Speaker 1 (00:01):
You are now listening to you Rings Kings Boxing World flash.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Reboard shout out to the fair. I appreciate y'all being
this episode of Ring Kings Boxing. Man, I'm big here
in this episode of Ry King's Box and now I'm
gonna talk a little boxing with you guys, and a
couple of articles. Very interesting man, and of course a
little something to talk about with the Javanta Take Davis
lamont Roach rematch, which is not official, but you know,
(00:30):
very interesting to kind of go over it and kind
of think about what was going on in the controversial
draw here. A lot of people, include myself, just thought
that I think lamont Roach surprised Tank Davis. Thank Davis
had a lot of stuff going on in this corner,
a lot of stuff going on with himself, a lot
of people saying even Clarissa Shield mentions that he needs therapy,
(00:52):
all kinds of stuff. But lamont Roach came to play,
his team had him ready to fight, and he showed out.
And I think Tank Davis to a degree definitely underestimated
with lamont Roach. Was about a lot of people thought
that Tank would knock lamont Roach out in between five
to seven rounds and that simply didn't happen. Lamont Roach
was robbed in my opinion. You guys already know that,
(01:14):
but anyway, a little something to talk about in this
one was that it was due to the WBA Lightweight
World Champion Davis taking a knee in round nine, and
that referee Steve Willis did not call it a knockdown.
Had he done so, the scores remained the same for
the rest of the fight. Roach would have won. Now,
of course, that was challenged, and despite the New York
(01:35):
State Athletic Commission to polling the official resolve, both men
entered talks for an immediate rematch. Now, what would happen
in the rematch? What would you think in the rematch?
A lot of people think that Tank Davis would then
open up a cana whoop ass on Lamont Roach. I'm
not too certain. I think it'll be a very inarrested fight,
but a focus Tank Davis should definitely should be able
(01:57):
to dispatch the likes of Littlemont Roach. You to be
in an entertaining fight. Let's see with Tim Bradley. He tied,
then let's see what his thought process was on what
happens here. Here's Tim Bradley here here we go the same.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
When Davonta rematches Lamont Roach could be could be Yeah,
it is the Susman fights man and obviously Lamont roach man. Look,
anybody that can take a shot and that's tough, bro,
and that can take it to Tank, they can beat him,
all right. Roach he mentally tough at his game plan
(02:31):
was as cute. Was able to march forward in spots. Uh,
he was able to control a lot of the action,
you know, and he put the pressure and he it's
hard enough to get Tank respect. You know, he landed
on Tank. He didn't hurt Tank, and he was there,
you know what I mean, he was there battling him mentally,
you know, talking shit to him and you know, going
back and forth. Like he handled his business. He did
exactly what he's supposed to do. He did a great job.
(02:53):
Him and his team hadn't ready, you know the second
time around.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah, i mean.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Look, Tank, no Tank, no Tank nos what what he brings?
You know, Tank knows he's a tough opposition. Tank knows
that his style is tough as well. I'm sure tanks
don't go back to the drawing board and see where
they can improve in or improve on, and you know
they're gonna come back and they're gonna gonna put their
best foot forward. Bro. But like, look, if this ship
don't motivate you, Tank, you know the fact you gotta
(03:19):
draw the fact that you had a big fight lined
up with Jake Paul after this and now you gotta wait,
now you have.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
To do his rematch.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Bro, If this don't motivate you, I don't know what will?
