Is wake up Boo Ward? You know what all we
do around here is just handle our business. Plannel Sam,
it's your boy, Brandon Dead aka Detroit kool A, your
credential pisson reporting writer.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
For the network.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
And you know what not just another dub that's another
series win man for those Detroit Tigers. SmackDown doll like.
I love what the squad is doing the chat family.
If you do, going ahead and smash that like button.
Let's run it up today. How are you feel in
this morning? Mister Rodney green Joys?

Speaker 3 (01:01):
You are? You know?

Speaker 5 (01:02):
I'm feeling good? Even though you might ask why sunglasses today?
Why not any other day? Today? I'm feeling kind of shy.
I don't want y'all to see my eyes from.

Speaker 6 (01:10):
That, well, knot you out hey, we will Yeah, he.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
Shout out White. Those are unsubstantiated allegations. But I don't
even know what to say to that.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
No, but.

Speaker 5 (01:33):
It just makes sense that a Tiger's victory show might
as well put the sunglasses on again. Like I said,
I'm a very shy, like introverted person at heart, and
I kind of just want like hid sometimes it's not good.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
I feel you shout out to those Tigers though we
talked about it. Sixty wins at all Star bright Man,
They're definitely gonna get there. Uh and I hopefully do
that my sweeping the Tampa Bay Tampa Bay Rays out
of here, man. And it's it's awesome to see what
they're doing because you're getting contributions not just from your stars.
But I know a name that you heard KG mentioned yesterday,

(02:03):
Colt Keith.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
You mentioned his name a couple of times. You ain't
even been back that long, Bro, I've heard KG diamonds, Bro.
But yeah, he is on a miniature heater right now.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Bro.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
He is playing some of the best ball of the
season for sure.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Definitely, man, definitely, as I'm looking for I go tell
you guys. Absolute sweet, But would you like to tell
the people what else is on the men?

Speaker 5 (02:25):
Absolutely, it's another Tiger game. We have to break down
where we talk about both the pitching and hitting. There's
a lot to I think be excited about when it
comes to this team's prospects for the rest of the
regular season. When it comes to the playoffs, I think
more and more people are continuing to show out and
step step up, cold Keith being at the forefront of that.
We will talk about that a little bit later. But

(02:47):
also we've got the legend Rod Beard on and I'll
tell you what. I mentioned this to him before the show.
He's gonna be excited to have KG back.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
I wait to see him.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
It's going to be a nice little reunion between you
two and looking forward to even if I'm just park
like sitting back and watching it, I'm excited. Yeah, Rodbeard, Tigers,
And we got what's trending to end the show, JB
is back.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Hey, jasuse what it's a family affair today, man, And
I can't wait. But you know what something that used
to really make me a little bit nervous this season.
It's one mister Jack Flaherty h But you look at
this game and what we want to see from mister
consistency and only giving up two runs, six and a
third innings pitched. That's a good start towards, you know,

(03:31):
restoring some of that confidence. But I think more people
are gonna feel a lot more at ease when we
see Jack Flerty doing this a whole lot more consistently.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
But what the heck of a start?

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Yeah, Jack Flerty, he was good Jack. He wasn't necessarily
like dominant, but he pitched more than well enough for
the Tigers to get a victory. And I think, and
I'm gonna stay consistent on this as of right now,
and this is subject to change if Jack Flerty ends
the season on a tord pace. If Jack Flaherty is
the number four starter going into the playoffs, I think

(04:02):
that is the perfect spot for him. I think I'm
extremely comfortable with that. I actually think if he's the
fourth starter and Kaider Montero is the fifth, that you
probably don't even start, but for more than one game,
I think you've got obviously the top end with Schooble,
but as good of starting pitching depth as previous World
Series champions if not better I gave. I gave you

(04:22):
the myriad of garbage that pitched in the playoffs the
last few years for the World Series winning teams, not
necessarily garbage pitchers like, for example, Max schuers Er had
a bad playoff run in twenty twenty three, Jack Flerty
last year, and uh and Justin Verlander into twenty twenty two.
But my point is is that I love to see
what I've seen from Jack Flerty. But it's not just
Jack Flerity. Every single one of your starters has given

(04:46):
you a great outing in the last five games. It
all started with Reesulsen on a Friday. And I'm not
saying Reeesoulson was great or anything, but he was very,
very good for his first start off the il that
you had Casey Maiz the next day, Tarrek Scouoble the
next day, Kaider Montero the next day, and then Jack
Flaherty last night. This pitching staff is on a heater.
Did you know that the Tigers have only allowed six

(05:07):
runs total in the last five games. That's domination. I'll
mention the bullpen a little bit more in a couple
of minutes, but love to see great starting pitching basically
one turn through the entire rotation en route to a
now five game winning streak.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Yeah, and you know what, you talk about it because
we have all of our concerns. But I'm sorry to
wonder how you want Jack flaerity to be consistent. But
this Tigers team just continues to find ways to get
it done. And last night gives up seven hits but
gets the eight k's. I'm glad to see that he
still has his stuff working, still is able to locate.
I don't think that the Tampa Bay's rays that their

(05:44):
lineup is necessarily one. It's just Swiss cheese to mo through.
Before a guy like Jack Flaherty, I thought that this
was encouraging. Now for the bullpen, especially when you have
the bullpen that you do. This is where, yeah, it
definitely becomes a first wall problem if you have Jack Flair,
if you're like, oh man, Jack, you gotta be our
fourth st especially when pairing them with this type of
a bullpen, and you see how lights out this can be.

(06:05):
I keep looking for what are the weaknesses with the
Tigers team, and realistically, it's just stay healthy, Just stay healthy.
J Hinch seems to have all of the answers dialed
up for the Detroit Tigers, no matter what's happened this year,
even a little bit of injury issues, and to see
the way that there are no favorites. We have our favorites,

(06:27):
and I feel like, if this is previous regimes, there
may be some players who like semen like statues at
certain positions, especially with the lord that they have amongst
the fans, but this is a situation where it's legitimately
the best players playing the game and where they've needed
people to step up. Those guys have even gone the
extra mile too, which is just incredible. There's not I

(06:48):
don't know what many more superloitives you can really attach
to this Detroit Tigers team.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
And that's what makes me, even before.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
The All Star break, before the trade deadline, I'm just
sitting here now looking at my clock, man, like, when
when does the playoffs start?

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (07:01):
I'm ready, because you're right when you're talking about the
starting lind up going out there and being able to
say each one of the starters have had a good
outing in our last five and you could probably go
back and expand that and say, Yo, a lot of
these starters just have good starts every night. That and
that to me is it's a testament to just how
elite the Tigers team actually is.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
Yes, and speaking of teams that the Tigers are probably
gonna see in the playoffs, Dante one to five to
one with a nine ninety nine super shot. I can
read this even I'm a little blind. Right now, Can
we all agree that baseball is a weird sport? Because
how the hell did the Tigers sweep those bubb Guardians
and yet the Astors are about to get swept as
well by the Guardians. What baseball is a weird sport?

(07:42):
It's random. That's why you have to judge things on
large sample sizes. Because, yeah, the Guardians, their offense looked
like it was just basically and it still is. Over
the totality of the season, Jose Ramirez, Stephen Kuan and
nothing but against Houston they've woken up. But they're about
to take us series. And this is one of those
few times where I'm actually happy that the Guardians are

(08:05):
winning because it widens the gap for the Tigers to
get the number one seed. The only thing that I
wouldn't like is if those bastard Guardians find their way
into the wild card.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
That would be like them, though, get them out of playoffs,
get them out. Shout out to our old sponsored guardian alarm,
like literally Cleveland Guardians out, stay out, man. I don't
need them anywhere near this dream season for the Detroit Tigers.
Were already gonna have to deal with the Houston Astros.
I don't listen, Do I respect the Yankees?

Speaker 3 (08:38):
No?

Speaker 5 (08:38):
No, honestly that the team that the Tigers should probably
worry about more now is the Blue Jays. The Yankees
might not even make the playoffs. The blue Jays aren't
a ten game winning streak, and they're now ahead in
that division.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Yeah, and that's where you look at this team and
I don't want any any bad mojo guardians. Get them
all the way out of here. But this is where
you contrast this thing the Tigers have. They had speed bumps, yes,
but when you look at how many series they've won
this year versus how many've lost.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
You look at how many.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Games they've gone in, how many different series have gone
up against teams that have winning records, and then all
of a sudden, they start to send their records closer
to you know, closer to five hundred than not.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
There was a series. I forget who it was earlier
in the year that we were playing.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
It might have been the Brewers or so, it might
have been someone else, and we were like, yo, this
team has a decent record, but by the time they're
out of here, they're gonna be under five hundred. And
that would have meant that the Tigers had this sweep.
And I remember we came here for the victory, so you.

Speaker 5 (09:33):
Like, hul a, oh, I forget they're under It wasn't
the Brewers. I don't remember here it was, but I
remember that.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
But that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
Just the contrast is, yes, we've seen a couple of
stinkers here and there, but when you look at what's
bolster the Detroit Tigers above some of these other teams
in the AL, it's because they're they're consistent team. They'll
have a loss here or there, and when they drop
a series, it's to the point where we and I
even think people out there in national media are surprised,
whoa wait, wait, wait, the Tigers loss. They're just going

(10:01):
out there and I don't even understand the recipe anymore.
But it is absolute BTA. When you and I do
wonder when you know as a series, as a team
that you have to literally face Schooble and Mis in
a series, I wonder what that does to the confidence
of these other teams.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
You gotta prepare for these guys.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
And not that a baseball player is gonna come in
and say, oh man, we lost, but you know that
you're in for a battle when you have to face
off with these two players, and then.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
You gotta face off against this elite bullpen.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
As you continue to highlight all season, we thought they'd
be a strength, but who knew that they would be
able to Unlike last season, where when certain of the
bullpen arms got either injured or went into their slumps,
we saw the performance of the bullpen overall dip. We
saw the performance of the team overall dip, whereas this
year we haven't seen that. We talk about how much

(10:50):
they've been able to overcome if a bat hasn't been
there or not, or if they're still waiting for guys
to get back, like medals and such, but when you
look at this bullpen, they've just been able to continue
to turn out and be a very very strong point
for the Tiger Sate.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
I want to be fair because obviously some guys in
the bullpen have struggled, not all, but but yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Overall performance has continued to stay.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Whereas last year when that bullpen struggled, That's what we
saw the team start to greater approaching that trade deadline.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
No, but we're but we're we're looking at a potential.
And this is another thing that we've seen in the
last five games. Tyler Holton looks to be back. Yes,
I am not going to declare that he's one hundred
percent back yet, but in these last five games, four
and two thirds zero earned runs. Tommy Cainley, we know
what he's done, two and a third no earn runs.
These are in the last five games, Will Vest three

