Speaker 1 (00:16):
We are all right, as opposed to not being alive,
you know what I'm saying, I don't know. No, we're live.
We're definitely, we're live.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Yeah, we're absolutely everybody and this is the best experience.
IEK you guys for tuning in and for those who
are tuned into Patreon, we appreciate it. Thank you guys
very much. But let's start off strong because we got
a couple of fan questions and you know Nick's gonna
answer them.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Okay, Yeah, So the first one is is, uh, he
has a question you'd like to ask? I have them
making plans, but when it comes to execution, I sometimes
struggle to complete them. Occasionally unexpected matters disrupt my rhythm,
and at the other times I'm either too tired or
not productive enough to even finish everything. Well, yeah, it's
(01:07):
kind of one of those things you have to. You
make your plans, you try to execute your plans as
much as possible. There's always things are gonna disrupt everything
that you do in life. I mean, everything's going to
be that way at some point, some way, some shape
or form. You stick to the plan as much as
you absolutely can, and then you adapt to things otherwise
(01:31):
So if you're that exhausted to where you can't finish,
it's better to just rest one day, that's it, and
then start your rhythm back the next day. Put just
slide everything over one day and then that's begins your
new routine and that's where you start. So if you're
used to starting on a Monday, then you'd start on
(01:52):
a Tuesday, and then you just go through the keep
going back through the routine and try not to be
set off track again. But you're gonna do it. It's gonna happen.
Life happens. It happened to me all the time, and
I would that's exactly what I do. I'd still get
(02:13):
my workout for the weekend. Remember you're not going to
atrophy till day number eight or till day number ten.
So if you miss one day and it just offsets
a day, you're not really gonna lose anything. That being said,
if you're just a little tired, you have to come
and evaluate yourself on how tired you are. If you're exhausted,
(02:35):
not a good idea. But if you're just kind of
a little tired, you know, get a cup of coffee,
drink a little pre workout, go get it done. So
there's a difference. Hold yourself accountable. But also it doesn't
do you any good to push when you're completely exhausted,
because that's when injury comes in. Doesn't do any good though,
(02:57):
if you're kind of tired, but don't If you like
doing it but you still got it in there, you
got to decide whether it's there and you're just being
lazy or it's just flat out exhaustion. If you look
and go, well, i just worked like twelve thirteen hours
straight and I've been slammed. Yeah, probably not a good idea.
(03:18):
Take that day off and then just come back and
start everything from where it is the next day. Now,
if you worked eight hours and you're just you're not
overly tired, you're just kind of like eh, from being
at work and your mindset's not right, take thirty minutes, meditate,
Go have a cup of coffee, and go get your
(03:39):
work done, plain and simple. Get your mindset right, Get
in a quiet room, set your mind right, Go get
some like a little bit of coffee or a little
bit of pre workout, not too much, just a little bit,
and then go get your workout done. It's that simple.
But the only person that's going to hold you accountable
is you, and if you're having trouble holding yourself accountable,
(04:00):
that's the one thing you have to do. I can't
do it for you. Ben can't do it for you.
Nobody can do it for you. It's something you have
to do and examine your goals and what you want
to do and is it acceptable enough to not go
after what you were supposed to do that day? You know,
(04:21):
pretty plain, pretty simple. But evaluate where you're at and
if it's been a killer long day at work, yeah,
go ahead, take one extra rest day. One extra rest
day is not going to be the end of the world.
Forty extra rest days is going to be a problem.
So that's where you that's where you got to draw
the line. So pretty basic. Just evaluate whether you're truly
(04:46):
exhausted or whether you're just being a little bit lazy
and you just don't feel like doing it. If you're
being a little bit lazy and just don't feel like
doing it, clear your mind, drink some caffeine and go
do it. If you're truly exhausted, take the extra day rest.
It's not going to hurt you. Then the next day
start back into your cycle. Training cycle and get going. Okay,
(05:09):
it's just that simple.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Exactly for those who are listening the words of Nick Best.
And we got a last minute question in right before. Yes,
yea too, so we're on a roll. It's two okay.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
So yesterday the guy was in the baseball game or
a person was at the baseball game, and they were
truly plused with the skills hat with the skills of
the players. Even it was such a noisy, uh distracting environment,
they were still able to perform. So well, does this
mean it requires an extraordinary level of concentration to achieve
such results? Yes, you have to kind of you have
(05:49):
to have your mindset right, and you have to kind
of like block everything else out when you're playing baseball
once you walk onto the field to really a professional
baseball player, the only thing that's on that field is
the baseball field. That's it. Fans in the stands or
whatever they're they're blocking it all out. They're trained to
block it out from a very early age and you
(06:11):
just get used to doing that. So you have to
go out there and just be like, look, this is
where my focus is. It's on this game. It's on
the pitcher it's it's on the players, it's on the catcher,
you know whatever. And when you pitches the baseball, you
focus on the baseball. You swing at the baseball. You
can't listen to the noise, you can't listen to what
(06:32):
everybody's saying. You can't focus on anything but the guy
pitching the baseball. And if you're the pitcher, you can't
listen to the fans, you can't listen to anything. You
just have to clear the zone and just throw the
ball to the mitt. Catcher gives you a signal where
he wants the ball to go, and then you throw
(06:52):
the ball at that spot. It's literally that's all you do.
