Speaker 1 (00:00):
Coach.
Speaker 2 (00:00):
Was reported that Quo Mix was picking out your own quarterback.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
It wasn't reported.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
I stated it three days ago. Gosh, your own little
internet shows are driving me crazy. Listen, bow Knicks. If
you were here two days ago, you would have heard
me say he spent some time with Breeze. So it
was reported, keep going, No, just what just what I
said three days ago.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
But we heard obviously the you know you spent a
few days Soft's and that with Drew and to diego.
What did that kind of look like?
Speaker 4 (00:31):
You know, what was the idea there to go spend
some time and what did you talk through your development?
Speaker 5 (00:36):
Yeah, it was fun anytime you can spend some time
with a guy like that, with that experience and just
that mind and the knowledge of the game and just
his routine and what he was able to do and
more more than anything, he's just sitting down and talking
to him. And you know a lot of guys are
like that. You know, Peyton and Eli are the same way.
It's just anytime you can, you know, pick those guys
(01:00):
brains and just kind of standing their shoes and see
what they went through and just if you can pick
up on any one thing that's you know, it's a
win in the conversation.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Nelly, let me tell you something right now, I'm so
tired of your little internet show. I'm so tired of it.
I mean, everybody has their own little Internet stuff and
it just it's brutal, absolutely brutal. I can't even describe
to you guys.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Gosh, your own little internet shows are driving me crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
When I heard that, the howl that came out of
my mouth laughing, cause it's just like, Yep, we're right
back in the thicket things, aren't we. And look, part
of me doesn't blame him because he's absolutely right. It's like,
this wasn't a report. I said this a couple days ago.
I know exactly where the guy's coming from. But all
I'm telling you is the way he responds to things
(01:58):
like that I think are so hilarious. And when the
team's good, it certainly helps too. And that's sort of
the theme here, is that the team looks good. You know,
there's oh, there's a spider on the hang on hand.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
It wasn't reported, I stated it.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
I just reported there's a bug on the table. Yeah,
go after Jesse, leave me alone, don't flick it. Towards me, Jesse, Gosh,
your little Internet shows drive me nuts where you flick
bugs at people and the way.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
I have some intel that that little giggle at the
very end of the cut is our own DMAC.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
This part right here, just what I said three days ago.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Yeah, of course d ma's been on the wrong side
of some of those from Sean Payton too, So I mean,
I'm sure he gets he's he's delighted at the idea
that somebody else catches the wrath. But the theme of
this whole thing is like, when he does this in
the team isn't winning, that's when you start to look
(03:00):
at it a little differently. But when the team's good,
it's fine. You know, it's the same way. Like Michael
Malone had a little bit of that brashness to him.
But what were you gonna say when he says something like, uh,
take the l on the way out, or he says
put that in your pipe and smoke it, or you know,
some of the stuff that he did during the championship
(03:20):
run when they were playing against the Lakers, and he's like,
why is all them why is all the info?
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Or all of the the talking heads about the Lakers
and not about Nikola Jokis this great game, like all
of that stems from this. There's there's a confidence bordering
on arrogance about him, and Sean Payton possesses the same thing.
And again, for me, this is coming from someplace real.
The team is good. You know, if there's any sort
(03:50):
of bad news that you've gotten from the first couple
of days of this, it's that a guy that I
had high helps for I know that they did too,
and Drew Sanders seems to be dealing with another pretty
significant injury. Now the timetable on the timetable on Drew
(04:11):
Sanders and how much time he's gonna miss, I don't know,
Like I don't know how long it's going to be.
But according to Mike Cliss, he had this saying Broncos
linebacker Drew Sanders will miss extended time with a foot
connective tissue injury. He'll undergo further evaluation to determine the
exact timeline. But inside linebacker one of the deepest positions.
(04:32):
With green Law, Singleton'sternad and Bailey, I don't know if
I agree it's one of the deepest positions. I mean,
there's people but I don't know if there's people you'd
feel comfortable with. And the whole thing surrounding Drew Sanders.
