Big Q recaps the the latest news on Terrance Crawford & Errol Spence Jr.
Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. have agreed to a deal to fight for the undisputed welterweight championship on July 29 at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena, sources tell ESPN.
Crawford (38-0, 29 KO) holds the WBO title, which he won in June 2018 with a knockout of Jeff Horn. He has successfully defended his title six times, most recently defeating Avanesyan. Crawford has also held world titles at lightweight and light welterweight in his career.
Spence (28-0, 22 KO) holds the IBF, WBC and WBA world titles at 147 pounds. The WBA belt is the newest to his collection, with Spence picking it up with a knockout win over Yordenis Ugas in April. He first became champion in May 2017 with a win over Kell Brook. A win over Porter in September 2019 gave Spence the WBC belt.
One of the longest-talked-about fights in boxing is finally coming together as welterweight champions Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford are set for a massive four-belt unification on July 29 in Las Vegas, both fighters announced on Thursday. The fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and air live on Showtime PPV.
Spence and Crawford are two of the elite pound-for-pound fighters in the sport and their presence in the same division has led to years of demand for the two to clash and determine the top fighter at 147 pounds. As happens so often, boxing’s political games got in the way of it happening as Crawford was signed to Top Rank while Spence was part of Premier Boxing Champions‘ deep roster of welterweights.

years and years on watching these guys banter back and
forth online about who's better. Errol's saying he's on the

(02:32):
wrong side of the street. Y'all remember that, I remember
all that. We covered it all here, man, y'all remember
that he's on the wrong side of the street. That commentary,
and they had all the stuff what happened with Bob Abram,
you know, El Hayman. They didn't want to make the

(02:52):
fight because of the networks and all that. Yeah, but listen,

family members and hear what you guys think about what
this could possibly be. Me personally, I think this could
be a three fight. We know it's a two fight
deal right away. We know that off top, but when
we're talking about like just doing three fights, depends on

(04:04):
how it goals. But listen, man, I am very enthused
in the wealthweight division. So anyway, shout out to the fan.

in the collision course with each other man, And I'm
just happy we get finally getting opportunity. It's gonna be
a big fight. Anyway. Let's get going, man, We're gonna
play some of the interview. Most of the interview is
only about seven minutes long. Stephen A. Smid had Terrence
Budd Crawford and Errol Spence on first take, and if

(05:34):
you guys didn't hear it, I like to hear it.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Go.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
I have been waiting for years for this. Right now,
joining me now are two of the best fighters on
the planet Earth, welterweight champions, Terrence Crawford and Aero Spinch Junior.
They have announced that they'll fight one another but the
undisputed welter way crown July twenty ninth in Las Vegas.
Aerospench Junior ttermis craft for welcome the first take, Eryol.

(05:59):
Let's start with you here. I mean, what the hell
took this fight so long to happen? We've been waiting
years for this. How excited are you about it? And
why did it take so long Errol.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
I mean great things say time. I mean we both
going through you know, negotias and things, but we.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Hear it now.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
So all this stuff in the past, just the present.
Were here, we fighting each other, may the best man
when I feel like this is the best fight. What's
a fight the last probably forty years. This is a
fight of the decade, the best versus.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
Terrece Crawford.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
How do you feel about the fact that the fight
is finally here?

Speaker 4 (06:37):
We know how great you are thirty nine and oher
in your career with about thirty k's. We know how
elite you are. We know how elite Errol is. We
know you've been wanting this for a long time.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
Terrence.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
How difficult has it been to wait for this fight?
And how are you feeling now of the tier?

Speaker 6 (06:53):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Its been very difficult, as you know, It's been frustrating.
But I'm not I'm excited. I'm happy. You know, the
fans is happy. Everybody's happy. You know we're here now,
you know, and I'm gonna show the world while I'm
the best fighter on the planet, and everybody need to
tune in July twenty ninth. They'll watch me erl Spence

(07:16):
go out there and put on a tremendous show.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
ERL Spence, A lot of people look at you and
they've said you've been to natural weal to wait. A
matter of fact, people have wondered whether or not you
was going up to junior middleweight on several occasions because
you were consider the bigger guy. They've been waiting for
this fight for a long time, but they felt, at
least at some point years ago that Terrence might have
been a little bit smaller, too small for you because
he was coming up from the junior welterweight division. I

(07:40):
want to know your thoughts about what you think of
Terrence Crawford and why and how do you think you're
going to win this fight.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I'm a man on my word. Like like I said,
people thought I was gonna move up, but I just
like I told him when we encount each other in Oklahoma,
said I'm gonna get these belts on my side and
I would come take yours, and you know, this is
where we're at now. And I stood on that, even
if it was leaving me staying after Rings the whole year.
They try and give me the fire, other people just

(08:10):
the fight I wanted so I stuck some of my
guns and I was like, I'm not fighting until I
fight Transcroper. So my team got going.

Speaker 7 (08:18):
With me.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
I feel like my style is you know, is is
basically you know, I'm not gonna say perfect, but it's
very good.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
I got the jab, you know.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
I feel like I might be the strongest opponent, great
body shots. He has great talent, great skills, but I
feel like my ability and my will and my mile
around just being the better fighter, I'm gonna beat them.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
Terrence, He just finished saying that he wanted to be
a man of his word. That he promised you before
he moved on from the weal to weight division if
that were to ever occur, that he was gonna get
those three belts and come and then take yours first.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
My bad, my bad, you promise defense.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
How do you feel about him having made that promise
and lived up to that promise? And what do you
think you're gonna do? Tero Spith Junior, July twenty nine.

Speaker 6 (09:11):
Well, I love it.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
I love it, you know what I mean? Like like
I said, you know, I've been wanting this fight. Everybody
been on I've been on this fight. He said he
was gonna take the easier route and go, you know,
handle what he had to handle, and he did that.
So now you know he got to live up to
his word and coming to take this belt. You know
that the last one is always the hardest one, and

(09:34):
I assure you it won't be like none of the
other fights. You know, he believed in this style. I
believe in my style. You know it's gonna be a
great fight.

