Speaker 1 (00:04):
High of 79 today.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Might see a rain shower or storm a little bit later.
Welcome to your Thursday. I love that it's Thursday already.
Right off the bat, I have to apologize. I'm so
sorry that I am such a goldfish.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
What?
Speaker 2 (00:19):
But I believe your name is Anthony. So sorry. I
met Anthony yesterday. Air quotes, Anthony.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Golfing.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Went out and there were four of us, four guys,
all single players that just got matched together for strangers
and had a great time. Didn't play well on the front,
played amazing on the back, but we're on 17 or.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
No, 18, right?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
18 hit the hit my drive. I'm in the middle
of fairway and Anthony had hit somewhat close to me, uh,
On this first shot. So we go to hit our
second shot. And I hit it. And I hit it
fairly well. Great approach shot. Land on the green. I
got a birdie putt coming. And he hits his. And
he actually hit his a little bit better. And I
was like, all right, man. Look at you.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Good job.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
And he's like, I'm just trying to be the maverick
to your goose.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
And I get in my car and I drive away.
And I was like, wait a minute. I just thought,
did that come out of nowhere? So we get up,
we park our cars, we're walking up to Go Big Plot,
and I was like, why did you say, I'm going
to be a maverick to your goose?
Speaker 1 (01:29):
He goes, come on.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
Oh, he knew who you were.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
He didn't say anything the entire round.
Speaker 6 (01:35):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
He just called me Aaron because we all introduced ourselves,
and I was like, hi, I'm excited. I always say Aaron, obviously,
when we introduce ourselves to start a round. And he
had been saying Aaron, you know, the entire time. And
he just said, yeah. And I was like, oh, man.
And I was like, say hello and what's up. Anthony,
I hope that's your name. I feel awful. So stupid.
Speaker 6 (01:55):
I'm the same way. I cannot remember a name two
seconds after it's told to me. So I try to
repeat it. I try to do a mnemonic. How do
you say that?
Speaker 7 (02:06):
Sure, that word.
Speaker 6 (02:08):
Aaron's apples.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Aaron's apples. Who has apples?
Speaker 6 (02:11):
Aaron.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
See, I didn't do it yesterday, but something I learned
a few years ago that I do now, especially if
there's like four people you're playing with or three other people,
is once you introduce yourselves, you get back to your cart.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Because you almost always get a scorecard.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
Oh, yeah, you glance at it.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
And I write their names down.
Speaker 6 (02:29):
Oh, okay, gotcha.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
So I'm continually looking at their names on the scorecard.
Speaker 5 (02:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
That's good. Yeah, once my little cheek comes.
Speaker 6 (02:36):
Except yesterday.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Except yesterday.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
I forgot to do it.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
I've got to say somebody's name a few times.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (02:41):
That's what helps me. I say their name.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Man, I cannot tell you, and I'm sure there's lots
of couples like this, Nora and I's little secret. If
I walk up and I'm like, If I walk up
to you, we've already met Kelly, right? I walk up
to you with Nora, I'm like, all I'll say is, hey,
this is my wife, Nora. And she has to introduce
herself so I hear your name again.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
I never introduce you first, Nora.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
I'm always like, this is my wife, Nora.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Same.
Speaker 6 (03:07):
Kelly eats ketchup in Kentucky.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
I'm going to start trying that. I'm going to try anything.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
I'm in.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
I'm in on that.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
How are you on a Thursday, Kelly?
Speaker 6 (03:16):
Doing well. Doing well. Can't complain.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Glad to hear it. Thick, Errol, as well?
Speaker 5 (03:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Catch a little bit of the game?
Speaker 5 (03:22):
I did, and I got my fix, and now I'm chill,
and all is right in the world.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Right off the bat, I don't know how long he's out,
but I mean, it's crazy. They talk about who's going
to be good.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
They do.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
They do. They spend months breaking everything down, and what's
going to happen first quarter is Star quarterback goes down
right off the bat. No word on how long he's
out yet.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
It's a hip injury.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
It didn't break.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
They said it wasn't broken, so... Does.
Speaker 6 (03:46):
That change a fantasy football lineup?
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Oh, for sure.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah. Because I'm sure.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Well, he wasn't a big-time fantasy quarterback.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
He wasn't? Okay.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
No, he's not, you know. He's a backup at best
on somebody's roster, so.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Yeah, that's true. But... He led them to the Super
Bowl last year.
Speaker 5 (04:00):
He did, but didn't you look at that? If you have, like,
Jackson Smith and Jigba, the receiver.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
You're like, oh, no. But he.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
With the backup quarterback, he had over 100 yards and
a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
That's true.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
And he's pretty much, you know.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
That is true.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
No matter what, he's good to go.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Well, let's get to it. A very, very busy day.
We're going to start with Blitz Morning Trivia Thick.
Speaker 8 (04:21):
All right, $ 25 up for grabs, two waterbeds and stuff
if you're the first one to text in the correct answer.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
Speaking of last night's game in Seattle.
Speaker 8 (04:28):
Who performed the national anthem on guitar before the game
last night?
Speaker 5 (04:33):
Who came out and played that anthem on guitar? First
one to text that in at 800-821-9970, you get the
gift card.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Do we still need that answer for Blitz Morning Trivia?
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Yes. Are we just coming back to that?
Speaker 5 (04:49):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Why does it seem like that was 35 minutes ago?
Speaker 2 (04:52):
That's so strange.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
I think whatever just happened to you over there might have.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
My sternum just cut right in the middle of my chest.
I stretched and he was like a prank.
Speaker 6 (05:02):
Part of the glitch in the hard reset.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
I thought you had like ribs popping out of the way.
It sounds right in the middle.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
That was weird.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
Yes, we still need that.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Let's get the answer of this morning's trivia.
Speaker 8 (05:12):
All right, the question was who performed the national anthem
on guitar before last night's game in Seattle.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
They love to do this.
Speaker 8 (05:20):
They love to have somebody come out and play the
anthem on guitar.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
Last night it was Mike McCready from Pearl Jays.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
It was really good.
Speaker 8 (05:34):
So, yeah, and, you know.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
Why are you laughing, Kelly? You don't like it?
Speaker 6 (05:45):
Yeah, it's great.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
It's pretty exciting.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
I mean, it is Seattle. That's true. And it is
Pearl Jam, you know, so.
Speaker 8 (06:03):
Jeremy Sussman from Columbus was the first one to text
in the correct answer.
Speaker 5 (06:07):
He's a big Bears fan, and he's got $ 25 to
spend at waterbeds and stuff.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Congratulations. I need to set the tone here. I need
a special little music bed for this thick. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
I don't know what's.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Going on, but.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
Crocodiles?
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Crocodiles and alligators all over the news right now. So
I figured we'd have a little crocodile special news segment
for you. You know, coming up in the not-so-breaking news,
there's a chance we might have ourselves a WTF, a
good old What the Florida story.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
I did not know this.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
I have just learned that I guess Florida can rub
off on you. There's an Italian man who visited Florida
and he got some Florida on him. And so he
flew back to Italy and that is when authorities discovered
the head of an endangered crocodile in his luggage. He
figured while visiting Florida, do what Floridians do, I guess,
(07:03):
and decided to take home an endangered crocodile head. Just
the head. It had been dried and wrapped in ordinary
wrapping paper. Just like Christmas paper, I guess? Like, what
are you doing? I guess it evaded security in the U.S.
They see Christmas wrapping and they're like, oh, not going
to touch anyone's Christmas present. Got to leave that wrapped.
(07:26):
It's an oddly shaped present. with a pointy snout and
a bunch of sharp teeth.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
But whatever.
Speaker 5 (07:31):
The middle of summer. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Border authorities in Italy seized the head and placed the
passenger under investigation for allegedly smuggling a specimen belonging to
a protected species without the proper certificate or license.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
It's a big, long way of saying you can't do that.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
If convicted, the man can face a fine of between $ 23, 000
and $ 230, 000. I really want to know where that extra
zero comes from out of nowhere. Could be $ 23, 000, or
we may just tack on a whole other zero. $ 230, 000.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Could also face six months in prison.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Now.
Crocodile heads, endangered crocodile heads are not illegal in Florida,
but you have to go through the proper channels, and
maybe he didn't do so, and he definitely didn't do
(08:20):
so in Italy.
Speaker 6 (08:21):
Yeah, you have to claim an... All those kind of things,
don't you? Isn't there a form for that?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
I would think, yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
There's definitely CD-123 or something you need to fill out
if you're going to bring a crocodile head.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
Because when you're coming back to the country, they're like,
do you have anything? Do you take any species or
live animals?
Speaker 2 (08:39):
You can't just be flying crocodile heads halfway across the world.
Story number two. Takes us over to, oh, Florida, shockingly enough.
I guess if we're talking crocodiles. A young child was
rushed to a hospital after being bitten by an alligator
(08:59):
while swimming in an off-limits nature preserve. I mean, they
even had signs up that say, don't swim, alligator's attacking.
guess alligators can't read and they didn't know they're not
supposed to tag young children that are swimming in the
swimming hole. You know, if you see a sign that
(09:21):
says alligators in the area, you probably don't want to
get in the water. I mean, that reminds me, I
know I've told this before, but going hiking in Colorado Springs,
especially like in February, March, and they used to put
up signs that say mountain lion mating season and they
would give like five or ten rules to follow if
you're going to hike. How about only one rule? Turn
(09:44):
around and go the F back to your car. It's
mountain lion mating season. They're like just crazy.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Yeah, you don't go there.
Speaker 6 (09:53):
You can hike any other time of the year. Don't
hike now. Go somewhere else.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Or there are plenty of other trails. or open spaces.
Don't go up into the mountains where they are specifically mating.
I don't want people walking in on me mating. I'm
going to get pretty angry. I might attack.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
I don't want to walk in on you, matey.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
I wouldn't want to either. And I'm not a mountain lion.
Speaker 6 (10:19):
The last chance to turn back.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Turn back now. Turn back now. I don't know if
you've ever seen a woolly mammoth b-hole, but back up.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
That is so mean to say that about Nora.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
It is, you're right. Anyways, if you see a sign
that says alligators in the area, just avoid the water altogether.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Not so breaking news. The news already broke. We're trying
to put it back together.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Our first story takes us over to Mooresville, North Carolina,
where Mayor Chris Carney has just stepped down and will
retire at the end of the month because I guess
he likes to be comfortable in the office because he
has been caught on multiple occasions walking around City Hall
with no pants on.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
What?
Speaker 2 (11:12):
He was caught on surveillance beginning back in 2024 with
no pants on.
Speaker 6 (11:18):
Some people think better that way.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
You know, sometimes you just got to be loose and
comfortable and just let it all hang out. Literally.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
Get some air.
Speaker 6 (11:26):
Get some airflow going.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Here is the actual IT director for Mooresville, North Carolina,
Jeff Noble, speaking about it.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
You can see the mayor at least on a couple
different occasions without wearing pants, which is a very big
issue that's unethical.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Well, I mean, good for the mayor if it's a
really big issue. Congratulations, sir.
Speaker 6 (11:49):
Good for you.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Good for you.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Anyways, it has finally been brought to attention.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
So much so that the city of Mooresville might be
in a little bit of trouble because local news stations
actually are now suing for the footage under the Public
Information Act.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Oh, public records request.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Yeah, the city doesn't want to give it up, so
there's actually a legal battle going on right now. I mean,
he's already stepping down. What are you trying to accomplish here?
