me know what's on your mind in the world of sports,
and it doesn't have to be NFL. I know we're
talking heavy NFL right now in terms of looking at
division champs and can they repeat and who do you
predict could repeat as division champ or are you going

to take that team to repeat or would you take
the field to other teams in the division. So we've
been able to talk about the AFC East, North and
the South, so we'll continue that and then of course
we'll be talking a lot of college football over the
next few days. Also as now we're getting more information
from camps that have started South Carolina and then also

Clemson and expectations, and I do have some interesting thoughts.

On South Carolina.

Oh okay, I know I'm consistently coming across very bullish
with South Carolina. Yeah, and I'm not wavering on that,
even after a four and eight season last year where
I was bullish on South Carolina and maybe I started
buying into the hype a little too early.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Hey, it happens. It happens.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
We're, you know, as objective as we can, but there's
some subjectivity that starts playing into, you know, how we
view things. And that's in everyday life also. Oh yeah,
of course it's going to happen in sports then, because
sports is life, life is sports. All of those things
are connected significantly. So we'll be talking a lot more

for ball and especially as you get to see some
of the freaks that South Carolina has on their team.
And I'm using that in a positive way, like athletic
freaks of nature, like a Nick Harbor, Yeah, a Dylan
Stewart and even Leonora Sellers to a certain degree, Maybe
not like Nick Harber, because I've got some thoughts on

that when you and Bruce Feldman does a great job
with the athletic and he highlights athletic freaks in college football,
and when you break it down, I mean some of
the numbers are ridiculous as far as Nick Harber, and
so there's definitely some things to talk about him. And

Bruce Feldman has him as the number one athletic freak
in all of college football.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Yeah.

Wow, So we'll be talking about that a little bit more.
And so there's some reasons why I'm still a little
bullish on South Carolina. Does that mean they're going to
win a national championship? No, I'm not saying that that.

Would be the extreme.

But Indiana came out of nowhere basically, basically and did
something that we didn't think could even be remotely possible.
Just think about it again for Indiana, just real quick.
This was the team that has the most losses in

all of college football history. Yep, nobody has lost more
than Indiana.

And what do they do this year?
Speaker 1 (03:44):
They go and win the national championship, but not just
win the national championship, It went undefeated.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Yep. You know how rare it is.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I mean, it's hard enough just to win a national championship,
but to go under defeated.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
And when did we.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Ever believe in Indiana? Seriously, when did you believe in Indiana?
I'll be honest with you, I don't even know that
I believed in him going in that Miami game. I
looked at it said, man, Miami, and this might be
the end of the run. I still don't know if
I've believed in Indiana and they're national champions.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
That's how crazy it is. That's how bizarre it is.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
That right, they were able to make this run and
that's all I mean.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
You can look at the poles and that that's there.

And when we hear the terms, oh, anything is possible, yeah,
we say that tongue in cheek because we know there
are certain things that are not, oh, of course possible,
or at least in our world. Yeah, of our realm

and what could be possible. But in the sports world,
have in Indiana go undefeated and win national championship. That's
almost one of those things that there's no way that's possible.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yeah, it can't happen. It's unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
And that's why even when I hear people say, oh, well,
what Indiana did last year was unbelievable, Well, no, it's not.
It's not unbelievable because they did it. You gotta believe
it because they did it, So how can it be unbelievable?
It can be amazing. It can be incredible, but it

can't be unbelievable because it happened. Yeah, And so when
I say South Carolina has an opportunity where I'm bullish
show on them again. I'm not saying that they're going
to win a national championship, but it is possible.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
So you're telling me there's a chance.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yeah, and it's highly unlikely. It's a small chance. I
get it, and I don't think that'll do it, But
I am I'm still a little bit bullish on South Carolina,
and I'll tell you why.

Coming up this week. I'm gathering all my thoughts.

I'm taking in some of the data points that we're seeing,
some of the comments, some of the things that I'm
hearing from camp right now and again examining their schedule,
that's part of it, and also the teams that they're
going to have to play the conference all of that.
So you've got to factor in, you know, a lot
of that. And so I'm just gathering all my data

points here because make it some observations, yes, not making conclusions.
But this is the time of year, man, we start
we're building up to that point.

I should say, we're.

Reactionary Monday, We're immediately going to make some conclusions like.

This team's cooked, we're done, are season's over?
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Like you can't make any conclusion off of the Hall
of Fame game.

Not even you can conclude that those guys went into
the Hall of Fame. They're done in discussion.

Yeah, I don't even know how many observations you can
make off of the Hall of Fame game.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
It was fun, that's an observation. Yeah, it was exciting.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yeah, it was definitely one of the more entertaining preseason
games that I've experienced. And that might be saying a lot,
because in all reality, there's not a whole lot of
preseason games that I've experienced. Now, I did take my
son to go see preseason game in Dallas years ago. Yeah,
that was a great experience. But the game was terrible,

but it's supposed to be. Yeah, the experience was great
that because it was me and my son, we got
to actually go out on the field do all those Yeah,
so it was it was pretty special from that standpoint,
but the game not so much. Yeah, Now, the game,
it was exciting there last Thursday. I think that's about
the only observation that you can make all right, you

We're doing fantastic, Billy appreciate it, very good, very good.

All right, you're all over the board today. And I
listened to every second of this show because I love it.
So I just want to try to touch a few things.
I'm going to try to go into order. So you
were talking about free season games. I can remember. I
don't know, this is fifteen years ago. I got, you know,
a guy that I was working for. He was CEO
of the company, and he got he always was getting passes.
(08:35):
I don't know this guy had. He had connections. I
mean honestly, he's since passed, you know, God, rest and soul,
but he had connections and he was always giving us things.
So he gave me three and not everybody liked three
season football. I love three season football. So I got
passes to go see and it was the only time
I've ever been to a game, honestly, riched that did
not involve the Dallas Cowboys. It was the Panthers, and