Speaker 6 (09:45):
I can't wait. I can't wait. I'm so excited. I
can't wait.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
A lot of us been talking about Arrow for years
because obviously he's undefeated, and he's a champion. He's got
three belts. We know how great he is. Even though
we all recognize that you are great, there have been
times when you and I have run across one another
one I've seen you talking to other people, and you
see you seem to wear this this belief on your shoulders,
on your sleeves that cats don't believe in me as

(10:11):
much as they should do. You feel this fight is
like Korea defining for you. You've got to win this
fight in spectacular fashion for you to get the respect
you believe that you deserve.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Well, it's always like that every fight is you know
like that for me, you know, every fight is meaningful,
every fight is you know, I need to win this fight,
and I'm you know, one hundred percent certain. Aarro felt
the same. So you know there's a lot riding on
this fight. You know, this is the biggest fight in
boxing in decades, you know, so you know, of course

(10:50):
I want to go out there and put on a
tremendous show and win in spectacular fashion. I'm feeling good,
I'm feeling strong, I'm feeling I'm.

Speaker 6 (10:59):
Ready to go next week diff if it was need be,
you know.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
But at the same time, everything you know has this
time the sun shine on everybody, and you know the
sun gonna shine on me.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
July twenty ninth, I'll throw this question out to both
y'all and Errol. I'll ask you first, we talked about
the welterweight division here.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
You talked about Arrows.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
You just said something arrow a few minutes ago, when
you talked about this being maybe the greatest fight in
the welterweight division in the last forty years.

Speaker 6 (11:25):
Something.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
Well, let me remind you of some of those fights
we got Sugar Ray Leonard versus Timmy to hit Man Hearns.
We had Hearns versus Durant Roberto Duran. We had somebody.
Even though Pupeno Quavis ain't on that level, he was
still good and he was a champion until herds put
him to sleep in two rounds. We saw Alexus of
Guilo versus Arey Pryor. We've seen a whole bunch of
great and we fight.

Speaker 5 (11:47):
In this fight up there with all of them. Definitely,
when people talk about this fight, they're gonna say, shoot
ray Land and Tim and Heard. They gonna say, all
this fight up there with all where.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
I was going was it is right now on paper.
But when you getting that ring, two undefeated fighters that's
capable of knocking you out or going up against one another.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
So give us a taste of what we should expect.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
To see July twenty ninth, based on the history. The
history that I just threw your way.

Speaker 5 (12:18):
I mean, the proof isn't putting. You see Trance proper,
You see his body at work, You see my body
work when I get in the ring. Yeah, everybody already know.
As soon as I get in the ring, I'm stepping
and I say tend to step two. We're gonna put
on a great show and a great performance.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Thanks for watching, all right, fam. That's that's uh what
y'all guys think about that? Man, that's uh Haerol Spence
and uh Bud Crawford going at it. Man, and listen,
there's no love lost between these guys. Let me tell you, man,
no love lost lost between these guys. They it's this

(12:54):
is gonna be a really good fight. This is the
one we've been waiting for for a handful of years now,
and we finally get an opportunity to see both of
these fighters getting the ring Saturday, July to twenty ninth,
Showtime pay per view. It's going down. This is a
definitely a legacy fight for both these guys. We knew that,

(13:15):
you know, they were on a direct collision course for
some time between the two and it's very intriguing and
it's very interesting how it all goes. So let's kind
of look at it, man, let's kind of preview this
thing that I'm a chime in on. The family members
got one more interview to talk about here as well,
So it's gonna be pretty interesting, man. Yeah, respect, it's

(13:36):
definitely mutual. Man. They know that both of these fighters
coming into it they both in their primes. This is
a fight that defined both of them. Like this is
you know, like we talk about Haggler and Hearns, you know,
this is what Spence and Crawford have. This is this
is this is that moment in time. So this will
be really cool. So here's a quick breakdown. Ero Spence

(13:59):
versus Terrence Crawford is the head the head the head
breakdown between the two and we know that you know it, man,
I'm just excited about the fight and where it's going down.
T mobull Arena, Las Vegas, Neva. That's going down in
a major way. And we know that the win lost
record between the two people. The tail of the tape,

(14:21):
Arrow the truth. Spence is twenty eight and old with
twenty two knockouts, as you can see right there, seventy
two inch reach, thirty three year old years old. He's
a South Park with one hundred and forty two rounds
of experience there in the pros, and he's a guy
that you gotta watch out for. One thing I realized

(14:42):
by watching Arrows fights. I'm gonna go through the tail
of the tape and kind of break it down. I
know that Arrow is extremely strong fighter. He will beat
the hell out of your body, that's for sure. He
loves giving them body shots. You know, very strong. Right there,
has a good shot gun jab. It's fundamental. Bud is

(15:02):
but man, listen, bud is, budd is something else. Man
bud is something else.

Speaker 6 (15:09):
He is.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
This is a good The styles make fights. It's gonna
be a going bud thirty nine and oh with thirty knockouts.
It's seventy four inch reach thirty five year olds. Also
south Park Right there, they go into the boxing ability
between the two spenses and the pressure fighter and the
mold of a material Gotti or ray Mancini. But he
does employ a subtle form of aggression behind a strong

(15:30):
south paw jab and sound footwork. He also has a
strong chin too. He's been tested as a good chin.
The jab frequently sets up the left hand shots to
the head and body. He's far more ab depth than
your typical boxer type at working inside the blend of
aggressiveness body punching power. Yields a hybrid style that makes
it difficult for opponents to prepare for. His mastery of

(15:53):
fundamental footwork also allows him to establish distance that methodically overwhelms,
less aggressive folds or confused those whose own path to
victory it's pressure now crawf It in many ways isn't
too dissembled from Spence, which is why this is a
fascinating match up for many reasons beyond just the high
end rankings and title claims. Now, the Nebraskian is a

(16:14):
South Paul by trade, but he shifts stance more nimbly
than any other active wealth to weight, big big, big key,
big kid. We're gonna talk about that when we get
to Terrence's side of the thing. He's also a master range,
which means he needn't fit around the ring or you know,
filled around the ring or minusly blow forward. Instead, he's
effective at being both close enough to land shots and

