Sokal to the silver screen. This week, we are talking
about the new movie Scream seven. Did you know you
needed a seventh Scream movie? Well apparently everyone did, because
there is one. There may are all. There may also
be a few more as well. We're going to talk

Now it's great. I think she she loses a sun
or something. I know that sounds very up lifting, but
it's a great. The way that they shoot that. It's

Is Blind episodes, You've got Fresh Bridge and episodes as
you make your way into the movie and in the weekend.
But in terms of movies, let's so.

There's a couple of things we can talk about. One
I'm very excited about. Are you guys Beatles fans? Do
you like Paul McCartney.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
I don't have a problem with them, but I've never
I'm glad you don't have a problem with one of
the greatest rock bands of all time. They were just
never I've got no beef with the Beatles.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
They were just never going to talk us about the Beatles, honest.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Okay, all right, that wings era of Paul McCartney. All right, Well,
there's a new documentary that focuses on not just the Beatles,
but Paul McCartney specifically and his life after the Beatles.
It's also focuses heavily on his love life and finding
love with Linda, who you know many regardless, and I'm
sure he does too, the.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Love of his life.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
But it's a really interesting and beautiful way to tell
his story and how it's sort of the music he
was making and the choices he was making while sort
of adjacent to the other members of the Beatles bands,
like what they were doing at the time, but the
focus is solely on him. Beautiful footage, concert footage songs

are all there, all the familiar songs that we that
people know and love from the Paul McCartney specifically, And.

Yeah, it's a beautiful me.

It's available and select theaters, but also you can watch
it on Prime video, so we love some options.

Scream seven, I did not know that there have been
six of these. It is not doing well on Rotten Tomatoes.
It has the lowest score Enfranchise history. Nev Campbell is back, Yeah,
taking time off of Lincoln Lawyer.

Yes, yes, so nobody really, I don't know. Scream is
one of those franchises that is a like Fast and Furious,
just keeps going.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Right, why not if it's still making money and that's it.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
It still makes money. Even a bad Scream movie is
still going to make money. So this one follows a
group of Scream fans. They all know who ghost faces,
they know the idea behind this killer and this lore,
and they go and they stay at like a ghost
face themed Airbnb, you know, and then they're like, nothing's
gonna happen. This is so cool, and they're in the

face of like, you know, the with the ghost face
with the knife, and they're like, see it's robot, it's
not real.

And then you know, wackiness ensuits. It's real. It's real.

Surprise, it's gonna do well even though it's getting the
worst reviews, and franchise History is going to do well,
and there's going to be more scream movies.

It's all These aren't expensive to crank out. It can't be.

No, they're super cheap. It's horror movies. And that's why
we have so many. Even on weekends where I'm like, guys,
there's not much of the box office, there will always
be a horror movie that's being released somewhere because people
just love that genre.

They love horrors. Yeah, I don't say it again, horror.

but we're talking about the world of entertainment. But I
did want to ask you quickly because we now know
that that paramount is going to take over Warner Brothers
Discovery and they're taking over everything.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
They are taking over everything. This is a surprising flip
of what the original intention was when we all thought
that Warner Brothers and Netflix were going down a certain path.
I mean, David Zaslov and Ted Saranda's all those guys
they were on they took a tour of the Warner
Brothers lot, they had a photo op there. Well, now
(07:50):
things have flipped over and it looks like Paramount sky
Dance has won the bidding war for Warner Brothers Discovery.
The final price tag one hundred and eleven billion dollars.
Netflix is walking away from it's eighty two point seven
billion dollars. That means David Ellison and then the Paramount
crew will all have control of Warner Brothers, HBO, CNN,

and CBS, which is the large one of the going
to be one of the largest entertainment empires in the world.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
It's a massive deal now to know how the.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Like Wolf of Wall Street or whereas the Big Short
things were really dumb down. I need a movie on
this deal and what happened now and all the players.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
And what it all means.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
Like I need, you know, Margot Robbie in a hot
tub explaining to me how this deal worked, how it
went through, what it means for the future.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
That's what I need.

