to have you along tonight,
Shell Kathie off to a twelve to six lead. Good
defense got the ball inside a couple of times, and
at the end of the first quarter Parker Mauer one
drive to the bucket, one three pointer from long range.

(26:29):
He has five of the six points for Hillary Davidson
for the Calves one Miller two, Cox with four, Stone
King with four, and Hammon with two. It's like the
cavesle Well. No pitching stays in the ballgame. Hillier gets
the ball to start the second quarter, Remliner on the wing.
Maler beats his man stone King takes as the hole.

(26:51):
So so far the guy that's most aggressive obviously is
Parker maur ma our six to one senior, but he's
definitely aggressive taking it to the holt that time. He
was able to beat his man stone King will him out.
Cock's back in. So the calves with Miller and Hitchens

(27:12):
and underneath Badger, Hammon and Cocks out front, they set
up a play. Oh they had a man wide open
underneath kicks his way back out front. Maler looks for
a shot, hands it off instead, back to Maur got
a man in the air, drives to the bucket and
another fowl. Mauer looks to shoot every time, and the
calves are I'm sure the coach is yelling out right now,

(27:35):
don't leave your feet on the maurs on a fake
shots getting people off their feet and then able to
go buy him that fowl picked as he was headed
to the bucket, picked up by the cavaliers. Now of
the bucket against Cox scoop it up.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Nice move.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Hard to warm up are the wildcats that bucket good bye,
horsten On Miller almost went over back getting pressured and
hounded out there. Now Hitchens, good defense out front by Lynch,

(28:11):
back to one Miller. Miller through the legs, top of
the key, gets to the lane, left side, fade away jumper.
One Miller won't go in battle for the rebound. Badger
got it, wow, got it stripped out of his hands
and got his head taken off. If we've taken away
by Hilliard Davidson. After a good rebound by cam Badger,
drive to the ball, he walked to the basketball.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
There we go.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Had a good job everybuddy out there on the outside.
A couple of extra steps on the drive to the
bucket by Horston. And now we've got Carte ligging back
in four Hitchens.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Almost looks like and now Hammered is back.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
It almost looks like Hilliar Davison substituting for defense and
all playing pass made a great pass and Carte leggan
went right through his hands out of balance. Cam Badger saying, man,
I've seen you catch passes in football that were thrown
much harder than that Carte. I don't think he was expected.
And another turn of Calves that had after a great start,

(29:17):
a little bit of a turnover bug here in the
last couple of minutes. Miller stops maur Maer. They're looking
to drive to the bucket. Still looking to drive out
to rambling or a three point shot. No good, good rebound,
Cam Badger, Now Ligan will push it up.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
He's in trouble.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
And we're going to have a foul. Pressure, foul again.
Davidson trying to pick up the defensive pressure. Tavs led.
I believe twelve. I was ten to one. It's down
twelve to eight. Havn't scored in a while. Hit it

(29:57):
into Badger. Hand out to Miller out near the mid
court line. Holds up Number one trying to get people
to move, works on the dribbles through the legs, crossover,
got double team, picks up his dribble. He used to
find someone high post. Ligging back to Miller. One lays
it up. No good battle for the rebound. Camp Badger back.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Up and.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Caps need to that. Then scored in a while. Now
Cox gets beat down the lane, lay up good. Horton
Horston didn't start. He's got two buckets here in the
second quarter and drives to the bucket. Jan Miller with
a spin move shot up, No good rebound rembling or
lost the basketball. Nice steal back to hamm and hamming

(30:45):
up and in any foul. But I'll tell you who
made the play, folks as Carte ligging Hilliar Davison had
the rebound, kind of momentarily lost it and Carte dove
on the floor, got a hold of it, flipped it
to ham And handing scores that he's fouled. I sustle
for carts a ligan him and looking for a three

(31:08):
point play the old fashioned way. Andrew's got four in
the game, looking for number five and he shot it short,
no good. Sixteen to ten, six point advantage for Chili
Cathink coming up on five minutes to play first half.
Mauer looking to drive, still dribbling, still dribbling. Now Horston
he will look to drive. He's quick, got by Cox again.

(31:31):
Cox cut him off, this time not able to get
to the bucket. Now looking to go baseline is Lynch
Lynch down inside, shot up a good bullo watcats, I
have a few minutes the end of the quarter of
the coach said, you know what, worth checking up threes
all over the place. Let's get to the bucket. And

(31:52):
they have done that. Miller almost has a stolen away.
Now Ligan almost has it stolen. Time out. Pat Beer
calls it on the side, poor forty to play until
the end of the first staff sixteen to twelve Calves
by four. You're listening to Calves on PEX back in thirty.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
Craig beg them back whether you flying solo tonight, glad
to have you long covering the Calves a non league game. Calves,
if they win, can get their overall record back to
five hundred. I believe at four and four leaded by four,
that timeout was kind of necessity. I think coach Beard
saw turnovercoming called the time out. Badger high Posts drives

(33:02):
to the lane, having traffic, puts a shot up and
he's fouled. But Higgar Davison is not raging, is back
into the original starter. They're not the biggest as far
as hythe twei's team. Reremliner is built like a linebacker.
Wrangling is certainly built well, but they don't right now

(33:24):
with Napke out, they don't really have anybody much over
six to two and a half, and this time it's Badger.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
It's the line.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
Cam hits the free throw three for Badger. All five
starters for the Cavaliers are in the scoring column. It's
seventeen to twelve. After that foul shot and Cam second
free throw, he missed it rebound Hammond having traffic put
it up, missed a tipped up legging.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
No good.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Now fast break the other way. Two on one down
the lane, shot up and good.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
It was a night smooth by Lynch.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
And he'll have a free throw three point play Back
to my point, Hilary Davidson was putting up a lot
of threes here in the second quarter. They have four
buckets and all four of them counting. Now when are layups,
free throw up and got it. So Lynch with five

(34:26):
points all in the second quarter and back to a
two point game. Cox gets pressured and now Hammond got
the ball loose. Nice pick up by Andrew on a
bad pass. Badger out front, Carte Ligan Hitchens back in
the game, bobbles it. Now Hitchens out on top. The

(34:46):
Cavs are slow a little bit offensively, but their problem
is defensively. They in the second quarter, they've just allowed
Hill you're Davidson to get to the bucket on drives
out on top. Hammon looked under, didn't find anyone under
four mess to play. Ligan a crossover. Jebel takes it
to the bucket and he's going to draw a fouel.

