It's time to Wake Up Woodward with the most listening
to Detroit sports morning.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Shows about to start.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Start your day with a warm cup of Flannel Sam,
or how about a full cup of Detroit kool Aid.
Oh yeah, mixing a little JB and you got yourself
The Prefacer Champions Live gusts, fan reactions and updates for
your favorite teams. Wake Up Woodward is live now on
Detroit's number one sports networks, Woodward Sworts.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
What up, don't People's Wake Up Woodward?
Speaker 3 (00:37):
We appreciate you for choosing to kick off your day
with the wool Cruiser Boy. Brandon de aka Defay Kool,
a Dr Credential, Pistols Report and writing for the network
Flannel Sam, the Vetteran Squad, the Veta Network, All Sports Nowhere,
and Bro, do you want to tell the people it's
on the millions tonight?
Speaker 4 (00:51):
You know, we got some things on the menu because
tonight a historic night in the All Star Games. Derek
Schoogle is starting against Paul Schemes. We also wanted to
get to because it is the All Star break and
for now we can look at a half a season
or slightly above half the season sample size. I want
to help to dispel what I believe to be a
(01:14):
false narrative about what the Tigers need most at the
trade deadline. I want to see where you guys are
at with this, and if we have time, we'll open
up the phones or we also got some really nice
tiger stats from a one of our very most loyal listeners,
so we will hopefully we can do a little bit
of everything, but lots of tigers, lots of Oneola Cruz
(01:36):
did not win the home run derby thing he hit.
I know, big guy hit ball far to twelve average.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Yeah, you go do it to twelve average.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Man to twelve average.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
And you know what, nobody's a prol like my man, Plannel.
Stam down there and do we do this now?
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Yes, we do this. Let's do it now.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
I don't even know how to do this.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Man, I'll float it over to planet.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
All right. So now I'm gonna do the best I can,
because you know what, it's all good, all right. So,
as you guys have seen that, there's been a few changes.
The midday show or the afternoon Drive show probably more accurately,
two to four has been changed to the Braylen Edwards
Show with Shep and you saw they debuted yesterday. They
(02:27):
did a fantastic job. I know that a lot of
you guys were really into that. That's not the only change.
One of the other changes, probably the most glaring one
is myself and kool Aid. This is our last week
on Wake Up Woodward, last week hosting the show together.
And for the record, I'm cool, I'm fine, I'm not mad,
(02:49):
I'm not bitter, grateful for every opportunity that I've gotten.
I don't want to speak too much for kool Aid,
but yeah, that's what's happening. But I'll tell you what
the person who is is coming in, the person or
persons I don't want to give away too much that
is going to be taking over the morning slot. You
guys are going to enjoy it. I promise you guys
(03:10):
are going to enjoy it. It's somebody that you guys
know very very well and has been around for a
long time.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah, and in Flannel definitely, everything you said that you
could say it speaks for me as well.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
But just to speak for me chat family.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
As always, you guys have been the most important part
of Wake Up Woodward. Gotta say shout out to our
brother Matthew brother too absolutely started off.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
Oh yeah, trust me, I'm gonna shout out everybody in Yes.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Definitely, but you know we already got It's cool that
we got KG back.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Kind of just in time for this as well.
Speaker 6 (03:42):
Yeah, but I ain't trying to come back to this shit, man,
I try.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
To come back to this shit.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
No, but if we were going to then you know what,
at least it's more appropriate. Let's see we can get
broder in here maybe on Friday as well. Yeah, we're
definitely trying to do that reach out to some of
our extended Wukoo family members, but thus this media. You know,
I am grateful for the opportunities that what We're Sports
has provided and look forward to more out there in
the media verse. Out there in the media, skate right
(04:07):
here at what We're sports, And a lot of that
has to do with with you all, so chat family.
Like I said, all the sports you guys have given us.
The show has continued to go went on for about
a year and a half, and there were times probably
prior to we were wondering like, man, you know, we
got our show, we got opportunity. Are we gonna get
three months? So to be able to kick this thing
as long as we did. We're very appreciative and we
(04:29):
look forward to the future and we're always gonna support
our brothers here. We're always gonna support the endeavors of
what we're sports, and we're always gonna be appreciative of, honestly,
the new plateaus, the new purchase that we have made,
and that the next shows in the next wave is
able to kind of take this thing further.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
So thank you guys.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
You know it's gonna be a weird ending to the week,
but we decided, you know what, rather than keep everybody
in the dark, we kind of got the green light
to be able to share at least what's gonna happen
with Wake Up Woodward and wanted to be able to
share that with you all so we can have a
more honest end of.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
The week because we've we've been kind of we've.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Been kind of hearing some grumblings and things we've the
last couple months has been it's been weird. We can't
say that say the least in business is business, but
you know, we've tried, we've tried to truck through and
a lot of that energy comes from honestly, you guys
and the support that we've had from each other.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
So I'm grateful.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
I am thankful hopefully we get another shot, and I'm
glad that we lasted this long finals.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
And I was I was gonna say and thank you
to Michael Devrees or Devrise. I'm sorry if I haven't
pronounced your name correctly. Gonna miss you guys. Thank you
for the super chat. And wow, I am honored to
be graced by the presence of a Barry mccachaner. You
have a great YouTube channel, by the way. I know
(05:53):
that's like a play on words, but for real, I'm
sure it's not the guy I love his a YouTube
channel for my announcement for my special anoubtsent Barry Bocockutter game.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
It's gracious, vincent E.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
I appreciate you saying flannel and kool Aid fans, I
see Creative World films. Damn man, it was weird vibe
this month. I've been kind of keeping keeping Willie b
at least a depth on certain things, so you know,
at the very least, I'm glad that you know WILLI
Be will still be around for the sound booth on
(06:26):
The Lion's Weekly Updates show.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
So shout out to him because he's enjoyed this and.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
All of us really have, all of us like to
be able to kind of grow as personalities, to be
able to bring in a lot of new interns. We
know that this crew has been the one that as
intern Heley, intern Rhiner here, this has been the crew
that's really welcomed a lot of the interns for us
be able to help platform people. They've turned into personalities,
They've gotten opportunities, and some of them are here for
(06:53):
the next wave of what this company will be. You
guys know me as a team team, team guy. Before
I have to think about myself, I'm grateful for what
this path means for the people ahead. So you know,
I see Freddy Felt three one three, kool Aid and
flannel forever.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
Hey, Freddy Felt, thank you, Thank you for that. And
for those those of you who are wondering, and uh,
obviously they're gonna speak in a second. KG and JB
will still be right here on this morning time slot.
So yeah, I know, I know you guys are on
pins and needles waiting for.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
That immaculate Hey, nobody better than my booth. This this is.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Not a sad occasion. Do not weep for me, for
I will be fine. And for the record, kool Aid
already has a role moving forward at the network. He's
not leaving. It's looking like I will as well. Still
trying to iron out some details and whatnot. But uh,
I'm good. I'm I'm one hundred percent fine. The way
the way I look at it is I got an
(07:54):
opportunity that shoot right, Willie, shut shout out, Willie. I
have so much fun with you guys these six months
interne with you, Brandon Dent, you KG and Flanel Slim.
You guys gave me a purpose. You all deserve your flowers.
Thank you so much. But hey, to a paraphrase the
(08:14):
uh the great Lebron James, I'm just a kid from Springfield, Illinois.
I wasn't supposed to be here. No, but but for
for for real, I when I got this opportunity, everybody
knows this, I wasn't super excited. I'm not gonna lie
because I had to fill the seat of somebody who
I still have a lot of respect for and a
(08:34):
lot of reverence for, mister Adam bay Dune. And I
know you feel the same way about JEFFI af Frady.
It was kind of like, Ooh, we really love these guys,
we really respect him, we think they're really talented. I
was here first, then you came along, Broder. Obviously, KG
and JB have been mainstays. Shout out to guys like
Chase and Justin as well. It's been fun. But like
(08:54):
I said, this is a do not weep for me.
I am fine.
Speaker 6 (08:58):
I will be get enough credit for what you've done
for this network, like just flat out, bro, like the
positions you've been put in, the fact that you've had
to come in and succeed right away, like you do
some of the most research at this network.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
You work hard, Bro. I got nothing but respect for you. Bro.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
I don't even respect the most the most, and it's
because of how I know you care about the show,
your contributions to it. I remember early on YO, back
when I was in Studio B exclusively with Woo were
Pistons and Rod Beard and then Jeff joined, and in
the conversations we used to have, I remember telling you, Bro,
you are a star.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
You are a star.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
I remember when I joined, it was about four and
a half years ago. You joined about four yeah, four
years ago, and I remember I remember when you entered
and it was just like, Yo, that dude is gonna
cause some troubles here in a good way.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Yeah, and you did this and we did that.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Yeah, and I think that you know what what we're
sports is becoming with the Chat family has become.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
That's the reason why we're making efforts as well.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
We appreciate the company to try and find ways to
keep a us included and involved with the team so
we can continue on.
Speaker 5 (10:03):
Man, it's been dope, Like the brotherhood has been awesome.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
But just to back of what KG is saying, like you, Flannel,
you deserve a lot of flowers. You've you've been not
just the vet, not just consistent, but you've been awesome
at your job, like you're you're awesome at this stuff, man,
and I want to make sure that as his weak
winds down, we definitely put that stuff on wax Man.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
YouTube j Room full of Goats.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
I'll just say THATTS and I got Broder because Matthew
Broder actually was the one who got the call to
do WA cub Woodard. He was the one and they
asked what did he want to do the show with?
He came for me and you so I got to
say shout out to Broder I.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
Remember the call. First he hit me.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Up and then he was like, we gotta get flannel.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
Do you think he do you think he would do
this show with us?
Speaker 3 (10:52):
I'm like my dog Sam Samuel Reynolds, I think he would.
And I know we went through some stuff in the beginning,
and then we found a rhythm and then obviously, you know,
Broter had to go to new pastures and then KG
went to new pastors and heart man, I was like,
what is going on? Like, it's only so many, so
much that you could take. That's the reason why we,
(11:13):
at least at this junctual were sports. I'm gonna try
and work to still be part of the team because
those things they punch, you, man, they hurt like kidney punches,
Like when Jeff left.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
That was real. That was real, man.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
And so you know, hey, I'm happy for the future
of it. And you know what, chat family if you
guys miss us. You guys always got the opportunity to
say shut out the flannel kool aid.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
So hey, Willie b the NBA MLB should hire Flannels
send to be working as an ant like like an analytics.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
Hey, yeah, you have to keep the temper and check.
Speaker 7 (11:48):
But I mean it can work.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
It can work, hey, man, I can. I can professionalize
the f out of anything.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Hey, that's Mark.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
That's why people who meet me are surprised. I'm a
very very nice man.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
No, he is the big Joe he was asking. It's
kool Ai leaving too right now. I'm grateful to be
part of the Breida Edwards with Matt Shep show. Uh So,
shout out to Braid, Shout out to Matt Shepherd.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
That dude Justin.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Yeah, Ricky Burns did some advocating and I appreciate them.
I'll be in the TD booth for that show and
look forward to it.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
I really do you gonna kill? The show was already epic.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
I was sitting behind that dude Justin just not to
do the TV stuff, but the way he's learned it
from JB.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Smooth.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
You know, I started getting my training from the goat,
from the m v P.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
JB. Smooth as well.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
I gotta say shout out to you, because Sunday Man,
you took a lot of anxiety away from for this
this job.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
JB.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Your training made it way easier, and Justin is kind
of showing me the ropes as well in that TD booth.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
So I look forward to the future.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
You know it's gonna be changed, it's gonna be different,
and I'm still looking for ways to one day resurrect
like the Undertaker man already that was already look man
Chaff and we already. I was going to them, and
it was like, look, we got at least to the
Cool podcast.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Okay, we got.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
We have to man if the Chad family will want that,
maybe we do the poll in there. If they want
the pod, if they're showing some love for that, then
we'll at least.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Try and make sure we get together.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
And I even talked to one mister brother about that too,
so we'll be able to get our cast together for
at least once a week.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
I think that'd be dope.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
I see a lot of people in the chat taking
guesses of who it will be. We cannot say.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
I can't even tell you the furthest from the I
haven't seen.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
The answer, not not at not at liberty to discuss.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
I'm not the new host.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Hey, Ryan, got it, Jared, they got time to do that.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
He says, open the phone line, Sam Cool aid appreciation
and really everybody on Wake Up would Appreciation Day.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
Everybody depends these guys cook up man. If they work.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Yeah, you're not sure the phones are working presently.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
I mean you can try.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
I can't.
