jay Z seven.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I don't understand Edmunds Tinkle table.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
This is actually going over the air. It is.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Yeah, I love.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
That par for me.

fight about it.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
It's the wrong call.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Two four zero fifty four. Now here's John Elis and
Trey Paully Walnuts Falco. Well, we are just recovering here
from the slough. We had to watch yesterday with our
favorite teams. I hope your favorite team had a better
day as my Panthers and Trey Pauley Walnuts, Falco Steelers
to go big hold up yesterday it comes to oh man,
(01:22):
it was a wild week ten, Week ten that now
comes to a close tonight for some of you that
may be lucky enough to watch this game at AHTM
right on ABCESPN, it is a big game Eagles and Packers.
It looks like Saque Barcleay's gonna play. A J Brown's
got a hamstring, He's gonna play. It's a big Monday.
It's a football Monday here on Game on Good to
(01:43):
be with you. It's John Elis, It's Trey pauliue Wannuts Falco.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Hope y'all are doing well.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
The number is always eight six four two four zero
five four eight zero. I do have a big question
of the day and it is brought to you by
our friends at Ingles Market. Take your personal feelings side
out of this. It could be your favorite team, maybe
just for recreational purposes, but what would be the most
entertaining Super Bowl matchup? Considering all the teams we have
(02:09):
right now in the landscap, what Super Bowl matchup do
you most want to see and take your favorite team
out of it if you have to. The most entertaining
potential Super Bowl matchup eight six four two four zero
five four eight zero is We are still trying to
figure out, as Vince Lombardi would say, what the hell
is going on out here with this NFL. I have
no idea what to expect.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
We do a lot fast.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Let's start with last night. Do we have to or
we do we'd have to? And I'll get to the
Panthers as well. I have some thoughts on that team,
as I was there yesterday for iHeartRadio covering the Panthers'
terrible performance against the New Orleans Saints. I did a
little half and half in that game. Yeah, sat with
my kids for most of the game in the stands
(02:53):
to get a flavor of the fans out there. It
was awesome. The only part that sucked was the game.
And I'll get to that and much much more. There's
comments from head coach Dave Canalis, There's comments from some
of the players on what happened. I have a strong theory.
I had a strong theory during that game that there
was something up with the performance of this game as
(03:14):
it related to maybe all the things that had nothing
to do with football we were talking about last week. No,
It'skeek and Michael Key, the two pumps, Well it's zero pump.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
This week it's.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Carolina Mike singing his song. Have you seen this guy?
Speaker 2 (03:28):
No, He's like, uh, it's like it's and he showed
up to the game singing his anthem.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Everything was great, except they forgot there was a football game.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Apparently the most important part.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
The Steelers flew all the way out west. The fans
were great, the terrible towels were waving, but they also
forgot to bring in large part their offense.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Well, I brought the wrong eight.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
I tell you. I had to squint a few times.
That looked like Kenny Pickett for a damn minute.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
It looked like to oh my god, some of those throws.
I'm looking at it. And and then of course the
cherry on top. Well, you know, here's a guy. You know,
you got Aaron Rodgers, and it's just this office just say,
is it Clayton. He's tried to do everything. You know,
he throws a beautiful ball. I was like, Chris, he
just threw a four yard short into the dirt.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
People were screaming on Steeler's Twitter about Collinsworth. Have you
ever watched a Steelers game in your life?
Speaker 2 (04:27):
As nails on a chalkboard, Off, here's a guy. Yeah,
he he's just not I don't know what. The defense
hadn't given him anything when he comes out on these
play actions. I was like, defense, give him plenty and
a wide open guy.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
One thing I will see. If you're on hold, stay
right there, we're gonna get to you. One thing I
will say about the Steelers. They should have made a
move at the trade deadline for a viable receiver. They
were talking about this last time and you tried to
go to three wide.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Apparently they did, and like they they offered from what
I've seen from I think it was Koboli came out
talked about they offered the same package as the God
where did Ycuby Myers go?
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Oh to Jacks Jags?
Speaker 2 (05:04):
And he decided they let him choose Jacoby Mars like,
now I'm going to I'm going to Jacksonville, Jacksonville. Yeah,
how that go? How didn't work out?
Speaker 1 (05:11):
I was watching the frantic texting back and forth between
you and our friend. Uh, not only a linebacker cover
stocked in college, but a Texans suber fan.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Yeah, miche, I mean Ethan Parsons.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Ethan's Parsons, Yes, and Ethan was what did he texts
last night? Texan seasons done?
Speaker 2 (05:28):
And then not too much later, I want you to
get the word out.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
I'm in my prime. We're back and the two of
you are going back and forth, and I'm juggling work stuff,
so I'm trying to catch up. I'm just I'm actually
just a spectator. There. There's always that chair in the
hotel chair sho. My advantage of the two of you
having a little conversation about the Houston Texans, who, of
all things yesterday became like the third or fourth team
(05:54):
this year to have one of these twenty six plus
point fourth quarter. Oh yeah, miraculous come.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Back thanks to the all twenty two.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Oh I'm I'll tell you the all next bowl, that's right,
next man up, Well, Davis Mills got the best of
Trevor Lawrence in that game. We'll talk Panthers, will talk Steelers,
We'll talk Brian Dabole. He got fired today as the
New York Giants head coach. Some wild doings in college
football as well. What a weekend it was for Indiana.
Oh my gosh, I'd catch the bank of the end zone.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Great call to by the way, from the official.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Band of Mendoza. Yeah, Mendoza's mine, not yours, he's ours.
We're claiming him.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Wait now you already you already had your picket a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
It didn't work. No, I don't get here yet. Knuck
oar fulk. You guys have passed up on the position
for ten years now. I know, apparently you need a lot.
You've seen some of the AI videos of Mike Tomlin.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
You know we lost. It was bad. We got him right,
we want him now we're going to.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Wait God, let's uh, let's head out to the Ingles Hotline.
Happy football Monday to you.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Hey, how's it going, fellows?
Speaker 5 (06:57):
This is Mattin Greer.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Hey, man, Mattin Greer, Welcome into the show man. What's
going to mind?
Speaker 6 (07:02):
John?
Speaker 5 (07:03):
I did it. I wasted. I wasted perfectly good, hard
earned money and went to that game yesterday.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Charlotte, not that one.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
Now. I saw them play against the Packers, and I
was like, man, I'm confident. This is the first time
I felt confident.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Going through game and years.
Speaker 5 (07:24):
And I was like, man, this is the time we
get to just just rubbing in the Steelers' faces or
not the Steelers, the Saints face.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Oh, let them have it.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Yeah, And then.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
I saw that crap show, and I was very disappointed.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
I'm so sorry. This was also my son's birthday game,
so Andrew, Yeah, the seventeenth birthday. And my brother James,
apparently last minute decided we never even linked up because
he didn't know we were going, and he's working his
tailoff up there in western North Carolina. He shows up
to the game, drives down the morning of, just buys
(07:59):
a ticket on Ticketmaster, and he's like, of all the games,
and it really Matt. It was like the damnedest thing,
because there's no logical reason Carolina should have backtracked from
what they've been doing at all. But no, everything felt flat,
like even the stadium it was packed and it was
mostly Panthers fans. Yeah, and I spent some time in
(08:20):
the press box, we did the pregame show, but it
felt flat. It felt it was hot as hell, by
the way, it was like seventy five degrees that didn't
feel right, But it just didn't feel like a playoff
team type of environment. And I think the play on
the field had a lot to do with it. And
they've talked about it openly today. Matt can Alice talked
(08:40):
about it. They had a bad week of practice. Some
of the players after the game were telling us we
didn't put in a good week of practice, and I'm like, well,
damn it showed. I mean, come on, now, we know yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
And the Panthers fans, I mean they put it all
out there. I mean the stadium was loud, you know,
I was. I was very encouraged to hear like the
fans did their part. But man, this is the first
time I saw Bryce Young live, like the last time
as the Panthers name. Sam Darnold was a QB.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Andick a bad one. Oh god, you picked up that?
That was that that interception. I'm going to tell you
something watching the film on that this morning. Alante Taylor,
the corner number one who's always been one of their
best secondary players on a team that's trying to rebuild
every single year. He was coming on a corner blitz
and right when I was watching that live in the stadium.
I said, I want to see the tape on it
(09:32):
again because he baited Bryce into it. It was a
simple one read little seven routes to the boundary. And
Taylor just has been watching film on this and sees
that Bryce has a lot of these one red concepts
where you you know, sort of baked the blitz, you
drop back into his zone and you just undercut it.
And Bryce was throwing one of those anticipation off the
you know hitch throws where you know, it's three five
(09:55):
steps and boom that bawls out and you should have
a predetermined out available. And it's just not good enough.
Nothing about the passing game is good enough.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Leget.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
I'm sorry, it's Matt. It's time to put him on
the bench. He's got to sit down. I mean, do
you agree. It's like he's out there and he's a
net negative right now for this team. And I like
the guy a lot. And boy, he's got some energy
and he's got some passion, he's got some athleticism.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Yep, he's not doing anything.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Nope. And my wife frustrating my wife.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
Who was there, who doesn't know hardly anything about football.
Harley watches. I mean, she'll watch a game or two,
but she was completely right. She was like, why is
it that when Bryce throws he has to almost put
like a curve on it just to get it out there.
And I'm saying it's because he's too short. I don't
care what what offensive line you have out there. He
has to almost manipulate the ball just to get it
(10:49):
to the receivers. And when you do that, you leave
yourself open for number one getting an interception and number
are intercepted and number two getting it batted down. And like,
if she can notice that, surely surely the coaches and
the recruiters can see that.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Well it stands out. I mean, look, and when he
played so well last year at the end of the season,
he was getting the same kind of pressure from Kansas City,
from Philadelphia. I'm going to tell you somebody they missed tremendously.
And not that it's worked out better for him or
his team now, but delan Adam Thielen, Yeah, that to
me was one of the big blunders they made preseason
because the thought was, well, trade thelan Coker will slide
(11:26):
into the slot, and then it's revealed Cocher has an
hamstring injury and he misses the first like four or
five games of the year. Finally he comes back and
he's still getting his win back here. I think the
feeling thing is highly overlooked when you look at Bryce's security.
He was a great route runner. He was always where
Bryce and needed him to be. That can't last forever, obviously,
(11:48):
and look, he's not doing a lot in Minnesota right now,
but that's a whole different story. He was so great
for that operation. And I know they're trying to move
on collect some draft capital, and I necessarily disagree long
term that they had to do it, but I think
that's part of the short term struggle with this passing
game is Steland. Plus they've played like ten different combinations
on the offensive line. And as I told people last night, Matt,
(12:09):
you know, people come to me at one Panther place
on Twitter for like therapy at night, and there's some
nights where I just shut the office down. I'm like,
I got nothing, guys, I put the clothes to sign on.
I'm like, we're closed for business tonight. I can't do
it anymore. But I did put out something.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
Now go ahead, and Canalis wants to keep his job.
