(01:24):
they're showing video right now, I always look just dive
into the studio and then putting on Sports Center NFL
Live seeing what the latest scuttle buddy is around the NFL.
And there is Joe Burrow, Toburrow, Toborough So that's pretty good. Thanks.
Full participant in practice again today and we talked about
it yesterday. They are pushing for this guy. They are
(01:45):
lay this week against New England. I mean they're really
pushing for it.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Trey.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah, I know, just I I get it.
Speaker 9 (01:52):
You invest in the guy and maybe it's coming from
an owner's perspective. I think Chad was a Chad yesterday
they called in was like I'm paying him, I want
to play him. Yeah, And I get that portion of it.
But at the same time. Man, the last thing you
need to do is rush the guy to come back.
And I feel like this is a Joe Burrow thing.
I feel like every time he's injured, just like, oh,
we got to rush to get him back on the field.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah. Yeah, I think it's him. Really, He's the one
that's like, and other players have talked about this, you
don't want to be labeled as the guy, right right,
Oh he's out again. Ah, he's not going to play
in November December. I think he's working his way back
quicker than we all thought.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Here.
Speaker 9 (02:23):
I get that, but at a certain point, you know,
as an owner, as a as a coach, you protect
the guy from himself, right you all right? Look Jo, like,
I know you want to come back, but let's let's
give it another week.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Let's go to Thanksgiving. I mean, you weren't.
Speaker 9 (02:34):
You were supposed to be out the whole season. So great, Yeah,
we were thankful you're at least back.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Yeah. We were just talking about that a few weeks ago, like,
oh man, it's tough. You know, the pieces together here
with Joy Flacco and obviously that hasn't gone well, but
it's gone about as good as we knew it would.
I mean, he's gonna be a stealer next year. Go off,
bet on, it's gonna be Joe Flacco. He's gonna gonna
make the whole round, all right. A pair of big
questions of the day Rocky by Ingles Markets, and they're
(02:59):
kind of movie related here. Okay, So the first one
is as follows, If you can make a thirty for
thirty documentary about any current athlete, who would it be? Yes?
And follow up question and we do this one a
long time ago or a variant of this one. The
(03:19):
best and worst sports movies of all time? Best and
worst we did Mount rushmore but best your favorite sports
movie ever and the worst one that just stinks? Two
for zero, I for eight zero. Let's talk about documentaries.
Speaker 10 (03:34):
I think.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
I think basically doing one himself. Gotta say, I think
if we could, you know, well, we'll gather this audio
in a minute that we like to play every single
day on this show. The running back for the New
York Giants that is spending more time right now in
his gaming chair and on live streams and with as
he calls hey chat hey chat cam skataboo. That would
(04:01):
be the guy that I would look at and say, yeah,
you know what, there's the thirty for thirty that we need,
like right now, right right now, just him and Gronk together.
Just let let it Cronk and Scataboo.
Speaker 10 (04:15):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
And then you've got Jameis Winston. And Jamis has had
such a dynamic path and it hasn't all been funny.
I mean, look, there were some things at Florida State
that weren't great allegations and of course some other misconduct
and uh. And then his NFL journey was just really
hit or miss to this point.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah, when you talk about the fact that he throws
a lot of touchdowns, there's a lot of interceptions. But boy,
he's fun boy. He has turned the corner in terms
of flipping the narrative about his career. At first he
was sort of villainized and vilified and he earned some
of that quietly went about his business as a backup
quarterback in this league. And now he's emerged as a
(04:54):
true entertainer, a true entertainer. My man, he's fun. Oh
dub cam Scataboo. Uh, I'm trying to find new fresh
audio of Scataboo. There was one It was a good video.
I don't think it was good audio. It's nothing we
could do with it. We could try. It's great. It's
(05:17):
it's him in his looks like his mother's basement. Basically
it does. And he's like, literally you you imagine a
guy in the NFL. And this is the misnomer, but
a lot of these new NFL rookies that all they've
got a ton of money, boom, they have this palace
all of a sudden right away. Not Scataboo, his his
back drop. It's just it's Rott's garbage. I think half
(05:39):
of it's him too. It's just it's his own stuff.
It's a fat athhead of him. It's just a self promoter.
Gotta love it. But there was audio last night of
Cam Scataboo hanging out, uh with the the chat group
that he hangs out with every night, but on twitch,
I guess probably whatever stream and he's a streamer. He
(06:02):
said what it was it it was a rain what
they're called rain these rings? Oh the energy drink? Is
that what it is? I think I thought it was
a beer at first. No, no, no, no, it's it's
definitely an energy drink. So he takes he's tagged the shoe.
He gets one of his cleats, shoe he might not
be big enough, and he starts pouring this monster energy
drink into one of his cleats that he probably wore
(06:23):
by the way, I'm sure, and he just chugs that
thing down in less than like ten seconds, ends up
ripping his shirt off, staring at them, and gets a taco.
And yeah, I forgot about the top. I was really
impressed because he didn't spill any of it.
Speaker 9 (06:43):
I was like, I guess you can dominate the period.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
I know, right, he the taco technique I got. Actually
didn't even pay attention to that because I was so mesmerized.
He didn't seven other things going on in that video.
The taco. He didn't turn the taco to you. So
you turn to taco for you, you get speaking of
it's that one word that makes the difference, the taco
for you.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Here's Cam scattabo We're gonna talk sports in a minute, do'torry,
but here here's Cam scataboy from the other day on
on Twitch talking about taco techniques.
Speaker 11 (07:15):
Y'all, do you like turn your head to eat a
taco or do you turn the taco for you like
are you dominant to the taco or to the taco?
Speaker 12 (07:27):
Like do you turn your head for the taco?
Speaker 1 (07:30):
It's like, what the hell is he talking about?
Speaker 12 (07:33):
What Kim, It's it's about the dominance of the taco though.
If you're not, if you're turning the taco, you're dominating
the taco.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
I get sound bang a taco for you. That's that's
a sound banker right there. That's that's an all timer.
That would be the guy. I mean, look, there there
are other more compelling stories out there we'd like to
see there are, but for the comedic value of it,
My god, thirty for thirty on the life of Cam Skataboo.
He has built for New York. He's I mean, like
(08:07):
Tommy Cutlet's was a good story for it was it
was like, it was fun, it was local. It made
sense the minute he was drafted to that team, and
just knowing the way he was in college, the way
he played, and how much of a maniac he was
off the field, Hello New York, Hello braid lights. It
might be a dumpster fire. He might end up being
(08:29):
injured every single year. I don't know. I hope not.
But people need to chill out. And let the kid
have some fun. He's a rookie, he's hurt. I do
like the video from last night, though his hair was
all messed up. He just probably just woke up. I
just woke up and he just chugged that monster energy drink. Yeah,
(08:50):
Cam's Kataboo would be my guy. And like best and
worst movies all time for sports, Like I mean, Field
of Dreams comes to mind, like my favorite bass ball movie.
And then like there are some movies that were supposed
to be great and they turned out to be for
some people, it just stunk. I'm just gonna go straight
(09:12):
to the well of like, oh, this was always gonna
be hot garbage, and it certainly was hot garbage. I
have never seen a worse movie for the cast and
the concept than Caddy Shack. Too. It always comes up
every time we did this. It wasn't funny, and you
had some great people in that movie. Chevy Chase was
(09:32):
in it, Jackie Mason was in it. Who Randy Quaid
was in it. Cousin had so much potential, but it
was just rot and you just you can't touch the original.
Sometimes you just Daddy Shack was brilliant, But some movies
just don't like.
Speaker 9 (09:49):
They just don't make for a sequel, you know what
I mean, Like, Okay, we've told the story, let's end it.
Let's quit milking this cow for me, and this is
this is gonna be a hot take. I'm so sorry.
I'm not gonna say it's the It's just I don't.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Like this movie.
Speaker 9 (10:03):
He's a thunder no, okay, now close though, it's uh yeah,
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
I cannot stand Talladega Knights. Let me one up you here.
This might be sacrilege too. I have never seen Talladega
Knights good. I I wouldn't recommend it.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
I mean, it's got some quotable parts, but that whole
movie is hot garbage. It's trash. Yeah, trash. On the record, Uh,
there's a lot of stuff going on in the world
of sports. Obviously, you got a big game tonight. In
breaking news. By the way, c J. Stroud is out
again in this game. So it's the Neck Bowl again.
Speaker 13 (10:40):
It's the.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Neck above neck there, it's it's Davis Mills starting a
quarterback for Houston tonight. And what is a bit of
a must win for I would say both teams. I mean,
we're gonna do ceiling and floor later today, we're gonna
get to the AFC first and we're gonna make our
picks today. So well, by the way, Joe Dolan in
Fortyx about thirty minutes by forty five Fantasy Points dot
Com seven and three Buffalo right now, and you see
(11:07):
all the good breaks that New England's getting with their
schedule in that division. New England's got Cincinnati coming up,
but there is no Jamar Chase in that game. Maybe
there will be Burrow. But they're feeling the heat now
relative to what they've been feeling since Tom Brady left
the NFL. All of a sudden, they have what did
they get a three year break from the Patriots? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Maybe?
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Yeah? What about twenty nineteen is when it came to
a crash again for Belichick and Brady together, and Brady
left in twenty twenty, so it was your twenty twenty pandemic.
You're kind of a loss out, yeah, twenty one, twenty two, twenty,
so about a four year break really four seasons. I
think a lot of people thought once Brady left that
(11:51):
there was no chance New England was going to find
any sort of level of like like this, like they
had again for like a decade. That's usually how this goes.
You killed the man, not the idea. That was just yeah,
I've seen that. Well that you know, Tom Brady's out
there cloning everything he called himself, apparently with Drake May
(12:12):
that they unveiled the Tom Brady statue earlier this year,
and of course they unveiled Drake May for year two.
And now, all of a sudden what we thought was
going to be and it still could be another dominant
ten years or so for Josh Allen owning that division. Yeah,
this is the nature of the NFL. Now, all of
a sudden, you've got Mike Rabel back in New England.
(12:33):
You've got Drake May a great quarterback. You've got Will
Campbell a great offensive lineman. They're all very young. Rabel's
only fifty. Yeah, yeah, they're built for the long run. Again,
I mean this is he could coach the seventy like Belichian.
Yes he should. He could whip my ass at seventy.
I'm sure yes, And I think he's he's I don't know.
