Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey there, beautiful souls, Welcome back to self Love Affirmations
for Women, your daily dose of empowerment and sunshine. I'm
Rachel Carter, your host and cheerleader Extraordinair, here to help
you navigate this crazy journey called life with a little
more grace, a whole lot of love, and maybe even
a sprinkle of humor along the way. Today we're diving

(00:20):
into something super important self compassion. You know that magical
ingredient that can make all the difference in your mental health. Ever,
feel like you're constantly beating yourself up, like your inner critic,
as a relentless bully with a megaphone. Yeah, me too,
But guess what we don't have to live like that.
Self compassion is like a warm hug for your soul,
a reminder that you're worthy of kindness and understanding even

(00:43):
when things get messy. Think about it, how would you
treat your best friend if they were going through a
rough patch. You'd probably shower them with love, encouragement, and
maybe even a giant slice of chocolate cake. Right well, honey,
it's time to extend that same level of care and
understanding to yourself. Here are five golden nuggets of wisdom
to sprinkle into your daily routine. One practice active self care. Listen.

(01:07):
Taking care of yourself isn't selfish, it's essential. This means
prioritizing things that nourish your mind, body, and soul. Think
about what brings you joy, a hot bath with bubbles,
a walk in nature, a good book, and make time
for those activities regularly. Two challenge negative self talk. That
inner voice can be sneaky, constantly whispering doubts and criticisms,

(01:29):
but you have the power to silence it. When you
catch yourself thinking negatively, gently challenge those thoughts. Ask yourself,
is this really true? What would I say to a
friend who was thinking this way? Remember your worth isn't
defined by your mistakes or shortcomings. Three embrace imperfection, where
all works in progress. Beautiful souls strive for progress, not perfection.

(01:52):
Celebrate your accomplishments big and small, and learn from your setbacks.
Remember it's okay to make mistakes. They're part of the journey.
Four practice gratitude. Focusing on what you're grateful for can
shift your perspective and bring a sense of contentment into
your life. Take a few moments each day to appreciate
the little things, a warm cup of coffee, a beautiful sunset,

(02:13):
the laughter of loved ones. Five, be kind to yourself, seriously,
this is crucial. Treat yourself with the same love, care,
and understanding that you would offer a dear friend. Remember
you're worthy of happiness and peace. Think about a time
when you were really hard on yourself. Maybe after making
a mistake or facing a setback. You probably felt overwhelmed

(02:34):
by guilt or shame. Right now, imagine approaching that situation
with self compassion. Instead of berating yourself. What if you
had offered yourself words of kindness and understanding. Hey, you
might have said to yourself, it's ok to make mistakes.
I'm learning and growing every day. You could have acknowledged
your feelings without judgment, saying I'm feeling disappointed right now,

(02:55):
but that's okay, it doesn't define me. And then, most importantly,
you would have treated yourself with the same love and
support you would offer a friend going through a tough time. See,
self compassion isn't about being perfect. It's about embracing your
imperfections with kindness and understanding. It's about recognizing that you're
doing the best you can and that's enough. Remember, beautiful souls,

(03:18):
self love is a journey, not a destination. There will
be ups and downs, but keep practicing those self compassion skills. So,
my amazing listeners, I challenge you to make a small
act of kindness towards yourself today. Maybe it's taking a
relaxing bath, reading a good book, or simply acknowledging your
strengths and celebrating your wins. You deserve it, and remember

(03:39):
we're in this together. Keep shining bright and don't forget
to subscribe for more daily doses of self love Goodness.