Speaker 6 (14:04):
I can't absolutely attempt. So if you want to open
them up, we can give them a shot.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
No, I see a couple that man, they're actually like,
they're kind of far back in the Let me see
if I can find oh here here there, you.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Know y'all like this like that right now. I was
just real quick.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
And even though you say don't, don't weep for you, you know,
I'm still going to nip chat family man. If y'all
were really you know, WOU fans definitely do that. But
you know what this is. This is gonna be an
interesting journey ahead. But I don't want to I don't
want to let it be a miss. This was an
awesome opportunity that will be missed. Like I want the
(14:40):
people to know that this was an awesome opportunity. The
next show is going to be sitting in the place
of an amazing opportunity. I'm grateful to have had this
and it will be missed. Y'all hope to work back
and for anybody else out there. This is what the
journey is, man. It's it's about the ups, it's about
the downs, It's about how we go through them. It's
about how we support each other. It's a lot of
behind the scenes stuff here about even the reasons for
(15:02):
the road forward for Flannel and nine for some of us,
it's it's because of the support from people in this room,
support from people on these other shows, support from people
like you guys in the Chat.
Speaker 5 (15:13):
It's gone a long way.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
I remember they were demo demoing me on any over
the last week, some of the Chat fame might realize like, oh,
that's why kool Aid in the afternoons was there to
show so much love made people comfortable. So like that
type of stuff goes a long way, and it makes
you say, you know what, I'll still fight on.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Yes, there's an opportunity.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
A Herb Nash Sam going to be mahomes this houseboy
dream job. I'm sure it would pay quite a bit,
all right.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
You and you gotta state it plainly because they want
to know, are you completely done up with?
Speaker 2 (15:43):
What are you here?
Speaker 5 (15:44):
Because I've been talking about Flannel.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Yeah, we're we're we're we're working things out. I'll just
say that we remember, we are working things out. I
had a very nice conversation with the powers that be yesterday,
a very nice conversation. But like I said, on days
like today, I want to make sure that I don't
I don't forget anybody. And this is where I want
(16:09):
to just and we'll get to the sports in a second,
because it's business as usual. A couple of chats that
I want to read about one certain guy, what up
Doe with Detroit Gunny Love Adam bay Doune. He's what
brought my eyes to WSN Matthew Krueger, Adam bay Dune
straight up goat. And here's one thing that I don't
I feel bad that I haven't said this for people
(16:30):
who don't know. Adam was very very gracious and kind,
and during the transition he gave me a lot of advice.
In the beginning, he was very supportive. He kind of
warned me about what could be coming by giving me
like hints of ah, you're gonna like your next position.
And I most certainly did shout out to jeff aia
Frady for basically welcome me in, welcoming me in immediately,
(16:52):
even though there was a bit of a firestorm. Me
taking Adam bay Dune's seat was not super popular at
the time, but me and Jeff created something great. Lucas
class well Man, we were a original phenomenal team. But hey,
once that kind of disbanded, I got myself another phenomenal team.
I'm pretty amalleable, as they say, but I always get
(17:15):
good teammates though. I'm like Tyrese Haliburton, just get good teammates.
You guys always make the plays.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
Hey, JK three on three.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Sam's personality is the best part of Wake Up Woodward.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Man, Hey, it's a part. I'm a fan of flannel.
Speaker 5 (17:30):
Hey, and you know what, man Like, I'm just looking
at the love and the chat.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Now.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
You guys are always the biggest part of not just
Wake Up Woolward, not just our personal journeys, but what
we're sports. This is something, it's something amazing, something that
people want to be a part of. And uh, it's
been because of what our endeavors have been, our energy,
our efforts, and you gouts supporting like this has been
crazy to walk into LCA and be in downtown Detroit,
(17:55):
to be at different events and hear people say, hey,
kool Aid.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
Hey, like, bro was Vegas.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
I was out in an All Star weekend dog covering
K's first All Star and to hear people say, hey man,
how's flannel?
Speaker 2 (18:09):
And I'm looking for.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Like that, Like, hey, Bro, tell KG what up black Hollywood?
And I'm like, I'm cool, Like it's it's it was dope, man.
And that's what this platform has afforded us, to be
able to meet the people that we have, the interact
that we have, the Ryan's reactions that Freddie felt driving
out the Hamlet's Pub and then realizing, wait, you don't
(18:30):
live here.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Why are you? Why are you driving all the way here.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
From Indiana to help us set up for a postgam
show before anyone that's really knowing what what word sports is?
Speaker 5 (18:37):
Right, That's what this has been.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
So it's like, if they're gonna do it, why not us?
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Man?
Speaker 4 (18:42):
Why not us? Freddy felt, I'm curious. It's so hard
to say goodbye to yesterday shout out the super chat
Ay this, you're exactly right, that's yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
I had to put some things on hold. There were conversations,
there were things so Vegas.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
This unfortunately could not happen.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
Goodness, at least the pistons.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
They making it happening out there right right, Bta pistons
and shout out Roy Hallah.
Speaker 7 (19:08):
Shout out they got a game today.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
Oh goodness.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
We were sitting here wondering, like do we do this Thursday?
Do we do this today? And shout out to Stick
as well, who's helped to coach us through this process.
You know, he was like a lot of people do
not get this opportunity. A lot of people it's just hey,
thank you. Your new show is done today and you
get told that after your show, and we get the
(19:33):
opportunity to come in here and be able to tell
you guys a little bit early. We've known some rumblings
for some time, so uh, you know, I appreciate you
guys for being true professionals straight up, and in turn, Ryan,
before we get to.
Speaker 5 (19:46):
You have what I'm saying, Hey, what up.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Do I mean? I don't know.
Speaker 8 (19:49):
I'm sure you'll have a much more popular guests than me.
But I just wanted to to thank you guys for
just allowing an intern to say a couple of things
throughout the asked two wish months, two wish months, just
a little bit below that, But yeah, I just want
to thank you guys for everything and helping me grow
as a broadcaster the last two months. And if I've
(20:12):
learned anything from the show, it's that Terry's Haliburn's a bum.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
I'm so proud, so proud, hey, And you know what,
i wasn't gonna weep, but now I'm gonna weep tears
of joy.
Speaker 5 (20:30):
And I'll still be doing still be doing pistons here.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
Yeah, I'm gonna be doing some more streams with you
as well, KG with that and getting other people like
Platty and others in the streams, so you know, I'll
still be doing that and uh, looking forward to any
other of the side content as well. So Jeff Famy
has been great though, actually it's been amazing. It's been
something where it's like do you want to get up
and grind? Do you want to be up all night
(20:55):
doing graphics? Do you want to be up in the morning,
you know, all night studying and taking notes and screenshotting
and sending stuff in doing our other duties, getting up
at four am and doing stuff. Man Like, I'm like, man,
dog got a baby or two? Through this process, it's
been it's been, man.
Speaker 5 (21:12):
But why do we do this?
Speaker 3 (21:14):
I'm gonna continue to set this chat family because of
you guys. So if you get the opportunity today and
throughout the rest of this week, smash that like button
for the WO Crew.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Long Live the Woot, Long Live the Woo and the
Jay Hart. Is this the whole show going away or
just Sam I'm confused, Well, this iteration, this is the
last week of that, But kool Aid's already found another
role in this network that he's started partially now and
going to really dive into next week. It's looking like
I'm gonna do the same. But be sure to give
(21:48):
this next show a fair chance. I am one thousand
percent sure when you hear who it is, you guys
are going to be like, oh shit.
Speaker 6 (21:56):
You know, like as much as I hate this departure,
I am excited for the new chapter. Y'all will absolutely
love this new iteration of the morning show. And you
know the person at.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
The head of it, So yeah, and uh d untel,
He says, what will happen with Wednesday with Rob Beard?
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Tomorrow?
Speaker 5 (22:13):
He's gonna be on tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
But if you go back before WO Crew, and there
are even times when Jeff Fire Freddie would be on
this show and and sometimes with dip Bro, especially in
the chair he would leave. It was because we used
to actually do this thing for almost two and a
half years with Rob Beard out of Studio B or
either from my home. So we will continue to do
the podcast. We will upload them at one o'clock. We're
(22:37):
working to see if there's an opportunity for live. But
actually got something else for you guys. There's somebody else.
There's another podcast on the way. I haven't even told
these guys. I'm about to say it's gonna be it's
gonna shake the Pistols world a little bit.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Okay, it is.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
It's with another one of our credential friends, so it's
actually gonna be pretty dope.
Speaker 5 (22:57):
So the Pistons coverage is gonna go up.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
I have been begging this man, please continue on with
Woover Pistons, so I'm not. You don't even have a
choice choice. So Pistons coverage is there, and I'm hoping
the wings as well.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Man.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
But Jay Hart, I'm still I'm reaching out to you
as things are settling.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
That's the only delay.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
As things are settling, I'll understand exactly where I'll.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Be able to place you here. At what we're sports.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
So uh and then mister there was another one too,
mister Stewart, I think his named Marcus Stewart.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
He hit me up.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Wayne State Broadcast journalism student, say he just wanted to
be a part of wool crew.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
But we'll still make sure that we can get.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
You in as a part of our intern. So yeah, absolutely,
man shout out to the people. Jahrt is crashing out

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Lot of the people that sat here before us.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
Because it wasn't just the people who sat here before
us just being hosts. Is that those people all had
some role to play in our.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Careers here at Woodward Sports, whether it be Terry.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Foster, Adam Badun, who a lot of people don't notice
for the however long he was on the show. Even
before that, he brought me in to be on the
social team.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
That was my first inclusion.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
It Stick and I we talked beyond the scenes in
Joey and then it was effectively Adam, who was managing things,
was like, hey, you know what, I think you'd be
a good fit here. And then the Piston stuff developed
after about a few months, and they all helped from
Terry Foster, Rod Beard, Joey Stick, Adam, they all helped
me to become a credential Pistons reporter, uh and one
(27:22):
that you know what, a lot of people are rocking
with and we've been able to expand this platform include
so many other people. And that's where you know what
the original Hollywood man shout out to Jeff Ayafreddy. There
was a lot of time that was the original because
that started on wool were Pistons, Me and Rod were
we were at it. We were on this at his neck, bro.
It was funny.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
It was funny. If you go back and look at
the old stuff. It was dope.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Uh So I just want to be able to shout
out just a few more of the people who have
established this platform. And that goes without saying the vet
of this thing, who has honestly survived.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
A lot of these changes.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
And you know what, the spirit of Flannel was still
in my opinion, I think I still live on here.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
Hey, the spirit a Flannel will live on, much to
the chagrin of mister A Dad with Tourett's Maybe me
and me and her MONI can start something together, So
we can have Dad with Torettz's Worst Nightmare. Come maybe
all eight if you need some like a guest on
w j R. Ryan her Money, actually just to come on,
come on, you know you would like it.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Come on. I actually think Dante's Spide Spit Night. I
actually do. I think Dante.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Well that's how I one of one of the ways
I got my start.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
So yeah, those were some fevrus. Oh yeah, let's jump
into the sports. Terry's Halliburton. Yes it's not better, thankye, Cunningham. No,
we gotta talk about somebody else's name begins with a T,
and that is Terry Schooble starting a game, and you
know what, we didn't know what the manager was gonna
(28:46):
do for this. We knew that our manager, Agent Hinch,
was gonna put Terry Scouoble in a position to start
that game. And in years past, I remember fans saying,
please put our guy in position to start the game,
and they were like, no regular season on and this that,
and y'ah, there are all this other stuff matters, and
I one get that. But when you put BTA to
the whole first half of the season, you give yourself
(29:07):
the opportunity to say, you know what, we'll rearrange. We'll
rearrange the schoople start to give them opportunity to pitch
in this game. And you know what, against schemes, this
feels awesome. Yeah, this feels absolutely awesome. Man, How are
you feeling about it?