Him and Dan Campbell are like the two alpha mal
(12:55):
coaches out there. Yeah, I wonder if Dan's geting little
jealous that Rabel's stealing some of that shine.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Right now, I've got control, fury.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Yeah, let somebody to control that play sheet of yours,
that dinner menu. That play calling was bad the other night.
Let's head out to the Ingles hotline. Welcome into game on, Hello,
welcome in.
Speaker 10 (13:16):
How are y'all?
Speaker 1 (13:17):
Hey? He here we go? Well, well look look who
come out of the gopher hole. Welcome back the glory?
Speaker 10 (13:25):
Hop, I just want some glory.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
What's going on, big Daddy Brodie? What's happening? Man?
Speaker 10 (13:37):
You know, it's just it's just so hard now that
y'all have changed. Tom now that I used to be
walking into the gym. Now I'm walking out of the
gym when y'all start.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Now we're getting post work See you can hear it
in his voice. Yeah, yeah, it's the post workout. It's
can I get a clean cutter? You said? All right,
I'm about to walk out the gym right now?
Speaker 10 (13:59):
All right, I'm about to walk out of the gym
right now.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Cool, locked and loaded, save to the bank. It's it's
it's the happy hour or the low tea hour, right, I.
Speaker 10 (14:14):
Know the times it.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Get Yeah, yeah, the high let's pivot back to sports.
How how are you?
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Man?
Speaker 1 (14:24):
What's going on?
Speaker 7 (14:27):
Man?
Speaker 10 (14:27):
You know, just living the dream, living the dream, you know.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
Just.
Speaker 7 (14:32):
It's just hard.
Speaker 10 (14:34):
I just I just enjoy calling in when the Cowboys
are doing what they're doing.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, well, where are you with Dallas
right now? Yeah? Like, where are you with a weird year?
It's weird, it's they have.
Speaker 10 (14:49):
But let me, I was so glad to call you
because I just want to know if you're if you're
if you're a NFL team that you want to play
down right now?
Speaker 1 (15:01):
No, no, I wouldn't. No, this is where I thought
the Raiders would be going into like Thanksgiving. Yeah, that's
who I had, is like the ultimate middle of the
pack team. But they're emerging and they're surging right now.
There's a path they can get there that it would
take a lot down the stretch. But in terms of
like the enjoyment level, again, look all we talked about
(15:24):
and rightfully so. The first couple weeks of the season
was Micah Parsons, the depleted defense. Now they're getting healthy.
You know, Revel's back in the lineup, the kid from
East Carolina. He looks promising. You kicked Deron Bland back
into the slot. I think maybe Trevon Diggs will be
on the outs at some point next season. But boy,
you at Kenny Clark, you at Quinnon Williams, you got
(15:45):
Logan Wilson in the middle now, and with all that
happened with marshawn Eland, which was awful, I thought it
was a very good way to galvanize and respond. They
they played a dog crap team Monday night, make no
doubt about it. But that's what you do to bad teams.
They just obliterated him.
Speaker 10 (16:01):
I wouldn't exactly when you when you get when you
get uh feedbumps, you.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
See bumps, that's it, yes, right, yep, And you got
to show that.
Speaker 10 (16:13):
But one player you didn't mention was Overshown.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Dog to maryon Overshown, Yeah he's back too. Oh and
he's he's an energy. I love his game. He is
a spark plug. I remember him at Texas and you
know when he shot onto the scene, he was wearing
number thirteen for a while, if I'm not mistaken, and
he was just he's a fire plug out there. And
when he got hurt, that was his impactful as almost
(16:40):
anything to their defensive demise and then they got him
cooking again. Yeah, I think this game coming up. I mean,
you've got some games ahead that are compelling, starting with Philly.
There's nothing about what Philly's doing offensively that makes me
feel like, Okay, this game can't be at least competitive.
Maybe you steal the win because it's in your house now.
Speaker 10 (17:00):
Yeah, it's just so wild, dude. I've been a Cowboys
fan for so many years, and how every game seems
to be important. I don't know how the Cowboys do that.
Maybe Jared Jones is a genius.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Well he is that.
Speaker 10 (17:18):
He's something we can agree on that, But I mean,
it just seems like they're always we can always talk
about him, we can always talk about the Cowboys relevant.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
And it's the perfect Cowboys zone right now. Like all year,
they've been the quintessential five hundred team. Yep, but with
a lot of pizzazz. The offense knows how to cook.
That was a weird game.
Speaker 10 (17:40):
You just said the best word tozz That's what they are.
Unless they unless they show me something other than pezzazz,
I'm done.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Well that the way they lost Arizona on Monday night
was sort of defeating and then they lost to Denver
the week before. They stabilized things with that huge one
over the Commanders. But this is this will be a
good barometer now against Philly. Then you got a short week.
You're hosting Thanksgiving like you always do again because I
asked Happy Turkey Day.
Speaker 10 (18:15):
Against the Chiefs, who cannot lose a game either. The
way it lines up, it's like, I don't it seems
like a movie producer is doing this. Well, hey here
every game I means, yeah, I.
Speaker 6 (18:37):
You know.
Speaker 10 (18:37):
I mean, it's just it's just unreal. It don't make sense.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
No, it don't know.
Speaker 10 (18:47):
The NFL's rigg.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
I mean, look with the officiating this year. Well, oh
they gotta get they're gonna start getting transparent about that thing.
Speaker 10 (18:57):
Because John, oh, no me throwing him under the bus.
Now your insider, don't be just throwing him under.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
The bus now outsider quickly, Yeah, inside and the outsider
all the workout, broddy.
Speaker 10 (19:28):
Well, I'm gonna say so now, I ain't gonna say
I'm about to pay because I know it's not if
they don't say it. Trying to get my first Yeah, yeah,
we're good, we're good.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
What else is on you behind Brodie, that's clean.
Speaker 10 (19:48):
Uh yeah, well and this is not clean but kind
of clean. I'm okay with Bill Belichick's first year at
chap Will.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
Yeah, yeah, okay.
Speaker 10 (20:01):
I feel pretty good about it. I know, I know
a lot of people have got a lot of black
on it. And he just went to his girlfriend cheerlead
and yes.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
He did do that. Bizarre. You see the picture of him,
how angry he looked. He looked like Jeff Dunham's puppet.
He looks so mad. What the hell's that? Walter Belichick,
he looked I thought dune him at his hand up
(20:32):
his glory hole. He looked like a man who did
not want to be there. And then you see the
video of Jordan Hudson's performance and the music, the music,
awful music, and he's like, please can we go home?
Please go back to Boston.
Speaker 10 (20:50):
Let me tell you something. I'm I'm a diehard cowboy,
but I love Chapel Hill. Also, as soon as I
heard that music, I flipped off of it. As soon
as I heard what they were doing not for me,
well for me, and I love everything they're trying to do,
(21:10):
but I ain't gonna do that.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Yeah, I'd give it some time, like, yeah, everybody's got
a pile on Bill, and we piled on him in
a funny way this year. But in reality, look, this
is such a weird college football landscape. Let's give it
two years or so see how it goes a lot
of movement. James Franklin's in Virginia Tech. Now Dad was
trying to reboot things down there at Clemson.
Speaker 10 (21:30):
James Franklin move is big. Yeah, that's a that's a
big move.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
People.
Speaker 10 (21:37):
People are underestimating that. That's a big move.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
That's huge. And it was quick, it was concise. You know,
I'd see it on McAfee. Were Bruce Arians, who was
a Virginia Tech guy, was a part of the you know,
the committee to look for a new coach. And I
think you know guys like that that are the forefront,
they make quick decisions. And you know, he's a regional guy,
he's from that area. He's recruited well in that region.
And they had a home run there, they really did.
Speaker 10 (22:02):
And on top of that, what about those boys he
recruited to Penn State. You don't think some of those
guys will leave.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
And go to that school.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
There's already reports that a couple are yes. Some of
the guys that were committing to Penn State are like, man,
I'll take virgin text money, thank you very much. Yeah, absolutely, And.
Speaker 10 (22:19):
Ils made everything different. Man, It's made everything so different.
Even a even a seventy four year old with a
twenty four year old girlfriend cheerleader can make a team.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
I just can't wait.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
You just wait.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
There'll be some labor law put in. He's the greatest girlfriend.
Want to know you can't.
Speaker 10 (22:42):
Today today, earlier today on another show from the Fox, Dude,
there was everybody was giving Bill hell and one guy
was like, why are y'all being so mad?
Speaker 7 (22:53):
Man?
Speaker 10 (22:53):
Let his girls stay in shape? Good for her, good
for him for.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
You know what a minute, God bless to jump on it.
Speaker 10 (23:03):
But hey, let's go, dude, let's go. Man. If we
keep bringing with the hill, I don't care if his girlfriend.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Do whatever you want. Put a headset on her like Carly,
your say to doing that, pump the brakes.
Speaker 10 (23:20):
His son's already batter.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
Might get upgrade. Somebody said his son was beside her
at the Bits competition, like Steve Fellow, check the guide
beside her. That's why he looks so mad. Ill have
I done wrong?
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Here.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
What what parallel universe have I landed in? I was
winning Super bowls Now I'm in Raleigh at an adult
sheer competition and my son and my girlfriend.
Speaker 10 (23:51):
Those pictures of him look miserable.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Oh yeah, yeah, you look like all right, Brodie man,
it's good to hear you voice boy.
Speaker 10 (24:02):
Ali Man, I'm gonna talk shortly, all right.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Yeah, man, we're right here. Every single day. You know
where to find us. The happy hour is always there
is a very happy Brody. Brody's feeling that post workout vibe. Man,
Brody scataboo. There was a scataboo gronk vibe to Brody's
(24:26):
call today.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
There was.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Yeah, he was a happy man, and he's got a
good young family he's raising right now. Man, God bless
all of them down there. Uh, he's and Anderson boy, right,
I think so. I don't know he was down there
in that neck of the woods that maybe I don't
think so and called so long. I don't remember. Anyways,
you guys can call us as well. Two four zero
five four eight zero Big Questions of the Day, The
worst and best sports movies of all time. And we
(24:50):
also have Joe Dolan coming up at five forty five.
So let's hit a quick break come back and get
set for that here on Game one. Oh, we're having
a good time today on a football Thursday. That's Brody
chime in in earlier. Uh, just walking out of the gym.