I think that they were hoping that he could push
Singleton for a starting spot. They really like him. He's
(04:54):
incredibly athletic. He can do a little bit of like
multiple different things, which is he can rush the quarterback,
he can play just your a little bit of pass
coverage because he's athletic enough to do it. So that's
a big loss. But outside of that, it's been nothing.
But this stuff is good. I mean, think about it.
(05:14):
You always kind of get that out of camp in
these first couple of days because what you're gonna see is,
you know, everybody's back, happy to be around football again.
They look at the team and they're trying to find
some diamonds in the rough and all that different stuff.
But me and Burdo, we're talking about this on Friday.
What's really really odd about this offseason more than any other.
(05:37):
It's almost like, what are we talking about? I Mean,
there's not a lot of battles for positions. There's not
a lot of questions surrounding major foundational pieces of the team.
Like that stuff's kind of set you look at the defense,
it's like, is there really a question about the defense.
I thought that maybe Sanders and Singleton could be one
(05:59):
of the position battles, you know, maybe kind of how
much and where is Jude Barron going to play? And
does that eat away McMillan's playing time? You know. Another
one could be on offense. Is there any receiver that's
gonna step up and start to command more reps somewhere?
(06:21):
But I mean, look, this team is built to compete
and win, and that's just the bottom line. Health is
going to be a major factor. It's something I've been
nervous about all offseason is that you've been incredibly fortunate
that you haven't suffered a whole bunch of major injuries
to keep players. And look, that's you leave that up
(06:41):
to the gods. I mean, there's no way to prevent
stuff like that. And it sucks that Drew Sanders has
already come now with an injury. But this team is
they're built. You know. I hear the way that some
of these guys talk about this team, and it's like,
I think, really exciting to listen to him when you
talk about some of the new guys here, when you
(07:01):
talk about Evan Ingram. You know, when Evan Ingram was
talking about when he was in Jacksonville, he was always
the first one in the building was this place is hard.
The culture is just really good. Brandon Jones. I mean,
sort of what a theme is of training camp so far.
East guy's talking trash about their old places. Brandon Jones,
(07:23):
who I'm sure will be out here barefoot shuffling here soon.
He's talking about he's always wanted to play with a
quarterback who's got that dog in him, and that's Bo Nicks.
And I'm like, well, you were just in Miami for
four years, so I guess two is not that guy.
That's the translation. So it's it's a compliment to the
(07:48):
highest order for what I can pay towards Sean Payton.
This place was a mess when he took over. I mean,
it just was they didn't have direction from the top,
They didn't have leadership in the ownership group at that time,
they didn't have leadership within the locker room. The culture
(08:09):
that he took over was a losing culture because that's
what they did for eight or nine straight years. You know,
it wasn't all the guys in the locker room's fault.
Like you think about it now, Garrett Bowles was part
of the turnaround as much as he was part of
the losing. You know, justin Simmons, I don't think anybody
would argue was a bad football player, but he was
there for the losing. There was something within that culture
(08:31):
room or that that locker room culture wise, that had
some stink to it, and I don't know, you know,
it's one of the biggest things. Whenever you hear an
introductory press conference from a brand new head coach, the
first thing they're gonna tell you because most cases they're
taking over for a team that's doing poorly. You know.
Every once in a while you get the coach that
(08:51):
retires on top or something like that and an assistant
takes over. But most of the time it's about team
is bad, how do we fix it? And in the
case of Sean Payton, it was bad. And so you
hear every introductory press conference from like every head coach ever,
is we need to establish a new culture. And I
(09:12):
just every time I roll my eyes, I'm like, okay, fine,
and this is what everybody says, but how would how
do you actually do it? Yeah? I embrace the city.
We're gonna make our football team the identity of the city,
and we're gonna work hard. And everybody says the same thing.
(09:32):
But the point is, Sean Peyton did it like and
I can't describe how hard this is. Think about when
he took over. Did you have an expectation every week
that the Broncos are gonna win football games? Were they
even near the possibility of competing with Mahomes and the
Chiefs for a division? They weren't. And now you look
(09:54):
at what they have and Sean Payton has built this
team into one that thinks they're going to win against
anyone and it's a positive sort of outlook and they
believe they're gonna win. It's one of the things like
when they got late in games last year, they didn't crumble.
