at five pm you have the NBA the seventy six
Ers at the Lakers.

the NBA used to own Christmas Day. Oh but you
would have like two games and that was it. Now
you're adding more games from the NBA, but even more so,

you're adding NFL, and Christmas Day is just going to
be bonkers this year. From a sports perspective, this is
a spectacle. We've never seen some type of lineup like
this on Christmas Day. I mean, yeah, there's almost as
much excitement as SATA coming down the chimney.

Right, I mean, are you kidding me?

Well, you know you got these two organizations fighting to
own the day, and we win.

such a great team going at it.

you know you're going to already have the day off

than that. From a sports perspective, that is a really

of games also, but what about the matchups.

You've got the rematch Spurs at Nick's, Miami at Boston
at two thirty, seventy six Ers and Lakers at five pm,

OKC in Minnesota at eight, and then Denver and Golden
State at ten thirty.

I'll be asleep by ten thirty.

As much as I love him, as much as love
the Joker, ten thirty is a little even on Christmas Day,
I'm like, cool man, yeah, because I'm up at five.

Oh well, of course, yes, you've got young kids. Yes,
you're you're up early.

Probably probably the Spurs and the Knicks.

I've gotten to where, especially there towards the end of
last season, I was like, okay, I can see myself
becoming a little bit of a Spurs. I'm like Wimby
like this is They're fun to watch, Like that's a
cool match up to me. And obviously it's it's the
re match of the finals there, like it's a game,
like sign.

That's probably the one that jumped out with me first.
And then obviously the Nuggets. I just love Joker. But yes,
till I saw it ten thirty and I'm like that's
a little late.

Well, and there's also I like the fact that the
Spurs and Knicks in that twelve PM slot. Yeah, because
that's a prime time nobody nobody else is watching. I
mean there's NFL hasn't started yet, I guess, is my point.
And so if you're going to have if you're the
NBA man, you want people locked in right get from

the beginning. I mean it's just like you know an
action movie. You don't need to start slow, you need
to come out of the gates fast and get the
audience captivated right from the beginning.

Yes, I need to see Bruce Willis and all the
explosions immediately immediately, Yes, and get you, you know, on
the edge of your seat, so to speak.

And I think that's what the NBA was able to
do by showcasing and putting the Spurs and Knicks in
that twelve pm slot before you have a rivalry game.
It's the Packers and the Bears.

Yes, And so before we get to the NFL matchups,

I mean, of course there's intrigue with Giannis there in Miami.
Now the Celtics without Jalen Brown, so maybe to a
certain degree, but that's somewhat of a lackluster matchup for me.

Yeah, especially Sandwich TWM between the.

Yes, the Denver Golden State, that'll be too late for me,
even though of course it's Steph Curry versus the Joker
there and then ok see, I mean SGA versus Ant
and Minnesota there, so and that does have a little
bit of intrigue, but you're almost sitting there waiting for
that eight fifteen pm matchup between the Rams and the Seahawks.

So you know you're going to flip immediately. Yeah, you
might get fifteen minutes and that's it.

So I wonder who convinced who to start at eight fifteen.

talked about, I mean the primetime matchup, I mean it
is it's the it's the Rams and the Seahawks, And
you know what, for whatever reason, doesn't it just fit better.

It seems from a time slot perspective that it's Rams
and Seahawks in the night matchup versus the Bears and
the Packers. The Bears and the Packers, they just seem
like they need to start earlier. Yeah, yeah, they just
in Midwest, it's cold at one PM. That just feels

like you want that match up at one o'clock, right,
And I mean you talked.

About December, Christmas, December.

Football, like could the could we be looking again at
a Rams and a Seahawks team that's on a crash
course there for that division?

a certain degree this might be when you actually start
your NBA season, yeah is Christmas Day? Yeah, But for
the NFL, this could be deciding division winners.