You know what I'm saying, because like his name right
now is getting drugg through the mug, you know. And
all those fans that was on his side, bro, a
lot of them was now a lot of.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Them are switching teams now, you know.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
So you know, look, he got a lot to prove,
not only to himself, but a lot of proof to
his fans and his fan base out there. So he
go back in there at his rematch and he do
what he's supposed to do, like he's supposed to do
the first time around. Then all the shit that happened
to the pand on it swept under the rug, because
that's just how you know, the fans is and the
sport is, you know. And then he moves on to
two bigger things. I guess Jake Paul's that guy, all right.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
That's Tim Bradley, man, his thought process on Tank davis
rematch with Lamont Roach and h Tim Bradley makes some
good points, man, that's true. A lot of the family members,
not the die hards. We know what type of fighter
Tank Davis say is. We know every now and again
you'll have a fight that you you know, it's just
a part of the sports as it has been doing
(04:21):
this thing for a long time now. Every now and
again you kind of lose focus. Things gets a little boring,
and then you take a misstep. You have a couple
of them, and he should have lost that fight. He
should have collected his first loss, and it didn't happen.
Now he that's the beauty of boxing. You have an
opportunity to come back around and correct the wrongs of
(04:41):
what happened in the previous fight. So, uh, it's going
to be an interesting fight. But I still have Tank
Davis beating Lamont Roach. No disrespect to Lamont Roach. I
just think when a fully focused, well trained Tank Davis
will not you won't beat that guy. So anyway, shout
out to the Roach. It's just it's just what it
(05:02):
is all right, let's move on to the y'all. Let
me know in the comment section how y'all feel about it?
Do you think a fully ready to go Tank against
a fully ready to go Lamont roach who wins that fight?
Comment in the section below. All right, moving on to
the next one here, man, This is from Ring Magazine.
This is talking about Bud Crawford and his matchup coming
up with Canelo Alvarez. This is for all of the marbles,
(05:24):
and I think a lot of people know that eventually,
when it's all said and done, Tank Day, I mean
Cannelo Elver, I mean Bud Crawford against Canelo overres. This
is the big money fight that ultimately Bud goes out
with it. You know, he's gonna get it together for
one final fight, and I think this is what it that,
that's it. He's what. Crawford's what thirty seven years old
(05:47):
right now, so he wants to put it together for
a big payday fight and this is going to be fun.
So the upcoming opponent and pound for pound great Terrence
Crawford agrees that Canelo Elva Zcus is himself to face
a boxing He says, I've been a fan of boxing.
A fan of Canelo for years, Crawford told The Ring
during an extensive exclusive interview, I just look at all
(06:08):
of these fights as great. Without one, there wouldn't be another.
Each fight is defining to take you to the next level.
Each champion is a challenge to take you to the
next level. I'm not going to dismiss any fighter that
he ever fought because of all of them that have
placed him in the position that he is right now,
and that is the face of boxing. He said that
during his interview. I'm gonna play another interview where he
contradicts himself on that because he does say, you know,
(06:30):
none of those fighters are a skilled for me, and
he is. He's saying that, but he does discount him
to a degree. All signs point to Crawford, who's forty
one and oh with thirty one knockouts, and Elvarez, who's
sixty two and two with thirty nine knycouts, meeting for
a matchup in a super fight slated for September that
could be for the undisputed one hundred and sixty eight
pound title. If Alvarez beats Williams Skull on May third,
(06:55):
that's coming up and for several agonizing years of waiting
to land a meaningful fight, Crawford has landed back to
back fights to further his legacy. In twenty twenty three,
Crawford crushed Aerospins Junior for or the one sided stoppage
when Arrow hadn't been back since. And August, he's become
a four division title holder by beating Israel mad Ramov
for the one hundred and fifty four WBA belt he
(07:18):
now holds, which was kind of a to me. I
didn't like that Bud fight. You know. It was not
because it was kind of slow whatnot. It just I
just think they kind of, you know, they didn't quite
score the fight correctly. I thought how mad and Rale fought.