(11:38):
and a third no earn runs. Both Tommy Cainley and
Will Vest have taken turns of getting saves for this team.
Those guys, I think I'm confident enough saying that Tyler
Holton is. I don't know if he's back, but I
love how he's trending. I'm still confident in him. I'm
confident in Kanley, I'm confident in invest. If you want
the Tigers bullpen to be, you know, as formidable as

(12:02):
it can be Yeah, you also have to look at though,
a couple of guys like Brent Herder, Brendan Hannefee, Chase Lee.
They've all stepped up during this five game stretch. They
both get they've all given you. I'll just give you
the numbers. Hurd Heer and inning, no earn runs, Hannafee
and inning, no earn runs, Chase Lee and inning and
two thirds no earn runs. I'd like to see Herder
and Hannefee get back to what they were last season,

(12:23):
or at least a close facts similarly, And then when
it comes to Chase Lee, maybe he's one of those
guys out of nowhere that goes on a run and
plays a big role on this team. Shout out Scott
Harris for getting him. I forgot which trade he was
acquired in, but he was acquired as an under the
radar prospect and he's giving you big time innings out

(12:44):
out of the bullpens. So if you've got Holton, Kinlee,
Vest Herder, Hannefee and Chase Lee all pitching, well that's
pretty damn dominant. I'm not saying that they couldn't use
another guy, but I think a lot of these bullpen
guys heard me last week when I said that it
was their biggest need. Not so fast, my friend, and.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
That's why so fat hey, you know it. Shout out
to the chat f me. I see you in the
chat Kiyazi with a couple chats. He says, it's because
you guys aren't giving our pitchings to have enough credit.
The Tigers have a way of making teams look anemic
on facing them. Not tow and Nanny also says, stop
worrying about the Guardians. Why are you so afraid of
a team. We should not be afraid of any team.
I don't care who we face.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Stout.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
Look, I'm one of those sports fans who does believe
in the mojo. I really do. And some things are
just things I choose not to deal with. I don't
want to have that in my recipe.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
Sometimes weedies a little bit of sugar, I'm good to go.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
I don't need nothing else in there.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Man.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
So it's like with this, I don't want the Guardians
anywhere in this mix. We've seen some funky things happen.
Let's rot now if we play them? Am I gonna
pick the Tigers to beat? Them every single time. But
if we can keep them as.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Far away as possible, I definitely would. And Steve O
Baby kool aid.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
When the Tigers get blown out a team by a team,
they get angry and they stay hungry. That's what we've
seen from this Tigers team. Realistically, they'll drop a game,
they may drop two games, but relatively I feel like
that's like the start of this team going and going
on another run. Every single time I feel like I've
seen the squad drop a series, it's hoped to spur
this team onto beating. Like we'll see them drop a

(14:14):
series against a squad they shouldn't and then don't have
a couple of games ahead. They were like, man, these
are some tough games. These aren't necessarily handling your business games.
But then they come away having won like seven out
of ten.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
That's what these Tigers have been.

Speaker 5 (14:26):
Yeah, And I man, Steve o'baby, he had a really
good comment. Yea earl going this morning, He's I found it.
I a shout up. Shout out to stevo Baby for
getting a little sentimental. I wish my grandpa was alive
right now. He was a huge Tigers fan and lived
to be one hundred. This Tiger's team is going all
the way. Hey, Hey, shout out Steve. Shout out to
uh Steve o'baby's grandpa, And I hope you enjoyed forty five,

(14:48):
sixty eight and eighty four, because I'm sure if you
were alive to be one hundred, you were, you were
more than alive. And well for those for those Tigers, Hey,
Tigers Stadium being built damn near.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
In a couple way from the check, QT says, Tigers
are on pace for one hundred and two point seven wins.
I think that's a lot flowed more than the ninety
one wins that I think we predicted. And then we
even went a little higher than that when we went
and did a little Hey, do we have to reassess
justin from North Carolina, he says, But are we benefiting
from a weak ALE Central. I'm looking at the Ale

(15:22):
East and every team except the last place team is
above five hundred.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
Look, look, no, I'm just saying win.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
National media looked at those Detroit Tigers earlier in the season,
after about the twenty or thirty game mark, they realized, though, yes,
they're doing.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
What they have to do against their own division.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
They are absolutely taking belt to tail against these other
teams who they want to put the Tigers above.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Even ESPN.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
There were so many weeks where we're talking about a
Tigers are number one team wreckerdwise, and they still had
them beneath the Dodgers and certain other teams. Then after
a while, the Tigers did something no other team had done,
and that was being the number one ranked team for
three weeks in a row. What do all these things
have to do? What does CBSA, what MB dot com say,
what the ESPNSA. It's because of what the Tigers are

(16:08):
doing to the top teams in the league that makes
them respect who the Detroit Tigers are this year. That's
why I do believe we see them get the four
All Stars, you know, in the in the in the
All Star Game. That's why I do believe you see
all of these other kind of power ranking sites continue
to keep them one or two to move them beyond
the Dodgers, a place that some of our fans don't

(16:28):
even feel comfortable with doing.

Speaker 7 (16:30):
So.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
It's like, you know, I respect the sentiment, but I
think it's because of what the Tigers are doing both
in the division. They're absolutely taking care of it. But
then also what they're doing out the division.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
No, and there is nothing wrong whatsoever with benefiting from
a division that isn't great. You look at teams like,
for example, the Cubs and the Dodgers, who I believe
the Dodgers have the best record in the Cubs have
either the third or fourth. The Cubs are looking behind like, gosh,
darn it, those effing Brewers. The Dodgers are like, gosh,
start at those Giants and those Padres, the Tigers. They

(17:02):
don't have to worry about that right now. Let's just
enjoy what hopefully is a relaxing end of the season
where the division is not in question. And right now,
I mean, as I'm looking, I can't fourteen game lead
over the Royals and the Twins. Just enjoy it, man Like,
I'm like, like, who cares if the division is weak,

(17:23):
It's fine, no big deal.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
I mean, listen, if this was a recipe where they
were fattening themselves up on al Central, it is something
that we will be probably less stoked about in terms
of what we think. I'm calling this team elite, though
not because of what they're doing necessarily to the Central,
but because of what they're doing across the plug throw
of baseball. It doesn't matter if you want the AL,
you want the NL, how do you want it? You

(17:48):
want you know what I mean? You want the Central
either Division? How do you want it? The Tigers are just, hey,
we're here to beat your tail and we'll do it
politely if that's how you guys want it. And that's
what they're doing every single game, every single series. Man,
that's why we're looking at this squad being the first
to fifty. That's why we're looking at the squad gonna
be one that's gonna it's sixty wins before the All

(18:09):
Star break. And we're looking at the squad now whose
general manager is saying, Hey, we feel like we have
a World Series team and that is going to encourage
us to be that much more aggressive at the trade deadline.
And you look at the squad and it's like, you're
not even talking about filling holes. Last year, when we
talked about the trade deadline KG, it was about, hey,
what do we need to make sure this team can
even make a run towards the playoffs because they were

(18:31):
going in the opposite direction after a good start to
the season this year, you're talking about, like we do
with the Lions, what extra do you need to make
them that much more elite? Because you know that when
you talk about World Series, when you're talking Super Bowls,
when you're talking championships, there's usually just that much more
to go. But this team doesn't have too many weaknesses.

Speaker 8 (18:49):
No, and like you said, they don't have too many weaknesses.
There are some things that you can point to overall,
but they haven't hindered this team at all. I remember
all off season we were dreading how bad the d
would be in the infield and things of that nature.
We haven't had that problem. We were dreading about what
will this offense be. And you know, shout out to
whoever made the comment that the pitching staff is getting

(19:10):
enough credit. I don't think this offense is getting enough
credit because, at a bare minimum, I'm confident that the
Tigers can go out there and at least play a
resilient brand of baseball. And that that's so helpful to
a pitching staff, a rotation, a bullpen when you know that, Okay,
I can go out there and know that my offense
is going to get me a comfortable lead, or if

(19:31):
I go out there and give up a couple runs.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
Not to fret.

Speaker 8 (19:34):
My offense is going to be able to bail me
out of it and not have another chance to go
out there and do what I do best.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
And same for Jack Flerity. Yesterday started off kind of slow,
you know, gave up a home run early. You were
thinking that always going to be one of them type
of games for Jack Flaherty.

Speaker 8 (19:47):
But he settled in and his offense had his back,
and I think that is the biggest part about what
this Tiger season has been. Yes, the pitching staff is great,
we all know it's great, and they've had their ups
and downs, but overall they're gonna be there. This offense
just continues to go out there and be battle tested,
be resilient, and they go out there and and show

(20:08):
you like they are capable of being one of the
best teams in this league.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Man.

Speaker 8 (20:12):
And they don't need to add a whole lot to
this thing to make them hit that next.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Step all and I see weezd three and three and
chat he says, I'm tired of y'all being scared of
the Dodgers.

Speaker 5 (20:27):
And here's what I have to say. Nobody's scared the
reality is is that. And this is where I fight
with fans of every single team in this city. All
of these teams that we love and are on the

(20:48):
up and up, except maybe the Red Wings are still
zero time champions in this era. I'm not going to
elevate the Lions over the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
Or the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
I'm not going to elevate the Tigers over the I know,
I know, I.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Know, let's look at our trophy case.

Speaker 5 (21:04):
At the last like, however many seventeen years empty. And
that's not about like they're.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
At there because we work.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
There's that's all.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (21:15):
That's all, Like I guess everybody just only I don't
know that that type of mentality gets me upset. You've
got to be mindful about the other good teams. And
for the record, if you want to say that you're
never you're not gonna see the Dodgers unless you actually
get to the World Series, that's fine, and I accept that.
I think the team in the American League I'm most
mindful of, honestly is the Houston Astros. They're proving once

(21:38):
again to be probably the best organization in baseball with
the way you know what Jordan Alvarez hurt for damn
near the whole year. Who cares? Kyle Tucker traded to
the Cubs. Who gives a damn? And they, let's say,
Jeremy Paneya be one of the best players in baseball.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
And they play each other so evenly. It seems they
just do.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Even though there seems to be something to a j
Hinch has an advantage wise over them. I wonder to
play too, though they seem to play each other very
very evily.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Man, But burn with the five dollars super chat.

Speaker 4 (22:09):
The Dodgers, Giants, and Padres get to play twenty games
against the Rockets. Also, the rest of the ALE plays
our division as well.