(10:16):
That's the sign of a confidence football team, you know.
It's one of the reasons why the the Nuggets have
been so good over the last few years, with the
exception of last year where at times this didn't happen
when but when they won their championship and they were
competing sort of in the middle in the thick of
that and hopefully getting back to it. Now their whole
(10:37):
thing was if this thing is close late, you're gonna lose.
The only way you're going to beat is is if
you have a sizeable lead that is almost insurmountable. And
even at times with those the Nuggets would come back
and win. Like I feel like the Broncos are starting
to have some of that, and it was just it
was too much to do within the span of a
(10:59):
year with a rookie QB. But my goodness, am I
excited to see what happens here moving forward. You know again,
there's some quotes from around the league that I want
to get to as well when it comes to another
team in your division and a quote from their head
(11:19):
coach that I think directly applies to your team. So
I want to get there in a couple of minutes.
I also want to talk about Yo kic sobbing after
his horse won a race. Now, I don't know anything
about what they call it harness racing. Is that what
he does? I don't know anything about this stuff. I
don't know if this is like the Kentucky Derby of
(11:40):
Heart harness racing and that's what he won. I also
found I would say second most funny this weekend As
I was scrolling through Twitter, Number one was still Sean
Payton saying, I reported it. Your internet shows are driving
me crazy. Second most fun is the comparisons that people
(12:02):
made to Jokic and his horse winning that race as
a grown seven foot three hundred pound man breaks down
in tears, and they put it side by side with
right after he won the championship, and he goes, the
job is done. We can go home now, like it's
really funny. And if it was anybody other than Joker,
(12:25):
to be totally honest, it would probably piss me off.
But I don't care because I know the guy works
hard and he always cares about winning. But do you
think part of that See, I got a theory towards this. Yeah,
I'm gonna save it. I got a theory towards this
as to why Jokic feels the way he does about
his horse winning as opposed to win he wins a
(12:47):
championship because it is It's a big contrast. I also
watched Happy Gilmore too, and I'm gonna do this without
spoilers if one of you guys want to watch it,
but when I tell you it's downright awful, I mean,
(13:09):
if you watched the previews. It's exactly what you expect.
And maybe some people like the idea of throwing every
famous person into a movie for five seconds just to
have it. But we can talk about that. And especially
because the Rockies got happy Gilmourd on Saturday. When I
(13:31):
say literally they got happy Gilmourd, I'm not saying they
lost eighteen to nothing with two hits on Friday or
on Saturday. I'm saying it was seventeen to nothing in
the bottom of the eighth and an Orioles player shuffled
his feet as if he was happy Gilmore and dropped
a bomb to dead center field, which I think is
the most embarrassing thing that can happen to you on
a baseball field. He might as well did it Michael
(13:54):
Jackson dance when he and then ripped one four hundred
and thirty feet. So a lot to get to today,
along with my Italian brothers, are gonna be back in
forty five minutes, and you guys are gonna have to
help me because they're gonna be talking about Italy for
I think two of the three hours that they're on
the show today, and I'm gonna want to throw everything
(14:14):
on this football field. If they bring out those tackling
dummies early, I might just sprint off this set and
go hit something. So that's gonna happen later. But I
want to get to Jokic and why I think he
reacted the way he did after his horse won. And
I also want to talk about a quote from another
coach in the AFC West who he made a quote
(14:38):
that I think directly applies to the Broncos, And we'll
get to it next. You know, I'm gonna use Yeah, Yeah,
I'm gonna Next time I see d Mac, I'm gonna
tell him I'm tired of his little internet shows that
he does all the time. Who he's doing your internet shows,
your silly little internet show. Uh. We are out here
(14:59):
at Bronco's training camp, our second day broadcasting out here,
and again it's one of those things like I cannot wait,
cannot wait for this thing to really take off, Jesse
when they leave, is it next Wednesday? They leave for
San Francisco to do a couple of joint practices and
then get ready for that first preseason game.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Gosh, your own little internet shows are driving me crazy.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
I know, I know, I know. It's not my fault.