He needs to draft the quarterback.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
They gotta do something. They gotta do something.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
He needs competition.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
I mean, that's the bottom line. He's going into year
four next year, that fifty year option will be looming.
There needs to be more consistency. And when you look
at things, I think Son Andrews said at best, he
was gripe in the whole way home. He said that
I can take a loss. I'm so concerned about this quarterback.
Even if they go you know, ten wins, which is
still very possible because it's a good teak card if
they go nine to ten wine in card. He's all
(12:54):
down trotting about the quarterback thing, and I'm like, well,
you're not wrong. He's not showing any ability consistently to
throw you know, those layered balls you need in terms
of the second third level. And you can't rely on
a guy that consistently maxes out around one hundred and
seventy five yards a game passing. I'm not a STATIRG.
You can win a number of ways, but he's got
(13:15):
to get in that two fifty ballpark with some consistency
and more touchdowns.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
And when you're averaging what seems to be two turnovers
every other game is not good either, thank you.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Chad had it rung the whole time. Two turnovers, not
two toudies.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
You're to os two tundies out the.
Speaker 5 (13:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Yeah, they scored one toundy all game and it was
three co dobble on the opening series and the rest
of the gal Matt I'm so sorry. I'm sorry you
had to go through that. Better days A part is the.
Speaker 5 (13:45):
Worst part is we got to the game at the
end of the first course, so we didn't even get
to see a.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Thing that's relatable content. I can't tell you how many
times because we're driving up from Greenville. I mean, this
goes back to the days where I was going with
my dad and brother. We'd be showing up and of
course we'd be getting into that traffic in Uptown and
be walking into the stadium gates and there's some sort
of problem with the ticketing and we're walking in and
(14:12):
you had to rely on the PA guy and the
crowd noise to let you know what's going on. You
missed the best play of the game.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
Man, damneez hey, but you question of the day I
would say I would love to see was it the
I mean I'd like to see Lamar the Ravens, of course,
and I don't know. I don't know who i'd have
from the NFC.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
You hate them all.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
That's why I ready.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
The Ravens and the Eagles would be a really intriguing matchup,
I would think, or the Lions that would be good.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Well, yeah, I mean Detroit. You know Dan Campbell for
the pure octane. It's time for.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
People to put some respect on his name.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
As he got out the bifocals last night and the
reading glass, he got his readers. He got his readers
out last night and he said the Hareworth dish, I'm
sugaredish off Finch looking like garbage.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
I'm calling him. He was out there to town.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yeah, I think that was that was his way. If
not only he picks his moments, Dan Campbell does. He
looked at what happened last year when they came in
talking about Washington and thumped them in the playoffs. Oh yeah.
He sees a vulnerable defense on the other side.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Doesn't matter if you have one asso or three tones,
I will be.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
He sees all this is going on with Ben Johnson,
the hype and loves like give me that damn play sheet.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
I'm giving you I'll do it, And he did it
and they put up forty plus points. Yeah, that'd be a.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Fun team to see.
Speaker 5 (15:42):
Andy Reid has the wall Flaves menu and and he's
got the Applebee's menu out here.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah, and smoking like a salesman right there.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
I like that, all right?
Speaker 5 (15:53):
Man, Well stuff, Hey, I can get myself to watch
another game this year.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Yeah, yeah, dude, it'll be fine. They'll go to Atlanta
this week. That's a good matchup for them. They beat
them thirty to nothing earlier this year. That's a big
win coming up this week if they can get it,
and then they're right back, you know, on the playoff track.
But yeah, that's stunk yesterday. That one stuck.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
Atlanta's a Musk win.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
I know.
Speaker 5 (16:15):
I'm glad the Patriots helped us out.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
But man, Atlanta is in Musk winter. If you know
when that you might as well.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
Just pack up your bags.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Well, as you mentioned, if you don't win it and
the quarterback continues to turn the ball over, then you
might have to look at, I hate to say it,
the red rocket. You might have to dust off the artillery.
And that's part of the problem. Is Dalton hadn't been
much better, So it's not like you can look at anything.
We're scouring the wire last night looking at depth charts.
My son frantically again. I had to just give Andrew
(16:44):
Melatona at some point say please, Son, go to sleep.
He's looking for any backup quarterbacks out there that would
be better next year than Bryce. And I said, well,
one name that comes to mind maybe is Minshew, maybe
Garter Minshew. You get him in here, pack the prison bus,
bringing on, you know, gets somebody in there like that.
A little bit of fires get them measurables. But other
than that, I mean, maybe it's a Trevor Lawrence, Bryce Swamp.
(17:04):
Maybe you do that. Jacksonville's ready to get.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Rid of Trevor.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
The draft. You know what, it's that size. It's the
size thing. People look at it and say, you know,
Bryce has had some good games, but boy, when it's
bad and you see him out there at five ten,
five eleven, and it's just a struggle to push the
ball down the field and you get man coverage all
day yesterday you saw the game, you were there. That's
(17:30):
all the Saints did. Cover two, cover one, cover two.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
Man.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
They were putting people in the box. They had seven
eight in the box at some point. Sometimes they had
nine in the box. There were opportunities downfield. The offensive
line's got to be better. But when everything's not perfect,
you're get in that situation. And I know he won
yesterday too, it did, but it feels a little bit
like Tua and that everything has to be perfect. The
table has to be set beautifully in terms of a
running game, in terms of an offensive line, and if
(17:54):
it's not, Bryce will fail. And that's not a fair
It's not a franchise quarterback. It's not.
Speaker 5 (18:01):
And like the the they made, the Saints defense just
look like all pros. And I'm like, every other week
I'm watching these guys get destroyed. But for some reason,
our offense just likes to let them look great. You know,
I don't understand that.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
It's a damn give Kellen Moore some credit. I said
this last night too. They came in, they had a
lot to play for in terms of their pride. Carolina
has been in that spot before too, as recently last year,
as they came in with like one or two wins
and then they started beating teams that were sort of
chasing the playoffs. It happens. This has been a crazy year, Matt,
crazy year around the NFL.
Speaker 5 (18:36):
It has right, I'll let you'all go that's my rant,
all right, but keep outing, all right?
Speaker 1 (18:46):
That joke didn't sit well with Matt out there. We
love you, Bud, and you know, hang in there. Matt
from Greer, who would pick Baltimore and Philly or Detroit
in his Super Bowls? That would bring the most intrigue.
I'm kind of ready to sit Philly out for a
year on. I think you need some new blood in
that Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
I know the rules are to keep your favorite team
out of it, but I'm at the point where I'm like,
I want Steelers and Panthers in the Super Bowl and
we're all gonna suffer. We're all gonna hate it, and
you're gonna have to watch it.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Last night, there's a screen shot I sent my son
last I should have sent it to you too, but
you were probably trying to get a little bit of
rest here. Where the hell is it. It was in
the middle of the game and I was catching up
on work and I finally saw this on my screens.
Had a screen shot.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Oh the miserable.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Three to two was the score. Dude in the early
second and then it was five to three. I'm sitting here,
throw the ball, baseball score the hell we do it
out here, man.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Somebody a yinser posted that five to three or yeah,
five to three, said man, we got to get Paul
Skiing some run support.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Baseball score it it felt like a Pirates game. It did,
it did?
Speaker 2 (19:54):
It did end like Pirates game too.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Hey, guess who's back. Look who's back on the practice field?
Breaking news. Oh my goodnesses, if it couldn't get any
worse for Steeler fans suffering in their missile of the day,
the memes of Tomlin being crestfall in her back because
in Cincinnati, ladies and gentlemen, if you're just sitting down
and listening to the radio or television for the first time, today.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Joe Burrow, Joe Burrow.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Is back on the practice field. His twenty one day
window has opened up. It don't look like it needs
twenty one days. He's out there running around. I don't know.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
Jim, check the schedule. It ain't looking great. Sunday nover
sixte Surely there is no way it doesn't matter, because
it'll be Joe anyway, So watch it.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Burrow comes back in the Steelers win. Well, it's out
that could happen to you get Flacco twice? Yeah, I
don't know. Well, we'll see how it goes with Flacco.
We'll give you a update on that. We'll love take
you on the story about Brian Dable who was fired today.
I'll give you some opinion on that. Yeah, and uh,
we're gonna do a full NFL whip around all the scores,
all the big moments, all the highlights have mattered. We'll
(21:05):
give you four run on the top twenty five. What
happened in college football this weekend and your calls? What
would be the most fun Super Bowl matchup this year?
A fun matchup? Two four zero five four eight zero.
We are back after this year. This is game on
on one oh four nine Fox Sports. Up Stick get
in on the show at two four zero fifty four
(21:27):
eight four. Get a sum on Twitter at one o
four nine Fox Sports.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
I wontormation four hope.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Yeah, jocol Jerry had a week off to look at
his works from what was a turbulent week. The Cowboys
fell last Monday night. There's a Monday Nighter on tonight
at Big One Eagles and the Packers Cowboys week off
for them, but they had an exciting week of trade.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
So there's that I did. Yeah, they won the trade market,
won the trade market.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
Well, we can't win games, we can't defend anybody, but
we're going to win the trade day and they they did.
That was already a week ago tomorrow, Hargin weeks. Yeah,
it does go fast. Week tend's already behind us. We'll
give you a full whip round of all the scores
and all the things that mattered. It is game on.
I'm John, and let's the question of the day, along
with Trey Pauli Wannat's falco is as follows. What's the
(22:35):
most fun Super Bowl matchup? Potentially this year the most
fun game? I go back to what the Rams are
doing right now. Oh yeah, namely their thirty seven year
old quarterback. We had a conversation about this with some
of you all on Friday about the viability of Matthew Stafford. Right,
how long can he play? Well, I don't know how
(22:56):
long he can play, but I'll tell you it's been
a masterclass in coaching by Sean McVay in terms of
heavy personnel they're doing what the Steelers want to do,
basically running a lot of too well, that's a part
of it. Yes, two three tight end sets.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Yeah oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
And they're throwing to these tight ends. They're also getting
free access for their receivers through these sets. Let me
give you Matthew Stafford's stat line since Week four. All right,
all right, Matthew Stafford has thrown for twenty touchdowns since
Week four. That's six games now. He has zero interceptions,
twenty touchdowns, zero interceptions on the season for this quarterback
(23:38):
for the Rams. That right now, he's the MVP of
the league to me, with the exception of maybe one
guy who yesterday absolutely put the game on his shoulders
in Berlin, in Jonathan Taylor. Yeah yeah, that guy is
a monster.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
We had talked a little bit about it on Richest Show.
But part of my point towards Jonathan Taylor too, because
it's most valuable Player. I mean, it's become a quarterback award.