Oh yeah, I mean, look at will the Bears be
in contention again? What are they gonna look like this year?
Caleb Williams? What's he gonna look like this year? We're
gonna get to see him there on Christmas Day against
the Packers.

went the wild Dunes, had a wonderful honeymoon and long,

long time. But after the wedding, so we were leaving
and guys, we're driving down twenty six and we get
about Orangeburg and I look over. My ex wife's name
is Gina, and I lived there. I said, Gena, I
forgot my golf club. We gotta go back and get them.

You turn around and go back get those golf clubs.

So we got down there, but it was all good.
So I rented clubs.

and clubs and all that kind of And I said,

in Orangeburg, okay, hour out of our forty five minutes
out of Columbia.

Oh gosh, a mighty almost. We're driving down and we've
had a wonderful day and I'm not gonna we're just
and we just got married and and we're just having
you know, just enjoying and and and all of a sudden,
you know, right, this is how stupid I am. Okay,

this is how dumb I am and and all that.
And I'm like, Gina, what we got a problem. What's
the problem. I forgot my golf clothes. We got to
go back and get them. Now you put yourself the

night after you just got married and all that stuff,
and your your husband is now your new husband is like,
we got to drive back an hour and go get
golf clubs to go on a honeymoon. So just think
about that that.

You know, we we learn, we live and we learn fellas.

Yes, Hey see, you never know what you're going to learn,
and how quickly you do learn that that might not
be a good decision to smart man exactly, But I
do understand what you're talking about.

If you are a good golfer.

I mean, there is something about having your own clubs
with them, you're familiar with them, and it just that
mental side of it, that it's one less thing that
you're going to be thinking about if you hit a
bad shot. Oh well, if I'd had my clubs, I
would have hit a really good shot there. But I
can't use these clubs, and it can spiral, you know,

a negative way. But I've been in the situation where
I've had to use rental clubs and had almost one
of those situations where man, I might have to buy
these from this place right because I'm playing so well
with these clubs. I mean they just you know, I'm
just striping the ball right now. And so it can

be on the positive side that you can have rental
clubs and play really well, but I think most of
the times and we want to have that that comfort
of knowing that it's it's our our clubs. And I
remember also just even from playing pickup basketball, I mean
I got more comfortable because I mean, you're just everybody's

there's different balls or whatever, but there's always something about
you walk in, you got your your own basketball, you
know how feels, you know how fits in your hand,
you know all that. So again, just that comfortability, there's
nothing worse than walking to the bowling alley and having
to use a house ball.

You know it exactly what I'm talking about. Yes, mister
bowler over there, when's the last time you've been bowling?
We haven't talked about in a minute.

started now that I'm on until seven and just don't

It's forty five minute drive there, so it just didn't

back into it. Nora really loves bowling, so I need
to take her. I used to go with my dad
a lot, but he had red tator cuff surgery, so
it's oh, it's hard to get.

it and go at least bowling game.

I sparked up a conversation with Trey telling them about
the concert I went to. I was like, I think
Richmond's a Brian Adams fan because he plays run to

And he said you didn't go, so you messed the
good show.

It was a lot of fun. It was sold out.
I was telling Trey real quick. I went with my
ex wife and it was not a good concert to
go two week ex wife, too many romantic you know,
just run to you. I mean the list goes on
and on, but anyway, I just wanted to tell you
about that. But you were talking about shoes. You were Rocky.

Rocky is a trip back when I was like, and
we're about I think we're I don't know for the
same age bracket. I think so. But when I was
a kid, like eight years old, you know, Conference all
Stars were it. You had to have a pair of
Conference All Stars. So my parents used to buy me those.
And then Jordan's came out and I cut my Conference

all Stars so I'd get a pair of Jordan's and
my dad's like, no, no, you cut those. I said, no,
they rip. He's like, there's no such thing as a rip.
I go through canvas like that. He's like, that's ridiculous
because you're wearing them until the souls were off. And
I was like, man, I wanted Jordan's so bad. And
you know, you know what, if you had Jordan's back,

then you were king.

And I'm telling you it's so funny you talk about that,
because I did have the magic Johnson Converse All Stars
and this was the white, purple and gold ones. Uh
huh oh yes, And I absolutely loved those until the
Jordans came out. And I cut a lot of grass

that summer to get my air Jordan's later that fall.