It's not my fault. I don't do an internet show.
I have a show, but it's on the Internet. It's
different from an Internet show. Would you agree if I'm
doing a radio show that is also simulcast on the Internet,
that is not me doing an internet show. Doing a
(15:44):
radio show that happens to be on the internet.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Your own little internet shows are driving me crazy.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
Training camp coverage on Altitude Sports Radio is powered by
Ramos Law, the official injury law firm partner of Broncos Country.
So here's a couple things I wanted to get to.
One of them is a quote from none other than
Jim Harbaugh. But I think you can make this directly
apply over towards what's happening here. And here's what happened.
(16:16):
Me and Berto were discussing this on Friday, and it
was do the Broncos have the requisite weapons offensively to
be as effective as you want to be? And this
was a question that was surrounding wide receivers, running backs,
tight ends and just putting that to a ball, Is
(16:38):
that as good as Kansas City? Is that as good
as the Chargers? And they go case, he's probably a
little bit better, although they're not like crazy better. They
have Kelsey and Rashid Rice when he's not suspended in
jail somewhere. But they're probably better. I don't know if
the Chargers are. And so the Chargers are kind of
(16:59):
facing the same question. And what they did over the
weekend was they signed their left tackle Rashawn Slater to
a four year, one hundred and fourteen million dollar extension
that includes a record ninety two million guaranteed. Why is
this a big deal? Well, here's the quote from Jim Harbaugh.
He said, I know the question is gonna come up
(17:21):
about weapons. We look at offensive linemen as weapons. Guess what,
so does Sean Payton. It's the first thing he did here.
Go back to year one of Sean Payton and think
about that offseason. They went into free agency, they had
Garrett Bowles, they drafted Quinn minors, and then they said
(17:41):
we're gonna spend a brinch truck full of money for
Mike mcglinchy and Ben Powers and they really got that
sort of dialed in. And why very easily. It's because
if you don't have an offensive line, you can't pass
for p or run the football, So it doesn't matter
(18:02):
who your weapons are. You can have Justin Jefferson and
Jamar Chase outside, but if you have two seconds to throw,
it's not gonna matter. They invested in the offensive line.
They then went out and now this offseason found what
we hope fingers Crossed is going to be a decent
(18:23):
running game behind our J Harvey and JK. Dobbins. So
with all of that, he thinks about it the same way.
You know, what's a really good weapon. I think he's
actually been quoted as saying this is defense. Offensive Line
and defense are two of the best friends that a
quarterback can have because as long as you have time
and you don't need to put up thirty points a
(18:44):
game in order to win, you're gonna have a really
good shot to keep things steady on offense, and if
you make a mistake, it's not gonna kill you. And
that is a huge benefit, huge to what the Broncos
are trying to accomplish and what bo Nix is trying
to accomplish in your two I'll tell you this right now,
bow Knicks does not strike me as a man that
(19:04):
is lacking confidence right now. You know, he kind of
steps up to the podium with that bravado and a
borderline arrogance that he's like, yeah, I'm the man here,
this is my team. And it's not that they haven't
had that before. There's been a couple of qbs that
have carried themselves that way. You know, certainly Russell Wilson
(19:25):
did in a different kind of way. Russell Wilson was
never worried about being in a quarterback battle, but the
way he went about it was different. You know, I
still go back to that Marvin Mims quote that he
gave us, you know, a couple of months ago where
he said he didn't have a funny story about bo Nix,
that bow Knicks was all business. And you can tell
(19:46):
him the way he carries himself at the press conference,
that guy is all about football all the time. That's
just all he's gonna do. He's gonna do some football
and then he's gonna get done with football and he's
gonna do more football. Now you ever seen it's almost
like a character from a movie. What's the kid's name?
If you guys have ever seen the movie Little Giants,
(20:06):
which if you haven't figured out, but Little Giants there
was was his name? Spike? Yeah, it was Spike don't
play with girls because he was talking about icebox. That's
how I imagine bon Nicks is. Bon Nicks is just he's
what do you like football? What do you do when
you don't play football? I play football? What are you doing?
