On this edition of Live from Hollywood…It’s Paranormal Tonight! host Dan Harary will interview Shanelle Schanz, the Granddaughter of Kenneth Arnold. In June 1947, Kenneth Arnold, while flying his plane near Mt. Rainier in Washington State, witnessed nine silvery discs hurtling quickly past him in the sky. Upon reporting this sighting to the press, the local newspapers coined the term “Flying Saucers” to describe the craft that he saw. Shanelle will discuss her grandfather’s famous encounter, his book, “The Coming of the Saucers,” how he reached out to Presidents Harry S. Truman and Dwight D. Eisenhower, and her thoughts about where we stand today with the rapidly burgeoning Disclosure Movement.

you go, there's the Three Musketeersback there Okay, So our guest tonight
is Chanelle Shans. She's the granddaughterof Kenneth Arnold. And many of you
probably know who Kenneth Arnold is,and maybe some of you don't. Kenneth
Arnold is the first man to reporta citing of flying saucers. This was

(03:46):
over Mount Rainier in Washington State,June twenty fourth, nineteen forty seven.
Chanell grew up close to her grandfather, and before he died, he told
her always think for yourself and don'ttrust the government. Sounds like wise words
from a wise man. When KennethArnold died in nineteen eighty four, he
told his family it wasn't the righttime for disclosure. But Chanell today feels

(04:10):
that perhaps the time has finally arrivednow and we're going to talk about that.
Chanell grew up in Boise, Idaho. She moved to Vancouver, Washington,
earned a Pharmacy technician A degree fromClark College. Then she worked at
a hospital in Portland, Oregon, and then she took time off from school
to raise her two daughters. Fromtwenty sixteen to twenty twenty, Chanell completed

(04:32):
a philosophy AA degree from the Collegeof Western Idaho, and then in early
twenty twenty three, about a yearand a half ago, she republished her
grandfather's famous iconic book, The Comingof the Saucers, which we will be
talking about. Chanelle has been aguest on Coast to Coast with George Nori,
and she's appeared on many podcasts. She says she's always been very proud

(04:55):
of her grandfather and how he changedthe world. And without question, her
grandfather Kenneth Arnolds nineteen forty seven sightingis considered by virtually everyone to be the
start of the modern day UFO era. Nothing serious and with that, ladies
and gentlemen and kids of all ages, and my brother Race Hobbes, my

(05:16):
producer, let's bring in Chanel.Hello. Hey, yeah, there's one
of your dogs, right or wasthat a cat? I can't Yeah,
no, that's Sasha. She decidedthat she wanted to be seen, So
yeah, Hasasha, I've seen UFOsis like your grandfather also, or she
could have. I mean she's reallyinto looking up in the sky and looking

(05:39):
at scrolls in the trees. Soyou know what, can imagine if animals
were more attuned to extraterrestrials than peoplewho know, Maybe they are right,
who knows. Oh yeah, I'veheard some stories about like dogs before sighting
happens, they act on. Soyeah, dogs dogs. I'm sure I
have seen some flying saucers just thequick. Aside my daughter. I've helped

(06:01):
my daughter move out of her apartmentSaturday into a much better apartment. She's
been in the apartment now in WestLA for three years. There is a
ghost who lives in my daughter's bedroomand for three years, her little dog
wakes up at like three point thirtyevery morning, SIT's on the bed and
watches something walk from the closet tothe door every day for three years.

(06:24):
Wow, so there's clearly there's aghost. Anyway, I don't want to
waste time with that. Thank youfor being on my show. We have
a little cool little thing that thereason I want to do for you,
or a race if we could pullup that video please. An ordinary man

(07:04):
in an ordinary street in America. But this man started the nineteen forty seven
way sightings that swept the world whenhe claimed to have seen from his mountain
rescue plane nine disc like objects flyingat the speed of approximately fifteen hundred miles
per hour near Mount Rainier the dataJune twenty fourth, nineteen forty seven.

(07:26):
Later, when asked by a reportedto describe how they flew, All said
their motion was like saurcers skipping overwater. In the papers the next day,
the world first saw the term flyingsaucer. It began and here we

(07:53):
are and we're back. So yeah, that's a cool little video. Osha,
what is saucer cool? By theway, saucer COO. I mean,
it was possibly what's it called. It's probably something that my grandfather had
for saucer co is a it's awebsite owned by a couple of guys in

(08:15):
Los Angeles that they owned like aclothing company there. Yeah. Yeah,
I met them in Big Bear Lake, California about six seven years ago.
There were two young kids now three. There were two brothers and one of
them's girlfriend and their father was therehelping them set up and they had a

(08:35):
display there and they make some ofthe best UFO fashion that you can get.
Oh, that's very cool. Twoyoung entrepreneur college kids. They were
really impressive. And that's they makethese videos for, you know, just
to promote the subject. Okay, thank you. That totally threw me off

(08:56):
because I mean, I didn't really, I I don't really heard of that.
Yeah, me too, me too, Shan. I just I found
it online and I'm like, youknow, listen, your your grandfather's not
weathersit anymore. So I sow it'dsome kind of little illustration. I thought
it would be a lot of fun. Okay, race, Let's pull up
slide number one and I will startmy questions and Chanel feel free to rock

(09:18):
and roll. Okay, race numberone? Please? Okay, all right,
So, Chanel, your grandfather,Kenneth Arnold had a remarkable experience right
June twenty fourth, nineteen forty seven, changed his life and launched a modern
day UFO era. What was yourgrandfather's experience that day, you know,
as as what you've heard from himor from your family, Well, there

(09:41):
was a lot of ridicule in debunkingand harassment that he received just by hip
reporting what he has seen, andhim and Ray Palmer made up a word
for that, calling it the stemyfactor. But they just believe that,
you know it. It was thefirst first sighting ever reported, and my