(25:10):
He was walking in the gym earlier and he's uh
be leaving the gym with a lot of energy. Man,
he brought the heat the same at two four zero
fifty four eighty is the number. We do have a
guest coming up in about fifteen minutes. It's Joe Dolan
Fantasy Points dot Com. So let's fire up the band
and get some picks done. Yeah. Oh, for Week twelve
in the National Football League, it's a Thursday tradition here
(25:32):
on Game on because tonight you got a big game
with playoff implications for both teams.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
All of a sudden, the Buffalo Bills are trying to
keep pace with this nine win Drake may led Patriots team.
But standing in the way is not just Davis Mills,
who's two to zero as the starter right now in
place of the injured CJ. Stround, But this defense has
been lights out. The game is in Houston tonight, Kirk
Kirk Street. Now, Michael's on Prime Video, Trey, who you got?
(25:59):
Buffalo's a five and a half point favorite, but we're
picking him straight up.
Speaker 9 (26:02):
Here, give me Houston in an upset because I know
Chad's gonna take Josh Allen and the Bills, and I've
got to make crown boy.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
I want to lean that direction so bad right now
because I think you know, with Keon Coleman still sitting
out of this game, Buffalo has some injuries on both
sides of the ball. Their defense has been rough in
terms of the run defense in particular. You know what,
gimme Houston. Okay, give me Houston in an upset tonight.
I'm with you. We need to make up ground on chance.
(26:31):
I do think their defense will kind of do what
Atlanta's defense did to Josh Allen a few weeks ago
on a night game on the road. I just have
a feeling about this one. I'd like Demko Ryans in
this game and their defense. All Right, Sunday, here we
go a monster game for your Steelers where Aaron Rodgers
continues to push his way into the lineup. He does.
(26:52):
Do you think he's gonna play?
Speaker 10 (26:53):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (26:56):
I don't even know if it matters. Yeah, I feel
like Tomlin would probably start him.
Speaker 9 (27:01):
Yeah, I think the mayor of Chicago needs to step
down from the podium and let Mason Rudolph step up.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Guide my slagh tonight, please, it's in Chicago, Tray, I'm
gonna go with the.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
Oh Man.
Speaker 6 (27:15):
This is tough.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
HEAs Caleb and all those guys. But the Steelers defense
I think has been better in terms of generating pass
rush stopping the run. Give me the Steelers on the road.
I like the Steelers a couple of dogs already. It's
only a two and a half point spread. It's straight
up Steelers in Chicago to beat the Bears. Bears have
been winning a lot of close games lately. Gim me
Pittsburgh in a bit of an upset here.
Speaker 9 (27:35):
Yeah, it's I can't pick against Pittsburgh. However, let me
say this, if Darius Slacy's the field, Chicago is gonna win,
they need to put they need to start James Pierre
dude put the clamps on Jamar Chase n T Higgins
and he was rewarded with, Hey, Darius Slay's back, So
you get you're gonna go with Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
You can't even say the words. I'm going with Pittsburgh
because your typical Yinzer are reluctant. I can see it happening.
I could see it happening. Bowl All right, here we go,
Patriots nine to two, They're at Cincinnati. Burrow may play
in this game, y'all. We're going to assume that he might,
that he could, that he will. I don't think it
makes a huge difference. I think New England's defense will
(28:14):
clamp down with no Jamar Chase in this game. It's
a route awakening kind of invite back into the rotation.
I'm still not convinced he's gonna play. Talking about Burrow. Here,
give me the Patriots on the road. They've been very
good on the road this year. To win this game. Yeah,
give me the Patriots are SmackDown on the Bungles. Do
you turn the taco to you for you? Well, Cam
(28:35):
Scattaba will be on the sideline again this week. This
is an entertaining game with a lot of cast of
characters involved. It's Detroit with Dan Campbell at home.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
Well, I got pure octane right now. I woke up.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
I'm ready a ten point favorite against the Giants. Jamis
Winston the presumed starter once again. In this game, the
Giants do generate pressure. I'll say that if Jared Goff
has had a home our time dealing with that. That said,
I think the Lions win this game. Get back on track.
Speaker 9 (29:04):
You have meme where the guy's trying to pick between
the two buttons. They's sweating really hard.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
That's how I feel right now because I'm looking at
a kid. Obviously camp'scataboy's not playing. But you got James Winston.
It's always funems like it could be a Winston. I
think I gonna go Giants. I'm gonna go get never
go against Dan Campbell.
Speaker 9 (29:19):
But I'm gonna go with the Giants because Winston has
some kind of weird magic.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
I'm just trying to go for you, for you, turning
the tables for you and the Giants. Here Vikings Packers.
Vikings are four and six right now. It's a must
win for them. Yeah, and look nine has turned into
none in terms of inspiration whatsoever. JJ McCarthy looking more
like Zach Wilson reincart it out there because the memes
(29:46):
would suggest, uh, the Packers don't inspire a lot of
confidence right now either. Josh Jacobs is out in this game. Yeah,
I'm gonna stay with the theme here, give me the
Vikings on the road in an upset special. I think
Brian Flores defense will give that offense that's been sputtering
of late some issues. I know they had a better
game last week against the Giants, but Green Bay's offense
(30:06):
is not something that I'm very afraid of, low scoring slugfest.
What the hell give me the Vikings on the road
to be the Packers.
Speaker 6 (30:13):
I don't care.
Speaker 9 (30:14):
Uh, that's guy, give me, give me the Packers. I
just I do not believe in JJ McCarthy nine. I
don't care what personality shows up. They're not winning this game.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Seahawks Titans. Seahawks are seven and three. Titans are one
to nine right now. I know I don't see it. Sorry, Seahawks.
Good we can agree with Seks. One more game. We'll
hit a break. Colts at Chiefs, Oh my goodness. This
is a must win for Kansas City. It is.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
I mean, like if you say that every week, but
this is the game they've got to win. It's in
their house. They've got guys back that are healthy. They
should have won the last couple of games it's been close, Margins,
I'm gonna take Kansas City at home. Listen out there, Jay,
I've got your Chiefs at home against the upstart Colts.
It's a road game for Indy. They've been battered in bruised,
(31:06):
but they keep on winning. I think they do everything.
Spags will take Taylor and neutralize them in this game
and make Danny Dimes Indiana Jones beat them. Something about
this game. I really like the Chiefs. They're a favorite
at home, by the way.
Speaker 9 (31:20):
Yeah, so I also saw, if I'm not mistaken, earlier
on ESPN, it looked like Danny Dimes was he's limited
or something.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Something's going Yeah, gaed up. What if he doesn't play,
then give me the Chiefs.
Speaker 9 (31:32):
I mean, I don't see Anthony Richardson stepping in doing
anything that's tam.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
For for real. If that happens, I would definitely say
Chiefs all the way. I want to go Chiefs because
I want to win that. I have got to catch
up to Chat.
Speaker 9 (31:45):
So I've got to take a flyer on the Indianapolis
Colts and hope that they win something.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
But I think the Chiefs win this one, all right,
one more game than would break Jets at Ravens. Baltimore's
more thirteen and a half point favuy. I don't see
a path here, Tyrod Taylor's back in the lineup. Yeah,
Lamar has been banged up a little bit this week.
I wouldn't read too much into that. They like to
sort of play around with those injury reports a little bit. Uh,
(32:09):
Derrick Henry been running wild lately. I'd like the Ravens
to get to six and five and keep knocking on
the door with those Steelers. Yeah, right there on their
heels there giving Baltimore. Yeah, and Baltimore all the way. Okay,
click the rest of these games after we catch up
with Joe Dolan in a few short minutes here. Joe
Dolan from Fantasy Points dot Com is gonna step in
with us and give us his perspective on the National
(32:29):
Football League and much much more. It's game on John
e Let's Trey Falco. We're back after the.
Speaker 5 (32:42):
Game on with John Alice, heard everywhere on the iHeartRadio WI.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
We're having a good time today, y'all. Let's say Football
Thursday one of my favorite days of the week. What
what's your favorite day of the week other than like
is it Friday or like Thursday is almost better than
Friday and away. It's like it is earing up of
the weekend. Especially during football season. Tuesdays just suck, like yeah,
Tuesdays are yeah, like to go home and there's no
football in those college games, I know, but no NFL football.
(33:29):
Even if it's a bad NFL football, it's something. Tonight
should be a good one. Houston and Buffalo no CJ. Strout,
It's gonna be the uh, the third straight week of
ticking your neck out. If you're Davis Mills, yeah, we'll
see if he can und up of the neck punts.
I'm running out one. Buffalo is a bit dubious right now.
We'll see if they can get a big road win
(33:51):
coming up tonight on Prime Video. Joining us now is
always it's our good friend from Fantasy Points dot Com.
Here he is. It's Joe Dolan.
Speaker 14 (33:58):
Joe.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
What's happening, babe?
Speaker 14 (34:00):
Hey guys, what's going on doing?
Speaker 10 (34:03):
Okay?
Speaker 14 (34:03):
Just trying to get my way through the NFL season.
The last week before Thanksgiving is always an exciting time.
Speaker 7 (34:10):
It is.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
It's a huge rush. There are a lot of great
storylines that a fascinating turn of events of course up
in Cincinnati. Let's start with that. I'm with you. I
saw your tweet earlier this week about Burrow ramping up
maybe to play Thanksgiving, but they are really pushing hard
to get him in the lineup this week against a
great Patriots team.
Speaker 14 (34:29):
Your thoughts on this, well, I mean, I am surprised
he's a full participant in practice. Joe Flatto is limited
because he's been dealing with that shoulder injury him and
Joe Burrow is a full parfisman. That means it looks
like he's going to play on Sunday. And I'm surprised
by that, just simply because I didn't think they bring
(34:51):
him back in week twelve and then have him out
there just four days later in week thirteen. But if
they're going to do that, that means they firmly believe
that he can and they are just hanging on the
absolute precipice of the playoffs. I mean, it's almost certain
that they're not going to make it, but if they're
going to have a chance, it is going to be
with Joe Burrow at quarterback. But I still don't think
(35:13):
that their defense is good enough to make it happen.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
No, I don't either. I know Jim R. Chase this
weekend because uh Haktua. You know, he decides to go
the Jalen carteriec and he's going to be on the
bench even more of a precarious situation for a Bengals
team that has no margin fer era for this season.
Look after the Panthers won another thriller on Sunday, the
first text I got Trey was from Joe Dolan. Oh really,
he said the following. What was I saying about Bryce Young?
