Speaker 1 (00:03):
Callaroga Shark Media. Hello and welcome to a special bonus
episode of Pallace Intrigue as we continue to cover the
fallout around Prince Andrew. I'm your host. Mark Francis, the
new editor of Vanity Fair, has reportedly instructed staff to

(00:23):
give kinder coverage to the daughters of Andrew mount Batten Windsor,
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, sparking questions about editorial independence
at the famed magazine. According to a report by Semaphore,
Mark Giaducci, who recently succeeded Redika Jones as editor in chief,

(00:44):
objected to a mention of the sisters in a story
about their father's ties to the late convicted sex offender
Jeffrey Epstein. Gioducci allegedly asked whether it was relevant to
include Beatrice and Eugenie in a piece about their father's conduct.
The article in question, which ran in September, reportedly mentioned
the princesses only briefly. Following Gioducci's intervention, A spokesperson for

(01:08):
Vanity Fair denied any changes were made to the peace,
saying the references to Beatrice and Eugenie in the draft
are identical to what ran and still runs on VF
dot com, nothing was changed. The spokesperson also pointed out
that the publication had recently published the first excerpt from
Virginia Jeffrey's posthumous memoir. Semaphore noted that Gioducci's close social

(01:32):
ties to members of the royal circle, including the daughters
of longtime Conde Nast executive Annawin Tour, had already raised
eyebrows when he was appointed. The thirty six year old
former Vogue creative officer is said to have cultivated a
wide network of celebrity connections, including friendships within the British Royals.

(01:53):
Former Royal Press Secretary Dicky Arbiter has delivered a scathing
assessment of Andrew mount Batten Windsor, describing the disgraced royal
as arrogant, rude and a bully. Arbiter who served as
Queen Elizabeth the second spokesman for more than a decade,
recalled his occasional encounters with the Queen's once favored son
on the odd occasion that I did have dealings with him,

(02:15):
he was arrogant, he was rude, and he was bumptious,
Arbutad told Times Radio. He added that he was one
of the few palace staff who ever stood up to Andrew,
recalling I was once told by a colleague speaking to
him like that, you'll get fired, and I said, no,
he won't. He won't tell anyone. Pullise, don't tell anybody.
Arbutus said he was unsurprised by King Charles's recent decision

(02:35):
to formally strip his younger brother of all remaining titles
and honors, calling it a long time coming. He said
this has been going on since twenty nineteen, since that
disastrous Newsnight interview. As the royal family continues to grapple
with one of its most damaging scandals in decades, Prince
Harry is said to be very concerned for his cousins,
Princess Beatrice and Eugenie. The sisters have become entangled in

(02:59):
the storm surround their parents links to the late sex
offender Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Galleen Maxwell, who is
serving a twenty year sentence for sex trafficking. Royal commentator
Duncan larcom And told Okay Harry has always been close
to Beatrice and Eugenie. They didn't see a massive amount
of each other growing up, but they'd always get together
for Christmas at Sandringham with Meghan. There's a divide there.

(03:21):
That Jeffrey Epstein situation is hugely sensitive, especially in America,
and of course Epstein disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein and Gilleen
Maxwell were photographed together at Beatrice's eighteenth birthday. Megan is
very media conscious. She won't want to appear too sympathetic,
so she'll keep her distance. I don't think she'd object
to Harry supporting them privately, but they'll be on different pages.

(03:45):
Neither Harry nor Megan will want to be seen to
be associated with Andrew or Sarah Ferguson. For Megan it's
probably a commercial thing. For Harry, it's more emotional. According
to Larcom, Harry, now living in California and no longer
a working royal, understands the sisters dicament. He'll have a
lot of sympathy for Beatrice and Eugenie because they're collateral
damage in this horrendous unraveling of the House of York.

(04:07):
It's not their fault. Their parents are in the papers
for all the wrong reasons, but it puts them under
incredible pressure. When Harry moved to America. Beatrice was one
of the few royals who kept in touch and supported
his decisions. He'll be very concerned about how they're coping.
The family seems to be imploding, very very publicly, and
Harry knows how painful that can be. More palacing just

(04:29):
a moment. By the way, we have a new series
for you hear from your friends at Keller Rogashark Media,
called Crown and Controversy Prince Andrew and the Seas, and
traces Andrew's extraordinary fall from palace favorite to pariah through
the Epstein scandal, the BBC interview that shocked the world,

(04:52):
and the final reckoning that saw King Charles strip his
brother of every title. New episodes are available every Sunday,
and if you're a subscriber, you can get the first
five episodes available to download now. Check it out Crown

(05:17):
It is said to be considering leaving the United Kingdom.
A source told The Daily Mail that the sixty five
year old has been going around blaming herself. Reportedly wondering
what if I hadn't done this, or hadn't done that.
Another insider added that she has been reflecting on her future,
saying she's always rather lived on the hoof, and aside
from her children and grandchildren, there's not a lot to
keep her here. Put it this way, the invitations have

(05:39):
dried up overnight. Royal commentator Phila Dampia told Woman's Day
I can reveal her older sister Jane has recently flown
over from Australia to comfort her in the UK. Sarah
needed support and Jane has been there for when she
needed it. According to The Daily Mail's royal editor Rebecca English,
the ones famously close bond between Sarah and her daughters Sinus,

(06:00):
Beatrice and Princess Eugenie has been badly shaken. English reports
that the family friend told her the so called tripod,
the affectionate nickname used to describe the trio's tight relationship,
has collapsed. The friends said, I would actually go so
far as to say they are even more disappointed in
their mother than their father now. They also love their
mother dearly, of course they do. She's a wonderful grandmother too,

(06:21):
and they are deeply concerned about how this is all
affecting her mentally as much as their father, But I
think it's fair to say the scales have also somewhat
fallen from their eyes. The long Anticipator moved from Royal
Lodge may take far longer than the Palace hoped, with
one inside of warning it could take weeks, if not months.
According to The Daily Mail, the couple have accumulated an

(06:42):
extraordinary amount of belongings over the years, including what sources
described as rooms full of boxes that haven't been even opened.
The Amazon deliveries that go out to Royal Lodge are
unbelievable once, sources said, there are rooms full of boxes
that haven't even been opened. It will take weeks, if
not months to shift all their crab out. Sarah is
said to be plotting a post Andrew comeback. She works

(07:04):
with a new team of advisers to rebuild her reputation
and relaunch her public image. The former Duchess of York
has reportedly held talks with what one source described as
a brand rescue team. According to the Sun, the group,
which has worked with several major brands, has been brought
in to help Ferguson reposition herself amid renewed scrutiny over

(07:24):
her past friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. Emails from twenty eleven
resurfaced last week showing her referring to the convicted financier
as a supreme friend, despite having previously called her dealings
with him a gigantic error of judgment. A source told
the paper, Sarah has always been a grafter and a
hard worker and always finds ways of making money and
getting out of a hole. She has expensive tastes and

(07:46):
massive outgoings, but always found a way to make ends meet.
Calls from brands may go unanswered right now, but she
is still Sarah Ferguson and still a big name. Ferguson
is said to be determined to reinvent herself as a
leader in the female positivity world. And there you have it.