I think they were playing Baltimore and my brother in
law at the time. They since divorced, you know, but
they're still friends. Anyway, he was a big Panther stand
So I took him up there and I and I
went to that game and it was boring, but I
loved it because, I mean, it gave me an idea
of what each team had on the roster. So you know,
there's that you're talking about South Carolina and the optimism

that you have for him, and I know you do
this a lot to them, and that's okay, I listen.
I love that, but that's not the reason that I
listened to your show. If you was uveily to him,
almost still listen because at least you're objective. That's what
I like about it, and I think you're knowledgeable. But anyway,
you know, there are some some points that some data,
some data points that point to South Carolina having a
big rebound And it's not a South Carolina thing. It's

not even a college football thing. It's just a football thing,
per se. I know, everybody knows who feels still is
at this point. You know, he makes a great point
in some of his magazines and this is a yearly
thing that's been going on for twenty something years now.
But he's not wrong in this this data set, our
data point he has the he points out every year, Richmond,
(10:06):
and that's the fact that if your team has a
lot of close losses and they're bringing back quite a
few of these starters, then you know those things are
going to correct themselves and the next year you're probably
gonna have a lot of quite close wins. And that
was true with South Carolina three years ago, two years ago,
and then this year. So this is going to be
their balance back year. So I agree with you on that.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Oh I like that.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Yeah, see we're on the same page here. At some
point the cycle does change to a certain degree.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
And I think you're spot on.

And there's no doubt Phil Steel has been following it
for a long time, so he has a lot of
data that he can lean on to showcase exactly what
you're talking.

About, Billy, right and well, and to be honest, to
be fair, he was not high on South Carolina last
year yea, And so and that was the reason why
they lost a lot of that defense. And he just
thought they were going to take a step back. And listen,
I don't think he was suspecting to be four and eight.
He probably would thinking six and six, seven and five.
You know, that was a step back from ninety three
(11:07):
to the year prior nine and four become the ball loss.
But you know, obviously there's some of those close losses
nobody would have fought. You know, my god, the way
that they lost a couple of those games. The Alabama
game comes to mind, the and In game comes to mind.
Nobody first seen that. And you can't ever predict those things,
as you always want out rich, But you know, I

think this is just going to be a bounce back here.
First of all, I like what they brought in on
their offensive line. We'll see how it jails. It can't
be worse. Surely, it can't be worse. Okay. Secondly, I
love Briles. I think he is going to try to
accentuate what Sellers does, you know, with his skill set,
and I think this is going to be in match
made in heaven. So we'll see. Listen. I'm obviously always

trying to be optimistic, but I'm always trying to be
objective like you, Richmond, I think we are going to
win at least eight games. We'll see anyway. To your
other point that she was talking about that, I love
this discussion the divisional winners who won last year that
you think probably won't win this year. And I started
thinking about it while I was driving around listening to
you and Trey talk. To be honest, I think there's

a lot, Honestly, Richmond, this year. You guys are talking
about Pittsburgh. I tend to agree with both of you.
I know Trey don't want to hear that, but he's
he's objected. He even admitted he thinks that it would
be probably Baltimore or Cincinnati. I tend to agree with that.
I tend to link with Cincinnati Moore, but it wouldn't
shock me that it was Baltimore. Okay, so that's the
first one the SC I get what what Trey saying
(12:32):
would buyer's remorse. But Trey, I think the one thing
that you're missing, and I'm not saying you're wrong, the
buyer's remorse With Buffalo, it's not then winning the division.
It's been winning to asc every year. Oh sure, yeah,
you know pretty much. They're the standard bearer in that division.
I know last year was the exception, but I tend
to believe that Buffalo would probably if I was putting
money only, I would put Buffalo to win that division

again because of some of the chaos that's going to
you know, around in New England. And we go back
to the field steal point, A lot of those close
games in New England won last year are probably going
to buy them in the butt this year.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
And part of that too is that when you look
at the AFC east of Billy, I mean, it's almost
like a coin flip, yeah, because it's either going to
be the Patriots or the Bills, because it's not going
to be the Jets or the Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
So the two teams are eliminated.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
And I do think that that's why I'm taking the field,
even though I'm really just taking Buffalo, yeah, instead of
the Patriots.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Right right, the fields is not that good, but Buffalo
really is. Okay. That one I definitely would switch. I'm
thinking the other ones. I tell you another one that
probably obviously everybody's dynasty with listen. I love Seattle. I
think they're going to be a playoff team. I would
not pick them to beat the Rams in that division
this year. And I say that to say this, you know,

I think everyone needs to tone down their their their
thoughts on on the Rams a little bit because everyone's
dispenseling and not only to win, not only to get
to the Super Bowl rich, but to win the Super Bowl.
And I can think of an example, and I know
you're going to remember this early two thousands. God, I
can't remember the player that was the Seattle the glove.
He went to the Lakers. And then there was another
(14:12):
big player that went to the Lakers, and everybody just
pencled them in to win the championship that year and
the year after and guess what, they didn't win need.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Either of them.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
That's right, So I listen, I think the Rams. I
would pencil them into the NFC championship. I will say
that I would not pencil them in to win or
to make the Super Bowl yet. I think that remains
to be seen. And there's a big if about that
whole franchise. And what is that big ift Richmond. It's
their quarterback.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
He's aging now, that's right, yes, And that's a I
mean you have to take that into consideration when you're
viewing that team.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
You just have to.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Yeah, but I will say this, I would still just
projecting you. If you gave me the rest of the
NFC West or the Rams, I would still take the
Rams because I think their rosters that good. And that's
not a knock on Seattle because I think Seattle is
still going to be pretty dog gone good too. But
if you look at what happened with those two teams
last year, they played each other three times. I think

they out of one two of the three. I just
it's so hard for me to you know, see them
winning two out of three again. So I would take
the Rams. I know they don't play you know, that's
projecting a playoff obviously game. It's hard for me to
see the Rams not winning that division. So I would
take the Rams there. NFC South, listen, I know Carolina
(15:28):
won and they bring in a lot back, but you
know they lost that running back that played in South Carolina,
I think, and he was a big part of that team.
I would probably take the rest of the field and
that one too. Rich.

Yeah, I think That's where I'd be leaning is the field,
just because I mean everybody's so bunched up. I mean,
the team that won was eight to nine, so of
course that's the Panthers. But I think this is a
situation where there's so much parody in that division. Even
with all of the question marks. That quarterback for Atlanta,

who knows what's going on. I see Tampa actually being
okay offensively, even losing Mike Evans because I think Baker
Mayfield has a chip on his shoulder and he's going
to come out and ball out, and again that's all
precluded that he stays healthy.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Yeah, yeah, And I still like Atlanta's roster. I don't
like what's going on. They're back, but I like their
coaching staff now and I like that roster. I think
they're going to be underrated, so we'll see that. I
would just take the field. That's not a knock at Carolina.
It wouldn't shock me if they get to the playoffs
by virtue of winning the division or as a wild card.
But I do think that I would just take the
field personally, yea, right, AFC South, I would probably who

won the division last year. I don't remember what Indianapolison was.