(35:09):
Stone King hasn't played for a while. Kayden Cox coming
over to check with coach Beard and out the line
it will be Carte Liggan with two foul shots seventeen fifteen.
Davidson back within two Calves got off to that fast start,
got up ten to one. Ligan misses the foul shot.

(35:35):
Wildcats rolling about those first eight guys in and out
with a rotation. You know, I think Cooper stone King's
going to come back in maybe for Ligan. Yep, he's
for the shooter. But if Carta can hit the second

(35:55):
of the two shot foul, that would be the sixth
cab and the scoring column. If you can make it
in and out all the way down, pop back out,
Carte missed the boat. I also mean stunt King doesn't
get back in the game, Davidson can tie or take
the lead, take it to the bucket, one more layup
and good.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
And again that's Lynch.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Lynch is just so far right now Caten Cox can't
stay in front of him. They might Calves might need
to get a switch, get someone else on Lynch because
he's been able to get to the bucket here in
the second quarter repeatedly. Hitching's still in the game. Seventeen apiece.
Good second quarter for Hilliar Davidson. Not a good second
quarter for the Calves. Almost throw it away. Hitching's lost

(36:36):
it momentarily. Calves all of a sudden, have lost their
offensive rhythm of getting too the bucket inside, fake up
on the shot, no good, and Badger will shoot too.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Got his man in the air, Coach Bierce.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
He's talking to kayten Cox, and I know what he's
I'm up in the balcony. But I know he's talking
about Caden's defense. You gotta say, you know that guy's
taking it to the bucket four times for layups. Here
in the second quarter Badger at the line. Cam's free
throw got it four for Badger. Carte Lgan coming out

(37:16):
Stoneking back in three minutes to play till halftime, Caves
retake the lead eighteen to seventeen. Badger second free throw
got them both nothing but net five for Cam and
the Calves back up by two. Oh, here's Lunch with
a basketball. He's gonna dribble and dribble. Now they switch

(37:38):
hamming on him. He stops him again. Cox gets himself
in the air. Man beats him but didn't take the shot.
Now Cox got beat down low again, shot up and good,
and Caden Cox is just getting taken to the woodshed.
I'm not picking, he's just getting beat I think he's
worried about fouling. He's got three or four inches on

(37:59):
the man he's guard. But Lynch is able to get
to the bucket two four, six, eighty nine points here
in the second quarter for Patrick.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
Lynch looking for the three point play and he got.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
It standing the quarter for Lynch. Now stone King being pressured,
heavy pressure, finally gets it all the way down to Hitchins.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
Nice feed shot up on the layup.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
No good and a fouls Badger will get back to
the free throw line. Nice job of breaking the press.
Nice pass by Hitchins, and Cam will find himself back
to the foul line to shoot. Two Cabs trail for
the first time tonight twenty to nineteen. Billiam Davison really
trying to pick up the pressure and they have certainly

(38:52):
as Badger hits the foul shot here in the second quarter,
six for a Badger and von Miller's going to come
in and that's a defensive replacement. Kayden Cox out and
Hitchin's out and ligging in. On the first quarter, it
was maur taking it to the bucket. Second quarter it's

(39:13):
Lynch going to the hoop for ten points. Four layups
and two free throws. Badgers free throw.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
Got a boat.

Speaker 3 (39:21):
Cam's got seven to lead all Cabs scores. They've only
got six up on the board. But I strongly disagree.
I think he's got seven. Left wing didn't take the three.
Now under it goes to Remliner forces it to the bucket.

(39:42):
And throws it in and I do mean throws it
in good defense. Remblin are able to shoot half a runner,
half a jump shot, got it to go. Hammond was
left open, drives baseline instead, didn't take the shot, kicks
it back out one. Healiar Davidson on top. Badger works

(40:05):
his way inside, forces us shot up.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
No good.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
Here comes a fast break three on two. He goes
to Raglan, pulls it back.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
Long three no good him and got.

Speaker 3 (40:16):
Shot from behind, but fortunately goes out off of Hilliar
Davidson on three was taken by maur socks back in
lynch out or excuse me, ligan out.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
So the calves back.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
Stone King had the original starting five, get it into
one miller, foul was on. I think the calves are
going to shoot that foul. Calves were having trouble getting
it in bounds. Got it to one miller, got hit

(40:56):
from behind and carte Liggoann's going to come right back
in on the line. Will be one miller, two shots
for one miller. Free throw up, no good, Roger said.
The other calves not able to hit their free throws,

(41:20):
they'd be tracked with the calves.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
I would guess the Calves.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
Are not much more than fifty percent from the foul line.
Miller second free throw that time he got it go
on with three and we're tied twenty two apiece one
thirty five. Well, the Calves that made another change. They

(41:45):
bring in Noah Netter and are they going to play
a zone? I think they are. I think that's a
great choice. Backside feed, long three point shot, no good rebound.
Hitches Kitchens coming out with it being chased from behind.
Now he's going to go onto the basket.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
Put it up.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
No good and just a little bit unsure for Vic.
He did a good job bringing it down the floor.
He got left open and then kind of half shot
a layup and couldn't get it to connect. Wide open
three point shot, no good, long rebound taken by Davidson
back underneath. Nice block by Noah Netder gets the ball Netdter,
great defensive play, get it ahead to the Leggan almost

(42:23):
lost the ball. Give it up, Carte, give it up
and a fowl. Well you got ligand Hitchens and Netter
in the ball game.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
For the Calves. Coach Beard is running them in and
out like a automobile.