I mean, let's call it what it is. But if
you take Jonathan Taylor off that team, they do not
play the same way and there's no clear picture that
like you could throw hypotheticals out all you want, But
look at them playing against the Steelers and how they
(24:19):
shut down Jonathan Taylor and how awful that Colt's team
looked without him cooking. Yeah, he is the most valuable
player on that team.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
He is. He's the head of the snake, as we
talk about. And until you are able to kill that
part of what they do right figuratively into the football sense,
in good luck doing that. They have a good offensive line,
and Taylor does so much outside the scope of their
offensive line to gain those hidden yardage. Until you do
that in the times they have been beaten, mean, look
(24:48):
at your Steelers. Look at what they did. Pittsburgh has
been on a weird up and downe run flat Jacquelyn
Hyde lea. But the Steelers took Taylor out of the
game right a couple of weeks ago, and they won
the game. Let me give you Taylor stats from yesterday, right,
just to put this in perspective. Thirty two rushes, two
hundred and forty four yards, three touchdowns. Kids, those are
(25:09):
college numbers. Yeah, those are at school. Those are maddened
on all rookie mode. That's what you get with that.
And the Colts, Look, it wasn't always pretty they went overtime.
It's an awkward environment going overseas and playing one of
those international games, but they continue to get it done.
And that might be one of those teams. To look
(25:30):
at us, and you know what, they'd be a fun,
frisky team in the super Bowl because I could see
that We've got a lot of flair about them. They
don't have a lot of recognition on their defense in
terms of the names. Although I'll say this, they did
add Sauce Gardner and he was on the ground a
couple of times with some broken ankles.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
Yeah he was.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
He had him a bit of a rough game there
for a minute. Drake Lennon another big day. We'll recap
all of these games in detail later in the show.
What would be the most fun Super Bowl matchup? Two?
Four zero five four eight zero? You got a pencil
in like either of the Rams to me? With Stafford?
Speaker 2 (26:06):
That could be fun.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Yeah, like Rams, Chiefs would be fun to me. Oh
here we go with the Chiefs again. Oh boy, Kelsey
and Taylor and all this crap. But once in our
lifetime it would be fun. Before Stafford becomes of a
certain age where he can't do this anymore. To see
those two at their peak going at it. Yeah, the
the the arms race, that is the two of these guys.
(26:29):
Maybe that would be it. I tell you a team
that's not looking a lot of fun right now is
the Buffalo Bills. Oh dude, Yeah, they are aggressing. And
you know, even when they came to Charlotte a couple
weeks ago, when I was at that game cover in
the game for the Panthers, it did.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Not look good.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
Then the score looked good for them, but the offense
didn't look good. Allen's not looking right. The weapons are marginal, Yeah,
outside of the tight ends. And that's a problem spot
for that team. Is they lose yesterday in the league
where we have no idea what the hell is going on?
They lose big to the Dolphins. You see Mike McDaniel
(27:04):
what he did after the game. Uh, there's this is
a place called the Elbow Room down there in South Beach.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
So yeah, you sent that to me. Yeah, okay, I
forget about that.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Mike McDaniel makes it a point. Come all the way
from hard Rock Stadium right, drive by this bar, roll
this window down and say hi to the Bill's mafia
that was there invading the place after the game. I
love Mike McDaniel. I'm on board. Look at the contrast
and styles. Look at what happens with certain teams. They
(27:35):
fire the general manager who was highly inept in Chris Greer.
That team is rallying behind their head coach. They're playing
good football. They traded away some people that were important
and cooling, including Jalen Phillips yep, their best defensive end.
And then that brings me to what's going on with
the Giants. I'm not a fan of firing day Bowl.
And here's why. He has helped in a lot of ways,
(27:59):
if not single handed, gotten Jackson dark to do the
most with almost nothing to work with that you could
imagine him doing.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Who's throwing to?
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Yeah, nobody? Who's he hanging the ball off?
Speaker 2 (28:10):
They used to have a running game with Skatabooy and
that's fun until he was out.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
Now the blown leads are one thing right right. Part
of that's a byproduct of what's going on with their roster,
which they've got a great pass rush, they've got a
very decent offensive line. They've got no receivers right now.
They don't have anybody at tight end that really threatens you.
And they don't have a lot of running backs right
now because they're all hurt and they got Dart out
there doing a lot and I think day Bolls coaching
(28:34):
has had a lot to do with that. Now, at
the end of the day, I could care less. It's
the Giants, do what you want. But Joe Shane, apparently
the general manager, is going to lead the search for
the new head coach. Okay, I don't get that. Shane
has been as much of a problem in terms of
the turnover there as anything. And if you look at
the Giants, if you're on hold, stay right there, we're
gonna get to you. If you look at what the
(28:55):
Giants have done in terms of their coaching cycle of late,
it's hideous. Brian Dable finishes with a record of twenty
and forty as the head coach. Look, you are what
your record is, and I guess at some point that
happens to be the reason you're fired. Joe Judge, who
preceded Brian Dable, was ten and twenty three. Pat Shermer
(29:18):
was nine and twenty three. Ben McAdoo was thirteen and fifteen.
At least McAdoo and Dable each went to the playoffs
once those are the coaches since Tom Kaufler. That's a
rough go for the Giants fans in New York football
in general, between the Giants and the Jets.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Yeah, pack it up.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
I'm telling you. At least the Jets beat the Browns yesterday.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
I did.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Yeah, that's put your seatbelts on and get ready to
put a ride.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Get there, Dylan Gabriel, Hey, I mean running out in
his doctors.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Not a pretty scene in Cleveland right now. But a
lot of teams are trying to figure out who the
hell they are, what the hell they're doing, And there's
a lot to figure out a lot of teams, including
the Panthers who fell to the Saints yesterday. It's a
crazy league so far. Joe Burrow, by the way, is
back on the practice field. He has told Jay Glazer
that he expects to be backed by Thanksgiving, which is
(30:13):
week thirteen, when they play on Thanksgiving Night versus the Ravens.
Looks like you.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Two weeks say dodge.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Dodge the Borough bullet. Let's go to the Engles hotline.
Welcome into game on.
Speaker 6 (30:25):
Hey, this is Bobby from Teksview.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
Hey Bobby, what's going on? Man.
Speaker 6 (30:29):
How about him, Colt?
Speaker 1 (30:31):
How about those Caps? Bobby, Yeah, Tier.
Speaker 6 (30:35):
Needs to be MVP. I hate why I have a
two two thousand yard seasons.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
It's an impressive team. Like the way they've rebuilt that
offensive line. They lost some guys, they had to restock
it a little bit. Daniel Jones has done a great
job of not only managing the game, but he gets
yards with his feet at times. The receiving corps, which
we don't talk about a lot. You got Pittman, you
got down some of these guys. Alec Pierce is a
machine out there in terms of the deep ball, and
you got this this monster of a tight end, Tyler Warren,
(31:04):
who you know, right. I like the Panthers what they
did with McMillan, but boy Warren, he met a catch
on the boundary yesterday. Bobby, Oh my gosh, Oh, I know.
Speaker 6 (31:13):
I think Warren's rookie of the year. I think he
should be Rookie of the year.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
He's up there, Yeah, he's up there, honestly.
Speaker 6 (31:18):
And then and then the second drive of the game
when Pierce uh ran, when Johnathan Taylor ran it about
what he run thirty yards and then that it was
two plays on that second drive, and then that second
drive where Jones just stood back and threw it up
to the end zone and Pierce called that ball.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
Oh yeah, yeah, it was fair.
Speaker 6 (31:37):
Taylor stet had a million itself. I know they got
and they had some adversity yesterday with the Colts, who
they overcame, some stuff they did, which I think they
needed a game like that.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
I think defensively too, they did with that. The whole thing.
When you play the Falcons, it's a lot like playing
your team. You have to eliminate the running back. I mean,
that's the biggest priority is to neutralize Taylor. In the
case the Falcons, it's be Robinson, who had seventeen carries
eighty four yards did not find the end zone on
the ground. And that's good work because it holds Pinnicks
into a position where now he's under fifty percent passing.
(32:09):
He only gets one touddy one hundred and seventy seven yards.
You'll take that any day of the week, and I
think Sauce Gardner will get more comfortable, he'll get better
within the structure of that defense. It's the first game.
It's some weird turf out there in Germany. It's a
lot of factors, but I love this team moving forward. Man,
there's nothing stop of them. I mean, maybe the Chiefs
could stop any one of these teams come playoff time,
but the Colts are a machine man and they're for
(32:31):
real defensively.
Speaker 6 (32:33):
Well, hopefully we got a Chiefs number coming up, because
they get this by coming up and then they all
they get to concentrate on is playing the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
That's right, man. It's gonna be a fun game.
Speaker 6 (32:43):
Yes, sir, yes, sir. Good and super Bowl I'll give you.
I'll give you that answer that question. I don't have
a If I'm not picking the Colts, then I would
like that Super Bowl to be the Rams. And yeah,
the Rams for sure. And it would be interesting to
(33:08):
see him play the Bills.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Actually, you had to just you had you had to
whisper that out for the Bills.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
I guess I'll take the Bills. No, yeah, just.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
For Stafford, man, I'd love to see him take one
more crack at it. He is just playing out of
his mind right now.
Speaker 6 (33:24):
Yeah, he is. I have nothing against Stafford, So you know,
I'm a.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Feeling you guys might be there the way the Bills
look right now, I think the Bills are in trouble.
I really do. I think offensively, there's some real issues
right there. And people have talked about this all day,
and I agree when Josh Allen it's not perfect. Sometimes
for Allan who else steps up and takes over a
game for Buffalo on defense or on offense. They don't
(33:52):
really have that guy other than Cook, and they're neutralizing
Cook and Allen is a sort of a dual threat.
They got nothing, really, They have no.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
Deep threats digs left, They have no deep threat and
they need to do something about that.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
Yeah, no doubt, man.
Speaker 6 (34:09):
They need to address at her else. They're not gonna
win the Super Bowl. They're just gonna be the same old.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
Bills, some old bills, one game, short day, late dollars,
short bills. Yeah, Bobby, I love it, man, all right,
man at time, call us any day of the week.
Bobby out there in the Upstate is he said the
Rams and Bills would be a super Bowl of choice.
He's a big Colts fan. That's exciting. That's a fun
(34:36):
sort of like we talk about fun rebuilds. Uh.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
The owner Carly urse Gordon, who's been.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
You know, making headlines on the Sideka putting in work
and I love it, man, because it's not people look
at it like, well, if they were losing, people would
yell at her. No, she's it's been well documented. McAfee's
talked about it and others that have been around that team.
She's the you know, daughter of the late Jim Irsay
who owned the team for decad aids, and you know,
she's been around the building for a while. It's not
(35:03):
like you just showed up when dad, you know, passed
away and decided I'm going to put on a coach's headset.
And Mascarade is a head coach. No, she's down there
getting actual data and it's working, and it's not it's
not hurting. I can tell you that right. I don't
know how much it's helping, but it's not hurting. So
it's a good looking team right now. Who is the MVP?
Right now? Y'all can kind of tackle that one as well.
(35:24):
Is it Stafford? Is it? I mean Taylor? Are the
other quarterbacks that you consider?
Speaker 2 (35:31):
Drake may That's where I look at with Jonathan Taylor.