The Jacksonville Jacksonville at thirteen and four, and this is
the one that I actually took Jacksonville to repeat.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
Yeah, and I get that. And this is going to
come across with me being a South Carolina fan because
they've got They've got slim Shine there as their quarterback
and I think, listen, I think he into talent. But
I'm taking Texas because I like their defense and I
don't think Stroud is going to be as poor this year.
So yeah, but I get where you're going with that.
It wouldn't shock me at Jacksonville, you know, repeats and

wins the division. But I just I've got a feel
in Texas's defense was was awesome last year, and I
think they're one of those teams that everybody's going to
probably underestimate this year, Richmond, And it one't shock me
if they make a super Bowl run.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Yeah.

No, And see, I don't disagree with you at all,
But that doesn't mean that they can't make a super
Bowl run and not be division champs. Also, you know,
from that side of things, but this would also be
for Jacksonville to win the division back to back. I mean,
this would have to be something that again, statistically speaking,

you wouldn't think that Jacksonville would be able to do this,
and I'm again almost like flipping the coin because I
don't think it's going to be Indianapolis and it's definitely
not going to be Tennessee. Yeah, so it's going to
come down to Houston or Jacksonville. And maybe that's where.
Oh okay, yeah, it's Trevor Lawrence a quarterback, and maybe
that's why I lean more towards Jacksonville just because I

think he's a better quarterback than C. J.

Stroud. Oh and he did go to Clemson never.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Yeah, well that's ok favorites, and I agree, I do
think he has a better upside than Throud then, and
I like Stroud. So that said something about about Trevor Lawrence.
But I just like, I think if you start looking
at these rosters, to me, the differences there is the
Jackson Jacksonville, the Texan's defense. I just I love their deens,

but you're right, listen, they can make it as a
walk card to make a run. That's what they did
last year. So okay, two more divisions, so let's go.
What was it this NFC North who won that division
last year was a Detroit I.

Can't remember the Bears the Bears.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Yes, wow, and see I like the Bears. I think
I think they're legit, unlike my brud or who you know,
does not like their quarterback. If you start talking about quarterbacks,
I think there's three elite quarterbacks in this league, and
you guys already know who they are. Josh Allen, Patrick, Mahomes,
and I think Caleb Williams. And then that is in
that Hill. I think he has got the skill sets

as you cannot teach. I think he can do everything
that those other two quarterbacks can. He's just young. But
you know that's a tough division.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
That's a tough division. I'm taking the field all day
long on this one.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Billy, I would probably take the field too, honestly, although
I love the Bears. I love the Bears, and I
think the I think they're to me, they're a sleeper
from the super Bowl in my opinion. But I would
take the field all right. And in the NFC East,
I hate to say it, but I had to, I'd
have to lean on Philadelphia. Honestly. I just think they

still got more than everybody else.

I agree, this is the one that I would take
Philadelphia as well. I just again, maybe it comes down to,
you know, a real close. It's not like a huge gap,
I think. Uh, But I do think there's enough of
a gap that I'm probably taking Philly in this one.
That pains me to say, because at some point it's like, Okay, Dallas,
let's let's get things in order.

I just don't know if this is the year now
I do.

I am probably a little bit more bullish on the
Cowboys though Billy this year, and I'm trying to restrain
from my hopeful optimism and you know, keeping it realistic.
But I do think the defense is going to be better.
But where I question is get the offense. Yeah, had
the same type of production that they had last year.
That's and it's crazy to even say that. That's so funny.

Jeremy's all over your cowboys, man. He's been championing pretty
much all off season talking about Cowboys. I'm telling you,
Cowboys A're gonna win that division. So there go Jeremy
in the corner.

Okay, there we go.

Well, I can get from his lips to the good
Lord's ears as all I can say, but I'm gonna
and listen. I do believe I'm with you on one
thing Richmond. I think Philadelphia has taken it still back.
I don't think that's the same thing they works with
three years, but they're still the cream of the crop
in this division. Slightly. I think one through four is
to me personally, I think this division reminds me so
(21:09):
much of the late nineties or I guess, yeah, late nineties,
early two thousands, when that division was so good. I'm sorry,
late eighties, early nineties when I'm thinking, yes, is when
that division was so good. Because I think the Giants
or Washington, who I think is going to be three
or four, are so close to Philadelphia, So I think
(21:30):
this is the division that could be chaos, but I
would still lean towards them. Having said all that, listen,
if you go and look at every one of the
divisions we just took rich I mean, I don't know
how many of the ones you had to repeat it.
I think I only had one.

Yeah that's right.

Yeah, I've got the Eagles in Jacksonville as far as
repeating as of right now.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
So two, I've only had the Eagles. So that just
goes to show you football is going to be fun

A lot of question marks. Mike McCarthy yellow, Aaron Rodgers, Okay, yeah,
mean's here, He's here, he's out there. You can put
him at quarterback or you can put him at edge rusher.

We've seen him. It doesn't matter. Roman Wilson there, it's
his third year and this is a third year in
a row.

I've heard man he's going to take a big step
forward this year and I've yet to see it.

Okay, we'll see if Mike McCarthy can live up to
the standard that Mike Tomlin has set. Never well said,
a sub five hundred regular season as the head coach
of the Steelers. That's pretty impressive.

I get it frustrated that didn't correlate that into more
Super Bowl appearances or titles, whatever it might be, but
they were always in contention.

But I do think that is accurate.

Take the field there, AFC East, I'm taking the field again.
It comes down to the Patriots or the Bills, right,
flip that coin, Yeah, flip the coin. AFC South. I'm
actually taking Jacksonville to repeat. Yeah, I agree with that,
and again I think it's very close. Houston, no doubt
will be a problem because their defense is so good.

It's so good. Yeah, it's it's good. AFC West. We
have not talked about this one.

The Denver Broncos at fourteen and three. This is an
interesting division also because look at the teams.

I mean, you got the.