That's all you focus on. So it just requires a
lot of concentration and the ability to just set everything
else around you to the side. It's like that when
you perform on TV or anything else. You can either
go oh god, I'm on TV and get like real
nervous and stuff like that, or you just be like, Okay,
(07:13):
well I'm on TV and nobody else is doing this,
so they can come up here and try it all
they want. I have the opportunity. I'm gonna come up
here and do the absolute best I can and not
worry about the camera or anything else. I'm just gonna
go get what I need to do done. And then
you go get it done. And then they come ask
you some questions, and you just act like it's me
(07:34):
talking to Ben, or me talking to you, or me
talking to anybody else. It's just a one on one
conversation that you're having, except if there's a television camera there,
and that's all you act like. You just make like
it's another person or your kid and you're sitting there
trying to talk to your child's That's kind of how
I did it. I just acted like I was trying
to talk to one of my kids when they come
(07:56):
up with the camera. Just that simple and not afraid
of talking to one of my kids. So it makes
it pretty easy. And that's kind of the trick I
used to be able to talk in front of like
a television camera and stuff like that, going oh my god,
this is going to four hundred and forty million people
or something like that. You don't worry about that. You
just talk to it like it's like it's one of
(08:17):
your kids and you'll be just fine, or it's your
best friend, or it's your mom or it's your dad.
You just go talk to it like it's a person
that you want to talk to you but you don't
want to use foul language to, and you you go
talk to them. It's just that, it's literally that's what.
Those are the techniques I use to be able to
do that.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Oh yeah, And you know one of the things even
with those techniques I've heard you say multiple times is like,
there's nothing but me and the event. Yep, and then
I can celebrate after to say, you're laser focused. I
understand what there is of just me and this and
that's all I need to concentrate on. And I've heard
you say it so many times to so many other
(08:57):
athletes of life. What are you paying a hit to? Why?
Speaker 1 (09:01):
You know what I'm saying? Yeah, And then you focus
and them on that. It'll be like, look, I need
you to have a laser focus on this one thing
till it's all over. That's it. It's all you need
to do is focus on what you're doing, Put all
every every thought, all your energy, everything into this direction
moving that way, and you're going to be just fine.
And turn they go out and they perform really well
(09:23):
in that event. And you're just like, Okay, good, now
you can cut loose. Now you can celebrate or do
whatever you're going to do because you just did really
well on the event and then move on. It's it's
not simple, yep, you know.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
And like I said, we're not trying to like even
even with people listening is understanding. Nick's trying to make
it into these small, simple, digestible things that you can
actually understand because you know, there's a lot of detail
that goes into this. But that's the thing is like
all those details, all those stop processes, all though those
those actual things that you takes years a hone and craft.
(10:01):
You know what I'm saying, If we can help you
guys actually understand that and catch it.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
And do it in far shorter time than it took
me to figure out. Yeah, that's the goal. My goal
is to save you time, to save your energy. If
I can save you ten or fifteen years in either
training or you know, mindsets and stuff like that, that's
my goal is to just save you time and give
you a little bit of my experience so that you
(10:26):
can do better without having to learn a lot of
these things either the hard way or just over time.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Exactly exactly. Know, it's it's very difficult. It's very hard.
But that's the thing though, it's fun, but it also
takes practice and it takes you know, dedication, you know
what I'm saying. A lot of people need to understand that.
That's like the unspoken things. You know. Mindset is one
of those words that people kind of like, oh, you know,
but it's also it's not just mindset. You got mindset,
(10:52):
dedication and patience, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Because attitude there you go an attitude, I mean, you
have to want to do it. You have to have
a good attitude while doing it. You know, if you're
going there and you have a good attitude and you
go in there and do it, you got to just
do that much better. You really are positive brings positive,
negative attracts negative. So going with a good attitude, you
could be just fine. Exactly exactly.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Well, you know, a for the for our fans that
are sending in the questions, thank you, we appreciate it.
And for those if you guys have questions for Nick
and you want to get that answer, join the Patreon,
join the community, and you get right into the live
stream chat of asking questions, and like I said, we
picked the ones that we want to talk about, and
if yours gets picked, it gets read and guess what,
it gets answered. So, you know, to our Patreon members,
(11:39):
thank you, we appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Yeah, absolutely, thank you.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Oh yeah, and then uh, let's get into Rogue Invitational. Okay,
a Rogue Invitational has put out their events.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Yes, all right, first.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Event, the first event, uh and as I read these off,
Nick talk about the event, talk about like you know, people,
you know, there's details that most people just know. It's heavy,
but let's talk about like what it takes to actually
move it, you know. So first event wagon wheel axle deadlift.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Yeah, do you have the other specification specifics of it?
Speaker 2 (12:18):
It says three attempts to establish max weight.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
To establish maxweight. Now, that's gonna be an axle deadlift,
and that's gonna be a little higher than normal. Correct, Yes,
it's gonna be what an eighteen inchtead lift.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
I'm assuming an eighteen inch because it's the wagon wheels,
and as you typically.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
What it is, it could be fifteen to eighteen. Okay,
so it'll be somewhere in that range. It's probably eighteen,
but could be as low as fifteen. I don't have
the specifics of the event in front of me. Yeah,
so I would say that's going to take a lot.
