Speaker 1 (00:00):
Upcycling safety pins. This upcycling discovery surprised even me. Safety pins,
in my mind, have been used to simply hold usually
fabric together. You still see them as decorations for baby showers,
as they were once used to keep a baby's diaper on.
But no more where now we are using safety pins

(00:24):
in ways that many of our grandparents or great grandparents
could never have imagined. At first, I saw lots of
ideas on how to create jewelry out of safety pins.
Some were pins that with added embelltments like crystals and stones.
Some of the pins were used as class for our necklaces.
The variety of jewelry was endless, with almost every type

(00:48):
of material combined with a simple safety pin. But then
there was the use of safety pins to make sculptural
jewelry and necklace and a bracelet. These two items look stunning.
You can never be able you will never be able
to tell that these two items were made with primarily
the use of safety pins. And of course, safety pins

(01:10):
have not lost their usefulness. They can be used to
keep curtains together. Did you know that clothes that can
be a time static you can actually use the safety
pin to pin the inside of the hem before placing
them in the dryer to cut up to cut out
the static cleanly, feel they get. How about a zipper

(01:30):
pool for that sweater you are not quite ready to
get rid of? But of course, if you are a chrafter.
People are also creating all kinds of creations by simply
using safety pins and other items to create sculptures or
whatever their imagination brings them. We can truly say that
this safety pin is not your grandmother's or great grandmother's

(01:54):
safety pin, but it has more uses than ever before. Well,
for now remember their life. It's about possibilities, not impossibilities.
Till next time, stay well,