Broncos of course. Oh yeah, you got the Chiefs of course.
And don't forget about the Chargers. Now, you can potentially
forget about the Raiders, but right, you can't forget about
the Chargers there, and you got the Chiefs.

Yeah, I might be a little bullish on the Chargers. This year.
Speaker 4 (26:01):
You got Mike m McDaniel almost said, Mike McDonald that
is a wrong coach, Mike McDaniel coming into Yes, they're
in LA. So you pair that with Jim Harball. We
know the defense is going to click if McDaniel can
get that offense clicking in a way that we saw
even there in Miami. Now, granted, I know the last
couple of years haven't been what now fans have woned,

but still you can't deny that Mike McDaniel is a.

Pretty offensive guru kind of coach there.

So putting in there, I think part of his issue
was I just don't think he was a head coach.

I think that's the big issue that's saying you bring
him back down into an offensive coordinator position. I'm I'm
excited to see what this team does this year. I
might take the field just for the Chargers.

I think it was on Colin Cowherd, and Colin was
asking Jim Harball. Now, I mean it was a crazy
and it was I mean it was a roller coaster ride,

But he asked Jim Harball basically, what was the selling
point to Mike McDaniel, Yeah, to come be the offensive coordinator?

And was like, oh, it's easy. I just said Justin Herbert.

Yeah, there we have talked about Justin Herbert at nauseum
as another guy you're talking about, Okay, right, Justin? If
not now, when when is it going to be that point?
But I think there's more dynamics to it, and I'm

curious to what you're describing. Does he need somebody like
the Mike McDaniel And of course, yeah, having Jim Harball,
who's going to focus on He's going to stabilize that line.
We know the trenches are a huge factor for Jim Harball,
and you know we in all of that. We talked

about this here recently about Josh Allen. All right, Josh,
when it's your year, no excuses. I do wonder if
we're finally at that point, if this is kind of
the last who are off for Justin Herbert? All Right,
You've got Jim Harball there, he's obviously going to stabilize
the line. You've got a defense, and now you've got
an offensive play caller that made two a tongue of
ailoa look pretty good.

If you could do that, if he could do that
with Tua, what you have to think what could he
do with Justin Herbert? And so I do wonder if
it doesn't work out, at what point do we start
looking at Justin and going, hey man, all right, do
we take him out of that sort of I feel
like we're always in like a top five, top ten
sort of conversation with Justin Herbert. At what point does
he start sliding out of that? Is this the turning point?

If it doesn't work out with Mike McDaniel.

And I mean We're looking at Dak Prescott in different
situations because can you imagine if Dak Prescott had been
in or if he was in a position where he's
won eight playoff games, got to the NFC Championship one time,
two times, maybe even got to the Super Bowl. Sure,

can you imagine where Dak Prescott would be ranked?

Oh, He's a top three, top four quarterback. That's how
important it is that you have to have playoff success.
That's why Dak Prescott is consistently hovering around seven or eight,
right and sometimes even do you put him in the

Great in the I mean phenomenal in the regular season.
We've seen that play out several times.

So when you're looking at the AFC West and Denver
won fourteen and three, you got the Chiefs, ken Patrick Mahomes,
can he rebound yep off the injury? What do you
have with the Chargers? And of course you do have
the Raiders there. I think I'm taking the field think.

I think Denver came burst on the scene to a
certain degree. Again, I know I'm that's not an accurate
way to describe them. Only from a perspective of I
don't think we penciled Denver in as finishing the season.

Fourteen and three. No, I know I didn't. No, I
mean there's no way eleven and twelve and five.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Maybe, yeah, but fourteen and three, yeah, probably with bo Nicks, right.
I mean again, I know their defense is good, and
you do have Sean Payton, and I think we're starting
to see how good of a coach Sean Payton is
because I did question it from a perspective could it
work in Denver? And seems to be working. But I

just think this is a situation where I think these
teams are closer, even with the question mark with Patrick
Mahomes and his status as far as how healthy he
can be. I don't question that he has not put
in all of the work this offseason.

I think I think we're going to see Patrick Mahomes.

Not to that degree the flash that we've seen, but
I think Patrick Mahomes is going to have a really
good year.

We talk all the time about just the AFC in
general and their quarterback play. You got three of those
guys right here in the division. You've got Patrick Mahomes
obviously coming off of the injury. What does he look
like this year? I don't know, but still, as far
as I'm concerned, number one quarterback here in the league
right now until proven otherwise. And you've got Justin Herbert there,
which again against all the stuff that we're talking about
if man and how does it work out? Still a
great quarterback that so you're gonna have great quarterback play.

Again, it's coming off an injury, so we'll see how
he plays. But he played really well last year. And
then three phenomenal head coaches and Andy Reid, Jim Harball

You've got Clint Kubiak over there, yeah, yeah, exactly the

And part of me is like, what why did Kirk

eight season and maybe some of the struggles.

Speaking of quarterbacks in the NFL, Leddy Bridgewater announced his
retirement after a twelve year career. Again, that was another
guy that surprised me. But the injuries just completely devastated him,

How about this in college athletics, as we know that
the Colorado Preliminary Injunction that allows college athletes to retain
another year of eligibility based on the lawsuit that we
have talked about, well, Michigil fallon there with field of

sixty eight as their law analyst says that he believes
that Judge Sweeney will deny the NCAA's requests to stay.

The preliminary injunction.

So the NCAA is saying, you know, you need to
remove this injunction. So he believes that the judge will
deny it, and then the case will get to the
Tenth Circuit Court, which could make a deci within the
next twenty four to seventy two hours. So rosters in
college basketball and even in football right now are still

undetermined because there could be guys that are getting this
fifth year eligibility to come back. And okay, again, it's crazy,
absolutely crazy. And how about this the LA Dodgers. Since
the Tarik Schooble trade on August the second, the Dodgers
are one and six, the worst record in Major League

Baseball over that span, and the Tigers are five and two,
tie for the third best record over that span. So again,

divisions and seeing how it plays out. And that's why

I think we love the NFL because and anything can
happen with these divisions. But it also is what drives
as crazy as fans because anything can happen. That's the problem.

been able to talk about the AFC East, North and
the South, so we'll continue that and then of course
we'll be talking a lot of college football over the
next few days. Also as now we're getting more information
from camps that have started South Carolina and then also

Clemson and expectations, and I do have some interesting thoughts.