Speaker 3 (42:46):
Assembly line tonight. I mean They're rolling in and out
three at a time. Calves have a stone King back
in Badger Miller original starting five forty five seconds high
post Cox almost though away.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
He did throw it.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
Away, and now he's going to run and playing defense
and offense. So Cox back out, Miller back out, stone
King back out, twenty two, twenty two, and the Cavs

(43:25):
will go back to the zone. Only Hammon and Badger
starters are in there. And now the zone and Dailiar
Davison's just going to keep it out to mid court
line and they're going to call time out. Keep it
right here in the thirty second time out. Well, Hilary

(43:47):
Davidson only six points in the first quarter. They have
ripped off sixteen here in a second two, four, six, eight, ten, twelve, fourteen,
sixteen and ten of the sixteen from Patrick Lynch. Well,
the Cavaliers I got Miller with three cocks with four.

Speaker 2 (44:07):
Stone King with four.

Speaker 9 (44:17):
Mm hm m hm.

Speaker 2 (44:24):
M h man. What there okay?

Speaker 3 (44:52):
Out of the time out hill, Your Davidson is gonna
come out chill the coffee in his own hill. Your
David's gonna stand in the middle of the floor and
dribble down for the last ten seconds, now nine, now
eight Lynch, He'll look to drive. He's driving against the zone,
loses the ball momentarily. Oh wow, tough call, and I
think that will send Lynch to the line. He was

(45:15):
driving into the middle of the zone, got trapped and
he got bailed out by the official on a reach
end call.

Speaker 2 (45:23):
He'll go to the line.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
With two point seven seconds and a chance to put
Hilliard up.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
Free throw perfect.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
Lynch has been a one man show in the second quarter.
He's not a very big guy. Second free throw perfect,
two point seven seconds, get it to Hitchens.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
Hitchen's not going.

Speaker 3 (45:51):
To get a shot off, and he launches it from
half court, comes up well shortened and that ends the
first half.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
Well.

Speaker 3 (45:59):
The Caves led by at the end of one, but
they trail by two at halftime and intermission. Chella Kathy
twenty two and Hilliard Davidson twenty four. We'll take a
look at halftime score. And you're listening to Cavs coverage
on WBX.

In this station, Craig making back here at Hillard Davidson
on the home of the Calves WBXCID to have you
along with the Calves build an early league.

Speaker 3 (48:26):
Got off to a great start, led ten to one,
lead twelve to six to the end of the first quarter,
and in the second quarter they were outscored eighteen to
ten and a two point advantage for the Wildcats at
halftime twenty four to twenty two.

Speaker 2 (48:43):
For Hilliar Davidson.

Speaker 3 (48:45):
They started off and the Calves did a great job
defensively and it was kind of early on one pass,
take a three, maor hit a three. In the first
quarter he had five of those six points. But that's
the only three Hilliard hit in the first half, as
it turns out. But in the second quarter, Mara got
to the bucket laid in the first quarter for a
layup and then they were able to pretty much get

(49:06):
the ball the top of the key, give themselves the
lane and they got themselves down the lane just using
their body. Well, they're not a real big team. And
it was Patrick Lynch in the second quarter. Two four
six eight nine ten.

Speaker 2 (49:23):
Twelve Am I right? Yeah? Twelve points.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
Yeah, two four six, eight nine ten twelve points for Lynch.
He had three four foul shots and four shots made
in all. Four shots were layups and a lot of
those he was just able to kind of shake and
bake and get his body inside of Cayden Cox. And again,
not a real big guy. Cayden has a height advantage,

(49:49):
but he's able to use his body, get in, get
it off the glass. And Lynch with a huge second
quarter with twelve points fourteen sixteen eighteen. Uh yeah, and
then the other two Rimliner got two points. Horston had
four points, one of those on a drive to the bucket.
So if you summarize the first half, I think Hillar

(50:11):
Davidson said, you know what, let's quit taking so many threes.
We're not taking a three off a one pass like
we did in the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (50:18):
Let's take it to the bucket.

Speaker 3 (50:19):
And they've been able to get it man to man,
to beat the calves down the lane and get shots
in on the glass. Again, they're doing a good job
of kind of using their body and finesse to get
it off the glass and score. But that's how they've
come back. They also picked up their defense a bit. Defensively,
Cavaliers used a lot of substitutes in and out in
that second quarter. Let's look at scoring for Chilli. Cothy

(50:41):
cam Badger leads the way with seven. I got Cam
with one, two, three, four, five foul shots in a
lay up for seven points to lead Chilicthy Andrew Hammond
with four, Cooper stone King with four. I got Cooper
with two free throws, Cayden Cox with four. He's got

(51:02):
two free throws and Jan Miller with three and he's
got one foul shot. Calves have done a fair job.
They missed a couple free throws as they got Hitchens
was unable to connect on his foul shot and neither
was Carte Ligan on his as well. But the Calves
have done it within two. They had a lead of

(51:24):
nine at one time and they trailed halftime twenty four
to twenty two. Encouraging part is all five starters are
in the scoring column again, led by Badger seven, Hammond four,
Stonking four, Cox four and Miller with three. Let's take
it another time out at halftime here on the west
side of Columbus aid Hillary Davidson twenty four to twenty two,

(51:47):
Watcats on top. We'll be back with more halftime chatter
after this time out.

Speaker 3 (53:54):
Greg making back lydia A Hillary Davison High School Calves
stepping out of the fac tonight for a non league
game against the D one school up here to Hilliard
and they trailed twenty four to twenty two. Calves are
actually back out pretty quickly to take the warm up
shots and coach be I would guess again and from
my comments here watching the in the first half that

(54:17):
Coachri said, you know why we're we're looking for the
open man. We're taking pretty good shots. Haven't turned it over?
A whole lot. Yeah, if there's one thing I would
have thought that the Cavs had to talk about as
the fact that guys, we're giving it. We've just given
up too many layups. So you know, you want to
pressure the basketball, but you got to figure out if
your man's quicker than you, or he's able to get

(54:38):
inside of you, then something's got to either got to
switch me in or you got to get better week
side help. Or they did play a little bit of zonely,
they put in a Liggan, Hitchens and Netter and played
zone there. Late Hilliard wound up just holding the basketball
in that final forty seconds, so and I think part
of that was the fact that, you know why they
haven't really hit three speaking of Hilliard Davidson, and we've

(55:01):
been letting them get to the buckets.

Speaker 2 (55:02):
So maybe that's why I'm not sure.

Speaker 3 (55:04):
Foul wise, I don't believe anybody for the Calves.