It's going to be harder for the taller guys for
whatever reason. That's usually a really rough place for them
(12:54):
to start a deadlift at. And it's supposed to be
an axle deadlift, so the bar's not going to give,
so where you're starting hard and you're pulling on it,
the bar gives, and the shorter guys be able to
sneak their knees underneath it before they pull it off
like Novlakavod or ye Wood stuff like that, they're going
(13:15):
to have to get all the weight from the word go,
so even for the shorter guys. But that's a good height.
I liked between fifteen and eighteen inches. It was really
good for those were good areas for me. I think
the most I did was like Ony twenty five back
in the day at the Fit Expo with that type
of lift. I think Mark Felix and I both pulled
(13:37):
that that day, so it was good, and then Terry
beat us both. So. But it's a good event, especially
on an axle because the bar is not going to give.
You're not gonna get any help from the bars. It's
either you to pull it or you're not going to
pull it, which you can actually pull that fast. If
you're pulling on an axle and the bar's not going
(13:58):
to give, you can pull on hard, just dead off
right right away, because you're not gonna have to worry
about whip on the bar. It's not gonna move, it's
not gonna jump all over the place. Yeah, you're just
gonna yank and it's gonna come right off the ground.
So it's you know, that force you put into it.
You're not gonna have to build into it and then
use the bar and get the whip from the bar.
You just gotta get into it and just pull. You
(14:21):
can explode into the bar, which is what the guys
are gonna have to do to get it moving. If
you do that, they're gonna be fine. Oh yeah, so
that'll be a good that'll be a good event to do.
It's good.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
It's always a fun event to start with too, because
like I said, it's a spectacle. And also to the
you know, just from the list of people are gonna
be there, it's gonna be heavy polls for that Max.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Yeah, I would say you're probably gonna see somewhere between
like really high nine hundreds and possibly even as high
as eleven hundred, depending on the height of the bar
that they go to do that with. Oh yeah, that
should be pretty I think, Oh yeahs gonna be fun
to watch. I think the taller guys are going to
(15:04):
struggle in the shorter guys. I think Trey is going
to do really good at that. I think Evan, if
he pulls on it right, will do really will do
probably pretty darn well with that as well. Lucas Lucas
Hatton's going to do really well at that event as well. Yeah,
but in the end, I would watch out for Trey.
(15:27):
There you go on that one, I would watch out
for Trey.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Yeah, I would do the same.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
It's a good height for Trey. I think that one's
going to be and I think he's a little motivated,
so I think that'll be a good one for him.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Exactly. Well, let's go to event too, Viking press for
Max reps in sixty seconds.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Okay, do you see the weight on it?
Speaker 2 (15:49):
What it gave me is that it gave me no
way to just told me what the events are of course,
which if I had the weight, I would be giving
you to wait.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
No, no, no, I know that's kind of kind of typical
or broke for any of the strong man contests, which
I have no idea why. If you want to promote
the thing, put the weights on it. That's gonna be
a good event that you're going to see a lot
of reps with with whatever weight they pick it. Trey's
(16:20):
ungodly good at it, Lucas is going to be ungodly
good at it. Thor should be kind of interesting on that.
He should, he should do fairly well on it. But
you got a couple of really good overhead pressers. Evan's
a really good overhead presser. It's gonna just come down
(16:42):
to who has the better day between like three or
four guys. But again, that's another event. I could see
Trey doing ungodly good at and as well as Lucas
Hatton because they're both great overhead pressors. And I can
see Evan doing really good on that if he comes
in under control and focused. He's so strong and just
(17:05):
I don't I don't even think he's even at probably
three quarters of his potential. Yeah, I think he's probably
right out about that. I mean, he can be a
lot stronger if he just slows some things down and
focuses a little more, stays explosive where he needs to,
but comes in under control. Yeah, with with better form
(17:28):
on things.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
I man, he's yeah, I agree, I agree.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
But Tom Tom's a pretty decent Viking press as well,
if memory serves correct. So it's it's it's going to
be interesting. It really is.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Oh yeah, well let's go into an event for it's
a yoke escalator, so it's going to be yoke carry
into power Stairs.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Yoke is going to be pretty interesting. I see Evan
doing really really good on this event. I also see
if mental Hooper's in this.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Yeah, really fast, you know what I'm saying. He's won
quite a few of these.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
He'll be fast at both of them. Evan will be
fast at both of them. Trey will get hurt on
the Power Stairs. I think Lucas will do pretty good
on the Power Stairs, but I don't think it'll be
as fast as you know, Hooper or Evan on it.
So it's gonna be it'll be good. And then you
(18:32):
got Austin Andrade, which Austin will be a really good
overhead presser. Austin's gonna be really good at the deadlift.
Austin will be another one to look at in the deadlift.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
My brain's just like starting to turn on a little
bit today. Warm Sorry, Austin, but this could be this
could come down. This could be such an even show.