(10:05):
grandfather found faith in the waspy Bible. It's not really so known anymore,
but in the Waspy Bible. Theytalk about astral entities that travel in vehicles
along roadways that link levels of plateausin the spiritual world that exists from six
inches to one hundred miles above thesurface of the earth, and the crafts

(10:28):
from both worlds. And my grandfathertotally believed that the flying saucers, it
was like a spiritual experience. Hesaw him about eight times in his lifetime.
He wasn't ever public with his othersightings. And in this one article
I have, he does talk abouthis eighth siding in Susanville, California,

(10:48):
and those craft almost looked transparent tohim, and they almost like looked like
something that would be alive. Buthe definitely, you know, spent thirty
thousand dollars of his own money, you know, investigating the subject in his
lifetime, and the postmaster knew exactlywhere he lived. He got correspondence from

(11:11):
all over the world, you know, they just he there was a couple
of churches that wanted to may namehim a prophet. Wow, And that
was pretty you know, heavy, and you know, he definitely didn't want
to be considered that way at all. He just was like an eagle boy
scout and he felt like it washis due to report what he saw.

(11:31):
And he never even realized, youknow what type of title wave it would
create. Right, But you know, yeah, when he died in nineteen
eighty four, it wasn't the righttime for disclosure. And now it is
the right time to talk about thissubject. And you know, it happened
to his side. He happened twoweeks before Roswell. So you know,
a lot of people talk about Roswell, but I mean they forgot that,

(11:52):
you know, two weeks before wasthe first sighting by my grandfather. Right,
it's remarkable, It's wonderful. Racenumber two. Please, we have
just a couple of nice shots. Here's another little animation that's supposed to be
your grandfather, Mount Rainier a chanelle. In two thousand and eight, I
was at es Seti Ranch near MountAdams, at James Gilliland's es Seti Ranch.

(12:18):
I had a profound UFO experience personallymyself in two thousand and eight.
And Mount Adams is the next mountaindown. It's like a cousin to Mount
Rainier. So that mountain range clearlyhas something going on, you know,
Yeah, I totally believe they're portalsto another dimension. These are multi dimensional
craft. I'm pretty sure they are. I mean that's what a lot of
people are coming to grips with now. They're not just from all over in

(12:43):
space. They're multi dimensional craft, and they can be coming from the dimension
that we get to for when wedie. I mean, it's just like
a deep subject in my family. And of course we don't know until we
die exactly what happens. But yeah, and then it's hard to report back,
right, Yeah, it's hard toreport back. Uh. You know,
my grandfather he just felt like itwas his dued to report what he
saw, and it just it startedthis summer of saucers. Once he saw

(13:07):
what you saw, everyone else startsseeing flying saucers and they can't explain it
to this day. Fabulous Race numberthree. Please again, it's another just
another little one, two, three, four, five. See, I
want to make sure there's nine.He saw nine silvery disks? Ye,
all right, a race number four. Okay, this is a nice little

(13:28):
quote there. If it's not madeby our science or Army Air Force,
I'm inclined to believe that it's ofextraterrestrial origin. Your grandfather believed in extra
terrestrial life. Oh yeah, thisnever just fantastic. Now that's an artist
rendering, obviously of one of thenine that he saw. Do you have
that original? Is that the onemy mother? My mother has the original

(13:52):
and I have a copy of itin my house hanging up. And I
have also tattoos of that on myback. Nine of them, do you
really? Yeah, they changed.I don't really have a picture to share,
but they changed formation as well,So I mean I didn't really render
him correctly because my mom, KimArnold, definitely you know, had to
make a point of that. Butmy but they're good, you know,

(14:15):
they're good. They're the rempedition thateverybody is used to seeing the crescent shaped
with a like cockpit cock pit kindof in the middle. You know,
that's trans translution, and uh,that's the most common one. But we
also, you know, made someflying saucer jewelry that's in the family,
and you know, it's weird. You know, my grandfather was a pioneer

(14:39):
of this, and he was definitely, definitely very I've always been very proud
of him. In the second grade, I told my second grade teacher,
my grand after he had passed away, you know who he was, and
he was the first pot to reportflying saucers over marineers. She's like,
oh, that's so sweet, honey. And that's like nineteen eighty four just
not the right time, you know. Really nowadays, you know, there's

(15:03):
a KNOCKI movie coming out, there'sall sorts of world uh you know,
uh what people are thinking of howwe were created and whatnot. You know,
there's just a lot of different ideasnow of absolutely really who we really
could be and are, Yeah, who created us as well? You know,
they possibly you know, are theones that the missing DNA whoever they

(15:24):
may be, and they have youknow, created our DNA to be the
way the way that we are.But I've heard that, you know,
they fly over active missile sites andthe missiles will shut off like nuclear missiles.
Yes, and Sallis talks about that, right absolutely right, Race number
five. All right, So thisI think was his original drawing, right

(15:52):
is that right? Yeah? Theflying saucer as he probably even put it
in is he was going to doseminars at the Knife and Fork Club and
he made pamphlets and I'm sure that'spart of it, and possibly not,
I guess, Yeah, it saysthey did not appear to me to whirl

(16:14):
or spin, but something in fixedposition seemed in fixed position, traveling as
I have made drawings. Yeah, look at that. That's so cool.
That's really cool. Okay, Race, you can take that one down,
all right. You know, I'dlike to read you a little paragraph I've
just found the other day. I'vebeen reading this book called Crash at Corona.