Speaker 5 (22:17):
Yeah, I mean, I mean, I'm not gonna worry about
divisions being weak or divisions being strong. The Tigers just
conside to take care of business.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Yeah you play who you play?

Speaker 1 (22:29):
Man?

Speaker 9 (22:30):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (22:30):
Yeah, I mean, but it is crazy Like last year,
we all thought that that the Al Central was this
week and it turned out it was this year.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
But yeah, no, and just to uh, just to correct
a mistake from earlier, I'm an idiot. The Dodgers do
not have the best record in baseball. It's the Tigers. Hey,
the Dodgers are on a losing streak, so shout out
to the Tigers. I got one fact wrong. That's my
one for the day, and I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Sam Renault's got something wrong. I know said I won't

booth with what were sports MVP jbsmove back in the flesh,
got Detroit sepone draft pick Black Hollywood. That's KG in
the sound booth. Will he be that dude justin the building?
He guys already no final Sam and kool aid up here.
But we got to talk about somebody else too who

(27:11):
deserves some attention. That dude justin Tell me about one
Colt Keith.

Speaker 10 (27:17):
Tell you about our guy Colton. He has been on
an absolute tear in the last thirty days. He has
a three thirty eight average with one point zero one
five OPS. He's hitting four home runs and twelve RBIs
in that span with seven extra base hits on top
of the home runs. And then in the last seven
days specifically, he is on an even you can't get

(27:40):
this guy out. He's hitting four to seventy eight with
a one point four or five to two OPS with
two home runs, six RBIs and four doubles.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
I mean, this guy is.

Speaker 5 (27:51):
He's knowing why he's back one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
He's part of that. He's back tour.

Speaker 10 (27:56):
He's a I think it's fair to say at this
point in his career he's just a low starter. There's
something about April and May that just doesn't hit Colt right,
and the position change probably didn't help him. But he
has now find found his stroke, he's found that nice
swing and now he's he's seeing beach balls out there.

(28:16):
When I went to the game two days ago, when
he hit the home run and the two doubles, you
couldn't throw him anything inside the zone. He was gonna
hit it, he was gonna hit it hard, and all
his swings had ridiculously high exit vello, all exitve lo
over one hundred and that's what you want to see
out of Cold Keith. He is one of the most
pure swingers on this team. And I'm willing to say that.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
I'm mad at Yeah when I'm looking at Cold Keith
this year.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
What I love is this we have the Riley Green games, right,
But we also talked about what is this team going
to be when you have a guy like Ridley Green
who might not have his best night, and what do you.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
See a guy like cold Keith be able to step up?

Speaker 4 (28:55):
And this is what prompted UKG a couple of days
ago to even bring up col Kee's name, because we're
talking about the fact that we got these all stars
that we can talk about and we see these.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
Guys even improving on where they've been prior.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
Terry School was taking a step up, We're looking at
Rody Green taking another step and obviously Hovey Bias took.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Up like a huge leap dog.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
I don't know how these steps that he took, but
it was equivalent to a whole probably football fields were
for steps man. Yeah, and how this team has done
this is this in the past when they didn't have
necessarily that support behind him is where I believe it
hurt this squad over all.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Now you see the support.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
Roddy Green can have a night where he goes zero
for four three k's, you can have a night where
it's not a lot from the back end of that lineup.
But because of what somebody like coke Keith has done.
And we've heard other names throughout the season. Could have
been a Spencer Talkerson, could have been a dealing dingler,
but coke Keith, more than some of the others, has
been like that dude justin laid out.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
He's getting on a heater and probably one of the
more consistent people can rely on to step up all
nights like that.

Speaker 5 (29:54):
I mean col Keith, what we've seen from him in
his first couple of years is I don't know if
there's anyone in this Tigers lineup, and I'm even in
I'll say besides Riley Green that can get as hot
for a either a short period of time or even
for about a month as a Colt Keith. And what
he's done in this past like he's been good this month,

(30:15):
and the month before the very short month he's been insane,
and then last month he was good as well. He's
actually raised it to where his ops now starts with
an eight. Man, oh man, we're starting to keep accumulating
guys on this in this lineup, who's a ops starts
with an eight? So yeah, Colt Keith what he's done
this year, which I find kind of interesting, and I
think it goes more to like the depth of the

(30:37):
lineup and Spencer Torkelsen being better than we thought and
before the year in Glaber Torres being here, is that
aj Hinch pretty much only plays him against righties. And
I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, and numbers
actually bear that out. Thirty seven abs this year against lefties,
two hundred and five against righties. He's become like a

(30:57):
platoon star. That's not necessarily a bad thing because to me,
the greatest prerequisite of being a really good to great
left handed hitter is to just wear the f out
of right handed pitching, and that's what cold Keith. Over
the totality of the season, he has an eight sixty
nine OPS against righties, and I would suspect over since
the month of May started, it's been a lot higher

(31:19):
than that, probably in the high nine hundreds, maybe even
close to one thousand. So a shout out Colt Keith.
He's one that throughout the year hadn't really maybe lived up,
but now he's living up. Now he's living up.

Speaker 8 (31:32):
I think it's even more important when you're getting these
type of performances from people like Cold Keith and people
like Spencer Torklsen, because these are your younger guys, Like,
who did they the Tigers, this regime of Tigers go
out there and put their money behind first? It was
Cold Keith, and he is somebody that we are going
to be looking at, probably your leadoff hitter for the future.

(31:52):
So you need him to be able to improve in
these spots. And I think this is the perfect time
to get hot, you know, in the middle of summer
right now. These months can drag on, especially in terms
of a baseball season, but he's getting hot at the
right time. Hopefully he can maintain that because we're gonna
need him. It's gonna be all hands on deck come
playoff time, and you need a young hitter like a

(32:15):
Colt Keith that can go out there in that lead
off spot and be able to get on base and
make some things happen on the base pass.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
You know what, man, I really like that perspective too,
because one of the things we have we were tracking
a lot more earlier in the season was the differential
run score runs allowed. Not that you know it plays
his over arching or has his overarching effect over the game,
but it does tell a story. And one of the
things you see is early on runs they were much
better as related to runs allowed than runs score. Now

(32:43):
that things flipped, and I do believe that it has
a lot to do with these bats putting up even
more hits, more runs obviously than earlier in the season
at a time where we saw some of the pitchers,
some of the bats probably give up a little some
of the arms give up a little bit more in
the run department, But the type right now, I looked
at this thing about a month and a half ago,
they were behind a couple teams as related to differential.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
Right now they are up over the Yankees by over
ten runs. Crazy. That's crazy.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
And I do believe that it has a lot to
do with guys like Coke, Keith and some of these
non stars, some of these guys who just missed out
like your mckinnistry's and such. I think it has a
lot to do with who.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
These players are.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
I would love to be a fly on the wall
of their development staff because and I don't know if
I wish if brother has any inside d add to this.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
How do you have this much success?

Speaker 4 (33:31):
How do you go from us believing and knowing we
need two more bats to them just saying, you know what,
we got it in house already from Spencer Torkus and
Navii Bayas, Like where do you go to get this
type of improvement in house? Like don't I just keep thinking, like,
I don't know if I've ever seen this out of
any Tiger team I've watched, and I know that they
used to do business differently or they were gonna get

(33:53):
signed their bats. But to see this type of growth,
like even our favorite utility players are deciding we actually
want to be better than.

Speaker 15 (33:59):
That kem.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
There is speaks to developments.

Speaker 8 (34:04):
I think it speaks more so to the development of
the Scott Harris regime though they have built their calling
card on development and you know, getting the most out
of young players, So I think that goes along.

Speaker 5 (34:15):
With yeah, there there is no Don Kelly on the sea.
There there's a lot of really good players though, And
speaking of which, speaking of development and speaking of young guys.
I'm ready to do something that I wasn't quite willing
to do at the beginning of the week. Spencer Torkelsen
should be an All Star. Yes, Spencer Torklsen was robbed,

(34:36):
and I understand that when you at the time that
it was uh that everything was set, I couldn't quite
make the argument yet, or at least one that I'm
comfortable with. But I put a lot of stock into
and I'm not necessarily saying this was a Torqu's mindset,
but like, all right, I'll show you guys, because I
have now figured out whose spot that Spencer Tokosen should get.

(35:01):
It might not be, it's not gonna happen. I'm not
trying to uh campaign or anything like that. I'm just
going to use my pulpit to say what I believe in.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
Ryan, if you have the no gone ahead, Bro, I
was hoping, you know, because I'm just saying, man like,
I wanted tork to be able to especially with the
start to the season he's had the demons. We know
that he's buried, Bro, straight up burry Like, we wanted
to see this guy be able to be honored in
a great way. And I'm glad that his mindset is

(35:30):
on what he could do for the Tigers more so
than what the all star parents.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
Get me.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
But I really thought he had a chance to be
able to do this thing. And I wonder if batting
average just tripped him up. I thought the power numbers,
if he could have had like a little burst, could
have did something for him.

Speaker 5 (35:42):
Come on, weezy la oh, I knew it. Green bro
still hate Tork. I'm the biggest green Bro. I'm about
to campaign for talking to the all start seeing. Come on, buddy,
come on, I see this groudswell of torque hate in
the chat right right, No, no, stop imagining things, wheezy,
we love you, bro, Stop imagining things. Put it up right,

(36:03):
if you would please. Because there is somebody that's who's
who's spot that Spencer Torkelsen should take, and that is
one mister jazz Chizh I know, right, the only reason
that Chisholm shouldn't be on right, No, I'm kidding, but uh,
all right, So when you look at the numbers, there's
actually some things that favor Chisholm to me. But Spencer

(36:24):
has more home runs, more RBIs, the slash line is
a little bit worse than Chisholm's across the board, but
I think it's relatively the same. His ops is a
little bit worse, his war is a little bit worse.
But my thing though, that what really I think should
disqualify Chisholm being above Spencer Turklsen. He's missed thirty one games.