It could come down to four guys, three or four
guys on the last event. Yeah, it really can. I
(19:01):
think the power stairs will cost Trey some points, but
the and the yoke. He's not necessarily the fastest at
the yoke, but so this will be a little bit
rougher event for Trey. But I think Hooper and Evan
and even Austin will probably do pretty solemn this. There
(19:22):
you go and Tom and Tom Tom, Tom will kill
the power stairs part of it. I think Tom will
do okay at the yoke, so.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
At his height, the power stairs is definitely at his advantage.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Yeah, he'll just turn it on.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
So all right, Well, it's going to an event four
and it's circus Press Melody.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Circus Press medally. Yes, that's all it says.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
That's all it says. Say nothing more than that.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Okay, Yeah, it's gonna be you know, Austin. Lucas is
ungodly good at that so it is, So's Hooper, like,
so's Trey. There's there's like five guys that are just
going to destroy this event. So it all just comes
(20:12):
down to who who had the most details, who simulated
this the most, the quickest, the fastest, and trained to
go from event to event to event the most efficiently,
not necessarily moving the fastest to the thing, but the
most efficient to where you're ready to pick it up
off the ground, yeah, to the next event. That's going
(20:34):
to be probably the telltale sign of who wins this event,
because you have five guys, four guys that can Hooper's
ungodly good, he's ungodly fast, he's in goodly efficient. Lucas
Hatton is like just stupid strong at the overhead, So's Trey,
So's Evan. So those guys can all easily win this event.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
It's it. Yeah, and it's great because like I said,
it's it's just these are all lined up, yeah, and
then and then yeah, so you know what I'm saying,
it it's crazy and you know, like and I don't
even know what to make of Event five because it
says power drive.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
Now do you have the list of competitors in front
of you?
Speaker 2 (21:17):
I do have the list of competitors in front of me.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Okay, go ahead, run through that real fast, all right.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
For strong men Tom Stultman, Trey Mitchell, hawthorpe Jornsen, uh,
Rhin O'Neill uh, the current world strongest Man, Evan Singleton,
the strongest man on Earth, Thomas Evans, Austin Andrade, Patty Hayes,
Mitchell Hooper, and Lucas Hatton.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
Yeah. Like I said, it's a.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
Stacked card of assassins, all right, that's that say is
it's a stacked card of champions. It's a stack card
of assassins who are fucking biting at the chop. So
like we got one that's Mitchell, Evan, four, Neil and Stoltman.
(22:12):
So you got you got champions. You got five champions
in this here.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
Yeah. Man, that's gonna be nuts. Uh yeah. And then
you got Patty's gonna come in there and steal points, yeah,
because he's going to do better than most people thinking.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
He's fast and he's got a grip on him like
ain't no tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Right, and he'll be another one that slides into a
couple of spots on the deadlift. He'll be another one
that you know, he'll probably do pretty decent at the
yoke and the power stairs because he's so young and
so athletic. He'll yeah, he'll surprise some people on that. Yeah,
but like I said, I'll stick to where I've been
going with most of these.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Yeah, Thor will do good at the yoke, and Thorb
will do good at the.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Power stairs exactly. And everyone that we're talking about here
are are like champions in the right of like you know,
that's why it's like a top tier. Like people coming
into this right now is gonna it's gonna be a
show to watch.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Oh yeah, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
But uh, let's get into event five. No details. I'm
not sure. I'm assuming it's gonna be the bull that
they used before. I could be absolutely wrong, but it's
the power drive. It says push then pull for time.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
No, I think that this will be something else, something else,
So yeah, I think it'll be something else. Uh. Yeah,
that's gonna be interesting.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Yeah, it doesn't give no more than that, So okay, yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
You're gonna whoever can suffer probably the hardest, the longest Yeah,
it's probably gonna do really well at this. I would
expect four with this bigger body weight. Tom bigger body
weight will probably do very good at this. This could
be something that Tom Evans does really well. Yep, and
(24:03):
Lucas as well. It's kind of to kind of depend
on the event itself and the the size of the
things and where you grip and stuff like that. That'll
make a difference. That it's probably gonna make the biggest difference.
And the rules on how they have to push it
and then pull it back or pull it and then
push it. It's gonna that one will be fun, because
(24:27):
I agree, I think that's gonna be quite miserable.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
I definitely see that well. The last and final event,
it says Mons Mega are Mons Meg Stones.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Yep that you know, Thor is really really good at Stones,
Cooper super strong. It's whoever's got the most left in
them when they get to this whoever's in the best shape,
like physically, I see Patty stealing some points at this one. Yeah,
(25:00):
But whoever gets to this one like that's the freshest,
they're probably gonna do the best at it. Whoever's came
here ready to play and who's in shape and like
physically I'm going to tear through everything. This is gonna
be an event that they're just gonna destroy and probably
clean house with it. Yeah, it's gonna be it's gonna
(25:24):
be fun. Yeah, and to see who figures out what
on it, Yeah, it'll be it'll be pretty good. Thora's
good at stones. Stultan is like obnoxious at stones.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
So yeah, it's yeah, you know.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
So but is it the ones that they carry or
is it a medley?
Speaker 2 (25:43):
It doesn't say it, just it, that's all it says.
It says right here, uh, Monds, meg stones, m O
n s and then it's m E G stones. So
I have no idea how to interpret that.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Okay, hold on, sorry.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Guys, something m O n s and then m e
G stones. So it's two words mons meg stones on
the last one.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
M O N s yep, m e g h okay,
oh okay. Yeah. So these are like giant cannonballs. Okay,
(26:44):
but it looks like they're made out of concrete, but
they look like giant canniballs. Yeah. So like Tom's gonna
be tough to beat thor is gonna be tough to
beat whoever comes? Uh? Yeah, Well it's in Scotland too,
so yeah, there you go. But yeah, whoever comes in
(27:07):
this with the best conditioning and stuff like that, you
don't know what the rules are, whether they're allowed to
use taki, whether they're not allowed to use taki. That's
gonna be pretty good. If they're not allowed to use taki.
