Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hey, y'all, Hey y'all, Hey y'all, it's your girl licks.
How y'all doing, how y'all being? I feel like I
ain't talk to y'all on forever, like we gotta catch up.
I really really miss doing this podcast, Like I guess,
I've just been trying to find different ways to make
it work for me, and sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
But you know what, we gotta take advantage of the

(00:38):
time we have and we gotta go with it right
So here we are. It is May the fifteenth of
twenty twenty five, of y'all. It's twenty twenty five. I'm
still in shock, but I mean, it is what it is, y'all.
Life has been real crazy. I don't even remember what
we talked about the last time we talked. And that's okay,

(01:00):
because today is a new day. Like I got up
early this morning, I exercise, like I don't know. Life
is just so different than what I think it should
be like, or what I thought it should be like,
or what it used to be like two years ago.
I was working out every day, going to work and

(01:21):
enjoying my free time doing whatever I please. And I mean,
life is crazy then, Like if you've been listening to
this podcast for as long as I've had it. I've
had this podcast since twenty twenty. Who I want to say,
it's twenty twenty five, so we've been rocking for three years.
But yeah, like I was living a totally different life

(01:43):
and then now at twenty seven, all my bones pop, y'all.
I don't every day. They gotta pop, Like I can't
pop my knuckles today and they not pop tomorrow. And
I don't like this. It's embarrassing whenever I s down
is pop pop pop m M. I don't like it.

(02:04):
But yeah, like, now that I'm older, I see the
importance of working out and exercising and stretching, because baby,
it is not like I always feel so embarrassed and
it'sn't important to eat right, And I just realized something
something about myself. Y'all like my algorithms. So y'all know

(02:25):
that our social media apps, our algorithms are all different.
It's catered to what we like. It's least likely to
show you what you don't like, right, So me, I
don't like vegetables. I mean, who does? You might but
and that's cool, but you know, make it interesting for me, right.

(02:47):
So when I go to my for you page or
like my discovery page on Instagram, it's full of big
back stuff. Right. And I was at work today and
we have to wear a blazer and but and down shirts, right,
And I keep buying these large blazes and large shirts
and they still fitting tight. Right, And today my blazer

(03:10):
it was just fitting real tight. And I'm like, is
it me? Okay? Do I need to push away from
the table? And lately I have been pushing away from
the table. But do you know what I eat most
of the time, y'all? I bet you'll never guess. As
much as I talk, I bet you'll never guess that
most of the times, nine times out of ten, from
going to a restaurant where there's fast food sit down,

(03:33):
especially if it's my first time going to a restaurant,
I'm getting chicken tenders and French fries. Like, I'm sorry,
because my stomach is real sensitive. I don't like to
upset it. You know, vegetables upset your stomach. And you
want to know why they upset your stomach, y'all, It's
because they gotta clean you out. That's the point. And
as much as I want to be like, oh my gosh,

(03:54):
the vegetables have all these chemicals and pesticides and sprayed
on them, and this that and the third right, eating
a vegetable with pesticides on it or whatever whatever may
have you, or fruit, it's gonna be a whole lot
healthier than me eating a honey bun or eating the reces,
Cause I like races. Every day when I go clock in,

(04:16):
I'll pass the venom and the reeses calling my name,
and today they won not even gonna hold you. But
even my point, like, my algorithm is catered to stuff
that's not good for me, and it's not helping me
get better in life. So in order to find ways

(04:37):
to make vegetables more interesting for me or I will
find like are, I'll look at different stuff. I can't
just expect vegetables to appear on my feed. If I'm
looking at steak and chicken wing, it's all day, it's
just not gonna work. The only thing I'm gonna see
is a couple of sticks of celery. Right, So, yeah,

(04:57):
we're growing in this world, Like we gotta we gotta
start noticing the little things that we do and what
we're consuming, and if we want to fix a major
part of your life. Like me, I don't like how
my clothes fit, right, I don't like feeling all of

(05:19):
the joints in my body pop. It's not fun. Okay,
So you know what that means. I gotta find different
things to look at and maybe something will be interesting
because me, I'm interested in just the weird things. Right.
So if y'all know any vegetarian dishes or vecan meals

(05:39):
or something, make it look good to me, right, send
it to me. Okay, help a girl out so that
way I can fix my algorithm and move on with
my life. So yeah, life, back to life, y'all. I
feel like I've gone through so many phases on this
podcast with y'all. I've gone through just starting out not

(06:02):
really knowing what I was doing, to this just being
my diary. Like at one point, y'all, I was in
a town where I didn't know anybody, didn't have any
like relatives, clothes. Only people I was talking to was
my partner at the time, my mom and my daddy,

(06:22):
and there was just things that I needed to get
out and this was my place to do that. Whether
anybody listened or not, whether anybody cared it didn't matter.
I was getting out how I felt, what I was
going through in a healthy way, I thought. And it
may have just been me in my room talking to