You're not playing football? I watch football? Like he's just
(20:29):
a robot? Is it Sanford Nelly that calls him? Is
it a bobot?
Speaker 4 (20:35):
That's either I think that's either Sandford or Dmac But yeah,
the bobot because he is a football robot. Yes, he
just he processes football with the CPU. That's what he does.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
It's a perfect description. It's just an emotionless, all football approach.
And I think it really helps him and I think
it cuts out some of the nonsense that can come
with that position. And if you don't believe me, well
we had Russell Wilson here for two years. You tell
me if there was a little bit of distraction there.
If you don't believe me, still go ask anybody who's
(21:08):
been in the realm of Aaron Rodgers the last couple
of years. They'd tell you a different story. Like when
you become it, like it or not. I mean, maybe
we're in a kind of a weird place now in
Denver where it's it's a rarity, but usually the quarterback
of the Broncos is the most famous person in this
(21:29):
entire town. You can name the court. You will find
more people that can name the quarterback of the Broncos
than you can the person who's If you ask him
who's the governor, who's the mayor of Denver, they would
know bow Nicks immediately more than they would anything else.
It's a little weird now with Jokic and the Avs
being good and mckenn and mccarr guys like that, But
(21:51):
still bo Nicks is right up there, and so you
have to carry yourself a certain type of way. And
bo Nicks does you know? Speaking of Jokic, I do
want to talk about how he's He's a seven foot,
three hundred pound man sobbing at a horse winning and
I think I know a little bit as to why.
(22:13):
So here's my guess, and people are going to make
the thing he cares about this more than he does basketball,
and maybe he does. I have no idea. It's not
the point, because he's still effective. The point to me
is when you're somebody like him and you are so
good at one thing. I don't think Jokic was surprised
(22:36):
when they won the championship, you know what I mean.
When you're that good, it's not like, oh my god,
I did it, at least for a lot of guys
of his. If you're in that type of echelon as
an athlete, it shouldn't be You can be excited, Yeah,
you can be excited, you can feel this sense of accomplishment,
(22:59):
but it's not a surprise. When he watches his horse race,
he's not in control of anything. He is purely a spectator,
and so then he reacts the same way we do
when the Nuggets win a championship. When you don't have
direct involvement in something, and look, some people are like this,
(23:21):
I'm kind of like this, Like I gotta be the driver.
I don't like being in the passenger seat of things.
I like having control, a little bit of a control
freaqu when it comes to some things anyway, And I
think Jokic just kind of like that. And I bet
you his nerves are at its highest when he's watching
his horse races because he can't control the outcome, and
(23:42):
I think that's why he reacts the way he does.
And I also will say this, I think it's such
an underrated quality that he has perspective in this way,
I would be a nightmare to deal with. If I
had Yokic's basketball ability, I'm telling you, I would be
(24:05):
one of these dudes that I think the power would
get to my head. I would be I'm just gonna
say you, no, I'm not going to there's a Diddy
party joke in there that I'm not going to make.
But all I'm telling you is I would have an
insane amount of power. Okay, Jokic has perspective. I still
(24:35):
remember when they won and I weaseled my way into
the locker room and I was in there for an
hour and a half before Yokichi even got there. Why
because he was hanging out with his kid. I got
a kid. I didn't play in the game. I didn't
do that. But for someone like where he's able to
turn his brain off of basketball for a few minutes,
(24:58):
I think it is it is such a unique thing
for somebody of his ability to have. And I'll tell
you what's really crazy, don't I don't know what to
think of this. So if you guys saw the picture
from over the weekend, there was one that was surrounding
(25:20):
Yokich's agent being on a yacht with Lebron, James and
Chris Paul, or not Chris Paul, Rich Paul his best
friend and his agent, and Jokic's agent says the summer
of twenty twenty five is the perfect time to make
big plans for the fall of twenty twenty six. And
(25:40):
I'm trying to figure out what that means. Why is
Jokic's agent on a yacht with Lebron and his buddy?