He knows what he did. He's trying to step down.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (12:20):
I've got to eyeball that myself.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
You want to see it?
Speaker 6 (12:23):
Yeah, definitely.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
See him walking around the hallways, just Winnie the Pooh
in it.
Speaker 6 (12:30):
I feel like you've given up your right to privacy
at that point. If you're doing that in a public building.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:37):
Taxpayer funded.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
You obviously don't care if you're seen.
Speaker 6 (12:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
So.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:41):
Let me take a look.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
You want to take a look?
Speaker 3 (12:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
All right. Story number two takes us down south. We
have ourselves a WTF. What the Florida? Three drunk men
were arrested on Sunday night at about 4.30 a.m. for
a disturbance outside of a Waffle House. Apparently, these three
drunk men walked up to the Waffle House, started pounding
on the restaurant's window, and then just started pelting the
(13:05):
building with beef sticks. Apparently, Taylor Smith, Mazismo Diaz, and
Alan Custick were having a boys' night out, which led
to them going to the Waffle House and just pelting
the building with beef sticks. Police responded to the commotion
outside the business. The suspects were found sitting on a
(13:28):
bench outside in the adjacent laundromat next to the Waffle House.
They were booked into the county jail. They were each
released on a $ 150 bond. You know... What damage are
you doing by throwing beef sticks at a Waffle House,
a brick building? I really don't understand.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
I'm so confused.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Here's the problem.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
Is it biodegradable?
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (13:49):
Someone's going to eat it. Yeah, someone's going to eat it.
Speaker 5 (13:51):
No harm, no foul. Hey, let's buy a bunch of
beef sticks. Those would be good weapons.
Speaker 6 (13:54):
You wasted good beef sticks.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Here's the problem I have, though. I'm very mad at
the police down there in Florida because... The police report
did not indicate why beef sticks were employed in the
alleged Waffle House attack. They did not find out what
brand of beef stick was used. And they did not
find out the flavor profiles of the hurled beef sticks.
I mean, are we talking the extra spicy? Are we
(14:19):
talking the chili lime? What beef sticks are we talking here?
This is all very important information that we do not
have access to right now. I may have to file
a public records request because I need to know. exactly
what beefsteaks you're using to attack said Waffle House.
Speaker 5 (14:37):
I'm guessing no damage was done.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Probably not.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
Other than some littering.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Maybe some grease streaks on the window.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Just the Slim Jim hits the window and slides down.
Speaker 7 (14:47):
Snap into it.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
That's your Not So Breaking News 99.7 The Blitz.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Kelly, you're tattoo free, right?
Speaker 6 (14:56):
Tattoo free, yes.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
Since 1972 oh that's generous thank you tattoo free i
am okay all right well you're gonna have to make
believe for this one okay because i saw this question
uh someone posted on tiktok i was like oh that's
a fun little question 800-821-9970.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
I want you to participate as well if you had
to get a movie quote tattooed on you what movie
quote would you get Oh, my God. Easy.
Speaker 7 (15:25):
Easy?
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Easy. Oh, right off the bat. Easy.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Okay, mine's easy, too.
Speaker 5 (15:29):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Mine's simple. No question. Yippee-ki-yay, mother.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
That's what I'm getting.
Speaker 6 (15:38):
Mine is, your mom goes to college. That's my favorite
movie line ever.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Really?
Speaker 5 (15:47):
You got to pick one?
Speaker 2 (15:48):
I know.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
It can get difficult.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Oh, my God. That is a random one, Kelly. Your
mom goes to college.
Speaker 6 (15:57):
Your mom goes to college. I love Napoleon Dynamite. I
could watch that movie every day.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
That's hysterical.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (16:05):
Oh, man.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
All right. Think about it, Vic.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
800-821-9970.
Speaker 5 (16:09):
One movie quote. I'm going to tattoo this on my body.
I've got to think about that.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
All right. Go ahead.
Speaker 5 (16:14):
I mean, I do love one from Pump Up the Volume,
The Truth is a Virus.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
That's a great one. That is a great tattoo, actually,
for sure.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
You can handle.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
The truth.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
That's going to be underneath the virus. Michaela says, I'm
your huckleberry. That's a great one, for sure.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Let's see. David says, kill them all. Let God sort
them out.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Strong. Another I'm your huckleberry from Nick. Amy says, you're
killing me, Smalls.
Speaker 5 (16:47):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
That is a great one.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
Oh, 1808 says, it's the effing Catalina Wine Mixer. That
is a good one.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Blitz, hi, who's this?
Speaker 6 (17:00):
This is Mercedes.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Mercedes.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
One movie quote tattooed on your body.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
What are you getting?
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Because I'm a lady, that's why. And it's from the
Arista Cats. Oh, yeah. Okay.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Because I'm a lady, that's why.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Very good.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
I like it.
Speaker 5 (17:14):
That's a good one. That's a good one.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Thank you so much for the call. Have yourself a
great Thursday. Blitz, hi, who's this?
Speaker 5 (17:20):
Hey, my name's Cody. I actually have the movie quote
tattooed on me.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Oh, you do, Cody? Okay, great. Where is it at?
Speaker 5 (17:28):
So it's on my chest, on my right pec.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
It's on your right pec.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
All right.
Speaker 6 (17:34):
Bless you.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Let's play a little guessing game here. What year is.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
You're not going to get it. Not going to get it.
Speaker 5 (17:41):
Even if he gives us the movie?
Speaker 1 (17:42):
You're not going to get it.
Speaker 5 (17:43):
Just tell us the movie.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Generation Iron, yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:46):
Oh, no clue.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Generation Iron. Oh, so it's something about lifting weights. That's
a documentary about pumping weights and stuff.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
Yes, sir. All right.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
So, I throw these plates for fun. No?
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Not that one.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Not that one.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
I don't even know if that's a quote from the movie.
Speaker 6 (18:02):
Is it, your mom goes to college?
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Is it that?
Speaker 1 (18:05):
Your mom lifts these weights.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Yeah, your mom lifts all the weights. All right.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
What is it, Cody? What's the quote from Iron something?
Speaker 3 (18:13):
So it's Kai Greene.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
He said, keep your gifts. I work hard.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Keep your gifts.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
I work hard.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
That's a strong quote. I like that. I appreciate it.
Thank you so much. Have a great one. You know, Blitz, hi,
who's this?
Speaker 6 (18:28):
Hey, this is Steve.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Steve, if you had a movie quote tattooed on you,
what would it be? From Cool Hand Luke.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
What we have here is failures communicated.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Yeah. What we have here.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
Hey, Guns N' Roses song. Yeah. Civil War. Yes. What
we got.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Here is a failure to communicate.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
That's a great one. Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
I actually, now that I think about it, I might
have a movie quote already tattooed on me. I know
it's an actual quote from this person, but I don't
know if it was in Enter the.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Dragon or not. But I have Be Like Water tattooed.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Tattooed on my left on my left which is a
bruce lee quote yeah be like water so i don't
know if he actually said that in enter the dragon
or not or one of his other movies but i
don't have that tattooed on me yeah okay uh let's
uh see here let's go to another one blitz hi
who's this uh my name's micah micah all right micah
what movie quote would you get tattooed on you i.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
Already have one it's uh from the dark knight just
die zero or you live long enough yourself, become the villain.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Oh, for the dark knight. Okay. I thought you said
the dark side. Yeah, dark knight. Okay, yes, absolutely. That's
a great one. Thank you so much. Have yourself a
great Thursday. Tags are rolling in.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
Oh, what else we got?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Pat says, I would get stupid is as stupid does.
Speaker 5 (19:53):
There you go. Oh, yeah, I'm sure you could get
lots from Forrest Gump.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
Mary says, I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Carl says, don't you quit me.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
A little Brokeback Mountain in your life. Jesse's with you, Kelly.
He says, eat your dinner, Tina.
Speaker 6 (20:15):
Tina, you fat lard, come get some dinner.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
I would have to get, if I were to get,
come here, you fat lard, I would get Tina's face. Yes.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
If you get that movie quote, you've got to get.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Tina's face on there for sure. Let's see, who else
is texting in here? 7740, they were coned.
Speaker 6 (20:39):
Oh, what's that from?
Speaker 1 (20:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (20:40):
That sounds familiar, though.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
But it does sound familiar.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (20:44):
How about from Network? I'm mad as hell and I'm
not going to take this anymore.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
That's a good one. 9456. I love this from the
movie Zombieland. Time to nut up or shut up.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Yeah. Can't go wrong there.
Speaker 6 (20:57):
Doug said, Franks and beans.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Franks and beans. To go along with that, Chris said, hey,
you guys.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Another good one.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
I see dead people.
Speaker 6 (21:07):
Oh, okay. Good one.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
Oh, Lee says, say hello to my little friend.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
There you go. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (21:14):
800-821-9970.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
I was going to.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
Say, you could do, since you love Top Gun, I feel.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
The need for speed. I almost got that.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Oh, really?
Speaker 1 (21:22):
I almost got that years ago.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
Especially when we were doing things like crawling on top
of the car while it was moving.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Like when we would switch seats.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
I would slide out of the driver's seat, my back...
Best friend Maverick would slide over, go across the roof
and come back out, come back in. Yeah, I feel
the need, the need for speed was definitely at the
top of the list for a tattoo.
Speaker 7 (21:43):
And now, the three things you need to know before
you go.
Speaker 6 (21:47):
The grandfather charged in connection with the Vinton County child
abuse case has been deemed incompetent to stand trial. The
ruling says Gary Sider's senior's competency is not restorable. that
his mental health is not likely to be restored to
the point where he can be prosecuted. Siders was charged
with 16 counts of child neglect after 16 kids were
reportedly found living in filthy and unhealthy conditions at a
(22:09):
home in the village of Hamden at the end of June.
Extensive recovery efforts have begun after Hurricane Lowell lashed the
Hawaiian island of Kauai this week. On the south shore
of the island, a home was lifted off its foundation,
split in two. Part of it was thrown across the street.
At the nearby Sheraton Hotel, the oceanfront restaurant was destroyed.
(22:30):
The pool is full of sand. Several cars carried across
the parking lot. Eighty percent of the homes on the
island remain without power. Lowell passed just west of the
islands of Niihau and Kauai on Monday as a Category
2 hurricane, prompting the National Weather Service to issue Hawaii's
first ever tornado watch. They have never had a tornado
(22:51):
watch on Kauai until now.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
This week, there's an interesting argument. I saw this last night.
There was a couple that was on their honeymoon and
they were there one day or so, maybe a day
and a half before this all happened. And they were
packing up and leaving, kind of giving up their they're
not they're not getting a refund, you know, anything like that.
There's an interesting argument online right now about if you
(23:15):
have a trip planned out there because it's a big
tourist destination. Should you go or not? Some people are
saying stay home. Hopefully you got traveler's insurance or something,
but give them space. Let them do what they need
to do to clean up and get everything ready. And
then other people are saying, no, go and spend your
money because they still need the revenue, which will help
(23:36):
with the rebuilding process.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
So I don't know if I had my trip booked.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
I don't know if I'm just giving up on it,
but I can understand with all this stuff going on.