(35:38):
What if he is the next Baker or Darnold and
the Panthers already have him? Again? It was an entertaining game.
It was a great response for Bryce, I thought, against
a really good pass defense on the road, with all
that's been going on this year.
Speaker 14 (35:52):
Oh, I thought it was fantastic.
Speaker 10 (35:53):
You know.
Speaker 14 (35:54):
He he's a guy who just sometimes he looks so
much more confident, so much better, and it really and
I really struggled to understand why sometimes that that's the
case with certain players. But I mean, you have to
look at the fact that Bryce Young that was only
the second game this season with two hundred or more
(36:15):
passing yards, which surprised me because tet Tyroam. McMillan's had
a really nice season. Obviously, zager Lee gets at his moments,
and now Jalen Koker's back. It's just it puts the
Panthers in a really interesting place with with Bryce Young,
because if he looks anywhere close to that, they have
no choice but to continue to roll with him next year.
(36:35):
And as we were talking about with Bryce, but who
are going He's going to be the reclamation quarterback off
this offseason? Do you want do you seriously want to
go from Bryce Young to Kyler Murray? No? No, No,
like Bryce Bryce Young. It's if there's anything that limited
that limit's Bryce.
Speaker 7 (36:53):
Young, it's his like yeah, and that's the same problem.
Speaker 14 (36:57):
For Kyler, except Kyler's had more injury equipment.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
I guess you could keep the same paths in Jersey size,
that's the only advantage to it. But I'm with you.
I don't see anybody in the market or even in
this draft class that appeals to me that much. And
I don't want to go to the draft again. I'm
tired of playing that game. Speaking of which, the Falcons,
you had touched on this on Twitter the other day. Man,
the next GM of this team. If they go that direction,
(37:23):
they got their work cut out, because now you've got
to mess with God bless them. Michael Pennox cannot stay
healthy and that was the calling card on him coming
into the draft. He's a pretty old second year quarterback
as it is, and they just look like a hot
mess with no first round pick coming up. Uh, talk
me into how to best rebuild this franchise because it's
a rough go.
Speaker 14 (37:46):
I mean, they've got to pray first of all. That's
number one. Here's the problem.
Speaker 7 (37:51):
Here's the problem.
Speaker 14 (37:53):
Not only is being a general manager and professional sports
guys about building your team a contention window, a window
to contend, it's also about identifying where that window is.
Speaker 7 (38:08):
And for some teams it's obvious.
Speaker 14 (38:10):
You know, Oh, the Patriots are like, well, guess what,
Drake may opened our window.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
And we are now one in that window.
Speaker 14 (38:19):
And now we can build for the future. But for
the Falcons, they completely botched what or when the window was.
You go out and you sign Kirk Cousins. Okay, if
you sign Kirk Cousins to the contract that he you
signed him to, that your assumption and what you're telling
your fan base is your contention window is right. Now,
(38:42):
why else do you go out and sign Kirk Cousins
when you could have had Jacoby Brissette, for instance, Then
you draft Michael Pennix because you're like, well, if Kirk
Cousins at the end of the career of Michael Penick,
has ben extend that window?
Speaker 7 (38:54):
All right.
Speaker 14 (38:55):
I hated that pick when they made it. I thought
that should have been one or the other. But all
find something a little bit different. The most egregious thing
is what they did this all season though, because the
only way you trade your twenty twenty six first round
pick is if your contention window is wide open.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Yep.
Speaker 14 (39:14):
And I don't think they got I don't think they
got the information they needed last year to say, man
our contention window. Holy Craft then came in at the
end of the year and he did some good things,
but he started like five games, and they completely misidentified
their window for contention. They didn't misidentify that their division's week,
(39:37):
it's a weak division, but nonetheless they completely misidentify their
window for contention. They misidentified the quarterback in free agency.
It looks like they misidentified the quarterback in the draft.
And while their two rookie edge rushers have shown flashes
like I'm not gonna sit here and tell you James
Pears is a bad player, but I cannot just the
audacity of them to make that move. It's just staggering
(40:01):
to me. The next general manager needs to have a
long leash because he's gonna need a lot of.
Speaker 7 (40:06):
Time to clean that up.
Speaker 3 (40:08):
Joe.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
A big matchup this Sunday with Pittsburgh and Chicago.
Speaker 9 (40:11):
You've got an unmovable or excuse me, an unstoppable force
meeting an immovable object. You've got the mayor of you know,
Chicago returning to the Windy City, and you got Pittsburgh
that I think hasn't won a game in Chicago since
ninety nine. What it was in your opinion? Do you
start Aaron Rodgers? I know he's gonna want to start.
Do you start Aaron Rodgers? Do you start Mason Rudolph
(40:33):
Because Aaron Rodgers has not looked great in the past
couple of games. He's hit this weird mid season stride
that it's he looks shaky in the pocket, He's not
going through his reeds.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
It just something looks it's almost like he's old.
Speaker 14 (40:45):
Yeah, exactly, I would say this is going to be
a game for the Steelers to run the football because
the Bears are getting healthier in the secondary, and the
Bears are really bagged up on the second level. They
have a lot of linebackers on the injury report and
the cut now. Of course, the problem is Jalen Warren
got hurt in the Steelers last game, but Kenny Gainwell
(41:07):
had a monster game, So they have somebody there in
Kenny Gainwell who could pick up the slack in the
event that that they want to run the football. If
Caleb Johnson has been a terrible, terrible rookie so far,
I'm not writing him off. You know, some guys you'll
take him a year, but they I think this is
a game for them to run the football. From a
fantasy football perspective, I want nothing to do with Aaron
(41:28):
Rodgers or Mason Rudolph. Dk Metcalf has been a ghost. Honestly.
Their most fun offensive player is Darnell Washington, who's out
there running people over each and every week. But it
has not been a pretty watch. From the offensive perspective,
the running backs are really the guys I'm most interested in.
Speaker 9 (41:44):
Yeah, Darnold Washington, By the way, listen it, but to
sixty five I think is that?
Speaker 1 (41:48):
Does that sound about accurate? Do you how much does
he weigh? Joe Let's get into.
Speaker 14 (41:53):
Next week, said on a podcast this week that he
weighs three hundred and eleven pounds.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
You know a lot of man, I'm starting to believe it.
The way he laid waste to three straight browns. Oh yeah,
he's a big Browns. Bingles doesn't matter at this point.
It's all Ohio, It's all garbage. It's a hot mess, yeah, Joe.
One final question. Do you think that Arthur Smith remembers
that he has running backs come Sunday?
Speaker 3 (42:18):
I would hope. So.
Speaker 14 (42:20):
Now, one of the problems we had with Arthur Arthur
Smith in New Orleans was ecume in Atlanta, was that
he always remembered.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
The wrong running back. Johnson game touches.
Speaker 14 (42:31):
Even Caleb Johnson hasn't been able to uh, hasn't been
able to.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
Crack the rotation.
Speaker 14 (42:38):
So even Arthur Smith hasn't put him into the backfield
to throw a wrench into things. But now this feeler
passing game has been it's best this year. A functional
passing game. It has not been that the last couple
of weeks and and Aaron Rodgers. Obviously, if that risk
is a problem, I wouldn't anticipate that being particular and explosive.
Speaker 7 (42:58):
In that game.
Speaker 1 (42:59):
No, I wouldn't neither, Joe. Final question for me here
the Kansas City Chiefs. They're five and five. Is it over, Johnny?
Or is there still a path for this team to
sneak in as a wild card or even a division champion?
At this point, where are you at with Kansas City?
In about sixty seconds or less?
Speaker 14 (43:16):
I am pretty much done on them as a division champion.
But they are going to be a dangerous wildcard team,
john They're going to be a very dangerous wildcard team.
I like they've just had some They've had great luck
in the past in one score games. Every one score
game has done against them this year. I still think
they're going to make the playoffs. And that is a
team that like the New England Patriots hoping the playoff game,
(43:37):
are not going to want to see, the Jacksonville Jaguars
hosting a playoff game are not going to want to see,
or the Indianapolis Polls. Whoever wins that division. I'm going
to project they're going to knock off one of the
top seeds in the AFC in the wildcard weekend.
Speaker 1 (43:49):
I like it frisky. Thirty seconds here, Joe, who do
you like tonight?
Speaker 13 (43:52):
And why.
Speaker 14 (43:54):
I like the Bills to win in the Texans to
cover because and I'm going to tell you why I
like to build the Exs to cover because the Bills
absolutely screwed me against Miami a few weeks ago in
my Survivor Boar.
Speaker 1 (44:06):
There you go, love it. I love the personal venom there, Joe,
let us know where we can find all the work.
Speaker 10 (44:11):
Man.
Speaker 1 (44:11):
You're doing a great job out there.
Speaker 14 (44:14):
Fantasy points dot Com guys and Fantasy Points on YouTube.

Speaker 1 (44:24):
I'm heading there right now. I need help. That's desperate
for help right now, Joe. It's always a pleasure, man,
be good manager.
Speaker 10 (44:30):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (44:30):
Because Joe Dolan Fantasy points dot Com always coming in
hot with some laughs and some great analysis. I think
he's exactly right about a few of these teams, especially Atlanta.
Like you get to thinking about, oh man, what they've done.
It's got to feel hopeless. Well, and Carolina has been
in that boat before, where you have a declining team.
You have some good young pieces, but the coaching situations weird.
(44:53):
The GM situation's weird, and you have no security to
lean on. In a first round pick, right, it feels
empty because at least when you suck, you get to
go to Tankathon, all right something. Yeah, you start looking
at where you're in the draft, like, okay, well we suck,
but at least we're a top five. No, that pick
belongs to, of all teams, the Rams, because they know
(45:16):
how to operate and Atlanta doesn't. Right now, Atlanta fighting
for their playoff lives. We'll talk more NFL when we
get to the other side. Here, it's game on with
John and Trey Act for sure. Stadium isn't even nickname
(45:41):
for the city. You can pay him out at Barston.
What have you got hit by trail again? I'm not
taking CJ over the homes. Let me tell you about
Sam darl You could have him right now for a
bag of peanut him and it's Philly. I'm just a
dumb sports talker, but I love to.
Speaker 7 (45:58):
Starting up John.
Speaker 1 (45:59):
Oh yeah, baby, the weight is over.
Speaker 3 (46:03):
I got pure Rocktan right now, I woke up.