(16:38):
It's really like the true story ofRoswell by Stanton Friedman and John Berliner.
And I know you knew Stanton Friedman. I never had a Ya.
No, we're going to show thatpic. We're going to show that picture.
But let me read this to youbecause this is from the Majestic twelve
documents. I just read this theother day. It says, on June
twenty fourth, nineteen forty seven,as civilian flying over the Cascade Mountains in

(17:02):
the state of Washington, observed nineflying shaped aircraft traveling information at a high
rate of speed. Although this wasnot the first known sighting of such objects,
it was the first to gain widespreadattention in the public media. That's
thanks to your grandfather. Hundreds ofreports of sightings of similar objects followed,

(17:22):
many of These came from highly crediblemilitary and civilian sources. These reports resulted
in independent efforts by several different elementsof the military to ascertain the nature and
purpose of these objects in the interestof national defense. A number of witnesses
were interviewed. There were several unsuccessfulattempts to utilize aircraft and efforts to pursue

(17:45):
these disks in flight. Public reactionboarded on near hysteria at times. In
spite of these efforts, little ofsubstance was learned about these objects until a
local rancher reported that one had crashedin a remote region of north New Mexico,
seventy five miles northwest west of Roswell. So, like you were saying,

(18:06):
your grandfather's event, and he toldthe media, and he was fourth
pread, and he told the worldwas two weeks before the Roswell crash.
Your grandfather really started something. Buthe's your grandfather's discussed in the Majestic twelve
documents. Isn't that great? Ohyeah, I'm sure we have copies of
that in the files. Because I'veseen Majestic twelve documents and Project Blue Book

(18:30):
documents, and I've had some interestingdocuments that I like my friend that worked
at a radio station. I gavehim copies of him and it admitted that,
you know, the flying saucers andaliens are real pretty much. And
it was like Project blue Book documentsand we make copies of them, and
he passed them out at the radiostation. That's awesome. Did your dad

(18:52):
meete? He probably did. Didyour dad ever meet doctor Jay Allen Heinech,
do you know? Oh? Yeah, See, Heinich was a bunker
and he at first it made mygrandfather furious because he said that what my
grandfather saw was swamp gas and itwas definitely not swamp gas. He said,
what your grandfather so at mount Rainier? Yeah, like, no way,

(19:15):
Yeah, there's no swamp gas inmountain Are. But anyhow, he
eventually became a believer in my grandfathertowards the end, I've heard, because
yeah, in the beginning he hewas just a debunker. But he became
a believer right here at the endof his career. Well, I'm good
friends with Paul Heinek. I'll seehim at contact in the desert. I
will ask him. I'll ask himfor you. I'll let you know.

(19:37):
I promised race number six please shouldknow your grandfather wrote a book called The
Coming of the Saucers. I printedit out from something you sent me,
so I haven't read it yet.I really want to, but can you
please tell us a little bit aboutwhat that book was all about. Well,
the first hundred pages are about hissighting that you know, when he
saw the nine flying saucers over mountainthere, and then the rest of the

(20:00):
book is about the Murray Island incident. And Ray Palmer had a friend named
Fred Chrisman and they devised this Idon't know, Like they say that a
UFO's crashed near Moury Island in Seattle, like you're in Washington. It's outside
of Seattle. And I supposedly Ieven have pieces of this craft. It's

(20:22):
supposedly burnt and fill out the sky. You have pieces of it? Yeah,
because I went to the Mury Islandfestival that they have there, and
there's this man that definitely like financedthe festival, and it's all the men
in Black festival because with the MurrayIsland incident, it's the first the first

(20:47):
of men in black, like thefirst case case of men in black,
and so they call it the Menin Black Festival. And it was so
much fun and you know, Ilike sold books there and whatnot. But
supposedly this happened before my grandfather's citingeven and he investigated it because Ray Palmer
from Fate magazine paid him two hundreddollars to fly at a Seattle to investigate

(21:08):
it with Fred Cristman and his friendHarold Dahl. And you know, it
possibly definitely could have happened, butyou know, it's kind of an urban
legend at this point. It's beenso long that you know, my grandfather,
it was definitely something that happened.Like the hotel was tapped. There

(21:29):
were two Air Force men and theywere the men they went through my grandfather's
mail that took out the letters thatsaid that they were naming him a prophet,
prophet, you know, these churchreligious leaders. But the two air
Force guys that crashed near Kelso therewere my grandfather's friends. And he was
so scared when he was flying outof Shah Hayles or you know the Seattle

(21:52):
area, his fuel line was shutoff and he almost crashed his airplane and
luckily I did it okay, Butyou know, for summer reason, you
know, the two military air airman, you know, and the Air Force.
Air Force was new, it wasthe air Force. It did perish,
Yeah, and it just scared thedeath out of him. But yeah,

(22:14):
it was definitely something that happened.Yeah, Grace, can we see
number seven? This is it?So this is nineteen. This is one
year later after his signing in nineteenforty eight. I guess this is Ray
Palmer's was Ray Palmer was Fate Magazine? Is that right? Yeah? Pom,
So this is the truth, thetruth about the Flying Saucer. What
year did your grandfather publish The Comingof the Saucer? Nineteen fifty two?

(22:37):
I think it was five years afterhis signing, So so this cover was
preceded the book. Interesting, Uhhuh, there's I have a copy of
the book that has that on it. That's really cool. That's what I
don't know. Did you ever seethe very first Playboy magazine ever had Marilyn
Monroe on the cover. Did youever see that? Yeah? This is

(22:57):
like in youuphology, This would belike Playboy with Marilynd I know, this
is definitely that's awesome, Dan.Was this the first edition of Fate magazine
in forty eight? It says volumesomething number something. You know what?
Race? I don't know, butI think it was the first edition.

