Welcome to Don't Act Shock Podcast. All Right, So dating
while building your business in the beginning, yes or no? No,
I'm sorry, I only said no because of what that
means and what that entails. Right, So if you're already
in a established relationship, I am going to assume a

couple of things. I'm gonna assume that you guys get
each other, you know each other, your respector of his
time her time. Right. The only thing is when you're
beginning to date someone, right, you have to there's time
that consists of being with that person, right, and so
you don't really know that person. You're feeling each other out,
which is a good thing. I like I said, I
love love. I'm a lover. I'm a love call me love.

I know if it was romantic. My favorite movie actually
is Love Jones, Like, I love everything about that movie,
and I actually have a perspective on that movie which
would actually take a panel, but I'm gonna leave that alone.
But anyway, back to the statement at hand. So my
thing is when you're dating someone, you have to get
to know each other, and there's a lot of time

that can consist of that. So you have to be
able to put your priorities ahead, okay, And so my
only thing is making sure you date someone that has
you in a great head space. Okay, that is so important.
You don't understand dating someone that doesn't have you in
a great headspace or have you out of character, will
have your business out of whack, We'll have your goals
out of whack, will have you desperate. Okay, Like, let's

just be real here. There are people that are dating
people they are not even functional. The goals and dreams
that they've had, okay, is actually obsolete now because they
have consumed this person. And so my thing is, don't
consume the man, or don't consume the woman when you
are beginning to date, have a life. Actually, men like

it when you can like them, love them, and still
have a life. That's one of the things that I
love about men is that men can love you, care
for you, and they can still have a life. Thing
with women is that we tend to hmm, how can
I say this? And I think it's a beautiful thing
because we're nurturers and that's just in our nature. But
we tend to consume the man, right. We tend to

put things off so that we can accommodate them, and
that is not always a good thing. Okay, in business,
you are everything in your business. I don't know if
you think you start off with the team. You don't
start off with the team. You are the team. Okay.
You don't start off with an assistant. You are an assistant.
You're everything in your business. Right. You're the marketer, you're

the advertiser, you're the poster. There's an emailer that's like
the word. Okay, I make up words here, all right,
So you're everything in your business. This is why you
need to be dating someone that has you in a
good headspace. Okay. You can't be prioritizing everything around or gentlemen, Okay,
around the woman. You have to prioritize according to your

schedule in your business. Okay, there are times that you're
gonna have to put off that date because you have orders.
There's times you're gonna have to put off that because
you have emails you have to address. And even if
you say to me, well I'm not even at that stage, well,
that's even more reason for you to even go even
more harder. You need to be advertising better, you need
to be marketing better. You need to be putting yourself
out there. So dating and building a business great, but

just make sure that you don't consume the person. Okay,
make sure that you have a life. Make sure that
you are prioritizing your business. Okay. Outside of just building
a business, we have a lot of things going on
in our life. I don't know exactly where you guys
are in life, right. Some of you may be parents,
some of you may not. Some of you work in
your parents, some of you may be taking care of

your parents, some of you may be I don't know.
I don't know exactly where you're at. So on top
of that, blended with trying to build a brand, cause
that's what you're doing. And sometimes I want you to
look at it in a different way too. I don't
want you to just look at it like, oh, I'm
building a small business. No, you're building a brand. You're
building an empire. Okay, Yes, I want you to say,
I'm building an empire. Okay, that's where your mind is,

(03:56):
and you see yourself. Don't be afraid to say exactly
what you see for yourself. I see an empire, I
see a brand, and that is what you have. And
so you have to put things in priority. Okay, it's
all it is. It's all about perspective and it's all
about priority. So make sure you have someone that is
respective of your time, okay. And then also, you know,
you don't have to always consume your business. Of course,

there's life outside of that, but you want to make
sure because look, it's bigger than you. It's bigger than you, ma'am.
It's bigger than you, sir. So not only are you
building this business, this is gonna help you, This is
gonna help your family. This is gonna help your family's family.
Like you have to look at it for what it is. Okay,
So date, have fun, don't consume, Okay, I know and

you and I know that in this social media where
we've seen all the toxicity, it's so much toxic stuff
going on. So you want to make sure that you
have a good headspace, you're clear, and you're ready to
be very performative, and you want to make sure that
you are putting out the best product, you're putting out
the best service, and you're giving it all you got,