Speaker 4 (29:19):
I mean, it's box office, Yes, it's box office to
the to the umptyth degree. It's probably, I would say,
right now, the two best pitchers in the game, the
two best pitchers who have an exciting style as well,
have a lot of flair, you know, have great stuff,
strike a lot of people out. Not that that matters
in terms of winning games and whatnot. But it certainly
(29:41):
adds to the box office appeal. And you know what,
I'm just glad that Trek Scooble got the recognition. I
understand that starting the All Star Game versus not starting
the All Star Game, that's not the end all, be
all or anything like that, but I think it's gonna give. Obviously,
there's gonna be a lot of reasons for US Tiger
fans tune into night because this AL team is damn
(30:03):
near the Detroit Tiger's invitational team. But to see Terrek
Scooble go out there first couple of innings, see what
he can do against the cream of the crop of
the NL lineup, like seeing him face so tawny guys
like he might not get to PCA, but guys like
Kyle Tucker. I don't know Bryce Harper's on there. I'll
(30:23):
have to check the starting lineup again. But it's just
it's it's the best of the best that baseball has
to offer.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
It is and and for me knowing the competitor that
Trek Scooble is and knowing how he's cut from the
same cloth of a lot of those Lions players who
they want everything on the plate. They want all that's theirs,
even if it's something insignificant, even if it's stuff that
us as fans say all Star appearances, they don't really matter.
It's about the ring Trek Scoopble is like, nah, all
this matters. Like to see him literally edging people on
(30:52):
on the mound, to see him starting like bench clearings
and such from the dug out, from the from the
from the bullpen, and it have to be like, oh
my bad, I'm sorry I did all of this. It's
just like I do believe he relatives in this and
for knowing who he is, for understanding that that old
English d is gonna be what steps out on that mouth.
First for the al I'm looking forward to must see
Terry school if there was ever a doubt the second
(31:14):
like this All Star appearance, I'm hoping that this is
what kicks off. Have the camera on that man every
single time he's out on the mouth. I don't care
where he is in the world. I don't care if
he's pitching in Mars. Send the broadcast crew because Terry
Scooble is that dude. And I'm hoping that we get
the theatrics. I'm hoping we get cycle, scoops. I'm hoping
he's into it. I'm hoping he's barking and doing.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
All that stuff.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
And when you hear him, they already ask him like,
you know, what are you hoping to face? What are
you hope He's like, I'm hoping I just face three batters. Yeah,
like my dog's already talking that talk.
Speaker 5 (31:44):
That's a clean inning.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
And for some reason, my brain fell asleep when I
was thinking of the NL All Stars. If you couldn't tell,
maybe Ronald Lacunia versus A versus Terry Schooble. That'll be
an interesting one to me because Acunya is alrighty. I
have a little bit of shoe with him starting the
All Star Game because he didn't play the majority of
the year, but at least when he played, he was
(32:05):
absolutely dominants. That's a fun matchup. But then again, on
the other side, how about Paul Skeens versus Riley Green.
That'll be fun. That'll be a lot of fun. I
can't wait to see it, like like the two best
most exciting pitchers in the game. And just for a
couple of US stats because you know I always bring
those Trek Scooble He leads the American League and pitching
(32:28):
wins above replacement whip strikeouts to a walk ratio, and
field independent pitching Paul Skeins leads the National League and
pitchers wore era and fielder independent pitching as well. Just
cannot wait to watch, cannot wait to watch the whole
game because we're just gonna be seeing Tigers running all
up and down the field. Hopefully Casey Myz gets an
(32:49):
appearance as well. We can't necessarily guarantee that because there's
only nine innings, but it's gonna be fun. It's been
a long time since. Even last year when the Tigers
made the playoffs, they weren't what they were at the
end of the year. At the All Star break, they
were still a team that looked like they were selling.
So this is the first All Star team in a
long time, the first All Star Game in a long
time where I'm like, must see TV for Tiger purposes. Obviously,
(33:12):
I love baseball, I love the best of the best,
but this year it's for Tiger purposes above all, above anything.
Tyr's got six of them things, six people.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
Six things, But I love that. Got to throw it
over to the booth as well. One mister KG with
fire shirt. He fe I told you man, me and wife,
we were just watched the live action the other day.
Speaker 6 (33:31):
Man, right, I can't wait for the new one. Yeah,
the original Goat movie, but the new one. Imot refer
to that dead casting and that new one is nuts, bro.
That script better be on point. But no, absolutely excited
for this Tigers, you know all star iteration because you know,
we haven't had this in a long time, since twenty thirteen,
first time we have had, you know, six all stars
(33:52):
in the All Star Game, and I'm definitely looking forward
to it. Yeah, you know, Schooboy his box office. He
gonna go out there and put his best foot forward
and give you a show. I don't know how crazy
or psycho he can get in two winnings of work,
but I wouldn't put it past him.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
Tho, I wouldn't put it past him. But just the
fact that it's not just.
Speaker 6 (34:10):
One player like school what we expect, because he's all
world like we already know he's the best picture on
Guy's Green Earth. But you know, to see Riley Green
get that nod again, you know, to see Glabor Torres,
who I call you know, first year you even see
how they fucking bayas man to say what you want?
The fact that he is in the All Star Game
in any way, shape or form. That's just going to
(34:32):
show you the season that the Tigers are having, and
I want them to have fun. Enjoy this, and then
let's get ready to get back to work. Man after
this half fun?
Speaker 5 (34:40):
How many of them things they got?
Speaker 4 (34:41):
Six six.
Speaker 7 (34:44):
Smooth mile stopped again?
Speaker 12 (34:46):
KG, I love the shirt over there, appreciate say, but
I hope the new Street Fighter movie is cool, but
that first Street Fighter movie was terrible?
Speaker 2 (34:54):
What are you on?
Speaker 6 (34:55):
No, it's a Colt classic, bro, all it wants to be.
That's like hating on the original Mortal What did he.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
See anything more than scenes? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (35:05):
Did you see any of John club Van damn scene?
Speaker 6 (35:08):
Yes, there would be no Johnder.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
In this studio. You know what.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
We're not doing the work on Saturday, like because we
got to watch that movie JV.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
That movie was terrible watching.
Speaker 12 (35:22):
You can go back right now and rewatch the movie
and be like, you know what, as a key watch
ago it was JB.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
That's all we had. We want Mortal comb Mortal comment
was so much better.
Speaker 6 (35:35):
It was better, but still street wasn't there was no
fighting in the streets.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
He is right about that. It was good jab to
make this.
Speaker 7 (35:48):
A story movie. I'm like, no, make it the video video.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
Games wenton had his nostalgia rule by the snack rap
for everybody else's a nostalgia Now.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
This dry snack rack.
Speaker 5 (36:02):
You know what, all y'all stuff sucks. Shout out today.
Speaker 12 (36:05):
We definitely got to do that because I do know
some behind the scenes stuff about the first Street Fighter movie.
Speaker 7 (36:10):
That will it's probably a little shocking.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
To a lot of people really.
Speaker 12 (36:14):
Yeah, and one of the actors was, you know, showed
up to the set very late every single day.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
Hi.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
So yeah, I wonder which that want this man, we're
gonna have to talk about that shout out. I'm sure
that there's no Detroit Tigers doing that though, not at all.
Speaker 13 (36:29):
No.
Speaker 5 (36:30):
I hope they're not showing up everything.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
They might be, but as long as they perform, that's
my rule.
Speaker 5 (36:34):
He Hobby can do that because he his aura.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
Yeah he does.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
He transcends how much? How much Hobby or do you
think he's gonna be on display tonight?
Speaker 2 (36:43):
None? Dale, So you don't expect her to make no
plays at all.
Speaker 4 (36:48):
Guys. It's not because I don't like him, it's I
do like him. By the way, it's because or it
doesn't exist. That's my stock answer.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
But you argue it to death, but they don't exist.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
No, because people use it, use it as an excuse
to knock people that like it's funny. That's always people
that I.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
Like, Sam, You're not someone that believes yourself has order.
You don't think you have an order? You have or no,
I don't you have you have?
Speaker 4 (37:10):
I probably don't. I don't know why I like, you know,
all of a sudden forgot that I went through puberty
for a second there.
Speaker 5 (37:15):
But it is what it is.
Speaker 6 (37:16):
In my near Rule voice. When you walk in the room,
the physiology changes. You know, everybody sits up and they
see a little bit when saying walking, Hey.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
I like the way man, the whole Neil inflection to
the whole way you're right age Neil Rule voice.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Now he's always oh yeah, and it shout out to
Neil as well. He's somebody that I probably didn't give
enough thanks to yes this morning because a lot of
people could think, like trust me, long live the flannel
and Neil bad shows. I know a lot of you
guys enjoyed those days. Yes, yeah, trust me. I I
I almost had to at one point get like a
(37:51):
quadruple bypass at age thirty because of Thember. That's all right,
that's all right, it's passion.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
I do want to you, uh interned Ryan, when the
Tigers were hot JV and those guys were making All
Star Games, what was your perspective, like high school, middle school.
Speaker 14 (38:07):
I would have been elementary.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
School, element So this is different for you this.
Speaker 14 (38:11):
Because I remember, oh, I guess I should change my camera.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
I wanted I wanted your perspective on this because for me,
I've seen this, and we got to see this a
couple of times. We're like, oh, we got a few
of them things in an All Star game. I wanted
to get your perspective on what this means for you
compared to UH, when you were just so that team,
probably you were like, you know what, I like these Tigers,
similar to how I was coming off of the air
of the bad Boy Pistons and I locked in and
(38:36):
it was a long time before I saw something good.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
Man.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
It's now with you with the Tigers, we're seeing something good.
And this All Star Game, I think is the start
of something really nice this season.
Speaker 14 (38:47):
Yeah, it's kind of a testament to the whole city
of how they're all all the teams are really becoming good.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
I wish the red means a little bit better.
Speaker 14 (38:53):
But but no, going back to the Tigers there, I
think I was third, third or fourth grade.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
I think I think when the Tigers were like because.
Speaker 14 (39:02):
I know sixth grade was the Orioles series because I
remember uh like trying to get the teachers to play
the game on the on the TV and the class.
You but even even during March badness, I would get
the teachers to play the.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Games in the game.
Speaker 14 (39:17):
But no, back to your point is, yeah, it's an
awesome feature to see. It's great to see, and it
means a lot to me because kind of after that
middle school year of the Tigers and the Orioles there,
Detroit sports just.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
Kind of went on on a decline. I mean the
Pistons kind of. Yeah, the Piston.
Speaker 14 (39:34):
The Pistons were in the playoffs I believe twice, but
they didn't win a game the Bucks in that series.
Speaker 4 (39:39):
But no, it's great to see.
Speaker 14 (39:40):
I remember Prince Fielder winning the home run Derby when
when I was a little uh Miggy's triple crown, and
even opening days were just awesome because I was always
downtown Detroit seeing those those awesome.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
Games and and just being around it.
Speaker 14 (39:53):
So it's great to see and as a younger person
and my friends, we love it just because it's yours.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
This you're locked in run man, huh.
Speaker 14 (40:02):
Yeah, yeah, this is I would say the Lions little
stretch here, the Pistons this past season, and the Tigers
past years. It kind of hits home because you know,
I never witnessed that. I never witnessed the Pistons winning championship.
I kind of vaguely remember the Red Wings Stanley Cup,
but other than that, I don't really have much.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
Man, red Wings get it together. We're right there on
the cuffs. We're right through the cuss.
Speaker 5 (40:22):
That's what's awesome.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
We're talking about four teams making the playoffs. We're talking
about several of these teams being contenders in their in
their respective conferences, you know, and we're talking about the
Pistons who are trying to lock in being a top fourteen.
We're talking about the Red Wings, who, if they wanted
to really go in, I believe they have what they need.
To be able to go on play an off season
sign the right guys.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
But I get it, they.
Speaker 3 (40:44):
Don't want just a flash and a paying playoff appearance.
So hopefully to get together because this type of stuff
is fun.
Speaker 5 (40:50):
And I do believe that.
Speaker 3 (40:51):
When you get the Red Wings in every year, we're
gonna be looking at all Star Games, no matter the sport,
and we're gonna be seeing representation from Detroit out there
every single year.
Speaker 4 (41:01):
Not to get on my soapbox, but and this is
where I part ways with even some of my fellow
Red Wings brethren, this idea that making the playoffs isn't important.
It's like, we don't need to make the playoffs until
we're cup contentment. Come on, come on, come on, you
gotta make the playoffs. If the Red Wings don't make
the playoffs this year, Steve, why is app so freaking
(41:22):
lutely on the hot seat? Sorry? Justin If you were here,
we would probably like hash it out together. And I
actually think we're probably more aligned than we are apart
because neither of us are super happy with this Red
Wings offseason up to this point. I just think that
the lack of urgency, even if management is never gonna
(41:43):
do anything. If Stevie, why has this a lifetime contract?