(06:42):
myself like I'm doing now, but that's neither here nor there.
The point is I saw a purpose in it, Like
if I'm going through such a tough time in my life,
somebody else might be going through such a tough time
in their life and they just need to sit in
a room and talk to them and it be okay.
And I would have never pictured my podcast being what

(07:06):
it is now. Also, if you notice I got a
new logo for the podcast, shout out to my photographer AnyWho.
I don't know. I always felt like I was not
the cutest. I thought I was the ugly Dougling for sure.
And so when you take good photos and you're like,
oh my gosh, I look honest like these are good child,

(07:29):
and I don't know, I guess that's something we can
get into right now because at the rate of growth
that I'm at, Like, like I said, I've come a
long way. I've shared a lot on this podcast, and
one thing I did didn't really touch on, but it's
my self confidence, and I don't know if y'all know this,

(07:49):
but this podcast has been audio only for a long time,
and you want to know why some self conscious Like
I don't know how I look in front of a camera.
I don't know if I'm gonna look right. I'm always thinking,
you know, my hair is not done, I don't have
makeup on, or this, that and the third, and it
really don't matter because it kind of defeats the purpose.

(08:12):
Like this is my safe space. So if I can saying,
you at least got to be able to look me
in the eye. So whenever I stop being scared, I'll
start doing video. But like I said, it's a self
conscious issue and I just gotta work through that because
beauty is subjective or objective or whatever whatever. Look, everybody

(08:37):
ain't pretty to everybody, Okay, everybody ain't beautiful to everybody,
and everybody you know ain't ugly to everybody. So I
just have to find beauty in myself and not worry
about what other people things beautiful because I'm beautiful to
me and I don't care if they think I'm beautiful.

(08:58):
But were working on that, y'all. We're working on it,
but the work starts within, and like I was just
talking about my back getting big. I gotta unbigo and
the only way to unbigo is diet and exercise. Or
I could take those medicines that everybody else be taken,
but that's just not what I need to do at

(09:20):
the moment. I gotta figure it out like a big
kid or a grown up. I guess, oh yeah, I
feel like once I hit twenty seven, like twenty six
was just I'm an adult, but I could still fake it.
I guess twenty seven now I'm an adult. I had
to do adult stuff now. But you know what, it's

(09:42):
a blessing to have made it this far. I will
say that because, like I said, if you've been rocking
with me from the jump, you know that there were
times that I didn't know if I would make it
this far. I had no hopes for the future. And
here I am in the future or the present now.
But you get what I'm saying, Like, we've come a

(10:04):
long way, We've made a few bumps in the road,
a few extra stops, a lot of me rambling, okay,
and one thing I'm gonna work on is that Okay.
So yeah, welcome to the new life of flicks like
we've lived the old life, right, this is the new

(10:24):
life of Flix, and we're gonna do things differently because
if you want to see results, you gotta change things up. Okay,
because obviously it wasn't working the first time, and my
delusion tells me that it'll work one of these times
if I keep doing it the same way. No, yeah,
change it up, Bookie and bookies me, I'm Bookie, Okay.

(10:47):
Oh yeah, we're gonna change things up. So yeah, I'm
not gonna allow myself to ramble anymore. I will stop
myself in my own tracks or I just have other
people on the show. How about that one? And I mean,
like I've wanted to incorporate adding people to the show,
prefer a blue video, just so that we're talking about life, right,

(11:10):
not just about mine, but like you know, tell me
about your life life with you and Lex, Right, let's
just share life stories. I don't know, whatever, whatever, let's
just have a good time. How about that on the
Life Alex And until next time? I love because like
I said, I'm gonna stop myself in my tracks from rambling.

(11:32):
And if that means shorter episodes, then that's just what
it means. But we all have goldfish like focus, so
it helps, I guess for it to be short. That's
why we have reels. Are love piece of chicken grease. Okay,
Oh my goodness, it felt so good to say that
love piece of chicken grease, y'all easy, ill country, I

(11:54):
sayd that. I don't know if y'all notice, but I
done picked up an accent at work. And it's like,
not like I picked it up from work, It's just
that's where I utilize this accent at y'all, And this
accent's I always been here cause I'm from where I work.
But yeah, I done picked up an accent. And I
don't know if it gives Southern bell or he'll billy,

(12:16):
but whatever. Okay, this is how I'm talking, and this
is how I'm going to talk. Yeah, gotta use grammar sometimes,
and who like I said, love piece and chicken grease
and don't go messing on nobody day. Actually, i'm'a let
tap the Brown have her hand bag, mkay, cause i'm'a
stop saying the F bomb at the end so I

(12:36):
can get rid of the explicit sign. So I gotta
come up with a new sign off. But until then,
love y'all, Bye ye
