Tarzan and his friends are confined in the Tower of
the Sun and the forbidden.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
City of Oshair.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Hakiu offers to assist them to escape if Tarzan will
help him recover the Father of Diamonds from Tira's quarters
where she has it concealed. Thom who knows where the
gem is hidden, to recover it with the help of Darno.
As Tarzan goes to release Helen and Magra from the
chamber in which they are held as sacrifices to the
Hessehian god mah Chu, Hakiu leads Tom and Darno to
(02:53):
a secret passage by which they may reach Tira's quarters.
Hakiu himself goes to bring Brian Gregory, held the temple
in a state of suspended animation, to the rendezvous, the
car by which Tarzan and his friends hope to make
their escape over the rim of Tunbaka. As Tom and
Donald proceed along the narrow passage to Tira's quarters, a
(03:14):
giant king cobra with expanded hood and hissing angrily, rises
on its tail, barring their path. Donald, moving slowly noiselessly,
attempts to pass the reptile. The great head stops at
sinister swaying, poises itself and strikes directly at Danah's face.
Tom's hand drops his gon lars, and the confines of
(03:34):
the narrow passage, the heavy let bullet smashes into the
expanded hood of the cobra. The huge head drives harmlessly
over Donald's shoulder to strike the wall behind him convulsively,
writhing and twisting. The deadly serpent drops to the floor.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Tome steps quickly forward. Did it get you, Dano? Are
you all right?
Speaker 4 (03:51):
And we wait home? Its head start the wall air
spread from my face. That was a marvelous shot. Munai jubu, mercy.

I only hope the noise does not bring all the
gods and our share down about our ears.

Meanwhile, Tarzan has left his tower chamber, closed the door,
and mounted a circular flight of stone. Steps to the
upper landing. Four bronze doors confront him. One of them
opens into the room in which Helen and Margret are confined. Unhesitatingly,
he moves to the first. A pressure of his hand
against the stone, the door swings slowly open. A quick

glance reveals an empty chamber. Closing the door, he goes
on to the next. It swings open to his touch, silent, grimly,
motionless as a statue.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
The ape Man stands.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Beside the opening. Abruptly, a tall hesse Herian steps noiselessly
out in the corridor.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
A bronze knife.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Flashes quickst thought, Tarzan catches the other the arm like
bands of steel the fingers of his free hand and
circle the man's throat. A long, silent moment they stands
so then the ape Man dropped the strength Hessei Harrii
inside the room. He closes the door and steps swiftly
to the third bottle. It opens at his touch. Alert Ready,
(08:11):
Tarzan stands.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Waiting, that's funny.
Speaker 9 (08:15):
The door opens and no one is there. Why it
looks like an invitation from heavens knows where for us
to leave you. Helen, do not go out.
Speaker 2 (08:24):

Speaker 9 (08:30):

advance into the chamber, their eyes on the young women.

of concealment, one of the gods catches the movement from

steely fingers deep into his throat. A moment later, the

man tosses the unconscious guard as Hi, come.
Speaker 2 (14:15):

we go out? Down these stairs? Fast? Never mind the noise?

opening into the passage under the street.
Speaker 4 (15:57):

Speaker 2 (16:12):

lotus leaf. Following Hakkeiru's instructions, Tarzan brings forth the small
white file, presses them to sleaf, and the discloses. He

First of all, though the first.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
Two parts were really really strongly paced. I love the
sort of split scene format where we were going back
and forth not between one action pack scene and one
more dialogue driven but two really suspenseful scenes, and then
(34:38):
bringing that together. It's such a great payoff for all
of the action and the way that the adventurers built
up and the way it pays off. I will admit
that when we're often talking about jungle justice or some
of the punishments in ages past or in and remote civilization.
(35:02):
There's usually something in me that goes, oh, that sounds
really harsh, But with a Kiro's plan for punishing wolf
I'm kind of like, okay, fair enough, Yeah, it is horrible,
but the fact is that Wolfe's greed is probably responsible
(35:23):
for nearly all the deaths. I don't think that you
can really blame him too much for Laursen's death, but
everyone else died as a result of his actions or
his grade. Notice the convenient omission as well that he
did with Brian Gregory in explaining, Oh, your father was
(35:46):
killed by natives? Oh really, Tom? And why were the
natives attacking? Would you care to share? Margra meets a
tragic end, but I think her journey through this story
did take a really logical process. I mean, she had
essentially spent this story in between Tarzan and Tom, but
(36:09):
ultimately makes her choice in the end.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
And it was interesting to hear.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Kdell play a much more tender take on Tarzan. And
to be fair, there's a reason why we haven't heard that,
as Tarzan wasn't present for most of the deaths, which
were relatively instantaneous. His reaction doesn't speak to any particular
(36:36):
romantic feelings. It shows a kinder, gentler side of the character,
and I think it works for the most part. If
I had one complaint about the story, and I don't
think it even really be a complaint, it's more of
a nitpick. A minor complaint is the whole Tom speaks
(37:00):
this ancient Egyptian thing and him keeping it from the group,
and him setting it up as this big thing, and
hardly anything happens to it. In towards the end, he
does have that encounter with the priest, but his use
of the language was kind of out of nowhere, and
(37:22):
it served no purpose since we'd established that the educated
and ruling classes and assuming and i'd assume the priest
as well, all already spoke English. So there was no
reason for it unless the writers were like, Okay, you
know that thing that we highlighted, Well, we're coming back
(37:43):
to it and we're showing it. Well what does he
do with it? He brings it back up and he
shows it, And I don't know, it may have been
a case where they were thinking of another direction of
the story and then they just kept coming up with
all these actions scenes, and it came down to you.
Now we can have Tarzan fighting pterodactyls, or we can
(38:06):
have Tome influencing the leaders through Macavellian machinations while speaking
ancient Egyptian. It's not hard to see what they chose.
But this Cereal was a lot of fun. I've really
enjoyed bringing it to you. Now we do have another
(38:29):
serialized Tarzan story, and that one will actually start in
two weeks press Cereal. We will be taking next week