So, uh, you went a better way, yes, exactly.

So I didn't cut the shoes. I cut the grass
and make some money. But hey, you do what you
got to do. Man, try to get those Jordans.

Yeah, but I didn't get them. I never got. It sucked,
but you know, it is what that's right, that's new. Conference.
Also was just the white one. You know, you had
the white and the black, which were popular when I
was a kid, you know, mainly white. But yeah, it
was awesome. Don't get the low tops. You had to

have the hide.

It was all about the high tops back then.

Yes it was. But anyway, I did and I wanted to.
I don't remember what year this was, but I don't
get into the NBA too much, but there was a
it was like two thousand, maybe nineteen ninety eight, two thousand,

I don't I don't know, but it was like a
fifth I think they had a lockout. I'm not sure.
I'm not sure exactly why it was so short, but
the season was like fifty games or something like that,
and that that was incredible because it was like every
game mattered, you know. But now I think they play
like what ninety games, I don't.

Know, eight games on the NBA eighty two.
Speaker 7 (20:57):
Yeah, yeah that that that game that year where they
played fifty was pretty pretty cool. And you know I
kept track of that.

That's what. And they started in December, and that's what.

I still contend that that's a good place for the
NBA to start in my opinion is December and go
ahead and have opening Day on Christmas Day.

Yeah yeah, and it's more interesting. I mean, the games
mean a little bit more. Obviously in baseball, the games
don't mean anything unless you lose ten straight.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
You know, that's true, or you win ten straight. Because
uh not that the Red Sox have done that. But
the Red Sox have been on fire lately right now.
Speaker 7 (21:39):
Yeah, yeah, they've been doing good. And the Dodgers, it's crazy,
they're they're kind of thinking, right, yes, but all that
money they spent, it's ridiculous. But and you guys, you know,
you talk about the NFL season and everybody talks about,
you know, how brutal the game is. Well, I want
to let people know I'm a huge NHL fan, you

know that, But it's that's that's six and a half months. Yes, brutal,
brutal play.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Yeah games, Yeah, the NHL, Yes, and yeah again seeing
it first first hand, up close and personal, because I
had forgotten the experiences that I had watching NHL when
I was living in New Jersey and this was in
the mid nineties, but then going to Raleigh to watch

the Stanley Cup final there between the Golden Knights and
the Hurricanes. Man, you do forget the speed of the
game and the velocity and the physicality of the NHL.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
It is no joke.
Speaker 7 (22:47):
It is not. They're not padded up as much as
the NFL either, and they really rock each other against
them boards. I mean that, you know, concussions. It doesn't
seem like anybody really brings up the concussions.
Speaker 5 (23:00):
Hell, but my.
Speaker 7 (23:01):
Goodness, man, you got guys out there. I mean it's
it's kind of like you know, people got a short
version of it watching the USA team, you know, playing yeah,
and you see the guy get his teeth knocked out,
I mean, you know, get right back in there. I
mean it's crazy. I mean, these guys don't care. Now
two weeks they're gonna get right back in there, and

they don't care if their teeth are busted out. Will
take care of that after the season, you know, it's nuts.
So that's right. Yeah, they play. They played forty one
games at home, forty one games away, So that's that's
the NHL season.

Yeah, that's right.

And I think there's something with NHL players and especially
some of the brute guys and maybe yeah, everybody in
the NHL. It's almost like they have a screw loose
just a little bit. I don't know, because that is
a different type of sport from the municipality standpoint.
Speaker 7 (24:00):
Yeah, I mean just look up, you know, anybody out
there listening, look up NHL Biggest Hits two thousand and whatever,
and it's ridiculous. They rock each other.

the physicality of NHL, that's not saying that the NFL
is not physical.