(16:36):
to draw opponents into over committing then strafing them with
his own offense. He'll not overwhelm people with his punch rates,
but he's also consistently active, intends to throw and bursts
which decisive openness present themselves, so it advantage this saying
it's easing even between him and Bud Bud skill man

(16:59):
punch power only you know they got they got they
got Porter right there. He's a good person to talk
about punch and power. Also, Cal Brooks is another guy
that you could talk to about because Kel fought both
these guys too a different waits of course, but he
had h Porter showtime. Porter can also chime in, they've

(17:21):
had a combined, they've combined and killed better than seventy
five or seventy seven percent of their opponents. Is unlikely
they neither Spencer or Crawford will make a top ten
list of the sports biggest power punches. That's because many
of their finishes have come after several rounds of sustained
pressure and activity rather than single highlight real shots. For Spencer,
six ko's and the twelve rounds came in round six

(17:42):
or beyond, while Crawford is going in the sixth round
or beyond eleven to fourteen inside the distance with wins
in the twelve rounds. Ironically, Sean Porter, who went the
distance with Spencing twenty nineteen and was stopped by Crawford
in twenty one, rates the former. The former's power as
superior because of the single shot damage as compared to
offers asset coming more from whip like speed. I'm not

(18:03):
saying that Arrow is slow, but his stuff is going
to wear you down, he told Kayo artist sports through
the course of rounds is going to wear you down.
With Terrence, it kind of comes out of nowhere. It's
because of the speed. The most intriguing thing about his fights.
People think about the power. They think it's because they
get stronger as the fight goes on. He got that

(18:26):
as an even How about defensive ability between the two men.
Neither Spence nor Crawford practices the defense on the level
of Willie Pep or even Pernel Suite Pee Whittaker, how
Bob Floyd Mayweather. But it's no coincidence that either of
these fighters. Man hold on, hell, let me get back
up to my little place right here, right here, it says, uh,

(18:48):
it's Spence High regardless, it's no coincidence that both fighters
are unbeaten. It's not been often they've been remotely in
danger of losing. They're clearly doing something right. Spence High
guard defense and counter punch aren't the most celebrated parts
of his game, but he does avoid damage and return
fire thanks to clever footwork or hit movement. He also
limits the punishment sustained on the inside, frequently catching encountering

(19:11):
incoming blows. Crawford two is a sublime master of footwork,
whether when moving in straight lines, pivoting to either side,
or moving laterally to get around his opponent, hitting them
with single shots as possible, but it's not often that
he's on the receiving end of prolonged volleys, and he's
at dad of using his counter hooks from the south
past stance and with his lead hand, which is especially

(19:33):
troubling to the right handed fighters attempting to land jabs. Now,
what's the X factors here on these guys? Right X factors?
Spencer's art factor will the recent inactivity matter. Presumably the
fight actually comes in late July, Spence will have fought
three times and the preceding four years, including none in
the last fifteen months thanks to the myriad of injuries

(19:54):
as well as the aforementioned starts and stops associated with
the Crawford showdown. He's thirty three years old, he's had
eye surgery, and he's been in a serious car wreck.
To be fair, sitting on the sidelines for fifteen months
wasn't an issue. Prior to the wide defeat of Danny
Garcia back in twenty twenty and spending sixteen or more months.
Awaight didn't cause the decisive problems before a tenth round

(20:15):
stoppage of Hugas in April of twenty twenty two. But
Crawford is in Garcia all who guys he's likely to
ask for far more of spence than either of those
foes did, And whether the Texan still has the answer
on the highest level is among the few mysteries about
his game. Now, what it's about Crawford his ax factor?
He can be a successful can he be a successful?

(20:35):
Smaller man? Crawford has been an elite commodity and several
weight classes. He's won titles at one thirty five and
one forty before graduating the welterweight with the defeat of Horn,
who beaten Pak y'all. Well, really that was a bum
ass fight. Really, pack y'all beat him. They cheated him.
And at five eight with seventy four inch reach, he's
hardly a small fry one forty seven. But Spencer's taller

(20:57):
and naturally larger, having competed at one fifty four. I mean,
excuse me one fifty two in the twenty twelve Olympics,
and Porter said the single shot power is more damaging
than Crawford's. Crawford hasn't fought anyone who's blending size skilled
like Spence, and it will be telling to see how
the handles how he handles the blows from a guy
who's been rumored to rehydrate to one sixtyer even beyond

(21:19):
by the time the opening bell sounds. So with that
being pointed down, as we went through some of the
the tail of the tape between these guys, what do
you guys think about it?

Speaker 8 (21:32):
Man?

Speaker 1 (21:32):
We talk about styles might make fights both of these
fighters in the prome of their careers. Man, Man, this
is gonna be a really good fight.

Speaker 6 (21:43):
Man.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
I just showed y'all some artwork earlier. A guy predicts
Crawford what's gonna take him down? So let's hear about it. Man,
all right, K says is TC is not in his prime.
He's about to be thirty six year old Q, but
I still favor him ull skilled. Well you know what
I mean in terms of like you gotta look at
it too, like when you if you're if you Bud

(22:06):
Crawford and you got Aerow Spence coming into this thing.
This is both of these guys are gonna take they
they skilled to the next level. Both of them gonna
challenge each other on the level that that you know,
they might have not faced in the welters. You know,
these are two really good fighters, and I think like

(22:27):
it's gonna be this. Each fighter is gonna take his
game to another level because this is the fight that
we've been waiting for. They both know what's at steak
here more than just all the straps, you know, it's
it's for legacy right here. None of them have a
blemish on their record, so it's it's just it's just
a great, great situation. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you remember that slim, Yeah,

(22:50):
that was they cheated Horns. A matter of fact, the
fight was in Australia, wasn't it where they cheated him
out of that and then and Bud did what he did.
He just beat the hell out of Joe Horn. But
I mean not but Horn, but you know Horn was
a guy that you know, the cheated him on it
all right, tried to says Crawford for the win. Well,
a technician, spencer's more of a pressure fight. Oh yeah,
I think that too. So anyway, let me get ready,

(23:13):
let me put drop a link in the chat for
the family members to chime in on this episode. I
want to hear what you guys got to say about this,
so feel free to pop in and let me know
how you guys feel about the fight. All right, let
me put that in the chat for you guys here,

(23:34):
all right, all right, so there you go. Hold on,
let me make sure I got you right here. All right,
here we go. All right, that's the link for the chat.
Fam y'all can finish. Pop on in. Let me hear
from you guys what y'all think about the matchup between
these two guys?