(36:47):
If you want to say his two point four wins
above replacement in sixty games is damn impressive, I will
give you that. But Chisholm's played a third of the
two thirds of the season. He's missed like a third
of the season. And I just think with Spencer Torklssen,
the way that he's being put out there every single day,
through his good times, through his slumps, and has continued

(37:08):
to I would say, I would say rake, I think
is is is an appropriate term. Like I said, I've
been impressed with his walk rate. I love his his
on base percentage being one hundred and two points higher
than his average. I love his slugging percentage starting with
a five obviously, I love his ops starting with an
eight eight forty two. I think Torkelsen should get the

(37:29):
spot over Jazz Chisholm. And there is one very specific
reason as well, because you may think, and I kind
of presented this the other day, American League only wanted
to take two first basemen, Vlad Junior and Jonathan Aranda. However,
the National League they took three first basemen. I think

(37:49):
Freddie Freeman, Pete Alonzo, and who am I forgetting Mettelsen.
I think that the American League should do the same.
I don't. I'm not saying that they're gonna change anything,
but I think Spencer Toclsen deserves the spot over Jazz Chisholm,
mostly because Chisholms just hasn't done He hasn't played enough games.
He's had a very good year. I'm not and you

(38:10):
know how much I don't like him. I'm not gonna
say that the year that he's having is bad or anything,
but you missed thirty one games. You can't be an
All Star unless you're like a Kunya coming back and
just being maybe the best player on the planet during
the games that he's played.

Speaker 3 (38:23):
Hey, and you know what, man, I'm looking at the
chat here we three one three.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
He put a lot of laughing and Bojis to put
thirty one games missed is nuts.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
It is that is.

Speaker 4 (38:35):
To make if this is the NBA, you're not getting in. Yeah,
he's not even win the postseason awards. Bro goodness, gracious,
I'm seeing a couple here. You got some support here.
Actually the Broterer flannel is right?

Speaker 3 (38:47):
Hey uh? And I saw a couple other.

Speaker 5 (38:49):
Pretty fell three one three more like Jazz Chisholm.

Speaker 4 (38:56):
Phil Phil says, yes, Sam is hitting too. Tork doesn't
play third or second and Jazz does. He believes it's
the wrong comparison.

Speaker 5 (39:06):
I believe what may a Grammet grammat I told you
that the way that the National League did it, they
took to reserve first baseman. I think that the American
League should do that as well. It's not like I'm
trying to get them to change a format to where
it's unprecedented. Let's just put Tork in and just have
a logjam of first baseman. I just want them to
do what the National League did. And I'm not saying

(39:29):
that Torq is as good as Matt Olsen or Pete
Alonzo or I mean, Freddy Freeman's actually kind of having
a down yere if you look at his power numbers.
But still, I just think that in the American League
it should be Vlad Junior. Actually it should be a
Rando starting and then Vlad Junior and Torque off the bench.
That's just my opinion, and I think that I've got
some evidence to bear that out. He's an a forty
two ohps man that's top ten in the American League.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
Eric Allen says Chisholm only got at it because Boone
is the manager.

Speaker 3 (39:55):
Torque is phenomenal. Give the man his all Star spot.

Speaker 4 (39:58):
And several people have agree with Stewart in the chat
who says z Mac and Torque they deserve their all
star spots. Man Street, thank you, yes, hey, I'm looking here,
Man Broader in the chat also because he asks for
his expertise earlier uh And he says Michael Bradard the
hitting coach, and uh By in his hitting philosophy with

(40:20):
Hinch up and down the organization, they actually have instituted
a real developmental program. He just says that it took
a little bit longer with the hitters, but that it
is there that they this was an institute point. They
went in saying no, we have to get a difference.
We have to have a difference made as it relates
to what our development is gonna do with the bat.

Speaker 8 (40:38):
That's good info, because you know, we glazed Chris Fetter
all the time, and rightfully so he deserves to be glazed.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
But the turnaround at this offense is made. You got
to get a hitting coach some credit.

Speaker 16 (40:48):
Man.

Speaker 8 (40:48):
I'm glad that they've made fundamental changes in order to
fix some of these guys' swings because it's been bad.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
For Forians we've lost to in the past. Those we
can remember the big, big, big plays.

Speaker 4 (40:58):
I just remember consistency out their lineup, Like, yo, they're
solving even our pitchers and our pitching staff was supposed
to be the it thing.

Speaker 3 (41:05):
They were supposed to be the unsolvable.

Speaker 4 (41:07):
And so it's like, you know, if our bats are
to that point where throughout the lineup you have this
type of consistency in which we've seen teams that are
less heralded be able to actually go and win a
World Series. This Bowl's really well because then, oh yeah,
by the way, we got people like Torque, we got
people like Riley Green who got out there and massing
your freaking face, like this team is so so, so

(41:28):
so stacked and shout out to a brother for dropping
that in the chat. It seems like the Tigers, before
they decided to go out and just start dropping cash everywhere,
they wanted to make sure that they had the right
stuff in place for their development, because how long did
we say, well, we always not even go out there
and buy stuff. But the development from the farm system
wasn't necessarily panning out the ways that we hoped. Now

(41:49):
they decided, let's bring in Chris Fetter, Let's bring in
Michael Bernard, let's revent these things.

Speaker 3 (41:55):
And we're looking at think.

Speaker 4 (41:56):
About this though you're one of ones of Casey minus
and Spencer torn right, we're looking at people be able
to have renaissances and they're helping a boaster what this
team is. And now you get to go and safe
now that we see everybody's taking a little bit of
a leap forward, Now you get to go and say,
you know what, we actually just need an arm.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
Think about that. Before all of this, we always thought
we gotta get it back, we need another bat.

Speaker 4 (42:18):
They've invested the right way in their development, and now
we're sitting here saying, now we have an embarrassment of riches.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
Let's just go and beef up the bullpen.

Speaker 5 (42:25):
And that's still probably my number one priority at the deadline.
I think that this lineup is proving to be better
than any of us imagined. I think better than even
some Tiger fans think right now. And a lot of
it has to do with not all of it, but
a lot of it has to do with the guys
that have been drafted and homegrown by the Tigers. When

(42:46):
it comes to Torgelsen, when it comes to Colt Keith,
when it comes to Riley Green, I mean, wezd three
to one to three in the chat put up a
power stat between rilly AND's and Torque forty three home runs.
And what's funny is is that doesn't it seem like
and I think the numbers will bear that out, that
they're never hot at the same time they stagger their

(43:07):
hot streaks. But that actually probably makes it better. So
at the beginning of the year, we all know Riley
was a slumping and Tork helped carry the offense. And
last month in June, Riley had the best month of
his career and Tork had a rough month. And right
now Riley's slumping again and Torque is hot.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
It's it's crazy, no Burger.

Speaker 5 (43:25):
The like there and I'm not.

Speaker 3 (43:29):
I just eat it though. I got this ball of
milk I got is good, though, Like the Tigers are
literally making every one of these situations like like this
thing is.

Speaker 5 (43:39):
And I'm not trying to be too sentimental and be
like they're playing for each other, because I don't think
that's that's that that that's necessarily it. But the way
that the results have come out is that like, hey, Riley,
you're a struggling a bit, I'm gonna hit a torque bomb,
and then the other way around. It's it's it's funny howwards,
because if I really feel like nerding out, I love
to just go back at every body score and see

(44:00):
how many times that both of them had great games,
because I don't think you'll see too much of that.
You usually see one or the other. But when one
has an eight sixty six ops, one is an eight
forty two, one has twenty two home runs, one has
twenty one, I mean, yeah, the one's got seventy two
and one's got I think fifty seven. I mean, all

(44:22):
you really need as long as you get contributions from
other guys like Glaber and Hobby and Dingler and now
Perez Lily sometimes all.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
You need is one of those guys Willy is bothered.

Speaker 4 (44:34):
I don't know if you're bothered or if you're like
if thus, but I just need to know what is
going on in Willie's finger.

Speaker 17 (44:42):
Though it's like, it's pretty hilarious for y'all say it.

Speaker 18 (44:45):
But I think this team could you know, make it
all the way, man, because this is this is too
much a good team and it seems like it's homemade.
The Tigers last couple of season. Look at the gim
Lee arras they it's more talent back in the more
talent this one. This today's Tigers is more of a

(45:06):
team aspect. I agree of the of the system because
we really not all stars. We ourself made all Stars.
Just remind me of two thousand and four Detroit Pistons. No,
just the similarities of it, you know, the similarities of it.
So that case, this team is a little bit more
of a team aspect because you got Spinster Targers. I

(45:28):
know he deserved to be All Star, but high rear
base came back, and you came back from from the dead,
and you got Riley Green back to back All Stars
and labor.

Speaker 3 (45:40):
Yeah, from the beginning of the s.

Speaker 17 (45:44):
And Special should have made All Star. But this team
is different.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
It's more of it.

Speaker 18 (45:48):
It's not stars study, but it's more of a hard work.
I'm gonna beat your ass top.

Speaker 3 (45:54):
Of team, right, So I can agree with that.

Speaker 8 (45:56):
It's more spread out for sure, because I always say,
if we had the bullpen we had today back then,
we would.

Speaker 5 (46:02):
Have had three or four series.

Speaker 3 (46:04):
Man, like that ship. We were devoidable all those years.
It's crazy.

Speaker 5 (46:09):
God, it was such an adventure even when it was
good man. Papa Grande would get some would good get
a guy on the base.

Speaker 3 (46:19):
Phil Coke.

Speaker 5 (46:20):
Nobody can get from fans. Nobody can get you a
save where you're ahead by one and you allow first
and second with two outs and a three two count
quite like Papa gand.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
I swear, but he came through.

Speaker 5 (46:31):
He get it done, though. Man was immaculate.

Speaker 3 (46:34):
Papa slander on this show, Potato Man.

Speaker 5 (46:38):
It does seem easier when will Vester Cainley are out there. Yes,
it's weird though, because because they're not as good of
closers as Jose.

Speaker 4 (46:46):
All the years of Tigers baseball we saw where the bullpen,
or at least closing games was an adventure yeah, and
now we have this bullpen though, we're just like all
can actually breathe like I can breathe like I used
to go into some of these games, even JV starts.

Speaker 3 (47:00):
If there was like if Papa Grande was coming in
the game, was like, all right, Papa, this is gonna
be a ride man. Like it's it's now. It's a
situation where you're exactly right. We're looking at situations where
Jack Flaherty got a.

Speaker 4 (47:13):
Decent game, but the bullpen is what really really really
shut down that game and made sure that we had
to win that.

Speaker 3 (47:21):
To me, it's a sign of what I believe this
team is gonna be.

Speaker 4 (47:23):
And Willy b you you talked about it too, and
you got some supporting the chapters to people who do
believe that wezd throw and three sounds like the Pistons.
To me, a couple of people agree that this Tiger's
team from a team aspect, the way that they're.

Speaker 3 (47:36):
Playing and winning and potentially playing for each other. I
do believe that that part of that's a part of sports.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
It's not gonna be your main driver because I'm even
sorry team said that they play for each other, you know,
but when you look at the things that made that
O four team special. There's some people who can see
at least some framework of that right here at this
Tiger's team.