NFL is again it's a gladiator type of sport, and
I think that's one of the reasons why we love it.
It harkens us back to the coliseum days they're in
Rome in just the spectacle of you know, trying to
hit somebody as basically hard as you can and cross
this line, so to speak. And you know, from a

concussion standpoint, yeah, I know they might not talk about
it in the NHL that much. And of course the
ice is so hard you fall, hit the ice, you know, whatever,
hit the boards, yeah, that can do it. But the
NFL there's still a little bit of that mindset and

what we view and I know they're trying to take
it out of the game to a certain degree as
best they can. But your head is almost a weapon
with a helmet on. I mean, you see people, what
do they do when they go hit They lower their head.
They're using it as like the leading part of the missile,
so to speaks. Yeah, So that's why concussions are more

prevalent in the NFL, because they're using their head again
as a weapon. Yeah, and that helmet can only do
so much to protect it, right, especially with the speed
and velocity that you see.

With these guys, and that's why you run the risk
that you get like a like a Ryan Shazier with
his neck and everything. You just hit the wrong way
with the helping. I mean, you're just you're just leading.
You know, it's kind of leading. You think the helmet's gonna.

Protect you, and it protects the head. It's everything else
with the impact that gets impacted.

I just wonder because now JJ McCarthy he missed his
entire rookie season due to the injury, and then started
ten games last year and Minnesota won six of those
ten though they did. Yeah, yeah, and then now he's
forced to be a backup.

He's twenty three years old. Yep.

Are we seeing something that this is showing us that
JJ McCarthy's not the guy that we thought he was
going to be, or did we ever think he was
going to be a true NFL starter. I know there
was a lot of hype coming out of Michigan. You

win a national championship. I do want to understand that.
And then of course the injury was that the turning
point for JJ McCarthy that he could just never get into,
you know, that type of position to showcase his skill
set or did the injury just impede him in terms

of the skill set, won't never be the same.

Oh that's a good I mean, we've seen it time
and time again there in the NFL. Some of these
injuries they impact these players so much for JJ. And
I'm not I'm not a draft guru or anything that
like that, so by all means don't I'm not. My
word is not gospel here, But like I wasn't huge
on JJ McCarthy coming out, and I feel like, at
least from the way I experienced it during that draft,

it felt a little bit of like some Jim Harball
magic there really pumping up, Ah, this kid, this kid's great. Yeah,
you gotta have him on your team.

That I even remember looking at JJ.

McCarthy doing these shows and it was almost within the
span of maybe like two weeks, all of a sudden
he was in He was.

In the conversation as one of the quarterbacks for that year.

But not not to the degree that he was there
where like almost within a two week span of time,
we were talking about JJ McCarthy, at least the national
pundits we're talking about JJ McCarthy is like, oh, well,
he could be like the third best quarterback in this
in this draft class.

And I was like, what where did that even come from?
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Out of nowhere?
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Yeah, I mean, because I don't even know if I
saw that much out of him at Michigan, right, Michigan
was just a really good team from every position down
and even on defense.

It wasn't like JJ McCarthy.

Did like a Deshaun Watson type of thing, Trevor Lawrence
type of thing carrying the team and more so probably
Deshaun than Trevor.

But the point is is that Michigan was just such
a good overall team. Yeah.

And again, not that he was that you know, what's
the word the QB manager or whatever.

not that he was technically a game manager, but it
was almost a little bit of.

that's fine, you know that, that's that's second round material
or if it's you know, maybe not a stacked quarterback class,
then yeah, sure he's there late first round. Like, but
I'm trying to think when the Vikings exactly took him.
But I do wonder because there's there's also the narrative
there with O'Connell, that wow quarterback guru, he's the whisperer.

He gets every quarterback that comes through that door to
just look incredible. And the fact that JJ hasn't really
shined all that much, he hasn't been great. He's also
got you know, justin Jefferson there that he's throwing to.
I mean, that's one that we talk about justin Jefferson.
It's like, just throw it in his descending he comes
down with it. Like, I do wonder what the narrative
looks like for JJ McCarthy there. It's like, Okay, you

got one of, if not the best wide receivers in
the league. You've got one of, if not the best
coaches in the league when it comes to developing quarterbacks,
and you still can't get out on the field and
beat Kyler Murray.