I thought he won a few more rounds than what
(07:40):
we seen. But it is what it is. As people,
we always want things. We want them, you know, when
we want them, says Crawford. But when it's time, when
it's God's he says, when God lets the lights shine
on you. I just bought my time and stayed patient
and as active as possible and kept winning. I still
have a lot of doubters and a lot of hate
at at some time, I just I just get I
(08:01):
just get my just do It's beautiful. Don't just expect
Crawford to take a fight and inter room for the
sake of staying busy. I'm just clearly focused on one
individual right now, and that's Canelo and only Canelo. Crawford said,
just train, get my body right, and get used to
my weight, to the size, and get stronger. He recently
posted the fold indicating he was one hundred and eighty
six pounds. He didn't agree guarantee the method book. A
(08:23):
win is a win on it, and that's what he
envisions a victory in Crawford's favor. He said, come on, man,
I'm the best, and he also dropped some game terrace.
Crawford also even drops some game on how he figures
that he can beat Canelo over Rest in his thought
process on the fight between Canelo up Rest. Take a listen.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
I feel I got the speed over Canelo. I got
to reach over he might got the size, the power.
I got the better skills, boxing skills.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
It would it be more of a counter miles time.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
The reality is is Canelo does put people out from
Kirkland to a mere Khan.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
She just.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
I'm just saying, man, no, no, but he's not. He
don't get me wrong. He does have a lot of power.
But all those guys that you name it is not
as skillful as me. I'm sorry, no disrespect to none
of those fighters. The skill level is how do you
see a fight with to fight? Canelo is a great fighter,
(09:19):
Like I always have respect for Canelo. I just believe
in my skills. The fact that people doubt me, it
just fueled me even more try to get the fight
even more. And I'm watching them, I'm like, man, I
can beat this dude. I can't fighting people bigger than
me all my life and I always came out on top.
You're gonna get hit.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
It's a fight. He gonna get hit too. It'll be good.
I feel like, all right, that go Budd talking And
what say you guys? How do you think the fight
plays out between Budd Crawford and canelol for Rest. Do
you agree with Bud? Do you think Bud he did
make a point about him being more skillful than some
of those fighters that the Holts was making mention of.
(09:55):
At the end of the day, Crawford is considered one
of the best fighters of the modern of recent years
of what he was able to accomplish, and he's this
would be a defining fight if he can be able
to beat Canelo Overrest, not saying that it can't be
done because Bud's right, Bud does have power. He doesn't
(10:15):
have nowhere near Canelo elver as power. But he's very slick,
He's very He's just he's he's a very uh, a
complicated fighter. I mean he's very you know, he does
the switch thing where he goes from uh, you know,
from Orthodox to South Park. I mean he does he
(10:36):
can fight either way. I mean, he's very smart in
the ring. He's he's just a ring general, you know,
and he knows he knows how to fight. And I
think in this fight you'll have a guy like him
putting all of that together against Cannelo overs and it
will be an interesting fight, to be honest with you.
And he talked about it being a cat and mount sting.
He's right, he'll hit Canelo and Canelo will hit him.
(10:58):
But I don't even though I think that he will
be able to find Canelo very easily, the thing is
when eventually, when the fight happens, when it gets to
the grind mold of the fight King Terrence crawfould take
the pounding that Canelo over as the punch power that
Canelo overs is gonna unleash on him the body punching.
If he can, you know, he'll be able to touch him.
(11:21):
And uh, I don't know. It's just very very him
going up to that weight class and fight Canelo there.
I just I just don't. I don't know, you know,
I do. I do like Bud Crawford's boxing skilled. He's
a wonderful fighter. I mean, he's very slick, very intelligent
in the ring. Like I say, he's a ring general.
(11:41):
Not saying that Canelo elva esk couldn't be beaten, because
he did. He has he lost before and it's just
going to be interesting to see how that happens. Uh
in September. Man, we'll just we'll just be waiting there
y'all coming in the section below. Let me know how
y'all feel about Ayle Crawford and how this would end
(12:02):
up happening. Man, this would be very interesting indeed. And
of course the final article we have here is Kayla
Plant Jamal Charlo to co headline May card in Las
Vegas before planned twenty twenty five grudge match. So you
have Caela Plant and Charlo, and y'all remember they hit.