I'm gonna say Trey's gonna like destroy this. Yeah, and
(27:29):
I think Hooper will do pretty good at it too,
because he's been doing a lot of training without Tacky
as well. Thor is always going to be good at him,
and so it was Tom Stultman. So it's gonna be
it's going to be a fight. Like I said, I
think I think it'd come down to four guys in
the last event. Yeah, points wise, So it's gonna be
(27:50):
fun to watch. There we go, It really is. I'm
not going to predict a winner because it's too all
over the place. It's gonna be hard to just go,
oh this, then watch one guy come in and just
blasts blasts through everything. But right now it's it's gonna
be hard to pick because you could have a guy.
(28:11):
As long as you make the top three in each event,
it's all that matters. Yep, that's there's one guy that's
really good at that. That's a guy named Mitchell Hooper.
So you know, but Lucas is super strong right now.
Evan's ungodly strong right now, but his hamstring kind of
is off. So is it is it back to normal?
(28:34):
Is it ready for this show? Yeah, that's a question.
Thor Thor's deadlift is just obnoxious right now. So anything
that he's going to do with his lower back and
stuff like that, he's gonna He's on point because he
didn't even look wiped out after pulling five ten. So
and then Trey and Tom are both super strong, so
(28:59):
it's gonna kind of it's gonna be a fight. Nobody's
gonna walk through this. I don't see that, but it'll
be who gets through, who stays the healthiest, and who
makes the least amount of mistakes. And that's what happens
when he gets to the top. I mean, you get
it to the top, and whoever executes the best, it
makes the fewest amount of stakes mistakes and is willing
(29:19):
to hurt more than the other guys, it's usually gonna
be the guy that ends up winning. So that's it.
It's gonna be a good fight. This is gonna be
a good show.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
It's gonna be a really good show. And speaking of
good shows, uh, you know we've all seen the rumblings
and hearings of Battle of the Beast.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Yeah, you know.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
Eddie Hall presents Battle of the Beast is I'm assuming
a TV show, right?
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Uh? Yeah, it's a strong man contest TV.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Show, Yes, exactly.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
So it's really neat to see Eddie do this. It
really is. Yeah, it's it's I think it's gonna be
quite amazing and people need to get out and go
watch this thing. They really do and you know, go
look at it, go watch it because it's gonna make
these guys work. He's gonna make him do a bunch
of funny stuff. So Eddie's got a sense of humor,
(30:11):
so it should be entertaining, to say the least. I'm
kind of looking forward to watching it.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Well, I'm just gonna give a quick shout out here
of contestants.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Okay, go ahead, So, uh.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
This is gonna be pretty pretty close to the Rogue lineup,
just a few extra people in here. So first contestant
Trey Mitchell, h Mitchell Hooper, Ryan O'Neil, Gavin Bilton, Bolton,
(30:44):
Evan Singleton, Mark Felix, Luke Stoltman, Patty Hayes, Austin Andrade,
and Patty Odor. Yep, that's it.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Wow. Yeah, it's gonna be pretty interesting. Oh yeah, yeah,
and you got some characters in there too. You got
some people that are pretty entertaining. You're gonna see a
lot of personalities come out in this.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
Oh yeah, a lot of person does. And even too
is like there's even a brief description of everything that
they're doing, because like just right off top, I'm just
gonna read it right here. It says ten of the
world ten strongest men from around the world competing in
a series of crazy challenges that will test their strength, appetite, endurance, resilience,
pain tolerance, and combat skill to determine who's the ultimate Beast.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
Yeah. It's gonna be pretty entertaining. I know these food challenges.
Yeah yeah, well good luck with that, guys.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
Well just so we know, so the endurance is going
to be a beach melody on the sand of Melina Bay.
Since face grueling one versus one obstacle, course of rowing, dragging, lifting,
and swimming, speed stamina will will decide who crosses the
(32:11):
finish line first.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Swimming.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Yes, you know what I'm saying, it's gonna be a
little different swimming. You know, I'm because all these guys
are rare, you know, pretty thick. Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
It's good Eddie, Eddie will probably I would not be
surprised to see Eddie jump into the swimming part of that,
just for fum because it's like a shark in the water.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
You can swim like, well, you know what what what
uh uh you did? Yeah, it was a swimmer. So
the next for for pain, it's gonna be a belly flop.
Contestants will launch themselves from a platform into the water.
Victory goes to the boldest and most entertaining flop.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
There's gonna be some some some some big bellies and
heavy body. It's gonna be like a rock hitting that water.
So I'm definitely definitely willing and wanting to see that.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
Yeah, well, Patty Paul and Felix are going to be
a disadvantage of that, and even Luke, now yeah, Luke's
pretty turned now exactly, They're not gonna have really big
bellies for the belly flop. So that's interesting. They're gonna
be a disadvantage for that exactly.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
So for the resilience, it's gonna be the Hercules pillars.