And I'll tell you right now, I don't like what
(26:01):
is Lebron now? Is he? Is he gonna be forty
two this year? Like, I don't know how much longer
this stuff can go with him. Maybe he really is
just the biggest Okay, He's gonna be forty one this December.
Maybe he is just like the biggest athletic freak that's
ever existed, where time just doesn't affect that guy. Man,
it's basketball. But dude, the idea that Lebron would I
(26:31):
know what the Lakers fans are thinking, because now it's
just fueling the fire of him thinking that Jokic is
gonna leave and go to LA which if you know
anything about that man, he would have no interest of
being there none. That's why I'm not concerned, and I
don't think anybody here is concerned. As we know, Jokic
is not Hollywood. Yokic is a cabin in the woods
(26:53):
and leave me the hell alone guy. Okay, he doesn't
want to be bothered when he's trying to get something
to eat. I'll never forget when I saw him at
Cherry Creek Reservoir just hanging out. I go there. Look,
I like taking my dog to the lake as much
as anybody else. That's not where rich people hang. Okay,
(27:17):
I've never gone there and be like, hmm, I wonder
if I'm going to see the Penners here. Not once,
but jokichas there was another texture, sent us a picture.
There's this place in Aurora called Lava Island. That's just
it's a giant jumphouse with a whole bunch of kids.
(27:38):
The playground sort of sets, it's indoor, and Yoki is
there by himself holding his daughter's hand, waiting in line. Again,
you will never never see that happen. Like, that's that's
where he is at as a human being. That we
(27:59):
that I just don't think that anybody else in his
position has that type of uh, I guess normalcy to
their life. Think about this, He's a guy who makes
sixty million dollars a year. Again, that's not what sixty
million dollars a year people do. So anyway, I don't
(28:20):
know what the picture is about. It is a little
bit weird, but I'll tell you the most embarrassing thing
that I've seen in a long time. So, the Rockies
had one of those games over the weekend again where
it just it got away from it's seventeen to nothing.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Rockies have two hits.
(28:41):
It's bad, and they're playing Baltimore. And in the bottom
of the eighth you're just begging to get the hell
out of there. You're done. You're like, the game's over.
It's been over for like five innings. I don't care,
let's leave. Well, the Rockies did that old thing where
(29:03):
they're like, I'm not gonna waste another arm. So they
bring in Kyle Farmer to go close out the last
inning and he's throwing those little moon ball pitches that
are going fifty miles an hour and homeboy on on Baltimore.
What's his name, Jackson? Is it Austin Jackson? Alex Jackson?
(29:30):
He goes full happy Gilmore with the swing. If you
guys don't know what I'm talking about, go back and
watch the replay. So it's like a slow pitch softball
throw from Kyle Farmer. This guy takes a show. Do
you see what I'm talking about, Jesse. He takes a
full happy Gilmore shuffle into the ball and rips a
home run to dead centerfield. And I'm gonna tell you
(29:53):
it's the most disrespectful thing I've ever seen in a
baseball game. Hidden ball tricks and all this different stuff
like pales in comparison.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
Brett to his Outreill playing ball against the Rocks. It
with some Savannah bananas crap right there.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
I remember we played against a team that was way
better than us when I was in high school. It
was an Enid, Oklahoma, and the kids stepped out of
the box, turned to his own dugout and goes, gonna
be a great day to day boys, after watching our
pitcher warm up, and he was basically just saying, we
are going to beat this team by thirty runs. And
they did. And that is less disrespectful then taking a
(30:33):
full happy Gilmour shuffle into a baseball and throwing it
out four hundred and thirty feet to dead center field,
like Jesse, you're looking at it right now, insanely disrespectful,
how dare you? But also probably deserved when you're when
you're down eighteen and not there are seventeen and nothing.
I mean, I guess there are no rules anymore, you know.
(30:55):
It's I always said this, I love this about hockey. Hockey.
You could be up ten to nothing and if you
fall asleep for a second, you're gonna be down eleven
to nothing because nobody cares. We're out here trying to
rack up some stats. Now, it's exactly what this Jackson
kid did on a pinch hit. By the way, So AnyWho,
(31:15):
there is something that's a little weird going on today.