As much as I champion him being the MVP, and
I think he should, the fact that it has become
basically a glorified quarterback award. His biggest competition is a
very young quarterback in Drake May second year, who's putting
up monster. I'm not monster, but I mean he's he's
playing really good football.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
The f stuff isn't remarkable to That's.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
What he's going to have to compete with. And I think, unfortunately,
Drake may might get the edge if it continues on
this trajectory because he is a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Yeah. I about the Chargers too, like we're talking about
Coach of the Year. Yeah, there were some great coaching
performances yesterday, Like Hardball came into that stadium knowing that
the Steelers fans would take over so far. Yeah, he
had them ready. They were flying around on defense. You
showed me there was that one picture of Rogers that
almost got decapitated his face and uh, who was it
(36:28):
was it? Oh gosh, there is not Roman Wilson. You're
other receiver that can Calvin as I go right through
his hands. None of the DKs dropping balls like crazy too.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Yeah, we didn't have the DK conversation because I like
DK Metcalf and I love a lot of things that
he's doing. Great blocker plays through the whistle all that stuff.
Dude needs to find his hands. That's how he's our
lagette right now.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Have you ever watched Coobolean Mack. It's Kabbs Mark Cobolean.
He's got a buddy, is a radio guy named Chris Mack,
and they do a podcast together on on x yeah. Yeah,
and they always do it right after the games. And
so Kaboli is up there in the press box, yeah,
after the game, and he's popping open like an ice
(37:08):
coffee and he's just miserable. I don't know what to
tell you.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
I don't know what's going on here.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
And some of the tweets from some of the Steelers
reporters were like, I hope this is as bad as
it ever gets.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Oh with Rogers, dude, he it was his.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
Worst game I've ever seen him play.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Awful, Dude. He's throwing these weird helium balls where they
were going over people. He was throwing high last night.
I don't know what was well, well, in multiple ways,
I think.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
Yeah, well that's true. Welcome to California.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Yeah, come back.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
I think that that was the worst game he's played
in Pittsburgh, without a doubt. Oh for sure, it might
be the worst game he's played since he's left Green Bay.
And I'm sure you can look back at the Green
Bay stat lines and the box scores and maybe find
one or two games where it felt and like like that.
But it felt like they had no juice whatsoever. No,
the running game wasn't much of a threat.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
Jalen Warren the really good bright spot dude, he did
some good game plays hard Warren did had.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
He had seventy yards and that's good against that defense. Vadal,
I mean you run defense again. I mean, this is
the problem with the Steelers is you're going against a
Chargers team that has nothing on their offensive line. That
would be the game where you if your defense has
to rise up and play four full quarters, if Roger's
going to be running around there like a fifty five
year old man, Yes, that's got to be the game.
(38:26):
And they just cannot. They can't finish games coming.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
Off the week that you just held Jonathan Taylor yep
to under fifty yards yep, and you let vodall all
over Vadal.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
Yeah, Vadal did all the work last night. Yeah, big
win for Jim Harball's Chargers. We'll give you all the
scores here coming up here shortly in the second hour.
A lot to get to, a lot to dive into.
In terms of college football, give you rundown on what's
happening from the top twenty five? What's the most fun
Super Bowl matchup? You could forecast right now? The most
fun eight six four two four zero five four eight zero.
(39:06):
We were back after this on Game on. This is
game on on one O four nine Fox Sports up stack.
(39:31):
Oh yeah, we've heard from Matt, We've heard from Bobby.
We want to hear from you as well. Eight six
four two four zero five four eight zero. Where are
you at? Tim? Come on? How about those Bears? Got bears?
Speaker 5 (39:42):
Got bears?
Speaker 1 (39:43):
Sean at you're cursing the Panthers. What's going on? I
can't tell if you've been a helper a hindrance with
your recent defection from the Commanders. I will say this
that you left.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
At the right time with that team, at least short term. Yeah,
he did, he got out.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
I wonder if he'll be back next year when Jaden
Daniels gets healthy. Flip on back to the Commanders for
you know, a few weeks. See if they do it well.
It must be nice to have two options. We've done
this bit before too. Who would be your side piece team, Like,
if you had to have one Dan Campbell, I mean.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
It's gotta be.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
The Dan Campbell experience was in full for if you
missed it. There was a lot of stuff going on
in that game, including the President of the United States
was in the booth with Fox. I don't care to
talk about that. I have no interest in talking about
a good or bad I'm more interested in the fact
that during that game, Dan Campbell was on the sidelines
(40:32):
with his readers on, which is hilarious, and he's got
his dinner menu out, he's out there calling plays. I
think that's fantastic. I love seeing it. I love seeing
the gump shit with Dan Campbs. You know what this
is slop.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
It's time to.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
Cook up something good, and Uncle Dan took care of him. Man,
Brian Davile has been fired as the coach of the
New York Giants. Uh. That's a shame for him, but look,
that's part of the deal in the NFL. Man, when
you go twenty and forty, you're.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
Yeah, not sustainable.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
It's not it's not sustainable. You will lose your job.
Mike Kafka, who is the offensive coordinator, will take over,
and the Jackson Dart experience will go on and continue
on the playoff standings right now, will break those down later.
But I just keep looking at that AFC North Falco,
and I'm like, they come the Ravens. I mean, like, come, well,
not just the Ravens, it's the Bengals too, true.
Speaker 2 (41:25):
Yeah, yeah, Burrow.
Speaker 1 (41:27):
If you haven't heard by now, Joe Burrow, y'all, he's
been activated and he's out there practicing now. I don't
know if you'll play this week or not, but he's
certainly going to try to maybe give it a go.
The Steelers are five and four right now. You've got
the Ravens sitting right there, one game back, four and five.
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
And we knew that. We just knew it.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
Yeah, we knew it. You knew it. You were talking
about it. Yeah, I knew it looking ahead at what
the Ravens had schedule wise, and then the Steelers. They
had a bit of a gauntlet there. It's funny though,
they beat the Colts.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
You know, that's the one where like cause I knew
I looked at the Chargers and I looked at the Colts,
and I was like, I feel like if I had
to pick, they'd lose to the Colts. Yeah, Shanestyken always
plays it stealers really well yep, and they're they're that
offense is cooking right now. And I was like, they
could probably squeak out a win against Jim Harball. They're
banged up, Like that'll probably be the one that they win.
Speaker 1 (42:20):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
Nope, No, of course not.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
Why would it be Why would it be a big
Monday night game on tonight? It's going to be the
Eagles and Packers. If you have that game on your television,
watch it, enjoy it. If you're a YouTube TV subscriber,
as of this hour, you still don't have access to it. Well,
I love YouTube TV. Also, they keep sending up these tweets, Oh,
(42:44):
go claim your twenty dollars credit? Yeah, yeah, Like why
do I have to go click on something else?
Speaker 2 (42:49):
You should just give it to me and just dump
it into.
Speaker 1 (42:53):
My just credit conducted for my next bill, I have
to go to another link. Yeah, in two, like the
emotional toll this has taken on me.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
Twenty dollars, give me a break.
Speaker 1 (43:09):
Whatever, it's Disney. They got them by the Horns.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
Yeah, you're making me very upset.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
I still haven't broken down and did any sort of
extra purchases.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
You know what.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
Honestly, I tried on the ESPN app. I tried to
go on there. Yeah, and I tried to go ahead
and upgraded this weekend because I'm you know what, this
is gonna be a huge college football weekend. By the
way Clemson wins game Cocks were off. It's a big
win for Clemson getting back on track. More on that later.
But it kept telling me you cannot do this because
of certain restrictions in your area. And then it told
(43:40):
me your subscription is on hold. Please go to iTunes
or the iPhone store and the app store and fix
it there or something like that. And so I go there.
They're like, we have no idea what you're talking about.
It's a pretty apparent on the app store.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
There's up. I have no idea what you're telling you.
But go back to the ESPN app.
Speaker 1 (44:02):
I go to the website and I try to subscribe
to the Elite package or whatever it is, and final like,
you don't want my money, Fine, yeah, you're gonna get this.
Damn hard to subscribe to this slop, but we're gonna
miss the game tonight, Eagles Packers. We got a lineup
change here tonight. We'll tell you all about that when
we come back and game on. Rolls on after this
(44:29):
act for sure? Stadium? Did he have a nickname for
that Citium? You pay him out at Barston?
Speaker 2 (44:35):
What have you got hit by Trump again?
Speaker 1 (44:36):
I'm not taking CJ over the homes. Let me tell
you about Sam darm You gonna have him right now
for a bag of put him and it's Philly's Philly.
I'm just a dumb sports talker, but I love to
sturry up.
Speaker 5 (44:50):
John.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
Oh yeah, baby, the weight is over.
Speaker 4 (44:54):
Well, I got pure octane right now.
Speaker 1 (44:55):
I woke up. I'm ready finally something to argue about.
That isn't your coworker fantasy trade proposal or Bryce Young's height.
It's game on with John Ellis and trade Paully Walnuts
Falco with wal to wall NFL action all season long.
I am the new from first snap to final whistle, rookies,
(45:15):
revenge games and questionable calls and absolutely zero patients for
your power rankings. Yeah, kirked over brought to you by
Ingles Low Prices. Love the savings. Hit the phone lines
at two to four zero fifty four eighty. Let's talk
some football. Here's John Alice. Yeah, bof, We're here for
another hour, getting you ready for a big Monday night
(45:38):
game tonight between the Philadelphia Eagles and those Green Bay
Packers in the most Jekyll and Hide season I can
remember in the NFL. Yere, it's a week to week proposition.
Every single week it's game on johny Let's tree. Paully
Wallots welcome. Hey, we got a little lineup announcement for
you tonight, an exciting wrinkle to the Fox Sports Upstate lineup.
(45:59):
Our good friend Jeremy Green from the Sports Oocracy is
a part of our team. Now he's gonna be bringing
you coverage every Monday Night with overtime. I know. I
started the overtime show a couple of months ago, got
the engine rolling on that. Jeremy has been kind enough
to come on in here and take the torch, yeah
and hold down the fort right. That seven to nine
(46:19):
pm window should be a great show. Jeremy Green Overtime
coming up at seven pm. Y'all tune in and call in.
I think Falco is gonna be.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
Here as well, yeah, I'll be answered.
Speaker 1 (46:27):
Oh yeah, it'll be I'm gonna call in. I'm to
call in his I don't know Bucky from Roebuck. Hey, y'all,
what's going on overtime tonight with Jeremy Green and Trey
Paul Walnuts Falco. That's coming up at the top of
the hour. Our big question of the day is brought
to you by Ingles Markets, Low prices, love the same things,
(46:48):
all right, I don't want to know what the super
Bowl matchup's gonna be. Put the crystal ball away. Tell
me what the most fun super Bowl matchup would be.
We've heard ms, We've heard the Ravens in that mix.
We've seen Detroit's name mentioned. What two teams would you
love to see at the end of the season If
it's not yours? Eight six four two four zero five
(47:10):
four eight zero. I'm becoming increasingly convinced that neither one
of our favorite teams will have enough high octane to
get to that final game of the year.
