ON TODAY'S SHOW
Sammy Chand's Tuesday show is day two of Dhurandhar Week — and today the focus shifts to the music itself. The hour opens with Aari Aari, a Shashwat Sachdev production stacking Bombay Rocker, Reble, Jasmine Sandlas, and Khan Saab — the kind of cross-generational, multi-language collaboration that defines the Dhurandhar sonic universe. From there the show threads through the new pulse: Jai Dhir's Moon, Sanju Rathod's chart-topping Marathi cut Bangles, Dhee's Tamil Vari Vari, Sahib Samra's 1 Day. Sammy plays five more Shashwat Sachdev productions across the hour — Aakhir Ishq with Jubin Nautiyal, Jaiye Sajana with Jasmine Sandlas and Satinder Sartaaj, Hum Pyar Karne Wale (a multi-generational reimagining featuring Queen Herby, Anuradha Paudwal, and Udit Narayan), Main Aur Tu with Jasmine Sandlas, and a fresh cut Destiny featuring Token, Vaibhav Gupta, and Shahzad. Plus Sammy's daily Indian cinema correspondent Anushka Arora stops in with a substantial conversation — perfectly placed during Dhurandhar Week when Indian film is everyone's beat. Neesh previews his show. Dr. Roy on Word On The Avenue. Doyeeta Das Gupta with the Artist Spotlight. The hour closes with Yashraj's Mujhe Ye Gaana Pasand Hai and Shubh's Bounce — both chart presences keeping the countdown momentum alive going into Wednesday.

It's remarkable what Shushwa Sachdev did on these two soundtracks.

Speaker 7 (18:10):
He really did. He's doing the job of many men
of the last several years.

Speaker 8 (18:17):
This job of completing the entire spectrum of a soundtrack
was left to more than one composer, sometimes up to
as many songs as they were in the film. You
went to a different composer for that sound But what
shush what has done in this soundtrack. In both of them,

(18:37):
he was able to cover the entire spectrum of stuff
that he needed to do for the soundtrack by himself.
An incredible, incredible achievement and something a bit of a throwback,
if you will. Now, let's bring a niche. The host
of the show called the Garage Mahal as he gives

Speaker 7 (39:40):
What's up Anushka? Hey, Sammy? All good?

Speaker 16 (39:43):
How are you all right?

Speaker 8 (39:45):
I've got this kind of you know, this film series
here in front of me. I've been dissecting it in
all kinds of different ways, using music, using the film
to tell the story of the impact of what these
two films have done of the last what the the last.

Speaker 7 (40:00):
Several months or so?

Speaker 19 (40:02):
Uh huh?

Speaker 9 (40:02):
You know what?

Speaker 3 (40:03):
Say you?

Speaker 8 (40:04):
How would you put the impact of these two films
in the perspective for folks?

Speaker 16 (40:10):
Look, you know, I can go on and on and
on about let's call it a franchise. Under one and
the under two. They haven't been just movies. They have
been It's been a whole movement in Indian cinema. Like
it has completely changed the game, no matter which aspect
we're talking about, from the music to the direction, to

(40:34):
the cinematography to the cast. Like we're talking, every single
thing is a ten on ten. Now if we talk
about the less of the movie, you're giving me a
four hour movie. Okay, actually you're not even a four
hour movie.

Speaker 34 (40:47):
You're giving me an.

Speaker 16 (40:48):
Eight hour movie. You're giving me a solid eight hour movie.
It's split into two parts in the year twenty twenty six,
when everyone's concentration span is no more than thirty seconds. Yeah,
we're in a time where we're doom scrolling, right, We're
just scrolling on our phone. But yet we have managed
to get or I say we, they have managed to

(41:09):
get every single person in theaters for not just the
first movie, but for the second movie. Now that speaks volumes. Dammy,
that speaks absolute volumes.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
And you know, if we really.

Speaker 16 (41:24):
Home in and if we really dissect the content, if
we dissect the story. Now, I've always said this, that
content is king. The story is king here, no matter
how much of a good cast you get, no matter
how much of an amazing soundtrack you have.

Speaker 7 (41:39):
Well to a movie, you know what it is the story.

Speaker 16 (41:43):
That makes it. And this has just proved it. Because
Under one and the Under two have completely proved that
content is king. You cannot you cannot go away from
that whatsoever. Look at the star cast. Just look at
the star cast. You have you know, the likes of
revising who this is? You know, everyone calling this is

(42:04):
kind of like a comeback movie because you know, his
last few movies they haven't worked at the box office,
which is fine, every actor goes through this, you know,
the best of the best go through it. But this
one has been a mighty one for every single actor
in any way, shape or form, so releasing anyway we
know this is this has you know, been his comeback movie.