On South Carolina.

Oh okay, I know I'm consistently coming across very bullish
with South Carolina. Yeah, and I'm not wavering on that,
even after a four and eight season last year where
I was bullish on South Carolina and maybe I started
buying into the hype a little too early.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Hey, it happens. It happens.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
We're, you know, as objective as we can, but there's
some subjectivity that starts playing into, you know, how we
view things. And that's in everyday life also. Oh yeah,
of course it's going to happen in sports then, because
sports is life, life is sports. All of those things
are connected significantly. So we'll be talking a lot more

for ball and especially as you get to see some
of the freaks that South Carolina has on their team.
And I'm using that in a positive way, like athletic
freaks of nature, like a Nick Harbor, Yeah, a Dylan
Stewart and even Leonora Sellers to a certain degree, Maybe
not like Nick Harber, because I've got some thoughts on
(02:22):
that when you and Bruce Feldman does a great job
with the athletic and he highlights athletic freaks in college football,
and when you break it down, I mean some of
the numbers are ridiculous as far as Nick Harber, and
so there's definitely some things to talk about him. And
(02:47):
Bruce Feldman has him as the number one athletic freak
in all of college football.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Wow, So we'll be talking about that a little bit more.
And so there's some reasons why I'm still a little
bullish on South Carolina. Does that mean they're going to
win a national championship? No, I'm not saying that that.

Would be the extreme.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
But Indiana came out of nowhere basically, basically and did
something that we didn't think could even be remotely possible.
Just think about it again for Indiana, just real quick.
This was the team that has the most losses in

all of college football history. Yep, nobody has lost more
than Indiana.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
And what do they do this year?
Speaker 1 (03:44):
They go and win the national championship, but not just
win the national championship, It went undefeated.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Yep. You know how rare it is.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I mean, it's hard enough just to win a national championship,
but to go under defeated.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
And when did we.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Ever believe in Indiana? Seriously, when did you believe in Indiana?
I'll be honest with you, I don't even know that
I believed in him going in that Miami game. I
looked at it said, man, Miami, and this might be
the end of the run. I still don't know if
I've believed in Indiana and they're national champions.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
That's how crazy it is. That's how bizarre it is.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
That right, they were able to make this run and
that's all I mean.

You can look at the poles and that that's there.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
And when we hear the terms, oh, anything is possible, yeah,
we say that tongue in cheek because we know there
are certain things that are not, oh, of course possible,
or at least in our world. Yeah, of our realm

and what could be possible. But in the sports world,
have in Indiana go undefeated and win national championship. That's
almost one of those things that there's no way that's possible.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yeah, it can't happen. It's unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
And that's why even when I hear people say, oh, well,
what Indiana did last year was unbelievable, Well, no, it's not.
It's not unbelievable because they did it. You gotta believe
it because they did it, So how can it be unbelievable?
It can be amazing. It can be incredible, but it

can't be unbelievable because it happened. Yeah, And so when
I say South Carolina has an opportunity where I'm bullish
show on them again. I'm not saying that they're going
to win a national championship, but it is possible.

So you're telling me there's a chance.

Yeah, and it's highly unlikely. It's a small chance. I
get it, and I don't think that'll do it, But
I am I'm still a little bit bullish on South Carolina,
and I'll tell you why.

I'm taking in some of the data points that we're seeing,
some of the comments, some of the things that I'm
hearing from camp right now and again examining their schedule,

So you've got to factor in, you know, a lot
of that. And so I'm just gathering all my data

points here because make it some observations, yes, not making conclusions.
But this is the time of year, man, we start
we're building up to that point.

Reactionary Monday, We're immediately going to make some conclusions like.

This team's cooked, we're done, are season's over?

Like you can't make any conclusion off of the Hall
of Fame game.

Not even you can conclude that those guys went into
the Hall of Fame. They're done in discussion.

Yeah, I don't even know how many observations you can
make off of the Hall of Fame game.

It was fun, that's an observation. Yeah, it was exciting.

Yeah, it was definitely one of the more entertaining preseason
games that I've experienced. And that might be saying a lot,
because in all reality, there's not a whole lot of
preseason games that I've experienced. Now, I did take my
son to go see preseason game in Dallas years ago. Yeah,
that was a great experience. But the game was terrible,

but it's supposed to be. Yeah, the experience was great
that because it was me and my son, we got
to actually go out on the field do all those Yeah,
so it was it was pretty special from that standpoint,
but the game not so much. Yeah, Now, the game,
it was exciting there last Thursday. I think that's about

I'm going to try to go into order. So you
were talking about free season games. I can remember. I
don't know, this is fifteen years ago. I got, you know,
a guy that I was working for. He was CEO
of the company, and he got he always was getting passes.

I don't know this guy had. He had connections. I
mean honestly, he's since passed, you know, God, rest and soul,
but he had connections and he was always giving us things.
So he gave me three and not everybody liked three
season football. I love three season football. So I got
passes to go see and it was the only time
I've ever been to a game, honestly, riched that did
not involve the Dallas Cowboys. It was the Panthers, and

I think they were playing Baltimore and my brother in
law at the time. They since divorced, you know, but
they're still friends. Anyway, he was a big Panther stand
So I took him up there and I and I
went to that game and it was boring, but I
loved it because, I mean, it gave me an idea
of what each team had on the roster. So you know,
there's that you're talking about South Carolina and the optimism