Speaker 2 (47:21):
I'm just not right now ready.
Speaker 1 (47:23):
It will gives you that No, I don't know Jim
last night, the Steelers and Chargers. A lot of these
games tell you something. It's not just that game they
lose last night with a twenty five to ten I
think it.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
Was something like that. It wasn't even that close.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
Twenty five to ten was a garbage time touchdown by
Calvin Austin.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
I believe, No, it was Roman Wilson.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
Roman Wilson isn't the king of the garbage time touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (47:46):
Said Raccoon Wilson.
Speaker 1 (47:49):
Wilson, he showed up late. Aaron Rodgers looks miserable, he
sounds he does miserable. It is not a team right
now that resembles anything that's ready to go.
Speaker 2 (48:01):
Mike Tomlin, Uh, Mike, I don't know who it was
that asked Mike, Uh, how would you rate uh, you know,
Aaron Rodgers performance, And Mike just looks at him. He goes,
how would you? How about you next? How would you?
Speaker 1 (48:18):
I don't know, you tell me. Brian Daball has also
been uh, yeah, I've been fired right now. And I'm
not laughing at that. I'm laughing at the fact that
the barstool just put this.
Speaker 2 (48:30):
Out that the.
Speaker 1 (48:32):
Thing that yeah, this is what Brian Dayball running into
the tent because he had to watch a single Russe
and Wilson play was an all time moment. Yes, that
will go down is one of Brian Daball's great contributions
to all of us.
Speaker 2 (48:45):
Here and then here comes Scatterby behind him, trying to
help him, coach, trying to coach him through the concussion protocol, folks.
Speaker 1 (48:51):
That's exactly what it looked like and sounded like. Dable
comes running in. What's going on? The Doctor's like, you
gotta leave here. What's going on on? Cam?
Speaker 2 (49:00):
What are you doing in here? Scotti?
Speaker 1 (49:04):
But why are you in here? That's what he said
earlier today. Scatibu might just come back this year.
Speaker 2 (49:10):
I saw reports that he might be the interim head
coach one.
Speaker 1 (49:13):
Oh you love that.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
Oh, I'd love it. It'd be so good.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
Couldn't be any worse, No, it couldn't. He could protect
a twenty point league consistently. I guarantee you that. Oh
my goodness. I saw this video earlier. I have to
make sure it's clean for airplay, but it just came
across my timeline just a few minutes ago. And apparently
it's a video of a Vikings defender named Anthony Barr
uh huh from looks like seven years ago, where he's
(49:39):
talking about the tush push.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
Yeah, yeah, and he's.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
Saying something to the effect his NFL films micd Up
seven years ago, where he's saying, you know, I'd do
something like, you know, get like a big guy behind
a quarterback and push him. This is before the Toushbush
even started, so give the Vikings some credit for that.
The Vikings, on the other hand, with the alter ego
of JJ McCarthy, you know nine, yeah, four plus five
(50:04):
equals nine. They're four and five now at this point.
And McCarthy, I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (50:10):
Trey, I mean it's early.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
I guess.
Speaker 2 (50:12):
You know, he'd be missed all last season, so it's
technically his rookie season. Got some growing pains, but man,
it is not looking not looking too good.
Speaker 1 (50:19):
Yeah, growing pains for sure. As the Vikings lose a
big one yesterday, Peter Schrager is reporting, speaking of the Giants.
Back to that, did a couple of names to keep
an eye on for the Giants' coaching search, which is
still a ways out because they've been an interim head coach.
And Mike Kafka, who's their offensive play caller. Jeff Haffley,
who is the former Boston college coach. He's a New
(50:42):
Jersey native. He was the head coach of Boston College
and now he's the Packers' defensive coordinator, and he's done
a marvelous job with that defense. And this one might
get Chiefs Jay, who just texted me, by the way,
this one might give him a little bit pissed off.
Steve Spagnolo, Oh, the Cheers offensive coordinator, who was the
Giants winning defensive coordinator. He used to be their interim
(51:04):
offensive or their interim head coach at one point. I
don't know if Spags wants to coach again. Yeah, there's
Plasirin graphics.
Speaker 2 (51:13):
Now.
Speaker 1 (51:13):
I don't know if Spags wants to be a head
coach again. Like if if I come to you and
I'm saying, you know what, he's in his sixties right now,
Spags is you can stay there and be the defensive
coordinator with Andy Reid for life, yeah yeah, Or if
you want to go back to the New York market, oh,
and be the head coach of a team that let's
face it, they've had some instability in the front office,
(51:35):
some instability. You got Joe Shane as the GM. You
don't know if he's going to be around or not.
I love the fact they have Jackson Dart. I love
the fact they've got what seems to be a franchise quarterback.
If I'm Spags, I might just sit put in Kansas
City and never take any of these jobs unless I
knew it was pristine, although I will say the Giants
job has some appeal to it.
Speaker 2 (51:55):
Yeah, no, I don't blame I would sit put too.
I do know a guy that I feel like is
pretty highly qualified to be a head coach. I mean,
in fact, he's done it before. And you want to
talk about the corner cent of stability. I mean a
guy like maybe an Arthur Smith could go to you know,
New York. He could leave Pittsburgh. I mean, you know,
he doesn't have to be there. He doesn't have to
stagnate as an offensive coordinator to go to New York
(52:16):
and he could be head coach. He'd have camp Scauta,
move all the tight ends he wanted, He'd have Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (52:21):
Again, I've heard this before. Yes, Arthur Smith a great candidate.
Please go interview. Why you're ready. You might need a
defensive coordinator you would at trelstr y'all take a bus together,
We'll all chip in and pay the fare for it.
Go to Rutherford and interview for those jobs at met Life.
Speaker 2 (52:40):
Please, we're begging you leave chiefs.
Speaker 1 (52:47):
Jay texting in he's not interested talking about spags to
the Giants. I wouldn't be, I Jay, I agree with you.
I don't have any reason to believe he would be
a named lookout for I don't think this has legs,
but I think it's something to keep an eye on.
Maybe if Lane Kiffin ever wanted to make the leap
from college to the pros. You know, he tried it
(53:09):
with the Raiders a long time ago. He's got his
college quarterback there already set. Right, they could go a
number of ways with this coaching search. And you know,
the name John Gruden has been brought up, and you
know John Gruden famously won a Super Bowl in Tampa Bay,
was on the doorstep of one with the Raiders, was
a great analyst for many years with Monday Night Football.
Came back to the Raiders, had some success and then
(53:31):
got in a bit of trouble with some emails that
went out. They were discovered and there's some litigation between
him and the NFL. Right now, that's still pending. That
to me, is the one thing that holds him back,
I think from getting back into the NFL ranks right
now is all that stuff that's going on in the
courts right now between him and the league, and I
think Gruden desperately wants to coach again. I feel like
(53:53):
he's going to go back to college at some point
and take one of these vacancies, whether it's Florida, whether
it's you know, Penn State. I don't know where he
ends up. Speaking of Penn State, what a heartbreaker this
weekend as they turk Frinanda, Mendoza, Kurt Signetti down to
the wire and on one of the great throws and
catches you'll ever see, Indiana gets out of Happy Valley
(54:15):
alive and you know, look that was a scare for
that Indiana team, but you know that's a huge win
in a hostile environment you go on the road. I
love Signetti's energy, I love Mendoza, man. I know it
wasn't all perfect, but he's emerging now. Is that quarterback
that everybody's starting to settle on as the top quarterback
in this draft class. Which makes it so intriguing because
(54:36):
when we looked at all these pff.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
Mock drafts at the beginning of the season. But you
and I did a mock draft. We did.
Speaker 1 (54:42):
Yeah, we had Club Nick going top five. Okate's playing
some better football now. Tigers did a big win against
Florida State. We had sellers in our top ten. Who
else do we have? This is arch I may have
saved that arch many Oh god, if, oh, if you
saved it, Oh my god, if you saved it, well
I'll fill or buster. Why you look for it? But
(55:03):
Mendoza is playing at a high level right now. He's
got great acumen. Ty Simpson's right in that category two.
That's not a player we were necessarily raving about talking
about as being a big draft prospect in the preseason hours.
But here we are into the second half of the
regular season in the NFL, and it very well could
be that Fernando Mendoza is the best available out there.
(55:27):
It's gonna be interesting. Dan Campbell called plays yesterday. We
love seeing that. As the Lions win big cape.
Speaker 2 (55:34):
Club Nick's second overall.
Speaker 1 (55:35):
Do you found it?
Speaker 2 (55:36):
Arch Manning fourth overall, Dear Evans, let's see Garrett and
nuss Meyer fifth overall. Oh boy, the bunch of bunch
of us, wow stealer, bunch of Clemson players to TJ.
Parker was first overall, so Lenora's Sellars was seventh, Drew
Aller was eight.
Speaker 1 (55:50):
And he's to the Colts. Unfortunate injury for him.
Speaker 2 (55:53):
Yeah, let's see, where's the next quarterback, Sam Levitt. That's
what the ye's been banged. Yeah, let's see. That may
be the final quarterback.
Speaker 1 (56:02):
I think we had like five or six going in
the first round.
Speaker 2 (56:04):
Yeah, so that's that's all. That was all the quarterbacks
K Club, Nick arch Manning, Leonora, Drew allerh Yeah, to
be fire.
Speaker 1 (56:14):
That was all of us that our buddy Trevor Sickaman
was doing that. Yes, Max Chadwick, Dalton wasserm and all
of our buddies from PFF for saying the same thing.
And now the tightest turn. We'll do another mock draft,
maybe at the end of this season, definitely at the
end of the season. Maybe we'll do another bonus.
Speaker 2 (56:31):
Mock draft mid season sort of.
Speaker 1 (56:33):
Yeah, what the hell, we'll do that later this week.
We have some time eight six four two four zero
five four eight zero. We're hearing reports of some snow
flourries out there. If you're seeing some of that snow
out there. Let us know where you are. Eight six
four two four zero five four eight zero. We'll hit
a break, come back and start our NFL whip around
where we'll give you all the scores, all the big
moments from a wild Sunday in the National Football League
(56:55):
with one more game to go tonight, and we'll talk
picks too, because Chad Chad the vending Machine team, he's unstoppable.
Speaker 2 (57:02):
Yeah, yeah, he is.
Speaker 1 (57:03):
He's a train that ain't stopping anytime soon. Back with
much more after this game on with John Alice. Heard
everywhere on the.
Speaker 7 (57:12):
Radio, stop sagamine, don't know why, sgabe say don't know?
Speaker 1 (57:46):
Say hello everybody, how you doing. It's uh six twenty
pm here live from the Ingle Studios downtown in Greenville,
where we are searching for some flurries out here. It's
too dark to tell if we're getting a little dusting
of snow out there. Be safe on the road, so
be sure to call us. Eight six four two four
zero five four eight zero. Let us know where you
(58:08):
can scramble to get your milk and bread, because I
got an idea. You go on to Ingles.
