Today I'm featuring a short audio clip of my dad talking about going to work at age 14 driving a truck for his father when his father was in the hospital. I listened to my dad telling this story and was inspired until it went in a different direction when he related it to modern day events.

How many times do we make a sacrifice thinking of what we'll get in return? Sometimes we do it intentionally. Sometimes we don't do it intentionally, but we enter into what I call the "Economy of Suffering" long after we've made our sacrifice, hoping it will get us a return on our suffering. Here's my Self-Help Rockstar take on Transactional Sacrifice, or The Economy of Suffering, and what to do when you catch yourself buying into it.