(42:25):
Odren Rampas.

Speaker 7 (42:27):
Whoever thought whoever.

Speaker 16 (42:29):
Thought this was going to be such a meaty role, okay,
kna Like he was the talk of the town like
for the first one, and I think everybody missed him
in the second one.

Speaker 3 (42:40):
Of all.

Speaker 16 (42:41):
You know, everyone's like, you know, we need to to
come up back, but you know there was no way
he could come back because he died in the first one, right.
And then you have a TV star like Rocki Beddy.
I have grown up watching that guy on Indian TV
shows and for him to make that appearance and to
have that character in these films is absolutely solid.

Speaker 7 (43:02):
It is solid.

Speaker 16 (43:03):
I mean I can go on and on and talk
about the entire movement and the monster and the you
know box office a raw that you know this movie
has created. It is just really absolutely phenomenal. And I
just feel so happy that I get to live it.
I feel so happy because it just makes me so proud,
Like awards, no awards, It doesn't matter. I mean it

(43:26):
doesn't matter. Right, Like we have the soundtrack, like you
know Jasmine Sandlers as a female Indian singer. She has
carried that through the first one and the second one
with you know Shashworth Suve who has composed the music.
And when I say composed, he has really used the
old songs and how because let me tell you one

(43:49):
thing that terribly wrong. Yeah, it could have gone terribly wrong,
but he honestly, I just don't know how he did it.
But he is a word of magic. Yeah, it's unbelievable.

Speaker 8 (44:02):
I know you've seen the original Drunder the Revenge, and
I know you and I were sitting on the edge
of our seats waiting for Friday to come so we
can see the brand new unedited version or the extended
version of that.

Speaker 7 (44:15):
They call it the Undicka version.

Speaker 8 (44:17):
Right, So yes, yes, all right, without spilling the entire
beans here as far as what you saw and the
extended version, talk about that extended scene and everything in
between there.

Speaker 16 (44:29):
Yeah, I mean, like you said, I'm not going to
give too much of it away because I don't want to.
But the fact that we get undickar like that is
just the word itself. You know, if you've been a
fan of these two films, you know you can't miss this.
Like it's just extra. It's extra, it is what you
want to see.

Speaker 29 (44:47):
It's a bits that we didn't get to see in.

Speaker 16 (44:49):
Cinema and like it. Like like the title suggests, it
is raw and it is undeca. So you know, if
you haven't seen it, I suggest you watch it.

Speaker 7 (44:58):
It's time to head on over, right.

Speaker 8 (45:00):
So what we're doing, what we've been doing all week long,
was yesterday on Monday, we had everybody stop and say,
all right, we're gonna go through this week together. And
yesterday we had everybody watch the very first one. Again
it's like, all right, catch up tonight. Everybody is gonna
be asked to watch the Revenge tonight, so folks get
ready for tomorrow. We'll be back to kind of reflect

(45:22):
on it all and kind of you know, dissect it
all in another way.

Speaker 3 (45:26):
But ah, this is.

Speaker 8 (45:27):
Gonna be fun. Anushka, thank you so much for joining
us today and for bringing so much into this show.

Speaker 16 (45:33):

Speaker 8 (56:44):
And before the song, we were playing songs from the
Under the Revenge soundtrack, and I think Friday night, the
rest of you finally got to see raw Anandeka, the
brand new cut by Under the Revenge that was released
on Netflix and on this show where we care about
the music more than anything else. Here is what I

(57:06):
want you to think about now that you've seen it,
or we'll be seeing it tonight. Hopefully the extended soundtrack
changed the film. The songs that that the Odare couldn't
fit into the theatrical run weren't filler, they were structural.
There's a sequence in the extended cut that doesn't exist
in the theatrical version, and the entire emotional weight of
that sequence lives in the music. If you watched it

(57:29):
this weekend and felt something in your chest you didn't
feel in the theater back in March, that wasn't the footage.

Speaker 7 (57:35):
That was the score.

Speaker 8 (57:36):
That was the song that the the Daar wanted you
to hear and finally got to put in you Tomorrow
on this show, we go inside part two and the
cut itself. We play the music that was carrying the weight.
I want you to come.

Speaker 7 (57:51):
Back having watched it. We could talk about it together.

Speaker 8 (57:55):
I'll see you guys tomorrow. Have a great day, everybody,
and I'll leave you with this cut. One of my
favorites from the week. It's shoved.

Speaker 7 (58:02):
