Trey Polly Walnut's falcon.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Well, Well, how about it, ladies and gentlemen. What a
weekend it was in the world of football. It's football
Monday here on Game On. Good to be with you.
It's your boy John ellis back at home base as
I am on the road. Spoiler alert. I'm gonna tell
you where in just a minute. Back at home base,
there's Polly Walnuts Falco. How you doing, big boy?

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Well, you know, if the Steelers could figure out what
their defense is doing and beat the Chicago Bears would
be a lot better.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
But hey, I'm here. Yeah, and by the way, you know,
give yourself a round of applause here you have turned
a year older. Happy belated birthday, Thank you, Carrie Falcon. Yeah, man,
I don't feel to be thirty whatever, what are you?
Thirty four? Now? Thirty two? Two? Don't go ahead of here,
how much I care?

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Well, happy birthday, man. You're a big Steelers fan. I
know that was hard to watch yesterday. We're gonna cover
everything in our weekly in all whip around, all the games,
all the scores, all the things that mattered, and boy,
a lot of things mattered yes day. We're on the
road today, and Trey, I want to say we've been
on the road all day. I was in Spartanburg earlier
today at the seventeenth actually nineteenth Danuel Ellison Bradley turkey fry. Yeah,

(02:17):
up there at Miracle Hill and it was fantastic. Oh
always look good. They always smell delicious. Yes, selfishly, I
would love to take one home. But this, of course
is for Miracle Hill and a great cause and yeoman's
work by all of our partners here at iHeartRadio, but
in particular the Yellis and Bradley show, who had been
doing this falco for nineteen big ones. That's really hard

(02:38):
to believe, man, And you've been a big part of
these two over the years.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
I've done a few of them. Yeah, they're a lot
of fun. It's uh, it's really great for the community.
Like it's a good feeling to go out there and
know that these turkeys are actually going towards something. It's
not like they're trying together going out there like, oh,
we're gonna try cook as many turkey as we can
to set a record, right right, Like it actually something Yeah, Yeah,
it means.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Sights, it means something. It's a legacy piece and certainly
a lot of good people were behind that, So it
was great to stop by and see all the gang
from iHeart from our friends at Miracle Hill. Just a great, great,
great thing. And they're still out there right now. Meanwhile,
your boy John Ellis Trey took the hike up E
eighty five.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
I find myself at an establishment that I would highly
recommend if you're in this area, Clutch Kitchen and Poorhouse.
It's where we do our weekly tailgate shows for iHeartRadio
Zone ninety nine point seven, the Fox, the flagship at
Carolina Panthers. And I'm here because well, I wanted to
be here Number one, number two. The Carolina Panthers have
a monumental game tonight Trey on the road against the

(03:38):
San Francisco forty nine ers. We have a big party
going on right here. It's going to be kicking off
here shortly. So if you happen to be I know
most of our listening audience is in the Greenville Spartanburg area.
If you happen to be listening this to us on
the iHeartRadio app like some do, if you're near Clutch
downtown Charlotte, come on down and see us because it's
going to be a party and With that said, let's

(03:59):
bring in a very special guest, a special voice, a
very special man in my life. Trade no, no offense
to you, buddy, but this guy is like a Philadelphia
fan by heart. He's been all over the map. He's
worked for the great station up there in Minneapolis. It's
Eric E. Whit, the star of ninety nine seven, the
Fox and of all other entities with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 7 (04:18):
Welcome out of the program, you White. I just appreciate
you calling me a special man in your life. That
means it means a ton to me.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I'm gonna you're a special man. Thank you.

Speaker 7 (04:26):
That's sounded a little creepy to hey. You know, it's
all good. No, all good vibes for sure. I certainly
not good vibes for myself being a Philadelphia Eagles fanny yesterday.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Is what it is.

Speaker 7 (04:35):
I've seen plenty of elise of the cowboys.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
That one hurt. I'm not gonna lie the hell was that?

Speaker 7 (04:39):
I you know what, It's so funny. I texted my
dad around halftime and he's like, you know, losing his mind,
go birds all the text and everything like that, you know,
as you do. And then I text him again around
you know, right as the game finishes up, and I
still have yet to hear from old Manny White today,
so you know, we're a little feel worried about Yeah,
you know, I might have to go a house call
make sure he's our check with the neighbor as well

(05:01):
as yeah, yeah, make sure he's walked out the door today.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Oh man, that was a tough one for sure. Daff
guys are so spoiled. I was talking about this tray
before the show. But between my Eagle friend over here,
by the way, is my co host on the Tailgates
Show for the Panthers Radio Edwards ninety nine seven, the Fox,
big Philly guy, big Eagles fan. You're a Genser Falco.
You love the Steelers. I'm telling you, I can't decide

(05:25):
who's more spoils a fan base. I think I hate
to do this to you. What but no, you're.

Speaker 7 (05:32):
Not like this tree. I mean, go ahead, I mean
good enough. Well, yeah, name a name a Pittsburgh person
that's ever happy about it. First of all, living in Pittsburgh,
you gotta do that. You're already growing up on the
wrong side of state. Oh it's the second of all,
you know, it's seriously, you can't be happy for anything.
I mean, you've had plenty of Super Bowl in six rings.
We always talk about the six rings. Yeah yeah, but

(05:54):
they were recent enough. But come on, they're like ten
twelve years.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
It's got the cheese steak. I feel like it evens
out he listen.

Speaker 7 (06:02):
I mean, here's the thing. I do talk a lot
of smack on Pittsburgh. I do love, do not love
an ice trip to Promanti brothers. Don't get me wrong. Yeah,
I mean listen to Cale and.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Guy.

Speaker 7 (06:12):
That's just me as a person. But you know that's
you know, everybody's got their own thing. But yeah, man,
I mean, like, listen, it's a you know, it's a
beautiful city.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
But yeah, I would think they're a little bit more spoiled. Man.

Speaker 7 (06:21):
On top of that, they got the Penguins, I mean,
the Pirates. We don't got to talk about. They got
the Penguins.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Got that. You know.

Speaker 7 (06:27):
I've we've got a horrible hockey team. The hockey team
has never been great, that's true, seventy five. You know,
the Sixers haven't won since eighty three. The Phills keep
on breaking my heart. So I don't know, I think
they're a little spoiled out there and we charged.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
By the hour for therapy or you know that I
play down on the counts, right, doctor? Can I get
the firelin out? I'm a I'm a Charlotte guy. I
need a prescription. Please, thank you. Let me tell you
what I've been through. We talked about this earlier on
the Tailgate Show trade. Did you know here's a fun
Factor today? You new a brand new on the flight
bit here on game on fun Fact. Today's rock to
you me? All right, here we go. Guess how many

(07:03):
days it's been, Trey Falco since my Carolina Panthers, the
Upstates Carolina Panthers had been in first place by themselves
after October. Guess how many days it's been since eleven hundred?
You're about two thousand, five hundred days. Short, yikes the
last time. And by the way, Panthers tonight against the Niners,
if they win for the first time since January third,

(07:26):
twenty sixteen, they'll have first place by themselves after October.
That's three thousand, six hundred and sixteen days ago. Trey Falco,
I believe you were about five years old.

Speaker 7 (07:40):
About yeah, was Oh my goodness, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
So when I hear the discourse out there. I love fans,
and I I've had a long tenured saying I don't
tell people how to fan, but I'm gonna point out
when it's absurd Philly fans, and a lot of it's
fueled by guys like Mike Greenberg and First Take. Even
when it's good and you're winning, it's like a self
fulfilling prophecy. They come, ah, here, get up time, my

(08:06):
Greenberg and the Eagles seven and two, But what's wrong
with Eagles? They spend an hour on what's wrong with Eagles?
And then when the Cowboys come to play the Eagles,
it's like brain rot on steroids. It's like we can't
get enough airtime on that morning block to cover nonsense.
It did turn out to be a great game, but
I think I've cracked the coat on this tree and

(08:27):
eat both of you. I think the most miserable fans
in terms of just perpetual ads, never gonna happen again.
We're screwed. It's it's Pittsburgh Billy. Billy fans are the craziest. Yeah,
well we're nuts and we're batteries of people. Yeah, we
throw batteries of people snowballs and Santa Claus. I've never personally,
you know what I mean, back and forth if if instigated,

(08:48):
if you will, but you know, naturally, it's like, I
keep my beer in hand and I just like, let's
have to get.

Speaker 7 (08:53):
I was gonna say, I spent money, you know what
I mean?

Speaker 2 (08:55):
You know, yeah, I mean, oh my goodness.

Speaker 7 (08:58):
That was the thing, you know, a couple of years,
a couple of years back when they won the chip
in eighteen, hearing about throwing beers at like ninety year
old grandma's I'm like, all right, so down fellas, and
it's all right.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
I love the fact that it's it's now painted as
a term. It's oh yeah, got a lyric Philly.

Speaker 7 (09:13):
They're so wonderful because they've never heard Fillion endearing in
the same sentence.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Oh. But the narrative is that this long last Philly
gets their chip after thirty five years of booing Santa
and booing a crippled Michael Irvin and throwing batteries at
ninety year old women. Hey listen, good for you guys.
They finally did it.

Speaker 7 (09:32):
That wasn't the real Santa all right? He pulled he
was Yeah, I was gonna say, serious Clark old on,
we don't even doing that. But no, I mean, hey, listen,
it's it was a I will say it was a
painful existence. I for my poor father, I would say anything.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
You know.

Speaker 7 (09:48):
My dad was seven years old when they won back
in sixty and he couldn't watch it because it was
blacked out in the suburbs. So like you listened on
the radio for the damn thing and then all of
a sudden, you know, back when they won back in
the Super Bowl fifty two. I mean, I I can
only imagine that my dad cried less when I was born.
You know, I think the most of my dad ever
cried was when the Eagles won the Super Bowl. And
I'll stand by the YEA top six, top seven, I'll

(10:13):
take it seriously. If I if I sneak into the
top five, that's a win, man.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
But no, it's the dad crying. Power rankings were okay,
Eagles were number one when they won it. The second
one they was like number four the Fills back in
eighty when Eric, when you when you came out of
your mother's womb, and you're like, I said, put you
twenty fourth, top twenty five.

Speaker 7 (10:34):
Man, it's too funny. But yeah, man, it's a it's
a weird existence man. But you know what, it's so
funny because I think, you know, there is a level
of kindred spirit I feel with Panthers fans because for
the longest time there was a weight, whereas with Steelers fans.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Nah, they didn't need a weight.

Speaker 7 (10:49):
You know what I mean. I was gonna say, it's
like they've been they've been chilling. So you know, I know,
no offense, Pauli.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
But seasons with all due offense will so be that
terrible tale hanging in my studio. It's a gross it's
part of the reason. I'll tell you what. Here's another
fun fact for you that he should know, and maybe
you do know. The last time the Carolina Panthers defeated
the Pittsburgh Steelers in a football game was the year
nineteen ninety six. Yeah, the more you don't want to

(11:18):
know about six months one. I meanteen, I was a
teenager the last time it happened. Yea, plus TJ. Watt
ruined Cam Newton's career or that dumb helmet. So every
time I got PAULI, I see a great friend and
somebody I want to strangle, you.