JJ McCarthy than it does Kyler Murray.

But still, like I looked at him going to Minnesota,
It's like I feel like, there's no way he doesn't

based on what we saw from.

I think that's part of it. And on the text

we did have Antonio chiming in talking about JJ McCarthy
saying McCarthy was never really asked to do much at Michigan.
They ran the ball a lot and that's what won
them the title that year. He was made out to
be a quarterback that he wasn't during the draft, so

a little bit of a game manager.

you out of the problems, or he can put you
in some of those advantage type of situations. And but

JJ McCarthy didn't really have to do.

No, And it makes me wonder because we talk about
scheme fit a lot. I mean, scheme where you land
is huge. I do wonder if a JJ McCarthy goes
to a Detroit where it's pound the rock, it's heavy trenches.
I'm not going to say he's not right Jared Golf. No, No,
he's not beating Jared Golf. But does he do we
look at him a little bit different and go because
he's back in that sort of role where he's kind

of a all right, let's distribute the ball, let's pound
the rock, let's run it. We've got a great defense.
Or if he had ended up with Jim Harball there
at LA, I mean Obviously he's not beating Justin Herbert out,
but to that degree that type of system system matters.

that eight fifteen pm matchup between the Rams and the Seahawks.

I mean, there is something about having your own clubs
with them, you're familiar with them, and it just that
mental side of it, that it's one less thing that

a negative way. But I've been in the situation where
I've had to use rental clubs and had almost one
of those situations where man, I might have to buy
these from this place right because I'm playing so well

just striping the ball right now. And so it can

be on the positive side that you can have rental
clubs and play really well, but I think most of
the times and we want to have that that comfort
of knowing that it's it's our our clubs. And I
remember also just even from playing pickup basketball, I mean
I got more comfortable because I mean, you're just everybody's

there's different balls or whatever, but there's always something about
you walk in, you got your your own basketball, you
know how feels, you know how fits in your hand,
you know all that. So again, just that comfortability, there's
nothing worse than walking to the bowling alley and having
to use a house ball.

Rocky is a trip back when I was like, and
we're about I think we're I don't know for the
same age bracket. I think so. But when I was
a kid, like eight years old, you know, Conference all
Stars were it. You had to have a pair of
Conference All Stars. So my parents used to buy me those.
And then Jordan's came out and I cut my Conference

all Stars so I'd get a pair of Jordan's and
my dad's like, no, no, you cut those. I said, no,
they rip. He's like, there's no such thing as a rip.
I go through canvas like that. He's like, that's ridiculous
because you're wearing them until the souls were off. And
I was like, man, I wanted Jordan's so bad. And
you know, you know what, if you had Jordan's back,

And I'm telling you it's so funny you talk about that,
because I did have the magic Johnson Converse All Stars

Also was just the white one. You know, you had
the white and the black, which were popular when I

Yes it was. But anyway, I did and I wanted to.
I don't remember what year this was, but I don't
get into the NBA too much, but there was a
it was like two thousand, maybe nineteen ninety eight, two thousand,

I don't I don't know, but it was like a
fifth I think they had a lockout. I'm not sure.
I'm not sure exactly why it was so short, but
the season was like fifty games or something like that,
and that that was incredible because it was like every
game mattered, you know. But now I think they play
like what ninety games, I don't.

Know, eight games on the NBA eighty two.

Yeah, yeah that that that game that year where they
played fifty was pretty pretty cool. And you know I
kept track of that.

That's what. And they started in December, and that's what.

I still contend that that's a good place for the
NBA to start in my opinion is December and go
ahead and have opening Day on Christmas Day.

Yeah yeah, and it's more interesting. I mean, the games
mean a little bit more. Obviously in baseball, the games
don't mean anything unless you lose ten straight.