Speaker 2 (55:10):
According to the scoreboard.

Speaker 3 (55:12):
I think cam Badger has a single foul, and again
a couple of starters on that, but I have Hitchings
down for one and so we shall see it. Don't
think Stoneking has more than one either, So we'll see
if the Calves. What they try to do defensively, it's
just a matter of doing a little better jobs, staying
in front of their man or getting a better matchup,

(55:33):
you know, early on and I don't know the averages
that well for Hillary Davison, but Maur looked to me
like the guy that was looking to shoot, and that's
who Jan Miller was guarding. So that tells me he
normally guards the best offensive player. But as they have developed,
and then in the second quarter, Lynch went off and
he was guarded by Cock. So we'll see how they

(55:53):
elect to do it, and the Calves will go at
the original starting five. They trailed twenty four to twenty two.
I'll tell you what, this gym is freezing cold. I'm
not sure anybody can shoot tonight. It is cold in here.
Stone King gets it into Hammond. Hammond brings it across

(56:15):
the time line, hands it back to Cooper.

Speaker 2 (56:17):
Cooper works to beat his man.

Speaker 3 (56:21):
And as little starters, wraggling back in Badger beats his
man down the lane, put it up no good, and
he's fouled. But Cam's been able to do that, been
able to get a half a step, get his body
there and then scoop it up on going down the
right side of the lane and picking up the foul.

(56:46):
Badger leads all till Kathi scores with seven. All scores
are led by guard Patrick Lynch. You had twelve all
in the second quarter. Badger's free throw no good. We
cam has been hit. Always foul shots until that one

(57:10):
cam second free throw you missed them both. It's something
I always like to see when you come back out
in this to start the second half. I'd love to
see guys that try to least get a couple of
free throws, get their feel on foul shots. And the
Calves have been to the foul line a lot. Well,
here's your answer on defense for Chillicothee and kudos to

(57:31):
Pat Beard. They're playing a zone and I think they
need to. You know, now if this team starts hitting threes,
you change it up a little bit. But now maur
Fakes got his man in the air, kicks to the corner,
back out to Malor on the right wing. He goes
to Lynch working against his zone back on top. Maur
Fakes got by Miller again, but they go to the

(57:53):
corner at wrangling long three left side. No good rebound
battle for Hammond gets it and lost it to Andrew
had it. He was trying to tip it to himself
and Ragling got a hand on and got it back.
Now maur for Three missed it long rebound. Stone King,
nice job calvs coaching staff. I think he talked about it, said,

(58:14):
you know what, let's see if they can beat us
from the outside. They haven't shown that, and we've been
getting beat on the dribble. Cox almost lost the dribble.
Stone King. Hilliard has done a much better job after
that first quarter, playing defense, really getting there. They get
their hands on a lot of basketballs. Nice pick and roll,
badger inside Thanks, goes to the bucket and called for

(58:43):
an offensive foul. I'm not sure why, but they said
he drive to the bucket, that he hooked his man
with his off arm. I don't think Cam agreed, don't
think I agreed, but the three officials said it was
the ones that count. Raglan still twenty four to twenty two,

(59:04):
three points, shot no good and the rebound tied up
underneath and now we finally get a jump ball. So
Hilliar Davidson has started out missing three threes against the
zone to start the second half. Unfortunately the first time
they got nothing to rebound. That time they got tied

(59:24):
up and to get the ball back again, Maur down
inside working. Wow, that has to be an offensive foul.
Nice job von Miller substitution Horston. Horston will come in,
Maur will come out walk our pressure from the wildcats.

(59:50):
Well we've gone two minutes. Nobody scored in the second half.
Stone King trouble, gets it all the way up to
cam Badger, hands it off to Cox, double team back
to stone King. Not across the timeline yet. Now Cooper
will come across the right side. Now he beats his
man to the right side, gets into the middle of
the lane, and that's gonna be another bumping fowl.

Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
Good jock, I complained earlier about the officials.

Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
I'll tell you what and did a nice job, will
last couple of times not allowing that physical contact. Yeah,
so there's a foul on the way to the bucket
inside feed Hammon put it up on the move, cann't
get it to drop and still nobody has scored in
second half. Down on the other end, napk out front

(01:00:34):
Lynch now left side wrangling. No good on the three
good rebound Caten Cox. Cox will bring it up himself
across the timeline, picks up his dribble, A little bit
of trouble, gets it to stone King, crossover dribble. Cooper
moving quickly, now gets it high post to Hammond. Fakes
doesn't take the shot back to Cooper a three point shot.

(01:00:55):
No good guys box out and the ball goes out
of bounds and it's going to stay with Chili Catholic
still twenty four to twenty two. That's where we were.
He started his second half. Cavs need to get a
bucket two pointer here, can get it tied up again.
Miller looking to throw it in, bounces it into stone

(01:01:19):
King double team ball on the floor and now I
sure Raglan tied it up. You thought he'd just won
a gold medal. He jumped up in.

Speaker 10 (01:01:33):
The air and.

Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
Calves doing a nice job of handling that. So the
jump ball alter any possession, badger will come out.

Speaker 3 (01:01:53):
I think it was a jump ball. I don't think
they called a foul. Calves stay in his own Raglan
working around the perimeter against the cave zone with out
played three minutes. Nobody scored in the second half. Horston
out on top Lynch right side back out on top

(01:02:14):
to Lynch. Maurs out of the game now three point
shot launched. Another miss three and another long rebound, but
this time Netter, who just came in the game for Badger,
gets the rebound, got it back. Stone King, looking to
go to the bucket on the other end, tried to
go to the bucket, but he got physically restrained from
doing so there by Lynch. Now stone King gets a pick.

(01:02:37):
Stone King starts to drive, looks to go baseline, spins
inside trouble traffic.

Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
Shoot it.