Speaker 7 (11:34):
Know, but isn't that the balance of life. That's just
how life is. Man's Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Well, with all that said, the theme of the day
is the Carolina Panthers are in the middle of it now.
The trade we talked about this last week as we
made our picks. It looks like Chad the Vining Machine
King once again had a stellar week. As always, he's
got the Biff Almanac. I don't know what's going on. Yeah,
I you know what, there's something to it. We got
to get an n CUAA investigation going to that one.

(11:59):
Some fascinating storylines, including we mentioned the Panthers. I'm here
in Charlotte today live from uptown to the place called Clutch.
You guys know it well if you're from this neck
of the woods, if you're listening to us in the upstate,
and you've got friends that are out here in Charlotte,
we're gonna have a big watch party coming up with
iHeartRadio in ninety nine point seven the Fox. Please come
see us. But that's what brings me here today and Trey,

(12:20):
I'm literally doing a radio show with my buddy E
White and with you looking at the skyline of my
favorite city from my youth Charlotte, where I was born,
and I'm looking at the empty Bank of America Stadium
in front of me and I you know, we talked
about our love of radio and Friday A serious note. Look,
I'm forty four years old. I couldn't be happier right
now in this moment. Say dream to just be sitting

(12:41):
here talking sports long form and just hanging out in
my favorite neck of the woods. Then, Dan boy, how
about that? Let's pivot back to the games yesterday? What
a strange yeah? But how did we bury the lead here?
First of all, big question of the day by our
friends at English Markets, low prices, love the Savings? Are

(13:04):
the Chiefs all the way back? Do you fear them? Again?
Is the team to beat in the AFC? Or is
it a mirage? And the second question is as followed,
Jameis Winston he's fun two four zero five four eight zero.
That ain't a question, John, I know, it's a statement.
We'll get to the Chiefs in a minute. But the

(13:24):
lead here is, Oh my god, Jameis Winston. Hey, holy crap,
Jameis Winston. What a performance?

Speaker 7 (13:29):
The three quarter MVP? Baby, he's good for three quarters
every year for an MVP performance and just finds his
way on rosters.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Man he does, he does everything to make us happy. Now,
if he's my quarterback, I might get frustrated at times.
We saw that in Tampa Advance. It's a fun rebuild
because you have got Dart and the Wings. Wait, and
you got Cam Scataboo. By the way, dude, can we
queue up? I know, I know yesterday. Let's talk about

(13:59):
this game that has implications. The Lions were on the ropes.
As is, this season has been all year for teams everywhere,
no predictability whatsoever. The Lions were on the ropes against
the New York Giants, who have an interim head coach.
They have no Cam Scataboo, no Jackson Dart. Jamis Winston
comes in, does a pregame speech and says, among other things,
hey y'all, we're outside, but we're inside. The kid's got

(14:25):
like two brain saws, rubbed them together, hoping for the
best between him and Scataboo. It's it's like the CTE Masters.
I was gonna say, dancing CT Scar dancing with the
ct Stars after retirement Scataboo, Jamis Fontes perfect. That's too deep.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Oh, that's too deep.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
I throw like, uh, if you get Rex Ryan in there,
maybe probably sexy Rex a couple in there.

Speaker 7 (14:54):
Mark Asteno, that's a little sad though he.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Wants his sack. That's only wants to sack. So back
to this game, Jameis Winston is a beauty. I'm watching
Red Zone yesterday because the Panthers were off and I
had the luxury of actually being a football fan on
Sunday and now an analyst. Same for Ue. We were
just able to chill. I'm catching the game early, and
the first thing I noticed is Winston, among other things,

(15:18):
throws this lollipop. It was basically a moonball that hung
in the air for about I'd say ten seconds. It
wasn't that long. A pass like thirty five yeards and
Wandale Robinson sits down like an outfielder and catches it.
He's got some sort of sixth sense about him, but
nothing tops what he did yesterday when they run a
little Philly special and Winston's leaking out of the backside

(15:41):
in this poor les, poor soob. I don't know who
he is, but we gotta find out who the linebacker
was that got mossed by Jameis Winston not only most fellas,
but then stiff armed and Jamis had fifteen yards to go,
fifteen to go. He Wow, he waltzes into the end
zone like Calvin Johnson and he's there doing the Harlem shape. Ye,

(16:03):
its best life. Oh my god, Hey, you and I
talk about Jamis all the time. That might have been
a top five moment in the Jamis Lexicon. I was laughing.
I was on the floor rolling, laughing.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
The only thing I want is if the Steelers don't
go out and get a quarterback next year, drop Aaron Rodgers,
please bring Jameis Winston to the steel City.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
I would love to watch that.

Speaker 7 (16:21):
The energy would be insane, Seriously, electricity.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
He's the perfect backup because he'll give you two or
three really good games. Oh yeah, and he gives you content.
Uh huh.

Speaker 7 (16:30):
The social team has to look in the seriously. I'm
just I'm just waiting from the leaning into the krab
legs content again. One of these days he's gonna feel
comfortable about that. I don't know when, but one day
it will, and it will be right now.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Yeah, the perfect partnership is going to be cam scattered,
But with Jameis Winston some type of podcast where it's
do you put the goba on the taco?

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Or do you put the taco on the top of
Monster Energy?

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Boy, you want to go sell it? And then jamis
with you know the says crab legs from your local
seafood market. Do we have the audio and you can
keep our MIC's hot on this. We want to chuck
over the good stuff. This is cam Scantaboo, our daily
offering of Cam Scantaboo, one of the cerebral men in
our entire profession of sports.

Speaker 7 (17:16):
Here do you like turn your head to eat a
taco or do you turn the taco for you?

Speaker 8 (17:26):
Like?

Speaker 5 (17:26):
Are you dominant to the taco or the taxo?

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Like?

Speaker 7 (17:29):
Do you turn your head for the tacos for you?
This is a wild take. Also you that you turn
what he goes.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
It's about the dominance of the taco though, like if
you're not, if you're turning the taco, you're dominating the taco.

Speaker 7 (17:47):
Is that fair conversation? So great, that's a fair take.
Also like if you turned it, sorry now I'm like
my brain, let's get you have to turn you listen
Sometimes you crank that solgible and other times soldier boy
crank you and in this case you got to turn
for the taco.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Dude, did you make a mess? Then? Yeah, that's right.
PG show. It is a PG show oftentimes thirteen Sometimes
we have to get a ruling on that. I think
Scataboo is great as far as the Lions go. Look,
that's what makes this game so fascinating. The whole NFL.
This season's fascinating because what steals the headlines and show

(18:26):
is genus. But the Lions, give them credit, they're still clunky.
I'm not sold on Jerry Goff after these recent performances.
They've found a little something in terms of inside pressure
on him. It affects him. They've had some injuries in
the secondary. Obviously you've had some injuries on the offensive line.
But that was a big win if they had lost
that game, Pauli, you're talking about them along with some

(18:48):
other teams out there that are in real danger of
missing the playoffs. I think they're they're kind of back
in the hunt at this point. He get I know, Dan,
I know you're gonna be fine. Not so much for Philly.
We started the show with Philly, and I have to
be honest with you, I prepped for this show, unlike
anybody with the NFL stuff. In particular, I had to
step out of the house for about twenty minutes to

(19:10):
run to the store, and I was listening to, you know,
serious exam or something. I just getting the updates on
what the scores were, and so I'm not seeing this
visually because it was pretty much an afterthought. I think
if it was up twenty one nothing at some point,
then I hear it's twenty one fourteen, and then I see,
all a sudden, the game is tied and the Eagles
end up losing twenty four unanswered for the Cowboys guys,

(19:30):
and all of a sudden, Dallas has life at five
five and one. They seem to have a defense that
plays together, that works. Philly eight and three. That's what
everybody wants to lead with, and we'll get to them.
But Paul, you know, the owner always talks about what
he's looking for, what I want. He found it in
the way of twenty four unanswered points, and all of

(19:52):
a sudden, there at five hundred and Trey all turner
to you first man, this is an absolute big time
win for Dallas. It's a big loss for Phil and
we'll get to the dynamics behind. They're stagged at play
right now, but Dallas has got a fighting chance right now.
They do.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
And they're at the perfect Dallas Cowboys record right now
at five five and one even straight across the board.
And that about sums up this year. How about George
Pickens balling out?

Speaker 2 (20:17):
How about your former receiver there, He's finally found him
a quarterback that's not named Kenny Pickett or Mason Rudolph
for him, because Steelers, I'm never going to.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
Unilda Yeah, Duck Hodges, Yeah, Steelers are never going. He
was never get a ball out like that in Pittsburgh
because we're too afraid to throw like that as well.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
But like Harry, he don't care. I'll tell you what
works in Dallas for Pickens. They throw the ball with
twenty first century concepts. I was watching yesterday with your Steelers.
I saw, I literally saw the thing you've been complaining about,
dating back to the Matt Kennedy's Where do you see
the jet sweep to Januz Smith in the red zone.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
That's almost as bad as the new jet sweep is
the toss, the toss to the running back, except we
would toss the Nagierias who's already running with singer blocks
and his shoes.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Do you turn to toss to you or do you
let the tight ends we be dominant to you. I
don't know what's going on, but I didn't make.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
That was that was very revolutionary.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Cute, fantastic. They stole that from Baltimore typical, that's the
Dallas side of that. Uh, you're a big Philly fan.
Look at you know how it is in the Philly market.
You know, there's the echo chamber with even when it's
going well, we got to find a few things to
complain about. How big is this a j Brown thing with?

(21:39):
Is it real?

Speaker 4 (21:40):
What?

Speaker 2 (21:40):
What do you get? Did something happen between the two
of them, like personal or is it just AJ's trying
to get the passing game awake and he's trying to
get Jalen to recognize him more. What's the deal with
these guys?

Speaker 7 (21:52):
You know, all season long, there's been a conversation of
just you know, as Jalen hurts kind of big man
the rest of the offense.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
And I think that's something.

Speaker 7 (22:00):
That it's a little bit I think it is a
little bit of a fairy tale in some ways.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
But I will say that, like, especially.

Speaker 7 (22:07):
This past weekend, you could see, you know, the passing
game looks all right. I mean that's not the issue.
The issue is the run game. We don't pay Like
listen at the end of the day. You know, I
as a fan, I hate to be the team that's like, oh,
get it all the way down the field and do
to push push push, you know. I mean it's like,
but as a as a you know, person who watches
the game pretty intently, Saquon Barkley is having an abysmal

(22:30):
season by his standards, two rushing yards total, and you know,
you're not able to get Tank Bigsby out there enough.
You don't want to put bigs v out there enough
because at the same time, you're paying.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Saquan so much money. That side of it.

Speaker 7 (22:43):
It's you know, it's like the same thing down here
in Charlotte, right, you know, we talk about like Rigo Dabel.
It's just you know the fact that he's not getting
paid in rearly as much Schuba Hubbard. At one point
in time, you gotta try some stuff out, and you know,
so the conversation about the past game and the controversy
with you know aj and and Jalen. I mean, like, listen,
there have been talks with Higher about that, but I
don't think it's as crazy. People love to create drama,

(23:04):
and especially in the Philly market, man, I mean, listen,
they will find anything to complain about. I grew up
with it.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
It is.