(23:17):
I think. Isn't that cool?It could be, it could be.
It's like it's like Playboy with MarilynMonroe. All right, Race number eight
please? All right? This wasinteresting. I'd never heard of this before.
Obviously they did this in sixty nine, but your your grandfather's I guess
time did a special report and sortof dedicated it to your grandfather. Do

(23:37):
you have a copy of this?Oh? No, I would love a
copy of that. I'll have tolook for that on eBay. Oh have
you not heard of this? No, I've never heard of this. That
was right in nineteen sixty nine, though, that's probably why. Isn't that
cool? Yeah? As my motherwould say, is my mother would say,
I found it on the Google,on the Google machine. I found
this on the Google machine. Butyeah, I thought that was awesome because

(23:59):
look, you're my father's name isright up there. Oh yeah, very
cool? Okay, Race number nineplease all right? This Chanel blew me
away? Oh yeah. April sixth, April sixth, nineteen forty eight.
One year later, your grandfather wrotea note to President Harry Truman, and
it says your honor, I understandthere is enough evidence on hand by our

(24:22):
intelligence and the people of your greatcountry, of your great country to announce
that flying discs, flying saucers, and other reported strange missiles that are being
seen by reliable people throughout the worlddaily our aircraft from outer space. You
know, we are not making orflying these aircraft. And the United States

(24:45):
is the most scientific nation on earth. Why should not America be at least
the first to announce this great discovery? Kenneth Ornold, Now you realize,
Chanel, your grandfather is the pioneerof disclosure. Oh yeah, this this
note to President Truman and forty thisis the first document I've ever seen that

(25:07):
is deeply and sincerely requesting that thePresident of the United States tell the world
about disclosed ets. And I thoughtthis was just wonderful. Yeah too.
My mom has a copy of that, if not the original, But my

(25:30):
mom's been like, you know,we inherited the estate, so we have
a lot of the documents that mygrant. I'll tell you that if you
want, if you sold that atcontact in the desert, like at an
auction, I guess you gets it. Really just real quick, we have
to take a break. But realquick race number ten, Just real quick
number ten. Here we can getthis sec and your your grandfather met President

(25:53):
Eisenhower too. Yeah, he ranfor governor of Idaho and so on the
campaign trail he met President Eisenhower. It's just awesome. I just love that.
Okay, let's take a break pacingbills. When we come back and
talk to Chanel about our grandfather ona personal level and a Batchel's life on
a personal level, it'll be rightback a UFO conference enthusiasts, We've got

(26:15):

(30:18):
tonight if I could speak English andDanhurrari, let's bring back Chanel and there
she is race. Can we lookat number eleven please? Okay? So
she Now, let's talk about KennethArnold, the person right. Where was
he from? What did he do? You know during his earlier years?
You give us a flavor of whothis your wonderful grandfather? Who he was?

(30:41):
Yeah, he grew up in NorthDakota and he was an eagle scout
And this is his picture of himcompleting his eagle scout for the boy Scouts.
Look look how proud he is,right, Yeah, he definitely,
you know, felt like it washis duty, like the cub scout to
report and what he saw, youknow. So he you know, and

(31:02):
he did the right thing by doingit. But he used to say he
was unfortunate goat that did it becauseof all the you know, debunking.
He would always you know, getfrom people that didn't believe, you know,
because it was it was so newback then, you know. But
then it did start the summer summersaucers. Everybody started seeing flying saucers after
my grandfather's siding. And they don'tthey don't know why. But he definitely

(31:26):
was the pioneer who started the modernUFO era. He did Chanel. Do
you think he ever wished that ithadn't happened. No, No, he
he uh, you know, probablydied a little disappointed because he kind of
let the copyright of his book gobecause he was so sick with cancer at

(31:47):
the end of his life. Buthe was just he felt like he never
got an answer from the government. He had a friend that had a real
to reel a UFO and he sentit in to the government, you know,
explain this UFO in this in thistape, and they cut it out,
sent it back to him and saidthere's nothing here to see. And
he was so irate. But youknow, he was going to do seminars

(32:10):
at the Fork and Knife Club, but then he was kind of shut down
before he could even do him whenhe had, you know, made pamphlets
and I do have one, andit's it was like the Flying Saucer as
I saw it. It sought byKenneth Arnold. This is all laminated.
But the whole thing with that isthey were still investigating his case and they

(32:31):
didn't want him speaking public. Theymade it a crime to talk about UFOs
almost you know, his friend inthe military said, you know, can
the military can eliminate their own men? You really should be quiet about this
subject, and kind of silenced him. But his friend in turn saw you
know, he became a believer becausethey both saw UFO banking in a cloud,

(32:53):
because they were both pilots and theywere flying one day together and they
both saw you faux banking in acloud. So his friend was a believer.
But you know, it's just he, my grandfather felt like he really
couldn't be public with it. That'swhy in his lifetime he was never really
a member of any national organization oranything. He did do the nineteen seventy

(33:15):
seven UFO Congress and that was likeprobably the last main thing he did besides
his interview he did in England.I think that's part of the clipsure was
showing in the beginning now when hewas very old and you know whatnot.
But yeah, he just you know, kind of was a recluse after everything

(33:35):
and all the fame that he got, you know, from being the first
person to report flying saucers. Incredibleraise number twelve, number twelve. Let's
see what we have here. Thisis a nice picture. That's a cool
car. Do you know what thatwas? Oh yeah, one of his
cars. No, yeah, itwas one of his cars. And this
is in Boise, Idaho, youknow where we live, and he's just

(33:57):
looking up in the sky, lookingfor an answer, looking for the next
sty Your grandfather was a good lookingman, yeah right, he looked like
an actor almost. Well, gosh, they put him in Twin Peaks.
They made him a character in thebook Twin Peaks, that Kenneth Arnold that
you know. I don't know ifthey say he's flying saucers in the bookcase,
I haven't read it. But theyactually made him a character in Twin