Speaker 3 (01:02:45):
He had a chance after they left off. Now he
does shoot it. Cooper from three got it. That would
need that on the board. In the second half, stone
King was seven and the Calves retake the lead. Twenty
five twenty four. We went halfway through the Quarterfore somebody's
score the credit the defenses on both sides. Raglan on

(01:03:08):
the wing Lynch Lynch has got all the points, but
he likes to drive. Now he does drive, kicks it
to the back corner. Three points shot at another miss three,
long rebound one. Miller got it all he thought he
had stone King and he threw it away. Another miss three.
The Cavs that long rebound, unable to corral it. Now
another long three, and finally they hit Lynch for three,

(01:03:36):
back to a two point advantage for Hilliary Davidson. Twenty
seven five three twenty to play third quarter. Miller beats
his man down the lane, puts a shot up, no good,
long rebound, battle for loose ball down to the other end.
It's Lynch all the way down and got it to go.

(01:03:57):
Lunch is having a night. Pretty good drive by Miller,
got caught there. The shot caromed out and the created
a fast break and now Cox double team that got
him from behind. Lynch all the way down and that's
going to be turning it over, turn it over, back
to the other end.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
Break for the Cavs with it now.

Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
This is a point in the game, and the Calves
so many games this year, their cruise along. It's a
tight game, and all of a sudden they have a
three or four minute spur where everything goes hey wire
and they're kind of in the middle of that right now.
They led twenty five twenty four Hillary Davidson on a
five to oh run and almost a seven o. Un Fortunately,

(01:04:41):
Lynch walked with the basketball stone King way out front,
legging back in the game. So is net or now
Cox from fifteen haven'd we go Caden Cox hadn't scored
for a while. Fifteen flut jump were good. Calves needed
that at their back within two twenty nine to twenty
seven two point fifteen to play third quarter, Calfs stay

(01:05:05):
in that zone defense Raglan Lynch Now to the corner.
I have a new player in the lineup. I believe
that's hammered back in. Now long three from the backside
corner long rebound kat and Cox has it one on
two and he's fouled.

Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
By Lynch on the way down the floor. Now Hitchen's
coming in and Miller out.

Speaker 3 (01:05:40):
Coach Pierce used a lot of people tonight in and
out even then Coss his bench is pretty much a
pretty young guy. Now trouble getting it in. They get
it to the ligand give it back to stone King.
Stone King down the lane heavy traffic. Fakes caught himself
in the lane and almost throws it away. Now Cox
saves it to the other end of the floor, grabbed

(01:06:01):
by Hillary Davison.

Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
A turnover. Lynch stops back out front.

Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
Now almost to travel and a shot of three no
good rebound ligging another miss three by the Wildcats.

Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
We're a minute thirty to play. Calves down by two.

Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
Stone Can gets a pick from Netter, can't find anyone
back on top to Cox to Hitchins. Minute twenty to play.
The Calves tie it up here if they can get
a bucket. Hitchins works one on two, has to give
it back to Carte Liggan. I don't have a lot
of offensive threats in here.

Speaker 10 (01:06:36):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:06:37):
They fill high post to Netter. Netter hands to Kayden Cox.
Cayden takes it to the whole fade away. Oh wow,
I am sure I made that runner water shot by
Katon Cox. He's got eight. We're tied twenty nine to
twenty nine. Down on the other end, hemmered for three.
It's an airball Cox with a rebound one on two.

(01:06:57):
Coach Pierce says, go ahead and take it one on two.

Speaker 2 (01:07:00):
M up shot.

Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
No good rebound into the corner grand by Carte Leggan
back under the Cox.

Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
Cox has fouled. Good call. You've got double team.

Speaker 3 (01:07:08):
He got hacked from behind, and I think he'll go
to line because I think that's five team fouls on
the Wildcats. Twenty nine a piece forty one seconds to play. Yeah,
I don't know how this normally is with Tonight's strategy.
Nice job at coach Beard going to I know he
doesn't like zone, but going to that zone. Defense and

(01:07:31):
Hilliard not been able to shoot their threes. Cayden Cox
hot here late in the quarter. He's got nine and
I believe he leads all Calvs scores. If he hits
this one, he would have ten and that would be
first Cave in double figures. Tonight, I had free throw up,
got it, substitution hamming back in. They'll give Cayden Cox

(01:07:57):
a little bit of a break the final forty one.
It's the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
The Calves.

Speaker 3 (01:08:04):
Fell behind by five, and now all of a sudden
they're back up by two thirty one twenty nine. Calves
will stay with that zone, why not ragling two three zone,
right side fake shot now Lynch corner rembliner will take

(01:08:25):
a three in and out and missed another one rebound.
Nice job by Nollen et ter a Hitchins. You don't
want to lose the ball here. You want the final shot.
Get it to stone King thirteen seconds. Cooper backs it
off a bit, got a good matchup here. He gets
a pick now Cooper fakes a shot, gets it to
hamm and Hammond for three, got it top of the
key Andrew Hammond one second and that'll do it. H

(01:08:50):
I spit it to the quarter for the Cavaliers. Hammond
hit a three from the top of the key and
that ends the third quarter. At the end of three
Chill thirty four and the wodcasts twenty nine back with
fourth quarter action cabs coverage in WBX.

Speaker 3 (01:10:10):
Get full court pressure, Cavs get the basketball first pressure
in full court stone King went to basketball netter stays
in the game, now past the Hammon. Cox is back
in the game. Ligan is in the game right now.
One Miller out, so is Badger. Now strive to the bucket.
How about that Katon Cox. He's got twelve. Cox has

(01:10:33):
come on here in the last several minutes. He's got twelve.
Stone King, Hammon, and Badger all have seven apiece three
point shot. Then they finally make one and it's the
same guy. It's Lynch. He had all five of their
points in the second quarter. That's a big bucket for
the Wildcats. They had probably had missed six or seven

(01:10:54):
threes in a row and Lynch able to connect on
that one. Now, stone King beats his man but pulls
it up. Got trouble, gets it down to the ligangging
hands on top to Cayden Cox Caden drives down the lane,
Traffic puts up a runner off the glass. All of
a sudden, Caden Cox is in flago using the glass,

(01:11:16):
hits the shot thirty eight to thirty two. Now down
the lane, wide open, kick it right corner three, got
it now.

Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
Hilliary Davidson starting the two threes in a row. That's Horsten.
Well they are.