You know, that's true, or you win ten straight. Because
uh not that the Red Sox have done that. But
the Red Sox have been on fire lately right now.
Speaker 7 (21:39):
Yeah, yeah, they've been doing good. And the Dodgers, it's crazy,
they're they're kind of thinking, right, yes, but all that
money they spent, it's ridiculous. But and you guys, you know,
you talk about the NFL season and everybody talks about,
you know, how brutal the game is. Well, I want
to let people know I'm a huge NHL fan, you

know that, But it's that's that's six and a half months. Yes, brutal,
brutal play.

Yeah games, Yeah, the NHL, Yes, and yeah again seeing
it first first hand, up close and personal, because I
had forgotten the experiences that I had watching NHL when
I was living in New Jersey and this was in
the mid nineties, but then going to Raleigh to watch

the Stanley Cup final there between the Golden Knights and
the Hurricanes. Man, you do forget the speed of the
game and the velocity and the physicality of the NHL.

It is no joke.

It is not. They're not padded up as much as
the NFL either, and they really rock each other against
them boards. I mean that, you know, concussions. It doesn't
seem like anybody really brings up the concussions.
Speaker 5 (23:00):
Hell, but my.

Goodness, man, you got guys out there. I mean it's
it's kind of like you know, people got a short
version of it watching the USA team, you know, playing yeah,
and you see the guy get his teeth knocked out,
I mean, you know, get right back in there. I
mean it's crazy. I mean, these guys don't care. Now
two weeks they're gonna get right back in there, and

they don't care if their teeth are busted out. Will
take care of that after the season, you know, it's nuts.
So that's right. Yeah, they play. They played forty one
games at home, forty one games away, So that's that's
the NHL season.

Yeah, that's right.

And I think there's something with NHL players and especially
some of the brute guys and maybe yeah, everybody in
the NHL. It's almost like they have a screw loose
just a little bit. I don't know, because that is
a different type of sport from the municipality standpoint.

Yeah, I mean just look up, you know, anybody out
there listening, look up NHL Biggest Hits two thousand and whatever,
and it's ridiculous. They rock each other.

They definitely do.

the physicality of NHL, that's not saying that the NFL
is not physical.

NFL is again it's a gladiator type of sport, and
I think that's one of the reasons why we love it.
It harkens us back to the coliseum days they're in
Rome in just the spectacle of you know, trying to
hit somebody as basically hard as you can and cross
this line, so to speak. And you know, from a

concussion standpoint, yeah, I know they might not talk about
it in the NHL that much. And of course the
ice is so hard you fall, hit the ice, you know, whatever,
hit the boards, yeah, that can do it. But the
NFL there's still a little bit of that mindset and
(25:28):
what we view and I know they're trying to take
it out of the game to a certain degree as
best they can. But your head is almost a weapon
with a helmet on. I mean, you see people, what
do they do when they go hit They lower their head.
They're using it as like the leading part of the missile,
so to speaks. Yeah, So that's why concussions are more
(25:50):
prevalent in the NFL, because they're using their head again
as a weapon. Yeah, and that helmet can only do
so much to protect it, right, especially with the speed
and velocity that you see.

With these guys, and that's why you run the risk
that you get like a like a Ryan Shazier with
his neck and everything. You just hit the wrong way
with the helping. I mean, you're just you're just leading.
You know, it's kind of leading. You think the helmet's gonna.

Protect you, and it protects the head. It's everything else
with the impact that gets impacted.

Speaking of the NFL, according to Adam Schefter just a
few hours ago and ESPN sources, is that.

The Vikings have named Kyler Murray their starting quarterback. Is
that it for JJ?

I just wonder because now JJ McCarthy he missed his
entire rookie season due to the injury, and then started
ten games last year and Minnesota won six of those
ten though they did. Yeah, yeah, and then now he's
forced to be a backup.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
He's twenty three years old. Yep.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
Are we seeing something that this is showing us that
JJ McCarthy's not the guy that we thought he was
going to be, or did we ever think he was
going to be a true NFL starter. I know there
was a lot of hype coming out of Michigan. You

win a national championship. I do want to understand that.
And then of course the injury was that the turning
point for JJ McCarthy that he could just never get into,
you know, that type of position to showcase his skill
set or did the injury just impede him in terms
(27:39):
of the skill set, won't never be the same.