Speaker 9 (23:51):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (23:51):
What do you you know? Kind of verbalize and let
me know how you think the fight ferrets out. You know,
do anybody anticipate a knock out?

Speaker 7 (24:00):
Here?

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Let me ask that to the family members out there.
Does anybody anticipating a knockout to occur between these two fighters?
Do anybody think that's going to happen? I do think
Terrence Crawford is skilled, more skilled than Aero Spence Junior.
But I do respect Ero Spence's fundamental ability. And like
I said, styles make fights, and it depends on what
you know, who's on the A game that night. But

(24:22):
these are professionals. I'm expecting both of these guys to
kind of help take each other's game to a next level.
Let's hear what one of the boxing reporters said from
HBO what his thoughts were on this upcoming fight.

Speaker 8 (24:35):
Here we go himback podcast. Brian Campbell with us here
on HQ for a bit of a preview and Brian,
this fight. It has been in high demand for.

Speaker 10 (24:43):
Years and years.

Speaker 8 (24:44):
So when you finally heard this was happening, give us
your initial reaction.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
What were you thinking?

Speaker 9 (24:51):
Look better late than never?

Speaker 1 (24:53):
Right?

Speaker 8 (24:53):
Not at all.

Speaker 6 (24:54):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
Hold off, fan, We have a little technical difficulty. Say
hold on just a second, let me get it, tune
up again here, but yeah, this is gonna be interested.
Hold on just second.

Speaker 9 (25:08):
Never but boxing super fights not always there when you
call right, but always on time most of the time.

Speaker 7 (25:15):
The question is is this one still on time?

Speaker 6 (25:18):
I believe that it is.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
You're looking at two of.

Speaker 9 (25:20):
The top three pound for pound fighters in the world
at the moment, and two potential all time great welterweight fighters. Finally,
after a four to five year build, signing on the
contract to face each other, not just once for September twelve.
I'm sorry for July twenty ninth, but also a bilateral
rematch clause reportedly in the contract, which could produce a

(25:41):
second fight later this year. You have to love this
matchup because it's not only the chance to crown the
first four belt underspeeded champion in one hundred and forty
seven pound history, with which the With the ups and
downs of boxing's heavyweight division, we all know welterweight has
been the money division, but really this is a era
defining fight in so many ways. We've had those types

(26:04):
of fights in the past, from ray Leondard versus Thomas
Hearns in nineteen eighty one to who can forget Manny
Pacquiau against Floyd Mayweather just eight years ago. The only
similarities in a lot of ways here is that that
Mayweather Pacio fight also took a very long time to
come together when they were thirty six and thirty four,
and Spence in Crawford's case, Crawford's thirty five year old,

(26:24):
Spence is thirty three, but they're still right at the
top of their games. Neither has lost all four titles
at stake, and when we look at the style contrast
between the two, this could be an all action thriller
come late July, b C.

Speaker 8 (26:38):
We can always count you to tie in some jaw rule.
When we're talking about a fight. This is being called
by many the fight of the year. You're saying it
could be the fight of an era. So just tell
us exactly how these fighters match up with one another.

Speaker 9 (26:53):
At the basis, you've got the perfect style contrast of
the southpaw and Earrol Spence Junior, who's as traditional and
orthodox as they come in his fighting style, but can
do it all. It can get inside on you, pound
a way to the body and wear you down like
he did to your Dennis Sugas last year to unify titles.
He can also box on the outside. What he has
across from him though, as an opponent is really the

(27:15):
ultimate artist as a boxer, and that's Terrence Bud Crawford.
He can switch stances at will. He's naturally orthodox, but
can go all over the place and can really adapt
to any situation. Eryl Spence might be more of the
straight ahead, typical fighter, although he's coming from the South
fast dance, but Terrence Crawford can freestyle as well as
anybody in this game. Both pack a high pace and

(27:38):
a big punch in their styles, both can adapt to
any situation.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
You want to see a.

Speaker 9 (27:43):
Thriller with the potential of both action and elite high
level skill. That's the reason why people have been clamoring
for this fight for so long. Yes, maybe, as I mentioned,
it's taken a little bit too long, but I don't
think neither either fighter has passed their respective primes. I
think we're still looking at a big one, and like
I mentioned, the potential for maybe chapter two and three

(28:06):
down the road.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
I'm just so happy we get this once.

Speaker 7 (28:08):
July twenty ninth in Las Vegas.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Yes, yes, yes, I'm ready. Man, Let's get it going.
Let's that's that's fired up tomorrow. Shit, let's get it going.
All right, man, you know what I'm saying. Man, I'm bucked,
I'm amped. I'm ready. Man, I've been damn ready. I've
been I've been ready for years for this to happen.

(28:31):
But man, this is gonna be a good one.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Man.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
So anyway, got a few family members y'all won't chime in,
Please feel free to hit the link in the chat.
Let's hear from you.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
Man.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
We're not gonna be here all night. We're gonna probably
spend another fifteen twenty minutes here long bounce house say,
if you won't pop in'll please feel free to pop in.
We got Slim charming in first, and then we got
k next. You won't get in line, family, hit the link?
All right, Slim, Welcome to the stream. How you doing,
sir man?

Speaker 6 (28:57):
Thanks for having me on Big Q. Can you hear me?

Speaker 11 (29:00):
Sir?

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Loud and clip my friend, Welcome on in. Bro, What
do you think about this?

Speaker 3 (29:03):
My man?

Speaker 12 (29:05):
Honestly, I might go lie. I got Budd and they're
going I think they go to distance. But I think
Budd gonna win in a decision. Okay, okay, I ain't
gonna lie toe like a response. He has a killer
body shot and he had a strong jab. But Terrens
Crawford can fight all kinds of waves though, so I
gave him the advantage, you know.