Speaker 3 (01:11:29):
They weren't hitting, but they're still putting them up when
they hit their last two threes. Now it's back to
a three point ball game. Thirty eight thirty five Stone
King Hammond loose ball in the corner. It's nice hustle
by napsk ties it up jump ball. I think it
will go to the Wildcats. The Calves are going to

(01:11:54):
get Miller and Badger back in the game. If they
still stay zone, they might switch. Now that's thirty eight
to thirty five.

Speaker 2 (01:12:04):
They will.

Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
I think they're going to go back man to man.
That zone did a good job cooling off the Wildcats,
but they hit their last two threes.

Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
Now look for him, especially Lynch. The drive of the bucket.

Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
Lynch tried to get to the bucket guarded by one Miller,
almost taken away by Badger.

Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
Back out on top.

Speaker 3 (01:12:23):
It goes to Horston, Horston against Cocks, reaching kicks to
the corner and rambling her for three.

Speaker 2 (01:12:30):
Got it.

Speaker 3 (01:12:31):
He's taken a lot, but that's the first one he's
made all night long. And that's after being ice cold.
Hilliary Davison has hit three threes in a row to
come back to tie it. Thirty eight apiece stone Cake
right side, Hammon on the wing to one Miller. Five

(01:12:53):
and a half minutes left in the ball game. We're
all tied, and now one Miller called for a travel.
That was a five point lead at the end of
the third quarter. And after scoring five points in the
third quarter, Hilliard Davidson scored nine here in the fourth

(01:13:16):
they turn it over, Badger, give it stone King layup.

Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
Up, missed the shot tipped up. No good.

Speaker 3 (01:13:22):
Wow, the Cavs had a great opportunity that couldn't connect
down to the other end. Three point shot, no good
and long rebound knock to the other side and the
other three point shot and again no good. Over the
back on Hilliar Davidson, and we'll come to the other
rim with the basketball for Chilikanthy only the second foul

(01:13:50):
on Lynch. Lynch leads all scores. Leieve he has twenty
twenty of their thirty eight for Lynch. Miller brings it
down guarded by Emery, ended off to Kat and Cock.
Kitten had this couple buckets in a row, beats his
man puts up a runner. No good, long rebound goes

(01:14:10):
to the corner. Now an outlet pass. A nice play Hammon,
oh I thought it was going to go chillicathyway. What
a great play by Andrew Hammond. They tried to long
court off the rebound in the corner to get a
fast break.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
Hammond got a hand on it. There was a little
bit of a collision.

Speaker 3 (01:14:26):
The ball went out and off of Andrew, so Hilliard
gets a back tied thirty eight apiece. It costs the
first time Kitten's taking the ball of the hall and
was unable to score here in late in the third
early and the fourth givin go and that's going to
be an illegal pick on Napki, legal pick against stone King.

(01:14:49):
So offensive found on the Wildcats four thirty two left
thirty eight thirty eight. Cams have been outscored nine to
four here, but again give Hillar Davidson credit. They come
out and hit those three threes. After much of the

(01:15:11):
third quarter they weren't able to connect on anything. Badger
back in the game. Hammon back to him and had
an opening, nice delivery. Badger, Oh my god, Badger missed
the East of Goodness, what a passed by Andrew Hamm
and Cam Badger had a layup and there wasn't anyone

(01:15:32):
within five feet of Cam Badger and he missed the layup.
He just shot it right in the bottom of the rim.
I think he lost control of it. Some students behind
the basket for earlier Davison getting on Cam, and Cam's
got to ignore that still thirty eight to thirty eight, boy,
remember that play. Now a stone King gets beat on

(01:15:55):
the layup and good Hailo's Lynch on the crossover for
Lynch Hilliard back on top.

Speaker 2 (01:16:02):
Forty to thirty eight.

Speaker 3 (01:16:04):
Boy, Caves run a great offensive play and Cam just
came up missing. Now jump shot is up and bounces around.
No good, Hammon got the rebound, put.

Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
It back up. He can't connect.

Speaker 3 (01:16:14):
Calves down to under two good looks from Cox and
from Hammon couldn't get it to drop, and all of
a sudden, Calves have missed their last three shots and
now a foul on Cox and we're down to three
point thirty to play and the Calves are down by two.
I think coach Beards tried to use a lot of

(01:16:36):
bench tonight. I tried to give these guys because so
many times the Calves have trouble finishing and played pretty hard,
but not here in the last in the first three
or four minutes the fourth quarter, unable to finish, close
in on some shots, and they're down by two and
need to stop here. Now down under, shot up and
in one more time for Lynch. First of all, you

(01:17:02):
gotta find somebody can guard Lynch. Now we're back man
to man. He's going back to the hole with it,
and it's back to a four point advantage. Forty two
thirty eight. Miller back to Cox and I really need
a bucket here. Have not scored in a while. Leggan
back in the game, Carte with it in traffic, Carte
takes it inside, put it up, no good and the

(01:17:24):
rebounds saved back in. Now Carte puts it back up,
missed another layup. Well, the Calves have missed a million layups.
Lican missing twice down hunder and the Calves just can't
after a tremendous end of the third quarter, they're just
not able to get the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:17:43):
In the hole.

Speaker 3 (01:17:44):
Here in the fourth quarter, Cam's layup was nobody around him.
You know, the others have all been contested. Carte was
getting bumped, but he just got it up there twice
off the glass and it wouldn't go in and out.
Hilliare Davidson will pull back out up by four, dish
it inside. Napke shot in a foul, Kitchens back in

(01:18:09):
as well, Caps having to play man to man and
they find themselves down forty two to thirty eight, and
again only four points here in the fourth quarter for
the Cavaliers after they led by five at the end
of three free throw. No good by Napke. He has
not scored tonight. I'll get the second of a two

(01:18:36):
shot foul. We're down to two twenty four to play.
Hitchens back out lot of coach Pier substituting defense for offense.
Napke's second free throw, and we missed them both and
Hammon got the rebound, got killed. Come on, folks, Oh,
you gotta be kidding me. The Cavs just got it.

