Tony Sheridan era un rocker britannico già conosciuto nel Regno Unito, è stato ospite fisso in un programma televisivo e cantante di supporto nel tour inglese di Eddie Cochran e Gene Vincent. Gene Vincent pionere del rockabilly, autore e inerprete di Be-Bop-a-Lula, nel 1960 incontrerà i Beatles ad Amburgo. Il brano My Bonnie con l’introduzione in tedesco interpretato da Tony Sheridan & The Beat Brothers è stato pubblicato il 23 ottobre 1961 dalla Polydor con sede in Germania: sono state vendute 100.000 copie. Nel negozio di dischi di Brian Epstein a Liverpool diversi ragazzi richiedevano My Bonnie dei Beatles.