For uh ross style. You know, I'm probably butchering it,
but the contestants must cling to the Hercules pillars as
long as possible. Grip, grit, and determination will separate the
strong from the broken.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Yeah, I'll say, unless hell freezes over or something goes wrong,
I think Felix is probably gonna do that pretty well.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
Well, Rhino at you know, he let it go at
world's strongest man because he didn't know right, So you
know what I'm saying, we got you got a new
grip versus a young grip, which that might be a
factor there.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Well, if Felix is tried true and holds the record
in many things, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
Hooper's got a pretty good grip too, it should be
that should be fun to watch. But I see Mark
doing really well on that one.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Oh yeah, so let's go into combat. It will be
sumo wrestling. Consistence face off in a knockout sumo wrestling
tournament with a twist. Strength, balanced strategy will decide who
determines who determines the ring Dino. Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Yeah, that's gonna be funny. That's gonna be fun to watch.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Fighting wise, I know Govin was was in the military, yep,
so that might be kind of interesting. Uh uh. And
then Austin's gonna be a big dude. He's gonna be hard,
he's gonna be hard to deal with. And Evan's got
(35:08):
a little bit of wrestling in his background too, so
that's it. It should be pretty interesting to see what
happens with that exactly. But you got Hooper being smart
and can events apart, so he'll probably take a look
at the rules and see what he can do do.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
That's it. Well for strength, paying homage to Eddie Hall's
legendary five hundred kg lift, Architestas will attempt a deadlift
cage of cannonballs with the weights increasing each round.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
Okay, so it's a last man's standing deadlift basic.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Yeah, that that should be pretty good. I mean, Evan, Austin,
Felix will hang in there for quite a while. Trey,
that'll be a good one. That'll be really good. That'll
be fun to watch, especially how he gets it set up.
And stuff like that. That'll be pretty cool. It's gonna
be a spectacle to watch. I'll tell you when things
(36:07):
for sure, anything to do with Eddie, it's going to
be entertaining. It's gonna be funny to watch. The guys
are going to have to figure it out. That's it.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Well, and with the final event appetite feast final event,
this eating challenge will crown the contestant with the biggest
appetite and we'll find out who's the overall winner of
Battle of the Beast.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Okay, yeah, that's uh. I wouldn't even know where to
go with that.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
At all.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
Uh Yeah, I wouldn't even know where to go with that,
because you'd be surprised. Some of the smaller guys probably
eat more than the bigger guys. Yeah, and then some
of the bigger guys probably don't aren't used to it.
They're eating. They're used to eating a whole bunch of meals,
not one big shot. So exactly, that one's going to
be kind of interesting, because that one's gonna end up
(37:10):
being painful, Yes, especially if he does it for time.
If he does it for a time when it and
they only have say like a half an hour to
eat as much as they can. Yeah, that one's gonna
get pretty nasty if he If he does like a
longer time, like an hour, that could that could be
(37:33):
just as bad. But I would figure he's probably gonna
it's probably go somewhere between fifteen minutes and a half
an hour. And then the guy's just gonna have to
eat everything they can eat. And does it say how
he's going to judge it.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
No, it does not give us any of.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
That, because i'd make him get on a scale.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
Well, you know.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
There's ways to cheat on that. You just drink a
whole bunch of water as well.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
Yeah, exactly the food that you can, and then fill
all the empty gaps with water.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
So maybe it'd be like a hot dog eating contest.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
Oh yeah, yeah, I don't know, but it's gonna be funny.
Well then I would definitely expect to see somebody vomit.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
Oh yes, I agree. And for everybody who's listening, this
start uh tomorrow, which will be today when this when
the free version comes out, So this October second, October third,
October fourth, and you know what I'm saying. So it's
like you got three days, three events or not three events,
(38:40):
but everything's spread out amongst those three days for everyone
to be watching.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
Yeah, and uh, this is gonna be pretty entertaining. Yeah,
I will be watching this.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Yeah, it's gonna be crazy.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
Because I know how Eddie thinks and some things, and
it's gonna be it's gonna be funny.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
Oh boys, An, that's it.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
I will enjoy this thoroughly.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Well, you know, now that we've geeked out on all
the strong Man stuff, let's make a pivot herevot Yes,
the pivot, No pivot, pivot, Okay, it's pivot.
Speaker 1 (39:15):
You.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Actually, we were gonna supposed to talk about the Charlie Sheen,
but guess what. I only watched half of it. I
couldn't really get through much of it today because I
was so busy. But you did watch a different movie,
and I want to hear about it.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
I did. I watched The New Superman.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
Well, you know, we we kind of talked about it
before because before both of us watched it, we had
a pretty good notion of what it was.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Yeah, and unfortunately it was pretty pretty along those lines.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
Okay, that's why I did watch it.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Yeah, I mean, the best part of the whole movie
is probably Lex luthor. Yeah, and you know, just a
guy that's supposed to be that smart and the person
that ends up really frying him in the end. Yeah.
(40:08):
It that part was pretty into that. That was probably
the best part of the movie for me. Yeah, but
the rest of it, kind of him being able to
kind of get beat up and stuff and yeah, yeah,
the premise about that and then the lack of kind
(40:29):
of the lack of respect and stuff like that because
they just feel they can the way the way they
kind of like talk to him and ask him questions
or come after him or go after the decision he
makes to save lives, and it's like, I'm trying to
save lives. Yeah, you know, that's it. I'm just trying
to save people's lives. I'm not really worried about their
governments and stuff like that. And the way they came
(40:51):
at him like that, I was like, oh, yeah, this.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
Is a little on the little too much on the.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Nose, a little too much on the.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
I don't know, and like trying to get too political.