Speaker 7 (23:10):
They will find literally anything to complain about. But at
the end of the day, you know, you can't complain
about this passing offense. What you can complain about is
the rushing And you can also complain about the defense
because the defense did not look great. And then on
top of that, when what's his name mccuba Andrew mccuba
me out for the rest of the season as well
with that injury, you know, that's already a secondary that

(23:31):
you know, you're relying on Cooper Gene and Quenyon Mitchell
way too much. You need to make sure you have
some balance back there. So at the end of the day,
this is gonna be kind of a rough run run
here for this Philly team.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Do I think they'll be all right? Do I think
they'll survive making it in the playoffs?

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Sure?

Speaker 7 (23:44):
Do I think it's gonna be a deep run super
Bowl season. I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
It feels like the kind of year where twelve eleven
wins feels about right with their schedule. Yeah, and if
they don't start getting it together on the ground game.
I know it's not sexy sports talk, but then we
pride ourselves on this show. You're a first timerer on this,
but you've done so much radio, and you know you
oversee what I do for you guys in Charlotte's you
know what I'm talking about. It's low hanging fruit. While
you're talking about like the Philly media, it's it's just

(24:09):
a lot of heat with no light. It's just noise.
Move the needle at all costs. I refuse to do
that show. We like to laugh, have fun, but I
won't do that well. Aunt Jane and Jaylen. You know,
I'm hearing rumors that maybe there was a girl involved,
maybe a one. Maybe it's a romantic issue. I saw
when they were interviewing in the locker room. You and

(24:29):
I've been in these locker rooms. Yeah, asking questions the
guys in the middle of the week. And when he
brought up Saquan's production last week, somebody asked him, well,
what would you say to the fact that your production's
been down this year, and I'm thinking of that. What
I say to the question, I probably would say nothing
to it, but AJ decides to go down the route
as well. I would ask saquon his productions down too.
And a couple of these siccos that probably work in

(24:50):
radio back there with their MIC's and their eyes, their
eyes lit up like third generation Eskins. They were like
they were ready to go with the sound, and I'm like,
they're waiting for that sound and they turn its innocent
comment into deadline news when really the big issue is football.
It's trenches, dude.

Speaker 7 (25:10):
I went to college with some of these kids, university
with some of these kids. I know what they're trying
to do. I know exactly what they're trying to God
bless them.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
But yeah, no, but listen, at the end of the day,
you gotta get it.

Speaker 7 (25:19):
You gotta get a bag man, you gotta get your check,
you gotta get yourself signed by the signed on the
dotted line.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Right.

Speaker 7 (25:24):
But at the end of the days, it's a sick
business we're in. But at the end of the day,
you know the issues. You can break it down and
have like and look at the x's and no's and
realize why Saquan's having an offseason. You can sit here
with the Madden curse, you can sit here with Jalen
and his controversy. Yeah, I was gonna say that's a
whole thing too, This, that and the third. But the
end of the day, you know, the offensive line obviously,

(25:45):
losing Mackay Beckton has affected you way.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
More than you explain. It's been hurt as well.

Speaker 7 (25:49):
Tyler Steen has not been great in the season, especially
on the and you think about how many of those
runs from Saquon are on the interior, how consistently runs
on the interior, and how much that is you know,
the part of his game. And so when you go
to the toss game, it's something that's not as you
Again it's not sexy talk we're talking about right here,
but but it's real. It's actually what you're watching on
the field. And the fact the matter is is that

(26:10):
just Saquon is not being utilized to the best of
his abilities because of various different factors.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
It doesn't need to.

Speaker 7 (26:16):
Be this whole like you know, like you know, hot
mic whatever, this, that and a third and again love
these guys, know some of them, sure, some of them,
are you. Yeah, we follow each other on Twitter. No,
but it's fine. But it's at the same time, it's
just like, you know, there's a difference between you know,
doing good analysis and just trying to get like, you know,

(26:36):
a viral moment, you know what I mean. And sometimes
you can do both. Yeah, and you can do both exactly,
and they don't and they don't search for it.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
You have to work hard at it exactly. It's it's slop.
It's it is just slop when you take it. But
to their defense, Brown could have said nothing there. He
you got to be more disciplined.

Speaker 7 (26:56):
And he's not very very good at just holding things back.
I will he's not, and I think he wanted to
be traded. His contract made it almost impossible to do so.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
So we'll dive more into the Eagles Cowboys story. Is
there a worst quarterback in the league right now than
JJ McCarthy, guys, Falco, Dude, he is like the worst
QB ranking second worst out of like eight hundred qualifiers
since two thousand. In this single game.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
The only quarterback I could think worse than JJ McCarthy
is probably nine.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
And that's his alter alter ego. Guy. Yeah, his his
alter ego that comes out in the fourth quarter. Apparently
well nine has now thrown more than nine interceptions this year.
Nine is not helping Kevin O'Connell whatsoever with the fact
that he trusted this guy. It's early. We'll talk more
about that. There's news on Baker Mayfield breaking. When we

(27:46):
come back, we'll give you the latest on his MRI.
We'll talk some Panthers who have a big game tonight
against the forty nine ers, sort of a ut of
a college football We can to be honest, Clenson, big winners,
South Carolina big winners, but it's.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
All about the cow Medo Bowl.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
Can we call it, I don't know, Clemson Carolina careful,
We're not loved coldma careful, people hate and we call
it that. Clemson Carolina's this week. Your thoughts on that
and much much more. The Ingles Hotline is open eight
six four two four zero fifty four eighty. We're on
the road in Charlotte getting ready for Monday night football
tonight between Niners and the Panthers.

Speaker 6 (28:18):
This is game on on one oh four nine Fox
Sports Upstate. Get in on the show at.

Speaker 9 (28:24):
Two four US up on Twitter at one o four
nine Fox Sports, Where.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
Sad?

Speaker 8 (28:49):
Whereforey?

Speaker 2 (28:56):
We're having a good old time here live from the
Queen City and Charlotte, as we're getting you set for
a big Monday night football game. The forty nine Ers
are hosting the Panthers tonight with the NFC South lead
on the line. The forty nine Ers also playing for
a lot as they chase an impeccable Rams team in
that division. Reason we are in Charlotte today, Number one,
We love our friends in Charlotte at iHeart Radio. We

(29:17):
got E White here along the star of ninety nine
seven the Fox and co host of the Tailgate Show
every single game day with me. Yes, sir, we just
wrapped up a tailgate show right at four o'clock and
we got a big time event coming up here shortly.
We'll have a nice watch party going on with some friends.
There is a rumor that the toll Dozer Mike Tolbert,
one of the meanest fullbacks in NFL history. Yes, you're
stopping bod to hang out with us, So come on

(29:38):
out and see us. If you're in the Charlotte area,
or if you've got friends up here Greenville fam out there,
give them a text let him know where we're at.
Then we're always one big family here at iHeartRadio having
a good r That's right. Did I feel good on
the read? Good job?

Speaker 7 (29:54):
It all came from the heart A plus AE plus.
You get your We'll give you your pennies from.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Good Fun. Appreciate you. Two four zero fifty four eighty
breaking news out of Tampa. Okay, drumroll please, because a
lot of Sikos out there that are Panther fans want
Baker to be hurt for a long time. That's not right.
Let's not think that way. Let's just let you know
that right now. The news from Adam Schefter and Ian

(30:21):
Rappaport as they both race to their phones and see
who could type the fastest without typos. Quarterback Baker Mayfield,
according to rap Sheet, who went down on a springed
left shoulder, has a low grade sprain. Sources say good
news with an eye towards next week. Wow. Okay, I
had a feeling when he put the sling on on

(30:41):
the sidelines that there was some performative art there from
Baker like Jimmitt Smith used to do this. I'm not
doubting he's hurt. He plays with pain he's tough. I
just didn't see Baker hurt enough to count him out
for next week, and it sounds like he might play.

Speaker 7 (30:55):
It's funny because you heard the conversations about like, oh,
was it a broken collar bone? I think a lot
of the in the Panthers organization we're like, hey, this
might be serious. But at the end of the day, again,
performance ry well, you know, getting the side of the
head right, you know, ultimately, I mean, listen, this is
a Tampa team that's got a lot of division games
coming up this this second half of the season here,
so you know, ultimately you don't have to rely on

(31:17):
Teddy Bridgewater of course. Uh high school coach stand out.

Speaker 5 (31:21):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Teddy two gloves with the dreadlocks now man, Yeah, with
the dreads and didn't get in trouble for betting or something, yeah,
something like that, something betting. He was like he was
I think a high school but he was not on
the payroll in format providing and stuff.

Speaker 7 (31:42):
And yes, yeah, there's like a whole yeah, you know,
there's like a whole thing where it's like it has
to come from like an actual employee because he was volunteer.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
It's like you couldn't do it.

Speaker 7 (31:52):
Yeah, it's just for sure, it's just sick behavior.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
But he is uh, he's probably not going to have
to play too much now that Baker's been not clear yet.
But I mean when you hear rap sheets say as
good as anyone can, hope, cat, you just tell us
rap just this that's coming from an agent and probably
someone within the building. And I'm sure that that's where
he's getting his news. And we'll follow it as we
go along. We'll know more by Wednesday. And you know what,

(32:17):
I'll say this Tampa last night. We're gonna cover a
lot of teams around. The big question today centers around
the chiefs of all teams. I know you're sick of
talking about this team, folks, but that was a big win.
One we've we predicted on game on last week felt
like a get right game where Indy Jones and the
Colts needed to go on the road in hostile environment
and they're not quite ready for that yet. But it's

(32:39):
still regular season. But back to the Rams, all right,
the Bucks pig storyline today, I said it last week,
I'll say it again, and you know I'm the first
to tell you when I'm wrong. Been wrong a lot
Rams right now. Wan no part of that team. If
I'm anybody else in the NFL, any of the thirty
one NFL teams, I don't care. If it's the Eagles,
I don't care. If it's the Bucks, I don't care.

(33:00):
If it's the forty nine Ers, any of these teams.
You can beat any team in this league. None of
them are undefeated. They're all defeatable, right but the Rams
right now are scary good. That pass rush that was
built through the draft, two versions, two alter egos of
the less Sneid Sean McVay ara off them picks and

(33:23):
then oh, let's pivot back to drafting like there's no tomorrow.
And they built this team through those two approaches. They
mortgage their future for Matt Stafford, who, by the way,
has never looked or played better in his life right
now in terms of his physique. Remember we were dogging
him this offseason, Tray, Oh, I hadn't practiced once. Yeah,
always in this chamber there, this chamber he was in

(33:44):
like we were like, oh, it's Stafford done. Stafford's not done.
He threw a few more touchdowns last night. They keep
winning and then they go back to the draft before that,
Verse Fisk, and you bring in guys like Emmanuel Forbes,
who was an afterthought in Washington. They used him in
the right way. It's sort of a no name defense
to many that are casuals, but they're so fast and good.

(34:07):
He'll turn it to you. I mean, I'm not trying
to convince you. You can disagree, but I don't want
to see the Rams. Pantas will see him next week.
It's a good challenge. But that team scares me more
than any right now.

Speaker 7 (34:16):
I mean, I think for the reasons that we are
breathing with the Niners, with the injuries that we have
on their defensive end out there in sanfran I think
with this LA team, man, oh my goodness, it is
just Jalen Verse and with Kobe Turner as well. The
way they played up against the Bucks yesterday absolutely incredible.