Speaker 6 (23:48):
Yeah, I guess I don't... I find it to be
my responsibility to go spend my money on a vacation
I can't fully enjoy because the pool is full of sand.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (23:57):
And your restaurant that I was planning to use is
completely destroyed.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Destroyed, yeah.
Speaker 6 (24:02):
But I get the benevolence of that idea.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Right.
Speaker 6 (24:06):
I think I would cancel.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Yeah. Especially if I had traveler's insurance.
Speaker 5 (24:11):
Yeah, if I can get my money back.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Yeah. And reschedule for maybe another island or something. Yeah. But, yeah.
Speaker 5 (24:17):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (24:18):
Well, a treat from Slipknot. They surprised us with the
release of a new single called Arsenal. Let's try that again.
It's a new single called Arsenal. It's the first since
2022 and the first since the departure of Sid Wilson.
I know how to.
Speaker 5 (24:35):
Dominate an altar.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (24:56):
Oh, we got some scratching going on here.
Speaker 6 (24:58):
Yeah, who's doing it? Because it's not Sid Wilson. Yeah,
so they also released an accompanying video with the single.
Their last album called The End So Far was released
in 2022. So this is the first new music we've
(25:19):
gotten from Slipknot. The band did not announce any new
albums or any plans to release anything else. This is
just kind of a one and done for now.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
Oh, just this song.
Speaker 6 (25:29):
Just this song. That's it so far. Those are your
three things.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
All right, you're on your way to the job site,
getting ready to put in a hard day's work, but
you know most likely there's going to be someone there
that just doesn't pull their own weight or isn't grasping
simple concepts or is just really annoying. And so there
was a guy I saw online, and he is a
(25:56):
good old blue-collar worker. He's out there pounding the pavement
and doing what he does, his blue-collar job, and he's like,
you know, I want to start a thread of just
insults for that person you work with at the job
site in your blue-collar job that just is, ugh, that person. Yes.
(26:17):
Like this person who said, having you here is like
sending two good guys home.
Speaker 6 (26:24):
Oh, that's good.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, yeah. You've got this person you might work with.
That boy could hide his own Easter eggs. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
That's a great one. I'm keeping that in the back
pocket for sure. A little blue collar insult on the
job site. You're the first person I've met that has
met his full potential. You're there.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
You did it.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Congratulations. You did it. You have reached your full potential.
This great blue collar insult. Take a day or two
off so we can catch up. Causing way more damage
than you're worth, man. We need to fix your problems
before we can even get to the regular work. Blue
(27:09):
collar insult for you on the job site. I can
tell you were a C-section baby by the.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Way you avoid labor.
Speaker 6 (27:16):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
That's right to the face.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
That's a good one. This blue collar insult.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
What are you, neither-handed?
Speaker 2 (27:28):
You got that guy just standing around.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
And finally.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
Got a good blue-collar insult for you for the job site.
I know you're trying your best, but could you try
someone else's best?
Speaker 4 (27:39):
Yeah, that's another good one.
Speaker 6 (27:44):
Those are great.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
That one I'm going to use on one of the boys.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
I can guarantee it.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
One of these teenagers is going to do something stupid
and be like, I know you're trying your best, but
could you try someone else's best?
Speaker 8 (27:56):
You couldn't pour piss out of a boot with the
instructions on the heel.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
That is a good one. Yes, I do like that one.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Let's see, Zach. Oh, Zach works at a blue-collar job.
Here's one for you. Call the worker toes because he's
the furthest thing from a hand you could ever be.
That is great. You've got one.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
800-821-9970.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
It's Thursday, which means we have to visit one of
our favorite websites.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
That would be FML.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
F my life, where people jump online and admit things
going wrong in their life so you can feel better
about yours. Like this person who admits, today someone spray
painted a black skull on the side of my house.
We painted over it and installed lights to hopefully persuade
intruders not to vandalize the property anymore because it would
be a brightly lit area.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
The lights were stolen.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
That's a bummer. This person admits, today I fell going
down the stairs and I hit my head on the wall.
My parents came frantically running in to buy my side,
but only to make sure the wall was okay.
Speaker 7 (29:02):
Aww. Of course. Did you put a hole in the wall?
Speaker 6 (29:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
This person admits, Today I was at the grocery store
buying ice cream after the tragedy of losing my grandma.
When I got to the cash register, the cashier saw
the sadness in my eyes and said, It's okay. You'll
find someone one day, one that can look at your
inner beauty and not care about the rest. What?
Speaker 1 (29:25):
He thought I had just gotten broken up with.
Speaker 6 (29:26):
That is so rude.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
You can't say something like that. What's wrong, honey? Are
you okay? You can say stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
You can't just jump right to the breakup.
Speaker 6 (29:37):
Yeah, maybe you're ugly, but you'll find someone.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
You'll find someone.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
There's someone out there for everyone. Even a troll like you.
Speaker 6 (29:44):
Gollum.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
This person missed. Today, I woke up to my kids
shaking me, saying, Get up!
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Santa was here! Santa was here!
Speaker 2 (29:53):
I got up to find my TV, computer, and MacBook
Air all stolen.
Speaker 5 (29:58):
Whoops.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
They don't know that sometimes Santa can give or take.
Speaker 6 (30:04):
Yeah, right. That was bad Santa.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
It was bad Santa, right. Oh, excuse me.
Speaker 7 (30:12):
La, la, la, la, la.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Okay, better. This person admits, today I got home from
work and found my dog missing. When I asked my
neighbor if she saw what happened, I saw my dog
sleeping on her couch. She tried to say it was hers. What?
Speaker 1 (30:26):
What?
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Just tried to straight up steal the dog.
Speaker 6 (30:28):
Why doesn't something like that happen to me? Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (30:33):
I'm just kidding.
Speaker 5 (30:33):
You said it was on her couch?
Speaker 2 (30:34):
On her couch.
Speaker 5 (30:35):
Her possession is nine-tenths of the law.
Speaker 6 (30:36):
I mean.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
What if he won't come to you?
Speaker 2 (30:39):
Yeah, how do you prove? Yeah, like, I hope you
have pictures on your phone of you and your dog. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Because otherwise, yeah, what do you do?
Speaker 2 (30:45):
You call.
Speaker 5 (30:46):
Especially if he won't come to you.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
Call the police. Right. Yeah, just all happy on the couch.
Speaker 5 (30:51):
Goes and hides behind her.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
Yeah, be like, no, I'm staying here.
Speaker 6 (30:54):
Long ago, Charlie lived in this apartment complex on the
north side, and his neighbor's cat would always come to
his door or to the window. So Charlie would let
it in and whatever.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Oh, really?
Speaker 4 (31:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
And then the neighbor came one day and said, could
you quit letting my cat into your apartment? He's like, oh, well,
excuse me.
Speaker 5 (31:12):
Did you tell your cat to stop knocking on my door?
Speaker 6 (31:15):
How about keeping your cat inside your own apartment?
Speaker 1 (31:19):
This person admits.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Today, I was at work when a customer who was
going to pay for her groceries started sorting through her money.
She put some coins in her mouth, seemed to suck
on them for a while, and then gave them to me. What? Nope. Nope.
Give me new money. I am not taking that money.
Speaker 5 (31:37):
What is that?
Speaker 2 (31:38):
There is no way I'm taking money out of your
mouth that you just had. No.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
You are not right.
Speaker 7 (31:46):
No.
Speaker 6 (31:48):
There must be some type of an iron deficiency or something.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Yeah, right?
Speaker 6 (31:51):
It's like when kids eat paint. There's some type of
nutritional deficiency.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
You can only afford your groceries or your low iron medicine.
So you figure before you hand it over the money,
you're just going to get every bit of iron you can.
Suck on that with those bad boys. Finally, this person admits, today,
I finally got to go see the professional photographer.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
I finally got to see the professional photographs taken at
the wedding I recently attended. I can't find a single
picture of myself that I like.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
I was the bride.
Speaker 6 (32:25):
Oh, no.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
That's rough.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
That's rough.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
You're probably being too hard on yourself.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Probably.
Speaker 6 (32:32):
I bet everyone else thinks they're beautiful.
Speaker 7 (32:33):
Right.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (32:36):
Have you ever seen a picture of yourself and you're like,
is this what I look like?
Speaker 2 (32:41):
100%.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
I've got two of them.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
One of them was my senior yearbook picture, and I
literally cut it out of my senior yearbook. The senior
yearbook I own, I cut my own picture out.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
I hated it so much.
Speaker 5 (32:53):
I wouldn't mind doing that at all.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
I swear to God, I look like E.T.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
Yeah, I hate mine, too.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Because I had short hair, and for some reason, I
had this super long neck. I don't know if I
was sitting up straight. But, yeah, it was Inspector Gadget,
Go-Go Gadget neck. It just stretched for some reason. So
I cut that out.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
And then.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
The only picture I personally have of me and Lin-Manuel
Miranda was at the Tony Awards party for Hamilton, and
I was doing a selfie, and my head is like,
I'm like, like my head is tilted sideways, and I
have this horrible smile.
Speaker 6 (33:31):
The one time you need a good picture of yourself.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Oh.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
Because I'd be splashing that everywhere.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
It's the worst.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
I can't.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
Congratulations, Lin.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Enjoy your Tony Award.
Speaker 6 (33:45):
Did he turn to you and say, don't worry. Somebody
out there will love you.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Amanda, I appreciate you. Oh, the worst.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
He put his arm around your brother and said it
was so nice of you to bring your brother along
with you. Are there any special accommodations you need?
Speaker 1 (34:00):
How much longer do you have?
Speaker 2 (34:02):
I know it's going to be soon. You're such a
good brother for bringing him here on his special, special day.
Speaker 7 (34:11):
Don't worry.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
We're not going to give him a full fork. He'll
get a spork, but that's about as far as we'll go.
We don't need to lose him any quicker than he's
about to go.
Speaker 6 (34:24):
Now, did you bring his helmet?
Speaker 2 (34:26):
It was so nice he took the helmet off for
the picture. Yeah. I'm so happy you got to get
that one time. I felt a soft spot in the
back of his head when I put my arm around him. Anyways,
if you're looking to kill some time, go visit F
My Life today.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
All right.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
Got to get into some medical news here. A story
came across my desk I have to share with you because...
Remember your last trip to the ER, Kelly?
Speaker 5 (35:00):
I do.
Speaker 6 (35:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (35:02):
For myself?
Speaker 2 (35:03):
For yourself.
Speaker 6 (35:04):
Yeah, I do.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
What happened, if you.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
Don't mind me asking?
Speaker 6 (35:07):
I don't mind you asking at all. I thought I
was having a heart attack. I was having all the
symptoms of a heart attack.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (35:13):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (35:13):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
That's a good reason to go to the ER for sure.
Speaker 5 (35:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
EKG, a couple tests.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (35:19):
Got it all done. Blood work to see if there
were any cardiac markers. Everything was fine. It was just...
Esophageal spasms, which is exactly what Urban Meyer had in
Florida when he ended up quitting. You remember the scene
of him bending over?
Speaker 1 (35:34):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (35:35):
It mimics a heart attack, the symptoms, but it's not,
thank God.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Interesting.