But you got to call a spade. You got to
call a spade a spade.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
Yeah, and not like kind of how they did that.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
I mean, yeah, well it didn't do extremely well either,
so probably why that's.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
Probably why they keep barking up the wrong tree with
a lot of these things. And this is about creating
a person that functions well. They didn't have you know,
the American way in there. Yeah, you know, true justice
in the American way wasn't in there.
Speaker 2 (41:36):
And you know that's yes, and that that's a Superman standard.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Yeah, I mean that's that's everything in a nutshell for Superman.
And you know, and to make his parents look that
way was pretty awful as well, because you'll find there's
like a message from his parents and when you see
is like one half of it, and then I suppose
they unlock the other half of it and you never
(42:05):
really find out if it's been altered or that was
the actual other half of it was. And they actually
try to say it was authentic and stuff like that,
and it was just like it just really destroys the
whole entire Superman's story in my opinion, from what we
knew of what Superman's parents, you know, why they sent
(42:27):
him there. It's in all the other movies, and then
they say this or look like this in there, and
it's just yeah, it was just really really just to
the core awful.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
Yeah, I mean right now, like Superman, like it's hard
and wrong.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
This is Kryptonian parents not this is all fiction anyway, Yeah, but.
Speaker 2 (42:54):
It is all fiction. But Superman is an American icon,
an American standard.
Speaker 1 (43:00):
Well it was a comic book icon. It was the
same way all the time. Yeah, and Superman was always
true justice in the American way.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
His parents are Kansas, you know what I'm saying, raised.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
Raised in Kansas, crashed into Kansas and that type of stuff,
Middle America, that type of thing. And for them to
and you know, his father Darrell and stuff like that,
and you know, and all the other movies and all
the other comic books and everything else. He has messages
for his son to be a good person. We're sending
(43:34):
you there to help them and stuff like that, and
for them to change that is they're sending them there
to help and do stuff and then rule them.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
Yes, exactly.
Speaker 1 (43:44):
Not cool, not remotely cool. The guy that made this,
I think Gunn or Gwynn or whatever his name.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
Is, James, I don't know if it was James Gunn
that filmed.
Speaker 1 (43:55):
It, but yeah, gun filmed it. Yeah. He should just
never do DC anything again, if I was, if I
were in charge of DC, he would be completely removed
from anything because I mean that's just, yeah, just completely
against what it's supposed to be. And it's more people
(44:17):
trying to ruin the old kind of way of looking
at those things and just make it all turn everything
that's older into trash.
Speaker 2 (44:28):
And that's exactly they're trying to turn us off on heroes.
Speaker 1 (44:32):
Cool.
Speaker 2 (44:32):
So no one wants a strong, a male male hero
in the in these things. But that's the thing is
that's what Superman.
Speaker 1 (44:38):
Is, right, And that was you know, yeah, that was
just Yeah.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
Like I said, I haven't watched it, so I definitely
can't give my opinion, but I can definitely give the
opinion on my opinion on what I hear. But let's
let's get away from the negative and let's spin it
into a positive.
Speaker 1 (44:58):
Lex Luthor character is probably the best.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
And any dog and the dog, yeah, you can't go
wrong with it.
Speaker 1 (45:04):
And then his his the what is is his cousin
that flies in Yeah the movie Supergirl? Yeah, doing that
to her, having her flying and drunk? Are you kidding?
Speaker 2 (45:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (45:19):
Really seriously are you kidding? Why would you? Yeah? I'm
glad I didn't pay for it to be.
Speaker 2 (45:26):
And that's how it goes. Well, what I even wanted
to say was, let us spin it to a positive.
Give me your two favorite versions of Superman, because I
have my two for two.
Speaker 1 (45:38):
Okay, the very first one with Christopher Reeves. It's a
great one that was pretty good. And then, uh, the
other one.
Speaker 2 (45:46):
The guy that played the Winter Oh, Henry Cavill.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
Heaven Cavell. Those two, yeah, probably my favorite ones.
Speaker 2 (45:54):
Well, I like Henry Cavill, but Dean Kine will always
be my Superman. Okay, controversial, but that's how I feel
because I grew up watching Lois and Clark when he
was on the w B.
Speaker 1 (46:07):
Right right, No, that's hey. Look, it's all what which
each individual likes to be exactly, So the original one
Christopher Reeves.
Speaker 2 (46:16):
And then Henry keV. Yeah, and speaking of that, you know,
I don't know, you know, it's always internet rumors until
I actually hear it true. But you said Henry Cavill
will be playing uh duncan McLoud or the klam McLoud
coming up.
Speaker 1 (46:31):
Yeah, that'll be that'll be cool. If they they're gonna
remake the whole thing, right.
Speaker 2 (46:34):
Yeah, they're gonna remake the whole thing, and even Adrian
Paul is going to be making a cameo in it too,
So it's like you going to get Connor McCloud from
the Klam McCloud also in this too.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
So yeah, I just don't know how you do him?
Is Connor though?
Speaker 2 (46:50):
Well he he well, it's he. He won't be he
won't be Connor. He's gonna be Duncan. But yeah, no, no,
he's not gonna be Henry Kevell won't be a Kurgan.