the Sun and the forbidden.

Hakiu offers to assist them to escape if Tarzan will
help him recover the Father of Diamonds from Tira's quarters
where she has it concealed. Thom who knows where the
gem is hidden, to recover it with the help of Darno.
As Tarzan goes to release Helen and Magra from the
chamber in which they are held as sacrifices to the
Hessehian god mah Chu, Hakiu leads Tom and Darno to
(02:53):
a secret passage by which they may reach Tira's quarters.
Hakiu himself goes to bring Brian Gregory, held the temple
in a state of suspended animation, to the rendezvous, the
car by which Tarzan and his friends hope to make
their escape over the rim of Tunbaka. As Tom and
Donald proceed along the narrow passage to Tira's quarters, a
(03:14):
giant king cobra with expanded hood and hissing angrily, rises
on its tail, barring their path. Donald, moving slowly noiselessly,
attempts to pass the reptile. The great head stops at
sinister swaying, poises itself and strikes directly at Danah's face.
Tom's hand drops his gon lars, and the confines of
(03:34):
the narrow passage, the heavy let bullet smashes into the
expanded hood of the cobra. The huge head drives harmlessly
over Donald's shoulder to strike the wall behind him convulsively,
writhing and twisting. The deadly serpent drops to the floor.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Tome steps quickly forward. Did it get you, Dano? Are
you all right?
Speaker 4 (03:51):
And we wait home? Its head start the wall air
spread from my face. That was a marvelous shot. Munai jubu, mercy.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
It is nothing. Come, let us go on now.
Speaker 5 (04:02):
I only hope the noise does not bring all the
gods and our share down about our ears.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
There may be more of those cobrasier Toms, be careful.

the diamond which is no longer there.

Meanwhile, Tarzan has left his tower chamber, closed the door,
and mounted a circular flight of stone. Steps to the
upper landing. Four bronze doors confront him. One of them
opens into the room in which Helen and Margret are confined. Unhesitatingly,
he moves to the first. A pressure of his hand
against the stone, the door swings slowly open. A quick
(07:26):
glance reveals an empty chamber. Closing the door, he goes
on to the next. It swings open to his touch, silent, grimly,
motionless as a statue.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
The ape Man stands.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Beside the opening. Abruptly, a tall hesse Herian steps noiselessly
out in the corridor.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
A bronze knife.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Flashes quickst thought, Tarzan catches the other the arm like
bands of steel the fingers of his free hand and
circle the man's throat. A long, silent moment they stands
so then the ape Man dropped the strength Hessei Harrii
inside the room. He closes the door and steps swiftly
to the third bottle. It opens at his touch. Alert Ready,
(08:11):
Tarzan stands.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Waiting, that's funny.
Speaker 9 (08:15):
The door opens and no one is there. Why it
looks like an invitation from heavens knows where for us
to leave you. Helen, do not go out.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
You may be another trap. You're wrong this time Margara
the sun? Why? Why? Dozen?
Speaker 9 (08:30):
How did you get there?
Speaker 10 (08:32):
Why we thought you was allowed our guards in the
tower wait, I closed the door, but Jera.
Speaker 9 (08:38):
Said you and Paul and an Tom were to be
sent to some kind of mind and.
Speaker 10 (08:42):
You two are to be sacrificed. I know, Haku told
us we're going to no minds and you're not going
to be sacrificed.
Speaker 2 (08:49):

as soon as Tome and Darnal turn and Hakiru.