Deon Sanders is gonna have a press conference and it's
an update on the medical stuff. And I was one
of the guys that when he was missing camp for
medical things, I think that there needs to be you know.
And he dismissed the questions at Big ten or Big
twelve media days surrounding his health, and I said, hey,
(31:39):
if you're the highest paid state employee in the history
of Colorado. I think that you at least maybe you
don't you don't need to go into full detail on things,
but you gotta be like, here's just a little update
and I might miss time. But he didn't do any
of that. Well, I guess that was that's what today
is for. And there's a there's a video that emerged
(31:59):
over the weekend. Then at least, I mean it gives
you some concerns and we'll get to it in a
couple of minutes. Stick around alright out here again at
Broncos camp and training Camp. Coverage and Altitude Sports Radio
is powered by Rama's Law, the official entry law firm
partner of Broncos Country. So Vic and Moje will be back,
I assume in about fifteen minutes. I just realized something, Jesse.
(32:23):
They're going to be an absolute drag today. I mean,
they're gonna be deal. I think they got back yesterday,
which means they're gonna be hitting that like time change thing.
They're going to be absolute luggage. I mean, not to
be Garfield about it, like Mondays, but it's Mondays. On
top of having two potato sacks, sitting here, Moser's going
(32:45):
to look like he got beat in the face with
ten pounds of meat all night. What do I do
with that? But there is going to be a press
conference today, an update on Dion's health, and I hope
this is just like one of those whatever updates, which
is yep, I'm still dealing with the same stuff and
(33:06):
that's it. But I guess there's a chance it could
be a little bit different, especially coming off of a
video I watched over the weekend where he's got the
camera crew that always follows him around, so it's, you know,
just past six o'clock in the morning at seu's facilities
and he's getting some some health stuff taken care of.
And he said this.
Speaker 6 (33:26):
Mentally emotionally last night was still yes next time, because.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
I had to make a wheel listen.
Speaker 6 (33:47):
It's not.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
Easy and to think that you may not be.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
So look, when people get older, it's always even if
you aren't, it's always nice to have a will just
in case. So it's not like that is an indicator
of anything necessarily, But Dion's obviously had a lot of
things that he's had to deal with health wise, and
(34:22):
what's really difficult is This is always going to be
some sort of like lingering question surrounding him is health stuff,
and it sucks, but it's part of kind of what
he and many people have to deal with. The thing
about See You, though, in him, is that if if
(34:45):
there comes a time where he has to call it quits,
I find it really hard to have See You continuing
this type of trajectory, right, I don't. I think they'd
have to fundamentally change the way that they've branded their team.
(35:06):
You know, again, if you go to anywhere that sells
college gear and See You gear, my guess is it's
probably going to be fifty to fifty Prime Gear and
then Buffs Gear because they're one and the same, but
they also are kind of separate.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
We're ready for prime time.
Speaker 3 (35:24):
What do you say there is there's a huge national
following surrounding SeeU exis that exists purely because of Prime.
I mean, that's just it. And when that day comes
that he is no longer the coach here, there is
going to have to be I think a pretty radical shift.
You know, there's been times before, you know, when Gary
(35:47):
Kubiak takes over or you know, we've seen a passing
of the baton of sorts from a head coach giving
it to the assistant when the head coach has to retire.
That it's it's almost easier to do it that way,
especially when you're successful, because you can just kind of
come in and do the same things that he did.
(36:08):
Nobody can be him, nobody can be Dean. And so again,
hopefully this press conference, I don't know what time it's
going to be by the it's going to be at
eleven am today. Hopefully this is just a regular update
that he is kind of given in the past before
and then like, yep, I'm dealing with this stuff. I'll
be okay, I'll be ready for week one, that sort
of thing. But there is there's even without health stuff,
(36:34):
there's a there feels like a finite amount of time
that Prime is going to be here. You know, even
if you are of the most optimistic minds that Dion's
going to be here for years, I don't think you're
thinking fifteen. I don't think you're thinking a decade. Now.