He's gonna he's gonna play He's gonna be playing Duncan
McLeod or Connor McLeod and Adrian Paul's Duncan McLeod. So
he's uh. But also to uh what's his name that
(47:12):
just retired is going to be coming out of retirement
to play uh Ramirez. Remember he was uh uh bat
you know Batman's uh uh he was Alfred and Batman.
I can't remember his name. Yeah, Michael Kaine, that's the
rumors anyways, I don't know how true that is. So
Michael Kane will be playing Ramirez.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
Now my question is who they getting to play the.
Speaker 2 (47:36):
Kurgan man They had talked I just saw a picture
of it too. But they got someone good to play
the Kurgan.
Speaker 1 (47:42):
Well, because Henry Cabell is not a small dude.
Speaker 2 (47:45):
Oh he's not a small dude. And they have to
get a big guy to play, but they did. And
I can't remember the guy's name right now, to be
like six eight oh.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
Yeah, he's easy close to three hundred pounds.
Speaker 2 (47:58):
Yeah, unless it's gonna be a lot of shots because.
Speaker 1 (48:01):
You got to bed. You could not win the strongest,
you know, and and stuff like that. I mean, that
was such a classic bad guy, yeah, in the original
Highlander movie. I mean that's it's just as bad as
you could be for a.
Speaker 2 (48:19):
Guy, exactly. And it's funny as hell too, is like.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
Memorable, he made the whole movie.
Speaker 2 (48:25):
And that guy's played in so many movies and done
so many things Starship Troopers Ship. I believe he's Patrick
Starr from SpongeBob SquarePants.
Speaker 1 (48:36):
That's funny.
Speaker 2 (48:37):
Yeah, you know what I'm saying. It's it's it's it's
it's insane. It's insane.
Speaker 1 (48:42):
Yeah, And so I mean that that it'll be interesting
to see Cavil in that movie.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
So oh yeah. And the one thing I love about
cavill Is. He is a fanatic for keep it simple,
keep it to the book, story to the story. You
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (49:01):
I feel bad for Netflix.
Speaker 2 (49:03):
Yeah, I do too.
Speaker 1 (49:06):
Well they did. They made some season and now they're
coming into the fourth season, which should be out anytime.
So it's not going to do anything.
Speaker 2 (49:16):
Yeah, you know, it's it's it's uh, you know, what's
his name's brother, the Thor's brother is going to be
playing the Witcher. And it's like, oh, man, if you
guys would have just stuck to the story stage, to
the script, and like.
Speaker 1 (49:31):
At the end of the day, some of these people
that are making these decisions and really not sticking to
what the actual stories were and what the video games
were and stuff like that on games that are based
like that, the studios and the companies should really start
taking a look and why they've employed these people exactly exactly,
(49:55):
and maybe it's time for them to not be in
that industry anymore. I mean, Disney's, Disney's destroyed Marvel.
Speaker 2 (50:02):
Disney Ye Star Wars.
Speaker 1 (50:05):
And you know, you can't tell them that, but they
have and you know, this this type of person that's
in that that's this type of person that's affecting. Think
these things at the executive levels need to be kind
of rooted out of these companies because people just don't
want to watch it, and you keep having failure after
(50:28):
failure after failure, and yeah, it'll make a little money,
but nothing, but it should and at some point, you know,
maybe you should really kind of look at who's paying
to watch and who's at the end of the day,
if they're not willing to pay and come watch, you
got a problem. Maybe that's where the problem is exactly.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
So hey, that's hey, me tell right now, and we'll
both stand on that soapbox, because you know, we want
to watch these things. I'm a movie buff. I grew
up watching movies and I want to watch things that
make me happy and that catch my my my eye,
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (51:07):
Which we have a good story, and a lot of
these stories are established. Yes, let's not let's if you're
gonna tell a story, tell the story. Yeah, don't don't
destroy this the original story in the part of it. Exactly.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
I understand you gotta you gotta fudge it a little
bit for practical purposes, but that means you don't fucking
hit the hit a left and take that detour, and don't.
Speaker 1 (51:33):
Don't destroy the story. If you want to have a
different type of thing that you're pushing out there or doing,
write a whole new story. Yeah, do actually sit down
and write something that's completely new.
Speaker 2 (51:49):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (51:50):
And if you can't do that, don't do it. Don't
do it. If you can't write something free standing on
its own that people want to see, don't change the
old stories. Just retell the story with younger, newer actors,
and any kind of changes you would do in it
(52:13):
make it to better tell the story. I mean, Dune
comes to mind is kind of the way to pretty
much do that, right. There's a couple of things I
probably wouldn't have done so much of, but I would do,
Like who the people that did Dune as opposed to
the old Dune as opposed to the books. They're doing
pretty good so far. Hire more of those people to
(52:38):
tell the story exactly.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
I think we squeezed everything out of that one.
Speaker 1 (52:49):
But the main thing is enjoy yourself. Enjoy your lives
and have fun with things, and be good to other people.
You know, be good, spread kind things to everyone everywhere
as best you can. And in this day and age,
(53:12):
try to have patience with other people and see where
they're coming from as best that you can in these days.
And just go out and pay one for it. That's
it's it. And go out there, train hard, train smart,