I will use whatever power that I have to put
my version of pressure on them.
Speaker 3 (41:53):
Man shout out to Greg. I don't care what Sam says.
I still love the guy. Love you too, Greg, Greg,
I've been saying auto support from you guys throughout the morning.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
Man, it's been awesome.
Speaker 3 (42:03):
Let's say what up down to some friends and we'll
get back to some more tigers talk.
Speaker 4 (42:08):
Yes, yes, because uh it's uh, it's narrative dispelment time
with old flannel Sam, I know everybody's favorite segment.
Speaker 14 (42:15):
Uh yeah, we got less Stanford.

you know what, thank you guys for the continued support.
(44:50):
If you guys get the opportunity to go ahead and
smash that like button final, Sam, Let's get back into
some Tigers.
Speaker 4 (44:57):
Yes, and one thing, because I like to talk about
these things during the All Star break because this is
one of the few chances where numbers stay.
Speaker 2 (45:07):
Put for a while.
Speaker 4 (45:08):
You get a definite sample size of before the All
Star break, and in this case with the Tigers, I
believe it was ninety seven games. And what I've seen
from these ninety seven games is a team that, despite
a lot of what you hear, the least of the
Tigers priorities should be to get a hitter at the
(45:29):
trade deadline, not the most, the least. Whether they do
or don't get a hitter at the trade deadline will
not impact how I feel about this team in terms
of their World Series chances at all bullpen that's another conversation.
We talked about that yesterday. But I want to dispel
some narratives because I still feel like around this town
there is this narrative that this lineup is less than,
(45:51):
that they are a bit ragtag, that there is just
too many specialists, they have trouble against left handed pitching, YadA, YadA, YadA.
So what I want to do is to just lay
it all out there for you. Guys, get you, guys
more on my side with a silly little thing called numbers,
Ryan care.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
To put up?
Speaker 4 (46:11):
Ops's by Tiger Hitters in twenty twenty five. This, what
this will show you is that the Tigers have a
lot of like Riley Green is a star. He's having
a superstar type season. But ooh, that's the wrong one.
That that's the wrong one. Ops is by Tiger Hitters
twenty twenty five. Not well it yeah, that was go back,
(46:35):
go back, We'll go back to you. Was it ops
versus lefties?
Speaker 2 (46:41):
No?
Speaker 4 (46:41):
Ops is by Tiger hitters, just by Tiger hears. It
was the first one that I put.
Speaker 2 (46:46):
I thought that was it.
Speaker 4 (46:48):
Well, we'll get in the slack, don't worry. I thought
it was all right, fine, okay. So so all right, no, no, no,
it's a it's my bad. So the point that I'm
trying to make is that this is a very very
good and lineup.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
I got you.
Speaker 4 (47:05):
I didn't even hear that.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
Price is wrong.
Speaker 5 (47:09):
All right.
Speaker 4 (47:10):
So so Riley Green eight seventy nine Ops, that's a
superstar caliber season. And I think he's right on the
verge verge of having a superstar calibers like being a superstar.
This man is putting up Miguel Cabrera's type power numbers
in the first half, not with the average, not with
the OBP, not with the ops, but the homers and RBIs.
This man could finish the season with forty and one
(47:31):
twenty if he keeps up this pace. Zach McKinstry ops
of eight thirty six, Spencer Torkelsen eight twenty six, Glaber
Torrez eight twelve, Cole Keith seven eighty, Carrie Carpenter seven eighty,
Hovey Byas seven fifty two, Dylan Dingler seven nineteen. Thank
you so much, Ryan, That is the one I was
looking for. These are eight guys who play damn near
(47:52):
every day who have had objectively good to great seasons.
It's not like just a few guys car the lineup.
It's not just a few guys going through hot streaks
and regressing to the mean. These are eight guys who
have done it from beginning to end. If you want
to say, Carry Carpenter's been a little bit disappointing. Fine,
still brings the power on the IL right now, still
(48:13):
seven eighty. But I'm not done. There's another group of
four hitters that I think could also be intriguing for
the Tigers come playoff time, and for whatever reason, they
didn't qualify for these eight spots on my list. Do
you have the supplementary Tiger hitters ones, mister Ryan Galinski,
(48:34):
thank you, thank you, thank you, And these are summaries.
Jami Jones in a very small sample size nine fifty
seven ops and eighty one at bats. Wenzel Perez, who's
a switch hitter, by the way, whose only crime this
year was starting the season hurt An eight twenty five
ops and one hundred and thirty at bats. Parker Meadows,
and I get it, Parker Medos has not been good
(48:55):
this year. This is why I put Meadows and Veerlin
kind of in their own separate category. As you see,
the ops's I used are not from this year, they're
from last year. Twenty twenty four ops seven forty three
and two hundred and seventy at bats. We all know
how effective and how great he was to end the year,
and he was also very very good in the playoffs.
Matt Vierling twenty twenty four ops seven thirty five. So
(49:18):
to me, the Tigers could potentially go twelve deep with
competent good too great hitters. If all of these guys
and on my first list keep playing up to their potential,
and maybe Parker, Meadows and Vierling can get healthy and
get it going. Jami Jones can be a contributor. When
(49:38):
sel Perez can keep playing like he's played when he's
been healthy, the Tigers could be twelve deep of good
hitters until you get to the Trey Sweeney's and the
drape in the a Jake Rodgerses of the world, or
if you end up calling up a Bonyez or ad
Justin Henry Maloy. This is a good and deep lineup
and should be treated as such. Do they have an
Otani No? Do they have Judge?
Speaker 2 (50:00):
No?
Speaker 4 (50:01):
But I'll tell you what they do have. There's nobody
on the Houston Astros that has a higher OPS in
eight seventy nine. There's nobody on the Toronto Blue Jays
who has a higher ops than eight seventy nine. Whether
you like it or not, Riley Green has been the
best positional player in the American League besides for Aaron
Judge and cal Raley. They got a star, and they
got a whole lot of supplementary pieces who are playing
(50:23):
like stars, including McKinstry, torres Hove who are actual All Stars.
Speaker 3 (50:28):
Yeah, I'm so glad that you're laying this thing out
like this because I'm as it relates to the Bats,
this is something that for a few years we've been
screaming that we thought we need. Now we're looking at
this Tiger seem in a position where I still am
very very confident in who they can be going forward.
Speaker 5 (50:45):
I know there's a lot of people who there are
parked up.
Speaker 3 (50:47):
Their tension is a little bit more slated towards that bullpen,
and rightfully so is where you want to see the
Tigers going bolster things.
Speaker 5 (50:54):
But I don't even understand where the Bats came from.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
Like I know that even UKG even in who labor toys,
could be There's no way that anybody out there believe
that what we would that we would get this out
of the Tigers, where you would have six All Stars
and a couple other players potentially that you're like man
and they had some pretty compelling cases too, looking at
your dealing Dinglers of the World and your special Tolkosin's
and has carried this team to fifty nine wins before
(51:19):
the All Star break.
Speaker 2 (51:20):
KG.
Speaker 6 (51:21):
Yeah, no, absolutely. And where I want to ask Sam,
is you know you put up the twenty twenty four
numbers for Parker Medos and Matt Verling rightfully so, because
one they've been injured most of the year, and.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
Too they just haven't had a really good start.
Speaker 6 (51:33):
And I am starting to get somewhat worried with Parker Medals.
Of course, you do want to be patient because we
know defensively he is elite, like you need, absolutely need
that glove in the outfield, but just his offense yet again,
is taking a bit of a slump.
Speaker 2 (51:49):
And then Matt Verling is you know, he hasn't been right.
Speaker 6 (51:52):
You know, since he's been back, he's had a little
more time than Parker Meadows has. But are you concerned
about these two at all, like going forward?
Speaker 4 (51:59):
Yeah, one hundred percent I am. But that's why I
put them at the bottom of the list of eight
guys who have been doing it every day this year
and been playing well, plus Jami Jones, plus wen sieal
Perez and then them of course Parker Meadows when you
look at everything but the end to last year in
the playoffs, which was fantastic by the way, a lot
(52:21):
of bad prolonged egregious slumps like at the beginning of
last year at the beginning of this year. It's not
just that he's bad, it's that he's unplayable. Of course,
I'm concerned. I've talked about Parker Meadows. When he's on
he may have the most diverse bag on the team.
He may be the most five tool ish player on
the team. The problem is is that I wonder if
(52:45):
Parker Meadows can ever hit consistently, that might be the
tool that doesn't end up being there long term. Forever
grateful for what he did last year, Forever grateful for
what he did in the playoffs, think that he can
turn it around. But yes, I'm concerned, and with my
Matt Vivereling just quickly. The reason why I'm not concerned
with Matt Verling is he hasn't really been healthy and
(53:05):
why I'm not like out on him. I'm a little concerned.
And Matt Vereling has been very good for the Tigers
the last two years. He's got a sample size. Even
in twenty twenty three when the team was losing, he's
still played I think above what was expected of him.
If Parker and Matt Parker Meadows and Matt Verlin can
get it together, though, Man, this this lineup could be
(53:25):
very dangerous.
Speaker 2 (53:26):
To kind of just oh my bad real quick, Oh no, yeah, yeah,
you can go now.
Speaker 3 (53:29):
I want to just be able to gauge because I
know you said, you know, concerning with those guys, it
does it relate to just those players individually, or as
it relates to what you think it could do to
the Tiger season, what it could mean to the Tiger season.
Speaker 4 (53:42):
I don't think Parker Meadows and mat or Matt Virling
is gonna make or break anything. However, it would be
really nice if they could get it together a bit
and get healthy and actually put together some consistent games
under their belt. We know what happen with Matt Vieling.
He was back and then he was out again, and
now he's back.
Speaker 5 (54:00):
And he's definite.
Speaker 2 (54:02):
If they're one.
Speaker 4 (54:02):
Hundred percent definite, and that's the thing, if one of
them are on, then maybe that could account for What
if Jamai Jones is the ultimate flash in the pan.
It's very possible, by the way, what if I hate
to say it, Jave Bayaz slumps. What if Carrie Carpenter
continues to not stay healthy, which he never really has
throughout his career. This injury looks to be a bit minor,
(54:24):
but you just never know. I think it would be
very advantageous for Parker Meadows and Matte Veerling to be
back and playing well again. But I don't think it's
a make or break, but it's definitely a ceiling razer,
no doubt about it.
Speaker 6 (54:36):
It'll definitely be helpful, and you know, the way you
laid out all of the stats, I absolutely agree with you.
I think part of Tigers fans problems is that, you know,
when we were the ten and a half back Tigers,
when we were you know, the the May, June and
July just horrible baseball Tigers. I think a lot of
people just have preconceived notions for what that version of
the Tigers was to what they are now. And maybe
(54:59):
that's why they still have doubts is because we've seen
this lineup, because they've let's be real, they've kept pretty
much all of the same pieces from last year. They
didn't do much to add in the all season. We
are looking at the exact same players that we saw
struggle last year, and a lot of those fans they
already have in their heads that the bottom is going
to fall out eventually, because we have seen the bottom
(55:20):
fall out on this offense. Nobody was expecting this offensive
explosion like to start the year. We were all saying,
they need to go get bats, they need at least
one or two extra bats, you know, they need to
fix the nfield defense. It was all because they did
not make any significant moves in the off season, and
we are doing this with relatively the same players. But
to their credit, they've been able to step up in
(55:41):
a major way. I mean from the young guys onto
the veterans. So I think that's where Tigers fans reservations
really come from and maybe why some people may still
doubt what this version of the Tigers is. It's kind
of like any Jared Goff, you know, haters that hate
Jared Golf in.
Speaker 2 (55:57):
The Lion's uniform.
Speaker 6 (55:58):
It's preconceived notions from what you've seen before, and that's
why you fully don't believe in this version of jaredgar
And I.
Speaker 3 (56:05):
Think it's because with each precipice that you push forward,
the anngst isn't about what have you done for me before?