(34:37):
And then you look at the other side. Man, listen,
it is hard to argue with anyone that Pokinakua isn't
the best wide receiver in the game right now. I mean,
he is just a he is a reception machine. He's
just absolutely incredible, maybe the best route runner we've seen
in the past twenty years. I mean, Pukinakua is an
absolute beast. So you know, with this defense, the Rams again,

(35:00):
like you said, like, not a lot of big names,
not a lot of guys that are gonna be like,
oh man, you know you're not gonna be drafting them
in Madden being.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
Like, oh man, Yeah, it's to that point. They had
big names. They knew they had to cut tights there
like Ramsey, Aaron Donalds. Absolutely, and they were still one
of the best defenses in this league cap wise. They're
in really good shape because of that. It's a great
and they got this linebacker Nate Landman.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
Yeah, oil and.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Gas, dude, it's great land Man. I won me an
Emmy for land Man, and I found I found Nate
land Man. Actually, Trey I wanted to draft and Stevens said, no, Daddy,
we're not gonna do that. We're gonna go out and
trade for Kenny Clark and we're gonna get that other
white boy. We're gonna trade for Logan Wilson. I said, Son,

(35:46):
they're not all the same. If only if only their fans.

Speaker 7 (35:52):
Cared as much as we did. No one cares in
l A oh Man, you know what the people that
care the most about the Rams are people from Saint
Louis that hate them that much, you know what I mean?
That is the that is literally the most diehard RAM
fans are the haters from Saint Louis.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
Trey. Look in the folder there real quick, and our
our huge collection of music that we have and I
heard radio and see if you see a song from
Randy Newman called I Love la Oh, God, tell me
you have it right now? Oh God, what a deep cut.
If you don't have it, we can't play it. We're
not gonna get in trouble with Iheart's audit team on this.
Who's gonna audit us for that? That's happening. We heard

(36:28):
at one point you played a non authorized, non licensed
Do we have it? Can we have it?

Speaker 7 (36:32):
Uncle Bob's always watching again, that's what it is.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
I Love la Oh, you don't have it.

Speaker 7 (36:38):
It's okay, we're not missing much. It's fine. See you'll
learn when you're on this show.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Up.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
We set bits up in real time. It's so sloppy
yet so good. Okay, Well, here's the thing. While we
find that song. You've heard it. It was on Naked Gun.
It was one I love really really well done, John.

Speaker 7 (36:53):
Great naked Gun reference that everybody loves.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
Oh wait, hold on, is this it? What is this?

Speaker 7 (36:59):
Did you pull up Naked Gun? Is this a clip
from Naked Gun? Be careful, No, this is nothing. No,
this is the Is this.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
The opening of a major league? Is that the Yes? There,
it is all right, So just keep this under us
a little bit in the mix here. So you mentioned
LA fans. A long way to go for the bit.
I hope it's worth it. Rams and Charger fans. When
they're playing like a four o'clock championship game, the entire

(37:32):
city of LA is just running on the beach with
this music. They don't even know there's a game happening
in their backyard. They're just going about their lives, wide eyed,
happy with big old pearly white teeth. Unbeknownst to them,
there's an NFL powerhouse in their backyard, and they're just living.
They love La. They don't give a crap at football.

Speaker 7 (37:51):
They could not care less bring these teams back to
La was so there's a reason they weren't there for
so long.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
John Ellis, when you play this song in the city
of Saint Louis, you get jump. Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
Crazy.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
Go to south Saint Louis looking for good luck.

Speaker 7 (38:07):
Hey, listen, great barbecue, watch it. Watch what you play
out there, sir.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
We're from LA. Where where's the big arts. It's back
the way you came where you from LA exactly.

Speaker 7 (38:17):
So what you're gonna do, You're gonna keep walking towards
the arch and then you keep you see right there
at the Mississippi River, just go ahead and go head first.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
And you just do that and go go back to
LA through via the Mississippi. I don't know how you'll
do that. Maybe build a canal and then go back
to your stupid team you stole from us. That has
to suck worse than anything. I remember when I was
living out in Des Moines. I lived there for about
two years, and it was like it was fresh. It
was like within the past five years when they had
left out there in Saint Louis. And you know, it's

(38:45):
crazy because that was probably the predominant team in that area.
And yeah, of course you know Cedar Falls guy played
for the Iowa Barnstormers shout the ANFL, you know, so
obviously Saint Louis big big city down there.

Speaker 7 (39:00):
And I'll tell you what. They stuck with the Cardinals,
they stuck with the Blues. But I'll tell you what,
but probably the most popular team was because of how
much they hated the Rams. Then the Rams knew no
bounds out there.

Speaker 4 (39:11):
Man, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
A good healthy hate brings a lot of people together.

Speaker 4 (39:14):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
That does come to mind from time to time, like
I'm blessed as we're sitting here in the shadows of
Bank of America Stadium. Panthers are not playing in this
stadium tonight, they're on the road, but we're here for
a big watch party tonight for Monday Night football. We're
here to clutch on Cedar Street. If you're in the area,
come on and see us. If you know somebody in Charlotte,
let them know. If you're on the iHeart app listening
to us, you know where to find us. I've often

(39:37):
thought about what if you know, when Jerry Richardson passed,
who was the owner of the Panthers. Of course before
that he had to bequeath the team to somebody else
because of some stuff that was going on behind the scenes.
And then you start thinking about, let's please make sure
we've got the right next guy coming in because this team,
if they ever move away would break my kids heard
I would survive. I'd hate it, but my kids got
so invested in this team. Luckily, the owner here, David

(39:59):
Tepper and his wife Nicole, we feel like that they
have learned some lessons on how to own this is
feeling better. Their community involvement has been great. And I
say that as an honest observant reporter for this team.

Speaker 7 (40:09):
Yeah, and the cole especially, I feel like she's always
so front facing with the team, even to the tree
lighting last week, down right, straight right, She's out there
with Christy Coleman, and like they are committed to this team.
They're committed to build something here, beautiful here for this
uh you know, for this community and for the Carolinas.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
It's great and that's you want to win. They do
want to win. Every owner truly wants to win on
their own level. But some owners aren't going to invest
in the future of their home. This home. I feel
good about their future. I bring that up because there
were some times where you start worrying about it's the Panthers.
They've had some success. London wants a team or maybe

(40:50):
we'll get relegated out to and it's heartbreaking when you see,
like the Rams fans I've talked to before, when Saint
Louis they love I know the Rams are originally in
La I get that, but that was such a whole
following in Saint Louis, kind of like the Seattle Supersonic.

Speaker 7 (41:03):
So it's like, yeah, ripped out of their hometown. Well,
it's a ross Belt city, man, you know, at the
end of the day. It's so funny because I've always
heard people say that, like Charlotte is a very Midwest
coated southern city right where it's like there's a lot
of pride for it, regardless if people are from here
or not. The Carolinas have a lot of pride. It's
much like Saint Louis, much like Minneapolis, much like to

(41:23):
a lesser de greet Chicago, right where you know, you
commit to your teams. And so when Saint Louis left,
you know, when the Rams left Saint Louis, that was
just an absolutely insane moment in the league. And again
to go to a city that didn't want you in
the first place, you know, and again not really showing
you that they want you. Now there's a team that
is within five years of winning a Super Bowler. Yeah,

(41:45):
I mean right there, yeah, exactly. And every home game
feels like an away game. It's just it's it's a
revolving door of just sometimes you just have to accept
that things don't work in certain places. You saw it
in the NHL with Arizona, right, you saw it like that.
You know, sometimes you just got to lean into it.
And you know, the beautiful thing that I think the

(42:05):
league is realized, the Teppers have realized, and ultimately the
community has realized, is that the Panthers are worth keeping
here in the Carolinas. And so like that conversation about Vegas,
not you know, obviously Vegas a couple of years ago,
but you know, London or Mexico City or all these
random places, it's kind of coming gone in these conversations.
Was beautiful Vegas ended up winning and getting a great

(42:28):
right Absolutely?

Speaker 2 (42:30):
They look so good right now? Of course, I'm kidding.
It's a disaster is today. It was announced, as we
had to break here, that Chip Kelly, about eight weeks
too late, was fired from his post as offensive coordinator
of a Raiders teak God that yeah, look, here's the problem.
Gino Smith, I really like him. He's a good passer,

(42:51):
he's a good football story. He had some great seasons
in Seattle, could come backstory. But he's got nobody to
throw to. If it's not named brock Bower. You've got
Michael Myers, ak Ashtingenti back. They're still trying to figure
out how to catch a football out of the backfield.
Pete Carroll's in his mid seventies. I like the guy.
Their offensive line is garbage, and Tom Brady is a

(43:12):
part owner of all of it, and so it's just
been one of these teams. Falcone. You've talked about it
with me here that they have all the headlines for
the wrong reasons early in the season, and the football
just stinks. And I feel bad for Max Crossby. That
guy prolongs on a winner, like bring him to Carolina already,
let's trade, make it happen. I'll figure it out. Seriously,

(43:36):
We'll got to send the check. I would say, send
him to the Steelers, but you've run out of money.
You've officially gone bankrupt from this defense you bought and
can't stop Crapston. Yeah, they don't like to fire good
coaches like that or Matt Canada or Arthur.

Speaker 7 (43:54):
But there's another there's another gritty guy man you know
out of eastern Michigan, you know as a small school
right exactly, just you know, like that's another guy where
it's just like you want to see him on a
team that actually would invest in care and like, you
know again it's like, can you imagine within like two
three years him and Nick Gordon on either side of
each other. Come on, I don't I don't want to.

(44:14):
I don't want to make you, you know, get too
excited here John Ellis. But like, seriously, goosebumps State. You
can hear the goosebumps through the radio. We're live here
in Charlotte uptown at a place called Clutch. If you're
not familiar with it, Uh, Greenvillians out there upstate, friends,
you should come by and see us anytime on the
pregame hours for the Carolina Panthers in ninety nine point
seven the Fox iHeart Zone. This of course, is one

(44:34):
of four nine Fox Sports Upstate. We were brought to
you by your friends at Ingles Markets. We got a
lot of football to get to in the six pm hour.
We're gonna do the full NFL whip around. We'll give
you some news about the college football playoff rankings that
are head tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (44:46):
What to look out for. We'll hit a break and
we'll see you on the FIP sad yo at for
sure stadium? Did he even nickname for the stadi? Barston?
What have you got? Hit by truck again? I'm not
taking CJ over the homes to tell you about Sam Darlin.
You could have him right now for a bag of
peno him. And it's Philly, Philly. I'm just a dumb

(45:07):
sports talker, but.

Speaker 8 (45:08):
I loved st.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
John. Oh yeah, baby, the weight is over.

Speaker 4 (45:15):
I got pure team right now.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
Woke up.

Speaker 4 (45:16):
I'm ready.

Speaker 6 (45:17):
Finally something to argue about. That isn't your co workers
fantasy trade proposal or Bryce Young's height. It's game on
with John Ellis and trade poly walnuts Falco with wal
to wall NFL action all season long. I am the
new from first snap to final whistle, rookies, revenge games
and questionable calls and absolutely zero patients for your power rankings. Yeah,

(45:43):
brought to you by Ingles Low Prices. Love the savings.
Hit the phone line said two four zero fifty four eight.
Let's talk some football. Here's John Ellis's.