(34:19):
Peaks because you know, Twin Peaksis in the is kind of in the
northwest area. That's right. Iraised number thirteen. This is a cool
one. Did you ever Did youever fly with him or you were Oh?
No, I you know, hepassed away when I was seven.
But you know, my mom flewa lot with my grandfather in the rural
areas because you know, he soldfire safety equipment, so that was his

(34:43):
business and he needed airplanes to flyinto rural areas. And he was also
part of Idaho Search and Rescue andhe would fly prisoners back and forth to
UH prisons in Idaho. So hedefinitely, you know, was a very
well respect man. And this islike in his older years. I'm guessing

(35:04):
this is taken in the seventies andthat was probably his last airplane. Very
cool. Yeah, he had hishell, both of his aeroplanes, number
fourteen. Race. All right,so Chanel, you sent this to me?
Is that? What is that again? Okay? So he had a
uranium mine and I couldn't believe thathe was holding uranium and he died of
colon cancer. Go figure, hedied of cancer. But this is uranium

(35:29):
from his uranium mine, and itactually it collapsed, so he had to
abandon the project. But I justcouldn't believe he was holding uranium. But
that's actually uranium. That's amazing.Wow, they're crazy. Unfortunately, you
know, unfortunately cancer is probably leavingthat ore and going right into his bumps
of his hands. Oh yeah, definitely before we knew you know, what

(35:51):
would happen. Yeah, but that'sa hell of an interesting picture. Yeah,
Race fifteen, all right, thisis your grandmother, I assume my
grandmother Doris, and my grandfather, and it looks like they're just like at
a you know, a dinner dateor something. But they're a cute couple,
very sweet. Did you were youclose to both of them? Yeah?

(36:14):
My grandmother, Grandy, she liveduntil I was thirteen, and so
she died in the dream house mygrandfather built for her, and you know,
my mom inherited it and we're stilltrying to keep it in the family.
But it's got like a view. And you know, my grandfather bought
a lot of property before developers snatchedit up here in town. And and

(36:34):
my my grandfather and grandmother, youknow, he did build her her dream
house, you know, so heloved her a lot. They looked like
a very nice couple. Yeah. And they looked like they were meant to
be together, good looking people.Yeah, very cool. Okay, raise
sixteen. Okay, so now howold this is you and your grandfather?

(36:54):
How old? How old were you? How old were you when you,
you know, first started to hearabout your father's amazing stories and oh it's
fun as long as I kind ofremember this is him holding you when I
was a baby. But yeah,as long as I can remember, I
mean, I thought there are aliensand looking at through my window, in
the bathroom all the time. Imean, I just grew up around the

(37:15):
subject of the paranormal and New Agebeliefs of my family because I really,
you know, religion didn't explain anything. It's almost like you have to start
your own new religion to figure thingsout, you know, about like you
know, why the Book of Enochwas taken out of the Bible. I
mean, like the flying Sauces. The flying Sauces have always been here and

(37:38):
he, you know, he waschosen by God to wake everyone up.
And I'll understand why we forgot aboutthem, you know, to begin with.
There's so much evidence. I interviewedRichard Dolan a few weeks ago,
and I, like you, Oshan, I believe that they've been here for
a very long time. I believe, strongly believe they helped to craft modern

(38:00):
day mankind, because you know, our ancestors were, you know, monkey
men with sticks and twigs making fire, trying to make fire, and now
we're sending things to Mars. AndRichard Dolan said, Dan, you know,
I've been studying this for years andyears, and in his opinion,
he doesn't think that's the case. And I said, Richard, have you
ever had this debate with Eric Bondantikinor Giorgio Zukolos, and he goes,

(38:23):
I'd love to and I said,Richard, I would pay money to see
that debate out of stage. Youknow, raised number seventeen. All right,
so that's you and your mommy andyour granddad. Tell us about tell
us about your mommy. Oh mymom, she just love loves me a
lot. We lost my brother lastyear, so that's been really hard on

(38:45):
the family. But this is beforehe was born. This is in This
is the house my grandfather built thatyou can kind of see the view a
lot. But we were in aboat that's probably the boat that I went
fishing in, and in the pondthat my grandfather had in the backyard.
That's an irrigation can but he madea pond out of it. My mom
to this day gets ducks that youwill, you know, nest there and

(39:06):
have their little babies and stuff. But yeah, growing up, we'd swim
in that pond, but then thereended up being leeches. Then we stopped
swimming in it so much, youknow, because it's like a farm farm
irrigation canal, you know, itlooks pretty idyllic. It looks like a
beautiful is that? So your momnow lives in that home in the she
does. She lives in that homeand she has done in the landscaping like

(39:29):
crazy. But you know, ourfamili has lived lived there since nineteen seventy
two on that property and it's acreand you know, it's like a view
lot in Marini and Idaho, whichis outside of boiseat Ho. But my
grandfather, you know, always boughtproperty and then he had sell it and
he'd get developed by big developers thatmade lots of money off of it,

(39:51):
and he never you know, wasable to be lucky in that selling property.
But you know this property, youknow, if it ever does get
sold, it will definit you know, be a million dollar property. You
know. Yeah, so he inaddition to his story, he left you
another legacy as well. How oldis your is your mom? Now?
Oh, she's she's seventy and youknow we get together and do things every

(40:16):
once in a while, but she'sjust too old to really travel much.
We did the phenomenon. I wasn'tin that with James Fox, but I
had a lot to do with meetingmy mom to even be a part of
it, because she she just reallydidn't want to travel. You know,
she's just the type that just likes, you know, being a homebody.
And and I dragged her down thereto do that movie and she's in it

(40:37):
for a minute, but you know, yeah, my mom, she she
felt like, you know, shewanted to do things when she was younger,
but she never had a book. And The Coming of the Saucers,
we never knew how to republish that, and that fell in my lap and
we'll get to that. We'll getto that. Don't don't go there yet.
I don't want to do it.When I asked you, But is

(40:58):
your father's Is your father still withus? My father? Yeah, he's
battling lung cancer right now. He'sa VET and he's getting the million dollar
treatment. His surgery to remove hiscancer was like half a million and now
he's doing the radiation and chemo. We're chemo their feet and then radiation.
But he's probably going to beat itand be here for another five years.

