Known as the WordSmyth, there really isn’t a mode of creative communication Malik Yusef hasn’t conquered or contributed to. The avant-garde spoken word poet is a thoughtful deep thinker, always looking to connect on a human level with his audience. He shares with Jeanne about his thirst for life; that to become a visionary, you must always embrace the vision; the important difference between liberation and freedom; and why you have to be fearless to dig through the dirt to get to the good stuff.
Malik Yusef is a multi-Grammy and Emmy award-winning spoken word artist, songwriter, motivational speaker, and super producer with Universal Music Publishing. Most recently, he co-wrote “Sandcastles” on Beyoncé’s album Lemonade, and co-wrote and contributed to 15/18 tracks on Kanye West’s album The Life of Pablo. He is also a global philanthropist and environmentalist with a focus on social justice and economic empowerment, collaborating with Leo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, and Jaden Smith.