Speaker 1 (45:57):
Let me tell you, man, guys dumb.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
Maybe not too far away from where we usually broadcast from.
That is the Ingles Studios downtown Greenville. We're about an
hour and thirty minutes to your north northeast. It feels
like it should be north. It's northeast. Dish eighty five
is a kid. I always thought you're just going straight north.
We'd make your trip every weekend to see my grandparents.

(46:21):
In any event, we're in Charlotte right now, the heart
of uptown Charlotte. We're getting you ready for a big
Monday night game. Got a good crowd out here clutch
uptown Charlotte, right off Cedar Street. If you're in this
area on the iHeartRadio app listening to us as many
Charlotte Eatings do, come on out and see us all
night long. If not, hey, you know what, come catch
us anytime we're in a home game environment for the

(46:43):
big tailgate show with my friend E White who joins
us today. What's going on then? And man listen, just
looking for a Panthers win. That's all we could really
look for. Man all set.

Speaker 7 (46:51):
Yeah, sometimes it's just sometimes it's just as simple as that,
my friend, Seriously, whatever it takes. The environment's great though.
We got the Christmas lights out, you know, shout them
the on the crew here always by the way, no,
I was gonna say, yeah, I tould the uh never
not twinkling anymore. Sorry, Rush, but uh but yeah, man,
always a great environment, especially game day. So if you

(47:12):
ever get up here for game day. But I've been
coming up this uh this Sunday and when the Panthers
take on the Rams, I clutch is a great place
to be. Seriously, right off see your street. Uh you
could walk to the stadium. Literally there's a little pathway
right there. It's really it's really sick for sure. So
if you have up here for a game, definitely a
go to for sure.

Speaker 2 (47:28):
Yep. And this is all with our partners uh here
of course we're on iHeart Radios on Fox Sports Upstate.
That's w RFX ninety nine point seven the Fox. We're
one big happy family here. I heart Caroltas and blessed
as always. This is my third season doing pregame coverage
with the flagship station, and I did Trey PAULI wantats
Falco Beck in studio. You know, I've been doing this

(47:49):
show for a while. It's one of my UH, I
would say game on here is my favorite thing to
do every single day, without UH mentioning spending time with
my kids. That comes first, But doing this show you
is my life's delight. In terms of my career, this
is a close second, maybe even moving up towards first
because it's the NFL. You're part of something that's very

(48:09):
cool flagship wise. But for the last couple of years,
Tray and I've talked about this with you, I was
doing it solo, and I felt like a safety on
an island, maybe like when when Mika has a bad game,
ellis side there you go there it is Ellis Wow
and history jeez, we prep on the files silent I did.
I felt like the the cow Herd version of pregame shows,

(48:31):
just talking to myself for an hour and e White
comes down here starts running things at ninety nine seven
the Fox Use. You can hear him on air every
afternoon there and he's been my right hand man, my
co host. As you said, you're the McAfee to my
what my Reecee Davis, I.

Speaker 7 (48:45):
Was gonna say, you're Reese Davis, which, like you know,
I think we're giving to ourselves a little too much.
I was gonna say, if you're seeing Reese Davis, what
the hell am I I was gonna say, I think
I'm like Wish dot com at this point, you know
what I mean. Yeah, that could be that could be messy.

Speaker 2 (49:00):
If you order Rhys Davis on Wish or Team Mode,
you're gonna find me. But seriously, it's been a pleasure
so far this year because it does feel better doing
this show. It's train and I talk about sometimes he'll
be at a doctor former for his kid and I'll
be solo and it sucks because we don't just chemistry,
no bounce, And it's been so much fun doing the
Tailgate show with you Mail. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (49:19):
Man, Well, you know, at the end of the day,
it's like, you know, it's always just fun to talk
ball with people that get it and people that love it.
Right at the end of the day, whether you're listening,
whether you're talking on you know, whether you're calling in, whatever,
it is, like, if you love ball, that's why you're here,
right and so like, regardless of what it is, and
especially when it comes to you know, the Panthers, which
you know, listen, this is you know, now at the

(49:40):
point in time that we're at thirtieth season for Panthers.

Speaker 2 (49:43):
You know, it's it's one of those.

Speaker 7 (49:45):
Things where you have a new generation of fans that
grew up strictly with this team, right, that's a beautiful thing.
So like, you know, being able to be part of that,
being able to be a part of a generation that
is just building up here, it's really cool, man, It's awesome.

Speaker 2 (49:58):
Big question of today brought to you by our friends
Ingles Markets, low prices, love the Savings. Let's tee this
off as we get the six pm hour rolling your
impressions of the Chiefs yesterday? Did they convince you that
they're back in this thing? Or is it just too little,
too late? And are the Colts fraudulent?

Speaker 4 (50:15):
Ish?

Speaker 2 (50:16):
Where are we at with Daniel Jones? Two four zero
fifty forty. Let's zone onto that game a little bit.
Here is the Chiefs. Obviously we're down twenty to nine.
And look, it's hard to explain how certain things happen.
Sometimes you just have a lot of really good players
all over your team, including a quarterback that is the
best that we've seen in a while in Mahomes, and

(50:37):
that usually ends up winning a lot of games. They've
been so bad in close games this year. I want
to get y'all's take on the Chiefs in just a minute,
as they did come back and beat the Colts yesterday.
We do have one of our friends on hold right now.
Let's go out to the Ingles hotline. Welcome into game
on on a Monday night special.

Speaker 8 (50:53):
How you doing, wake Cat Wall Line?

Speaker 2 (50:59):
Yes, yeah, Look look who it is getting his pre
game on. Uh. This is Chad the vending machine King
E White. Meet Chad, Chad E White. How you doing, Chadwick.
Wonderful to me. You're acquaintance my friend.

Speaker 8 (51:13):
Oh yeah, that's to meet you, man. I've enjoyed hearing
a show today.

Speaker 4 (51:19):
I appreciate you, brother.

Speaker 1 (51:20):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
Chad. For those who know him, he's a big Panther fan.
He's a fanatic. Uh. He picked the Panthers to go
fifteen to two this season. We all laughed in his
face and he's probably was more accurate than we are raising.

Speaker 7 (51:30):
I think a lot of us were thinking the other
way around.

Speaker 2 (51:32):
He's also one of the great vending machine aficionados in
the Upstate, Okay, and brings us boxes of chips and
cookies and crackers from time to time. He is a
kind soul, but he's he's out for blood tonight. His
his panthers are in San Francisco, Chad, the floor is yours.
What are we doing tonight? How's it gonna go?

Speaker 5 (51:55):
Man?

Speaker 8 (51:56):
We rode out to Cali. Were gonna put them. We're
gonna damn forty nine ers. Let me tell you, big cat,
we're gonna shut see m see down. We're gonna beat
them by two tuddies, big cats.

Speaker 2 (52:09):
Too, Tuddy special special in the NFC South And come
on tomorrow.

Speaker 8 (52:17):
Morning on the cow turns hierarchy. Were gonna make the hierarchy. Man,
we might be nine or ten.

Speaker 7 (52:23):
Can I get an amen from the congregation?

Speaker 2 (52:25):
Sarah, here we go, congregations, Amen, let's go across country.
That's one is. We're gonna go get two Tuddies on
the board in terms of the margin of victory there, Chad.
I don't think you're right about everything all the time,
although your pick'ems seem to suggest you have some sort
of aura about you as you continue to dominate our

(52:48):
weekly picks. And I will say this, I mines forward
this week.

Speaker 8 (52:51):
I don't do that great.

Speaker 2 (52:52):
Okay, fine, okay, you really this guy's in the ninety
eighth percent ESPN cat oh bro, he's an idiot savant,
Hey man, nothing wrong with that.

Speaker 7 (53:04):
All, well, we all wish we could be.

Speaker 2 (53:06):
Man, let's be an idiots. It's a compliment. You're the
rain man of the vending industry.

Speaker 4 (53:10):
You really are, Man.

Speaker 8 (53:17):
I kind of just look at home field advantage or
who's got the best quarterback or the best coach.

Speaker 2 (53:24):
He actually analyzed what is that. I don't know what
that is. Look, I think this game because I know
you're here for a little bit of analysis too, and
we like to have a little fun and laugh. But
getting down to serious business here. You know, he and
I were talking about this on the pregame show earlier.
This is not a good San Francisco defense currently. No,

(53:46):
they're not. I mean they're built for it. They have
a lot of good players on their active roster as
far as who they pay, but many of those guys
will not play tonight, including Nick Bosa, including Fred Warner,
uh Hufanga. A great safety they had for you is
now in Denver. Michael Williams. The rookie doesn't look like
he's gonna play. I'm looking down the roster here and

(54:06):
I'm seeing a lot of names that not only I
don't know that well, but when I look at the tape,
they're getting exploited a lot by receivers, by quarterbacks with
time in the pocket. I would suggest that, you know, again,
I'm not Dave Canalis. No one has a jaw line
like Dave Canalis. God, I wish I did come on
a couple, a couple of big husky bulls here talking football.
But Dave Canalis keep those scripted plays early centered around balance,

(54:29):
and look, there will be shots here. They can't really
stop the run or stop the pass a lot. They've
had three interceptions all year of that defense. This could
be maybe not four or fifty yards. But Brice could
have another big night tonight. I'm not that worried about
that side of it. I am a little worried about
McCaffrey because he's kind of a psycho. He might quietly
want to take this personal. But again, he can only

(54:50):
do so much.

Speaker 7 (54:50):
True true, I mean him and Ricky Piersoll, And then
I mean, can't forget about George Kettle. You know, here's
the thing who's had a pretty pedestrian year by his standards. Yeah, man,
know you were down. We're down two linebackers, is what
it is. Rose Boom and Driving Wallace now granted, cherlist
looked great last week, and Ben Martin Scott when push
comes to the shout, first of all, great name, Second

(55:11):
of all you know, yeah, great name. Second of all,
you know, forced fumble last week. So there's a there's
potential for sure.

Speaker 2 (55:17):
Yeah, Chad, I think two tuddies might be generous, but
I if Carolina wins the way I want.

Speaker 7 (55:25):
It to happen, generous call from a generous man, that's right.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
Yeah, the generosity. It's it's Thanksgiving week and we're thankful
for all this generosity. Here's the good thing about everything
right now, because this.

Speaker 4 (55:38):
Is just just.

Speaker 2 (55:39):
Keeping it a buck. As Cam Newton would say, Hello, kids,
how do we do his new segment, John keeps it
a buck? All right? Let me keep it a buck, man,
keep it a buck, youngsters, So win or lose tonight.
Here's what we're all gonna end up doing. And we're
not gonna talk about it because it's really taboo to

(56:01):
talk about. We're gonna hope and pray that other teams
guys start getting hurt. You're gonna be looking at other
standings and other players and other teams in your division saying, well,
this team's got to play this team, and that guy's hurt.
The Mayfield story is a classic example. And you know
Baker is a great dude, great player. He's probably gonna
miss minimal time. But Carolina fans, even if you lose tonight,

(56:23):
we can be sick, ohs and look ahead because it
doesn't hurt you that much. You're still only a half
game behind Tampa. In that case, you still play them twice.
All I want to see, Chad, let's stick with the
theme what we talked about earlier this year, what we
talked about. What do we want to see after those
first two games and those games last year that were bad?
What did we ask for? What did we pray to
the football gods for Chad?