I feel like I need that too, because there's there's
so much going on behind the scenes that we don't
know about and we will probably never know about. You
know that these wheeling and dealing that happens in boardrooms
on jet planes, you know whatever. But obviously something happened
and something switched, and the switch up happened just a
few hours after, maybe in the same day that Ted

Sarandos went to visit the White House. We don't know
what happened in that meeting, We don't know what was said.
All we know is that then Netflix is pulled out,
has pulled out of their bid for Warner Brothers. Basically,
Ted Sarandos said this was a deal that was always
quote nice to have at the right price, but not
a must have at any price. So basically he was like,

this would have been cool to have, but we're not
willing to pay this much for.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
It was to walk out of that like that.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
This impact also the idea that Netflix was originally going
to take over Warner Brothers. There was a huge concern
that that was going to be yet another nail or
the biggest nail in the coffin for movie theaters.

Theaters. Yeah, and this at.

Least keeps the nails off to the side for now.
For now, there's plenty of other things that would go
into the death of movie theaters as we know them
that would have if Netflix had won this, they would
have that would have sped up considerable Gary.

the Bay Watcher reyboot while I was gone?

so ago. Bay Watch is going to be filming here
in Los Angeles and Malibu, specifically Yay filming in LA
And they had an open casting call for bay Watch actors,
for models and want to be you know, this seems
like it was the recall election in California.

This is what the casting everybody, everybody, I mean the characters.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yeah, that came out.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
A Greek Bachelor winner, a seventy seven year old who
was Pamela Anderson's stand in, a self described clown.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
All the freaks came out. And this is also twenty
twenty six. The old version of Baywatch was made at
a time when you could have one body type on television, yes,
and celebrate it and love it. And that was it
and there were no questions asked. Everybody watched it.

There were different booths, there were different boob sizes.

But do you think that's Yeah, I don't think it's
going to be different. I think we're going to see
a lot of the same.

I think they have a formula on Baywatch.

jogged down the beach.

I feel like Baywatch is one of those things like
I never watched mash Or Gilligan's Island, but I knew
what those were. I think bay Watch is one of
the things that's totally Yeah. The Elvis footage before we

So there's an Elvis documentary and Baz Luhrman has this
continuing his fandom obsession whatever you want to call it.
With Elvis Presley, he has released a documentary with So
I don't know how they still have unfound footage of
Elvis at this point, but he found some. And this
is a documentary that is told through off camera interviews

and it's about his time specifically at his Las Vegas residency,
which is also what Baz Luhrman's film was about, which
came out a few years ago. If you're a fan
of Elvis, then you will love anything Elvis related. I
am a huge Elvis fan. I grew up on Elvis
Poke Salad Annie is one of my favorite songs. But

I'm I'm I will watch this and I will probably
watch it with my eighty year old mom.

Discovery and they're taking over everything.

They are taking over everything. This is a surprising flip
of what the original intention was when we all thought
that Warner Brothers and Netflix were going down a certain path.
I mean, David Zaslov and Ted Saranda's all those guys
they were on they took a tour of the Warner
Brothers lot, they had a photo op there. Well, now
(07:50):
things have flipped over and it looks like Paramount sky
Dance has won the bidding war for Warner Brothers Discovery.
The final price tag one hundred and eleven billion dollars.
Netflix is walking away from it's eighty two point seven
billion dollars. That means David Ellison and then the Paramount
crew will all have control of Warner Brothers, HBO, CNN,
(08:10):
and CBS, which is the large one of the going
to be one of the largest entertainment empires in the world.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
It's a massive deal now to know how the.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Like Wolf of Wall Street or whereas the Big Short
things were really dumb down. I need a movie on
this deal and what happened now and all the players.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
And what it all means.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
Like I need, you know, Margot Robbie in a hot
tub explaining to me how this deal worked, how it
went through, what it means for the future.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
That's what I need.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
I feel like I need that too, because there's there's
so much going on behind the scenes that we don't
know about and we will probably never know about. You
know that these wheeling and dealing that happens in boardrooms
on jet planes, you know whatever. But obviously something happened
and something switched, and the switch up happened just a
few hours after, maybe in the same day that Ted
(09:01):
Sarandos went to visit the White House. We don't know
what happened in that meeting, We don't know what was said.
All we know is that then Netflix is pulled out,
has pulled out of their bid for Warner Brothers. Basically,
Ted Sarandos said this was a deal that was always
quote nice to have at the right price, but not
a must have at any price. So basically he was like,
(09:25):
this would have been cool to have, but we're not
willing to pay this much for.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
It was to walk out of that like that.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
This impact also the idea that Netflix was originally going
to take over Warner Brothers. There was a huge concern
that that was going to be yet another nail or
the biggest nail in the coffin for movie theaters.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Theaters. Yeah, and this at.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Least keeps the nails off to the side for now.
For now, there's plenty of other things that would go
into the death of movie theaters as we know them
that would have if Netflix had won this, they would
have that would have sped up considerable Gary.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Did you go to the Fox open casting call for
the Bay Watcher reyboot while I was gone?
Speaker 2 (10:08):
I am not going to answer that. Well, why you
were a swimmer.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
I've seen you in your swim trunks, so you have