(36:54):
I had questions on when his kids left, is he
even going to be here? And obviously he is, and
he has given you every indication that he goes. I
love Boulder. I love Colorado. I don't want to be
anywhere else, and I think it's fair to take people
out the word when they say something like that. But
there's just something about his personality that makes sure your
mind's sort of wonder and now you throw the hell
(37:14):
stuff on top of it. It is a little bit freaking
it is. So we'll get an update on that at
eleven o'clock today. So if you guys missed the update,
I saw this from DNVR that our nemesis from another
(37:35):
country Panathonikos.
Speaker 6 (37:38):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Again. I have tried to stay out out of this fight.
I like Greece. I would like to visit at some point,
but they have shifted their retention. It seems like after
all of the indicators being that Jonas Valanciunas is going
to be here, take that l on the way out,
they have decided to target another former Nuggets center, and
that is Thomas Bryant is now when they're so they
(38:01):
have shifted from one to another, and that makes me
happy because if they're doing that, then that feels like
this is absolutely dead dead in the way that they
are pursuing the Yonas Valanciunas stuff like again, if you
guys heard our chat with John Wallace or PhD's chat
(38:22):
with Ben Tanzer, there is no question in their mind
that he is going to be here. But it's still
again you start to wonder stuff like this, how much
time has passed by, And the fact that they're targeting
others is a good sign, because you know what, the
Nuggets never did targeted another option at center. They have
(38:43):
stayed steadfast and Yonas Valanciunas is the guy, So that's
always to me. You give a little bit of that information.
It once again is another thing that just sort of
eases the flames, calms down the fire a little bit
surrounding that place. I just came across this, by the way,
(39:04):
so Foeba EuroBasket has a tweet that has the Serbian
roster and it says best team in Europe. Question mark
Serbia coming out with a juggernaut of a roster from
EuroBasket twenty twenty five. And I'm trying to figure this out.
There are three different names on this list. So this
is a team of seventeen guys. So the top seventeen
(39:27):
players from Serbia, I'm gonna give you three of the names.
There is Nicola Jokic. There is Nicola Yovich, and there
is Nicola topic bogn Bogdan big Don Bagdon. That's really
what it feels like. And so my curiosity is do
(39:50):
they think that way about American names? Is there American
names that they're like? Why is everything so similar in
the same like? Is there a roster in Like? Think
about this. If the US had Dan Smith, Josh Smith
and Dave Smith, are they probably like, what's what the Smiths?
(40:12):
Cause we're always talking about the itches And look at
Italian boys have showed up. Look at them. Look at
you guys, all bronzed and ready to go. Don't look sleepy.
Give you credit for that, you guys, don't look sleepy.
Uh So, my Italian brethren will be on in just
(40:34):
a couple of minutes. Again, we're out here at Bronco
to training camp. No nobody told me they're sitting next
to me, So I'm assuming they're going to do the
show today. Training camp coverage on Out the Dude Sports
Radio is powered by Ramas Law, the official injury law
firm partner of Broncos Country Overnet shows are driving me
crazy when you're talking to me and I have a
headset on and you don't I can't hear anything that
(40:55):
you're saying, but it's like you never left. You walked
in at the very end of the six o'clock hour
and you just talk when I'm supposed to be talking.
It's good to see it, good to see you. So
we will get to them in just a couple of
minutes as again, a lot of things to break down
from the weekend training camp wise, injuries and to Drew
(41:16):
Sanders anyway, and some quotes from some of the guys
from over the weekend that we get to in just
a couple of minutes, along with I do think it's weird.
You know, there is a there's a theory, by the way,
surrounding the the Lebron meeting with Nikola Jokic's agent thing
and Jeff Howe, one of the guys here at Altitude
(41:39):
said Joker's agent wants to make a super League in Europe,
so we could be talking to rich investors in order
to do that, which is totally fine. So that's one theory. Again,
maybe we'll have a better one because these guys were overseas,
they were closer to the action than we were on
the ground. Boots on the ground reporting and there we go,
(42:02):
Nelly mark it down. Brandon Jones once again is doing
his beerfoot shuffles at six fifty this morning. Good good,
a tradition unlike any other. Can watch your live on twitch,