Speaker 6 (35:40):
But yes, it was extremely scary. I thought that was
it for me.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
I wonder if that's what I had last November in
New York when Nora and I went to dinner and
I was like almost keeled over at the table. It
couldn't have been acid reflux. I've never had acid reflux,
but I'm pretty sure it wasn't acid reflux, but right
in the center of my chest, it had this terrible pain.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
Yeah, that's interesting.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (36:00):
Yeah, it was really weird. It was like a giant, like,
punch to the chest. And then, I mean, I started sweating.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Oh.
Speaker 6 (36:07):
Yeah, it was very freaky.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
That is a definite reason to go to the ER. Thick,
do you remember the last time you were in the ER?
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
What happened?
Speaker 5 (36:14):
Fish hook.
Speaker 6 (36:16):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Embedded.
Speaker 5 (36:17):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Yeah. So that was a pure accident. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
That happened.
Speaker 5 (36:23):
Yeah, trying to get a hook out of a fish's mouth.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
Out of nowhere.
Speaker 5 (36:25):
He flipped and... Went right deep.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
Had to go.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
You didn't wait any time.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
You're like, I got to go get this taken care of.
Speaker 5 (36:33):
Yeah, well, I was trying to pull on it. I
was like, I was going to pass out. I mean,
it was that deep.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Yeah, I believe it.
Speaker 7 (36:38):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (36:41):
So we cut it off, and I'm driving the boat
with this in my finger. And we still got fish
in the live well. Go, get it out, back to.
Speaker 5 (36:47):
The lake, back on the water.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Back in the water, absolutely.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
Well, I asked because there was a 55-year-old man in Bangladesh,
and he just went to the emergency room. He had
severe abdominal pain, and it had begun five hours prior
to his visit. He kind of sat on it for
a little bit and was like, ah, I don't know
if I really... really have to go to the ER
quite yet. But finally gave in. You get some severe
(37:14):
abdominal pain. That's not something to mess with. Lots of
punctures and things that can happen there. You don't want
your stomach acid spilling out. You don't want a blown appendix.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
No.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
You don't want like a tear in your bowels and
then you've got waste. It happens. It happens.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
However, this man had none of that.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
While during the investigation, they found that his blood pressure
was normal. His heartbeat was slightly elevated. But all in all,
not too bad. So they started doing a little touch feel.
And they felt very rigid stomach area. Very hard. Very solid.
So they knew something was up. And took an x-ray.
Come to find out that the man had an eel
(38:00):
in his area. And then the man explained, yeah, a
day earlier, an eel accidentally entered my rectum.
Speaker 5 (38:08):
Accidentally.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
Apparently, he was wearing a lungi at the time, a
type of long skirt often worn by Bangladesh men. And
he explained that the eel entered his lungi through the
opening at the bottom and wiggled his way into his
anal canal. He didn't seek medical attention immediately after it happened.
He had hoped that the eel would exit on its own.
But a day later.
Speaker 6 (38:30):
It's tough to back out when you head in. You know,
a lot of times it's tough to get that back out.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
It is.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
Yeah, I don't know. That's a good question.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
I don't know if eels have the ability to swim backwards.
Speaker 6 (38:42):
He should have backed in. That was the issue.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Right, exactly.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
You can be like those a-holes at the mall that
trip back into a parking spot.
Speaker 6 (38:50):
Back into the cavity, then it's an easy out.
Speaker 2 (38:55):
Tail into the tail hole, basically. You back that bad
boy up and wiggle right in. Get nice and snug
until you're ready to leave. Inflammation of a membrane called
the peritoneum, which covers the abdominal organs. It was kind
of all wrapped up in that area. Had caused severe periodontitis.
Speaker 5 (39:18):
It's very different than a gerbil.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
It is a little different than a gerbil.
Speaker 6 (39:21):
Is it thick health?
Speaker 5 (39:22):
Well, it's much longer and slimy.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
It is.
Speaker 6 (39:26):
You should be charged with animal eel abuse, too, because
that was probably a terrible thing. death for that thing.
Speaker 5 (39:32):
Yeah, but he just did it on his own. He
snuck in there, right?
Speaker 1 (39:36):
It was an accident.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
The eel accidentally worked his way in. It could lead
to life-threatening infection. However, they administered IV antibiotics as well
as fluids and anti-ulcer medications with help repair the injuries
to the inside of his stomach. And, yeah, he's going
to be okay. No word on the eel, I have
(39:58):
to assume. The eel is dead. We do know that
the eel measured 2.2 feet long.
Speaker 6 (40:04):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
And was still alive. Oh, so it's a happy ending.
Speaker 1 (40:10):
It's a happy ending.
Speaker 7 (40:11):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
It was really bad when they finally got the eel out,
and you know how you get a wet dog, the
eel just kind of shook, and then poo just flew
all over the emergency room.
Speaker 5 (40:22):
We live in a strange world.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
We do live in a strange, strange world. Try and
don't have any eels accidentally work its way up your
anal cavity, okay? Thank you. It's the morning blitz. It's time.
Rock and rumble. Kelly versus Goose on The Blitz. Hey,
(40:47):
maybe you showed up to work and you're like, darn it,
I forgot my lunch. Or maybe you've got a very
busy night or weekend planned and you want to take
a weight off your shoulder and maybe you want dinner
covered that you don't have to worry about it. Well,
we got some Skyline Chili gift cards. We'll take care
of that for you. We'll hook you up so you
can either get yourself some lunch or maybe the easy
dinner this weekend or something. You're out and about running errands.
Got to grab some food. We'll get you covered. 800-821-9970.
(41:10):
Your chance to win right now. Kelly and I are
going to go head-to-head in a rumble. If you want
to get your hands on a Skyline Chili gift card,
we'll get you hooked up right now.
Speaker 7 (41:19):
800-821-9970.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
Let's get ourselves a couple contestants. Blitz, hi, who's this? Chris. Chris.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
All right, Chris, you called in first.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
Your choice. You want to be paired with Kelly or Goose?
Speaker 3 (41:31):
Let's try Goose.
Speaker 7 (41:33):
You're on a roll.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
I am on a roll.
Speaker 7 (41:36):
You are correct, Chris.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
All right, hang on one second, Chris. Let's get a
competitor here. Blitz, hi, who's this? Good morning, it's Randa.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
Randa, how are you this morning?
Speaker 6 (41:46):
Randa.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Randa, I'm sorry, Randa. Hi, Randa, how are you?
Speaker 7 (41:51):
I'm great, how are you guys?
Speaker 1 (41:52):
Excellent, thank you.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
Randa, you called in a second, so you're going to
be with Kelly this morning, okay? Excellent. My choice anyway.
Speaker 7 (41:58):
Let's go, girl.
Speaker 5 (41:59):
All right.
Speaker 1 (42:01):
All right.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
Chris, Randa, you guys hang on while Kelly and I
go head-to-head. Thick, what is today's category?
Speaker 5 (42:07):
Oh, something we haven't done for a while. A little
Think Fast.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
Oh, okay. Think Fast.
Speaker 5 (42:12):
Did you see Kelly's face?
Speaker 6 (42:15):
Only because you both know I can't think fast. It's
impossible for me to think fast. Enjoy your win.
Speaker 7 (42:19):
You've won the last few rounds.
Speaker 1 (42:20):
You've won the last.
Speaker 6 (42:21):
Few rounds of Think Fast.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
Yes. No.
Speaker 6 (42:24):
I've won our little music trivia or whatever.
Speaker 5 (42:28):
Speed test.
Speaker 6 (42:28):
Speed test. I can win that.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (42:31):
I can't win this.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
You can?
Speaker 1 (42:32):
You didn't last time. You sucked yesterday.
Speaker 6 (42:33):
Oh, my gosh. I really, really. That was just right
as a toilet performance.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
Straight poop to sheets. Okay.
Speaker 6 (42:42):
I'm ready for a comeback. Let me see if I
can do this.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
There we go. I got it. Oh, boy.
Speaker 6 (42:49):
All right.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
Yell out the answer.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
Think fast. Here we go.
Speaker 5 (42:52):
All right.
Speaker 8 (42:53):
So we're winding down summer here, and this is a
summer category. I will give you something and tell you
the letter it needs to start with.
Speaker 1 (43:01):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (43:02):
It's all summer related. Name a food people grill that
starts with the letter B.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
Brats.
Speaker 5 (43:09):
Nice, Kelly. Good job.
Speaker 6 (43:11):
Did you give me that one?
Speaker 2 (43:12):
No.
Speaker 5 (43:13):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (43:14):
I was going to go with broccoli, like charred broccoli.
Brats is a much better answer.
Speaker 5 (43:18):
Kelly, you suck at this game.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
I do. I do.
Speaker 5 (43:22):
Name something you bring to the beach starting with the
letter R.
Speaker 2 (43:26):
Rope.
Speaker 5 (43:29):
Rope.
Speaker 2 (43:30):
To hold your canopy up. Yeah, to hold your canopy up. No.
You put the stakes in the ground. Right?
Speaker 1 (43:34):
You bring rice?
Speaker 2 (43:35):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (43:36):
You bring rice. I bring for lunch.
Speaker 5 (43:37):
I'm not giving you either one of them. Keep going.
Speaker 6 (43:40):
Okay, raft. Yes, thank you.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
I think rope is a sufficient answer.
Speaker 6 (43:46):
You bring rope to the beach?
Speaker 8 (43:47):
I've never taken rope to a beach in my life.
Speaker 6 (43:49):
You planted a lasso, a fine fair lady?
Speaker 5 (43:52):
Unless it was one of those rafts that had a
rope attached to it.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
No, you've got to keep your tent from moving.
Speaker 5 (43:57):
Your tent?
Speaker 6 (43:58):
You're bringing a tent?
Speaker 1 (43:59):
To the beach?
Speaker 2 (44:00):
Hell yeah. You see how pale my ass is? I'm
not sitting on the sun for six hours.
Speaker 5 (44:05):
Why go to the beach?
Speaker 1 (44:06):
I don't want to.
Speaker 2 (44:07):
Because Kelly and the boys want to go. Can't go.
I don't have a rope.
Speaker 6 (44:15):
Well, we were going to go to the beach, but
somebody forgot to buy a rope.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
You take me to the beach. I know what I
want to do with that rope. I hate it there.
All that stupid sand just gets everywhere.
Speaker 5 (44:26):
All right.
Speaker 8 (44:29):
Name any summer blockbuster movie starting with the letter I.
Speaker 6 (44:33):
Independence Day.
Speaker 5 (44:34):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 6 (44:35):
I had that one on deck. I was ready to
go halfway through that question.
Speaker 2 (44:39):
Funny enough, that's literally the one I thought of, and
you just, yeah. Wow.
Speaker 5 (44:45):
All right.
Speaker 6 (44:47):
Let's just call it.
Speaker 5 (44:49):
That's the round. You won the round.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (44:51):
All right.
Speaker 5 (44:52):
Next category is the synonym category. I will give you
a word.
Speaker 4 (44:57):
Synonym.
Speaker 2 (44:57):
Synonym.
Speaker 5 (44:57):
Synonym.
Speaker 1 (45:01):
I'll give you a word.
Speaker 5 (45:02):
You give me a synonym for the word.
Speaker 6 (45:04):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
Ready?
Speaker 6 (45:06):
Yes. Love.
Speaker 2 (45:07):
Hate.
Speaker 6 (45:07):
Kindness.