that you have for him, and I know you do
this a lot to them, and that's okay, I listen.
I love that, but that's not the reason that I
listened to your show. If you was uveily to him,
almost still listen because at least you're objective. That's what
I like about it, and I think you're knowledgeable. But anyway,
you know, there are some some points that some data,
some data points that point to South Carolina having a
big rebound And it's not a South Carolina thing. It's
(09:45):
not even a college football thing. It's just a football thing,
per se. I know, everybody knows who feels still is
at this point. You know, he makes a great point
in some of his magazines and this is a yearly
thing that's been going on for twenty something years now.
But he's not wrong in this this data set, our
data point he has the he points out every year, Richmond,
(10:06):
and that's the fact that if your team has a
lot of close losses and they're bringing back quite a
few of these starters, then you know those things are
going to correct themselves and the next year you're probably
gonna have a lot of quite close wins. And that
was true with South Carolina three years ago, two years ago,
and then this year. So this is going to be
their balance back year. So I agree with you on that.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Oh I like that.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Yeah, see we're on the same page here. At some
point the cycle does change to a certain degree.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
And I think you're spot on.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
And there's no doubt Phil Steel has been following it
for a long time, so he has a lot of
data that he can lean on to showcase exactly what
you're talking.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
About, Billy, right and well, and to be honest, to
be fair, he was not high on South Carolina last
year yea, And so and that was the reason why
they lost a lot of that defense. And he just
thought they were going to take a step back. And listen,
I don't think he was suspecting to be four and eight.
He probably would thinking six and six, seven and five.
You know, that was a step back from ninety three
(11:07):
to the year prior nine and four become the ball loss.
But you know, obviously there's some of those close losses
nobody would have fought. You know, my god, the way
that they lost a couple of those games. The Alabama
game comes to mind, the and In game comes to mind.
Nobody first seen that. And you can't ever predict those things,
as you always want out rich, But you know, I

think this is just going to be a bounce back here.
First of all, I like what they brought in on
their offensive line. We'll see how it jails. It can't
be worse. Surely, it can't be worse. Okay. Secondly, I
love Briles. I think he is going to try to
accentuate what Sellers does, you know, with his skill set,
and I think this is going to be in match
made in heaven. So we'll see. Listen. I'm obviously always
(11:49):
trying to be optimistic, but I'm always trying to be
objective like you, Richmond, I think we are going to
win at least eight games. We'll see anyway. To your
other point that she was talking about that, I love
this discussion the divisional winners who won last year that
you think probably won't win this year. And I started
thinking about it while I was driving around listening to
you and Trey talk. To be honest, I think there's
(12:10):
a lot, Honestly, Richmond, this year. You guys are talking
about Pittsburgh. I tend to agree with both of you.
I know Trey don't want to hear that, but he's
he's objected. He even admitted he thinks that it would
be probably Baltimore or Cincinnati. I tend to agree with that.
I tend to link with Cincinnati Moore, but it wouldn't
shock me that it was Baltimore. Okay, so that's the
first one the SC I get what what Trey saying
(12:32):
would buyer's remorse. But Trey, I think the one thing
that you're missing, and I'm not saying you're wrong, the
buyer's remorse With Buffalo, it's not then winning the division.
It's been winning to asc every year. Oh sure, yeah,
you know pretty much. They're the standard bearer in that division.
I know last year was the exception, but I tend
to believe that Buffalo would probably if I was putting
money only, I would put Buffalo to win that division

again because of some of the chaos that's going to
you know, around in New England. And we go back
to the field steal point, A lot of those close
games in New England won last year are probably going
to buy them in the butt this year.

Yeah.

And part of that too is that when you look
at the AFC east of Billy, I mean, it's almost
like a coin flip, yeah, because it's either going to
be the Patriots or the Bills, because it's not going
to be the Jets or the Dolphins.

So the two teams are eliminated.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
And I do think that that's why I'm taking the field,
even though I'm really just taking Buffalo, yeah, instead of
the Patriots.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Right right, the fields is not that good, but Buffalo
really is. Okay. That one I definitely would switch. I'm
thinking the other ones. I tell you another one that
probably obviously everybody's dynasty with listen. I love Seattle. I
think they're going to be a playoff team. I would
not pick them to beat the Rams in that division
this year. And I say that to say this, you know,

I think everyone needs to tone down their their their
thoughts on on the Rams a little bit because everyone's
dispenseling and not only to win, not only to get
to the Super Bowl rich, but to win the Super Bowl.
And I can think of an example, and I know
you're going to remember this early two thousands. God, I
can't remember the player that was the Seattle the glove.
He went to the Lakers. And then there was another
(14:12):
big player that went to the Lakers, and everybody just
pencled them in to win the championship that year and
the year after and guess what, they didn't win need.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Either of them.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
That's right, So I listen, I think the Rams. I
would pencil them into the NFC championship. I will say
that I would not pencil them in to win or
to make the Super Bowl yet. I think that remains
to be seen. And there's a big if about that
whole franchise. And what is that big ift Richmond. It's
their quarterback.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
He's aging now, that's right, yes, And that's a I
mean you have to take that into consideration when you're
viewing that team.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
You just have to.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Yeah, but I will say this, I would still just
projecting you. If you gave me the rest of the
NFC West or the Rams, I would still take the
Rams because I think their rosters that good. And that's
not a knock on Seattle because I think Seattle is
still going to be pretty dog gone good too. But
if you look at what happened with those two teams
last year, they played each other three times. I think

they out of one two of the three. I just
it's so hard for me to you know, see them
winning two out of three again. So I would take
the Rams. I know they don't play you know, that's
projecting a playoff obviously game. It's hard for me to
see the Rams not winning that division. So I would
take the Rams there. NFC South, listen, I know Carolina
(15:28):
won and they bring in a lot back, but you
know they lost that running back that played in South Carolina,
I think, and he was a big part of that team.
I would probably take the rest of the field and
that one too. Rich.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Yeah, I think That's where I'd be leaning is the field,
just because I mean everybody's so bunched up. I mean,
the team that won was eight to nine, so of
course that's the Panthers. But I think this is a
situation where there's so much parody in that division. Even
with all of the question marks. That quarterback for Atlanta,

who knows what's going on. I see Tampa actually being
okay offensively, even losing Mike Evans because I think Baker
Mayfield has a chip on his shoulder and he's going
to come out and ball out, and again that's all
precluded that he stays healthy.

Yeah, yeah, And I still like Atlanta's roster. I don't
like what's going on. They're back, but I like their
coaching staff now and I like that roster. I think
they're going to be underrated, so we'll see that. I
would just take the field. That's not a knock at Carolina.
It wouldn't shock me if they get to the playoffs
by virtue of winning the division or as a wild card.
But I do think that I would just take the
field personally, yea, right, AFC South, I would probably who

won the division last year. I don't remember what Indianapolison was.

The Jacksonville Jacksonville at thirteen and four, and this is
the one that I actually took Jacksonville to repeat.

