Speaker 1 (00:00):
The weekends here, which means it's time to go ahead
and check out movies. That's why Jason at the Movies
goes to the theater so normal people like me don't
have to waste their money. And Jason, we got like,
what three decent movies this weekend?
Speaker 2 (00:12):
I think, yeah, three probably decent movies but have big
star power. We could start with tron Aris, which is
the third tron movie. I don't particularly love these movies,
but they always look cool. They've got cool music. It's
a cool ride at Disney and this one, this time
now has Jared Leto in it, who you know, I
(00:34):
mean is a star, right, yeah, yeah, it's a star.
And so he plays aries who sent from the digital
world in the real world and it's the first time
we encounter AI beings kind of getting kind of getting
middling reviews, so you know, take that where it's worse.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
And that's one of the movies I know they've been
doing like a lot of promotion wise because Jared Leto
has his music being played on the tron Ride, which
is at Disney World. So if you're gonna make a trip,
go ahead and check that out. But the movie roof
Man with Channing Tatum is the one that I kind
of want to see this weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Yeah, of the three coming out this weekend, this is
probably the one that I would would recommend. This one's
getting the best reviews. This is based on a true
story where this guy would go and rob McDonald's. He
cut a hole in the roof. That's how he got
the name roof Man. But he escapes from prison and
lives inside the Toys r US for six months, which,
like you said, starring Channing Tatum, so kind of fun,
kind of cool.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
I call that heaven. If you can live in the
Toys or US for like six months, that'd be great.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Yeah, hey, and drop into McDonald's from the roof.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Hello, what about a kissing a spider woman?
Speaker 2 (01:36):
What is that? Okay? So kind of wild. This is
a book I think back in the seventies. Then they
made a movie in the eighties. Then in the nineties
they made a musical on Broadway. This is now the
movie based on the Broadway musical based on the movie
based on the book That makes sense. No, I'm produced,
(01:57):
it stars it stars Jyl Actually, the one in the
eighties was a fairly big hit and was an Oscar contender.
I haven't heard a ton about this, and I don't
know that there's really high awareness, especially for people that
are into musicals. I don't know that many people that
are talking about it, but it is getting pretty good reviews.
But I think Jlo she always delivers, and you know
(02:19):
she's saying she acts, she kind of does it all.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yeah, she's the triple threat. There you go. So there's
three big ones. You can see Tron, Roofman, are kissing
a spider woman, or you can always just listen to
the Jason of the Movies podcast on iHeartRadio, so you
can find out should I go see Roofman or not?
And we'll talk to you again next weekend.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Jason, all Right, you got it,