Speaker 7 (29:26):
So I'm gonna go with blood on this one and
a decision.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Yeah. That that's that's intriguing, bro, because you're right, Budd
is incredibly skilled.

Speaker 7 (29:35):
Bro.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
He south Paul orthodox and and like the man said,
if you watch him fight, he does move in between
both of the styles really flawless. If you remember the
fight that he had against kel Brooke. Helper really good
against him bro in that fight, and then he started,
he went, he switched Stiles and gave kel Brooke and

(29:55):
you know, some some trouble there he started and then
ultimately got him out of there. So yeah, the question
is how does Erro Spence deal with that part of
a Bud Crawford's game when he starts moving between styles
and switching seamlessly. How does Errow how does he adjust
to that?

Speaker 7 (30:17):
The only way I think he can't adjust to it
if he gets to the bouty.

Speaker 6 (30:20):
That's it.

Speaker 7 (30:21):
That's his strong point bit.

Speaker 12 (30:22):
You like, if he can't get the buzz, if he
can't get the buzz body, it's gonna be a long
knife for Aero Spence in my opinion.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Do you think he can get to his body though?
The way Errow is, I mean his footwork and how
he moves you you because he can fight from outside,
He moves around from different angles. He's a very elusive fighter.
And listen, he can stand there. I've seen him stand
there total too. I wouldn't think it'd be wise for
him to do it. You see what how Errow started
just lam baseding new guys and that fight busting them

(30:50):
up pretty bad, right, I don't I don't know if
he might get a few shots, but I don't know.
Can he get to Terrence's body and kind of slow
him down. You punish that body, you kind of kind
of take away that that speed that set him.

Speaker 12 (31:01):
Moving much, right, Big Q. And Oh that's tough because
Bud can punch at the body too. So like so, like,
I think I'm gonna just go with Bud on this one, brother, Like, oh,
I think it's going to different door.

Speaker 7 (31:16):
I'm gonna go with Bud because both both of them
have great body punches.

Speaker 12 (31:19):
But I think Terrence Crawford he has he's so versatile,
so he has that advantage with that, you know.

Speaker 6 (31:25):
So I'm gonna go with Bud on it.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
All right, All right, shout out you, Slim. Nice talking
to you, my brother.

Speaker 6 (31:31):
Appreciate you, n you big cut, and let me before
you kick me all Big Q.

Speaker 7 (31:42):
Let me tell yourself, brother, I enjoy your strings.

Speaker 6 (31:44):
Brother.

Speaker 7 (31:45):
Every time you every time you do mickey, you be
killing me. Brother. I'll be falling on the floor laughing.
I just I just enjoy your streams, brother.

Speaker 6 (31:52):
Keep it up, brother, And I'm always supported my brother.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Thank you Slim much love, Bro, Thank you, appreciate you bro.
All right, all right's brother Slim Man. Appreciate the brother
man doing what he's doing and appreciate him showing some support.
Much love to him. Yeah, Mickey, I'm gonna have to
ask Mickey found what Mickey think about the fight?

Speaker 2 (32:11):
Man?

Speaker 1 (32:12):
You know Mickey and Mickey's you like boxing too, man?
You know, yeah, I'll tell you something. Wow, I'll you
don't let me tell you I was back there, you know,
back in the day. You know, yeah, oh yeah, like
a good knockout. Okay, Mickey, he calm down, all right,
So we're gonna bring in k K. Welcome to the street.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
How you doing it?

Speaker 10 (32:33):
I'm doing good, big cute. What's going on doing?

Speaker 1 (32:37):
I'm chilling. I'm really for this fight about we finally.

Speaker 13 (32:41):
Get to I hear it in your voice. I heard
in your voice, your geek, You're ready for it to
happen tomorrow, right.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Ready, tomorrow. The hell with all that other stuff. Let's
go right now. We've been waiting for years. Let's get it.

Speaker 10 (32:52):
Amen to that.

Speaker 13 (32:54):
I still think this fight is two years post do
but we'll you know, it's it's at least it's not
as bad as Mayweather pack Yard, So I guess we'll
just have to take it July twenty ninth. But I'm
favoring Bud, and I'm actually favoring Bud by stoppage around
the eleventh, like close towards the end of the fight.
And I know everybody talks about Bud's ability to switch,

(33:17):
which is, you know, obviously he's one of the most
falllest switch hitters we've had in the last twenty years
or whatever.

Speaker 10 (33:22):
But I think his ability to box.

Speaker 13 (33:25):
Off the back foot, yes, in combination with his ability
to use angles, is what's really going to give him
the advantage in the fight when it's all said and done.
You know, Erol has a tendency to overreach some time
and put a lot of his weight on the front
foot right, and then he's off balance. And if you
look at Bud's ability to step back into the side

(33:47):
and laying power shots from either hand, that puts Errol
to me at a huge disadvantage if he gets over zealous.
And the only way I see Terrence losing this fight
is it if he gets in that ego mode, you know,
sometimes like if somebody gets a good shot, he wants
to stand there and go mino and mino right.

Speaker 10 (34:08):
I would not advise that against Errol Spence because if
you let him get to the body, you know he's
gonna wear him down. But unless Terrence fights.

Speaker 13 (34:16):
You know, a not smart fight, which I can't see
him doing against an opponents.

Speaker 10 (34:21):
As skilled and talented as Arrow, I think he will
fight a smart fight.