(41:21):
He's just in really good spirit,so I think I think that'll work out.
We wish him well. When mydad passed of prostay cancer, and
I miss him every day. Racenumber eighteen, all right, this is
you and your brother, I believe. Yeah, what was your brother's name,
Cameron? Were we were five daysapart, So every year we'd have
our birthday parties together, even thoughwe're two years and five days apart.

(41:45):
We're both little Leo kids, butyou know, yeah, our birthday parties,
we always have him together. Andmy grandfather was holding my big brother
Cameron, and that's just me rightnext next to him. But yeah,
that's when when I was little, very my parents had an orange crush velvet
couch in the seventies, exactly likewhat looks like right there. That's such

(42:07):
a seventies piece of furniture. Ithink, Oh yeah, I iconic.
All right, Rach, he canpull that one down. Please no,
no, not yet, not yet, Race, not yet. Okay,
you said, and you mentioned thisearlier, you said, your grant when
your grandfather passed in eighty four,he was disappointed that, you know,
disclosure hadn't happened. But did hedid he make any kind of money from

(42:28):
his fame or was it all justthis chores like this weight on his shoulders?
Yeah? No, I mean hegot offered fifty thousand dollars to make
a fictional book in the fifties fromdoubled Day Books and turned it down because
he didn't want his story of fictionalized. He wanted it to be the truth,
you know, and that really mademy grandmother really upset because they really

(42:50):
could use the money, and heRay Palmer never really gave him much from
the profits of the coming out ofSaucers, and you know, did give
him the copyright to it, buthe never finalized it, so it's public
domain. But then you know,I was able to republish it on Amazon,
and so I have a book now. But you know, my mom,
you know, had a book projectgoing on and it just kind of

(43:12):
fell apart, and she felt like, you know, her youth has gone
and she just you know, can'tdo what she wanted to do when she
was younger to you know, talkabout how she believed that my grandfather was
just the most truthful, honest manand you know, did what he thought
he needed to do for his country. And you know, any poets supposed

(43:32):
to report what they see, buteven until they admitted you aps are real.
If putets reported flying saucers, theycould be fired, you know,
just for well even you know, last summer when David Grush went before Congress,
you know, he said that therehad been threats on his life and
his and his family, and peoplewere discredited him. Even now, even

(43:55):
now, it's still happening. It'sjust incredible, it's so obvious. It's
that there's something remarkable happening. Andwhoever m J twelve or the Men in
Black, whoever runs and it's notour presidents, and it's not our Congress,
but whoever runs this the uh evenbasket calls it the truth Embargo,
whoever runs the Truth in Bargo, they're doing the hell of a good job

(44:15):
because still to the state hasn't beenrevealed, right just coat. I definitely
believe like the Book of Enoch wastaking out of the Bible on purpose,
and you know, like they theyhad something to do with our creation,
you know, just even the Ananachicreating us or you know, we're just
that's the missing link. The yes, it has to be them, just

(44:38):
you know, creating us to bethese people. And I do believe the
flood happened, because there are manyreligions, you know, talk about the
flood happening and and and I alsokind of believe they were giants on in
the world because they fight giant skeletons. But then the Smithsonian like covers it
all up. Right, that's exactlyright, boy, you're you're spot on.

(45:00):
Years ago. My son, myson went to machu Peachew years ago
and after he called me his dad, the steps up the mountain are so
far apart. He said that onlygiants. Only giants could have made one
step to the next step to theyou know, they're not for regular humans.
He said. They were enormous inbetween the steps. So yeah,
there were giants. Oh wow, that's explain explains a lot of things.

(45:23):
All right, race, now wecan do nineteen please, all right?
So should all that's a wonderful fuck. You inherited your grandfather's legacy. You've
been on George Nori and UFO conventions, you met Stanton Freeman and other major
people. What what is it likefor you personally to carry on your your
grandfather's legacy. Yeah, I justfeel like I need to spread the word

(45:45):
that you know, these these arethis is what we've been the answer that's
part of our creation, you know, this is this is part of who
we've been, and we need towake up and you know, listen to
you know, what happening by differentexperiencers of these craft and the ets.

(46:06):
And definitely, like I, Ijust want to spread his word that he
believes that the link between the livingand the dead. You know, they're
just they're they're there. It's likewe we it's right there. We can
touch it, but we can't touchit. You know, it's just it's
a you know, beyond disclosure. They want to say that flying saucers have
just started happening with the UA pS, which is not not and it

(46:30):
They've been always, They've always beenhere. They're depicted in Renaissance paintings.
You know, they're depicted in caveart, you know, Petrick Glypts absolutely
right. Yeah, and so hehe just was chosen to awaken us.
And I don't understand how we'd forgottenabout them to begin with, you know,

(46:51):
y race number twenty please, Yeah, that's a key picture you And
in late Stanton Friedman, what washe like? I never got to meet
him. What was he like him? He cracked up. We were both
Leo's and he was telling me howyou like basically put himself through college and
and uh, this is like whenwe went out to a restaurant when he