These two guys had some beef with each other, but
(12:23):
Plant Charlo headed toward a long awaited super middleweight grudge
match in the latter portion of twenty twenty five, but
at first they share a card. On May the thirty first,
in Vegas, Plant is set to face Jose Armado Rosendiz
in a PBC on Prime Video main event, while Charlo
expected the in a eighteen month layoff against Thomas Lamana
(12:47):
and the Knight's chief support. Now Ring Magazine was the
first with the news of the doubleheader. Both Plant and
Charlo rivalry escalated at a wayh d for Terrence Crawford
and Erro Spencer's fight back in July of twenty twenty three,
where Plant was filmed delivering an open handed slap to
Charlo's face. Plant claimed that Charlo disrespected his marriage and
(13:09):
grabbed him by the beard, so he was forced to retaliate.
I did see him grabbing Plant by the beard, and
that's what Plant did, openly slap his as So you
know Plant twos twenty three and two were fourteen kills
previously held the IBF super middleweight title from January twenty
nineteen to November twenty one, until he lost the four
(13:30):
belt unit face unification fight against Panela Olrez, where he
was stopped in the eleventh round. Plant's now thirty two,
bounced back with a brutal knockout of Anthony Durrell afterward,
but then proceeded to fall shot against David Benavidez via decision.
In its most recent bout, No Plant has had to
rise off the campus to win a WBA interim belt
(13:52):
against Trevor mcumbe this past September. Not quite the same
fighter man as he was before. Speaking of that, Charlo,
who's thirty three and oh twenty two knockouts to form
a super well to weight middleweight world champion, has been
largely inactive in recent years due to a combination of
injuries and well documented mental health struggles. In Charlo's loan
(14:12):
about over the past three years, you won an unimpressive
ten round the unanimous decision over Jose Benavidez Junior on
David benavia As versus Demetrius umdride U dried undercard in
twenty of twenty three. Now Mexico's Rescindaz is fifteen to
two of eleven knockouts, best known for his upset win
over one time unified super welterweight champion Jared Hurd in
(14:36):
twenty twenty three. Lamanna, who's thirty nine to five and
one with eighteen kales, was taken out an open round
of his sole title challenge against WBA middleweight champion is
Roland de Lara in twenty twenty one. Since then, Jersey
native has strung together nine wins on the bounts and
now heads into the biggest fight of his career. Plan
and Charlo with significant betting favorites against Rincendez and Lamanna respectively,
(15:00):
and what is expected to be a pair of routine
victories for a major pay per view clash in twenty
twenty five. Can Charlo rebound plant in Charlo if they
can win their potential cleanup fights, right, We'll see how
it goes, Man. A lot of people have lost faith
in Charlo, the Charlo's period. It's just really something how
(15:25):
at one time PBC was running it. Man, they had
both the Charlo boys was doing anything, Ero Spence was
doing this thing, and boy did they all fall flat.
Ero Spence hasn't been anywhere since getting dispatched and destroyed
by Bud Crawford and the Charlos begin in fighting and
they have not been the same either. One of those
(15:45):
guys if completely some of you know, just completely bottomed out.
So we'll see if these guys could stay focused and
get back to being great as time has moved on.
But boy, when you don't fight as much, man, that
ring ruts russ bills up on your skills diminish a bit.
And plus, are you fighting for you know, the love
(16:06):
of the sport, for a legacy or you're just fighting
for a check? What's going on here? So, anyway, with
that being said, y'all comment in the comment section below
on Plant and Charlie. What do you guys think about
a Plant and Charloe potential match for those guys coming
up later on in this year, y'all let me know anyway.
With that being said, y'all comment on all three of
these boxing ty articles we covered today on the stream.
(16:30):
Let me know how you feel. Hit the comments section up, man,
and I'll be back later on to talk about more
of it. Much love and big ups to you. So's