Speaker 13 (34:27):
I don't see how Errow will get to his body
because Terrence's footwork is too good and his ability to
fight off that back foot. I just really feel like
that's going to give him the advantage down to distance,
and I think he's gonna catch Erro slipping.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
You know what, Kay, that's great points man. Listen. The
thing I noticed is I like both of these boxes
a lot. I knew when I started seeing them accumulate titles.
When when when Bud climbed up there and I was like, oh,
be about to see that head on collision. And then
they start joined at each other back in twenty eighteen

(35:02):
and on Twitter, and you hear him and Ero would
say he too light and the ass and all that
he ain't you know, all these type of comments to
say that Terrence is a small fighter, a smaller fighter
than him. But it's the power game, that's one thing.
But you're absolutely right that Bud Crawford is He's the
he's the more skilled fighter, he's the most complete fighter

(35:26):
of the two. I would have to I definitely have
to agree with you on that. Kid k dropped off
k if chim back in, pop back in. I don't
know if you meant to. I think she might have
lost a signal, but that was great points. Ero Spence
does tend to reach a bit and some of the
foes that he the last several folds that he fought,

(35:47):
you know, like what was his last most complete fight
that I want to say that Aero Spence really was
gave a clinic when he but was it a camper fight? Well?
He just he just beat the hell out of the guy.
What was his last most complete fight that we seeen
Aero Spence fight? Not the the uh the black hat man?

(36:08):
His name escapes me, uh the black hat uh since Arrow,
since Arrow beat him, he hadn't been the same man.
What was his name? Y'all? Put remind me drop put
that in a comments section, fam Ya. If y'all remember
who I'm talking about. Hey, you back, false star Falcon.
You stay right there. I'm gonna bring you on, can

(36:29):
you facts? Queen?

Speaker 6 (36:30):
Let me let me?

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Uh you you mentioned him reaching Now the last most
beat fight that I seen from Aero Spence when he
taught the Black Hat. Now you remember that the nickname
of the fight is the black Cat. I forgot his name, man,
uh uh? Gonzales is the same is a Gonzales. I'm
gonna have to go through his law. But but yeah,

(36:53):
the car accident, him having these little side issues or whatnot,
and the fact that like the like the reporter mentioned
the inactivity, like we talked about in the article, of
being off of from fighting for like fifteen months, How
does this play in your perspective to Bud?

Speaker 10 (37:14):
You know, I think Errol trains really well. You know,
obviously Derek James is a great coach.

Speaker 13 (37:20):
So I think inactivity is is a symptom of the times, right,
you know. We I'm almost fifty. So my generation of
Boxes when I was coming up, they would fight three, four,
sometimes five times a year. This generation of Boxes, all
of them are fighting primarily one time a year, right, So.

Speaker 10 (37:41):
I think the inactivity is not a good thing.

Speaker 13 (37:45):
But of all of the boxers of this generation, I
think it doesn't affect Errol as much as it would
affect some other boxes. But when you're facing the appontment
like Terrence Crawford, me personally, I wouldn't just go into
that without, you know, getting some rounds in a fight.
But Errol says, you know, he don't need tuneups. So

(38:06):
he did pretty good off of the car accident when
he fought Danny Garcia. After the eye injury he was
out for some time. He came in and busted up Ugas,
So you know, you gotta take him at his word
when he says he doesn't need tuneups.

Speaker 10 (38:18):
But you know, I don't think it benefits him to
be out of the.

Speaker 13 (38:22):
Ring over and over and over for such a long
period of time. But even in the UGA's fight, there
were so many times where Errol was off balance. You know,
he put so much weight on that front foot and
was swinging wildly, and you know, Ugas doesn't have anywhere
near the accuracy on Terrence Crawford, And there were times

(38:43):
in that fight that I was literally like, oh my god,
if that was Terrence Crawford, he would have been completely
knocked out because Terrence would have just slipped, you know,
slipped to the right, got on that angle and taken
him out.

Speaker 10 (38:54):
So, like I said, if Terrence gets that bravado like he.

Speaker 13 (39:00):
Did with me Machine, you know, and even with Gamboa
sometimes where he just wanted to stand in there and
mix it up, that's the only way I see Terrence.

Speaker 10 (39:09):
Losing a fight. But if he uses his lateral movement,
you know, switch hits and more than anything, uses his
footwork to stay out of range of the body shots
of Arrow, I don't I don't really see how Aerow
can win other than a punch. His chance.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
And that's great points right there, because I have I
got the Arrow's fight resume up on the of some
of the fighters that the last several fighters he fought.
The fight I was thinking about. He put a clinic again,
was Mikey Garcia? Yeah, that was an absolute clinic. Now,
you're absolutely right that Sean Porter fight was interrest in

(39:47):
the account. You know, they kind of went back and forth.
It was a it's and then you look at what
Bud did form you know, a couple of years later,
and we know styles make fights. But the Danny Garcia
fight to me, uh, coming off the accident and all that,
I wasn't really you know, it was a it was
an okay fight, but I was kind of looking for

(40:08):
a little bit more. But man, man, and you know,
rest in peace to my brother too mean. And we
were looking at that fight and he was not asking.
I said to mean, does does he look a little
hesitant to you? And you know when something like that
happens to you and you get back into the ring
like his card. I remember the video his call flipped over,

(40:31):
uh you know, and I think he was ejected from
the car. He held up went back to it. So
the guy is tough as nails. Man, He's toughest nails.
And he got back in the ring. But like I said,
this is going to be very interesting at the very
least to see how this it's all going. But yeah,
it's uh since he climbed into the welters looking at

(40:52):
uh looking at Budgs record. I mean you look at
the Sean Porter fight where his father, Sean Porter's fall
through the towel in in that fight, you know, he
was like he just he threw the towel in on him.

Speaker 6 (41:07):
Man.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
You know we've seen I've seen a lot of Sean
Porter's fights. But you know, and I know that was
towards the back end of his career, but man, Crawford
finished off man. So what I'm saying is I like,
you know, you see the parallels, like you've seen Crawford fights. Uh,
you know showtime Porter, you see Erol Spence fight, Show
Time Porter. You've seen Erol Spence fight. Call fought kel Brooke.

(41:31):
That's how he got He went over there, and I
think that's how he got his first title. If I'm
not mistaken. He got his first title. He took kel
Brooks stuff and then the then then you see Bud
fought kel Brooke and then took him out. So it's interesting, man,
It's it's gonna be fun. Let's go to False Star
Felt and I see your tragic on that. You hang close, bro,
fall Star. How you doing?

Speaker 6 (41:51):
What's going on? Brother? Can you get me good? Yes?

Speaker 1 (41:53):
Sir, loud and clear. How do you doing on the fight?

Speaker 7 (41:56):
Bro?