It's about are you able to get me further? Nobody here,
Nobody here is gonna question if a Jared Golf can
get the Lions to the playoffs. No one's gonna question
if he can win them a game they used to Yeah,
but now where has the goal post been moved? And
(56:27):
rightfully so? Can you win the biggest game now? And
that's where the Lions are. Right with the Tigers, there
are a lot of people who I wonder how much
they believe in last year's Tigers. I wonder how much
they believe in this year's Tigers, because you're right, I've
seen a whole lot more worries start to creep up
over the last month, whereas realistically, my biggest concern has
been and probably still rest with the bullpen.
Speaker 5 (56:48):
And then right behind him, Jack Flarity.
Speaker 3 (56:50):
That's probably the name you've heard me talk about a
lot this year.
Speaker 4 (56:52):
Man, Hey, but Jack Fleridy started Game one of the
World Series last year, Seve sixty in the playoffs. Snel
rule to be there so bad. When I was watching that,
I'm like, let me at this man, please. It's Neil,
part of the Flarity family.
Speaker 3 (57:07):
The way he defends that wouldn't say that it hasn't
really slowed him down but the Bats, that's something that
we see context behind.
Speaker 4 (57:15):
That said, I wanted to be on that show so
bad some context. There is no context Jack Flaherty, if
you trust him implicitly, I don't know what to tell you.
Speaker 17 (57:27):
I'm sorry, But better options do The Tigers have Casey
of course, but you're not gonna get anybody better, you know,
than Jack Flaherty on the start.
Speaker 4 (57:38):
Fine, I'm not saying kick him out of the rotation.
Speaker 9 (57:40):
But if he's second, I wouldn't be mad at it either,
just based off experience, I.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
Know he's a fucking volatile option. We all know that.
I'll call him a loose cannon cop all the time.
Sometimes he gonna make their rest.
Speaker 6 (57:50):
Sometimes he's gonna cost fifty thousand dollars in city damage.
Speaker 9 (57:53):
But ultimately I would much rather ride with Jack Flaherty.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
If they do decide he's the number two.
Speaker 7 (57:59):
I'm cool with it.
Speaker 4 (58:00):
I get it, But like, I don't know, and I
know the specter of Neil and Flannel kind of hovers
above everything even when we're not together. But like this
man wants to kick Justin Verlander out of the Hall
of Fame practically for his World series failings.
Speaker 2 (58:14):
But somewhere.
Speaker 4 (58:17):
Jack Flaherty was objectively ass in the World Series last year,
objectively ass in the playoffs last year. They won in
spite of him.
Speaker 6 (58:25):
You'll be talking out of hurt when it comes to
j V though he is mad at the fact that
he gave ut he.
Speaker 3 (58:30):
Walked out, But isn't that that's that's appropriate though, That's
what we're talking about here right now. And that's where
I think Tiger's fans are. I wonder how much do
you actually believe in this Detroit Tigers team? Is that
where a lot of the concern comes from. Or are
we so starred for a title that we're getting so
antsy at that everything that could trip us up, especially
with the Lions. You know, a large part of us
(58:52):
we were all right, even with the injuries. We continued
to see them bt A. And when that commander's game
went down the way that he did, it was a
lot of pain everywhere, from people who expected it, from
people who didn't expect it, but all across Detroit. And
now all of a sudden, you do you see not
just national media but even some people here who are
starting to say, nah, man, this this schedule is tough.
Speaker 2 (59:11):
Nah.
Speaker 3 (59:12):
They lost the two coordinators and a lot of that
kind of faith and belief they built up over the
last two years of getting to where they've gotten. Now
teams are saying now fans are all saying the same thing.
Show me what you guys do in the playoffs effectively,
you know, with the Tigers, I do I wonder how
much fans believe in this team being a true World
Series contender this season.
Speaker 6 (59:31):
And to add to that point, it's kind of like
our histories are working against us much in the way
of the of the Lions. A lot of people are
losing faith because they have, you know, seen the Lions
just drop the ball numerous times. So I can't the
Lions have found new, in inventive ways to fail that shit,
So I can't kind of understand some people that may
(59:58):
let me don't me my god, that plays into it, and
they're saying what the Tiger's history.
Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
The Tiger's history has shown.
Speaker 6 (01:00:04):
You even when they have been damn good at times,
they have dropped the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
Bro And that is why, you know, some people may
have resids.
Speaker 4 (01:00:11):
And one more thing, because when we get back, I
actually want to expound on this just a little bit more.
If I heard at the trade deadline that the Tigers
added a positional player. I wouldn't be mad, per se.
I just my point with all of this is that
I laid out yesterday. Why to me, in my opinion,
getting a bullpen arm or two is imperative, as in,
(01:00:34):
if they don't, I'm not picking them to win the
World Series. Straight up. I don't think getting a bat
or not getting a bat plays as big of a
role as people think. This is a damn good lineup,
has a lot of variety strengths, and like I said,
we'll get into that a little bit more after the break,
but I think a bullpen arm is by far the
most pressing need on this team. It has to be
(01:00:56):
addressed or they won't win the World Series. Not trying
to fuge on your trying to Carnival bark, it is
the World Ing Series.
Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
I agree with you.
Speaker 3 (01:01:04):
It's the same thing we talked about when you discussed
the Lions and the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
In the edge situation, do they have enough.
Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
Because the Eagles bro what they put on the Chiefs
was something different from their past rush.
Speaker 4 (01:01:15):
Something different And actually, before you go to break, shout
out to John the document that's what he's.
Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Shout out John Michaelroone.
Speaker 6 (01:01:24):

mannybody said I didn't have it all myself.
Speaker 4 (01:01:57):

Speaker 3 (01:01:58):

Brailan as well. Yeah, absolutely know.
Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
And I'm grateful to have that type of support around me.
And it's what inspires us. I think here at this
company try and do the same for each other because
we know, you know, even the way it's for it, man,
it's about that same type of atmosphere, that same type
of environment. So to be there to be included, you
know what, that that stuff it's worth. It's worth so
much more than even a dollar combined. So I'm I'm
(01:09:47):
prayerful and hopeful that that new show was gonna be
awesome and breathing and shop there they're extat.
Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Yeah, they're a great combo. Man. I enjoyed the show.
Yeah it was.
Speaker 3 (01:09:57):
It was dope, and I saw the chat family as well.
The likes were way up on it, So shout out
to you guys for giving the show a great reception.
Continue to support all things Woodward sports. And those lights
go a long way. Those lights go a long way.
So if you can't, definitely go ahead and smash that
like button, what fel sand what up?
Speaker 4 (01:10:14):
But we see, uh, I've done a super chat for
Rando smalls, instant gratification, you all want it now and
everything that's not baseball. I don't see any snark to
that whatsoever. I know you got a little mad when
I dared to be a little bit concerned about Parker
medals with his tough start, but I also said that
I'm not giving up on him and that he could
potentially play a big role. Hey, Rando, I've done nothing
(01:10:39):
today but even but basically, pimp your boyfriend Torki because
he's actually been good. She was happiness. Rando smalls, I'm
sorry I didn't want to call love you because that's
like the nickname I gave to his fan base last year,
and he has earned Spencer Chorclsen this year. But man,
it's very uh parental in its nature. Sometimes don't talk
(01:11:03):
about my turky. You gotta miss me shoutout s He's
had a heck of a first half.
Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
Hey, Mark, I see you in the chat.
Speaker 2 (01:11:17):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:11:17):
We appreciate you, man, Thank you guys for the support.
It's been awesome to see the response from the Chat family.
Like we said, we actually got to do this thing
right as we kind of reset or well kind of
fifteen minutes into the second hour, uh last week of
Wake Up Woodwards. And we appreciate the chat family for
all the sport they've given us. The Lion season was epic.
Victory Mondays for epic talking about these Tigers, seeing their
(01:11:40):
run start off, getting to do this with Broder, the
different guests we've had from the Dot to Rod Beard,
and all the interactions phone calls, and I'd be remiss
if I didn't mention Devin the Dog. Oh yeah, shout
to Devin a dog. He was hoping we saw his
master for the show. I sent it to you. Flannel
Samson shout out to Devin a dog who. People talk
to us about the support that we've given them, and it's.
Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
Like, bro, I don't think you understand how much you've
done for us.
Speaker 3 (01:12:05):
I can share what you said we are for you,
but in reality, brother, it's been about what you guys
have been for us, and Devin, you've been one of
the top ones, as has people like Freddie Feldt among others. Man,
So shout out to top to Gable too, who got
here a little late to the party and found out
in the chat. So shout out to you guys. So
I just wanted to make sure we reset so people
will at least little ye.
Speaker 4 (01:12:25):
For those of you who didn't tune in earlier. But yeah,
but as I said, do not weep for me. For
I am fine. You know you know what else is
more fine than I think a lot of people give
credit for. And I'm sorry I'm filibustering with baseball stats today,
but damn it, I'm passionate about it. The other major
trope that you hear or talking point, and I'm not
(01:12:46):
saying that an addition would be bad, but I'm saying
I think it's incredibly overblown. Is it's not just that
the Tigers need a bat, it has to be a
right handed bat because they will just crumble against left
handed pitching. And I disagree with that. I disagree with
that wholeheartedly. And uh JB. Do you have the Tigers
(01:13:07):
hitters ops's versus lefties in twenty twenty five graphic to
a put up? And this is what I'm talking about
right here, And this is Tiger's hitters ops's versus lefties
in twenty twenty five. Zach McKinstry ninety nine, Spencer Torklsen
a prodigious one point zero zero three, Glaber Torres nine
sixty three, Javier Baia's eight fifty two, Jami Jones one
(01:13:29):
point zero four to three and thirty five at bats,
smaller sample size when Seal Perez a prodigious one point
two four four in twenty eight at bats he is
a switch hitter. And also, this is where you guys
are gonna have to not have it both ways. If
you agree with me and you agree with premises, this
doesn't apply to you. Did you know, hey, guys, this
(01:13:52):
is a power stat for everyone in the room. This
is one that I'm very, very proud of. But it's
actually not that hard to figure out. The Detroit are
the only team in Major League Baseball to have two
All Star starter right handed hitters. But I have to
hear about is that they don't have anyone and they
need one, Glaber Torres and Hobby Bayez. So if you're
(01:14:15):
pimping Hobby Bayez but also clamoring for a right handed hitter,
why not Hobvey. Hobby's gonna be the guy, or you
guys may come to my side a little bit and
admit some of his limitations. They'll be fine against lefties.
They'll be fine because I'm looking at this as a
playoff lineup. I'm looking at all six of those guys,
(01:14:37):
Riley Green, Dylan Dingler, then maybe Matt Vierling, and then
on the bench you've got Cole Keith and Carry Carpenter
and Parker Meadows that you can deploy. They're gonna be
fine against lefties. If you want to say that Jami
Jones is somebody that you can't trust, it's a flash
in the pan. The playoffs and World Series in past
(01:14:57):
are full of flashes in the pan. Did you know
that Justin Henry Maloy had an ops of over fourteen
hundred in the playoffs last year? Where is he now?
Did you know that Andy Abanyez had the biggest hit
of the first round, that three run triple to break
the tie against the Astros. Where is he now? Did
you know that some of the bigger hits came from
(01:15:18):
Jake Rodgers last year in the playoffs? Where is he now?
Just saying everything's gonna be fine. You could if they
want to go out and get a right handed bat, fine,
they don't need one nearly as bad as they need
a bullpen arm. This lineup is going to be a okay.
Speaker 3 (01:15:36):
Man, my man playing with firever they're going for the
goat the Wallers one, Jake Rogers out, man, it's out
the final. But you know, and I see some support
for you as well in the chat for the stats
that you put up here, and I do. The other
reason why I do believe that they're going to be
fine from a bat's perspective is we saw this team
hit a stride bat wise. We saw them be able
(01:15:58):
to send guys down to the majors and get some
things figured out. We hope that that would be even
more consistent and stride over four hundred and sixty two games.
Speaker 5 (01:16:07):
But baseball is a fickle sport.
Speaker 3 (01:16:09):
And what we've seen this hitting staff and the developments
to be able to do is have realistically people be
able to give contributions from a pluy through of different places,
you know, And that, to me, it has been one
of the underlying reasons why this Tiger team is where
they are. We've been monitoring the hits per game, we've
been monitoring the runs per game, and we've been also
(01:16:29):
monitoring okay, wow, Roddy Greens in the slump and Spencer
Charcolson is in a mini one as well, hot where
to getting the offense from? And we look and we're like, oh, okay, well,
look at these other players up and down the roster.