(01:18:57):
Look like a scrum in rug they had the rebound
and they got knocked down and lost the basketball. Now
dish inside back out. It goes to wragling down to
two minutes to play boy. Both free throws no good,
and Hillary Davidson got the ball back, go to the
left side. Three point shot not a good shot, and

(01:19:19):
we got a late call three point shot taken by Memory,
but somebody for the Calves picked up a late foul.
Hammond picked up the fouls. Three pointer was an airball,
and Andrew went flying out and evidently I can't see
for my vantage point, but evidently on the three point shot,

(01:19:42):
make contact. And I think we got three free throws
coming up before Hillary Davidson up and good. Emory hadn't
scored all night. Shot an airball there, but kind of
got bailed out by the foul. May the first, missed
the second. So it's a five point game, forty three

(01:20:05):
thirty eight spex free throw in and out back in

(01:20:27):
forty four to thirty eight. So two of the three
free throws good by Emory, and six point lead is
as big as it's gotten for Hilliard.

Speaker 2 (01:20:36):
Tonight, stone King brings it up.

Speaker 3 (01:20:41):
Stone King still dribbling right wing down inside to cam
badger cam working double team puts a shot up, had
a bump fowl underneath before cam shot. We're down to
minute forty to play. I believe only the third team foul,
so the Cabs will have it out of bound and
now time out solo Kathy time out on the floor.

(01:21:03):
Caps having a tough fourth quarter. They trail forty four
to thirty eight. They've scored only four points. We'll be
back in the thirty seconds. Caves coverage in WBX.

Speaker 4 (01:21:12):

Speaker 3 (01:21:45):
Life Calves trailed by two at halftime, came out with
a tremendous third quarter, especially the end of the third quarters.
Stone King hit a three, Hammon hit a three and
Kayden Cox took it to the whole three or four
times for buckets.

Speaker 2 (01:22:01):
And they built a thirty four factor. Being down. They
went up thirty four to twenty nine to start the
fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:22:07):
The bad news in the fourth quarter of the CAFs
and played for almost seven minutes.

Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
They've only scored four points.

Speaker 3 (01:22:14):
Meanwhile, Davidson able to do it now inside pass Ligan
this is another layup, but he's found a Carte will
go to the line if you're listening to it, and
he say, man, they miss a lot of layups. There's
in again today's world. When you shoot a layup, you're

(01:22:34):
pretty much it's like getting hit by linebacker in football.
I mean there's contact. Carte needs these foul shots.

Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
Nice job.

Speaker 3 (01:22:44):
Cartes hits that when he's in the scoring column, so
it's not like they're wide open. And now I think
we've got a thirty second time out.

Speaker 2 (01:22:55):
We'll keep it right here. But the one big one
for the Calves was.

Speaker 3 (01:23:04):
When they ran a beautiful pick and roll and Hammond
slipped it to Cam Badger coming down the lane, and
so many times there was contested layups I just mentioned,
but that's the one that Cam had there. I don't
know about midway here in the fourth quarter, and he
I still think he lost control of the ball, was slick.
He went up to lay it in and it kind

(01:23:25):
of went up to the bottom and hit the bottom
of the rim, didn't go in.

Speaker 2 (01:23:33):
Cam had a great first half.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
I got Badger with seven, I got Hammon with seven,
and I got stone King with seven, Miller with three
and the only cabin double figures Kayden Cox has fourteen.
A Carte Leggan the only bench player in the column
with a point. See if he can get the second
one on the foul shot. A nice job by Carte.

Speaker 2 (01:23:56):
That helps.

Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
He needed death calves are within four. We still got
a minute four to play full court pressure. Oh Hellar
Davison has a lot of guards. They're in trouble right now.
They might need to get a time out and they will.
They needed a time out to avoid the ten second violation,

(01:24:21):
so they call the time out to save the turnover.
Caps are back in coverage, Back in action and coverage
on WBX Tuesday night at home. They haven't had a
lot of home games this year so far. Tuesday night
it's Chellacathy versus Western Brown and we'll have that right
here in WBX. And then next Friday night to go
back to the FAC action where they are currently two

(01:24:44):
and one in conference play, and they travel to Greenfield
mcclan and doesn't really matter the record. It's always a
tough place to win at McClean. It'll be next Friday
night also here in WBX. Finish up the FAC with
McClain next right following week against Jackson. You know it'll

(01:25:04):
get too far ahead. But if the Cavs could do that,
they could knock off and get a road and went
on Tuesday and come back in get a win against Jackson.
I think that's a home game. They would finish the
first round four and one. Miami Trace currently leads conference
play and they have yet to lose some conference play.

(01:25:26):
Well back down on the back when Hilary Davison on
the Chilicathy in we'll throw it back in. After they
got that time out to save the ten second violation,
they get it into Malor, lob it up to Napke,
Napke back on top, almost through it away, got it
back to Braglan on the way and it goes Horston.

Speaker 2 (01:25:48):
Out top of the key. Napke.

Speaker 3 (01:25:49):
That's who you want to foul if you can. Now
Remblin or in the corner. Thought about a three back
to Remling or double team and I think they will
foul Rembliner with one oh on the clock. Yeah, in
the double bonus is the fifteen foul on chall Kathy

(01:26:10):
to the line, Drew Remliner and he's got five. He
hit a three here to start the fourth quarter, got
them going. It makes the free throw. Mliner was a
bug zero for four from the three point line. Hit
one in the corner start off the fourth quarter. And

(01:26:30):
then Lynchho's made everything tonight made a three and I
got them going, got him right back in the lead.
Rembling are both free throws. Hammon's going to come back
in for Chilla. Cofee Raglan comes in for Hilliard defensive
purposes and Davidson back up by six forty six forty
one seven one o six on the clock. Stone King,

(01:26:53):
guarded by Ragling, hands it off and got knocked down.
So Cooper stone King will go to the line. Not
a good foul if you heal your Davidson. They fought
through the pick and knock stone King. It was a

(01:27:14):
ball screen. He dribbled the ball, stopped and was handing
it off to Cocks and he got knocked down. Cooper's
free throw good eight for stone King, good balance for
the calves. To I now Hammon out, Ligan out. They'll
bring in Miller and Hitchin's defensive purposes. Hammon seven, stone
King now eight and cam Bacher was seven second free throw.

(01:27:39):
Stone King in and out, couldn't get it, and now
a foul stone King thought he had to steal.

Speaker 2 (01:27:47):
The fowl goes as Raglan will go to the other end.