As she places her hand on the opening stone, home
steps noiselessly from behind the bench, crosses the room swiftly
to pause directly behind the unsuspecting Tira. As the little
(10:00):
shrine door opens, she leans forward to peer into the
empty cavity. She straightens steps back into ourt on holmes
waiting arms. With a quick hand, he spoils her cry
of amazement.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
And fight, my queen, to that cry out again, I
shall twist that beautiful throat as quickly as HM.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
That is better. Now let us talk, as friend there,
come down on.
Speaker 9 (10:26):
Tom, well down, what sick you here in the chamber
of shows.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
We have already found that which we see God gracious Tira,
And this time you will not be given the opportunity
to break your word.
Speaker 9 (10:41):

Speaker 11 (10:43):
You were placed in the tower of the Sun, out
of reach of the Council of thirteen, until I could

In Helen's and Magra's chamber, Tarzan warns the young woman
to silence with a quick gesture and leaps behind the
door as it swings slowly open. Two armed hesse Harrians
advance into the chamber, their eyes on the young women.
As the heap man moves noiselessly out from his place
of concealment, one of the gods catches the movement from

the corner.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
Of his eye.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
He turns, clips out his bronze sword, calls to his
companion Hi Hi.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
With his shout.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
He leaps forward, weapon up raised to strike Tarzan slips
under the blow, catches the guard by armam and waist,
lifts him high over his head, hurls him head foremost
against the wall. The second Hessi Harrion makes a rush
for the open door. Before he has taken three steps,
tars and catches it. The man's mouth opens, the shout
steely fingers deep into his throat. A moment later, the
(14:12):
man tosses the unconscious guard as Hi, come.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Mug helen. You've got to move fast. Now where do
we go out? Down these stairs? Fast? Never mind the noise?
Is there any more guards? I'll take care of them. Wait,
we'll close this door now, come on, cool, not time
to room?
Speaker 9 (14:29):
Do we meet here?
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Remind them they'll probably be waiting for us. It's a
snow car for all to meet.
Speaker 9 (14:34):

street to the edge of the city. It's a long

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Tower, one of those guards.
Speaker 11 (15:08):
He's raising me alarm, look at the no building beside
the tower.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Soon as they're pouring.

Back. In the secret passage leading from Tira's quarters Toom
and Donald stagger along under the weight of the Father
of Diamonds and its golden disc as swiftly as they can.
Howling past Cobra, they gained the dim, high vaulted corridor
of the temple. Hurry along it toward the little door

First of all, though the first.

Two parts were really really strongly paced. I love the
sort of split scene format where we were going back
and forth not between one action pack scene and one
more dialogue driven but two really suspenseful scenes, and then
(34:38):
bringing that together. It's such a great payoff for all
of the action and the way that the adventurers built
up and the way it pays off. I will admit
that when we're often talking about jungle justice or some
of the punishments in ages past or in and remote civilization.
(35:02):
There's usually something in me that goes, oh, that sounds
really harsh, But with a Kiro's plan for punishing wolf
I'm kind of like, okay, fair enough, Yeah, it is horrible,
but the fact is that Wolfe's greed is probably responsible
(35:23):
for nearly all the deaths. I don't think that you
can really blame him too much for Laursen's death, but
everyone else died as a result of his actions or
his grade. Notice the convenient omission as well that he
did with Brian Gregory in explaining, Oh, your father was
(35:46):
killed by natives? Oh really, Tom? And why were the
natives attacking? Would you care to share? Margra meets a
tragic end, but I think her journey through this story
did take a really logical process. I mean, she had
essentially spent this story in between Tarzan and Tom, but
(36:09):
ultimately makes her choice in the end.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
And it was interesting to hear.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Kdell play a much more tender take on Tarzan. And
to be fair, there's a reason why we haven't heard that,
as Tarzan wasn't present for most of the deaths, which
were relatively instantaneous. His reaction doesn't speak to any particular
(36:36):
romantic feelings. It shows a kinder, gentler side of the character,
and I think it works for the most part. If
I had one complaint about the story, and I don't
think it even really be a complaint, it's more of
a nitpick. A minor complaint is the whole Tom speaks
(37:00):
this ancient Egyptian thing and him keeping it from the group,
and him setting it up as this big thing, and
hardly anything happens to it. In towards the end, he
does have that encounter with the priest, but his use
of the language was kind of out of nowhere, and
(37:22):
it served no purpose since we'd established that the educated
and ruling classes and assuming and i'd assume the priest
as well, all already spoke English. So there was no
reason for it unless the writers were like, Okay, you
know that thing that we highlighted, Well, we're coming back
(37:43):
to it and we're showing it. Well what does he
do with it? He brings it back up and he
shows it, And I don't know, it may have been
a case where they were thinking of another direction of
the story and then they just kept coming up with
all these actions scenes, and it came down to you.
Now we can have Tarzan fighting pterodactyls, or we can
(38:06):
have Tome influencing the leaders through Macavellian machinations while speaking
ancient Egyptian. It's not hard to see what they chose.
But this Cereal was a lot of fun. I've really
enjoyed bringing it to you. Now we do have another
(38:29):
serialized Tarzan story, and that one will actually start in
two weeks press Cereal. We will be taking next week