Oh that's a good I mean, we've seen it time
and time again there in the NFL. Some of these
injuries they impact these players so much for JJ. And
I'm not I'm not a draft guru or anything that
like that, so by all means don't I'm not. My
word is not gospel here, But like I wasn't huge
on JJ McCarthy coming out, and I feel like, at
least from the way I experienced it during that draft,

it felt a little bit of like some Jim Harball
magic there really pumping up, Ah, this kid, this kid's great. Yeah,
you gotta have him on your team.

That I even remember looking at JJ.

McCarthy doing these shows and it was almost within the
span of maybe like two weeks, all of a sudden
he was in He was.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
In the conversation as one of the quarterbacks for that year.

But not not to the degree that he was there
where like almost within a two week span of time,
we were talking about JJ McCarthy, at least the national
pundits we're talking about JJ McCarthy is like, oh, well,
he could be like the third best quarterback in this
in this draft class.

And I was like, what where did that even come from?
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Out of nowhere?
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Yeah, I mean, because I don't even know if I
saw that much out of him at Michigan, right, Michigan
was just a really good team from every position down
and even on defense.

It wasn't like JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Did like a Deshaun Watson type of thing, Trevor Lawrence
type of thing carrying the team and more so probably
Deshaun than Trevor.

But the point is is that Michigan was just such
a good overall team. Yeah.

And again, not that he was that you know, what's
the word the QB manager or whatever.

Oh yeah, yeah, fries of the basket. Yeah, game manager.

Game manager, Yes, that's what I was thinking of, game manager,
not that he was technically a game manager, but it
was almost a little bit of.

That, a little bit, yeah, and especially to be and
that's fine, you know that, that's that's second round material
or if it's you know, maybe not a stacked quarterback class,
then yeah, sure he's there late first round. Like, but
I'm trying to think when the Vikings exactly took him.
But I do wonder because there's there's also the narrative
there with O'Connell, that wow quarterback guru, he's the whisperer.

He gets every quarterback that comes through that door to
just look incredible. And the fact that JJ hasn't really
shined all that much, he hasn't been great. He's also
got you know, justin Jefferson there that he's throwing to.
I mean, that's one that we talk about justin Jefferson.
It's like, just throw it in his descending he comes
down with it. Like, I do wonder what the narrative
looks like for JJ McCarthy there. It's like, Okay, you

got one of, if not the best wide receivers in
the league. You've got one of, if not the best
coaches in the league when it comes to developing quarterbacks,
and you still can't get out on the field and
beat Kyler Murray.

It's just not a good look.

It said, horrible look for JJ McCarthy. Remember he was drafted.

and what he's truly made of.

not as far as Sam Darnald.

I don't see that happening. But no, maybe an upturn

it tells a lot. I think it tells more about
JJ McCarthy than it does Kyler Murray.

There a little bit of thinking, well, Kyler Murray should
come in there and get the starting position.

have been on Kyler Murray and as even I look

But still, like I looked at him going to Minnesota,
It's like I feel like, there's no way he doesn't
win that job, like to me, barring injury, Like I
just didn't see Kyler Murray walking out of there with

I would agree, And I think part of that was
based on what we saw from.

to you know, be the number one quarterback. It was
based on the situation. Yeah, because if Kyler Murray's going
to Seattle. No, we're not saying that Kyler Murray is
going to go no, of course not. But with JJ McCarthy, Yeah, yeah,

I think that's part of it. And on the text
line eight sixty four Triple seven ninety five ninety three,
we did have Antonio chiming in talking about JJ McCarthy
saying McCarthy was never really asked to do much at Michigan.
They ran the ball a lot and that's what won
them the title that year. He was made out to
be a quarterback that he wasn't during the draft, so

we were talking about Yeah, I mean maybe he was
a little bit of a game manager.

need a superstar quarterback. They just needed a guy that