Yeah, and I get that. And this is going to
come across with me being a South Carolina fan because
they've got They've got slim Shine there as their quarterback
and I think, listen, I think he into talent. But
I'm taking Texas because I like their defense and I
don't think Stroud is going to be as poor this year.
So yeah, but I get where you're going with that.
It wouldn't shock me at Jacksonville, you know, repeats and

wins the division. But I just I've got a feel
in Texas's defense was was awesome last year, and I
think they're one of those teams that everybody's going to
probably underestimate this year, Richmond, And it one't shock me
if they make a super Bowl run.

No, And see, I don't disagree with you at all,
But that doesn't mean that they can't make a super
Bowl run and not be division champs. Also, you know,
from that side of things, but this would also be
for Jacksonville to win the division back to back. I mean,
this would have to be something that again, statistically speaking,

you wouldn't think that Jacksonville would be able to do this,
and I'm again almost like flipping the coin because I
don't think it's going to be Indianapolis and it's definitely
not going to be Tennessee. Yeah, so it's going to
come down to Houston or Jacksonville. And maybe that's where.
Oh okay, yeah, it's Trevor Lawrence a quarterback, and maybe
that's why I lean more towards Jacksonville just because I

think he's a better quarterback than C. J.

Stroud. Oh and he did go to Clemson never.

Yeah, well that's ok favorites, and I agree, I do
think he has a better upside than Throud then, and
I like Stroud. So that said something about about Trevor Lawrence.
But I just like, I think if you start looking
at these rosters, to me, the differences there is the
Jackson Jacksonville, the Texan's defense. I just I love their deens,

but you're right, listen, they can make it as a
walk card to make a run. That's what they did
last year. So okay, two more divisions, so let's go.
What was it this NFC North who won that division
last year was a Detroit I.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Can't remember the Bears the Bears.

Yes, wow, and see I like the Bears. I think
I think they're legit, unlike my brud or who you know,
does not like their quarterback. If you start talking about quarterbacks,
I think there's three elite quarterbacks in this league, and
you guys already know who they are. Josh Allen, Patrick, Mahomes,
and I think Caleb Williams. And then that is in
that Hill. I think he has got the skill sets
(19:15):
as you cannot teach. I think he can do everything
that those other two quarterbacks can. He's just young. But
you know that's a tough division.

That's a tough division. I'm taking the field all day
long on this one.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Billy, I would probably take the field too, honestly, although
I love the Bears. I love the Bears, and I
think the I think they're to me, they're a sleeper
from the super Bowl in my opinion. But I would
take the field all right. And in the NFC East,
I hate to say it, but I had to, I'd
have to lean on Philadelphia. Honestly. I just think they

still got more than everybody else.

I agree, this is the one that I would take
Philadelphia as well. I just again, maybe it comes down to,
you know, a real close. It's not like a huge gap,
I think. Uh, But I do think there's enough of
a gap that I'm probably taking Philly in this one.
That pains me to say, because at some point it's like, Okay, Dallas,
let's let's get things in order.

I am probably a little bit more bullish on the
Cowboys though Billy this year, and I'm trying to restrain
from my hopeful optimism and you know, keeping it realistic.
But I do think the defense is going to be better.
But where I question is get the offense. Yeah, had
the same type of production that they had last year.
That's and it's crazy to even say that. That's so funny.

Jeremy's all over your cowboys, man. He's been championing pretty
much all off season talking about Cowboys. I'm telling you,
Cowboys A're gonna win that division. So there go Jeremy

Well, I can get from his lips to the good
Lord's ears as all I can say, but I'm gonna
and listen. I do believe I'm with you on one
thing Richmond. I think Philadelphia has taken it still back.
I don't think that's the same thing they works with
three years, but they're still the cream of the crop
in this division. Slightly. I think one through four is
to me personally, I think this division reminds me so

much of the late nineties or I guess, yeah, late nineties,
early two thousands, when that division was so good. I'm sorry,
late eighties, early nineties when I'm thinking, yes, is when
that division was so good. Because I think the Giants
or Washington, who I think is going to be three
or four, are so close to Philadelphia, So I think

this is the division that could be chaos, but I
would still lean towards them. Having said all that, listen,
if you go and look at every one of the
divisions we just took rich I mean, I don't know
how many of the ones you had to repeat it.

Yeah, I've got the Eagles in Jacksonville as far as
repeating as of right now.

forward this year and I've yet to see it.

Okay, we'll see if Mike McCarthy can live up to
the standard that Mike Tomlin has set. Never well said,
a sub five hundred regular season as the head coach
of the Steelers. That's pretty impressive.

I get it frustrated that didn't correlate that into more
Super Bowl appearances or titles, whatever it might be, but
they were always in contention.

It comes down to the Patriots or the Bills, right,
flip that coin, Yeah, flip the coin. AFC South. I'm

and again I think it's very close. Houston, no doubt
will be a problem because their defense is so good.

have not talked about this one.

The Denver Broncos at fourteen and three. This is an
interesting division also because look at the teams.

Broncos of course. Oh yeah, you got the Chiefs of course.
And don't forget about the Chargers. Now, you can potentially
forget about the Raiders, but right, you can't forget about
the Chargers there, and you got the Chiefs.

Yeah, I might be a little bullish on the Chargers. This year.
Speaker 4 (26:01):
You got Mike m McDaniel almost said, Mike McDonald that
is a wrong coach, Mike McDaniel coming into Yes, they're
in LA. So you pair that with Jim Harball. We
know the defense is going to click if McDaniel can
get that offense clicking in a way that we saw
even there in Miami. Now, granted, I know the last
couple of years haven't been what now fans have woned,
(26:21):
but still you can't deny that Mike McDaniel is a.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Pretty offensive guru kind of coach there.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
So putting in there, I think part of his issue
was I just don't think he was a head coach.
Speaker 2 (26:31):

I think that's the big issue that's saying you bring
him back down into an offensive coordinator position. I'm I'm
excited to see what this team does this year. I
might take the field just for the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
Yeah. Well, and I heard the interview.