Speaker 5 (46:04):
I'm ready finally something to argue about. That isn't your
coworkers fantasy trade proposal or Bryce Young's height. It's game
on with John Ellis and trade poly Walnuts Falco with
wall to wall NFL action all season long. I am
the new from first snap to final whistle, rookies, revenge
(46:25):
games and questionable calls and absolutely zero patients for.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
Your power rankings.
Speaker 5 (46:30):
Yeah, brought to you by Ingles Low Prices Love the
savings hit. The phone line said two four zero fifty
four eighty. Let's talk some football. Here's John Elice.
Speaker 1 (46:42):
Oh my goodness, I'm just gonna call this the Scataboo Hours. Yeah.
Oh it's crazy. Look at me the taco. Oh yeah,
told you turns Sideway lowly unearthed video from Camps Scataboo
stream where his hair is a skew. Must be two
in the morning, and there it is. There's a taco.
Listen to the scream is made for Madison Avenue. He's
(47:10):
in the right city. He certainly is. You're mute the
rest of the time. I don't know what happens after that.
It's the only clean thing on that video. That's the
video where Cam's Kataboo last night the live stream was
seen drinking a monster energy out of his U shoe cleat. Yeah,
oh yeah, not a thing wrong with him at all.
Please keep doing what you're doing. Yes, let's tee up
(47:32):
the big question of the day. It's brought to you
by Ingles Market, the low Prices, low meal sades, best
and worst sports movies you've ever seen, the best and
the worst. And if you could make a thirty for
thirty documentary on any current athlete right now, who would
it be? Cam'scataboo? Two four zero five four eight zero
is the number. We've got some interesting stats here from
(47:52):
our friends at PFF about the gravity of what's happening
this week with some of these playoff contenders. Got somebody
on ho here, just stick tight. I want to get
this out to you guys right now. Really fascinating numbers here.
So the teams with the most at stake this week.
If the Texans win tonight, their playoff probability goes to
(48:13):
fifty five percent. Okay, it's pretty reasonable for a team
that started the way they did. They lose tonight, it
falls down to twenty three percent. Again, This is all
according to analytics from our friends at PFF. The Chiefs,
if they happen to win this week, which I've already
picked them to do against the Colts in an upset,
their playoff possibilities jump to sixty eight percent. They lose,
(48:35):
you're down to thirty three percent at that point. Wow,
that's a big tumble. That's why so many of these
games are so vital. Sticking in the AFC. You're your guy,
Duval oh d. There's a reason we hadn't put that
in a sound bank. He hates this guy. Yeah, yeah,
it's so. Liam Cohen, the coach of the Jags, if
his team wins this Sunday, they now have a seventy
seven percent chance at that point to make the playoffs,
(48:57):
which is amazing considering how unstable been all year. And
they lose, they're still at forty eight percent, so still
not bad. They're in a good position right now. The Packers,
they win this week, eighty three percent goes their chances
to make the playoffs. Even with a loss, theyre at
fifty four percent. The Bears have a lot at stake.
They're up to sixty nine percent if they win this
(49:17):
game against the Steelers. Yep. If they lose, they're still
hovering at forty percent. And for the Panthers maybe the
widest disparity of all. That's why this game on Monday
and is so big against San Francisco. If they win
this game, they have a forty five percent chance to
make the playoffs down the home stretch. If they lose,
it falls to seventeen percent. That's a that's pretty good though.
(49:38):
Forty five percent win, I mean, that's still that's in there,
and seventeen doesn't eliminate you. I've seen teams in that
same metric range with about five games to go make
a run. It's just their schedule is so hard down
the stretch. Yeah, you got to match up with Seattle
down the stretch, you got the Rams coming up, and
you got two out of the last three against Tampa.
Oh wow, Okay, I hate that either way, playing the
(50:01):
same team twice in three weeks. I know the Steelers
have done that before. I think last season or was
it the Ravens.
Speaker 9 (50:07):
It was, Uh, it was the well so all that
all of our division games last year were stacked up
in the last like eight weeks.
Speaker 1 (50:14):
Eight When they do that, because some teams don't do that. Yeah, anyway,
those are a quick look at the playoff odds right
now for some of the wild card contenders at the moment,
Big game tonight, Bill's Texans eight fifteen. We have picked
the Texans to win this game. Let's go to the Engles, Hotbine,
welcome into game.
Speaker 7 (50:31):
On make Cad.
Speaker 6 (50:34):
Well, my man, what's.
Speaker 1 (50:38):
The vending machine? Gam what's good? Brother?
Speaker 10 (50:42):
Oh man?
Speaker 8 (50:43):
We love a lot trying to get to the high
house in the snack.
Speaker 1 (50:49):
That's always it's always a struggle on the roads, man,
it always is a struggle.
Speaker 8 (50:54):
It is gonna him in on the question the other day.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
Let's hear it.
Speaker 8 (51:00):
Man, Actually I got three favor movie man florts movies. Man,
we're gonna go with Days of Thunder, of course. Yeah,
and uh over the Top.
Speaker 2 (51:13):
You remember that one over the Top.
Speaker 8 (51:17):
You remember the Wall Semester Soul is the arm Wrestler.
Speaker 1 (51:21):
Oh my god, I've seen this, Yes, it's.
Speaker 8 (51:23):
The whole movie.
Speaker 1 (51:25):
There we go, the arm wrestling with Sylvester Stallone.
Speaker 10 (51:28):
Yes, mister man, but I liked it.
Speaker 1 (51:32):
Man, that looks like a Robert.
Speaker 4 (51:38):
Man.
Speaker 8 (51:38):
Okady shack Man, you can't be Caddy. That movie is
freaking hilarious.
Speaker 1 (51:43):
It's a great movie, not as not as good as
Caddy Shack too.
Speaker 8 (51:49):
The swimming pool absolutely the best part.
Speaker 1 (51:51):
Man. I was gonna say, it resonates with you and
you're the vending king, right, that's right. They're still selling
baby roosting those mending machines.
Speaker 8 (52:02):
I sail, remember once in a while they go on sail.
But man, they're not no big head.
Speaker 2 (52:06):
They're kind of.
Speaker 8 (52:07):
Hitting missing places. They will sell, you know, they all right,
they're not selling like a sticker bar resy cup or
peanut M and M.
Speaker 1 (52:15):
Well, look, we're making our picks a little bit throughout
the show here today. Who you got tonight does give
us a little tease here he gets the Bills and Texans.
No CJ strout tonight.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
It's in Houston, Oh man, he ain't gonna be Josh Allens.
Speaker 4 (52:31):
Yes, too good.
Speaker 1 (52:35):
We've seen how you're about twenty games ahead of both
of us here. We both picked the Texans. We're just
trying to make up ground here, we're trying to catch
up with you.
Speaker 8 (52:43):
Man, Oh I got a little bit twenty one ahead
of y'all.
Speaker 1 (52:45):
Tomorrow walk in, But you gonna limp out.
Speaker 15 (52:55):
Man about my man, Brody calling in.
Speaker 8 (52:59):
Dude's too, man, I ain't heard him in a month.
Speaker 1 (53:02):
Breathing good. He just got done with his workout. Yeah,
that's it. With the time change in our shows here
with Richie on from uh up until five now, it's
a weird dynamic in terms of catching us at the
right time for some people. Brody used to be a
four o'clock guy. He called in before the gym. It
was good to hear the post workout. Brody's a different five,
(53:23):
a little more loose, a little more candid. Yeah, yeah,
that's a finger on the dump button.
Speaker 8 (53:30):
Am I'm glad he's doing good.
Speaker 1 (53:32):
Yeah, man, he's Oh we had man. No, he's doing good, man,
he's And you're doing good man. Panthers here in a.
Speaker 4 (53:42):
Few weeks too.
Speaker 8 (53:43):
I didn't hear him say, but yeah, yeah he's getting yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think it'll don't take it tonight for sure.
Speaker 1 (53:54):
Noted, Hey brace young practice today, Happy.
Speaker 8 (53:58):
Birthday and old damo man there go, I see the
Home of Socials that he's got a birthday today.
Speaker 1 (54:04):
Devil is a year older today. Yes, he he's celebrated birthday.
I don't even know how old he is. Let's all
guests together. How old is Devil for forty nine? Forty wow,
look at you, he.
Speaker 14 (54:16):
Looks him around three.
Speaker 1 (54:18):
I'm gonna say fifty eight. Dang, all right, he's fifty
six six years old. That's right, fifty six looking good
for fifty six secs getting it done. Still the six
that's all the winning, that's right. Another year like this,
he little like front.
Speaker 8 (54:36):
Craft, that winning, big money he's making. Yeah, to look
pretty good.
Speaker 1 (54:44):
Your secret will let me show him a bank to honey.
Devil's good people, man, he's he's been here for a while.
I mean, it's hard to believe it's been damn twenty eight. Yeah,
two thousand and eight, almost twenty years now.
Speaker 8 (55:00):
Yeah, I hope there's wan any more. Let's be crazy
to get rid of it.
Speaker 10 (55:05):
Man.
Speaker 8 (55:05):
He's an awesome good Yeah, look to play argue Howard
back to day.
Speaker 1 (55:11):
But yeah, but.
Speaker 8 (55:15):
More that program than.
Speaker 4 (55:16):
Any of this.
Speaker 1 (55:18):
On a general scale. That's how I feel like we
can nitpick what's happened this year in Portal n I
l all his views that led up to this, but no,
he's built a championship caliber contender. The facilities are second
to none. Yeah, you don't go swimming in those waters
unless you're sure that you can do better. And I'm
not sure they feel like they can do better than
(55:40):
what they've got right now. I think they'd be pretty
foolish to think that.
Speaker 4 (55:42):
Yet.
Speaker 8 (55:44):
Yeah, I don't see you can get to replace him.
Speaker 1 (55:49):
A lot of dynamics. Wayne Kiffing out there milking everybody
right now, every single every single every penny out there.
He's just like and he should. He should. It's a
multi million dollar institution. All of these institutions and the
whole college football landscape is not just limited to the
(56:10):
players capitalizing. You know, the coach should be out there
trying to make every dime he can on this good
for him.
Speaker 10 (56:17):
I guess somebody, you know, I just thought about this.
Speaker 8 (56:19):
I guess some of the denile players. Can some of
the players been making more.
Speaker 4 (56:24):
Than the US.
Speaker 1 (56:27):
Maybe some NFL coaches well yeah, okay, no doubt, no.