Speaker 7 (56:46):
I don't remember, Pops, he caught him off guard.

Speaker 2 (56:56):
Do what you just want to win?

Speaker 1 (57:00):
That?

Speaker 2 (57:01):
Okay, suck for a while here, let me refresh your memory.
I know it's been a long day for all of us.
You and I had said, man, can we just get
to halftime and it not be over? Let's make that
our first goal. Chad, Let's not have a twenty eight
nothing halftime deficit where it's like, let's turn this off.

Speaker 7 (57:18):
Hey, you call them like the quiz out of the
DMV man, where it's just like, oh yeah, why do
we read these things and guess these signs?

Speaker 2 (57:24):
While you're at it?

Speaker 4 (57:24):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (57:26):
Put your pencils and papers down, turn them over, Bueler,
catch them with pop quiz Chad Chat. I think that
in all seriousness, they've arrived at a place where the
league is so unpredictable. It could be that kind of game.
San Francisco is sick in terms of their play calling offensively,
it's a road game. Maybe they'll get blown out, maybe

(57:46):
they won't. But to this point, they bought enough equity
and they bought enough goodwill to still come out next week,
even after what happened against New Orleans. They come back
and they win. Last weeks Atlanta. I would like to
see a couple wins stacked up, at least split the
next two weeks, because, as he has said, what six
days from now, who comes to town the best team
in football, the Rams. You've got to win one of

(58:07):
those two games. That's what I'll give you there. You
got to split.

Speaker 8 (58:09):
The We got to win this game or the Rams
game to be relevant one of them to one of them.

Speaker 1 (58:18):
One of these two games. Well going and and.

Speaker 5 (58:28):
And and the clock up.

Speaker 1 (58:35):
You know that is what we need to do.

Speaker 4 (58:37):
And I think, well, I couldn't agree more.

Speaker 2 (58:40):
Man, we we we deserved our glory by now we
we have earned our glory. It's been three thousand and
five hundred days since this team has been in first
place by themselves. After the month of October. I would
say we for gloryhole. It's time to experience, metaphorically speaking,
a little football glory. I'm praying and hoping Chad that
you get the two Tuddy win tonight. And keep in mind,

(59:01):
we don't gamble on any of this because we're we're
south of the border in the Carolinas and we're not
gamblers about nature. But chat all serious, is man. This
is fun. It's fun to be like Thanksgiving week and
talking playoffs. And Tampa is in trouble. It's not just Baker.
They've got issues across the board. Their defense is suddenly leaky,
but Colum got hers last night. One of their corners,

(59:23):
Bucky Irvin. I don't know what's going on with him,
but he's not playing football. They're they're very beatable right now.
I used to fear that team, and then you peel
back the layers of what Tampa is. They had like
five to one point wins this season. It's close. It's
close calls, man, But you've got a team you can
feel proud of right now in Carolina. I mean, this
is a good operation with Canalis Morgan. You and I

(59:45):
have talked about it chat. You and I've talked about
it every week.

Speaker 4 (59:48):
Man.

Speaker 2 (59:48):
They seem to have something that is sort of fool proof.
It makes sense, it's solid, it's it's the.

Speaker 7 (59:54):
Most promising I think this team has looked since. I
won't to even go twenty fifteen. I mean like three team,
you know, like you know, you can really get behind
and build something here. And I think that's the thing
that's beautiful. It's like you saw that twenty fifteen team,
You're like, all right, cool, You'll You'll get a couple
of years here and then like ultimately the character will
turn into a pumpkin like this has some sauce. Juice

(01:00:16):
stays in the fridge. It expires, but sauces sauce lasts
for a couple of years. Mant Gardener except for garden. Well,
we all got to talk about sauce guard. Well that's
a little more you know, specific if we're going. But hey, man,
at the end of the day, you got something that
can last here. Man, it's beautiful, that's true.

Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
Chad enjoyed the game today.

Speaker 1 (01:00:35):
I know we have a chance.

Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
Man, Man, I can only imagine.

Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
Man, we weren't playoffs, Panthers.

Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
We're in the friend zone. Look, we were in the
friend zone last year. We were enjoying a little frisky fun.
The team was close, they almost beat a few good teams.
We played spoilers against the Cardinals at the end and
the Falcons. And now you carry that momentum over and
you graduate from the friend zone.

Speaker 7 (01:01:01):
We're sending some naughty snapchats now, baby, you have a.

Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
Chance to find some glory tonight, all the way on
the West coast where there was a plentiful supply of
oil and gas. And I'm sure Kickles your fancy Jed
be safe out there, Chad, go Panthers. Enjoy the game, brother.

Speaker 8 (01:01:21):
I mean Cat and Trey Man.

Speaker 5 (01:01:23):
Happy birthday, dude, Man, I heard you than old.

Speaker 2 (01:01:28):
How does that make you? Thanks Jed? That some radio
business will duty we all looked like that. Oh man,
all right, Jed, I'm just bracing for you.

Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
Now.

Speaker 7 (01:01:49):
Next I was gonna say, now, I gotta know what
I gotta look forward to.

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
Here, have some appetizer order.

Speaker 6 (01:01:54):
It is.

Speaker 7 (01:01:57):
It is about a couple of years. I'm thirty, you
know a little.

Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
I've known you for like six months.

Speaker 4 (01:02:02):
I didn't know you were only I'm only thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
Yeah, for sure, don't take that the wrong No, it's fine,
it's fine. It's you know.

Speaker 7 (01:02:07):
It makes me feel better about it, you know, because
like everybody, I wasn't scared of thirty, you know what
I mean. I feel like there's there's people Listen. Quarterback
can be scared of thirty, you know, like receivers can
be scared of thirty. Normal human beings don't be scared of.
Russell Wilson's afraid of a lot of things. Russell Wilson'
afraid of his wife, He's afraid of winning, He's afraid

(01:02:28):
of thirty, you know, all the but he's afraid of
anything that's not Seattle.

Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
You see did you see the Russell Wilson. Well, there's
several means of Russell Wilson going around today. Some of
which will not comply to. Yeah, well, I'll send you
a couple there, Paully turn break as Russ is one
of the many cast of characters that we enjoy on
this show. That guy. Let me just leave you with

(01:02:54):
this before we hit the break. There's so much aura
with that awful team in New York. You know though,
it's art Is Shatter when they were healthy, Sketubo and
then you got Jamis. They're all and Russ just feels
like the dork that's out of place.

Speaker 7 (01:03:09):
He got fo and six in the trap and then
you got Russ praying in the corner.

Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
Yeah, and you know who they sent out for the
coin toss in overtimes. Russ. He was there. He He
and Brandon Aubrey went out for the end. And you know,
Brandon's out there knocking eighty yard field goals and Russ
is sitting there trying to throw twenty yard passes. God
to watch NFL whipp arounds. Coming up next, we'll look

(01:03:38):
at all the scores, all the big plays, all the
funny moments from a wild week eleven in the National
Football League. As we're getting up on Thanksgiving week, don't
forget our good friends at Ingles hap he covered for
all you need, but don't wait too long. Go see
your friends at Ingles tonight. Get all you need for
the big Turkey Day coming up on Thursday, and not
just for that all your tailgate needs. It's rivalry week

(01:03:58):
in college football. Ingles had you covered low prices, lovel
the savings. Check them out online Eagles dash markets dot com.
Line up the phones two four zero fifty threty. We'll
be back after this show.

Speaker 6 (01:04:10):
This is game on on one oh four nine Fox
Sports Upstate. Get in on the show at two four
zero fifty three or put us up on Twitter at
one o four nine Fox easiest. When you are.

Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
Done there, Yo, we re had to rest, don't you cry? No,

(01:04:58):
nothing like being in a city of Charlotte, the bright
lights of the skyline of uptown Queen City, Charlotte as
we are actually during an away game here at home,
getting you ready for Panthers forty nine ers coming up.
I think kickoff is at eight point fifteen ish when
Chris Stapleton's finally on singing. It takes him about thirty

(01:05:19):
seconds to well thirty minutes to get that anthemount. It's
a big game. Nonetheless, We're here for a couple of reasons.
Number one, uh you boy. John ellis here. That's Trey
Falco back in studio. This is E White. I work
with E. White. If you don't know him upstate, get
to know him. He does great work for ninety nine
point seven The Fox. He is also my co host
for the Panthers tail game Tailgate experience, experience, tailgate show,

(01:05:42):
whatever you want to call. It's an experience experience. We
have a great time with and you know, with our
partnership here between Iheartradios owned the Fox nine nine point
seven and iHeart Radio is one of four nine Fox Sports.
We're doing a little collaboration today if you will. So.
We are live at Clutch Uptown Charlotte, a great place.
It's our standard spot. We come to every home game, babe.

(01:06:03):
And to be here at night what I keep thinking
about again, we're talking about the Panthers here, folks. It's
a team that you know is near and dear to
my heart, my family's heart. I remember coming to playoff
games here at night. Carls in two thousand and eight
would didn't go so well. Cowboys in two thousand and
three was glorious. People flooding the streets of Uptown afterwards,
and just such great continuity and such a sense of

(01:06:25):
community and the Panthers. Although this game is not at
home tonight, to be sitting here in the shadows of
the stadium that's about five hundred yards behind us here
with a great crowd here at Clutch, it means the
world to be doing this, man, Because my kids are
texting me from home like dude, how is it. I'm like, well,
it's not you know, the team's not here, there's not
buses rolling in. But it's cool to be in the city.
There's a good buh, good buzz, good vibe among the

(01:06:47):
entire city, not just here, yeah, but down in Spartanburg,
down in Greenville, Anderson. You know, Chad's down there and
holding Springs, which is in Spartanburg. This is such a
great opportunity for this team not only to stay playoff relevant,
but to earn some good will back as they have
been with the entire two states. You know, one team deal.

Speaker 7 (01:07:06):
There is something special when a team does well and
all of a sudden the city starts to reflect that,
you know, and and with this Panthers team, this is
something that hasn't been consistent enough. And like I said earlier,
you know, before we went to break right, you know,
this is a team that it could last a while,
you know, with built for they're built for it. And
that's something that Dan Morgan wanted to build. Dan Morgan

(01:07:27):
was part of a team that had longevity to it,
you know what I mean. And it's so crazy, right
that one win team that then turned around and then
making the Super Bowl, Right, that's the kind of team
you want to see build. And ultimately, you know, here
we are, you know, in twenty twenty five, over two
decades later, and it feels that way again.

Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
Man, it's beautiful. It is great. He is originally I
don't know originally if you're from Philly at the time,
you are, Yeah, you've worked in Philly, You've worked in Minneapolis.
Those are teams that have had great success and an
embarrassment of riches care Alina once upon a time was
a team that every other year at least you could
count on to be a playoff contender. But it never
really During the Ron Rivera years, felt like he was

(01:08:08):
fully baked. They had GM changes, they had all sorts
of issues with the defensive times cam Newton's injuries. But
you talk about Dan Morgan, the general manager of this team.
Marty Herney was the general manager of the team. Then
he drafted Dan Morgan along with George Seaffert. There's a
name from the past and when Fox he took over
John Fox. We all call him Foxy around these parts.