I think it was on Colin Cowherd, and Colin was
asking Jim Harball. Now, I mean it was a crazy
and it was I mean it was a roller coaster ride,
as we've talked about roller coaster rides of seasons, et cetera.
But he asked Jim Harball basically, what was the selling
point to Mike McDaniel, Yeah, to come be the offensive coordinator?
Speaker 2 (27:03):
And was like, oh, it's easy. I just said Justin Herbert.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
Yeah, there we have talked about Justin Herbert at nauseum
as another guy you're talking about, Okay, right, Justin? If
not now, when when is it going to be that point?
But I think there's more dynamics to it, and I'm
(27:27):
curious to what you're describing. Does he need somebody like
the Mike McDaniel And of course, yeah, having Jim Harball,
who's going to focus on He's going to stabilize that line.
We know the trenches are a huge factor for Jim Harball,
and you know we in all of that. We talked
(27:48):
about this here recently about Josh Allen. All right, Josh,
when it's your year, no excuses. I do wonder if
we're finally at that point, if this is kind of
the last who are off for Justin Herbert? All Right,
You've got Jim Harball there, he's obviously going to stabilize
the line. You've got a defense, and now you've got
an offensive play caller that made two a tongue of
ailoa look pretty good.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
If you could do that, if he could do that
with Tua, what you have to think what could he
do with Justin Herbert? And so I do wonder if
it doesn't work out, at what point do we start
looking at Justin and going, hey man, all right, do
we take him out of that sort of I feel
like we're always in like a top five, top ten
sort of conversation with Justin Herbert. At what point does
he start sliding out of that? Is this the turning point?
(28:32):
If it doesn't work out with Mike McDaniel.

Yeah, no doubt.

And I mean We're looking at Dak Prescott in different
situations because can you imagine if Dak Prescott had been
in or if he was in a position where he's
won eight playoff games, got to the NFC Championship one time,
two times, maybe even got to the Super Bowl. Sure,

can you imagine where Dak Prescott would be ranked?
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Oh? Man?

Oh, He's a top three, top four quarterback. That's how
important it is that you have to have playoff success.
That's why Dak Prescott is consistently hovering around seven or eight,
right and sometimes even do you put him in the
top ten?

Great in the I mean phenomenal in the regular season.
We've seen that play out several times.

So when you're looking at the AFC West and Denver
won fourteen and three, you got the Chiefs, ken Patrick Mahomes,
can he rebound yep off the injury? What do you
have with the Chargers? And of course you do have
the Raiders there. I think I'm taking the field think.

I think Denver came burst on the scene to a
certain degree. Again, I know I'm that's not an accurate
way to describe them. Only from a perspective of I
don't think we penciled Denver in as finishing the season.

Fourteen and three. No, I know I didn't. No, I
mean there's no way eleven and twelve and five.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Maybe, yeah, but fourteen and three, yeah, probably with bo Nicks, right.
I mean again, I know their defense is good, and
you do have Sean Payton, and I think we're starting
to see how good of a coach Sean Payton is
because I did question it from a perspective could it
work in Denver? And seems to be working. But I
(30:21):
just think this is a situation where I think these
teams are closer, even with the question mark with Patrick
Mahomes and his status as far as how healthy he
can be. I don't question that he has not put
in all of the work this offseason.

I think I think we're going to see Patrick Mahomes.
You know, I maybe.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Not to that degree the flash that we've seen, but
I think Patrick Mahomes is going to have a really
good year.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Yeah. Well, And I mean you look at it too.
From this division.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
We talk all the time about just the AFC in
general and their quarterback play. You got three of those
guys right here in the division. You've got Patrick Mahomes
obviously coming off of the injury. What does he look
like this year? I don't know, but still, as far
as I'm concerned, number one quarterback here in the league
right now until proven otherwise. And you've got Justin Herbert there,
which again against all the stuff that we're talking about
if man and how does it work out? Still a
great quarterback that so you're gonna have great quarterback play.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
There. You got Bo Nicks.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
Again, it's coming off an injury, so we'll see how
he plays. But he played really well last year. And
then three phenomenal head coaches and Andy Reid, Jim Harball
and then Sean Payton. I mean that right there, if
you're the Raiders, you're look at it and going, man,
why do I get stuck here?
Speaker 2 (31:38):
Exactly?
Speaker 1 (31:38):
You've got Clint Kubiak over there, yeah, yeah, exactly the
Raiders and Kirk Cousins and Kirk Cousins getting in fight
with the Max Crosby and all that. Yeah, and now,
and I did read that, Uh both Max Crosby and
Clint Kubiak got penalized that they couldn't practice the next day,
And part of me is like, what why did Kirk
Cousins get in trouble is Max Rosby is the one

who is hitting a quarterback on you know drills that
you're not supposed to write like hello, I know.

The point is is that this is a three team
division and at some point we know Fernando Mendoza he's

Mattier at Ohio. And at number two though, is Leonora Sellars.
Oh okay, South Carolina. So getting a little bit of
pub right there. Again, I felt that there was almost
a situation where people were forgetting about Leonora Sellers a
little bit because of all of the hype and the

conversations last year and yep, of course the four and
eight season and maybe some of the struggles.

Speaking of quarterbacks in the NFL, Leddy Bridgewater announced his
retirement after a twelve year career. Again, that was another
guy that surprised me. But the injuries just completely devastated him,
and especially there at Minnesota.

And that's just a tough situation there. All right.

How about this in college athletics, as we know that
the Colorado Preliminary Injunction that allows college athletes to retain
another year of eligibility based on the lawsuit that we
have talked about, well, Michigil fallon there with field of

sixty eight as their law analyst says that he believes
that Judge Sweeney will deny the NCAA's requests to stay.

The preliminary injunction.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
So the NCAA is saying, you know, you need to
remove this injunction. So he believes that the judge will
deny it, and then the case will get to the
Tenth Circuit Court, which could make a deci within the
next twenty four to seventy two hours. So rosters in
college basketball and even in football right now are still

undetermined because there could be guys that are getting this
fifth year eligibility to come back. And okay, again, it's crazy,
absolutely crazy. And how about this the LA Dodgers. Since
the Tarik Schooble trade on August the second, the Dodgers
are one and six, the worst record in Major League

Baseball over that span, and the Tigers are five and two,
tie for the third best record over that span. So again,
here we go. You just don't know water level, Yes

Oh yeah, I mean, it's just so hard to go
back to back in the NFL. That's right, That's I
think that's the point that we're making here. Is that

That's why I think it skews the numbers to a

taking the field, yeah, and with a lot of these
divisions and seeing how it plays out. And that's why

I think we love the NFL because and anything can
happen with these divisions. But it also is what drives
as crazy as fans because anything can happen. That's the problem.
That's the frustrating thing about that. But it is August
the tenth. We are moving fast already through this month