Speaker 2 (45:08):
What? Love.
Speaker 6 (45:10):
Affection. Thank you.
Speaker 5 (45:13):
Not an antonym. A synonym.
Speaker 6 (45:15):
A synonym.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
Okay. Well, I went to Detroit Public Schools, so you
need to stop your 75 cent words.
Speaker 5 (45:21):
I went to Grove City. I understand.
Speaker 6 (45:22):
All right.
Speaker 5 (45:23):
Next word.
Speaker 2 (45:26):
Evil. Dumb. Bad.
Speaker 5 (45:26):
Bad.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
I'm just yelling out anything I can right now. The
first word that comes to mind, I'm yelling out.
Speaker 5 (45:34):
Are you letting her win? No!
Speaker 2 (45:37):
My brain is not functioning this morning. All right.
Speaker 5 (45:40):
Here's the next one. Energized.
Speaker 2 (45:43):
Energetic.
Speaker 1 (45:44):
That makes no sense.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
Energy.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
You're up. High.
Speaker 2 (45:52):
Uh-oh. Coked out. No.
Speaker 5 (45:53):
Okay. That's energized.
Speaker 2 (45:55):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (45:56):
All right. I was looking for like revived, invigorated, but
coked out?
Speaker 1 (46:00):
That all is a cinnamon for coked out.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
God. It's not going well.
Speaker 5 (46:09):
Poor Detroit school.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
Yes. Oh, it's not good.
Speaker 5 (46:14):
All right. So you got one, Goose.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
All right.
Speaker 5 (46:16):
Synonym for confident. Assured.
Speaker 6 (46:20):
Assured yourself.
Speaker 2 (46:21):
Assured.
Speaker 7 (46:22):
Assured.
Speaker 2 (46:23):
Assured.
Speaker 6 (46:23):
I'm assuredly sure.
Speaker 5 (46:24):
Yay!
Speaker 6 (46:24):
We're going to get to the third category.
Speaker 2 (46:28):
I don't know. Is she like sandbagging now? Yeah, 100%.
Speaker 6 (46:30):
I like to start every game out with a major complaint.
Speaker 2 (46:33):
Right?
Speaker 7 (46:34):
Yes, you do.
Speaker 2 (46:48):
I need to bitch real quick before we get started.
I understand what's happening, but not until I air my grievances.
Speaker 6 (46:56):
All right.
Speaker 2 (46:59):
Ronda, congratulations. Randa, we're going to get you hooked up. See,
that's how bad I am today. I can't even get
names right that I've written down right in front of me. Randa, congratulations. Chris,
I'm not going to let my stupidity hold you back
from getting the delicious chili.
Speaker 5 (47:15):
It's not your fault. It's Detroit schools.
Speaker 2 (47:18):
I don't know. You should have went to Columbus.
Speaker 1 (47:20):
I should have. You're right. I'm done with this.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Goodbye. Hang on.
Speaker 6 (47:23):
Did he say you should have went to Columbus? That
about describes it right there.
Speaker 2 (47:29):
You guys hang out.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
We'll get you hooked up.
Speaker 7 (47:32):
And now, the three things you need to know before
you go.
Speaker 6 (47:35):
How about O'Charlie's abruptly closing all of its restaurants yesterday nationwide? Yeah,
I guess they informed their employees only on Tuesday that
they were going to be out of work at 8 p.m.
on Wednesday. And yesterday at 8 p.m., indeed, they closed
every O'Charlie's in the nation, including the ones in Reynoldsburg, Canal, Winchester,
(47:57):
and Mansfield.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
Now wait, is that the little sports bar place or
the Philly cheesesteak place? I got it mixed up.
Speaker 5 (48:03):
It's really a cheesesteak place, I believe.
Speaker 6 (48:04):
Oh, no, it's the.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
Yeah, it's... A little sports bar.
Speaker 6 (48:06):
Yeah, kind of like an Applebee's.
Speaker 2 (48:07):
Right, yeah. Okay, yeah.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
Because then there's Charlie's Cheesesteak.
Speaker 6 (48:10):
Charlie's Cheesesteak.
Speaker 5 (48:11):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 6 (48:13):
That was a mall cheesesteak place.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
Yes, it was.
Speaker 5 (48:15):
It was good. It wasn't bad.
Speaker 6 (48:16):
That was pretty good.
Speaker 2 (48:16):
The only downside with them is you had to get extra...
Because there was so much. They didn't give you enough
stuff for the bread. The bread to Philly cheesesteak ratio
was way off. So you had to get the double.
Speaker 1 (48:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (48:27):
Anyways, O'Charlie's.
Speaker 6 (48:28):
They already closed a bunch of O'Charlie's. They mowed down
an O'Charlie's building not that long ago on Cleveland Avenue,
right by the Home Depot there.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
I know I've been, but I can't tell you the
last time.
Speaker 6 (48:40):
I was at an O'Charlie's. I'll tell you if... Nothing
to write home about. Nothing to write home about.
Speaker 1 (48:45):
That explains us.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
I agree.
Speaker 6 (48:47):
But anyway, like I said, employees were not notified until Tuesday. Oh,
Charlie's has disabled its corporate social media accounts and has
not released a public statement on the closures. It's just bye-bye.
Speaker 1 (48:58):
Was it privately owned?
Speaker 6 (48:59):
Oh, I don't know. I'm assuming it was a single.
I don't know if it was franchised.
Speaker 2 (49:05):
Oh, Charlie's.
Speaker 6 (49:06):
That's a good question.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
Privately owned. Let's see here. A publicly traded company for
years being acquired by a private equity group.
Speaker 6 (49:16):
Oh, private equity. That's the death knell.
Speaker 2 (49:19):
Yeah, for many years.
Speaker 5 (49:20):
It's like Tuttle.
Speaker 2 (49:21):
Mall, right?
Speaker 6 (49:21):
Yes, it's exactly like Tuttle Mall.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
All right.
Speaker 6 (49:24):
The city of Reynoldsburg is ending its use of flock cameras.
The Reynoldsburg mayor says growing distrust of the license plate
readers contributed to his decision to end the city's flock contract.
Two Reynoldsburg police officers recently resigned after being accused of
misusing the system. Now, here, this next story may be
a case for flock cameras. A man was fatally hit
by an Amazon delivery van earlier this week in what
(49:46):
investigators are now calling a road rage incident up in
Marion County. The Marion County Sheriff's Office says it happened
Tuesday evening in Prospect. Now, there's video evidence from the
Amazon van's cameras that show that the driver, who is
identified only as a Columbus woman, had completed a package
delivery at a home. When the homeowner, the man who
(50:07):
lived there, 53 years old, drove up with his wife
and teenage son in the car. And there were some
type of brief altercation that took place with the Amazon
van in the man's driveway. And he pulled up behind.
So there were some yelling, some obscene gestures being made.
And then the delivery driver backed her van out of
the driveway and drove off. Well, the sheriff's office says
(50:30):
the man followed the Amazon delivery van. He ended up
crossing a double yellow center line, cut off the van.
The two vehicles collided. He stops and gets out of
his car and starts moving quickly toward the van. Well,
that woman driving the Amazon van, she backed up a
bit and then just moved forward and hit the man.
(50:53):
And he died at the scene. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
Yeah. But no audio or anything of what the altercation's about?
Speaker 6 (51:00):
No audio, as far as I know, unless they haven't,
you know, maybe there's something that's yet to be released
on this. But it sounds like, on its face, it
sounds like he was an aggressor and she might have
been afraid.
Speaker 1 (51:13):
Right, yeah.
Speaker 6 (51:13):
And so she used the only weapon she had, which
was her van.
Speaker 1 (51:16):
You gotta do what you gotta do.
Speaker 6 (51:18):
So I don't know. The whole story, you know, I'm
sure has not been released, but the delivery driver, she
remained at the scene. No charges have been filed yet.
The incident's still under investigation. They're even asking people, if
you are in the area, if you have any info,
if you have any video evidence, please contact the Marion
County Sheriff's Office so they can put that in with
their investigation. Those are your three things.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
I know we kind of talked about this before, but
it has rekindled on the World Wide Web because if
I get out of the shower and I just grab
a towel that's on the back of the door, there
is a chance that yesterday, or maybe even earlier that day,
or whatever, if I take a nighttime shower, there's a
(52:01):
chance that Nora's used that towel to dry off. Doesn't
bother me one bit. But someone jumped on air, or
jumped online, and was very mad, and kind of in
a disagreement with their husband right now, because after she
uses the bathroom, she washes her hands, as she should,
and she dries it on her husband's bath towel. Like,
(52:23):
there's not, like, a hand towel hanging in the bathroom,
or if there is, she doesn't use it.
Speaker 1 (52:27):
She just goes right for the big towel and dries
her hands off.
Speaker 2 (52:31):
And people are online, and there's kind of a split
decision right now. And I don't understand why.
Speaker 5 (52:38):
This is what we're fighting about?
Speaker 2 (52:40):
Yeah, I don't understand. And there are people on both
sides that are, well... The people that don't care are very, yeah,
what's the big deal?
Speaker 1 (52:48):
I don't get it. But the people that are against
it are very against it.
Speaker 5 (52:51):
I mean, our hands are clean.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
That's what I thought. But that's also the same mentality
I have about, like, drying off after the shower. You
got out of the shower, you're a clean body that
you just washed. So if the towel, you know, yes,
if the towel is mildewy like we talked about, that's
a different story. But if it's just a day-used towel,
not that big of a deal.
Speaker 1 (53:12):
Are you grossed out by.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
If Charlie was drying his hands on your bath towel?
Speaker 6 (53:17):
The only thing I guess I think of, and we
have two separate towels. We pull from the same batch
of clean towels, but he'll be using his current towel
and I'll be using my current towel. And never the
twain shall meet. But if he wants to dry his
hands on my towel, I don't care at all. As
long as it's post-shower. It's like I don't want to
be grabbing a towel that's partially wet to dry off.
(53:41):
That would be my only thing that I would think
of if I were to dry my hands on his towel.
Has he already showered for the day? Are we just
drying the towel currently? Then I can wipe my hands
off on it. Okay.
Speaker 2 (53:51):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (53:53):
So if it's a completely dry towel?
Speaker 2 (53:57):
I won't.
Speaker 6 (53:57):
I'll use our hand towels.
Speaker 1 (53:58):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (53:59):
Right.
Speaker 6 (53:59):
Or I'll use my own towel to dry off my hands.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
But wouldn't gross you out?
Speaker 6 (54:03):
Not at all. I'm not grossed out by that.
Speaker 1 (54:07):
We're on the same mindset.
Speaker 5 (54:08):
I'm fine with it.
Speaker 1 (54:09):
Don't understand what the problem is.
Speaker 2 (54:10):
I'm really trying to rack my brain here and, you know,
trying to play devil's advocate. What do you think.
Speaker 6 (54:16):
About post-teeth brush and maybe you have some toothpaste around
your mouth and then you dry your mouth off? And
you got a little toothpaste on the towel.
Speaker 5 (54:25):
I do that.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (54:26):
I mean, I don't care about that either.
Speaker 1 (54:28):
That doesn't bother me one bit.
Speaker 5 (54:29):
Don't care.
Speaker 2 (54:29):
No? Yeah. That's the exact same.
Speaker 1 (54:31):
I'll give my mouth, like.