To me, that's a sign of a good team. When
I used to look back at those A's teams that
were always pesky, they always had players like that. When
you look at those Royals teams that were pesky, it
was like a team full of guys like that. When
(01:16:50):
we in NBA terms, when you look at even the Pacers,
how many people knew they're three point shooters by name.
Speaker 4 (01:16:57):
You know, people are not a good three point shooter
in the regular season till they need to benefit Tyrese
Halibert and he can't fucking miss Chrisins.
Speaker 3 (01:17:04):
Fans were talking about them all regular season, but you
know they knew his name in the playoffs. And that's
what I'm saying. When you have that many players, because
and I thought that you did a great job at
death three four shooters around, you're all star, You're all
NBA players right when you have that, Look how much
better it was for this team to be able to
navigate the ups in the downs. The Pacers went through
freaking injuries and I thought Pistons.
Speaker 2 (01:17:24):
Gonna catch them.
Speaker 3 (01:17:25):
There were one game behind, and nope, not only did
they whoop the Pistons, but but they just continue to
just steady the ship no matter what those stars were
doing up and down. Why because they had this depth throughout.
And when I look at the Tigers, I do believe
they've built the right way. When you're talking about building
for now and long term, before you go and you
just cash out, figure out.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
What you have.
Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
Once you see what you have, put them in the
best positions to succeed. That doesn't mean just the positions
on the field, but everything they've done along the lines
of the development, bringing in Chris Feeder, bringing in bad
Are the hitting coach. Shout out to Matt Brother who
you know, gave us some of that type of information
on one of the previous shows. This is where I believe
the Tigers success is right now in getting more out
(01:18:09):
of these other, uh, you know, supplemental hitters as you
would call them. Whether people think one individual player will
be able to maintain this or not, the Tigers have somehow,
like how they utilize pitching chaos, found a way to
utilize batting chaos, and we've seen our Tigers team.
Speaker 2 (01:18:24):
In the teams.
Speaker 4 (01:18:25):
I think batting chaos is a little bit unfair. Well,
I think it's a little bit unfair when I look
at because you can play a guy like Riley Green, Spencer,
Toorkosen Glaber, Torres, Dylan Dingler, Zach McKinstry pretty much every day.
It's not just aj Hinch being a master platooner. They've
got guys who are steady.
Speaker 5 (01:18:43):
You can play them every day.
Speaker 3 (01:18:45):
But when those guys go through slumps and you see
other players step up, when you can make the case
for two or three other players being able to make
the All Star Game, and we didn't have those guys
on our Bengo card at all to start the season.
Speaker 5 (01:18:57):
That's what I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:18:58):
They can play whatever aspect of batting chaos they want
or guess what they can do. Let their guys just
go out their bats, go out there and do what
they want to do. And that's what I'm saying. I
think it back to more what you're highlighting, because I
do believe this is a complete team. We've talked about it,
whether it's a Riley Green game or a Spencer Torcosen game,
or they're getting a couple different contributions from Zak Attack
(01:19:18):
and ding and Dingler and and Torque all the tide. Hey,
we decide we want to go off in this game together.
That that to me is more or less what I'm saying.
Not necessarily maybe the batting chaos in the way that
he uses the bullpen in a place of not having
but how he's able to go out there and boaster.
Speaker 5 (01:19:36):
Realistically, Riley Green is having a bass stretch.
Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
Have we have we.
Speaker 3 (01:19:40):
Noticed that except for the people who want to zero
in and focus in on just Ridley Green, Riley Grearrody
Green and and miss the fact that baseball is a
fisical sport and this is what happens. Look at the
contributions they've consistently gotten from the other guys, will those
will an individual player keep that up? I'm not necessarily sure,
But am I confident that they're a pool of players
that they continuing to depend on those other bats? Do
(01:20:02):
I think that they're gonna continue to get contributions overall?
Speaker 5 (01:20:05):
I one hundred percent.
Speaker 4 (01:20:06):
And that's where I think come playoff time, lineup depth
can be more important than having a superstar and a
shoutout chuckle cheese in the chat, Tigers have to make
a move at the deadline, major move all the champs did.
Yes in the bullpen, I one hundred percent, one thousand
percent agree because when you look at the numbers I
brought to yes today versus yesterday today, when it comes
(01:20:29):
to their hitters, you've got more people who are succeeding
in playing well than you ever expected. When it comes
to their bullpen, you've got more people who haven't been
stepping up and who haven't been performing than you expected.
There were a lot of guys that really showed out
last year and are unfortunately looking like potentially flashes in
the pan. I'm looking at you Bowbrisky and uh Sean
(01:20:50):
Gunner for examples, maybe even brand Herder as well. But
just one more thing on the whole lineup. Depth being
as important, if not more important, than having superstars. Baseball's
different man. Baseball is the ultimate sport where somebody can
get hot and can carry a team full of other
(01:21:11):
superstars to a victory in a series, order a victory
in a World series.
Speaker 3 (01:21:16):
And that and that was what I was effectively trying
to state. And I believe though that the Tigers have
the best of both worlds.
Speaker 5 (01:21:22):
We have bats that we know can carry an offense.
Speaker 3 (01:21:26):
We've seen it be a platoon of Riley Green and Schools,
and that's all that they need for today.
Speaker 5 (01:21:31):
We've seen that.
Speaker 3 (01:21:31):
We've seen it be Riley Green and pitching chaos, and
that be all that the Tigers need for that day.
We've seen to be carry carpenter and pick a pitcher
and that's all that the Tigers.
Speaker 5 (01:21:41):
Of need for the day.
Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
But more so this year than any other time in
recent history, we've seen them be able to rely on
a lot of the other guys too.
Speaker 4 (01:21:49):
Yes, and so I got a couple of examples of
because I gave you examples of in the last Tigers playoff,
where you had guys who really may have had flash
in the pan playoff runs and you don't know what
their history, what their future is going to be. Shout
out Abanyez molloy and Jake Rodgers. It's a tail as
old as time though. In the MLB playoffs, So JB,
(01:22:10):
if you have the World Series slash Playoff performances graphic
in there, if you could have put that one up,
thank you so much. Here's just a couple of examples.
The Dodgers in twenty twenty four won the World Series
despite show Hey Hotani underperforming. The Dodgers did not win
the World Series because sho Hey went off. Show Hey
(01:22:31):
wasn't bad, but a seven sixty six seven OPS is
not what you'd expect from him. You'd expect from him
to be in the high nines or the thousands. Look
at jose L Tuove in twenty twenty two, that playoff
ops for what was a proven playoff player, MVP, multiple
time batting champion for eighty three and they still won.
(01:22:52):
And the biggest reason why was because at the time,
relatively unknown rookie Jeremy Pania was World Series MVP. Look
at twenty two twenty one. Rondal Akunyan Junior was out
for the twenty twenty one playoffs, the World Series MVP
was Jorge Solaire. That's literally like, and I know they're
very different sports. Imagine if the twenty sixteen Calves in
(01:23:13):
the finals, Kyrie Irving was out the whole series, Lebron
played that Lebron would be Freddy Freeman in this case,
and the finals MVP went to j R. Smith.
Speaker 2 (01:23:23):
Oh, I thought she was gonna say Mattanila dv Oh.
Speaker 4 (01:23:26):
Dela Madova's starring star star was in twenty fifteen. But like,
and I get it that baseball is different. But that's
my point is that it's random and weird. And look
at twenty eighteen, Mookie Betts had one of the best
regular seasons I've ever seen in my life. Twenty eighteen
MVP dominant, the most dominant Mookie Bets season, and boy
(01:23:47):
has he had many. But in the playoffs his OPS
was six twenty three. But the World Series MVP was
Steve Pierce and a lot of you, and I know
we've talked about him before, probably saying who, I.
Speaker 2 (01:23:57):
Don't blame you.
Speaker 4 (01:23:59):
It's different, man. Obviously, the thing that gives me most
confidence going into the playoffs is the fact that we've
got Riley Green. I've got a lot of confidence in
him that he will right some of the playoff wrongs
of last year in which his power basically went away,
and he's gonna perform. However, one of the reasons I
brought up all those guys that were performing this year
(01:24:22):
or were performing against lefties, even if they're guys you
don't think it's sustainable for like Jami Jones. Those type
of guys come through huge in playoffs and World Series
moments all the freaking time. If I ever really get
some time, and I'm a real psychopath, I can look
back to the nineteen seventy seven World Series and probably
see the same thing. These are just very recent examples.
(01:24:45):
I'm not even going back that far. It's a tale
as all as time. You need line up depth in
the Tigers, I really believe have it, especially if if
Parker Meadows and Matt Verling can get off the schneid
and can be clicking on all their own cylinders come
playoff time. This is a dangerous, dangerous, dangerous team. But
(01:25:05):
that being said, please add some bullpen help. I cannot
stress enough. As much as I think that offense help
is overblown, I think bullpen help might be underblown. Get
some bullpen help, please, all of your resources.
Speaker 6 (01:25:21):
And I think the majority of fans do lean toward
reliever over a bat. It would be nice if we
could get both. But you know, I ain't gonna ask
for too much. But no, I think everybody is on board.
We need another arm, at least one.
Speaker 3 (01:25:35):
But in your perfect world one on one bat, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:25:39):
What about you?
Speaker 5 (01:25:40):
It's your perfect world?
Speaker 4 (01:25:41):
Two bullpen arms. Perfect world, two bullpen arms.
Speaker 5 (01:25:44):
That's what I'm at do. Justin what up, brother, I'm
with him.
Speaker 19 (01:25:48):
Two bullpen arms. Gotta do it, gotta get it done.
Speaker 8 (01:25:50):
Gotta get enough depth where you can have a bad
flarity outing, a bad minds outing, and be able to
recover later in the game and give your offense a
chance to come back from a big deficit. So I
think if you we had those two bullpen arms in
the Mariners series, it would have been a lot different result.
I think there could have been times where games wouldn't
have slipped away from us like they did. And I
(01:26:13):
hope that they actually do go out there and be
as aggressive as they should be because all World Series
teams add and there's no doubt about that.
Speaker 2 (01:26:20):
That's a bar.
Speaker 3 (01:26:21):
Hey, you know for old time save barking confined Shout
out to KG Man, So out did that do?
Speaker 7 (01:26:28):
Justin?
Speaker 2 (01:26:28):
Hey?
Speaker 5 (01:26:28):
Who do we gotta say? What up though? To mister
JB Smooth?
Speaker 3 (01:26:33):
Oh Jars and I think it's a JB Smooth double
dip JB double.
Speaker 7 (01:26:37):
Dip over here.
Speaker 12 (01:26:39):

Speaker 7 (01:29:27):
H I'll just kidd.
Speaker 12 (01:29:30):
Obviously one just came in right now. Shout out to
everyone's sitting in super chest as well too.
Speaker 7 (01:29:35):
This one is from Baldwin eight ten four ninety nine.
Speaker 12 (01:29:39):
He said, what the hell is of USN doing? I'm

Speaker 7 (01:29:46):
Shout out to you my man to shout out Baldwin.
Speaker 2 (01:29:49):
We don't know what they're doing, man, but they're doing something.
Speaker 4 (01:29:52):
Keep supporting. Like I said, you guys are gonna really
enjoy the next iteration of the of the A Morning Show.
Trust me. We can't reveal anything, yeah, but we know
we know what it's gonna be and you'll like it.
Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
Definitely. Definitely.
Speaker 3 (01:30:05):
I can't wait because it's at least keeping a continuity
with this booth, and I.
Speaker 5 (01:30:09):
Know they deserve all of the love.
Speaker 2 (01:30:12):
Man. You talked about a couple.
Speaker 5 (01:30:13):
Of MVPs over there in JB.
Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
Smooth and KG.
Speaker 5 (01:30:18):
It's so definitely I know JB Smooth just what I've done.
Speaker 2 (01:30:22):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:30:22):
You know one of the hardest working people here. You
set a standard, bro. So it's been awesome to be
able to work with you in this capacity when it
makes you at least said what updot to you?
Speaker 7 (01:30:32):
Oh man, I appreciate it.
Speaker 12 (01:30:33):
I love working with you guys, and I know speaking
with me and Flannel as well too. We've been here
for a lot of iterations of the Morning Show as
well too. We've seen a lot of people in those
chairs and we love every single one of them. And
it's a good punch, you know, seeing this happen and
obviously seeing that we won't be able to see your
guys' faces in the morning.
