La serie animata Marvel Zombies (2025, in Italia su Disney) avrebbe potuto riportare energia al mondo animato della Marvel, adattando il cult a fumetti scritto nel 2005 da Robert Kirkman. Invece, si rivela l’ennesima occasione sprecata. Pur partendo da un’idea affascinante – supereroi trasformati in zombie – la serie risulta piatta, prevedibile, priva di coraggio e di scrittura.
Non raggiunge le vette grottesche di What If…, ma conferma la crisi creativa di una divisione animata ormai priva di anima e direzione. Il potenziale dirompente della storia originale si dissolve in un racconto senz’anima. Marvel Zombies finisce così per diventare la metafora perfetta della Marvel stessa: un impero un tempo vitale, ora in declino, che continua a muoversi per inerzia. Come i suoi protagonisti non-morti.