Speaker 2 (58:12):
Oh, it's a good place.
Speaker 1 (58:12):
Yeah, head on over to Ingles right now and get
all the milk and bread they have. Just go buy
them out. We've got some flurries in the area. Seriously,
head on over there, get everything you need for the
week ahead. Low prices, love the savings with our friends
from Ingles and Markets. Don't forget we've got a new
addition to our lineup coming up at seven pm. It's
Jeremy Green with overtime. Stay tuned, a lot of football chatter.
It's going to be a good show from seven to
(58:34):
nine pm overtime with Jeremy Green coming up at the
top of this hour. And I was just looking at
some tweets here during the.
Speaker 2 (58:40):
Break handful you sent me were pretty good.
Speaker 1 (58:45):
Well, I mean, this is an actual quote from Jim Harball.
So Jim Harball, when asked about his apparent quarterback Justin
Herbert's ankle injury suffered last night, he said, I do
have an update on his physical status. He is still
a beast, an actual quote from the head coach of
the Charger, right, And he's still a piece absolutely, And uh,
(59:05):
you know he was banged up. Look you look at
him out there playing. I don't know if he'll survive
this season. They're trying to insulate him with a lot
of two tight end sets. Yeah, they're coaching their asses
off right now, doing a good job. But Herbert without
his key offensive lineman in there, without Hampton or Naji Harris,
it's who he's getting banged up every play.
Speaker 2 (59:24):
I was worried when he went down because I looked
at it and I was like, oh, no, yeah, it
didn't look good. And then he was kind of hobbling around,
and even a couple of plays after that, I'm looking
at it. He kind of even on the handoff, which
was like, I think the immediate play after that, I
looked at him as like, oh, he's barely Like yeah,
he looks limited. So then they're taping him up and
I'm like, oh, this could be. Hopefully nothing further happens,
(59:45):
and it, you know, aggravates that through this game. Then
now he's got a little bit of time to rest.
Speaker 1 (59:50):
But yeah, well you hope not. Obviously, he's one of
the fun players in this league to watch. You're a
Steelers fan, you weren't really having a lot of fun
last night at all. No, we were all there. No,
I mean, it was just I mean this other thing.
I reminded my son Andrew about, who knows a lot
more football than probably his old man does. At this point,
he's really down on Bryce Young right now. Ye. Yeah,
(01:00:11):
a lot of the Panthers twitter is right now, they're
really down in this quarterback. And then I just remind him,
I look at some of the box scores. I see
Pinnix passes for twelve of twenty eight yesterday. I look
at Aaron Rodgers stadline until he had that garbage time touchdown. Yeah,
he was like twelve of twenty five for like ninety
one yards two picks. Yeah, And I'm like, son, this
is the league, this is where we are now. Rogers
(01:00:33):
has had better games right at certain points this year
than maybe Bryce has. But it's going to be fascinating
to see. Speaking of quarterbacks, Joe Burrow is back at practice, y'all.
They've got the Steelers coming up Week eleven. Looks like
he's not going to play that game. They're targeting, according
to you and Rappaport, week thirteen, which is a Thursday
night against the Ravens. I believe that is Thanksgiving night,
(01:00:55):
so that ye, that would be the target date to
get Joe Burrow back the rest of their schedule. Steelers, Patreoon.
It's Ravens, Bills, Ravens. That's a gauntlet. That is a
tough stretch for Natty. But if they can get by
your Steelers and Burrow comes back, you just you never know, Oh,
I know, you never know what's head out to the
Engles hot line.
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
Welcome into game, all.
Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
Thy cat? Oh nut?
Speaker 1 (01:01:17):
I know, Chad, Chad, Chad, how you doing, buddy?
Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
Oh man, I'm but heard crying in my beer. All
of the above, you.
Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
Know, not exactly the Panthers performance we were expecting yesterday, Chad.
Not exactly what we had in mind is the Saints
with the worst record in football, the marching into the
town and they march out with a seventeen to seven win.
It was not pretty, man.
Speaker 3 (01:01:46):
How the hell does that happen to?
Speaker 6 (01:01:47):
Big cant?
Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
I do not know the NFL, the NFL. I feel
that was just an awful, awful game, man.
Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
Yeah, it was hard to watch. Jet. Let me tell
you something. I had a feeling, and it's just a vibe.
I had had nothing to do with any inside info,
and I'm not claiming to see I was right. It
was a wild guess, but with all that was happening
this week leading up to the game, with Carolina being
talked about everywhere and then obviously the coach, and I
(01:02:21):
think this had nothing to do with the lost thing
is a funny thing that Rico Dada raised money on
GoFundMe for a charity because he did the two pump
celebration and then Key from Key and Peel shows up
in their meeting room on zoom call and they're having fun.
They make a big social to do about it. He
got Carolina Mike out there singing this Panther's anthem he's
performing live at the game, and I'm in the second
(01:02:44):
quarter watching this game as Tyler Shuck is throwing dots everywhere,
and I'm like, I'm not having fun with any of this.
I'm not having fun with the Keegan Michael Key stuff.
I'm not having fun with Carolina Mike.
Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
These are good.
Speaker 1 (01:02:55):
People, but it seems like it was like almost a
team that just wasn't quite ready to roll. And even
Dave Canellis talked today, he gave them a victory Monday
after the Green Bay game for the first time, He's like,
maybe we had to take those back. Maybe we had
to stop doing victory mondays. Man. They did not look
locked in at all, and they even talked about it
after the game.
Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
Yeah, it was. It was the worst game I've stayed.
I don't know that Patriots game was pretty bad. But
you know, best part of the whole game was the
one hundred and one year old dude coming out all
the field. That. Yeah, that was pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (01:03:32):
That was cool.
Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
Salute the Service Day is always cool. And of course
Happy Veterans Day to all those uh tomorrow who observe
and have served. And absolutely, I mean, you know it,
that was a highlight and it was a well done,
you know show overall. But the football was just such
a lockdown. It was such a good crowd there too. Man.
(01:03:53):
I was there covering the game, and my sons were
there and I popped into the seats with them for
a little bit. It was such a great atmosphere in
terms of the crowd, and the team just looked flat.
And we got to talk about this quarterback. Now we're
gonna have to start having this difficult conversation again.
Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
Man Young ain't the answer. I've said it before, Man Young,
He's gonna win you some games. He might even get
you in the playoffs and win your playoff game. But
he ain't a Super Bowl guy. He ain't getting us
a ring. I don't said it before, I'll say it again.
Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
I don't care who we got, but I'd be looking
for somebody else.
Speaker 1 (01:04:35):
Yeah. I don't see a guy right right now has
enough confidence or acumen to elevate a team to where
they need to go, which is championship caliber. Of course,
you got to crawl before you walk and then walk
before you run. And this team needs to start knocking
on the playoff door. And right now. I mean by
virtue of the fact that everybody lost yesterday that was
ahead of Carolina except for Chicago and Detroit. I mean
(01:04:58):
the Bucks lost, the Niners, low lost, the Vikings lost.
A lot of teams that are relevant to Carolina's playoff
chances also took it on the chin. So it gives
you a chance to stay relevant. But you got to
go to Atlanta this week and you gotta just nut
up and play better football. I mean, it can't look
like that again. That's inexcusable. I give the Saints a
lot of credit. I give Kellen Moore a lot of credit.
(01:05:19):
Tyler Shuck played amazing football and they had one win
all season, Carolina. If they want to be serious about
being a playoff team, it can't look or feel like
that ever again this year.
Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
It can't.
Speaker 3 (01:05:33):
Even Old Camaro, who had a good game. I get
old hot Rud.
Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
Camaro and the antique artillery watching. Hey man, who's your mechanica?
Speaker 4 (01:05:45):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:05:48):
Well, our question question, he said.
Speaker 3 (01:05:54):
We want to see in the Super Bowl teams?
Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
Well for me.
Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
To say the Panthers and the Steelers, just so I
could tell Craft the tray for two. Wouldn't it be
the game man a week.
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
After we beat him three to two, Panthers, that.
Speaker 3 (01:06:13):
Is little doll Craft trade the.
Speaker 1 (01:06:15):
Only no, It would be four to two, the only
Super Bowl ever decided by all safety safeties. It would
be the biggest slop fest ever and we would love it.
America would hate both teams. He'd be like, Yeah, that's right. Finally,
back baby, sit right there and you watch from that
chair in the corner. You watch this slop You're here
(01:06:37):
for it. There's no escape in it. You enjoy this
four to two final. We're playing baseball, baby.
Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
That's probably what it'd be like, dude, Yeah, that's the one.
I still craft the tray and that would be fine.
Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
All right, we got to hit a break, brother. We'll
be here tomorrow for you.
Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
I beg camp man's gonna be own game all tonight
or something going on.
Speaker 1 (01:07:04):
A new lineup change. We're passing the torch through our
good buddy Jeremy Green on that. So Jeremy's gonna be
doing Monday nights now and overtime. Jeremy's a good friend.
He's really good at this and he's gonna be on
with you now for Mondays. And this is gonna be
a real good thing. I'm gonna call in. You should
call into man, Well, I'll do that.
Speaker 3 (01:07:21):
I'll take the new guy plays room for more.
Speaker 1 (01:07:25):
Do it, man, We'll be here with you all night long.
Speaker 3 (01:07:27):
Man, check us out, Hi, big cat straight. We'll be
tuned in likeway we know you there.
Speaker 1 (01:07:34):
He is a loyal fan of ours, a little fan
of everybody's out there. It's Chad the Finney Machine king
uh in the Upstates. I should have asked, Hi, if
you've seen some snow flourries out there? I should have
you seen a few snow flurries kicking around. We'll come
back We'll do our full NFL whip around all the scores,
all the big plays, all the stats from the Sunday
that it was in Week ten of the National Football League.
Getting said for a big old game tonight between the
(01:07:55):
Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles. That is much
more after this on game Come.
Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
On, Hey, I'm State John Ellis. Has you covered?
Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
Yeah, we got it. Game on one oh four point
nine Fox Sports Upstate. Get in on the show at
two four zero fifty four eighty. Oh it's a Monday night.
Speaker 2 (01:08:31):
We're having a good old time with you here.
Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
Come on in and join the party on game on
eight six four two four zero five four eight zero.
Brought to you by your friends at Ingles Markets, low prices,
Love the savings Ingles.
Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
Dash markets dot com.
Speaker 1 (01:08:44):
Check them out online and swipe at Ingles advantage card
at the gas pot. Man, it's a winning formula. I
did the same this morning. You should do the same
all week long. Check them out at Ingles Markets. A
lot to get to here in the world of football.
We got about twenty five minutes a big Monday night
game on tonight. The six and two Eagles are tangling
with the five and two and one Green Bay Packers.
(01:09:05):
We forget that tie. If you're into this sort of thing.