Speaker 2 (41:57):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (41:58):
I see, I see, I see Erro winning man. And
I'll give you I'll give you two words. Work rate.
He's gonna outwork Terrence, He outwork everybody else. He getting
the ring with the guy starts punching. You heard what
he said on the interview, And I step in that
ring when that bell ring, I start stepping, and we
all know that's true. He starts stepping towards that opponent,

(42:20):
and he starts at a body assault. Now I'm seeing
to go like this the first four rounds, at least
the first four to five rounds. He's gonna go helaziously
at that body. I understand all of Crawford's attributes. I
understand what he can do in the ring, but Arrow
has a committed body attack. He's not gonna stop just

(42:41):
because you moved to the left and move to the right,
because you slipped a few punches and the boy could
take a punch. Yeah, conk you know what I'm saying.
Concrete couldn't take him out of here. So I doubt that,
uh that Bud gonna do gonna do too much to him.

Speaker 11 (42:56):
Now.

Speaker 6 (42:57):
I like, I like what he did. I like what
Bud did to Porter.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
But in EJ's defense, he told y'all, hey, I'm trying
to fight his fight. He want to get he want
to get stand in this middle of his fring and
throw bowls and all that. I'm gonna do the same thing,
so he beat him in his own game. One thing
I know about Crawford is that I think the young
ladies she just she said it, and when she started

(43:23):
talking about standing up and mixing it up in the
middle of the ring, I feel that Crawford is gonna
try that and he's gonna get hurt because he's one
of those guys that he was going to get his
lick back, you know what I mean. Errol caught me good.
I'm gonna stand in the middle of the ring. I'm
gonna try and mix it up too. That's gonna be
his downfall if he tries that. Now, if the fight

(43:45):
goes eight, nine, ten in too, those championship rounds, that's
all aerol all day. That's aerol all day because that
body attack that he started in the second, third, and
fourth round gonna take all that steam right off them punches.
And I don't know if you remember during the Ugas fight,
I don't know who you was watching it with.

Speaker 6 (44:04):
But everybody I was at the fight party with, why
is he not moving?

Speaker 1 (44:07):
Why he just standing there?

Speaker 3 (44:09):
Because that body assault, you can't move, you can't move,
and that thing hurt. So all the all the all
them pop shots and stands, and he does a lot
of posturing too, but I don't like about but he
does a lot of posturing in pauling, you know, standing there,
pawing in the ring. And you can't do that with
EJ from from the time that bell ring. You gotta

(44:31):
start throwing punches because he's that's what he doing. He's
not trying to conserve energy for the championship rounds. He
is trying to get to you to take you out.
I'm talking about take all your energy away. That's why
all those fighters got all them busted up eyes.

Speaker 6 (44:44):
Look at it.

Speaker 1 (44:45):
I think I put it in a chat.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
I don't know if he was talking about Lamar Peterson
or he was talking about Ugast, but all those guys
got their eyes.

Speaker 6 (44:51):
But go ahead.

Speaker 1 (44:52):
I was talking about Mikey Garcia. That's why I was
making it. The clinic he put on was against Mikey Garcia.
That's the was That's what I was thinking about with
Aerol Spence when they were talking about Mikey Garcia. And
at the time, Mikey Garcia was forty and oh, I
want to say, or something like that, thirty nine he
was thirty nine.

Speaker 6 (45:09):
Oh, just like Terrence right, and he.

Speaker 1 (45:11):
Was like in the and he was spectacular, and then
after that clinic he wasn't. He wasn't the same. Yeah,
he went in there and really showed some sports right there.
So that was the last really complete, like really perfect
fight that I seen Eryl fought, you know against Garcia.
He heard all of them, went out there and put
on the clinical Go ahead, my brother, you finish up.

Speaker 3 (45:32):
Oh no, no, I'm just excited, man, I'm excited for
the fight. I think we won. The fans won with
this one man, to be honest. So we we got
we got something we've been looking for for a while.
I'm glad it's on the horizon. If I can, I'm
gonna try to make it on not that, but man,
as soon as I started the notification pop up, I said, boy,
let me go ahead.

Speaker 1 (45:50):
Check OutQ boy. I know he talked about something night.

Speaker 6 (45:54):
Now you think it easy?

Speaker 2 (45:55):
Man?

Speaker 6 (45:56):
You can stay up, stay up, stay doing your thing.
And uh, we want to sweep y'all this year.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
That's all I gotta say.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
Oh man, brother, I'm we're gonna have y'all doing this.

Speaker 6 (46:05):
Like this. Be good man, all right?

Speaker 1 (46:17):
Much love Fall Star falcon In the building. All right, brother,
tragic man, how you doing, sir? Welcome on in.

Speaker 11 (46:23):
Pretty good, pretty good. I just caught the uh identification.
I see it right away from that cause, you know,
just glanced at my phone and I'm actually a big
boxer fan. I'm not on here too often, but actually,
after football, really, boxing is like my second best, uh
I say, my favorite among sports.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
Yeah, bro, me too, Bro. I mean I came up boxing.
My uncle got me involved in the boxing game when
I was a child man, and that was like the
first love and then after that everything else followed that,
to be honest with you. So yeah, in the box
for a while. But bro, but tragic this is a
great fight right here. A lot of great commentary tonight
from the family members. Charming. So what would you want

(47:06):
to think about this, bro?

Speaker 11 (47:08):
Man? You know, Kate said it all. I mean her
commentary breaks down to a fight.

Speaker 7 (47:14):
That's somebody who she beat our boys in school.

Speaker 1 (47:18):
She's a fighter, Yeah, Kate, Kate had got some straps
she was fighting with uh the game man.

Speaker 11 (47:26):
Yeah, yeah, you know, just about the back foot and everything.
And you know, I agree with a lot of comentary
like man, I.

Speaker 1 (47:33):
Was staying about because I was looking at the footage
with Bud fighting backwards because most fighters don't really do
well fighting backwards man, But yeah, he was he able
to make it work in many cases.