They were not red, they were black and purple. Oh
all right, Like the bruises on Shannon's legs.

Oh my god, that sounds so violent.

I don't have any bruises on my legs anymore.

But I gotta say I drove by a ladies club.

Outside of a spot like twenty nine out there in

Oh my god, those walls were screaming bruises.

I mean it was daylight time, but all I look
at that building and all I could hear were bruises.

Oh that was a very funny. I read that article
from Variety about the weirdness that was.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
So for those who don't know in the last week
or two. I think maybe just about a week or
so ago. Bay Watch is going to be filming here
in Los Angeles and Malibu, specifically Yay filming in LA
And they had an open casting call for bay Watch actors,
for models and want to be you know, this seems
like it was the recall election in California.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
This is what the casting everybody, everybody, I mean the characters.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yeah, that came out.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
A Greek Bachelor winner, a seventy seven year old who
was Pamela Anderson's stand in, a self described clown.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
All the freaks came out. And this is also twenty
twenty six. The old version of Baywatch was made at
a time when you could have one body type on television, yes,
and celebrate it and love it. And that was it
and there were no questions asked. Everybody watched it.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
There were different booths, there were different boob sizes.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
But do you think that's Yeah, I don't think it's
going to be different. I think we're going to see
a lot of the same.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Yes, I don't think this is going to be a
gap advertisement.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
This is gonna be benet I was.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Gonna say, isn't the United I don't think so either.
I think they have a formula on Baywatch.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
They know what works right and push back to inclusivity.
These days, there's a lot of pushback to the DEI inclusive,
all that stuff that was in vogue like eighteen months ago.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Now people are back. The pendulum has swung the other way.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
I wish I had known about this in advance. I
would have tried to go down there and like interview
people and get some video and see like, why do
you want to be on bay Watch? Because a lot
of the people who were down there do you know
what bay Watch is? Here's the deal. It's because actors
are we are so desperate for work right now that
we're like, sure, I'll put on a red bikini and
jogged down the beach.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
I feel like Baywatch is one of those things like
I never watched mash Or Gilligan's Island, but I knew
what those were. I think bay Watch is one of
the things that's totally Yeah. The Elvis footage before we
let you go, Yes, Oh my god, what's going on
with that?
Speaker 1 (13:04):
So there's an Elvis documentary and Baz Luhrman has this
continuing his fandom obsession whatever you want to call it.
With Elvis Presley, he has released a documentary with So
I don't know how they still have unfound footage of
Elvis at this point, but he found some. And this
is a documentary that is told through off camera interviews
(13:25):
and it's about his time specifically at his Las Vegas residency,
which is also what Baz Luhrman's film was about, which
came out a few years ago. If you're a fan
of Elvis, then you will love anything Elvis related. I
am a huge Elvis fan. I grew up on Elvis
Poke Salad Annie is one of my favorite songs. But
(13:45):
I'm I'm I will watch this and I will probably
watch it with my eighty year old mom.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
I'll totally watch this.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
I love I love the idea of extra Elvis footage.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
Yeah, Also, to go back to the Beatles thing, I
would much rather watch Elvis.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Really, but you're an American. Maybe that's why.

Maybe that's exactly the blue blooded, red blooded. You're blooded,
and you're in America.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
You got you got blood, you got blood, You're very
in America.

Also, the big story this weekend Guys SAG Awards, the
Actor Awards are.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
On Sunday night. We didn't even get to that one.
We don't have time, but you're going to be devastated.

Yes, yeah there on YouTube. It is the Actor's Awards, guys.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
So they call them the actis.

I can't wait to check out the Actor Awards and
see who wins. I have a sneaking suspicion that Hamnett
is going to walk away a big winner. As well