The over under is forty four and a half. Philadelphia
is a one and a half point favorite at the
current moment, and you know what, it's gonna be a
good game. You would think, you would hope. Some of
these primetime games of late have been absolute slop. We
have seen the deepest and the highest this year in
(01:09:26):
terms of games. Our big question of the day, brought
to you by Ingles, is, Hey, which Super Bowl matchup
would you love.
Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
To see the most?
Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
Which would be the most entertaining Hunter Bruce chiming in
on a text line anything with Jamis Winston and I
don't disagree. Jamis is one of those guys that makes
everything fun. We've talked about that there's nothing about the
Jamis Winston NFL experience that isn't at least interesting and fun.
It might not always yield wins, we've seen that. We
(01:09:57):
know that there'll be interceptions, but boy, he's a treat
to watch. He is his coach for the Giants and
the coach of many others for the Giants. Brian Dabole
has been fired today. I wouldn't say that's shocking. It
was a bit of a stunner, but you look at
what got him into hot water. It's blowing some of
these leads. They've had double digit leads consistently this season,
(01:10:21):
and this is where the rubber meets the road. I
do find it strange that Joe Shane continues to remain
the general manager. He will apparently lead the search for
a new head coach full time in the meantime. Who
will take over, Well, that's Mike Kafka. Mike Kafka played
in the NFL for a minute for the Chiefs among
other teams, and he was a member of the chief staff.
(01:10:43):
He's going to be the interim head coach for this team.
So we'll see how that looks. As Jackson Dart has
played some good football he has, I mean, and he's
got a lot of his weapons that are missing right now.
It was a wild weekend in the world of the NFL.
Let's fire up the band and do the full week
ten whip around with one game pending tonight. You still
got this big game tonight, as we mentioned, between a
(01:11:05):
couple teams that don't like each other, and it goes
back to the debut debate dispute if you will, about
the tush push. Yeah, we're gonna see it a few
times tonight, probably as a pact in Eagles Tangle at
eight to fifteen on ABC at ESPN. All Right, NFL
whip around here we go, Falcons twenty five. But the Colts,
(01:11:26):
that's right, thirty one. It was in Berlin. It was
a hell of a game. It went to overtime. Jonathan
Taylor was the story of this one. Friends, listening to
these numbers. We mentioned it earlier in the show. Thirty
two carries two hundred and forty four yards a trio
of tutties, which stands on his own as MVP worthy.
(01:11:49):
That's a consistent stat line for Taylor. Maybe a little
more in this game than we usually see from him,
but he's always hanging around one hundred and seventy hundred
and sixty fifty yards. Michael PITICKX Junior his finest hour
twelve of twenty eight a Bucks seventy seven one Tuddy,
no interceptions, and BISHONN. Robinson was held pretty much in
check by this Colts defense that remains one of the
best in the league. Seventeen carries eighty four yards, no
(01:12:13):
touchdowns the Colts with a huge win and what's considered
a home game, although it was an international contest. Eight
and two on the season. The Falcons are slipping away, friends.
They are three and six, they're one and four on
the road right now, and they've got a contest against
a Panthers team. We'll give you the backstory on what
(01:12:33):
happened yesterday with them in just a minute. Panthers team
coming in at five and five next week in a
must win situation to keep their playoff hopes alive. How
about Drake By, how about Trayvon Henderson? And how about
Mike Vrabel Oh of Vrabe's getting it done again? Man?
They win on the road for the fifth time in
as many chances this season. They moved to eight and
(01:12:54):
two on the season with a convincing win over the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, one of the hottest teams so far
in the NFC, suddenly on a bit of a losing
streak of their own. A bit the six and three
now are the Buccaneers only two and two at home.
Drake may not his best performance, but going against a
defense led by Todd Bowles. Here are the numbers sixteen
(01:13:14):
of thirty one two seventy two tutdies. He had that interception.
Mac Hollins led all receivers with one hundred and six
yards for the Patriots. On the other side, Mayfield had
to throw the ball and had to throw it a
lot because I'm gonna tell you something, this verable defense,
it's among the best in the league.
Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
Stop in the run.
Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
Sean Tucker was the leading rusher for Tampa Bay nine
carries fifty three yards. Mayfield had to air it out
forty three times. He connected on twenty eight of those.
Still threw for nearly three hundred yards. Still threw for
three toutties. Still a tear right now, a Mechagbuka running
away with offensive Rookie of the year. It seems six receptions,
one hundred and fifteen yards and a touchdown. But the
(01:13:53):
Patriots win this game twenty eight to twenty three. They
were eight and two and right there neck and neck
with the Colts and the Broncos and the rest of
the top players in the AFC fighting for that one seed.
And I don't get a lot of things right on
this show. We talk about it all the time. There's
nobody we love to call out more than ourselves. But
it's a feeling I had about this Patriots team a
(01:14:14):
few weeks ago that they could make it to the
super Bowl. They're playing that way, they're stopping the run,
they're running the ball. Drake May looks outstanding, and they're
well coached. Man, They're built for these moments right now.
And we'll see what happens is the Patriots move on
Brown's Jets. Who we have to Mueller, Yeah, we got to.
We got to talk about it. Justin Fields was six
(01:14:34):
of eleven fifty four yards, one tutty, one interception. Breesall
ran the ball twenty one times eighty three yards. He
was also the leading receiver in this game for the Jets,
but in front of a sparse crowd, they still get
the win over the Browns. I would imagine some Jets
fans weren't too happy about that, as they were in
position for the number one pick in the NFL Draft
right now they're still fishing around for that pick. Browns
(01:14:56):
lose again. They're two and seven. The Jets are two
and seven. Dylan Gabe seventeen of thirty two, had a
couple of touchdowns, but again just quite limited in the
passing game, big win for Aaron Glenn.
Speaker 2 (01:15:05):
If you're trying to.
Speaker 1 (01:15:06):
Build a culture there a lot of the teams that
traded guys away this past week ended up getting wins.
We talk about another team that did that in just
a minute, but the Jets. Congrats to those that care
about that game. They win twenty seven to twenty. This
was a big win for the Ravens. We hardly talked
about this game all show long, but it must be
said that they are now one game back of the
(01:15:28):
Pittsburgh Steelers. That's right, one game back of the Steelers.
Twenty seven to nineteen was the final in this game.
They're four and five, as are the Vikings who fell
in this game. And look Lamar playing clean football seventeen
of twenty nine a bucks seventy six one tuddy, zero interceptions.
They allowed the defense to sit back and cook. JJ
(01:15:50):
McCarthy finally had a two hundred plus yard game, but
that's not the formula to be leading the team in
passing yards and rushing yards. They got nothing out of
their run game consistently, and he threw two interceptions in
the game, and that really was the story in terms
of turnovers. Too much to withstand if you're the Vikings,
they are now four and five. That's a big loss
for them, and it's an equally big win for this
(01:16:13):
Ravens team that now moves to four and five, And
like I said, you've still got it all ahead of
you here with a couple of matchups against the Steelers,
one game back and right there where they need to be.
Twenty seven nineteen Ravens win. What's going on in Miami? Well,
I'll tell you something. They're three and seven, but they're
an inspired three and seven. Is Mike McDaniel gets this
(01:16:34):
team to play hard. Their general manager Greer, Chris Greer
was let go a couple of weeks ago, and it
seems like the team is playing hard for their head coach.
Is they get a resounding thirty to thirteen win over
the Buffalo Bills. Bills are now six and three, they're
only two and two on the road. And the Dolphins,
(01:16:56):
you know, with that huge win, Look, they're three and seven.
Do I see the climbing out of a hole and
making the playoffs? I do not, but I think it's encouraging.
Even though Tua did throw a couple of interceptions devon
a Chen twenty two carries one hundred and seventy four yards,
a pair of touchdowns. Josh Allen had to throw the
ball forty times because they stifled the Dolphins, a team
(01:17:18):
that gave up two hundred yards to Reco Dabble a
few weeks ago, a team that has been very, very
sloppy against the run. They allowed James Cook to do
the following thirteen carries fifty three yards, no touchdowns. Outstanding
performance by the Dolphins. Hat tip to them. And you know,
Mike McDaniel, to his credit, drove by this bar last
(01:17:40):
night after the game very intentionally. It seemed filled with
Bill's Mafia fans and did a little hat tip to them.
He's a fun coach when they're winning.
Speaker 2 (01:17:49):
I'll tell you that.
Speaker 1 (01:17:51):
As they moved to three and seven, the Bills are
concerning right now, they are. I mean, what are you
gonna do if Josh Allen can't carry you every single Look,
he was twenty eight to forty three to zero six.
Even his bad games are better than half the league.
But who's out there threatening the safeties? Who is that
(01:18:11):
over the top player in terms of the passing game?
And Joe Brady, Look, the offense looks good when you
got James Cook rolling. The offensive line's been banged up,
the defense has been banged up, and they're starting to
give up the run more and more increasingly throughout the
last few weeks. Should be interesting to study the Bills
over the next few weeks is they've beaten some really
good teams and they lose to the Dolphins yesterday in Miami.
(01:18:33):
How about the Jags? Oh duval, Oh boy, not good. Uh,
you were five and three coming into this game. You're
in complete control of everything. All you have to do
is not allow twenty six points in the fourth quarter
and not score anything. And that's exactly what happened. The
Houston Texans. Shout out to our good buddy Ethan Parsons
(01:18:54):
out there co for Stockton College playing linebacker. He was
convinced his Texans were cooked. We not so fast with
David's Mills stepping in twenty seven to forty five. Two
ninety two had a pair of tuddies Woody marks. That's right.
The rookie out of USC had fourteen carries sixty three
yards in a touchdown. Nico Collins was cooking again, and
(01:19:15):
once again, Trevor Lawrence, I go back to what I
talk about all the time.
Speaker 2 (01:19:19):
About the Texans defense.
Speaker 1 (01:19:21):
They gave up a lot of points in this game,
but at the end of it, it was really about
the pass rush, the run contained, the ability to hold
a ten to fifty eight yards. Lawrence was thirteen of
twenty three, one fifty eight in the air, had an interception,
had a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (01:19:36):
Folks.
Speaker 1 (01:19:37):
This score of this game heading into the fourth quarter
was twenty nine to ten in favor of the visiting
Jacksonville Jaguars. The final score was thirty six to twenty
nine in favor of the Houston Texans. As there's a
pick six at the end of the game. It was
an impressive win for Houston and a colossal collapse. We've
seen a couple of these games this year around the league.
(01:19:59):
Remember the Roncos and Giants, one of the many games
that got Brian Dabole presumably fired. They blow a similar
lead like this. That's astounding to see that fourth quarter
box score there, but off they go. Jacoby Myers was the.
Speaker 2 (01:20:11):
Leading receiver for the Jags.
Speaker 1 (01:20:14):
They newly acquired Jacoby Myers three receptions forty one yards.
Texans are now four and five. They're still hanging around,
still battling. I would not rule this team out. I
know Stroud is still in a.
Speaker 2 (01:20:25):
Concussion protocol as of this morning.