Speaker 5 (47:53):
Yeah, and just just for some uh looking up some
Papa Grande numbers on the fly so we can be No.
Twenty eleven he was immaculate. Twenty twelve, the year they
made the World Series, he had thirty five saves but
a three point seven eight e R and he was
morbid in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (48:12):
Yeah, we razy cloud. Papa Grinde got it done most
of the time. But I like the way time became
invest get them out better.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
That's that's that's how it is.

Speaker 8 (48:22):
Hey, but gets who or a Papa Grinde the run
to the mound and he slap on the way out
coming Yes time, bro.

Speaker 3 (48:31):
Man on the mound epic though, absolutely efic What you said?
Will will you be?

Speaker 17 (48:36):
I feel Coa's interest the.

Speaker 3 (48:38):
Sprinted them to the with the mustache. What done, turn Ryan?
I know you've been trying to talk your talk for
some time and get your ship off. Yeah.

Speaker 19 (48:49):
I was just gonna say that this Tiger's team makes
zero sense to me, like at all. It doesn't like
like Torkosen should not be this good.

Speaker 5 (48:58):
Hobby.

Speaker 19 (48:58):
Hobby makes no sense to me either, and he's an
All Star starter. And then you look at the pitchers
with with School, Well, we know who he was gonna be.
But then you look at like Casey Mais being a dog,
Flaherty Olsen, and then the whole pitching chaos thing still
to this day makes zero sense to me. How we
can throw out a starter and he pitches one two
innings max, and then we just bullpen it and then

(49:19):
we still win games like this, To this day, this
team makes zero sense to me. And then you have McKinstry,
who I got to shout out my seeing you dog.
Zach mcintry won the Vegips fire out and one of
the best utility players in Major League. Like, this team
overall doesn't make sense, but yet they're the best team
in baseball. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Speaker 3 (49:38):
Ryan, We've been saying that all year. Yeah, that's why.
Sometimes that's why I was like, man, we just gotta
get to the bottom of this.

Speaker 4 (49:44):
Brotherer get what's going on over there, like it's and
it's right, Like when you see the investments they've made,
we should see these results it makes sense.

Speaker 3 (49:52):
I guess why they delayed just a little bit.

Speaker 4 (49:55):
Gotta see what you have, not just out of your players,
but is this development staff going to get some and good.
We cannot keep going year after year after year talking
about yay, right, we got this draft picked, and then
like five years later, we're is he gonna be anything?
Is he gonna be the star player that we're hoping
him to be? Now you're looking at them getting better
out of who they have on the roster. Right now,

(50:16):
you're seeing them get better out of the players they've drafted,
and that gives me even more high hopes for the
players they've just bumped up to eerie Like this team
is now when you talk about a pipeline, I think
that's what gives you long term success and a foundation
of success. Now you can go if Chris Ilie wants
to open up the pocketbooks, now he can go to
effectively fill in a spot or two rather than that's

(50:38):
the whole team.

Speaker 3 (50:39):
Like I like what they're doing now, Yeah, I do too.

Speaker 5 (50:41):
And Ryan before we move on to Rod because I
think or like hope he's online. Is what is it
with u CMU people in the media, whether it's Ryan,
whether it's Chase, whether it's Jim Costa, cannot help themselves
tripping over their things to be like see you fireworks

(51:02):
chimps every time. Any alum, damn, we can't, we can't.

Speaker 3 (51:08):
Him Slander had some great times in Mount.

Speaker 5 (51:11):
Pas but does justin trip over his Creig Jennings, Corey Davis.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
Because I gotta come right here.

Speaker 5 (51:28):
I gotta come out of I gotta come out of place.

Speaker 10 (51:30):
Oh my god, I can't stand these Central Michigan people.
They glaze all their old players.

Speaker 5 (51:35):
They act like Brownie here they claim J J.

Speaker 11 (51:40):
Watt.

Speaker 10 (51:41):
They bring these dumb ass little signs that they put
all around the studio here, let me pick it up.
I don't know where these even came from. There's literally
two of these in the studio now here, Like they
think that they're so sick.

Speaker 3 (51:54):
What the hell is I don't even know, like such
a dick move, but going what what.

Speaker 10 (52:06):
Things that they can talk to a school that's actually
won a national championship and yeah, well it's actually a
relevant sport, Big four sports.

Speaker 3 (52:16):
And the show hockey.

Speaker 20 (52:20):
I mean, as a Western Michigan y on that hockey,
that's all like all the room to talk we beat
him in football.

Speaker 3 (52:30):
This year.

Speaker 17 (52:33):
I Graduatedst.

Speaker 5 (52:34):
Michigan football win in the all time series. Well, that's
the thing. Whenever we mentioned Max Crosby, does Willie Beekle
like the Central people are the most provincial alums I've
ever seen in my entire exactly, I've never seen like.

Speaker 8 (53:02):
I don't think this ship is off the reels. First
of all, Sam, don't ever make their face again. Please, man,
don't ever do that. Will WILLI were not dick sucking
anyone exactly something alumni.

Speaker 3 (53:15):
I don't do that.

Speaker 9 (53:16):
We not.

Speaker 3 (53:16):
We don't do anybody anything. We don't do it. I'm
just saying the Central hate is really Central hate.

Speaker 5 (53:28):
It's like that every single time today school is Central
with all respect. What are we talking, Baker or something,
and it's like fire up.

Speaker 10 (53:43):
With all all due respect, with all due respect to
Central Michigan.

Speaker 3 (53:49):
Okay, with all due respect.

Speaker 10 (53:52):
Okay, you can't even bring up the word Central Michigan
without them glazing some aspect of their school.

Speaker 3 (53:59):
Like I'm not even kidding.

Speaker 10 (54:00):
Just like we we were talking about Michigan Oklahoma and
Chase brings up the fact that they're gonna be one
and two after they played Michigan plays Central Michigan Like, sorry,
that's not gonna happen. They're not gonna lose the Central
And that's the delusion that is across the Central Michigan
fan base. If Michigan played Western football, they beat the
breaks up the.

Speaker 7 (54:20):
Mad American Conference as anyway, it's the back though, Like yeah,
I was there.

Speaker 3 (54:31):
Let's look.

Speaker 17 (54:34):
A basketball it's a football program that was pretty good.

Speaker 3 (54:37):
We're not even talking about Eastern. We're gonna let.

Speaker 11 (54:42):
Me the legend.

Speaker 5 (54:47):
Legend who's that here?

Speaker 3 (54:54):

Speaker 11 (01:02:51):
Let's say you check there there. I don't know what's
going on just over here throwing CMU into trans unridiculous,
unbelievable right now, right then I'm getting go read hate
over here from PLANNETL Like what what is this?

Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
Well, I just say it because it was.

Speaker 5 (01:03:05):
You know, speaking of a super chill the chips to
come on. They are really provincial though. Let me clean
these up before we get to Rod. And this is
four nine nine from Robert Yaniet yaniek Sam. How does
the twenty twenty five Tigers stack against nineteen eighty four.
I mean there's some similarities, like eighty four deep pitching staff,
although I don't think Jack Morris is Trek Schouogle. You know,

(01:03:28):
a lineup full of like guys like Whittaker, Trammel, Chet
Lemon was young, Kirk Gibson had really just became Gibbee.
They didn't really have a super duper star, but they
didn't really have any weaknesses. I think this Tiger's team
has a better bullpen than the eighty four. I think
there's certainly some similarities and that is a really exciting sign.
And you look at Dante one to five to one

(01:03:49):
for people who said Mis missed too many games ue
to injuries. As of July ninth, twenty twenty five, Casey
Mis has missed a total of fourteen games or the
twenty twenty five MLB regular season due to injuries. Yeah, me,
is basically spent the time allotted for him on the
injured listening came right back. You could argue he was
snubbed as well. And one more from Burn before we
get to rod Our guys stay fresh because Hinch will

(01:04:09):
sacrifice a game to win the next series with fresh legs.
I don't know if he's sacrificing games necessarily, but I
get the sentiment. He's done a good job of staggering
Hobby platooning Carry and Colt. I get it. Jami Jones too.
Now that Jami Jones has turned into a weapon against lefties, so.

Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
He plays the matchup.

Speaker 5 (01:04:29):
Hinch has done a great job. And oh god, Fournet
nine from Chandler Miller, Mel Tuger was a U of
m plant, but no one's made to discuss.

Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
Plan Tuger.

Speaker 5 (01:04:42):
He dang it.

Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
Chandler Miller, he was tugging too much, tugging heavy. That's it.

Speaker 5 (01:04:50):
If you want to get Rod on.

Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
Yeah, let's get legend Rod Beard. He is a senior
sports editor at the Atlanta General Constitutions. Shut out to
the legend. Yeah, it's it's just a funny you Rod,
get him?

Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
What just happened? What is this?

Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
What?

Speaker 3 (01:05:12):
We don't know what you mean? You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
But we got we got KG back. This is a
this is gonna be the first like this is a
while with the whole fan man. And uh so you
know we got off the rails a little bit, man.

Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
Yeah, I don't know whether the trunk it up the
KG or just say that flannel. Sam just lit a
Molotov and just walked out the room like he was
he was a joker.

Speaker 3 (01:05:36):
I looked like then.

Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
It was like it was it was complete joker vibes,
Like he just litd at and then just started dancing
around on the steps.

Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
It's just like.

Speaker 4 (01:05:56):
The legend rob being go ahead and puts on there
and put some love into town.

Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
Farra will definitely read it throughout the segment.

Speaker 4 (01:06:03):
But man, it's a lot going on, especially in the
world of the Detroit Tigers ride, and there's a lot
to like about them. All stars came out, they got
four in there, But I got to ask you, did
you believe that they should have had more. There's a
lot of people who are looking at Zach McKinstry, and
you heard Finel Sam today talk about one.

Speaker 3 (01:06:22):
Spencer talk was.

Speaker 2 (01:06:25):
Yeah, I thought might get there and mckissry might be
the other. But four is significant when you really look
at it. And we really haven't been in this position
where we've had the best team in the league with
the best record in the league and saying four is
not enough. Remember the years we were talking about can
we get two? Is there a second win somewhere to
be had? Riley Green was the only one and is

(01:06:46):
there somebody? But again, for this fan base, you have
to get used to being on top that don't take
this for granted, understanding where they are right now, and
just want to do a quick hit on the difference
between the eighty four team and this team. It's the managing.
It's aj Hinch that this isn't an extremely talented team,

(01:07:08):
but he's won them a string of games just by
moves that he's done and rearranging the bullpen and rearranging
the batting order and the pinch hitting. Those little things
have won them quite a few games that make them
just a little bit better. And we've heard from other
former players who say that's the difference. Aj Hinch is
a big difference maker in how he manages this team.