Speaker 2 (54:33):
I don't rinse my mouth out because I want it
to stay in there, which you're supposed to do, by
the way. But I do give a little scoop of
water because I have a beard and a mustache. And
I also happen to brush like a bulldog, so I've
usually got some action happening. So I'll give a little rinse,
and then I'll dry the rest off with a towel. Yeah,
it doesn't bother me one bit.
Speaker 6 (54:52):
No big deal.
Speaker 2 (54:53):
I don't understand. Yeah. All right, good.
Speaker 5 (54:55):
People are very concerned.
Speaker 2 (54:56):
Yeah, not a call, not a text, nothing.
Speaker 5 (54:58):
Nobody's upset.
Speaker 2 (54:58):
So the people that do get upset about that, you're...
You're wrong.
Speaker 6 (55:02):
What if you don't have any toilet paper and you
grab your partner's towel?
Speaker 1 (55:08):
I'm not saying I haven't.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
Well, I don't know. That isn't like a no toilet
paper situation. This is going to take an entire roll
of toilet paper, so I'm not wasting my time. I'm
just going to grab a warm washcloth or just get
in the shower. Sometimes.
Speaker 1 (55:24):
You just got to get in the shower.
Speaker 6 (55:26):
You definitely need a bidet. And I know you say
you don't like the bidet.
Speaker 1 (55:30):
I hate them.
Speaker 2 (55:30):
I never will.
Speaker 1 (55:31):
My bidet is getting in the shower.
Speaker 6 (55:32):
Yeah, I don't have one either, but they sound glorious
and I'm not against them. But then your experience has
made me think, well, is it just.
Speaker 2 (55:41):
I am really glad there are no cameras and I
hope there will never be any cameras in that situation
because the.
Speaker 1 (55:46):
Angle you have to take... From the shower head down.
Speaker 4 (55:51):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (55:51):
To get your back arched and to get that bad
boy back there for the proper angle, that's causing some
lower back strain. Oh, boy. The way you got to
get that thing.
Speaker 6 (56:01):
You got to do yoga before you get that done right.
Speaker 2 (56:03):
Yep. Yep. And then you're reaching around. And then you're
up on your tippy toes. Because you can only be
up on your tippy toes.
Speaker 1 (56:10):
To get it back there.
Speaker 6 (56:10):
Do you raw dog the bar of soap back there?
Or what do you do?
Speaker 2 (56:13):
No.
Speaker 5 (56:14):
Oh, God.
Speaker 2 (56:15):
No, I just give it the old bag of soap.
Speaker 1 (56:18):
Back and forth.
Speaker 2 (56:20):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (56:20):
Just with water?
Speaker 2 (56:21):
I'm also glad there's not cameras in here right now
because of the angle that I'm taking.
Speaker 6 (56:24):
Oh, yeah, he's really bending over. That's a nice stretch,
my man.
Speaker 2 (56:27):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 6 (56:27):
Nice stretch.
Speaker 8 (56:28):
Do we want to hear when Goose sat on his
first bidet?
Speaker 2 (56:31):
Oh, you got it? Yeah, that's my first.
Speaker 7 (56:34):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 2 (56:44):
I'm pretty sure the bidet was going off in like
a shooting mode. That's why my voice is like that. Yeah,
the pulsating mode. Yeah, the pulsating mode.
Speaker 5 (56:56):
No.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
That's every little tap of the center of my b-hole.
That's why it's called a bidet because it's got that
pulled up bidet.
Speaker 1 (57:07):
Do I want to use the bidet? No, I don't.
Speaker 2 (57:14):
No, thank you.
Speaker 5 (57:15):
All right. Anyways, moving on.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
Not so breaking news. The news already broke. We're trying
to put it back together.
Speaker 2 (57:25):
All right. We've got some governments doing some stupid things
that they probably shouldn't be doing. I mean, come on now.
You're the government. What are you up to? First story
coming out of Denver. Denver city officials just had to
back out of a plan for tomorrow because someone there
(57:47):
thought it'd be a good idea to take a passenger
747 taking off from DIA. Fly it at a very
low altitude. And then have it trailed by four F-16s
as a remembrance for 9-11. To pay tribute to 9-11.
(58:11):
To give an air salute, I guess, to 9-11. And
then someone stepped forward and said, hey, don't you think...
If you're in the city on 9-11 and you look
up and you see a low-flying 747 being followed by
four military jets, you're probably going to freak people out
(58:33):
because not everyone's going to know, hey, look, they're paying
tribute to the 25th anniversary of 9-11. They tried to
get the word out. They did put out press conferences,
I'm sorry, press releases to the news, but After a
little thinking, they were like, yeah, not enough people know
about this, and this is.
Speaker 1 (58:52):
Going to end very poorly.
Speaker 2 (58:54):
Like, basically, you're going to just overwhelm 911.
Speaker 6 (58:56):
Yeah, can you imagine having a real emergency during that
time when you can't get through 911 because everyone's calling
on this plane?
Speaker 2 (59:04):
You know everyone would be calling 911. So city officials
stepped up and said, yeah, we're going to. we're going
to nix that idea. We're not going to do that.
Speaker 1 (59:12):
Good idea.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
And that was, yeah, probably a good idea to completely
nix that. Story number two takes us to the state
up north here. We're talking about Michigan, where a whole
bunch of people had applied for a renewed or enhanced
driver's license. You know, they've got those new enhanced driver's license.
In fact, if you plan on doing any flying, you
now have to have it. an enhanced driver's license or
(59:35):
fill out an extra form and that kind of stuff.
So there are a lot of people now that are, uh,
applying for those, or maybe it's just your time.
Speaker 1 (59:42):
Your license has expired. So you need to renew and
you can.
Speaker 2 (59:44):
Do that by mail or you go in and then
they mail you your new license. Well, I did not
know this, but a lot of governments will use third
parties to actually make the license themselves. They get the information,
they get the picture in this third party company and
prints the IDs and mails them out. Well, Idemia is
(01:00:05):
the company that Michigan Secretary of State uses.
Speaker 1 (01:00:08):
And unfortunately, there was an issue.
Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
They sent out 8,200 licenses to people that had renewed
or asked for the enhanced driver's license. The problem is
there was a huge misprint. And basically what they did
was they sent stock driver's license. So you know how
when you go to the store and you buy a
picture frame and it's usually got the.
Speaker 6 (01:00:30):
Yeah, a little family.
Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
Yeah, that picture. This is a license that had an
African-American woman's face, a generic address. The name was Ann
Carr Driver. C-A-R-R was the middle name. Driver was the
last name. It was just your basic generic license. That
(01:00:50):
got sent out to 8,200 people.
Speaker 6 (01:00:53):
As their real license.
Speaker 2 (01:00:54):
As their real license, yeah. Complete misprint, complete miscommunication. So
now they're like, yeah, sorry about that. And to make
matters worse, the people that already went to the Secretary
of State to fill out the paperwork, to take their
new picture, to do all the things you've got to do,
including taking your deli number and waiting God knows.
Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
How long, now have to go back.
Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
Because the only way to correct the problem is for
them to go through the whole thing again.
Speaker 6 (01:01:20):
The one I saw on TikTok, the girl, her picture
was on it, but then the little picture at the
bottom right, the security picture, was the picture of this
other person. Okay. So it was her picture, but then
all the generic information, and then the other picture at
the bottom. It was the oddest thing to look at.
Speaker 1 (01:01:39):
That would be weird for sure. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
So now all these 8,200 people have to go back
to the Secretary of State, which, if you know, that's
the worst part about the whole thing. Just going to
sit there and just wait. I know they do online
appointments now and stuff, but you're still waiting. Even when
you show up for your scheduled time, you're still waiting.
And I can't think of a much worse place to
sit there. In a chair, besides maybe the dentist's office,
(01:02:04):
knowing about what's going to happen. Actually, that's the breaking news,
997 The Blitz. It was the week before last, I think.
We were a couple weeks into the school year, and
we pulled out a popular little conversation. Who's in trouble
already at school? And we were only like a week
into the school year. But now, a different school-related question,
(01:02:25):
now that we're about a month in or so.
Speaker 1 (01:02:27):
Not quite.
Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
Three weeks, whatever. I want to know, have you seen
any school bus stop drama yet? Because I came across
a community page, and there's already an online fight about
the school bus stop. Because, again, we talked about this
a little bit yesterday. I see so many cars and
stuff sitting at the school bus stop. We're at the
(01:02:49):
front of our side street before you get into our complex.
There's always like three, four, five, six cars. And I'm like,
what are you doing? Let them walk. Let them walk
home from the bus stop. What is the problem?
Speaker 6 (01:03:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
Apparently I'm not the only one that feels that way.
Speaker 6 (01:03:04):
Nothing like a good next door fight.
Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:03:06):
Oh, I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:03:07):
So I pulled up this transcript. This was a comment
section off of a school bus stop.
Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
And I figured we can go through this.
Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
Today in school bus stop shenanigans soap opera, I'll be
playing the part of Gary. Kelly, you're going to be Melissa.
Speaker 5 (01:03:24):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
And Thick, you're going to be Nick.
Speaker 5 (01:03:27):
Nick.
Speaker 1 (01:03:27):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (01:03:28):
I'm Nick.
Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
This is literally verbatim reading down the comments section of
this bus stop drama. Thick Nick.
Speaker 1 (01:03:35):
Thick Nick.
Speaker 3 (01:03:36):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
I'd like to congratulate everyone who turned our neighborhood school
bus stop into a morning tailgate. At 6.45 today, there
were folding chairs, travel mugs, three dogs, and a wagon
full of snacks. The kids are going to school, not
storming the beach in Normandy.
Speaker 6 (01:03:51):
Some of us enjoy watching our children safely get on
the bus. Sorry my concern for human life interferes with
your sacred tradition of standing inside your house and peeking
through the blinds like a parole officer.
Speaker 8 (01:04:03):
I don't even have kids, but I come down every
morning because your bus stop has better drama than television. Yesterday,
two moms nearly fought. over whose SUV was blocking the mailbox.
I brought coffee today in case there was a rematch.
Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
The problem is nobody lets kids do anything alone anymore.
When I was eight, I walked six blocks to school
carrying a lunchbox made of metal. If you got hit
by a car, the lunchbox survived and your younger brother
inherited it.
Speaker 6 (01:04:26):
Yes, Gary, we've all heard how your generation was raised
by garden hoses and emotional neglect. Somehow that doesn't make
it wise to send a seven-year-old alone into the darkness
wearing a black hoodie while half the neighborhood is backing
out of driveways.
Speaker 8 (01:04:40):
I was impressed by the one dad wearing a reflective
safety vest and holding a flashlight wand. Looked like he
was guiding a 737 to gate 12.
Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
And why does every kid need an adult escort? The
bus stop is 70 yards from their houses.
Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
Some parents drive there.
Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
You can see their front door from the car.
Speaker 6 (01:04:57):
Maybe, Gary, they drive because it's cold, raining, or the
children have heavy backpacks. My daughter's backpack weighs 30 pounds.
I opened it yesterday and found four textbooks, a laptop,
gym shoes, and enough charging cables to jumpstart a Buick.
Speaker 2 (01:05:12):
Fine, driver, but please stop parking in front of my driveway.