Speaker 7 (01:30:54):
So it's just it just sucks, you.
Speaker 3 (01:30:55):
Know, Yeah, it does. It changes like the whole dynamic man.
But so now it's gonna be more when I just
pop in a little bit earlier to say what up
to my guys, appreciate I appreciate it, but uh, I
know that, Uh, the chat family means a lot to us.
And what if though with Detroit Gunny, who is somebody
who really really really got even more active in the
chat in Wuku chat over like the last three months.
(01:31:17):
He's been hitting us up, LinkedIn socials and stand connected.
You when we talk about the chat family really being
a part of the scene, they have been. And I
know he sent in some some power stats.
Speaker 4 (01:31:27):
He did some power stats that have made me proud.
I'll just say that as a statman himself, because here's
here's the bottom line with all that or.
Speaker 9 (01:31:36):
Just beating off right now, you stats, you talk stats.
Speaker 4 (01:31:45):
I love my stats. But we all know that this
is a team and I think we can all kumbayad
that needs some bullpen help. That is relatively complete, but
has some warts that might keep them from going as
far as they could without them being addressed. Shout out,
Scott Harris. Uh, get on the phone. Got some time,
(01:32:07):
but I get get on the phone. But I think
it's also a time to appreciate just what this Tigers
team has done. And uh what up though with the trait?
Gunny has some up power stats that he sent me
yesterday and we weren't able to get them on the
show yesterday. We can get them on the show today
and we can go over them as a crew. Do
you have that one, mister JB Smooth?
Speaker 12 (01:32:26):
Ten stats regarding the Tigers fifty nine through thirty.
Speaker 4 (01:32:29):
Eight, Yes, yep, you know what, JB? Would you mind
reading them?
Speaker 18 (01:32:33):
Oh?
Speaker 12 (01:32:34):
Yeah, you want to start from ten or number one
on one? Number one the best record in MLB by
one game.
Speaker 7 (01:32:41):
Over the Dodgers. Number two two and a half game
leads over the Ashhos for best in the Al.
Speaker 12 (01:32:47):
Number three, eleven and a half games lead over the Twins,
twelve over the Royals and Guardians in the Central. Number four,
second highest run differential at plus eighty seven. Yankees lead
the league at plus one eleven and number five Tigers
number three in runs scored in MLB Tigers number six
in runs allowed. Number six the longest The longest losing
(01:33:11):
streak is four games currently, before that it was three
games three times. Number seven Tigers have been swept twice
opening series against the Dodgers.
Speaker 7 (01:33:20):
And the Mariners. Number eight.
Speaker 12 (01:33:22):
Tigers have six sweeps against Chicago, Baltimore, Colorado, Boston, San
Francisco and Cleveland.
Speaker 7 (01:33:29):
Number nine.
Speaker 12 (01:33:30):
The longest win streak is five games, and they have
done that four times.
Speaker 7 (01:33:34):
And finally number ten, nine.
Speaker 12 (01:33:36):
Series losses the Dodgers, the Brewers, the Astros, Rangers, Guardians, Reds, Rays, Nationals,
and Mariners.
Speaker 3 (01:33:44):
Wow, man, what if Troy Gunny is official bro?
Speaker 2 (01:33:48):
Success?
Speaker 4 (01:33:49):
These are no, these are some power stats.
Speaker 3 (01:33:52):
Where are your hands at?
Speaker 2 (01:33:55):
And these he don't need his hands big boom, No,
I'm miss that.
Speaker 4 (01:34:09):
No, these these uh, these really tell quite the story
of a great season. I mean, you look at even
the Blast at only nine series losses. I think they
have how many series wins would that make at least
at least twenty? That's incredible have only been swept twice.
I mean, that's what keeps you from really tail spinning.
If even if you're having a bad series, you at
(01:34:30):
least win one of those games. Obviously, we know what
the Tigers have done this year with their ability to
take two out of three on a very consistent basis,
sometimes even against teams where it's like, I'd really like
to sweep these guys, the best you can do is
two out of three. But that is a okay. And
this all adds up to a team that still, despite
(01:34:51):
some struggles to end the season, despite some struggles that
have put a spotlight on what the Tigers lack, still
the best record in baseball.
Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
Still unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (01:34:59):
Hey, shout out to what do Detroit gunny for sending
in those stats? He says, the desk is rising. Shout
out man. And it's amazing to see exactly what the
Tigers are doing. Because generally they say momentum does not
carry over from one season to the next, especially in baseball.
But we saw the Tigers in last season's regular season
at least as the best team in baseball, and we
(01:35:21):
see them get to this All Star break as again
record wise, the best team in baseball. Now, if they
can improve at all in the second half of the
season like they did last year, this team is going
to be dagoning, unbeatable in a large part of what
you pointed out today is the reason why think about
if this team does get some of these guys right,
(01:35:41):
what if Flairity does get consistent, What if Parker Medals and.
Speaker 5 (01:35:46):
Uh vee Ling and some of the others.
Speaker 3 (01:35:49):
What if they do start to actually get consistent. And
that's before we even talk about what they're able to
do to add another bullpen arm or add another back
to this team. So if they got a whole out
their disposal, if they can figure out what they got
on the roster of the guys that are struggling like
they did last year Parker Medals, Hey, they sent them
down to Toledo.
Speaker 5 (01:36:07):
We were down there with boots on the ground.
Speaker 3 (01:36:08):
I remember Brod was telling me things to watch for
and all this, and he was hitting the ball all
around the park and was like, man, maybe.
Speaker 5 (01:36:15):
It's just a competition.
Speaker 3 (01:36:16):
And Broter was like, sometimes it's what's going on up
top and they just need that break. And so I'm
hoping the All Star break in addition to any other things,
any other mojo things they can do or get the
mind right, get the swing right, that they can add
for those guys, I think this Tiger team is going
to be to the.
Speaker 4 (01:36:32):
Moment Parker Meadows is a second half players. I'm sticking
to it because by this time last year Parker Medals
hadn't made his run, his season numbers were morbid. By
the end of the year, his season numbers ended up
being good enough, and his numbers during that stretch were
absolutely incredible. And we actually got quite a few super
(01:36:53):
chats during that. Ryan's reaction four ninety nine. Y'all seen
me through many dialysis sessions.
Speaker 5 (01:36:58):
Thanks, Wow, be just showing up to events and such man.
Speaker 2 (01:37:03):
Big shot off.
Speaker 4 (01:37:04):
You would never know you're You're a very stoic individual.
Love love that random Small's Tiger Fleet, lead league and
hookers on the road to I certainly hope that they're
not paying.
Speaker 9 (01:37:15):
For it or state business man or I was just saying.
Speaker 4 (01:37:20):
If they are married, stay faithful Tigers, but if you're
Riley Green, have your fun. Wait?
Speaker 3 (01:37:29):
Wait, wait can he say that while he can he
say that while he's invoking the spirit of Riley Green?
Speaker 2 (01:37:35):
Right? I really can't.
Speaker 3 (01:37:37):
I have to Jersey one, It's like, does it does
it roll like that?
Speaker 2 (01:37:41):
Winning?
Speaker 19 (01:37:41):
Wrong?
Speaker 2 (01:37:41):
Winning to Rolley Green?
Speaker 4 (01:37:42):
Jersey nobody else can.
Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
I'm kidding stay paying for the hookers is working, so
keep it going.
Speaker 5 (01:37:52):
That new hip hop Actually.
Speaker 7 (01:37:55):
Don't know, so that's where I him going.
Speaker 4 (01:37:58):
Hey Cortes, Sam, when will we know your new job? Hey?
Soon soon? But like I said, for I am, I'm good.
I'm in a I'm in a good headspace. I'm just
very grateful for even getting the UH years that I
had up here. So this is a not a sad
occasion for me, Bigcoon fifty one. As something earlier, it's
(01:38:21):
kind of condescending, but I'll answer it. I will answer
it very very nicely. Sam, I need it before it's over.
Is it possible for you to do a whole show
talking sports without stats? No, it is not.
Speaker 5 (01:38:34):
One thing you might And I actually agree with Phil here.
Speaker 3 (01:38:37):
You need one last day with the flannel, even if
you wear the green jerzy on top or underneath.
Speaker 2 (01:38:41):
Okay, you have to wear a flannel. That's fair, that's fair.
Speaker 4 (01:38:44):
I can do that Friday. But here's the problem, Big con.
When I first started started doing some UH doing shows
in the audio booth with Neil and with like Irmani Edwards,
back when they were the bottom line. Remember those days, yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:38:59):
That was a ride of passage show.
Speaker 4 (01:39:01):
Yeah, oh for sure. There were multiple times where they
would come to me and I wasn't quite ready, And
I don't remember the exact claims that I made, but
I definitely said some things that were just flat out
wrong just because I thought they were true, but they
actually weren't. And from that moment forward, I've always been
a stat guy, and from that minute Ford, I'm like,
if I say something on air, I need some evidence
(01:39:23):
to back it up. That's why I love stats so much,
because they tell a story. They they if you want
to say, like, yeah, Riley Green's an All Star, what
is the first thing that you go to, You go
to the third in the league in home runs American League,
third in the league in RBIs top six and ops.
You know, YadA, YadA, YadA, saying with why is Jamiir
Gibbs so great? Fourteen hundred yards almost two thousand years,
(01:39:47):
you know, on and on and on. Why was Aiden
Hutchinson on pace to win Defensive Player of the Year
Because he was on a pace that would have netted
him twenty five and a half if he would have
played all seventeen. I don't think he would have gotten there,
but that was his pace. I just I love numbers,
and I think think they're They're what I use to
back up my claims because I make a lot of
claims that people don't like. And if I don't have numbers,
(01:40:07):
what can I back them up with?
Speaker 6 (01:40:08):
You want to, you know, back up those Ben Wallace claims.
You know since this, you know you.
Speaker 2 (01:40:13):
You ain't got much time on their waves.
Speaker 4 (01:40:15):
I'm just saying I've always said the same thing. I
don't think any player who is only defensive base should
be in the Hall of Fame in the NBA.
Speaker 6 (01:40:24):
True, but this is why stats don't always tell the story.
Speaker 2 (01:40:27):
But you're great at them, though you are great, I
will give it.
Speaker 3 (01:40:29):
If they affect all time great offenses. That's where I say,
you know what, that line, that needle, you have to
change it. Because we talked about offensive player can always
get overall effect of a game, and some of these
guys are in the Hall of Fame and couldn't play
a look at defense. I feel like that's a that's egregious,
but we allow it. But when you look at that,
(01:40:54):
it's all or nothing, you know what. But with Ben Wallace,
it was always all and That's why I do believe
he deserve to be in. But that's that's the thing though,
Like Darren McCarty said, Flannel stands on business. You know,
he believes on he believes in, whether it's the popular
opinion or not. Sometimes in the lines, sometimes it doesn't.
But I always know as it relates to consistency, I
(01:41:15):
can tell you guys, man, he's no Jack Flaherty.
Speaker 4 (01:41:20):
Tabitha. I do not have kids as of now, but
if and when I do, teach, teach him some things
about numbers.
Speaker 7 (01:41:29):
Little muskets runner.
Speaker 2 (01:41:30):
He does have a get the little muskets going. Man,
you got the time now.
Speaker 5 (01:41:39):
I don't even know what I would do.
Speaker 7 (01:41:41):
A little less man. He might crash out a.
Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
Little bit less little flannels will be a vibe like
so that would be dope, man. But it looks like
we got some time for everybody's favorite segment, of course,
So let's say, what's up to some friends? Hey, I'm
gonna say what the stick shout out to stick godfather?
Speaker 2 (01:41:58):
Nobody said right now? I said? No one said? And
did it just move saying?
Speaker 19 (01:42:05):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
One said? Jared? Or comes after it?
Speaker 3 (01:42:12):
Sound bro man, Hey for real man, bros for real man,
actual actual family here and.
Speaker 2 (01:42:17):
Sister shout out to in the building.
Speaker 7 (01:42:20):
Big shot up?
Speaker 5 (01:42:21):
Who is saying what up?
Speaker 4 (01:42:21):
Though?
Speaker 2 (01:42:22):
And then we get back to everybody's favorite segment.
Speaker 7 (01:42:24):
We gotta say what up to Black Rock and Planet Fitness. Hey,
so let me take it over here with black Rock.

to set you up there, but that's a great set
up for wstern.