Speaker 3 (01:27:50):
With under a minute to play, Raglan has one foul
shot tonight at one point. Patrick Lynch Senior twelve points
in the second quarter, and he is added eight ten
twelve in the second half. I believe I have him
for twenty four. We'll check six, eight, ten, twelve. You

(01:28:15):
know I had twelve and the second quarter. Did not
score in the first quarter, but Patrick Lynch has been
the man twenty four of their forty six. Now ragling
calves need rangling to miss a couple of these, and
oh wow, in and OUTU hit the top of the
square and bounce back in.

Speaker 2 (01:28:37):
Sometimes better to be lucky than good.

Speaker 3 (01:28:39):
But Rangling had the right spin on it and got
it to go in and back to a six point
laid for Davidson. Second free throw good that one perfect
three on the night for Raglan. Fifty seconds remain Calves
down by seven matches, the big leave of the night

(01:29:00):
for Hilliard, Stone King Hammond. Hammond wants to hand it
the Cox has it knocked away, stolen by Napke, and
that should about do it. Trying to run a little
handoff play. But they got a hand. Davidson got a
hand on a knocked out of Kayden's hand. Now pressure
outside lob to the deep corner to Raglan. Twenty eight seconds.

(01:29:22):
Ragling dribbles, dribbles back out out on top double team,
top of the key, Napke right back. We're down to
seventeen seconds and now dribbling nuts should do it down
to ten. Lynch with the basketball. Five seconds. Lynch throws

(01:29:48):
it down to the other end and.

Speaker 2 (01:29:49):
Now we'll do it. They run the clock out all
the Calves.

Speaker 3 (01:29:55):
There was a story a quarter, the great first quarter,
great third quarter, second quarter, back fourth quarter, and a
faull tonight forty eight, forty one as hiliar Davidson wins
it by seven over the Cavaliers.

Speaker 2 (01:30:09):
Welcome back and wrap this one up.

Making back with you. Theres the Chilichathy Cavaliers kind of
been the had been the theme of the season at
times for the Cavaliers, who came in three and four.
They fall to three and five, and that's play a
pretty solid game and just a couple spurts here and there,
can't quite finish and they lose to d one Hilliary
Davidson forty eight to forty one. Well, the stat that

(01:32:41):
jumps out at you is in the fourth quarter. The
end of the third, Chilichathy played tremendous, went to the zone.
Really bothered Hilly Davidson. They couldn't pick it inside, drive
it to the hoop. They don't really have any tall people,
but they couldn't hit a three. But things went in
the fourth quarter and they I thought Pat Beard did

(01:33:03):
a tremendous job of switching to the zone. It slowed
Hilliard down. Cavaliers played strong. Hammond hit a three, Stone
King hit a three and Cayden Cox took it to
the hole, made a couple of unbelievable runner shots for
six points, and that splurge the end of the third
had the Calves up thirty four to twenty nine.

Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
You stay in the zone.

Speaker 3 (01:33:24):
But at the end of the game, Hillary Davidson came
out Cavaliers just there was some traffic they couldn't connect inside.
And meanwhile Hillary davids come out and hit three of
their first four to three point shots after being and
I didn't wasn't able to keep stats by myself. Off
the top of my head, I would say Hillary Davidson
was one out of eleven or one out of twelve,
but all of a sudden they hit three or four

(01:33:44):
got themselves.

Speaker 2 (01:33:45):
Back into the lead.

Speaker 3 (01:33:46):
Calves wound up not able to score a lot in
the fourth quarter, and in that fourth quarter Tilicath they
got outscored nineteen to seven. So you're up by five
headed to the final eight minutes and you get knocked
there in the fourth quarter nineteen to seven. That was
a difference in the ballgame for the Wildcats of Hillary Davidson.
Even the record at five and five. Drew Remliner was

(01:34:08):
seven points, William Raglan with three foul shots three points,
Luke Emery two foul shots in two points. Parker Mauer
had the first five points of the game for Hilliar
Davidson did not score again. He wound up wounded up
with wound up with five and then seth Horston off
the bench. He had seven leading the wife for Hilliar Davidson,

(01:34:29):
Patrick Lynch twelve in the second quarter, twelve in the
second half for twenty four points. Now they only hit
they being Hillary Davidson, they hit one three in the
first half, but in the second half Horston hit one,
Lynch hit two and Remliner hit one. So they hit
four threes and those came pretty early in the fourth quarter,

(01:34:51):
got them from five down, got them up by three
or four, and then they were able to take it
on ind for the win. For Chillicathy tonight, not a
bad effort at all. We got six guys in his
scoring column tonight. Van Miller had three early points, three
four one, Cooper stone King with eight, Andrew Hammond was seven.
They don't think Andrew got a three there the third quarter.

(01:35:13):
That was his only other points in the second half.
Cam Badger with seven played good first half, tough second
half as far as the physicality underneath against Cam leading
the way. Only man in double figures tonight for Chilicopy
Caden Cox with fourteen. Cartelegan added two foul SATs late
in the game for two points. So you got Licoln

(01:35:35):
two Miller three seven apiece for Hammon and Badger, eight
for stone King and fourteen for Caden Cox. Well that'll
about wrap it up. Calves make the long trip tonight
and kept thinking they were again the first quarter they
had a twelve six advantage. They got outscored eighteen to

(01:35:56):
ten in the second quarter, and they got outscored nineteen
to seven in the five four. So those odd number
quarters were good. Even number of quarters hurt him, and
again the Calves not quite able to You know, you
don't put thirty two minutes together. But you know, I
don't know that there were really really bad streaks. It's
just the way the game played out. Hillary Davison. All

(01:36:18):
of a sudden they hit three or four threes in
the fourth quarter, and the Calves had done everything up
to that point, but the offense got and I don't
want to use the word stang that the offense struggled
a little bit in the fourth quarter. I thought they
let him play. Calves had some I know, I said
a lot of times inside lay up missed, but they
let him get pretty physical inside and the Calves couldn't
finish on a couple of those close end shots. And

(01:36:41):
all of a sudden Davidson being the home team, got
it rolled in the fourth quarter pull away for the win. Well,
we hope you'll join us for more coverage coming up
