This message is not about asking whether God is on our side. It is about the deeper and more humble question: are we on the side of the Most High?
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” and “I and my Father are one.” If Christ is the way, then the living are not called to recruit Heaven into their disputes, fears, flags, institutions, or private wars. We are called to come into alignment with the Father through truth, repentance, humility, clean hands, and peace.
Psalm 91 is not a charm for presumption. It is a dwelling place.
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
This sermon walks through Psalm 91 with reflections on refuge, fear, sorrow, repentance, spiritual alignment, and the peace that comes when a matter is settled before the Most High.
We also consider three questions for the listener to carry quietly:
Where have I asked God to bless my side, when He was calling me onto His?
Where have I mistaken presumption for faith?
What would peace require me to settle before the Most High?
May this message strengthen the weary, steady the living, protect the children, and call every household back to the secret place of the Most High.