I mean, I don't know if there's a program where
the college coach makes less than one of his players.
Like you have to look at the scale of it,
Like the lower down you go in you know Division
one A or FBS as they call it, down get
down to like one hundred and twentieth best team. That
(56:49):
coach is probably not making a whole lot, but yet
they don't have the budget to pay out a whole
lot either, right, I don't. I don't see any player
right now making as much as their coach. But maybe
there's a rare instance. I'm not the ben il expert
around here, but we can dive into it. It's it
would be extremely odd if that was happening.
Speaker 8 (57:06):
Yeah, no doubt. Yeah, let's picks the cat. Where you
got me on the phone man?
Speaker 1 (57:12):
All right, let's do it. Come on it, back up,
invite yourself into it. Damn waiting on you to say something.
All right, here we go back after it.
Speaker 3 (57:23):
Here.
Speaker 1 (57:23):
We got a big week of games coming up in
the National Football League, and we've touched on some of
these already. Chad, just for the record, tonight, who do
you got again? You got Buffalo?
Speaker 3 (57:33):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (57:34):
There, give it in Bill.
Speaker 1 (57:35):
All right, let's move on to the Sunday slate once again.
Trey and I have already picked this game. We got
the Steelers against the Bears. We both took Pittsburgh. Who
you got is Chicago in Winni City in Chicago, And
we don't know if Mason Rudolph's going to play. We
don't know if Aaron Rodgers is going to play.
Speaker 8 (57:56):
Uh Caleb will Oh, he's good that I've heard.
Speaker 3 (58:02):
Ba bird Damn. All right, here we go.
Speaker 1 (58:06):
We're not gonna tell you who we picked. Patriots at Bengals.
Joe Burrow looks like he's gonna try to play in
this game. No Jamar Chase. This game is in Cincinnati.
Speaker 8 (58:18):
Uh, Burrows still got dust on them. I'm gonna have
to knock at off for you.
Speaker 2 (58:22):
Any good?
Speaker 10 (58:22):
U give the Patriots all right?
Speaker 1 (58:25):
Giants at Lions. Giants will be starting Jamis Winston again.
It looks like the Lions coming off a tough loss
against uh, the Eagles last week, and this is in Detroit.
Giants at Lions.
Speaker 8 (58:40):
In Detroit. Give me a Lions man.
Speaker 2 (58:42):
I'll take a van gamble and the.
Speaker 1 (58:44):
Boy can will miss around. Vikings at Packers. Falco and
I have already picked this one. Vikings are four and six,
desperate need of a win. Packers coming off come from
behind when last week against the Giants. They're at home.
No Josh Jacobs in this game, Packers hosting Vikings.
Speaker 8 (59:02):
Yeah, give me the Packers on that one.
Speaker 1 (59:05):
Seahawks Titans in Tennessee.
Speaker 8 (59:11):
Ooh, give a Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (59:14):
Okay, they're intrigued by a garbage match. Yeah, here we go.
That's the I lead the Kicks by twenty eight. Pick whatever, Yeah,
make fun of me. Turn the taco for you, Joe.
Speaker 10 (59:33):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
The Colts are eight and two. Danny Dimes is a
little banged up right now. They're at the Chiefs Chiefs
must win situation for Kansas City Colts at Chiefs, who
you got?
Speaker 7 (59:44):
Thank you?
Speaker 8 (59:46):
And they're playing at Airhead. The Chiefs done got me
a couple of times when I pick against, will give
me my holes and the Chiefs man, it's hard to
pick against.
Speaker 1 (59:54):
All right, dually noted, Uh, Jets at Ravens Lamar has
been a little banged up.
Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
But it's the Jets, Oh not the dead. Give me
the Ravens assume.
Speaker 1 (01:00:08):
All right, now, let's pick the games that we haven't
picked yet together, So Falco, I'll turn to you here.
I don't care. Door Sanders makes his first career start
against the Raiders. You gotta care chair enough to at
least make it. But has Adam ranked it at NFL?
Don't go be Cleveland In the blowout seven to three.
(01:00:31):
Somebody picked two to two pickups. Uh, I go Raiders
here by a tuddy at home.
Speaker 8 (01:00:40):
Yeah no, not the Raiders, man.
Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
Yeah, so you got Sdor Sanders winning his first start.
Speaker 10 (01:00:53):
Yeah, gave me Cleveland, right, all right, I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
Know, thumbroch crap last week, man, I'll pick them and
they they got me last week them again. Although Miles
Garrett's been on a tear. I mean it's a sad
circumstance when he's getting that many sacks and they never
have a lead and they matter. Now, Yes, it is crazy,
it's crazy. All right. Here we go Boys Jacksonville du
(01:01:17):
vall Arizona six, six and four. They're at Arizona, a
pesky Cardinals team with Jacoby Brissett throwing the ball about
eighty times a game. That's not a recipe against Jacksonville.
I like they rushed the passer. Well, give me Jacksonville
on the road, Falcon.
Speaker 9 (01:01:33):
Give me Arizona with Jacoby Brissette breaking the record again
with fifty nine passes.
Speaker 1 (01:01:38):
All right, who we got Jacksonville at Arizona.
Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
Give me them Jaguarars, Maam Eagles.
Speaker 1 (01:01:46):
Cowboys a sneaky good game here, Cowboys coming off a
big win Monday night. They're four or five and won.
The Eagles just keep winning. They don't make excuses. There's
a little bit of controversy about aj Brown and Jalen
Hurts and the vibes out there. Dallas is at home.
I do want to pick them so bad because I
think they can beat Philly, but just not yet. I
(01:02:07):
think I'm gonna start with Nick Seern and that defense
for Philly. I think they're gonna neutralize trade what Dallas
does best right now, which is run the ballplay action.
Speaker 9 (01:02:15):
I'm choosing to believe in Billy and Rich and their
magic earlier and they were talking about.
Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
It, believing in the Cowboys again. Give me the Dallas
Cowboys to win over the Phillydem glory some brief thanksgiving glory.
I won't make someon Gloryhill, turkey Hole. You turn the.
Speaker 10 (01:02:33):
Story here, man gives well.
Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
I don't believe in you, Chad. But let's move on
to the Falcons and Saints. Falcons at Saints, The Falcons
at Saints. Oof is right? Uh, Tyler Shuck versus Kirk Cousins.
This is where we are, folks. Give me give me
the Saints at home. Give me the Saints at home,
because they look frisky against Carolina a couple of weeks ago.
(01:02:57):
Falcons just seem like they've checked out a little bit.
The head coaches in a terrible hot seat. Right now,
give me the New Orleans Saints.
Speaker 9 (01:03:07):
I'm inclined to agree. I just I don't know, man,
Atlanta's looking rough, which I know. I know New Orleans
has looked rough all season, but I don't know. It
might be over for Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
We got Chadwick.
Speaker 8 (01:03:20):
Hello, this is the battle for fourth place in the division.
The man, give me the.
Speaker 4 (01:03:25):
Safe all right.
Speaker 1 (01:03:27):
This is a big one, especially if you're an NFC
South fan. Buccaneers six and four, still no Bucky Irving
Baker's still healthy. The Rams coming in hot at eight
and two right now, Chad?
Speaker 8 (01:03:39):
Who you got, man, Just because I need them Bucks
to lose so the bat lews games to the head
of them in the end of the division. Give me
them Rams, Ram Bill Ram Tough.
Speaker 1 (01:03:52):
Who you got from changes? No, I'm still going with
the Rams. I want this one. I think the Rams
are gonna win.
Speaker 9 (01:03:56):
I was gonna pick the Bucks to go against Chad
and gonna win, but it's not gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
Give me the Rams at home Sunday night game. Stafford's
gonna throw for five tutties in this game, five toodies,
not one, not two, Five toutties in this game?
Speaker 4 (01:04:09):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
And then Monday night, Chad, do I need to even
ask Carolina coming in as a seven point underdog in
San Francisco? Who you got?
Speaker 4 (01:04:22):
Give me?
Speaker 8 (01:04:22):
Damn Carolina?
Speaker 15 (01:04:24):
Bathroom down?
Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
Two tudies, AMC.
Speaker 8 (01:04:31):
I'm sorry, I got it back. I don't forgot how thay?
Speaker 1 (01:04:38):
What'd you call him?
Speaker 8 (01:04:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
Get off the road, man, all right?
Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
You Paul? Who you got?
Speaker 1 (01:04:48):
Give me and him? Carolina Panthers by a couple of points.
No tuddies, give me Carolina on the road. I'm gonna
write that hot hand. It's a tough environment, it's a
tough road trip. But no Bosa in the lineup, No
Fred Warner. Let Rico run baby Rico against McCaffrey. I
(01:05:10):
think this is a week where Bryce can carry over
some momentum. Carolina gets a win on the road.
Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
Oh, Chad, we done did another week of picks, baby,
I like it.
Speaker 8 (01:05:21):
I'm confident online this week. I think we're gonna do
what we did last week. Maybe just lose two or three.
Speaker 1 (01:05:27):
All right, we got to hit a brick. Brother, be
safe out there.
Speaker 8 (01:05:31):
Well the big cat little bit tuned in for the
rest of the round.
Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
I know what, We'll be right here with you. There
is Chad the Vine Machine King. Look who just popped
in our studio. Oh look at this celebrity right here.
Speaker 3 (01:05:41):
Man guy.
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
He's probably up all night watching them CMA Awards and
he's getting ready for a big week ahead. It's just Jeff.
What's going home, big daddy. I'm miss seeing you out
there on the roads.
Speaker 16 (01:05:54):

the green flight to drop on our short tracks.
Speaker 6 (01:06:00):

the off season, so trying to get.
Speaker 16 (01:06:06):
Everything ready to get things started. Waving a green flag.
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):

David was actually racing this Saturday. Done it really? Do
you guys want to go down and check it out.
He'll be there for the Charlie. It's not Charlie Miles,
that's at Lavonna.
Speaker 16 (01:06:27):
It's the Charlie Powell Memorial Raised done at Florence, so
he'll be in action down there.
Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
Good stuff. Hey, quick update on a serious note for
those that are interested in the Yellows and Bradley Turkey Fry,
there's been announcement today.
Speaker 16 (01:06:38):
Why don't you kid been watching the weather and of

we have decided to move the Turkey Fry to Monday.
Speaker 6 (01:06:50):
All right, And I heard today.