Last Tuesday, I was trapped for 12 minutes because somebody's
minivan was positioned sideways with the hazard lights on. Hazard
lights don't make illegal parking legal!
Speaker 8 (01:05:24):
Yeah, hazard lights are the universal symbol for my needs
are temporarily more important than civilization. You can stop anywhere
once those lights are blinking. Fire lane, sidewalk, operating room.
Speaker 5 (01:05:34):
Doesn't matter.
Speaker 8 (01:05:34):
They grant diplomatic immunity.
Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
Uh... Can we discuss the parents who stay after the
bus leaves? Your children are gone. The mission is complete.
But some of you stand there gossiping for another 40
minutes while holding empty coffee cups like you're hosting a
neighborhood podcast nobody's subscribed to.
Speaker 5 (01:05:50):
That's why I attend.
Speaker 8 (01:05:52):
I now know which couple is separating, who installed an
illegal shed, and whose teenager backed into the decorative mailbox.
Speaker 5 (01:05:58):
The bus stop is basically Facebook with weather.
Speaker 6 (01:06:01):
Maybe adults need the social interaction. People barely know their
neighbors anymore. The bus stop gives parents a chance to talk, connect,
and look out for one another.
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
Then organize a.
Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
Cookout at normal hours. Don't build a community around blocking
traffic while children scream and somebody's toddler licks condensation off
a recycling bin.
Speaker 8 (01:06:22):
I support the bus stop gathering, but it needs regulations,
designated parking, a two-drink coffee maximum, and no political conversations.
Nobody should have to debate federal spending while holding a
granola bar and wearing pajama pants.
Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
I propose a simpler rule. Kids over 10 walk to
the school bus stop alone. Parents stay home. Dogs stay home.
SUVs stay home. Anyone who wants to socialize can join
a bowling league or start drinking earlier.
Speaker 6 (01:06:44):
Absolutely not, Gary. I'm going with my daughter until she
asks me to stop.
Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
She asked you to stop last year.
Speaker 6 (01:06:50):
She was emotional.
Speaker 8 (01:06:52):
I heard she submitted the request in writing and had
two classmates witness it.
Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
I say we move the bus stop to the end
of Melissa's driveway. That way she can surprise everyone from
her porch. Dave can escape his garage and Nick can
finally stop pretending he's there for anything other than neighborhood gossip.
Speaker 8 (01:07:05):
I have never pretended. If anything, I've been quite transparent.
In fact, tomorrow I'm bringing a folding chair and a
breakfast sandwich. I heard the mailbox people are speaking again.
I must know what happens. And scene.
Speaker 6 (01:07:17):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
Yeah, I want to be a part of that neighborhood.
Speaker 2 (01:07:20):
Oh, my gosh. I would so be out there for that, 100%.
Speaker 5 (01:07:24):
I don't want to hang out with Melissa. She is
annoying as hell.
Speaker 2 (01:07:27):
Stop it, Gary.
Speaker 5 (01:07:29):
800-821-9970.
Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
Have you had any school bus stop drama yet? Doug
did say that he was picking up his daughter at
the bus stop, and they share a bus stop with
an apartment complex that's down the road. And there was
a guy standing five feet from them, straight up smoking
a huge joint, waiting to pick up his kid.
Speaker 1 (01:07:46):
And he said, look.
Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
I'm pro-marijuana.
Speaker 5 (01:07:50):
Yeah, what's the problem?
Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
But read the room, man.
Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
Picking up your kids at the bus stop? Probably shouldn't
be lighting up a fatty while you're standing there.
Speaker 5 (01:07:57):
Well, they're not there yet.
Speaker 2 (01:07:59):
Eh, okay.
Speaker 5 (01:08:00):
800-821-9970 is 99.7 The Blitz.
Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
Kelly, I'm going to give you a choice on a
Thursday morning.
Speaker 7 (01:08:08):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
Do you want to talk post-poop pounds or do you
want to talk the blind drunk driver?
Speaker 6 (01:08:16):
I want to talk post-poop pounds.
Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
All right, post-poop pounds.
Speaker 2 (01:08:19):
This is specific towards you and other members of your species, Kelly.
Speaker 6 (01:08:24):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
A lot of women are stepping up online and admitting
that they have weighed themselves pre- and post-poop before just
to see... what has happened if anything because i think
most of us have gotten up and told our significant
others man i just lost about four pounds yeah now
(01:08:47):
have you ever officially checked though i want to do
a informal survey right now 800-821-9970 i could really use
a panel of lovely women to call in. So we
can take this unofficial survey and find out if, because
I have the number here of how many, you know,
they kind of did an unofficial survey and found out
(01:09:09):
how many women admit to a pre and.
Speaker 1 (01:09:12):
Post poop way.
Speaker 6 (01:09:13):
Yeah, I need to know if there's a difference. I've
never done it.
Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
You've never done it?
Speaker 6 (01:09:16):
No, but I will only weigh myself if I'm feeling
particularly skinny that day and I don't have the stitch
of clothing on. I do not want anything else weighing
me down.
Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
I always weigh myself up. But naked.
Speaker 2 (01:09:29):
I don't want anything else on there.
Speaker 6 (01:09:33):
It has to be before breakfast. It's got to be
the first thing in the morning. The first thing you do.
Speaker 2 (01:09:38):
You want to be your skinniest skinniest. What if you
get up And you have a poop before you even
eat breakfast. That way you're your skinniest, skinniest, and you
just lost a little bit.
Speaker 6 (01:09:48):
That is a perfect scenario you've just described.
Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
That is the time to weigh yourself. Apparently we have
no women who want to join our panel.
Speaker 6 (01:09:54):
Well, I'd love to know, is there a difference in weight?
Do people report a difference in weight?
Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
I've never done it, I don't think. I think you're
saying yes for sure.
Speaker 5 (01:10:04):
I've done it a couple times. When I feel like
it's going to be a lot, I want to know.
Two pounds once.
Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (01:10:12):
Two pounds?
Speaker 5 (01:10:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:10:14):
You did it right before you sat down. You pooped
and got up, and you were two pounds lighter. It
could be 1.8, but that was still a lot. The
scale was two pounds lower.
Speaker 6 (01:10:23):
Did you feel lightheaded when you stood up?
Speaker 5 (01:10:25):
No, I felt wonderful.
Speaker 6 (01:10:28):
Good Lord.
Speaker 1 (01:10:29):
How stretched out was your b-hole?
Speaker 2 (01:10:31):
Two pounds.
Speaker 1 (01:10:32):
That's a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
I think that if you're losing two pounds, you're losing
some sphincter strength.
Speaker 1 (01:10:41):
Like, that is.
Speaker 6 (01:10:42):
Yeah, you need an extra stitch, as they say.
Speaker 1 (01:10:44):
Yeah, right.
Speaker 6 (01:10:48):
Oh, gosh.
Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
I think you're losing a couple spokes because you've stretched
it out so far.
Speaker 6 (01:10:53):
That had to be so satisfying to see that two-pound
weight loss, though.
Speaker 2 (01:10:56):
A couple of those are ironed out at that point.
A couple of those spokes are smooth.
Speaker 8 (01:11:03):
So I just looked it up.
Speaker 5 (01:11:05):
I asked, how much does the average bowel movement weigh?
It's like a half a pound. But that's for all people.
That's for all people, not just grown men. Maybe I
can do that.
Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
Two pounds.
Speaker 6 (01:11:18):
Is that post-hibachi? What are we talking here?
Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
That is impressive, man. That's good for you. All right, well,
since no women... Oh, Heather, your wife says she's lost
two pounds peeing before.
Speaker 5 (01:11:30):
Yeah, I believe that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:31):
That's fucking awesome.
Speaker 8 (01:11:32):
Probably like right when we got back from Michigan.
Speaker 1 (01:11:34):
That's so much.
Speaker 5 (01:11:36):
That is so much. That's a lot, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
You guys are backed up in your household. You guys
are holding on for too long. Yeah. Two pounds of
poop and two pounds of pee. You need more frequency.
Speaker 7 (01:11:47):
In your life.
Speaker 8 (01:11:48):
You know you can kind of feel when a big
one's coming, right?
Speaker 1 (01:11:52):
Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 5 (01:11:54):
I'm saying on average, I'm sure it's not. I know
it's not.
Speaker 8 (01:11:57):
But this couple particular times that I remember, yeah, it
had been a couple days.
Speaker 2 (01:12:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
You can hear your rectum like, hey.
Speaker 6 (01:12:07):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:12:07):
A little help, please? Can we get things moving? It's
getting really crowded in here. Can we use a little
extra space?
Speaker 8 (01:12:18):
Duck says, dude, my 10-year-old daughter has left some devastators
in the toilet.
Speaker 5 (01:12:23):
Kid takes some massive dumps. Why are you seeing them?
Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
It's dropping such bad.
Speaker 1 (01:12:29):
Big ones.
Speaker 2 (01:12:30):
What? That's terrible.
Speaker 1 (01:12:31):
All right, 800-821-9970. And now, the.
Speaker 7 (01:12:36):
Three things you need to know before you go.
Speaker 6 (01:12:39):
Someone accidentally deployed the emergency slide on Air Force One yesterday,
right before President Trump was set to board it and
head to the Republican Midterm Convention in Dallas to deliver
the keynote speech. Yeah, this huge inflatable slide was just
hanging right off the side of Air Force One. Reports
are that military personnel accidentally triggered the slide. So Donald Trump,
(01:13:00):
President Trump had to wait on Marine One while the
slide was pulled off the plane and hauled away on
the back of a pickup truck. And they had to
install a replacement. And then the plane took off for
Dallas and landed safely.
Speaker 1 (01:13:12):
So wait a minute.
Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
Do airports just have extra emergency slides hanging around that
they can... I guess.
Speaker 6 (01:13:19):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
And on top of that, I have to assume Air
Force One has a specially designed... Emergency slide. So do
they fly with one? Do they have backup parts for everything?
Speaker 6 (01:13:29):
It just seems like an ordeal.
Speaker 5 (01:13:30):
Yeah, it does.
Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:13:32):
We don't know what we're doing.
Speaker 6 (01:13:35):
Well, one year in prison for OnlyFans model Natalie Monroe
for refusing to pay a $ 1. 5 million tax bill on
her earnings from the site. Monroe's real name is Kylie Perez.
She earned about $ 5. 5 million from her adult-only content between
2019 and 2023. But the IRS figured out that she
lied on her tax forms. She lied about her income.
(01:13:56):
She was prosecuted. She pleaded guilty. Was sentenced to a
year behind bars just this August. And that'll be followed
by a year of supervised release. You cannot get away
with not paying your taxes. You can't. They always find you.
Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
I have to.
Speaker 4 (01:14:12):
Uh-oh.
Speaker 2 (01:14:13):
I've got to take care of that.
Speaker 5 (01:14:15):
Did somebody just get reminded of something?
Speaker 2 (01:14:17):
No, I know. I've known since April.
Speaker 5 (01:14:21):
That's been a minute.
Speaker 6 (01:14:22):
I think you're within the grace period.
Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
They've started to add on a little bit of interest
because I get the bill every month. They've started to
add on to it.
Speaker 6 (01:14:33):
Well, I mean, there's always OnlyFans.
Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
That's true. That's true.
Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
I mean, although I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
Worried about You know, no one wants to see my feet,
but at the same time, I've learned that people do.
Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
Want to see it.
Speaker 6 (01:14:47):
And they'll pay a monthly subscription fee.