(01:08:29):
He built it from the inside out and he found
himself a quarterback in Jake Deloon. He could believe in.
Trust in they did. They found Moose Mohammed, Steve Smith.
They knew what they were and they stuck to it.
And some teams out there before we go back to
the phone lines, I know we got somebody on hold here.
There are teams out there like Atlanta that have no
clue what they're doing. They're trying to find out who

(01:08:50):
they are. But I don't think that coach is going
to make it through this. They still owe Kirk Cousins
a lot of money and Pinnicks. This is like his
fifth operation he's had since college. It's just there, Carolina fans,
you have a lot to be aware of and a
lot to be weary of at times. But as he said,
and he knows the team as well as I do.
The foundation. The bones feel strong right now. It is.

Speaker 7 (01:09:10):
You know, you gotta build a house with a strong foundation.
You gotta build a house with a skeleton on it.

Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
It's like Dan Campbell right now. Yeah, that's trusty talk
right now, man, but that's what it is. Give me
a chee right now.

Speaker 7 (01:09:24):
You're right though, I'm gonna say, stick a lip in.
Just go with it, man, seriously, that's what you got
to do sometimes, and that's what this team man. You know,
there's been you can only get kicked below the belt
so many times before you got to put a cup on,
and that's ultimately what this team has decided to do
this season and going forward.

Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
Man, you know, just throw the cup away exactly.

Speaker 7 (01:09:47):
You're building armor, man, you gotta build the armor sometimes.
You know, don't submit to the taco. Time you turn no, no,
you turn to taco. The taco you can dominate this one,
you know what I mean. But yeah, man, it's like
you're building armor. You're building something up here suddenly, you know,
and then you know, give it two three years. You're
like a Samurai shield man. And that's ultimately with Dan

(01:10:09):
Campbell and this team wants to build him.

Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
You know, I think we gotta do a battle that
Dan's out there, Dan Campbell, Dan Morgan, who would win
in a just.

Speaker 7 (01:10:16):
An all think that's happened on the field, and I'm
pretty sure Morgan won.

Speaker 2 (01:10:20):
You know, I think you're right. They played against each other.

Speaker 7 (01:10:23):
They played against each other quite a bit, and people
forget how much of a savage Dan Morgan was.

Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
That's a player, well, Dan Campbell. The favorite bit of
Dan Campbell, I think is that victory Mondays, him and
his wife go to Starbucks. They get those coffees with
that precious little puppy of theirs. But they never do
it on losing Mondays, Like losing Monday. Dan is in
his dungeon with film and he's got Hey Man, He's
got red Man. He found he custom ordered red Man

(01:10:48):
on the eBay. Today.

Speaker 7 (01:10:49):
He got that sugar cookie latte with extra sugar enough
to dip cup on Monday gives while he was at it.
You know, I don't know about Jared Off though.

Speaker 4 (01:11:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:11:01):
Yeah, let's go back out to the ingles, Hodeline. I believe
we have one of our friends on hold here. Welcome
into game on Happy Football Monday.

Speaker 5 (01:11:09):
Hello, John is Rocky.

Speaker 2 (01:11:12):
Rocky Rocky what's going on, Rocky, how we feeling that?

Speaker 5 (01:11:16):
I was thinking I'd like to come in like beat Cat,
But you know what, there's only one dude that can
come in that way, and we we you can't imitate
that or duplicate it, So that beongs to that Bongs
and mister Dad.

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
That oh yeah, the big Well, you know, here's the
other thing, Don Don Munson, our friend from Clemson football.
Then if you're new to this show, and you are, yeah,
of course, if I have some people will come in
and they say big Cat fruit Loops because once upon
a time training I did a period of let's let's
do a morning zoos show one day, let's just name
ourselves the worst morning zoo show ever, and it was

(01:11:54):
ended up being Big Cat and fruit Loops working on
a great Cat anders froot Loops over. They're gonna sit
them out there and have them pick up some marshmallows
with us. You know what, every morning, the forest coming
off the.

Speaker 5 (01:12:11):
Carolina pants and I have a lot of friends that
are Carolina Panthers fans. I'm not saying I'm not a fan,
They're just not my main team, but I do follow
them and put root for them. This is a big
game tonight. Given the the outcome of last night's game

(01:12:31):
and the Bucks losing, I I'm not sure, and you you,
I'd love to hear you go down the schedule when
the Panthers play the Bucks again. But if the Panthers
win tonight, would that not put them in first place
in the their division?

Speaker 2 (01:12:49):
But I have again, Roy, let me, this is where
we are such a unique show because we can just
sound like total slop for twenty seconds, like we did.
But here's the real talk, Okay, Carol, right now, at
this very moment, is technically in first place in this
division with one exception. The week has not been completed,
and they don't have as good of a division record

(01:13:09):
as Tampa. Tampa's two to zero in the division, Carolina
is two and one. However, should Carolina win tonight, and
it's not an impossibility, should they win tonight, they will
be the outright leader in NFC South for the first time.
And I don't know if you heard us, Rocky, the
first time in fifty three hundred days, it's been that
long since in October or beyond that's happened.

Speaker 5 (01:13:31):
I just think it's been a while since Panther fans
can go into a primetime game where the Panthers are
playing against a primetime team and the fort and out
there on the road, and if they can come out
of there, we'll win. That's gonna that. That'll raise some

(01:13:55):
eyebrows and stuff like that within the NFL and the
at the fans and all of a sudden, Hey man,
we might be a decent team, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:14:08):
And but they've been doing that bits and pieces along
the way this year. The stakes get higher when you
get to Thanksgiving. I mean, that's the old adage that
Belichick used to talk about. Belichick's been doing other things lately.
We will go down that road.

Speaker 7 (01:14:20):
But he's got he's got plenty of other things he
gotta worried about.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
He's got a daughter in law. He's trying to be
quietly shut up. Hey, hey, situation anyway, back to your topic, Rock.
The further along you get in the season and the
more relevant you stay, not only it becomes fun for
fans that haven't experience in a while, becomes a bit
of a heartburn situation. You find yourself again like my

(01:14:44):
sons and I. Last night, Andrew was getting nervous again,
like Dad. The teams we needed to lose. They didn't lose.
I was like, but how fun is it that we're
even talking about this now, whereas every year since like
twenty eighteen, it's like, oh the inevitable is none of
this matters. Let's do some draft talk. It's still a
mock draft. Let's just be spoilers. Even if they lose tonight,

(01:15:05):
they control their own destiny. If they went out after
this game, they can still win the division because they
play Tampa week sixteen and week eighteen, two of the last.

Speaker 5 (01:15:15):
Time, so they haven't even played yet.

Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
I was thinking, they well, Carolina, Carolina wins out, they
win the division. There's your simple answer, Now, will they
They got the rest.

Speaker 5 (01:15:26):
That's what you want, is your own destiny. If you're
playing ball in any sport or whatever, and it's in
your own hands, you know, and you don't have to
worry about somebody else, then you know what it's all
in you And dayson. Alis obviously must to be doing
a really good job there and just doing some things.

(01:15:48):
So I mean, I'm keeping up from the periphery. But
you're in Charlotte and you're with the guys spent a
long time. But Rocky Hill South Carolina and the Charlotte
area has spent many years there in my early day
of life.

Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
And so yeah, man, listen, I was born in a
little city just right up the road from our age
called Pineville, North Cakilaca.

Speaker 5 (01:16:10):
I know because on Sunday when I was back Pineville beer.

Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
Back in Pineville was Pineville in the early eighties, sir,
and back in the seventies and sixties, my great granddaddy,
I'm going to Pineville now Pineville accent is coming back in.
My great granddaddy his name was dead. We called him
granddaddy did. But his name I believe was Arthur. First
name was Arthur, last name was Brewer. He was the
sheriff of Pineville, that's right, or the police chief, one

(01:16:38):
of the others.

Speaker 5 (01:16:41):
Every Sunday before NFL football, there was a group of
guys including me. It took a ride up to Pineville,
North Carolina to get live actions because of course South
Carolina and the blue lass is not fell alcohol on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
County. Oh man, this is real talk. This is before
pre Carolina really struggle goodness is pre uh gentrification. If
you will to Pineville, this is bad. It's something.

Speaker 6 (01:17:09):
I know.

Speaker 5 (01:17:09):
It looks a lot different now, but back then it's
just two lane road road and you got up the
Pine bal and there was the many mar I think
it was the seven eleven or whatever, and that what
we needed.

Speaker 7 (01:17:27):
Oh man, It's like when carains wasn't even a thought.

Speaker 2 (01:17:31):
You're just like here.

Speaker 5 (01:17:34):
Way back in the day.

Speaker 2 (01:17:35):
Hey look, I'm sitting here looking at the skyline of
Charlotte right now. It's a beautiful view and I'm seeing,
you know, all these brand new skyscrapers they put up
for the last ten years. You go back to like
two thousand and three. It looked big to us back
then when they made their like playoff debut against the Cowboys.
But it's growing exponentially now. But I remember when my dad,
and I'm just a little old man talk here. Dad

(01:17:55):
worked at w s o C and Charlotte HITD mid days,
there Country DJ and there you go. He did weekend
weather w s o C Television. Yeah, because why not?
He said, you know what, Jerry Peterson, you need to breather.
I'll come on in through weekends. No meteorology degree, but
I would go into work with him all the time
over there on try on And I remember driving through uptown,

(01:18:16):
uh Charlotte as we call it uptown up here, and
the buildings felt so real, like the Wacovia building. He
told me a story. Ted said, Ernest borgnine came here
one time, said they call it the Watchovia Building because
they watches over shit. And I'm like, dude, you're old.
The point being.

Speaker 5 (01:18:34):
This one last comment. You talk about radio stations, where
at and where they got their start. I remember listening
to w BC Y and the John Boy and Billy
Show right early in the morning. And now how they
went on to start them. But I when they were
local radio.

Speaker 2 (01:18:53):
Baby, Oh man, long time.

Speaker 7 (01:18:55):
I was gonna say, as my radio station, thinety nine seven,
the Fox, long long time home, John Boy and Billy,
my friend, that's like absolute legends, man. You know, obviously
congrats with them on their retirement, obviously calling it quits
after this year. Oh yeah, and you know, just gonna
chill on the beach now, man. Seriously, John Boy earned that, man.
So yeah, it's awesome. It's very cool, no doubt.

Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
About Okay, there you go. It's sure it's made right
in John boy backyard. I'm sure he makes it himself.
Oh we love us some John Boy and Billy there
were legends. But the radio business. Yeah, eventually you move
on some of my favorites growing up. But we'll do

(01:19:36):
this another show. But I had my own influences in
this business, and they all end up moving on. And
we're glad we're here still because we're talking football. Who
gets to talk football for two straight hours every day
we do? It's a blessing. Who do we have to
thank for that? Well, let's start with our friends at
Ingles Markets. They sponsored this fine show. Check them out
at Ingles dash markets dot com. They got you covered
for the holidays. Man, we're gonna have some folks over

(01:19:57):
for turkey and all that good stuff. Never too late
to go buy and them right now get what you
need for the holidays coming up. Thanksgiving is Thursday, breaking news,
so make sure you're all set up with our friends
Roma's Markets. Let's hit a break. We'll come back. NFL
whip around time after.