Speaker 1 (01:20:27):
If he can work his way back in the lineup,
or if Davis Mills can play at that level, I
think they can probably steal a wild card if they
can go on a run here. The Jags, on the
other hand, as part of being a rookie head coach
in this league, you go through moments like this. I
still like their team as a whole, but they've been
banged up. Brian Thomas Junior did not play in this game.
Travis Hunter's been banged up. See where they go from
(01:20:48):
here and the one o'clock window as well. The Giants
who mentioned this game yesterday against dub Bears, Oh yeah.
They build up a lead in the first half, ten
to seven, and a half time, they extend the lead
in the third quarter. They're up seventeen to ten going
to the final quarter. No fear Bears fans shout out
to Tim out there. Twenty four twenty was the final
(01:21:10):
as Caleb Williams with another clean game twenty of thirty
six two twenty in the air, one touchdown, no interceptions.
They had a good running attack with Swift and a
nun guy was in there. Swift had thirteen for eighty
no touchdowns. Romadunze finally got involved as his dad was
complaining on social media that, hey, when you get it,
myke son some touchdowns, Well they got him one yesterday
(01:21:32):
eighty six yards on six catches. Jackson Dark again, you
can't blame him. Dark Is played some good football nineteen
of twenty nine. Two forty two did not have any
touchdowns but no turnovers in that game, and Tyrone Tracy
played pretty well in relief of cam Skataboo. But the
Bears with a vital win at home in some plustery
(01:21:53):
little snow involved in that game. Two conditions six and
three are the Bears right now? Giants fall to two,
two and eight. And now the news comes down today
we mentioned it to you. Their head coach Brian Dable
has been terminated.
Speaker 2 (01:22:06):
He has been let go.
Speaker 1 (01:22:07):
And finally in the one PM window, it was not pretty,
ladies and gentlemen. It was not one you'd want to
attend in person. I did it because I'm the ultimate professional,
and I do it for the job. It's a pleasure
to cover NFL football. Number I have bit bad. It
might be my sons were in attendance. Not so much
for them and the rest of the seventy thousand Panther
faithful in Bank of America Stadium. It was a great
(01:22:29):
crowd and they were treated to a seventeen to seven slopfest.
That's right, Tyler Schuck. Here's what I'll say about this
game before we hit the brig.
Speaker 2 (01:22:38):
Great on him. He played some good football.
Speaker 1 (01:22:40):
Nineteen to twenty seven, two eighty two, two touchdowns, zero interceptions.
The first rookie quarterback to win a game for the
Saints since nineteen eighty one. That's right, nineteen eighty one.
I was one year old in nineteen eighty one. But
they get it done. Kamara looked good yesterday too. Twenty
two carries, eighty three yards. Carolina still holding opposing rushers
(01:23:03):
to under one hundred yards. It's been a theme this year,
but again, Bryce Young, with these numbers, you're not going
to travel far in terms of real playoff acumen or
potential if you're going seventeen of twenty five a buck,
twenty four, no tuddies, one interception.
Speaker 2 (01:23:20):
They loaded the box.
Speaker 1 (01:23:22):
They play a lot of tight man coverage yesterday and
Dowbell could not find the creases. It was an exceptional
game by the Saints. I give them more credit than
I crap on the Panthers for it, because honestly, they
showed up and they played hard. They tackled, they filled
their run fits, they did everything they had to do,
and they covered well too, with the exception of maybe
one play on the other side of the ball where
Chris Alabe, who made some great catches in this game.
(01:23:44):
In fact, he went five for one oh four with
a tuddy in this game. He had a blatant push
off on J. C. Horn, but they don't call it.
It didn't happen, and that's what happened in this game.
Saints are now two and eight.
Speaker 2 (01:23:56):
Good.
Speaker 1 (01:23:56):
They get their first road win of the entire season. Pam,
there's a suddenly back to five hundred and five and five.
They are three and two at home this season, with
those two losses coming in their last two home games
against Buffalo and now the Saints.
Speaker 2 (01:24:10):
It's an unpredictable league, kids.
Speaker 1 (01:24:12):
You just never know what's gonna unhatch every single week
in this damn league. We'll look at the rest of
the four o'clock slay Boy there were some blistering performances
from some of the great teams in the NFC. Yesterday,
did the forty nine Ers survive the Seahawks? Well, here's
a hint, No they didn't. We'll tell you how that
game went. And Dan Campbell calling plays yesterday, Oh yeah,
(01:24:35):
taking the bull by the horns and saying, you know what,
I'm gonna call these plays myself, Big Dan. We'll review
what happened in all those four pm window games and
last night slopfest between the Chargers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This is Game on. I'm your boy, John Eless. You
got Trey Paul Waltnut's Falco in the house as well.
We'll hit a break, come back and wrap up this
edition right after this. This is Game on on one
(01:24:59):
o four nine Fox Sports. Up Standing, Get in on
the show at two four zero fifty four eighty or
hit us up on Twitter at one oh four nine
Fox Sports. Oh yeah, coming down the home stretch here,
it's John Elwis, It's Trey pauli Waldo's Falco. It's Game on.
How we doing here Live from the Ingle Studios downtown Greenville,
(01:25:20):
going through the little NFL whip around here. We've caught
an audible here because we have a new show coming
up at seven pm. It's overtime with Jeremy Green. Stay
tuned for that. In about seven minutes you'll hear they're
great Jeremy Green on your air every single Monday night.
But Trey was running around doing a few things production wise,
getting ready for the big debut tonight for mister Green.
And we've done the first time in this show's history,
(01:25:41):
we've done a little roll over. So where you're sitting
in my chair feels so weird.
Speaker 3 (01:25:44):
It does.
Speaker 1 (01:25:44):
Done it. And I'm sitting here and I've got full
command of the board, as I do from time to
time if if you've been out here or there with
your kids are on vacation.
Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
But it's very rare where that happens.
Speaker 1 (01:25:54):
And now I'm like, oh, talk about being stuck in traffic.
I get to hit all there on the stage. You
gotta know what a crump it is on the stain.
Speaker 2 (01:26:07):
I got control the board. There's a bunch in there.
Speaker 3 (01:26:09):
There he is.
Speaker 2 (01:26:11):
We're all the fans see. I gotta get in here,
and I've just got to memorize all this. You're so
quicks I don't even have a memorized put your hand.
Speaker 1 (01:26:18):
Down and go to work.
Speaker 4 (01:26:19):
It's about to be fun. It doesn't matter if you
have one ass chicken three tones, right.
Speaker 1 (01:26:25):
I won't make some drawer headed a deep cut, deep cut.
We got a couple of minutes left. Let's continue with
our NFL whip around here. And Faco was talking a
minute ago about what's been going on with some of
these night games. Oh yeah, with this rob like the
member of the Thursday Night Game. I didn't even cover
that one because intentionally I skipped you ten to seven, Broncos.
Speaker 2 (01:26:46):
There you go, slap. And some of the blown leads
this season have been a theme.
Speaker 1 (01:26:51):
No blown lead for the Seahawks forty four to twenty
two winners over the Cardinals and quietly going under the
radar although he only threw it twelve times yesterday. Sam
Darnold has been playing at an MVP level. They're capitalistic
on defense. Jacoby Brissette played well, but that's just a
demoralizing loss for Arizona, who thought they were back in
(01:27:11):
this thing, and the Seahawks. It's seven and two right now. Look,
the Mike McDonald express is rolling on by friends.
Speaker 2 (01:27:18):
They might be the real deal this team going into
the season, it's like, oh, you know, I don't know
what to make of the Seahawks. Now I'm looking at
it like, yeah, they look pretty good.
Speaker 1 (01:27:25):
Sound good over there? That Mike sucks good on it,
like hot Mike turn ladies. All right, there we go
Rams and forty nine Ers decisively. The Rams take with
this one. They're seven and two, four and one on
the road. The forty nine Ers, I think Tray are
finally hitting that stumbling block right now. Yeah, and you're
his tuch back.
Speaker 2 (01:27:43):
To date with the injuries, I did think they'd put
up at least a little bit more than the fight.
But then you got Matt Stafford just bawling out. There's
nothing you need to do, There's nothing you could do there.
Speaker 1 (01:27:51):
This is another one in the forties who was a
forty two to twenty six win, and they they just
keep they keep pound, they keep moving on. And now
you've got a situation where the Niners are going to
fight for an absolute chance at a playoff berth in
the wild Card.
Speaker 2 (01:28:06):
They've got the Panthers in two weeks on Monday Night.
Keep an eye on that one. Kids.
Speaker 1 (01:28:09):
The Lions.
Speaker 2 (01:28:10):
Oh, here we go.
Speaker 4 (01:28:11):
It doesn't matter if you have one ass cheek and
three toes, I.
Speaker 1 (01:28:13):
Will beat your oun Hey, you just thing now forty
four to twenty two winners over the Commander's commanders are
completely screwed. Yeah, I mean they they're depleted on defense.
They've got nothing in terms of a defense whatsoever. And
Dan Campbell, by the way, absolutely it.
Speaker 4 (01:28:29):
Doesn't matter if you have one ass cheek and three
to absolutely.
Speaker 1 (01:28:32):
Took control of the play call and calls his BTA, BTA.
Speaker 2 (01:28:37):
That's absolutely right. Just he what Tony Romo said yesterday.
It stands the T stands for technical, Yeah, d T.
And you figure the rest out.
Speaker 1 (01:28:47):
What is that short circuit?
Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
Tony Romo?
Speaker 1 (01:28:51):
And finally, our last game of this whip around Steelers Chargers,
Now let's lift this one again. With a few box
score notes. The score was three to two after the
first quarter. Steelers were up in this game, but then
they got to the second inning and the Chargers put
up ten runs. Charges win this one twenty five to ten.
Aaron Rodgers sixteen of thirty one a Bucks sixty one
(01:29:14):
two interceptions. Don't let that box score full of your kids.
Half that yardage happened in the final driver, so I did.
Speaker 2 (01:29:19):
Yeah, it's we're finally at the halfway point of washed quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:29:22):
Yeah yeah, and Herbert ankles were taped up. It wasn't pretty,
but he throws for two hundred twenty yards, butdal goes
for another ninety five because why lad mcconkee looks like
a better pick than Xavier.
Speaker 2 (01:29:34):
Look get right about now?
Speaker 1 (01:29:34):
Yeah, yeah, we're all suffering together through it. That's your
NFL whip around, don't forget. Coming up next, it's our
good friend Jeremy Green with overtime. It's a brand new
show here on one O four nine Fox Sports Upstate.
Trey Facco will be along for the rag. I'll call
up the Ingles hotline and joined Jeremy in the gang
eight six four to two four zero five four eight zero.
Speaker 2 (01:29:53):
Don't forget.
Speaker 1 (01:29:54):
Tomorrow the Richmond Weaver Show gets us kicked off at
three pm, and your boy John Ellison and Trey Falco
we are back together at five pm for another round
of Game On. For everybody here at Fox Sports Upstate,
it's Johnny Trey. Y'all have a good night and we'll
see you tomorrow five pm for another round of Game on.