Speaker 16 (01:06:52):
Originally your dad told me John that when the Turkey
Fries started it was on Monday. I think they have
bad weather and they moved it to Tuesday, and that's
been Tuesday ever since. Now we're going back to the
roots of the Turkey Fries Monday.
Speaker 1 (01:07:07):

to see Ethan. I talked with him earlier.
Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
Well, it's funny why you sing that when we come
back from break we may have Ethan on the right.
We might. Now let's hit a break, we'll come back.
More game on efabys.

Speaker 7 (01:08:52):
And that be game.
Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
Oh we had a good time here football Thursday, wrapping
this week up in a hurry. Here we got Gangcock
basketball on tomorrow, I think before our show, before our show. Yeah,
so rate into it. Rich will be off tomorrow, and
then we'll be here for you after the uh gag
Coox basketball game wraps up and Game On will be
trucking on for a Friday night edition, and then we'll
get you into the weekend with some with some great
(01:09:47):
games coming up college football, some good matchups there. But
the big story here is the NFL. Obviously a big
game tonight, a lot of big games this weekend. Let's
go to the Engles hotline, Rocky, what's going on?
Speaker 7 (01:09:58):
Brother and fellas you doing?
Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
Man?
Speaker 7 (01:10:02):
I'm doing well week here. I got it before I
started with this column. I've got to tell you whoever
is in charge of your bumper music? Yeah, they need
a race?
Speaker 1 (01:10:17):
Oh well, yes, okay, thank you.
Speaker 7 (01:10:20):
Listen to your shadow and the bumper music is like
totally awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:10:25):
Anyway, That's what got me into radio. So that would
be Trey Falco and am among other things that he
gets overlooked at around these parts. I'm kidding, I'm kidding,
but no he uh yeah, a bang up job. I
always love. It's a mystery to me. You think some
shows they prep a lot of things. We prep a
lot in terms of in between the lines, how we coordinate,
how the football stuff. That's ninety percent of my preparation.
(01:10:47):
I leave that in his hands, and it's always like
a yeah, nice, I like this one. It's a banger.
Speaker 7 (01:10:53):
Oh mean, that's why I am. You're coming in and
getting back on your segment or whatever, and you look
a bumper music here, and I'm like.
Speaker 4 (01:11:01):
No, no, don't come on yet.
Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
Let's shut up, John, Okay, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:11:08):
I don't want to hear them.
Speaker 1 (01:11:10):
Well, we call that the old stretch in the business.
Sometimes we need a breather. We let the music play.
Speaker 7 (01:11:19):
I had a couple of things. First, I want to
tell him in on the movies, then that. But first
I've got a comment on Lane Kiffing. Yeah, I was
my thoughts, my opinion, which they are, and they're not
bad opinions. I'm just I don't care Lane Kiffing can be.
He's I mean, I would even consider something. I mean,
(01:11:41):
he's a very good coach. I would even say he's
on the verge somewhat of an offensive type genius. He's
a great that.
Speaker 4 (01:11:49):
I mean.
Speaker 7 (01:11:49):
I think Nick saban owes him one of his national
championships when he was there, and and of course he
got Jackson Dark drafted in the first frown. But he
is like my my girlfriend owns a farm and travelers rest.
You got a nice little farm. And it's like she
has several tasks to do during the day and that
(01:12:13):
she and and and I say, okay, honey, just start
with the first one. Finish it, Finish the second one,
finished the third. You may not finish all the tasks
and one day, but you know what, you can say
at the end of the day, you finished some stuff. Okay. No,
she doesn't do that. She works on them all at
one time, and at the end of the day she
hasn't done a damn thing. And so Rayne Kiffen is
(01:12:41):
the same thing to me in that way. And I
mean this. He's coached at a lot of places, and
he's got a lot of years, and he's a very
good coach, and he's gonna win a lot of games.
But you know what, he's not gonna win a dang thing.
He's not gonna win a championship. He's not going to
because he can't stay. He can't sit too long. Now
(01:13:02):
and signs and extension, I will take my hand off
and get on it and say I was totally wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:13:09):
Yeah, I mean, that's where we're at right now. I mean,
he's this is this you know, and I said earlier
in the show kind of tongue in cheek, like, you know,
do what you're gonna do. It's business. It's huge business.
These institutions are breaking in millions upon millions with these
contracts from television and through ticket sales and all of it,
and the boosters as well. So yeah, when you're a coach,
(01:13:31):
leverage what you can get it. But there is some
truth to that, Like he's got old Miss on the
ropes right now, and it's an interesting dynamic. I think
it's a little different than it used to be for
some of these coaches. Perhaps Lane feels more liberated to
sort of play this long game in the middle of
a critical stretch. By the way, because a lot of
these players are paid professionals. Now, it's like we're all
in this together, you know what I mean, Rocky, It's like,
(01:13:53):
you know, the players aren't making nearly as much as
the coaches, which is the flip of what it is
in the NFL, ironically enough. But yeah, it's it's gonna
be interesting to see what he decides and what effect
it hasn't Some have even said if he flips and leaves,
and he leaves this team hanging with a couple of
weeks left, and the College Football Playoff Committee could could
(01:14:13):
knock them down a spot or two even if they
don't lose, just because of the perception they're weakened now
without their head coach.
Speaker 7 (01:14:20):
I agree totally, all right, So on to the movies
and the movie I'll start with the worst. You said
it a little while back when you were talking to
Chad and Caddyshack Too has got to be the absolute
worst in the entire cinema, and anybody that made that
movie they need to give their paychecks back.
Speaker 1 (01:14:39):
They do, including Chevy Chase the Rotten Tomatoes four percent
on that one good four percent.
Speaker 10 (01:14:46):
Wow, I will say, And there's a.
Speaker 7 (01:14:51):
Lot of great ones, but I'm gonna stand by what
my favorite is, and that's whos to Me and Bullderm
will be.
Speaker 1 (01:15:00):
A close kind of a second great movie.
Speaker 7 (01:15:03):
Two favorite sports movies. But I still in my own
Hoosiers is one of the best sports movies I've ever seen.
And you can go back and see some older ones
do back.
Speaker 14 (01:15:13):
What was it? Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:15:15):
Was it?
Speaker 7 (01:15:15):
I mean one with Gary Cooper?
Speaker 4 (01:15:17):
Was it?
Speaker 7 (01:15:17):
Priend of the Yankees or I mean some of those
older movies. But I mean, I'm just I'll go into
my lifetime in our modern ear.
Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
Within the last forty or fifty you get ranged.
Speaker 1 (01:15:28):
Man, look at you, You're covering the spectrum. You've got
it all.
Speaker 7 (01:15:33):
One of those old movies. And and uh and then
uh yeah, was he played Luke Goodley?
Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
I believe Gary.
Speaker 7 (01:15:41):
Yeah, they played Gary and one of great one a
great movie that was. Of course, I'm a big Gary
Cooper fan. Anyway, I love old movies.
Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
There you go so strong, high Noon.
Speaker 7 (01:15:51):
If you've never seen high Noon, you need to see it.
So uh.
Speaker 1 (01:15:54):
I love its good stuff, man, I like it. I
like I like the I like the fact you're on
board with the Caddy check to hate anything we can
all agree on. It's ensemble cast. I mean, Dan Ackroyd
was in that movie Chevy Chase, Jackie Mason, Randy Quaid,
and it's stunk. How can you make a bad movie
with those guys in your movie?
Speaker 7 (01:16:13):
It needs to be removed from all archives.
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
I tried it again, like a few weeks ago, just
the Safey and it's it's not even bad. Good like
some movies are bad. Good like they're so crappy. It's
like come back around and even that is just good.
They'll make fun of it. They're just trying too hard.
On the movie Jackie's Wacky Golf.
Speaker 7 (01:16:34):
That's like Adam Sandler movies. Adam Sandler movies are bad good.
I mean, you know, it's just funny enough to keep
you watching them. But they're like even.
Speaker 1 (01:16:41):
Happy Gilmore too. It wasn't nearly as good to me
as the original, but the John Daily John Tayy saved
that movie. Oh my god, I did.
Speaker 7 (01:16:54):
All right, guys, you'll have a good night too.
Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
Right there, there's Rocky out there in the Upstate. I
want to hear from you guys as well. Best and
worst sports movies of all time eight six four two
four zero five four eight zero much more Game on
after this show.
Speaker 13 (01:17:21):
Hey Upstate, John Ellis, has you covered?
Speaker 1 (01:17:23):
Yeah, ha, we got it.
Speaker 13 (01:17:25):
Game on one oh four point nine Fox Sports Upstate.
Speaker 5 (01:17:29):
Get in on the show at two four zero fifty
four eighty Bucket up Bucket.
Speaker 1 (01:17:39):
Came away Battle. That's a Football Thursday continues here on
Game on. Hope you all are do it well out there,
John Ellis, Tree, Pauli Wanders, Falco in the whole gang
here had some fun times which you had to vining
machine King heard from Brody earlier. Been a hot minute
since Brodie caught in, but he brought the heat earlier. Today,
phone lines are open eight six four two four zero
five four eight zero. Taking your nomination for the best
(01:18:01):
and worst sports movies of all time? A Caddy Shack
two is on the leaderboard right now for the worst.
I mean it. You know, Rocky came in and closed
the door on that one. It's got to be the
worst of all time. Just unwatchable. And you stack it
up against the original. Ah, it's just so bad. The
other one that I've been thinking about watching lately, you
can qualify it as a sports movie, although there were
(01:18:23):
a lot of dynamics to it. I watched a documentary
about Scorsese and Raging Bull is one of those I
need to sit down and watch with the nero. Anyway,
your best in worst sports movies all time? Look who's
on the Eagles outline? Oh my goodness, let me set
this up. Okay, so you know him well, not only
from his days here at iHeartRadio and he's still a
big part of our family. But impromptu call it in
(01:18:45):
is the linebacker the stud big number fifty three from
Cover Stockton College, Ethan Parsons is back of the house.
What's going on? Big Daddy.
Speaker 4 (01:18:55):
Sarennated?
Speaker 10 (01:18:55):
I'm still.
Speaker 1 (01:18:58):
Man? You got that that scataboo? I love it?
Speaker 8 (01:19:03):
Man?
Speaker 14 (01:19:05):
How are you gon?
Speaker 10 (01:19:07):
Taco?
Speaker 1 (01:19:08):
You know what I submit to the taco I always do.
I turned the taco for for me.