(47:12):
was here in Boise, Idaho. But you know, he met my grandfather
at the nineteen seventy seven UFO Congressin Chicago, Illinois, and he was
one of the last, you know, people alive that had known my grandfather
and I told him, we're wetook him to the airport and I told
him I loved him. And youknow, he died, you know,
only a couple of years after that, because I know, I was never
gonna have an opportunity to see theguy again. But he was just a

(47:34):
very kind individual, and you know, he's the whole reason Roswell thing got,
you know, popular, and youknow, and it was weird because,
like I've seen old clips of mygrandfather, they were always mentioning him
a lot. But then you know, Roswell kind of did take over.
But you know, he was likehe was like the opening act for the
Beatles, right yeah, yeah, yeah, he was like the Dave Cluck

(47:59):
five opening the Beatles came two weekslater, right yeah, yeah, And
it was exactly two weeks. Likehe had his siding on the twenty fourth
of June, and they believe,I think the Roswell's UFO landing on the
second of July or something like that, and I think it was right.
And then Roswell was discovered on thisI think the seventh or the eighth of
July something like that. Yeah,a week later, race number twenty one.

(48:21):
Please, this is a cute picture. So this is what the is
it called the Chileans. Yes,shee Hale's Flying Saucer party. And it's
because when he had his sighting onJune twenty fourth, nineteen forty seven,
he left sche Hali's Washington and theyhave a little museum there and they I
donated some male that he got froma correspondence of this UFO cult that wasn't

(48:46):
even known about in California. Andthey did a little clip on YouTube called
it's a little movie that this guyEli Watson made but it's called Mountain of
God. You have mysterious UFO cult. But anyhow, they like contacted my
grandfather after his sighting. But anyhow, yeah, this is a mural in

(49:08):
Shaelis. I'm kind of getting offthe point, but yeah, you have
his red his red airplane and thenthe flying Saucers and Chanel. I'm going
to be critical here. You know, there's only eight. There's only eight
saucers on that. There's one onthe side too, I know because I
hit it. There's one that's hidden. Yeah, there's one that's hidden.

(49:30):
I know because I noticed that too. As long as there's nine that we're
good. Yeah, that's a verywonderful that's a wonderful phtto. I love
this one looks So. Is thatan annual event? Yeah, it's an
annual event, and it happens inSeptember, in a September, and usually
my daughter and I go and sometimesmy husband comes along. And it's about
ten hours away from where I live. So, you know, I just

(49:52):
kind of wish I still have onthe West Coast like I did back when
I was younger. I lived inthe Portland area, but I'm you know,
and where my grandfather I loved tolive in Idaho with the four seasons
and a lot of people, alot of people love it here. Yeah,
if I ever come out there,I promise I'll look you up A
race number twenty two. Okay,So you republished, like you were saying

(50:13):
earlier, the book last year, right republished it on Amazon. How did
you go about getting the rights andhow did you go about republishing this book?
The Maury Island people, Charlotte Feverand Philip Lipson typed the whole book
up, but it needed to beproofread, and a good friend of mine
knew how to put a book onAmazon, and she proofread the She proofread

(50:35):
the whole thing. I paid hera little bit, and then my mom
decided to share some rare pictures thathave never been released of like when he
was on the campaign trail when heran for governor of Idaho, and you
know, like the one with Eisenhower. Yeah, there's two pictures of him,
meaning President Eisenhower. There's also oneof him standing with like President Eisenhower

(50:57):
and some other military officials. Yeah. But yeah, I republished it and
it's only nineteen forty seven on Amazon. Oh, that's great impressions. Nineteen
forty seven, that's brilliant. That'scalled the good marketing. Good marketing.
Yeah, the impostor is like tenbucks more and they don't have any pictures.
So nineteen forty seven, that's themost clever thing I've heard in a

(51:17):
long time. That's brilliant. Thenext slid Please Races. I think it
was twenty three, all right,So in here Ray Shannon in the back
of your book, you write whatyou about from you. What I'm searching
to find is the connection Unless thiswas your grandfather, what I'm searching to
find is the connection between God,aliens, religion, and reality. Are

(51:39):
those your thoughts? Are your grandfather? Those are my thoughts. I'm a
philosophy major, you know, definitely, you know. And I credit Earl
Gray on the back too, becausehe helped me in college write this.
I'm like, Earl, give mea quote from my essay, and so
he gave me a quote from myessay and it just happened to be in
this. But I wrote some Iwrote some you know, some UFO stories

(52:01):
and essays in college. So Ido have some stuff I could put together
for a brochure some someday. Youhave you literally have eupology in your blood,
you know? Oh definitely, yeah. I wrote a lot about it.
I wrote a lot about it incollege. And you and Paul Heinik
and the Kathy Martin then the nieceof Betty and Barney Hill and Travis Walton

(52:22):
and Whitley Streamer. You know, all you guys have have eupology in your
blood. You know. Yeah, what do you th just personally erase.
You can take that one down.Yeah, you can show the next one.
That's the last one twenty four. That's a cute picture. That's you
and your grandfather, your grandparents.Look how hot your grandparents were. They

(52:44):
look like it really looked like moviestars. Look at that. That could
be from a Carry Grant movie inthe forty Yeah, definitely, that's a
lovely picture. All right, wecan kill that one, all right.
So, Chanel, what do youthink your grandfather thought that he saw that
day in forty seven? He just, at the end of his life,

(53:04):
believed they're the connection between living inthe dead somehow, and he believed they're
possibly multi dimensional. And he justbelieved in the fact that, you know,
you just can't travel too far throughspace just it just just didn't seem
possible. And he's had eight sightings, you know, by the end of
his life, and you know, some of his sightings, he felt like
the crap you saw were almost alive, just the way that they were translucent

(53:29):
and beat like the beating of aheart. Sometimes the way they flew.
But you know, he definitely Mymom's trying to document all this, you
know, because she's getting older andyou know, she's afraid, you know,
possibly she's not going to be around. So we're trying. We're trying
to get things together and she needsto do like the home movies, she

