Hello, Jay, It's been brought to our attention that you
have been a major player in the South Florida society
scene for many years now. Can you tell us how
this happened?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
As a red blooded American Viking and a culture vulture
from Minnesota, chamber events sparked my interest in Latin culture.
My former wife was involved with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
This led me to promote Latin music events and start
an advertising agency catering to the Latin community and those

who love salsa music and spicy food. In nineteen ninety seven,
after I got divorced, I taught English in Venezuela, immersing
myself in Latin American culture and learning Spanish. While on
the streets of Merida at a local newsstand, I encountered
Lavochi Italia newspaper, and that sparked my interest in parleying

my Spanish language abilities into learning Italian. I spent the
entire year in Venezuela in nineteen ninety eight, and when
I returned to Minnesota, I reconnected with some Italian American friends.
Inspired to launch and Italian culture newspaper, I launched Mondo
Italiano Newspaper in nineteen ninety nine as a marketing device

for clients. I founded Luxury Chamber in two thousand and
nine with the first event in a Ventura, Florida, at
Preso Restaurante. Attracting high net worth individuals, Luxury Chamber grew rapidly,
hosting elite networking events with figures like Governor Bob Graham,
Roger Stone, and Tom Monaghan, the founder of Domino's Pizza.

In twenty seventeen, I relaunched Mondo Italiano as a luxury magazine,
followed by South Florida Magazine in twenty eighteen as the
Chambers newsletter and lifestyle platform. In twenty twenty one, we
introduced Southwest Florida Magazine.

Okay, so, from what I understand, Luxury Chamber was founded
as an offshoot from the efforts of your marketing. How
did you make the jump from the Jewish Chamber of
Commerce to the Luxury Chamber.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
That's a great question. One of our members was a
real estate broker promoting property on Hillsborough Mile. She wanted
to host a promotional real estate networking party at the listing.
She mentioned that she would like the event to attract
a larger audience of prospective high net worth clients. I
jokingly said, why don't we change the name of the

chamber to Luxury Chamber for one day only? As soon
as I said that, she became wide eyed and bushy tailed.
The rest is history.

What type of people attend your events?

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Many types. We are like United Nations of cultural cocktail parties.
Our members and attendees have included governors, mobsters, fortune one
hundred CEOs, artists, actors, investors, nonprofit directors, and of course
purveyors of luxury. They come from all backgrounds, religions and philosophies.

Our attendees are one big family and have a strong
passion for life.

third Monday of every month from six until nine.

Sort of? It goes without saying no shorts and no
tennis shoes. Dress as nice as possible. Some guys wear tuxedos,
some wear a shirt and tie, and others wear jeans
with a sport coat. Some ladies wear little black dresses,
others wear business suits, and some wear full on formal
