(02:02):
If you've ever experienced church hurt, so the title of
this episode is Healing after Church Hurt and Trusting God Again.
Listen if you've ever been wounded by someone in the church,
whether there's been a leader, a member, or even just
the way things unfolded when you were there. You're not alone.
(02:26):
Church hurt or emotional wounds that come from church can
be one of the deepest kinds of pain because it's
a place, you know, where we expect safety, acceptance, love
and truth. So today we're going to talk about how
to recover from church hurt and most importantly, how to
(02:51):
trust God again after being hurt by his people or
people that are called believers. Listen, take a deep breath,
and invite God into this moment, because after you leave
this episode, I want you to begin the healing, the
healing that God gives you from being hurt. Listen, let's
(03:16):
listen to this song and I'd be right back.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
God is just a prayer away. All you need to
do is call. He will hear your fathest cry. He's
concerned about you while your tears are flowing through time
(03:56):

because he's.
Speaker 3 (04:07):

Speaker 2 (06:00):
He's concerned about you. He's concerned about you. He's concerned.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Oh yes, and that's what I want to come to.
Just tell you today that God is really concerned about
you and he understands. Okay, So we're talking about church Hurd, okay,
and how to get back on the road to healing
and trusting God again. Now, the first thing you have
(06:55):
to do is acknowledge the pain. So let's start here
with honesty. Church Hurd is real. It is real. It
is not petty. You know. I know someone probably told
you listen, you need to get past it. No, it's
not petty. It's not you being too sensitive. It's painful.
(07:17):
And the reason why it's painful is because it strikes
at the heart of your faith. I don't know what
happened to you, but maybe you were judged when you
needed grace. Maybe you were silenced when you need it
to speak. Maybe you were overlooked, betrayed, or used. Whatever happened,
(07:39):
it matters to God. In Psalm thirty four and eighteen,
we are reminded that the Lord is close to the
broken hearted, and he saves those who are crushed in spirit.
God sees your tears, and he understands your confusion, and
he wants to gently walk you toward healing. Now, I
(08:02):
do want to explain to you that when you have
been emotionally wounded in the church, I want to explain
that I'm not talking about church as a whole. Usually
is a local assembly, a body of believers that you
got involved with. Listen, you have to separate God from
(08:23):
the people. One of the hardest things to do after
church heard, or you've been after you've been emotionally wounded
by someone in the church, is you have to learn
how to separate God from the person. Okay, we have to.
(08:47):
You have to. People are flawed, even in leadership. The
church is made up of humans who fall short every day,
just like we all do. But God, he is pure,
he is holy, and he is just, and he never
(09:10):
misuses or abandons or shames his children. And you are
one of God's children. Jeremiah seventeenth and five says, curses
the man curses the one who trusts in man, But
blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. Listen,
put your trust in the Lord, not in the man.
(09:34):
Your healing begins when you look up again, not up
to the man, but to Jesus, the author and the
perfector of your faith. Jesus is not your pastor, not
the elder, not the brother, the sister in the church.
(09:55):
Jesus is the author and perfector of your faith. So
what you have to do is create space to grieve
and process. Okay, it is okay to step back, to pause,
to reflect. It's okay. You may feel angry, numb, or
(10:16):
even lost, and that's normal. Give yourself permission to grieve
what was broken, okay. And some ways you can do
that is you can write in a journal, okay. You
can to cry out to God in prayer, talk to
a trusted Christian counselor listen. God is not afraid of
(10:40):
your emotions. You know, He is not afraid of your emotions.
In fact, he wants you to bring your emotions to him.
The Scripture Lamentations, the third chapter. In the twenty second
and twenty third verse reminds us that because of the
Lord's great love, we are not consumed. His mercies are
(11:01):
new every morning, even in grief, He is there holding
space for your heart. Allow God to heal gently and slowly.
Healing is not always quick. See sometimes we want to
just you know, we just wanted to go away. But listen,
(11:23):
It is not always quick, but it is always possible.
God can and he will restore what was broken, not
just your faith in Him, but your ability to connect
to worship and to love freely again. So I just
want to encourage you to let Him guide you. That
(11:45):
you know that may look like visiting a new church, slowly,
worshiping privately at home first, or listening to sermons at home.
Thank God for YouTube and live stream. There's no shame
in taking your time. Psalms one seventy three says He
heals the broken hearted, and he binds up their wounds.
(12:08):
God is not rushing you, but he is holding you. Listen.
Church hurd is real, But rebuild your trust in God
and in your and His people. There are some good
people out there. There is still some good churches locally
(12:28):
with good hearted people out there. Eventually the Lord will
begin to nudge your heart back into the community, you know,
and not not to relive the past, but to create
something new. And then what you could do is ask
him to lead you, to show you where His spirit
(12:50):
is alive, you know, to to surround you with believers
who walk in humility and love in truth. Don't give
up on the body of Christ because the church is
still God's design. It's not just. It's not always done
well by the man, by the leaders, you know, but
(13:10):
healing happens in safe community. So pray for desernment and
courage as you take one step at a time. Church.
Church is real, but so it's healing and God is
not finished with your story. You can love again, worship again,
(13:35):
trust again, not because of people, but because of Him.
God is safe, he's faithful, he's steady, and he is kind.
So listen, I want to pray with you. Let's close
in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, Father, thank you for being
(13:56):
our refuge when people fell us and for the listener
out there who's carrying the pain from the church. Father
asks that you would bring healing to their heart, show
them that you are not like man that you are faithful,
gentle and just. I ask that you forgive, help her
(14:20):
and him to forgive, to relieve the rest in you.
And when the time is right, Father asks that you
would lead him back into healthy fellowship. Root it not
in fear, but in faith in Jesus' name, I pray.
(14:40):
Listen if this episode bless you, shit with someone you love,
and remember, even when others hurt you, God loves would
never fail you. You are seen, you are loved, and
you are healing. Until next time. This is the Healing
Touch Podcast. Thank you for spending time with me.