(53:52):
needs to get those all digitalized. And I'm doing the Houston Move On conference
in July, and so that's goingto be definitely, you know, get
my name out there. And you'requite fine the trip. Are you going
to bring copies of the republished bookwith you? Huh? Yeah, I
am going to bring some copies ofthe book to sell and and hopefully hopefully,

(54:15):
you know, I can sell thirtyforty books. I'll make they'll make
me happy. But you know,I just I want to get my name
out there so I can get intosome conventions, so I can you know,
sell the Comuno saucers, you know, and bring the name back to
the family. Well, well,if I'm involved with Contact next year,
which I probably will be, I'mthe publicist for it and I'm producing some
sessions, but we could, youknow, you should be you should be

(54:37):
a Contact next year. That movesevent incidentally is in Dallas. Yeah,
it's it's Dallas. I don't realizedHouston, Dallas, they're all the same
race. I don't know if there'sa left of Houston after all those tornadoes,
but yeah, it's a Dallas Chanelle. You're going to Dallas. Thank

(54:59):
you. Now, you're don't takea plain to use Chanel. Where do
you think we are today with disclosure? And do you think it will it
will happen in our lifetimes? Ibelieve it's it's just right there with I
mean, they just had this moviecome out called The Ananaki. Oh my
gosh, like we're getting there, you know, just going back to old

(55:21):
beliefs. You know, I wasa philosophy philosophy major and the you know,
Harry Krishna is there Vitas talk aboutthe flying vihan Us and they're they're
five thousand years old. So Imean there's that these flying saucers are written
about in certain material, and youknow, I do believe they are the
connection between the living and the dead, and that's what I want to get

(55:43):
out there. But a lot ofpeople want to believe they're from other,
you know, places in space andpossibly but you know, I think that
they're the angels in the Book ofEnoch. So that's kind of where I'm
at with it. And I've youknow, been an experiencer too. When
I lived in Portland, I havehad a UFO experience and and that you
know, definitely changed me. Ialmost feel like, you know, I

(56:07):
possibly could have been been abducted, but I've just never been regressed. Well,
I've had I've had three experiences.Do you have a list? I'd
love to see this. Do youhave a list in addition to the famous
one of your grandfather's other seven UFOside my mom? My mom's trying to
make sure that's in the files andtogether for me, because she's leaving me
the files you know, when sheshe finally decides to pass along. Because

(56:30):
if you had, if you hadto date to the locations and what he
saw, I can you know,I mean you could do. But I
could get that to Richard Dolan andNick Pope and Steve Bassett and Whitley's oh
wow, Travis Walton, and Imean I can get that to everybody because
I think we I think we wouldall be very interested too to get that.
If you ever put that list together, you know, send it to
me and and send it to Earltoo, we can get it out to

(56:51):
everybody that that'd be awesome. No, my, my, mom just my
mom doesn't share things unless there's likeusually money involved, so it's really hard
to kind of kind of get stuffout there. But she's really you know,
shared a lot, and I shareda lot. I'm the one that
started it because there was no goodpictures of my grandfather out there. That
was a problem for a bit,and I you know, made sure some

(57:13):
pictures were released of him because hewas a good looking guy. Yeah,
he was. I think it's reallyquite nice that you are keeping your grandfather's
spirit alive and his message and hisstory. He was a remarkable person.
After my dad passed, I discoveredthat he was involved with the US Army
on reverse engineering of UFOs, andthat's how I wrote my book After they

(57:34):
came, So that happened after myfather died, and I dedicated that to
him. So the people that camebefore, we should acknowledge them and be
grateful to them, and people likeyou and I and Paul Heinek and Kathy
Martin, we should share the storiesof our relatives so that everybody knows what
happened. Oh definitely, yeah. And I believe our technology did come from

(57:57):
them, So that's great that youyeah, yeah, yeah, real quick.
I saw. I saw an incredibleUFO with my dad in nineteen seventy.
I was fourteen. I was thrilled, he was bored. And then
two three days after he died,I went to a restaurant to get some
food, and while I was waitingfor my foods, you know, a
digital download of the this is intwenty seventeen now, a digital download of

(58:21):
the nineteen seventy UFO siding with myfather played in the air like a color
hologram, three D hologram. Infront of my eyes. It played,
and that's when I realized my lateand my father had just died. And
I realized, Oh my god,my father knew what that UFO was.
And I then researched him and Idiscovered he helped to invent military drones for

(58:43):
the Army. Top secret. Henever told anyone, including my mother.
Oh wow, So I'm doing alecture a contact called how my father built
UFOs for the US military. Sowow, you and I our kindred spirits.
You know, we have it inour DNA. I suppose what do
you have coming up? We haveto wrap other than the Dallas event?

(59:06):
Yet what else is going? Yeah? Possibly doing this? She listening again
this year, and you know, just hopefully get my name out there to
get invited to more conferences, justto list some books. That's what I'm
trying to try to do, getin the circuit because it's really the time
for disclosure. There's so many conferencesall over the place all the time about
this. And I'm glad. I'mglad me and Errol I'll talk to erow.

(59:29):
We're glad to get your story andyou out there more. You know,
you should be out there. AndI love the fact that your book
is nineteen forty so oh yeah,it's cheaper than the impostor. The impostor
book has no pictures and they wantlike thirty for their paperbacks. So yeah,
and yours is the real deal.Last thing we have to wrap.
How can people reach you Facebook? You know, message me on Facebook or

(59:52):
my email? Can I give outme my email? Please? Yes,
it's my name, Chanel s hA and E. Chance sc ch and

to thank you for this one veryquickly. We could have done another hour,

I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