Speaker 6 (47:44):
Yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 11 (47:44):
Think you know, from a fundamental standpoint, I think, you know,
Blood is like Blood technician. I think, you know, like
you know, he's on that line of like the main rappers,
you know, they just so technically and fundamentally found. You know,
sometimes he can get on in patie, but once you know,
but once you if he does get a patient, he

(48:05):
any any any any he makes that mistake, he's not
gonna make it again, and then he'll definitely go back
to the game plan and carry out his uh game
plan how it's supposed to be. And I think, you know,
like I said, he's a very technical fighter. I feel
Spencer is more of a pressure fighter. And I just think,
like you know, when it comes to like two two

(48:26):
great fighters, you know, I think the it comes down
to fundamentals. I think that's what Bud has, and I
think that just eventually takes over as the fight goes on.
Those fundamentals just carries over as the longer the fight
goes So I figure that's where Crawford will come out
at come on the top at the end.

Speaker 1 (48:44):
Let me ask you this, bro, because this is another
really great commodity to this fight is the fact that
there's a clause in there before that triggers a rematch, Uh,
you know, the losing fighter triggers a rematch that's supposed
to happen before the end of the year. So you're
gonna get two of these fights, man on one on
July July to twenty ninth, and another one before the

(49:05):
end of the year. So what do you think about
the prospect of having, you know, at least two fights
from Spencer Crawford. Now, whoever loses the fight, you can
imagine what it will look like in the second fight.
So what do you think about that, bro?

Speaker 11 (49:21):
Well, consider that that that it is that it is
the second one. I could possibly see this fight, even
though I think Crawft is the better fighter, because a
second fight is involved. I wouldn't be surprised if the
judge is making a draw to make sure a second
fighter is involved.

Speaker 6 (49:42):
Oh no, no, no.

Speaker 1 (49:44):
Having problems with the referees this year. Matter of fact, man,
we don't need no more calls. It would happen the
last fight with Devin Hayman and Loan and Lomer Man,
that was ridiculous all into itself, man, and I was like, man,
let's just do it again. And but h Devin like, man,
it ain't even close. And his father came out, was like, man, no,

(50:05):
we want I don't know what that's on the judges.
I'm like, man, you know, I can see him wanting
to move up and wait, but yeah, this I hope
that's not the case, man, But it's going to be
interesting to scene these two go at it.

Speaker 11 (50:18):
So but want hotels there you go.

Speaker 1 (50:22):
But and they're getting chipped off for this man. This
is both both of these fighters got They had huge
purses that that's coming out of this thing.

Speaker 8 (50:30):
Man.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
So I really I think I find it really fascinated, man,
that we get two of these fights after years of
wait before we find together.

Speaker 11 (50:39):
Yeah, you're still catching them while they're stealing their primes.
It's not they're not over their prime. So yeah, it's
good for boxing that you get to quality a level fighters,
you know, stealing their prime.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
Both of them saying that eventually, they were both saying
that they're gonna move up and wait. So I don't
think nobody want to fight Boots because he's really the
next dude up. That's like, hey, man, let's get this done.
But they were saying a couple of years, and I'm like,
the agreement has two fights in the same year, So
don't have to hamstring gods like Boots in this or

(51:12):
Artis that's in there. That's the younger weal to weights
that's waiting to kind of get a shot at the crown.
But both of these fighters are rumored to want to
move up in class after this is done. What do
you think about that, bro?

Speaker 11 (51:26):
Well, you know, when that time comes, you know, I'm
not too much focused on that. I'm focus more on
this present, and you know, I'm excited to see this fighting.
Whatever happens you know in the future is fuzzy moving
up and wait when that time comes, you know, I
enjoy that more. But right now, I'm gonna savor this
moment and I'm not looking for that, nothing far, for

(51:47):
nothing before. Just just enjoy the moment.

Speaker 7 (51:52):
Bro.

Speaker 1 (51:53):
Let me tell you something, man, I'm with you on that.

Speaker 7 (51:56):
Bro.

Speaker 1 (51:56):
I want this damn fight to happen this weekend. I'm
really excited about this.

Speaker 2 (52:00):
Man.

Speaker 1 (52:00):
Tragedy shout out to you brother, thank you for charming
in man. Appreciate you, bro. They always man, all right,
that's brother Tragedy charming and shout out to him and
appreciate all the family members k Slim Fall Star Felcon
Tragic All y'all charming in the night man. Listen, man,
y'all y'all excited like I am, man about this whole

(52:22):
situation with Bud Crawford and Aerol Spence. You know, they
got kind of wordy with each other and and all this,
but I think they'll bring out the best. This is
a legacy moment. This is like some of the fights
that we'll have an opportunity to see when you talk
about Hearns and and Haggler when they did they thing. Man,
this is like we're seeing we're gonna see that class

(52:43):
or that that that that that realm of a fight.
Uh two of them. But you know what the question
I have too that I'm thinking is like, how does
one of these how does these guys like they undefeated,
they've been undefeated for a while. How do a how
does a Aero Spence Jr. Terrence b Budd Crawford deal
with a loss this late? You know, you know that's

(53:05):
far along up the road. How do they deal with that?
You know, would that impact any of these guys with
know Aero Spence you know, flipped out of his his
sports car, had eye issues and all that overcame that
to get back to the ring. We know how tough
this brother is. We know Bud, how he came up rough,
where he came out, his community, how tough he is,

(53:27):
and how his story his mama, how she got him
involved in because he was beating up everybody. They say
Bud was beating up people that was bigger than him.
Bud been beating people asses, man, even when he was
a child. That's what his mama she was saying that. So,
you know how let me ask this question to the
family members. How do because a loss is gonna happen

(53:48):
unless it ends like tragic, say, and they just draw
it for a part too. I hope that's not the case.
But what do you guys think? Let me know in
the comments section, how do you think either one of
these fighters will deal with the loss? Man, how do
y'all think? You know, how do y'all think that happens?
How you think it? Because that would be interesting to

(54:09):
see to me being at how these guys moved up
in the ranks and and did what they did. So
it's just phenomenal. I'm looking forward to it. But anyway,
with that being said, family, listen, I'm gonna get out
on that listen. I appreciate y'all so much for chimming

that's coming down the line as well.

Speaker 3 (54:58):