(01:07:31):
And so that Tigers team wasn't uber talented and this
one certainly isn't uber talented. But I mean, there are
these anomalies. There is the hobby, There is the torque
bounce back. There is the McKinstry that you just saw
coming out of nowhere. A lot of this is just
things coming together at the right time, which is kind
of what we're talking about with the Pistons too. You

(01:07:51):
gotta be in position to get lucky in some of
these cases too.

Speaker 5 (01:07:55):
Sure and Rod, speaking of the Tigers, what's your confidence
level in starting pitching depth guys like Flaarty and Resource
and coming back and the bullpen. They're on a heater
right now, but there's been some inconsistencies. How confident are
you in that.

Speaker 2 (01:08:12):
Seven seven and a half that pitching just kind of
comes and goes throughout the season. What really matters, and
you guys talked about it with Papa Grande is show
me that in the playoffs, show me in the postseason
that you can come out and be dominant in that way.
And again, that's where the depth is, where you have
to build and make sure that you have enough starting
pitching to get you through a series.

Speaker 3 (01:08:32):
Hey, right, it's so good to talk to you again.

Speaker 16 (01:08:34):
Man.

Speaker 8 (01:08:34):
I'm only back because you requested me back. So just
so you know, I heard you kept my name alive
while I was gone.

Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
I appreciate that I got a freshet.

Speaker 8 (01:08:46):
Hey, y'all know what it is, man, But I had
to ask you just about what do you think the
Tigers philosophy should be at the trade deadline?

Speaker 3 (01:08:53):
Because last year they were in a much different position.

Speaker 8 (01:08:57):
At this time of the year, you were really just
trying to stay afloat this year, they are leading their division,
arguably the best team in all of baseball. Do they
need to make any changes? Is there anything specific that
you think they need or are they fine as this?

Speaker 2 (01:09:11):
I think the bullpen you can go out and and
you can tinker with that a little bit doesn't hurt
to go get another starter and maybe another bat if
you think you need that too. But some of this
is just getting guys so other contenders don't get them.
And some of this is just making sure that you
have the depth to get you through the postseason.

Speaker 4 (01:09:28):
Yeah, you know, I had to save. I wanted to
ask in particular about one player who made the All
Star team.

Speaker 3 (01:09:33):
But I think it's that some people don't think it
deserves to be an All Star starter.

Speaker 8 (01:09:38):
I tossed it over to KG and just real quick
because you know, I keep hearing this name Byron Buckston
and listen, right, I hate to hate on the fellow brother.
You know, I'm not trying to do that, but I
don't ever want to hear Byron bucks in his name again.

Speaker 5 (01:09:50):
That's an absurd bias.

Speaker 3 (01:09:53):
Wild Rod has n to break the team shirt. Listen,
how v bias has.

Speaker 24 (01:09:57):
Had the greatest single player come back definitely and Tiger's
history and arguably in baseball history, from the worst everyday
player in all of baseball to a All Star starter
the next year.

Speaker 8 (01:10:09):
And what we're trying to get through the flannel Sam
is that these things do matter. Like the story matters.
He's been the best story in all of baseball. The comeback,
it matters. But do you think that he deserves to
be a starter, because obviously he deserves to be an
All Star.

Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
But do you think he deserves to be a starter.

Speaker 2 (01:10:26):
Two words, fan voting.

Speaker 3 (01:10:29):
That's all it is.

Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
That's whole discussion. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what
the numbers are. And I think I said this last week.
If you told me that Haave Bayez playing center field
would have more All Star votes than Mike Trout, Like,
what are we doing? Okay, that's just what it is.
It's not it's not about numbers at that point. It's

(01:10:53):
just what the fans want to see.

Speaker 5 (01:10:55):
And that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
That's that's That's a simple discussion. It doesn't even matter.
Byron back busting is a better outfielder than Hobby Bias.
Is he having a better season? Doesn't matter. It's all
they fans care about.

Speaker 15 (01:11:05):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (01:11:06):
He's having a better year. He should be thrown out
the league. According to.

Speaker 3 (01:11:11):
Cut him, I just don't want to hear his name
in this studio no more.

Speaker 8 (01:11:15):
Keep saying it because he's better, It don't matter. Say
it with me now, al All Star starter Hobby Byas.
It's like a pip name slip back. You gotta say
the whole thing.

Speaker 5 (01:11:24):
I don't agree with it. I'm happy for him in
the season he's had, but maybe for better or for worse.
I'm an analytical kind of guy. It doesn't really matter
about the teams. If the numbers don't match up, I
don't agree with it.

Speaker 3 (01:11:34):
My bad, My bad.

Speaker 5 (01:11:35):
If you guys don't like it, fine, I know you
guys don't, but.

Speaker 4 (01:11:39):
You don't like fun But we we love. We walk
with you, Steve like you are the fun Police, though
Jesus Christ.

Speaker 3 (01:11:49):
Like live to thank you.

Speaker 5 (01:11:57):
One more, one more question about the Tigers, because I
know that he almost gets I wouldn't say forgotten, but
kind of the obvious one. Trek Scooble has managed to
have an even better year this year than last year.
Have you seen many pitching heaters in your life like
the one Terrek School is on right now?

Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
Verlander comes to mind. I mean, there were just times
where it was every single start you thought was gonna
be a no hitter. You just thought it because he
had the stuff to make it happen. And Schoogle is
approaching that must see JV level. He's I'm gonna say
he's not quite there, because Pete Verlander was just incredible

(01:12:38):
to watch on a game the game basis, but Schoogle
is right there on.

Speaker 4 (01:12:41):
That yeah, and you know Rod, We're gonna say what
up doing to some friends and we'll get back because
we do. Got some videos from Trajan landing yesterday Chasly
near Detroit, Pistons second round draft pick with the number
thirty seven overall pick, had his introductory press conference right
after Trajan had a media scrum.

Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
Some pretty interesting things.

Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
If people are looking to figure out what this team
is going to be moving forward, because I see will
he Be. Willy Be has been so unsettled by this
offseason man.

Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
And.

Speaker 4 (01:13:12):
He's over there like rumbling and moving every day this
week we've talked about this man he is, so he's
in a place.

Speaker 3 (01:13:19):
Who's to say that?

Speaker 4 (01:13:20):
So let's say what I've friends, we'll hear from Trading Langdon,

We've had Intern Haley and Intern Ryan holding down on

Speaker 3 (01:17:49):
And we also got the legend Rod Beard.

Speaker 4 (01:17:51):
Now we also hear from one Trajan Landon as we
get into this wood we're pissing segment Rod Beard. I
wanna get his star first. We'll get Rod's thoughts first.
Then we'll do Treasure Langdon because it kind of plays
right into our Swischer break question. So, Rod, it's a
lot going on with the Pistons, or if you ask,
will to be not a lot going on with the Pistons.

Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
But what everything that's going on is bad?

Speaker 2 (01:18:20):
What did he want them to have the number five
pick again? That we're beyond that, we passed that, we
graduated out of that pick. No I think it's it's
NBA is in a weird space right now, like Dame's
getting cut. That's what we're doing. And now we're starting
to see some of these signings and and things are
gearing up. You have to feel better about where the

(01:18:42):
Pistons are, especially in the East that just kind of
staying pat and adding the pieces that they did. And
I don't know where the hate for Kious Lavert is
coming from. You absolutely need a shot creator in that
second unit and if you're not starting dunking, then having

(01:19:05):
that three point shooter to go along with that and
the kick out and we know the carriage is a
capable passer, Like that's a combination that you absolutely missed
last year. So I don't know, but I feel better
about where the Pistons are going to be just based
off of the things that they did. And here in
Atlanta there's a lot of optimism about Porzingis and naw
and the additions that they made to Luke Canard. But

(01:19:29):
it is the Pistons are right there. They have that
opportunity to thinks go their way that they could be
in the top three, top four in the ease.

Speaker 4 (01:19:38):
Hey you know what, and when you talk about just
Atlanta real quick before we go to the Trajan videos.

Speaker 3 (01:19:43):
They've made some improvements.

Speaker 4 (01:19:44):
I know that there's some people who feel bullish about
what they can be next season. Definitely better than where
they finished last year. As you see some of these
seems retooling, as you see some of them making some
head scratching moves, you are confident that we're going to
see a top four Pistons team next year.

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
I think top four, top four, as long as they
can avoid injury and they have that internal improvement. And
I saw the Jalen during three point.

Speaker 3 (01:20:10):
It's that time.

Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
It off Yeah, man, I mean, and it's just deja
vu to me taking the Andre Drummond videos and like, hey,
this could be a thing and it's like okay, here
we go all over again.

Speaker 4 (01:20:24):
It's funny because you know, when we're in practice. He
does that every practice too, though this is a part
of their routine. So it's funny when in the off
season when that same workout that I've seen him do
the last two years and practices for some reason and
off season it just sends people into a flurry.

Speaker 3 (01:20:42):
But it is good to see Jalen Duran trying to
work on his game.

Speaker 4 (01:20:46):
I just hope that in addition to that, like we know,
he's working on the other things as well, getting better defensively, getting.

Speaker 3 (01:20:52):
Stronger and such.

Speaker 4 (01:20:52):
And you know, I think that's the perfect thing, the
perfect way to segue into Trajan Langdon's comments and such
from the press conference yesterday, because we did talk about
the fact that we're gonna see a different side of
guys like Asar Thompson. He said, Osar Thompson looks different.
He said, he looks muscular, he's filled out. Uh, And
that to me, it gets me excited because I do
believe we need to see players like him, players like

(01:21:13):
Jalen Duran and even Jade n Ivy come back.

Speaker 3 (01:21:16):
Strong next season.

Speaker 4 (01:21:18):
So let's hear from Trajon land in the first video
if we can, JB. Smooth, Let's hear about that trade exception,
because that's something everybody's wondering.

Speaker 3 (01:21:26):
Hey, what are the Pistons gonna do with it?

Speaker 4 (01:21:27):
He explained exactly what this creates for the Pistons, and
they're all look ahead.

Speaker 23 (01:21:33):
Zacho will allow us a different evidence to do things.
Whether that's an hour later, we don't know. But we're
not in a rush to fill the fourteenth.

Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
But I think we're excited about the rush.

Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
Hey, Willy be not gonna like this, He said, Hey, look,
it gives us flexibility to have this trade exception, but
we are not in a rush. We're not in a
rush at all to use this thing. It's for the flexibility.
And we've been seeing this up for months, even before
the offseason hit that we believe that the Pistons are
really gearing up and keeping themselves flexible for the trade
deadline as well as next off season, where they have

(01:22:06):
a whole lot of decisions to make on three of
their young players and Tobias Harris's expiring contract, in addition
to the fact that realistically, if they wanted to punt
the players that they brought in this year to the
moon after this season, they could do that too.