Speaker 1 (01:14:49):
Even with that little bit of toe fun.
Speaker 6 (01:14:51):
That's why they're tuning in.
Speaker 5 (01:14:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
That little hairy top. Like I'm taking a hike to Mordor.
Ready to ruin the one ring to rule them all.
I'm sitting here with my hairy tops of my feet.
Speaker 6 (01:15:08):
Don't spoil all the content.
Speaker 2 (01:15:09):
That little.
Spoiler alert. What are they going to be paying for?
Them three little big knuckle toe hairs.
Speaker 6 (01:15:17):
Handing out for free here.
Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
All right.
Speaker 6 (01:15:20):
We got a tax bill to pay. Well, Apple just
announced a lineup of new products at its fall event,
along with a highly anticipated foldable iPhone, which is officially
named iPhone Duo. Apple also announced the Apple Watch Series 12,
equipped with an AI-infused Siri that sounds like a privacy nightmare.
Two new features announced with the new Apple Watch, Live
(01:15:41):
Rewind and Siri Recap. All right, with Live Rewind, if
you have an Apple Watch Series 12 and you're talking
with somebody and you didn't hear them and you don't
want to ask them to repeat themselves, you can double
press this digital crown button to get a transcript of
the last 15 seconds of any conversation. that you're currently having.
Speaker 2 (01:16:02):
Oh, so it's literally listening all the time.
Speaker 6 (01:16:04):
And recording and recording.
Speaker 2 (01:16:05):
That's just not good.
Speaker 6 (01:16:07):
Now with Siri recap, it uses ambient listening all day
and all night to capture summaries, key points, and other
notes from your daily conversations. You can choose to have
the Siri recap feature always on, uh, constantly eavesdropping, or
you can set it to turn on at specific times
(01:16:28):
each day. Apple says, and they swear, this raw audio
will only be accessible to the owner of the watch.
Nobody else. Although it's got to be stored somewhere in
order to give you back the last 15 seconds of
a conversation or a recap.
Speaker 2 (01:16:44):
Yeah, but they literally could have built a digital recorder
into the watch. I mean, they do sell digital recorders. So,
I mean, that's a possibility.
Speaker 3 (01:16:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:16:52):
That it just constantly resets every 15 seconds. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:16:56):
Let me ask you this. Since you and I are
so bad at remembering people's names.
Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
You know. I agree.
Speaker 6 (01:17:04):
It's like last 15 seconds.
Speaker 7 (01:17:05):
Oh, Jeremy.
Speaker 6 (01:17:06):
That's right. Oh, it was Linda. That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
Yeah, but I'm no. Yeah. No, that's not a good
enough reason for me.
Speaker 6 (01:17:14):
I feel like in the future, in like 10 years,
all those conversations are coming back to bite us.
Speaker 1 (01:17:19):
Probably.
Speaker 4 (01:17:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:17:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
I wouldn't mind it, though, so I could prove to Nora,
I never said that!
Speaker 6 (01:17:29):
Siri, play back the conversation.
Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
You completely misheard that. All together.
Speaker 6 (01:17:35):
Oh, I like it. All right, those are your three things.
Speaker 2 (01:17:40):
Someone jumped on Reddit and said, what's some common knowledge
facts that completely missed and people didn't know? And I
find this hard to believe that there's a large majority
of people that didn't know this. This might just be
someone like saying, oh, they didn't know this. But there's
only one on this list I did not know. I'm
going to go through the six I did know, Thick,
(01:18:01):
and I want to see if you knew these or not. Oh, boy.
And then we'll get to the seventh, the one I
didn't know, and we'll see if you knew that one
or not. Like this one. Penguins or birds? Penguins or birds?
Penguins are birds. Well, yeah. Apparently some people think they're fish. fish.
Speaker 1 (01:18:20):
I don't know how you think they're fish.
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
They live out of water. They can swim, but they
live out of water. They walk around on the land.
Speaker 5 (01:18:26):
Whales can swim too, but they're mammals. Right. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
No, penguins are birds. Okay, you knew that one.
Speaker 5 (01:18:31):
They have wings. I don't think they can fly, but
they have wings.
Speaker 2 (01:18:34):
Yeah, but some fish have got some really large fins.
Speaker 5 (01:18:37):
That's true. Well, I guess I can see why that thing,
somebody who just had no clue could mistake that arm
for a fin, I guess.
Speaker 1 (01:18:46):
What about this? Pineapples grow from plants on the ground,
not on trees.
Speaker 5 (01:18:53):
I did not. I thought they grew from trees.
Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
No.
Speaker 5 (01:18:56):
Like coconuts.
Speaker 1 (01:18:57):
No, they do not.
Speaker 5 (01:18:58):
You got me there. Okay. No, you knew that. I
knew that one.
Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:19:04):
I'm going to save mine for last.
Speaker 2 (01:19:05):
A lot of people had no idea that chicken tenders
are short for chicken tenderloins. Yes, of course.
Speaker 1 (01:19:10):
What, what, what, what?
Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Yeah, chicken tendies.
Speaker 5 (01:19:13):
It's in the name.
Speaker 1 (01:19:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
It's not like, there's no, there's no, like, it's not
a chicken nuglet. Like, it's a nugget, but it's formed
that way. So a chicken tender isn't really, like, formed
that way. It's a chicken tenderloin.
Speaker 5 (01:19:26):
No, but there are places that used to serve chicken
nuggets that weren't. Well, they didn't call them chicken tenders. Right, exactly.
They just called them chicken nuggets.
Speaker 2 (01:19:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:19:33):
Okay. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:19:34):
What about this one? Pickles or cucumbers?
Speaker 3 (01:19:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:19:37):
That's what they started as, a cucumber.
Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:19:39):
You salt them and brine them. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
I guess some people did not know that. Reindeer are
real animals, not just Santa's helpers. Yeah. Those are real animals.
Speaker 5 (01:19:46):
Go online and see tons of them.
Speaker 2 (01:19:49):
Okay. Ponies are not baby horses. No.
Speaker 1 (01:19:51):
Ponies are their own type of horse.
Speaker 5 (01:19:53):
Like a Shetland pony?
Speaker 7 (01:19:54):
Right.
Speaker 1 (01:19:55):
A baby horse is a fowl.
Speaker 4 (01:19:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19:56):
And then you've got ponies.
Speaker 5 (01:19:58):
A donkey is not a horse.
Speaker 2 (01:19:59):
It's a donkey.
Speaker 3 (01:19:59):
Right.
Speaker 7 (01:20:00):
Exactly.
Speaker 5 (01:20:00):
A pony is a pony.
Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:20:01):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:20:02):
This is the one I did not know. The Beatles
is a play on the word beat. Some people thought
it was the English spelling of B-E-E-T-L-E.
Speaker 5 (01:20:12):
I actually Googled that.
Speaker 8 (01:20:13):
I Googled, why do the Beatles spell it B-E-E-T and
found that out.
Speaker 2 (01:20:17):
Yeah, it's actually for the word beat holes. You know,
like the Oneeders.
Speaker 5 (01:20:22):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:20:23):
So, yeah, I'm glad I did learn that beat is
actually meant for the music. Not the English spelling of
the bug.
Speaker 5 (01:20:30):
So we each didn't know one, but it was a
different one.
Speaker 1 (01:20:32):
It was a different one.
Speaker 2 (01:20:33):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:20:34):
So now you know all those. Congratulations.
Speaker 2 (01:20:38):
Now, let's see if we can learn you something. Sit
up and pay attention. Yeah, let's learn you some stuff
on a Thursday morning.
Speaker 1 (01:20:47):
Make you a little bit smarter than you were when
you woke up today.
Speaker 2 (01:20:49):
Like, did you know Salvador Dali had a neat trick
for getting out of paying for drinks and meals for
large groups of friends? He would offer to pay by check,
but then he'd do drawings on the back of them,
making them works of art so that he.
Speaker 1 (01:21:03):
Knew they would never be cashed.
Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
Oh, what? And people would just keep Salvador Dali art,
original art.
Speaker 5 (01:21:09):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 1 (01:21:11):
That's a pretty good way. That's pretty smart.
Speaker 5 (01:21:14):
And he's like, well, if they do cash it, oh, well.
Speaker 1 (01:21:16):
Right, exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:21:17):
But he knows most of the time they won't.
Speaker 5 (01:21:19):
That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:21:21):
Did you know the national flag with the most colors
in it is Belize. It's got 19 colors in its flag.
Speaker 1 (01:21:29):
That's a lot.
Speaker 5 (01:21:30):
Very festive.
Speaker 2 (01:21:31):
Very festive. Did you know when people are struck by lightning,
the mark that appears on them afterwards looks like a
detailed silhouette of a fern tree? This occurs because the
capillaries beneath their skin rupture from the shock of the
electrical discharge. In most cases, the marks are not permanent
and can disappear within days. Oh, I thought you got
that cool lightning scar forever. You should. You deserve it. Right.
Speaker 5 (01:21:53):
You survived that.
Speaker 2 (01:21:54):
You know what you've been through? Come on.
Speaker 5 (01:21:56):
Look at that right there, pal.
Speaker 2 (01:21:59):
Did you know that athletes in ancient Greece in the
original Olympics competed while completely naked?
Speaker 1 (01:22:05):
It was a tribute to the Greek god Zeus.
Speaker 2 (01:22:08):
They wanted to show Zeus their physical power and muscular physique.
Speaker 5 (01:22:11):
Oh, yeah, they sure showed him.
Speaker 2 (01:22:13):
Tug of War was a whole different game back then.
Speaker 5 (01:22:17):
Man.
Speaker 7 (01:22:18):
Man.
Speaker 5 (01:22:21):
I don't want to be that anchor, man.
Speaker 2 (01:22:25):
No, you won when the rope got sticky.
Speaker 5 (01:22:27):
Yeah. Tug.
Speaker 1 (01:22:33):
Tug.
Speaker 2 (01:22:34):
Tug. Tug. Tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug.
Speaker 1 (01:22:40):
And finally.
Speaker 7 (01:22:41):
Finally.
Speaker 2 (01:22:49):
It's really weird.
Speaker 5 (01:22:50):
We're 12.
Speaker 2 (01:22:50):
It's really weird.
Speaker 5 (01:22:51):
I'm sorry we're 12, but it's great.
Speaker 2 (01:22:53):
It's really weird when the guy on the opposite team
is giving you advice.
Speaker 5 (01:22:57):
Tug, tug.
Speaker 1 (01:22:58):
Tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug.
Speaker 6 (01:23:01):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 2 (01:23:07):
What are you helping them out for?
Speaker 7 (01:23:09):
Stop.
Speaker 5 (01:23:11):
Go to the next one.
Speaker 7 (01:23:11):
All right.
Speaker 1 (01:23:12):
Finally. Did you know?
Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
Bruce Willis turned down the role of Sam in the
movie Ghost because he didn't understand how it would work
with the main character being dead for most of the movie.
Of course, that role went to Patrick Swayze. And then,
nine years later, he plays a ghost in Sixth Sense.
Speaker 6 (01:23:32):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 7 (01:23:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:23:33):
Spoiler alert.
Speaker 2 (01:23:34):
I'm sorry. He's dead at the end of the movie,
in case you didn't know. There you go. Learning you
some stuff on a Thursday morning.