Speaker 4 (01:19:15):
Hey, that's my taco, eats mine and I eat it?
How I shall?
Speaker 1 (01:19:20):
How was the season?
Speaker 8 (01:19:21):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:19:21):
How is the season to talk about? You know, your
second year cover stock didn't play linebacker? Man, how how's
it been?
Speaker 10 (01:19:28):
Uh?
Speaker 14 (01:19:29):
It was?
Speaker 4 (01:19:30):
It was a better season in competitive last couple not
as good as we wanted it to be. Finished five
and six, you know, couldn't get that winning record, but
it was a much better step up. It's how we
were getting blown out badly. Like a couple of half years.
Speaker 3 (01:19:47):
We were closed.
Speaker 4 (01:19:47):
We kept be closed with pretty much every good team
we played except Grand View and then the number one
team in the country and the AI so and for
me personally, then gets the peg. I would have liked
to see what that was kind of expecting, but you
know I understood, I get it. You talked to coaches,
you deal with that, and that's in the past.
Speaker 10 (01:20:08):
So did the games that I was able to help contribute.
Speaker 1 (01:20:11):
I was gonna say, like I asked athletes all the time,
like you progress into year or two, did you ever
hit during your time there? We're talking about Ethan Parsons here,
a good friend of the show, linebacker cover Stockton College,
start here in the Upstate high school? Wise, did you
ever hit that quote, rookie Wall, And did you ever
find yourself after that the game slowing down for you
a little bit?
Speaker 4 (01:20:33):
Definitely? I think slowing down lines It really happened in
the spring when I like fully got to actually play
and be a part of the defense fully other than
you know, you rush in and fall camp and everything's
moving so quickly. Yeah, the change of speed between high
school and college at any level is so different and
it takes a while. So that the spring is kind
(01:20:54):
of when I started to slow down. But like you
said that, Rookie Wall, I didn't really have that this
yearfo Like you know, I'm beat up, I'm tired, I'm sore,
glad for a little break this upcoming week. Yeah, man,
But and so like last year when I hit after
that by league, like week seven, Week eight, it's like, man, yeah,
I'm kindly done done, but this year I haven't gone
(01:21:15):
through it kind of knowing what to expect. But you
get that mid season that by week it was a
lot easier to you know, stay locked in and into
it all.
Speaker 1 (01:21:22):
Right, biggie, Uh, let's let's pivot to the NFL real
quick because we're getting short on time here. But I
need to know tonight. I know you're gonna have that
TV on. I know you're gonna be watching your Texans,
who have dug themselves out of this hole. IM probably
without CJ. Stroud, and they're playing some defense man. That's
been the story of this team. And I picked them
(01:21:43):
to beat Buffalo just straight up because I see Buffalo
a little bit challenged right now in the perimeter. I
know Josh Allen is next level great. We all know that,
but Dimico's defense is a great matchup I think for
this Bill's team.
Speaker 4 (01:21:58):
Hiptimism. I think because you know, I'm a Texas fans,
so that was that optimistic. I think it'll keep it
close just because our defense is genuinely amazing. That's in
the league. Like you and I both said in the offseason,
that would be. But I don't know.
Speaker 10 (01:22:16):
I don't know what to expect.
Speaker 4 (01:22:17):
I think I think it's kind of similar to the
Titans game and the fact that the defense will keep
it close just long enough to the offense have a chance.
But we're not playing the Titans that like we were
last week. So if it comes down to it, I'm
obviously taking Josh Allen over Davis Mills. So I think
we'll keep it close. Think we'll keep it interesting, but
I think they'll the CJ being out. We just want
(01:22:38):
enough fire power on the offense.
Speaker 1 (01:22:40):
I love I love our text threads. You, you and
Trey and I have this text thread going during the
football season. Like it's fun that all three of our
teams now like Panthers for yours truly in my family,
and then the Steelers for Falco and your Texans. It's
like the first time since we've known each other, they're
all in the hunt right now. It's kind of fun, man, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:22:58):
It's exactly all the same. It's kind of funny.
Speaker 1 (01:23:00):
It's wild. Man. Well, we're gonna be seeing you soon, right,
You're yes, sir?
Speaker 4 (01:23:05):
This week?
Speaker 15 (01:23:07):
Yeah, man, And I made the promise I said two
weeks ago, and Trey brought it up in the group chat.
Speaker 4 (01:23:14):
I am formally apologizing to Matthew Staffers. I was not
familiar with the game you or I Top five quarterack
and he's.
Speaker 15 (01:23:21):
Not only top cam, but to talk five quarterback.
Speaker 4 (01:23:23):
I take back my dam man. That brother is healthy,
and I apologize.
Speaker 1 (01:23:27):
Breaking news, breaking news. He's he's finally put to the
quarterback that over the last seven weeks has thrown twenty
two touchdowns and zero interceptions. Look, he surprised me too.
I didn't see that coming.
Speaker 15 (01:23:40):
Hey, Colin Coward, take notes and how you made me
and how you admit you where Ethan was right?
Speaker 1 (01:23:49):
All right, brother, be safe out there, man, come see
us next week.
Speaker 4 (01:23:54):
Yes, sir, I promise you'll be up there.
Speaker 1 (01:23:56):
My man. There he goes the man, the Midt, the
my man. Go and be safe out there on the roads.
That's our guy, Ethan Parsons, who has been a mainstay
on this show, and of course, if you followed Burns
High School, he was a star there and works here
at iHeartRadio from time to time doing promotions with just
Jeff and the whole gang. And during the summer years. Man,
(01:24:17):
during the summer months, I should say he's been a
star on this show man, and just I'm wishing nothing
but the best for him in his football future. Doing
a great job out there at cover Stockton in Missouri.
A good homecoming for him this week for the Thanksgiving holiday.
That's a week from the night. Oh my goodness, it's
a week from the night. Yeah, that's crazy, man, it's
coming up on us here. We talked about ceiling and
(01:24:38):
floor index. We're going to push that to tomorrow again.
I know you guys don't mind that, but we'll get
a good look at tonight's game and start sizing up
what's going to be in our opinions, the best and
worst case scenarios for each of these teams coming down
the stretch. In terms of you know, we talked about
playoff percentages out there, the likelihood the teams can make
(01:24:59):
the playoff run if they happen to win this week,
if they lose, what does that mean for their playoff
likelihood out there? In terms of the analytics, and we
talked about this Panthers team with a huge game on
Monday night football and a great opportunity to not only
stay in contact with the wild card race, but you
look at that game. We just talked about Matthew Stafford
(01:25:21):
with Ethan there. Look at what they have to go
against the Buccaneers coming up Sunday night. You've got Matt
Stafford at home in the Dome, and you get the
Buccaneers visiting that team. So Carolina has a great opportunity
to sit back, get a day off on Sunday, get
all your install and work in, do your walk through,
and then hey, if Tampa happens to lose right down
(01:25:42):
the road there from San Francisco in LA, then you
go into Monday night's game. And I'm not look, I
picked Carolina to win for a certain matchup I see
in this game in terms of what they can do
to exploit some defensive elements of what San Francisco does.
And I'll admit I'm picking with my heart a little
bit too, because I got kids at home. It would
love to see this team enge closer to a playoff berth.
(01:26:03):
But they have a chance to take the division lead
going into Thanksgiving week. And that's a real testament to
Dave Canalis the job he has done, and something I
talked about when you contrast and compare certain teams out
there and the way they've gone about building It makes
me happy for Panthers fans out there that Dan Morgan,
(01:26:25):
the general manager of this team, has not only built
this thing patiently, but he's done it through the trenches
and a lot of it's come through the draft. On
the offensive line. They lean heavy into free agency last
year made things right Bryce Young, Do we totally know yet?
Speaker 14 (01:26:39):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:26:40):
I don't think we ever truly know until you get
into a cycle where okay, now he's arrived, there he goes.
And there are very few quarterbacks in this league that
are in that bracket, in that age bracket right now
where you can say, certainly, yes, ten years, lock him up.
But as Joe Dolan mentioned earlier, with Bryce, it it
feels a little bit like you've already got the next
(01:27:03):
Baker or Sam Meaning if Bryce were to play average
to above average football and somehow he gets away from
this team, He's the kind of quarterback that I could
see excel and a number of offenses out there. So
I think last week was a great sort of precursor
to what he can do and also a good reminder
(01:27:26):
of what he has already done as a Heisman winner.
Playing in the most competitive defensive conference in my opinion,
in college football, that's the SEC. He returned to Atlanta
against a very good pass defense in Mercedes Been Stadium
on Sunday, A stadium. He's had a lot of success
in not just as a pro, but in the college ranks,
where he went against Georgia in the SEC Championship in
(01:27:49):
one of those seasons his Heisman year. I believed it
was and diced them up for four hundred and fifty
yards passing. He's got it in him. The whole thing
just needs to come together. And I'll tell you the
big X factor has been Tetoa McMillan, the rookie from Arizona.
He is outstanding. I was telling Panthers fans last night
in the group chat and on Twitter, social media everywhere
(01:28:10):
I do Panthers content at one Panther place, no matter
what happens down this stretch, and this was Look, there's
a lot of things we get wrong on this show,
and we love to point them out. The one thing
I was adamant about from the day I stepped on
the field at training camp this year covering this team
for iHeartRadio up close and Personal, was at Tetoa McMillan
despite all the pre draft angst about taking him that high.
(01:28:33):
When I saw him out there on the boundary, that
dude is for real. He's been for real and he's
been spot on all season long. He stayed healthy, he
knows how to block. His route running is exceptional for
a guy of that size upwards of six to five,
and once they start getting the catch radius game going
for him down the field, it's going to be next
(01:28:54):
level for this guy. You know, there have not been
a lot of receivers come through the doors in Carolina
up there in Charlotte that look like that. That was
my first impression. Steve Smith was the most dynamic receiver
we've ever seen around these parts in that uniform. But
he was five to nine. He played like he was six'.
Five great, vertical great, intensity competitive, greatness and a mean
(01:29:17):
streak about him that made him better than his height
and weight would. Indicate McMillan is just a Stud Drake
london Esque Mike EVANS. Esq and he's got the potential
to be one of the greats in this. League he really,
does and he's got the right mindset for. It panthers
forty nine Ers, Monday night eight. Fifteen Tonight texans against The,
(01:29:38):
bills fascinating game On prime. Video will wrap up this
edition Of Game on and get you ready for that
big game right after the show