Speaker 3 (01:22:19):
So there's a whole lot of.

Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
Decisions have to make, and I wanted to be able
to at least get your take on Trajan Langdon saying
you know what, we're gonna actually be patient and letting
people know we're in no rush to use this.

Speaker 3 (01:22:30):
We liked the way that our team his quote, is
built right.

Speaker 5 (01:22:32):
Now, same results next year.

Speaker 3 (01:22:36):
You take take five bros. Okay, who do you want
them to go get?

Speaker 2 (01:22:47):
Willie?

Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
Who do you want them to go get? You gotta
who will rob.

Speaker 17 (01:22:55):
A big if it could be full ball, or.

Speaker 18 (01:23:01):
You gotta make it possible and then make it possible
not impossible. Trade, but they need I need something A stretch,
A stretch big, he to boostle the trier.

Speaker 3 (01:23:10):
And you'll be satisfied after a stretch big.

Speaker 17 (01:23:12):
Yes, that's it. That's it. Need help? Do you need help?

Speaker 11 (01:23:15):
Interior?

Speaker 17 (01:23:15):
That's what happened.

Speaker 3 (01:23:16):
So you're not buying the jailing during the off season
three point videos.

Speaker 2 (01:23:21):
I'm buying.

Speaker 17 (01:23:21):
I'm buying them.

Speaker 1 (01:23:22):
I'm buying them.

Speaker 3 (01:23:22):
I'm not buying him either. You know, a rock with it?

Speaker 17 (01:23:26):
If you get hit the fifteen eight foot, I'll be
fine with that.

Speaker 3 (01:23:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:23:29):
Just need help.

Speaker 17 (01:23:30):
Jail doing needs help.

Speaker 5 (01:23:32):
That's all he does.

Speaker 17 (01:23:32):
He need Paul is not enough. He needs.

Speaker 3 (01:23:37):
Two years, two years big.

Speaker 17 (01:23:41):
It needs another big to help out on the defensive end.
He could do.

Speaker 3 (01:23:44):
He don't have to do that much.

Speaker 17 (01:23:45):
Long an interior or you shooting three pointer or a
defend that's it.

Speaker 5 (01:23:50):
That's all.

Speaker 2 (01:23:51):
Okay. So so an interior interior presence who defends and
who can stretch the floor.

Speaker 15 (01:23:58):
Let me introduce you to Isaiah Stewart playoffs and did
not play.

Speaker 2 (01:24:05):
That's it checks all the boxes of everything that you
just said, and he was a little bit limited by them.
They need more help than Isaiah Stewart. I mean I
don't I don't disagree, but I mean, yeat, his thirty
two percent is not going to be enough from three.
You need somebody else, But I don't know if that
player is out there. Like if you were going to

(01:24:27):
get John Collins, are you going to pay John Collins?
So in dealing with a lot of these free agents
that you want to go and get, not you, but
people just want to go and get. One of the
things that Trajan Landen has done very well is to
keep the cap flexibi ability. Is no albatross Blake Griffin
contract that you're looking at. Oh I wish we could
get up off of that contract. And even Isaiah Stewart

(01:24:49):
and his sixteen million is a bargain right now when
you see what people just got paid that you're not.
You're paying him a what was a bargain at the time,
and we said it that it was it's fifteen million year,
but it's something that as the cap continues to increase
and people start getting paid and getting getting.

Speaker 15 (01:25:08):
Re upped, that we're gonna consider that to be a
good deal in a couple of years.

Speaker 2 (01:25:12):
And it very much is that.

Speaker 3 (01:25:14):
Yeah, definitely, man. And you know what, that's what he
said too.

Speaker 4 (01:25:17):
What I like about trading langdon as I like about
Scott Harrison, Brad Holmes and even Iman's these people are
actually true to what they say their plan is. And
Iceman was for real with us when he said, hey,
look bro, my goal is not the playoffs this year.
It's to build for the right way.

Speaker 3 (01:25:32):
He said it.

Speaker 4 (01:25:34):
People can see that they're still building somewhat the right way.
But there he was nice but changing. And Brad and
and and and you're looking at Scott, these guys have
been true to it. He said, We're not going to
do anything that's going to hamper the future for us.
And I understand why they have a lot of decisions

(01:25:54):
to make, and I think people have to just just
even if we don't understand how all the CBA works,
just look at the situation next offseason. It's crazy the
amount of cap space that the Detroit Pistons could create
by next off season.

Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
It would be.

Speaker 4 (01:26:07):
Ridiculous for them to go and hamper themselves right now
unless it's for a player that you believe is going
to be firmly.

Speaker 3 (01:26:13):
A part of your future. And you know what though,
and yeah, talk to me, but.

Speaker 2 (01:26:18):
Even more, you keep that trade exception and when you
get to the deadline you can bring in somebody. So
everybody feels like they're in it right now and they
have an opportunity, and these free agents are happy because hey,
we're about to start season blah blah blah. When you
get to the deadline, of teams realize that they're out
because of other injuries because they just didn't live up
to expectations. Now you have an exception that you can
bring in a fourteen million dollar guy and it's hey,

(01:26:40):
it doesn't cost you anything in order to do that.
So to Willibe's point, you can wait it out. You
don't have to go into the season that way. But hey,
they have some options in their bigs. It is a
star going to come in and be shooting better. Those
are the types of questions that we need to be asking.
And yeah, I would love another big too. They're not

(01:27:01):
deep at that point at that position, but you have
the opportunity to go and do some things. And with
this depth, you can go and trade some of these
younger guys that you have if you really feel like
you're close and there's a guy that you want to
go out and get exactly.

Speaker 4 (01:27:15):
And the thing is that I'm starting to gather rod
is that the young player's value is not established to
the tune that the Pistons are okay with. They're not
gonna sell cheap on guys like Jalen d Osar Thompson
or even a Jaden Ivy if they were going to
sell them, and that to me is a sign of
a healthy organization.

Speaker 3 (01:27:33):
These are your lottery picks, these are your top five picks.

Speaker 4 (01:27:37):
And during the top thirteen pick who we know, the
Pistons organization had them on their top five on their
draft board, you know, top five players period in that draft,
So we understand how they value these guys, and I
actually do when you look at the Tigers have done
to go and bolster development in house before they went
and started splashing cash everywhere. I actually appreciate the fact
that Pistons they're not just assessing, but they're trying to

(01:27:58):
help these guys get better.

Speaker 3 (01:28:00):
They going do.

Speaker 4 (01:28:00):
They went before they even had a head coach in
the Trading Ainton era and brought in Fred Vinson. Looking
at what the Tigers are doing right now? They did
those moves. Those equated to winning moves. I'm looking at
the Pistons doing it. It's equating the winning moves. I
like the fact that they're going to value put a
lot of value on these draft picks other than otherwise,
what are you doing?

Speaker 3 (01:28:20):
Why pick these guys? Why dub them the restore? You know,
why say that this is the help that we have.

Speaker 4 (01:28:24):
Because Trajan, from my takeaway from this press conference, he
one hundred percent believes in these young players. Let's start
with Jay and Ivy clip and then we'll end it
with the the longer clip after that where he talks
about he believes what he's gonna do, what they're gonna
do in the East. I'll save his answer for that clip,
but let's go with the Jay and Ivy one right now.

Speaker 23 (01:28:43):
I think the one thing that does get lost in office,
to be honest with you, is Ji's return. I mean
a lot of people are saying, you know who you feeling,
who you're helping.

Speaker 2 (01:28:51):
These guys are exident gonna.

Speaker 23 (01:28:52):
Say, well, we have them pretty good for each and
pick up in Ji and so I think he's gonna
fill a lot of those.

Speaker 3 (01:28:57):
Point guard rules and who they making.

Speaker 23 (01:28:59):
Rules and that you feeling that loss of data stay
as well.

Speaker 4 (01:29:04):
Yeah, and then that one you hear Trajan Langdon talking
about Jade and Ivy. This question wasn't even prompted by
house Jada and Ivy doing. This was a question prompted
at do you believe you've effectively done enough to show
up this secondary ball handling role in the off season.
Trajan Langdon is the one who went and offered up
so like Monty Williams a year ago or two years ago,

(01:29:25):
just unprovokedly brought up Killian Hayes when we were trying
to figure out about Marcus Sosser and j and Ivy
this year, we asked about the backup role.

Speaker 3 (01:29:32):
And you know what, Jay and.

Speaker 4 (01:29:33):
Ivy is the first name out of the GM's mouth,
out of the president, I'm sorry, a basketball operation's mouth,
and he stated, you know, Jada and Ivy is a
guy that we believe will and can handle all of
this secondary facilitation, backup ball handling, because I know there's
a lot of people who are worried about losing a Beasley,
losing a Shrewder and have we done enough to replace that.

(01:29:54):
Trajan really believes in what Jade and Ivy can be
as an overall player to fill those voids.

Speaker 3 (01:29:59):
And he also mentioned you heard your Charis Avert.

Speaker 2 (01:30:03):
Carouse Lavert that that was gonna be my two words.
Kris LeVert is a backup ball handler. He's not a
point guard per se, but at that size at six',
six you want another ball handler who can facilitate and,
create and he can do those. Things THAT'S i just
think it's gonna end up being a very Underrated it
is a very underrated pick up right, now but we'll
start to see the fruit to that as we get

(01:30:24):
into the, season.

Speaker 4 (01:30:25):
Definitely and we got one more video for you, guys
and this Is Trajon langdon on his assessment of this
team and what they can do in The. East because
we continue to, ask LIKE i, Know willie bees over To,
skyland have we done?

Speaker 3 (01:30:36):
Enough listen From, JASON.

Speaker 2 (01:30:40):
I think we have a chance to compete next.

Speaker 23 (01:30:42):
Year so when you say, REPRESENTATIVE i think for the
main thing that for us is continuing to let these
young guys, develop and they're in the gym and they're
working there about Off SO i thing, is LIKE i,
said from initially in the, summer they get, Better we're
gonna get. Better so it was still finding pieces to
compliment our young players and their growth and ability to
reach their. Potentials SO i put people around that's going

(01:31:04):
to continue to Help kate grow and developed as. WELL
i think with our two, editions we got, bigger and you,
know we want to continue for the other guys that can,
play make a little, bit but also been sure the.
Ball these two guys have a postseason experience as, Well
SO i think in a way that you, know we
do get, bigger we would be. Better i'm not, sure

(01:31:24):
BUT i obviously that comes from again with both of
our young guys were.