Speaker 6 (01:20:11):
This game on with John Alice heard everywhere on the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 4 (01:20:18):
While a good semen, nice semen, free tube.

Speaker 2 (01:20:43):
Here we go. We have a good old time here
Live radio in Carolina's made a little road trip at
eighty five y'all, so I won't be stuck in traffic
after the show. Hat Tray as we're live from Charlotte
today this evening. There is a big moment for a
team that many of you care about. Some might be
jumping on the bandwagon right now. It's fine, come on in,

(01:21:05):
there's plenty of room. Carolina Panthers have a Monday night
game tonight against the forty nine Ers. I was here
earlier for our partners at iHeartRadio's own ninety nine seven,
The Foxes. I do every single weekend with my fuddy
E White, who joins us the tailgate show for a
team now, yes, that suddenly is in high demand. Pauli
Falco's back in studio, Paulie. All I can tell you
is there is a local camera crew here. Maybe it's national,

(01:21:27):
I don't know. There is a Queen City News, our
friends from Queen City News. Queen City News. Are you
good to see you? I said hi to the famous people.
Oh my gosh, wait, you guys are on TV. Crazy.
But we're here at Clutch uptown Charlotte. We're on Cedar
right in the shadow of the Bank of America Stadium
that right now, the lights are off because the team
is on the road tonight in San Francisco. But the

(01:21:48):
vibes are good. The crowd has filled up here and
we've got some special guests coming by for our friends
here at ninety nine seven the Fox and I heard
radio I do believe there's a former Panther we affect
and we called the toll Doser the toll Dozer. Yes,
of course, Tolbert, a man that was famously noted for
other things in this rivalry that is the forty nine ers.
Panthers twenty thirteen put Eric Reid basically on the bench

(01:22:12):
because he truck sticked him so hard it open. We
were talking during the break, you and I. He was
like like Scatamoo, rolled up with McCaffrey, rolled up into
like Lawrence Taylor. He's just the one of the best
Panthers I can remember.

Speaker 7 (01:22:26):
Underrated too, It's what we were saying, man, you know,
kind of the last of a dying breed. There's not
a lot of fullbacks left in the NFL. Funny enough,
we'll see one of them tonight with Kyle Hustcheck. You know,
I mean, he gots an absolute beast, But you know,
Tolbert is just one of those guys where you know,
you need them to get yardage or he needed them
in a block.

Speaker 2 (01:22:41):
He was there, he was doing it. It's funny.

Speaker 7 (01:22:43):
I had him on my show earlier this year with
The Fox and we were talking about why, you know
where he got that edge from, and it's because he missed
a block in training camp and lt almost took his
head off afterwards.

Speaker 2 (01:22:53):
That's great.

Speaker 7 (01:22:53):
It's like crazy, you know obviously, Yeah, just casually top
five running back of all time telling you you know,
and he got better and then he's like, hey man,
you can block from me any day, you know, So
you got to stand from lt Man. That's a crazy
way to do it. So obviously this is a great
player and a guy who has a great legacy with
this Panthers team, for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:23:11):
No doubt about it.

Speaker 2 (01:23:12):
Facol. Let's fire up the Bandit's NFL Whip Around time.
As we were coming up on the top of the
hour here, don't forget coming up at seven, Jeremy Green
takes over over time with our friends Jeremy Green right
here in Fox Sports Upstate. But it's our time now.
We got twelve minutes left, so let's put through this.
Ah the slot. That was Thursday Night football. Hey, it
was a better game, more competitive game, Falco. In case
you forgot, the Bills got stomped on pretty good twenty

(01:23:34):
three nineteen. Yeah, that did happen. Two interceptions for Josh Allen.
We'll break that game in more detail throughout the week. Here,
let's get back to these Sunday games. One pm window
Colts Chiefs. What we learned from this game, Trey Falco,
I'll start twenty three to twenty was the final Not
so much that the Chiefs are all the way back
and they're just gonna default into the Super Bowl. I

(01:23:54):
don't know yet. I saw Daniel Jones look a little
more like New York Daniel Jones playing out doors, looking inaccurate.
And that's why I'll start with you, Falco. You can't
totally bank on this team being where they need to
be at the end of the season because it's still
Daniel Jones. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:24:12):
I think a lot of that was overshadowed by the
fact that Jonathan Taylor has been going off this year,
and so that takes a lot off of Danny Dins's plates.
Excuse me, Indiana Jones's plates.

Speaker 2 (01:24:21):
Well, Inniana Jones. He you know, they did the sequel
in Berlin a few weeks ago and it turned out well,
he had the other conquest. Yeah, Indiana Jones are Yeah,
that's right, e White. Here's a team, you know, well,
the Vikings. Uh, it's a hot mess on top of
a hot mess, served on a platter of hot mess. McCarthy.
That is JJ McCarthy twelve of nineteen for two interceptions,

(01:24:42):
eighty seven yards. Packers with a sick defensive performance. They're
great on defense. McCarthy's gotta be a little better than that. Overall,
that's not acceptable to throw for eighty seven yards.

Speaker 7 (01:24:52):
Brett Listen injured offensive line for sure, Ryan Kelly getting
absolutely dog walked by Michael Parsons in many situations. It's
absolutely terrible. I mean, this is you're right, yeah, obviously injuries,
obviously some issues. He gotta hope that the quarterback whisper
and Koc figures it out. And just McCarthy is just
not looking good suddenly. Getting rid of Darnold and Daniel
Jones looks like a mistake for the Vikings won too

(01:25:15):
many mulligans. He should have kept one of those guys.

Speaker 2 (01:25:17):
But we'll see if they can rally I don't think
this quarterback is gonna be the answer. They are now
four and seven Packers, seven to three and one, still
surfing around, and maybe they'll make the playoffs as a
wild card, not if Dan Campbell can help. But they
got a big win yesterday, but they were down early.
Jameis Winston gave us all the entertainment we could take.
Three hundred and sixty six passing yards, two touchdowns, another

(01:25:39):
epic pregame speech. Oh and by the way, he caught
a touchdown pass, and not only did he catch a
touchdown pass, he must the poor bastard and step armed him.
I've never seen anything like it. But they still lose
by seven.

Speaker 3 (01:25:51):
Dray Yeah, I mean I think that pretty much sums
it up. Jameis Winston doing Jameis Winston things.

Speaker 2 (01:25:57):
Not eating a w unfortunately.

Speaker 7 (01:26:02):
Yeah, I was gonna say Jamier gives only eighteen yards
off of the record for the team they held by
mister Barrett Sanders.

Speaker 2 (01:26:07):
The DNS said it's insane and dexter Lawrence. I don't
know why he was on the sidelines during overtime, but
they you could drive your grandmother in a peward through
that hole. That was created by that Lions offensive line
that paved the way to a big win. They're seven
and four now a couple more before we hit our
last break, Patriots. It was not pretty, and the Bengals
give their defense credit, they were gretty. The hung in there.

(01:26:30):
But them's still the Bengals right now, three and eight,
and it doesn't look like Burrow should be in any
sort of hurry to get back as not only Jamar
Chase missed this game because it was a little Hawk
to but you got t Higgins took a concussion to
the head last night. He'll miss some time. Drake made
another solid game. They just find ways to win. As
Chris Berman would say, Patriots are now ten and two,

(01:26:52):
Paul ten and two. I've been saying it. I've been
saying it, Patriots, the Jets and Dolphins fans. It's just like, finally, no,
you got a two year break. The Pats are all
the way back with the DNA clone of Tom Brady apparently.
Seahawks over the Titans, although Camboard was good in this game,
Titans closing the gap for a little bit. Seahawks are

(01:27:13):
quietly eight and three right now, and before we hit
a break here Steelers. They lose by three to the Bears.
The Bears are the kings of the close wins this year.
That will catch up with them at some point. But
you got to hand it to Katleb Williams. Three tunnies
in this game. Mason Rudolph played another Mason Rudolph game.
One hundred and seventy one yards, one touchdown, one pick.
It's not great right now, Paulie. I know you love

(01:27:34):
your Steelers, but the Ravens right now they're coming and
they're not stubbing. No, they're not yet.

Speaker 3 (01:27:38):
It's a it's a It's Steelers football, baby.

Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
Nine and eight. Let's go eight. Well, you know what,
nine and eight better than eight, and nine better than
five and eleven. We've been everywhere with the Panthers, but
things are looking up for Carolina. We're here live from
Clutching Charlotte. Get you ready for Monday Night Football when
we come back, a few more games on the NFL
Whip Round and final thoughts on Tonight's big game on
Monday Night Football.

Speaker 6 (01:28:00):
Game on with John Alis weekdays four to six on
one oh four nine Fox Sports up State.

Speaker 2 (01:28:20):
Oh, we are wrapping up here. It's been a fun
road show is the Carolina Panthers are out west, but
we're here out east in the uptown ports of Charlotte.
Clutch has been a great host today, not only for
the Tailgate Show for ninety nine point seven the Fox
I Heard Soon, but for our Fox Sports Upstate afternoon
show call Game on you know the show Well, Johnny,
let's tree, PAULI wanted to Taco and our special guest

(01:28:41):
today who does so many great things for iHeartRadio and
so many great things for my career, e white Man.
Thanks for stopping in. Man, this is so much fun, dude.
I'm having a blast. Seriously.

Speaker 7 (01:28:49):
I mean no, I mean you've done so much for me, man,
just like, dude, for real. It's like, you know, I
love talking sports and just the fact that we've been
able to build something with you know, the Tailgate Show
and obviously with this as well.

Speaker 2 (01:29:01):
It's like it's great, man. So I appreciate you for real. Man. Yeah,
come on, now let's do another. We're gonna I like
you better.

Speaker 7 (01:29:08):
Yeah, no, no, no, it's you a.

Speaker 2 (01:29:11):
Conversation like this.

Speaker 7 (01:29:13):
Hey man, listen, I'm always here to gas you up.

Speaker 2 (01:29:15):
Trey.

Speaker 7 (01:29:16):
You're doing great, dude, gas up. Moment for you too.
I got you, brother.

Speaker 2 (01:29:20):
There's nothing better than doing live local radio. It's awesome.
Rest of the NFL Whippron comes to you tomorrow. Final
thoughts on tonight's game. You got thirty seconds, you got
a score. Pricks to the mine. What are we thinking tonight?
You know what?

Speaker 7 (01:29:33):
The planets are just aligning properly for this Carolina Panthers team.

Speaker 2 (01:29:37):
I don't.

Speaker 7 (01:29:37):
I don't think it's gonna be flashy. It's not gonna
be a high scoring game. But I do think it's
a w fore Carolina Panthers. I think they squeak it out.
I think we're looking at nineteen to fourteen Ryan Fitzgeralpero
gets some kicks in. I mean even with that that
wind off the bay, I mean, I think he gets
it in.

Speaker 2 (01:29:55):
Man. I got the Panthers winning tonight on the road
in a stunner twenty four to twenty one fit Gerald
walk off in big night for Tommy Trimble Polly. It's
always a pleasure, my man.

Speaker 3 (01:30:05):
Yes, sir, Panther's twenty seven twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