Speaker 1 (01:49:54):
No, it's time for the most electrifying segment on the Internet,
each trend Wake up woodward.
Speaker 6 (01:50:05):
Ladies in general, the incomparable black JB.
Speaker 2 (01:50:14):
Smooth.
Speaker 12 (01:50:16):
I have no idea what they're talking about I bet
you though, I have no idea, but what's up, guys?
Updates for you guys right now. I don't know if
you guys seen this, but uh, this just got dropped.
Oh no, it's making this way to Vegas. Everybody didn't
(01:50:37):
will be somebody was just.
Speaker 2 (01:50:39):
Yeah Willie Willy.
Speaker 6 (01:50:41):
It was a random stat by Willy B yesterday to
the casino, like.
Speaker 7 (01:50:45):
They are bringing on to the casino.
Speaker 12 (01:50:47):
And however, unfortunately the casinos are not prepared yet for this,
so you will have to wait some time before there
are official Ono tables that are in the Vegas to see. However,
the Uno Social Club will be making their way around
to a bunch of states in cities right now to
kind of get the ball rolling, so so you want
(01:51:08):
to look out.
Speaker 3 (01:51:08):
It's so effective that you on a wager you could
do this in Vegas, but they're still gonna have these
and other places states.
Speaker 12 (01:51:14):
Yeah, they're basically kind of like try and get out
at other cities to see like how it works. You know,
if it'll be a big thing or not. You know,
I think it will definitely be a following for it.
I mean I'd be down to play Uno, nah, but
I can't play their way.
Speaker 6 (01:51:28):
They're gonna play by the normal rules, like you gotta
play the hood rules.
Speaker 3 (01:51:31):
Though, I can't wait till go and get down to
see who said out first, which card hit the table for.
Speaker 7 (01:51:37):
You're gonna have to play normal rules with Unfortunately there's that.
Speaker 6 (01:51:42):
But hey, you know what, when I was coming to casinos,
we've been wanting this shout out.
Speaker 3 (01:51:46):
It's gonna be crab tell you, but it's gonna be
some of the craziest like replays like did he say
UNO when.
Speaker 2 (01:51:51):
He had one card?
Speaker 3 (01:51:52):
We have to go back, go back to the official huddle.
You gotta go up to ruferees. Hey, New York, did
he say you know? He did not say you know?
Speaker 2 (01:51:59):
He is this all? There's gonna be none of that.
You getting thrown off the table.
Speaker 7 (01:52:04):
Cards. I guarantee you there are gonna be some fights.
Speaker 3 (01:52:06):
At these old table fights over bro.
Speaker 12 (01:52:09):
There needs to be extra security for these, uh, these
old games.
Speaker 7 (01:52:12):
But moving on a little bit age, I want to know,
U KG, would you be able to catch this pass?
Just just let me know see it?
Speaker 2 (01:52:22):
But I definitely would have looked where I was running.
Shout out to him.
Speaker 5 (01:52:25):
Not getting leveled though, But goodness.
Speaker 6 (01:52:27):
Mailbox hit sticky getting his stick by the mailbox is crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:52:39):
Mega try would have caught.
Speaker 22 (01:52:40):
That ball that Matthew Stafford throws over the middle. It's
just tight end screwed.
Speaker 7 (01:52:47):
Up goodness, just pretty good.
Speaker 19 (01:52:53):
Credit to the kid.
Speaker 12 (01:52:53):
Though, can cush That is a concussion waiting to happen
once again? Uh we got another gt G GTG shirt
that we're giving.
Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
Out right here, Yeah t GTS Yeah.
Speaker 12 (01:53:09):
I don't think she was ready though, uhh.
Speaker 3 (01:53:14):
Okay, oh oh no.
Speaker 6 (01:53:18):
At least it's just a medicine ball though, But damn,
oh it could have been worse.
Speaker 19 (01:53:23):
How heavy is that? It can't be that heavy.
Speaker 7 (01:53:26):
It's not no way she would have been.
Speaker 2 (01:53:28):
She would have been. Yes, she did launch it. It's
probably one of those you got you gotta get up
faster than that. Off that push up five pounds. It's
like you was taking forever with the push up. She
did a real push was coming back.
Speaker 4 (01:53:42):
That was a real one. But he did a real
one at like a speed.
Speaker 6 (01:53:48):
You kind of have to maintain rhythm with this, so yeah.
Speaker 19 (01:53:52):
Just do this, dumb ship. This really necessary to work out.
Speaker 6 (01:53:57):
No, Yeah, a couple's goals though, stick, come on, they
do this in lifetime fitness, not playing fitness.
Speaker 7 (01:54:05):
Shout out.
Speaker 4 (01:54:06):
I am one thousand percent sure it was her idea.
Speaker 2 (01:54:09):
Speaking of big fas big facts.
Speaker 22 (01:54:12):
Have you guys played JB's video of dancing in the
rain with his girl speaking a couple of goals?
Speaker 2 (01:54:17):
Wait?
Speaker 7 (01:54:22):
What is this video he's referring to? Uh?
Speaker 12 (01:54:25):
So the video he is referring to its uh my
girl's idea of us.
Speaker 7 (01:54:30):
She always wanted to do this, but she always wanted
to dance in the rain. And obviously when I was
on vacation down south, it rained in Tennessee.
Speaker 12 (01:54:38):
Uh And we got the opportunity to do it. And
I know it was her idea.
Speaker 7 (01:54:46):
That's a real husband right there.
Speaker 19 (01:54:49):
Your She posted it so damn proud like JB's locked in.
Speaker 2 (01:54:55):
We do got to see this video now.
Speaker 7 (01:54:57):
Yeah, I'll have to get a party for tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:55:00):
We're never seeing that video. My highlight.
Speaker 12 (01:55:06):
Never seen a light of day of that video. Finally,
I got one more for you, KG. This is definitely
for you. Batsman going wrong?
Speaker 2 (01:55:17):
Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait no, no,
stop moving disgusting.
Speaker 7 (01:55:28):
That's again, that's disgusting.
Speaker 2 (01:55:32):
Never never throwing back fist.
Speaker 4 (01:55:34):
He's got like no trice up.
Speaker 2 (01:55:36):
Oh, I've never seen somebody throw a back fist or
back elbowing her face so quick.
Speaker 9 (01:55:51):
You gotta talk to that out for career, big facts
out for career. That is a career Indian injury right there.
I can't God damn g T shirt JB. He definitely
needs one. He also needs a hospital asap, very quick.
Speaker 7 (01:56:09):
But uh, that's that's today. Shout out to gold Crown
for promptor.
Speaker 4 (01:56:17):
How does it even happen? But like a dislocated trice up?
Speaker 2 (01:56:21):
Yeah, that's tough. That's tough.
Speaker 4 (01:56:24):
Is he ever throwing anything again?
Speaker 3 (01:56:26):
That was just a straight Hey, the bottom of your
arm is no longer connected anyway to the top half.
Speaker 4 (01:56:31):
That's reputation.
Speaker 2 (01:56:32):
Yeah, he don't skip arm day. I don't know how
to happen. Yeah, you might have screamed like me there,
I don't. His missages don't even describe it. It was crazy.
So rolls don't do that to each other.
Speaker 5 (01:56:50):
But uh, do we got anybody say what up though?
Speaker 2 (01:56:52):
Too? Or do we get into some.
Speaker 7 (01:56:53):
Mail backed mailbag?
Speaker 2 (01:56:55):
All right, look, we'll.
Speaker 3 (01:56:56):
Take a question or two, so we have a little
bit of time to sneak a question or two in there,
but one question or a topic for me, Asar Thompson,
whater what people are feel in the bottle, because there's
a lot of people who don't believe that Asar Thompson's
gonna take that next leap because they think shooting.
Speaker 5 (01:57:13):
No Ron Holland in the Summer League.
Speaker 3 (01:57:16):
I hear people already saying, well, if Sar can't shoot
like this, and Ron should take a spot.
Speaker 2 (01:57:20):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (01:57:22):
I like the effectiveness of a guy like Osar Thompson,
both on both ends of the court. I think that
the shooting or the lack thereo of sometimes it clouds
exactly who he can be and what he can be.
But I do believe Sar Thompson this year he's gonna
shoot definitely better than last year.
Speaker 2 (01:57:36):
But ultimately it's just.
Speaker 5 (01:57:38):
What sarm me not from offense man.
Speaker 2 (01:57:39):
He gotta make steady improvements.
Speaker 6 (01:57:41):
But I think there is merit to the fact that
if he can't learn how to shoot, then I don't
know if he'll ever take that step in the start
of like we want him to. So it's kind of
like a catch twenty two. He has to be able
to hit at a decent clip. He does have to
be a sharp shooter. He just has to hit at
a decent clip.
Speaker 4 (01:57:55):
I don't think what if he's not a star? What
if he's just stayed really good player that every championship
team needs. That's cool and like like, I actually am
higher on him than all of the other young guys
quite quite frankly, But I'm not sure if he's ever
gonna shoot at a high level or not. He just
does everything else so well.
Speaker 3 (01:58:13):
I think they need to be able to develop that
that half court offense form. Even more so, it's more
than just a three point shot. And there used to
be players who could score from the three point line.
Speaker 5 (01:58:21):
What I havepen to shoot a three?
Speaker 3 (01:58:23):
Like the NBA used to have guys like that. Yeah,
not all of a sudden, not so much. But I
see Randall Small's in the chat. He says mail Bag,
would any of the Tigers' top five prospects get traded?
Speaker 4 (01:58:33):
I do not believe so. No, And you won't have
to do that to get a very quality bullpen arm
or two facts.
Speaker 2 (01:58:41):
Let me see.
Speaker 3 (01:58:43):
What if do with Detroy Gunny if he ever hosts
a show, Would any of the wou c like to
be the WU crew like to be a guest definitely,
that's definitely with support man. Yes, Oh, let me see
Malik Peterson mail bag. Will well Sam still love at
his next job?
Speaker 4 (01:59:01):
Yes, I will let me see here the fans, though,
I'm not so sure.
Speaker 3 (01:59:08):
Hey, I see you Freddie Felt, he says in his
mail bag. I guess he's using it to make a statement.
Who has been a consistent mainstay in my daily routine?
Speaker 2 (01:59:18):
Kool aid?
Speaker 3 (01:59:18):
The most poised professional flannel is musty entertaining. JB and
KG are the glue that kept it together. Thank you,
Thank you, appreciate thank One of the regulars.
Speaker 2 (01:59:28):
One of the regulars.
Speaker 3 (01:59:29):
So I'm trying to see if there's anything else here.
Dante one five to one mail bag. Will we ever
see Alex Cobb in a Tiger's jersey this season?
Speaker 1 (01:59:38):
No?
Speaker 7 (01:59:41):
No, no waste of money? I want to waste.
Speaker 4 (01:59:46):
I can't No, I can't. I can't say that. I
can't say that.
Speaker 2 (01:59:49):
I just remember Pete. He is so bad when they
signed him, like his eye was falling out.
Speaker 4 (01:59:55):
Because he got a hit on the head at one point.
Pete was like obsessed with that, so bad. He's never
been the same, He's I mean, shut up, Pete. You
had a little foresight there. It's not for that reason. Pete,
Pete cook there.
Speaker 5 (02:00:11):
Let Pete cook? What was his what was his constant refrain?
Speaker 2 (02:00:15):
Huh?
Speaker 5 (02:00:15):
What's this constant?
Speaker 7 (02:00:16):
Franx cop got hitting the head during the game once?
Speaker 3 (02:00:20):
Remember the other one though, when they were here in
the watch party.
Speaker 2 (02:00:26):
Pete Man, let Pete Cook l PC.
Speaker 3 (02:00:28):

this thing down, Phil, He says, maybe you should be
Pete in the morning.
Speaker 2 (02:00:35):
Shout out to P. I wouldn't be.

thank you.
Speaker 2 (02:01:06):

all that when he was here? Shout out dog freddie Felt.

Speaker 2 (02:02:30):
Always bull opinions.
Speaker 4 (02:02:34):
Outside of that to be fair, to be fair, the
the barbs at each other's opinions very much go both ways.
That's okay.
Speaker 22 (02:02:43):
I mean several occasions, Flannels, I have the worst opinions
on the net.
Speaker 4 (02:02:49):

me is it's just friendly friendly bands.
Speaker 22 (02:02:55):

right side of something check with flannel. Whatever he says.