Speaker 2 (01:31:27):
In the gym and and.

Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
Development and he continues to put this offseason and what
this team's success would be this year right back on
those young. Players he continues to, say if we're going
to be, anything it's going to be about how we
build around these, guys how we build around not Just
kate but all of these other young players that they're,
saying these guys have to make the. Step what they're
doing in the, gym and he's continuing to say this

(01:31:50):
they get, Better we will get. Better that's that's a crazy,
endorsement because this is not just THE, gm this is
the president Of Basketball, operations in which they gave him
singular voice of power in this whole entire basketball thing
for The, pistons and he's stating that these young players
can take such a leap between now and the start
of next season that it's as if.

Speaker 3 (01:32:10):
They've went and added a couple good players to the.

Speaker 4 (01:32:13):
Squad that's how much belief he has in them that
this team has currently, constructed even though they don't even
have all of the pieces they had last. Year they
haven't even won to one replaced. Everybody they just believe
that much in the young players and N A. J
niv that this team is gonna step up out of
six seed and be a team that has the potential
to host a playoff.

Speaker 2 (01:32:31):
Series Ronal, right and the thing is that you're not.
Panicking this was the summer that you could have panicked and,
said you know, what let's trade, Everybody let's go Get,
kadi let's go get one of these bigger, names and
we need a guy who's gonna Be batman To Cage
robin or it's it's not. That and the fact that

(01:32:53):
your front office isn't panicking to try to make a
move like that is a strong signal that they're on
the right. Path don't have to go all in and
push all the chips in in order to be. Relevant
sometimes you just get the right. Timing and with all
of these injuries in The east that we've been talking,
about by virtue of, that you're gonna be better than
you were and you count on that internal, improvement and

(01:33:15):
we've seen the drive From jade And ivy that he
wants to be better with a lot of that stuff
just coming, back and the pieces that.

Speaker 15 (01:33:22):
They've, added they were very specific things Like.

Speaker 2 (01:33:26):
Karris the vert was not this oh, yeah, okay, yeah
maybe this is a guy that we could, Use, no
this is A it addresses a very specific. Need and
the pivot to Go Duncan robinson after The beasley stuff
was very we know we need three point shooting and
we know that he is a, consistent proven playoff. Guy
and as much as we Love Malik, beasley you look

(01:33:49):
at what they've done and it wasn't nothing was super.
Splashy but if you thought you were Losing. Shrewder they've
kind of pivoted pretty well to cover that stuff up
and to not get a player back in That shrewder
deal to still end up with a ball handler And.
CARRIS i think they did pretty well with what the
circumstances ended.

Speaker 4 (01:34:10):
Up and you know what we said this early, on we,
said you know, What we're gonna call this the offseason a,
pivot and he had to do it twice in this.
OFFSEASON i thought he came away quite. Well and you
should put the onus on these young.

Speaker 3 (01:34:21):
Players.

Speaker 4 (01:34:21):
Rod we've been sitting up here telling The Woo Wire
pistons audience And, Whoop we're sports audience for a few
years that this, rebuild this, renaissance this ascending to the next,
level it has to be off of these young players
and their energy and what they're.

Speaker 3 (01:34:35):
Providing you look at the magic right. Now i'm sorry
everybody thought that they were.

Speaker 4 (01:34:39):
ALREADY i guess healthy isn't the right way a healthy,
organization but obviously they're dealing with injuries To polo To
franzos about the only things that can trip them. Up
but we know if those young players are, playing those
young players are leading that magic team to the. Playoffs
we haven't been able to say that about our young
players until this year With Cade cunningham taking that next step.

Speaker 3 (01:34:58):
Up we need the rest of these. Guys who's Who's
cade's pollo To franz on this? Squad you? Know do
we have?

Speaker 4 (01:35:05):
That and based on WHAT i hear From Trajan, langdon
it sounds like he does expect at least one of
these young, guys whether it Be Jayden during or Shar
thompson or even A jade And ivy to take that
step next. Year BUT i think we have some were
writy For Swisher. Break oh of, course should.

Speaker 3 (01:35:20):
WE takei ONE Jb smooth or we just get through
The Swisher.

Speaker 11 (01:35:24):
Break let's just here From Ven johnson come right back to.
You then how about?

Speaker 4 (01:35:28):
That, hey let's do that and then uh we'll throw
the graphic up to make it. Official so we want
The chat family to definitely be involved as well With Swisher.
Break but if you've got a, crisis let then point the.
Way step, One, hey Wially, be this is for. You
you got a crisis right now in The pistons. World step,
one verify details and. Photos step, two engage your attorney step. Three, no,

(01:35:51):
no notify your insurance. Provider get justice with Vin Vin johnson.

Speaker 3 (01:35:55):
Long, hey and we are. Back let's see that. GRAPHIC.
Jb smoth got, it, MAN i ain't seen it in so.
LONG A swiss. Break god damn that history right now
to pass over THE Kg what?

Speaker 14 (01:36:07):
Up?

Speaker 8 (01:36:08):
Brother, hey y'all know what it is, Man swish or.
Break we got some great questions constructed by kool. AID
i only got one to add to. That if we have,
time would love to get that one, off but we
will start. Here Trajent langdon deserves at least A b
plus for The pistons Offseason swiss orbit.

Speaker 4 (01:36:24):
When we're talking about the off season Of. PIVOT i
do believe that this is a passing. GRADE i do
believe that this is more than a. PASSING i think
it's more than A. C i think that this is
when you look at everything that he. Had he kept
the cap sheet, Clean he kept their flexibility at the
trade deadline wide. Open so if there is a need
that presents itself that can actually go out and play

(01:36:45):
with a lot of money without adding anything else to their,
books they already have it already taken care, of and
they've gone and the positions of need that they, lost
they were able to fill those.

Speaker 3 (01:36:55):
THINGS i believe it is A b. Plus but what
say Flamm.

Speaker 5 (01:36:58):
Sam i'm gonna say, brick but not by. MUCH i
Think dad With taretz nails it in the, CHAT i D.
K i don't know ABOUT b, plus But i'd SAY
b OR b. Minus there's one move in mind THAT
i would Like trajan to. Make we may get to it,
today we may get to it later this. Week that
would make it A b plus a. Minus BUT i
am as basketball. PLAYERS i Understand Carros, sliver AND i

(01:37:19):
Understand Duncan, robinson And i've been champion, championing championing these
moves on this. SHOW i just right, Now i'd SAY
b OR b, minus NOT b.

Speaker 4 (01:37:26):
Plus, yeah you got a lot of support for The.
BEES i see some switches in the chat From, greg
but we'll we'll continue to go. Around, Uh Willie, BE
i gotta ask, you, man plus switch or break.

Speaker 3 (01:37:42):
Like a disappointed. Parent right?

Speaker 18 (01:37:43):
Now crazy break a break because they need one piece
like final, Say i'm back in flannel on this.

Speaker 17 (01:37:50):
One it's that you need a backup big or even
store and The Jalen.

Speaker 3 (01:37:56):
Durn jamie s. Mooth, Oh, jason just say we.

Speaker 11 (01:38:00):
Will he still has something, else but, UH i don't
want to say it's a. Brick it's like a mislay.
Up i'll say that it just rolls off the side
of the rim because it's NOT. B Plus i'm giving.
It but at least A, b a SOLID. Bee you
still want to see him make some more. Moves hopefully
you can get rid Of tobias and get another big.

Speaker 16 (01:38:18):
But that.

Speaker 3 (01:38:22):
They back on that, again not a season over. Anyway
it's a SOLID.

Speaker 11 (01:38:30):
Bee it's a SOLID. B you're still hoping that he
makes some, moves but it's a SOLID.

Speaker 3 (01:38:33):
B tobias f.

Speaker 8 (01:38:35):
RIGHT, Jb, YES, jb we're not doing. That that, man
damn near like carried us through this playoff.

Speaker 3 (01:38:41):
Run we're not gonna do, that but he CARRIED i
agree With sam AND. Kg I'm sam and K.

Speaker 8 (01:38:48):
Sam, yeah of COURSE i agree WITH, kg But sam AND.
JB i do agree With it is a, solid solid
beef for.

Speaker 3 (01:38:55):
Me but what a lot of.

Speaker 8 (01:38:56):
People And, Roy i'm so glad you came on here
and spoke the gospel about here because the outrage in
terms of that signing was like blasphemous to. ME i
know he's not the bordering twenty point a game scorer
that he once, was but that's a very very good
addition to this. BENCH i think most people just forgot
that This pistons team is ahead of, Schedule like and you,
know Kool, ay we kind of talked about it yesterday like.

(01:39:18):
That maybe the decision was always whatever happens this year.
Happens but we're looking at twenty twenty. Six we're looking
at twenty twenty, seven So i'm not mad at anything they've.
Done you were able to pivot from A Malik beasley
situation and we're able to Get Duncan, robinson who is
the same type of. Player, literally they are a washed
and you went out there and Got Karris lavert to

(01:39:39):
replace A Dennis shrewder and in some instances simone fan tek.

Speaker 3 (01:39:44):
Yo So i'm, cool. Man could they do? More, YES
i still think there's more to be, done but as
of right, Now i'm cool as a.

Speaker 4 (01:39:50):
Fan, hey you know what the child lit up with this?
One dante one five to. One he says a, swish he,
did says. Brick he gives him a Be dad would
trust you Read devin. Earlier he, says probably say A.
B charles, McLain Brick, Ay David trutz gives them what
the MAYBE b Minus greg though he gives them A
Swiss jona Fan, lord A swiss Twel lamar gives him AN.

Speaker 3 (01:40:09):
A AND i saw who was it somebody that STATED
i think it might've been.

Speaker 4 (01:40:14):
A, this but it stated that out here it is L,
actually he says he gives them AN a plus because
they have. Foresight they had the foresight to keep money
for the trade. Deadline, actually, YEAH i get, it and
that trade exception could be huge in terms of a
deal later. On we don't know what say Ye.

Speaker 3 (01:40:31):
Rod, Beard.

Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
I'm gonna say a SOLID. B so it's a, brick
But i'll say a SOLID. B if they win and
Got Brook, LOPEZ i would go a plus all. Day oh,
yeah that would have been that would have checked all
of the boxes for what they. Needed BUT i mean
it is when you look at what free agency was

(01:40:54):
and all of the names that we talked, about The
bobby Portis, is the Nas, reads even The, salty all
of those folks came off the board immediately before even
the negotiating period was really. Open they were all. Gone
so there wasn't a big to go out there and
get unless it was like A Brook. Lopez but he
wanted to go to The. Clippers he thinks that's a better. Deal,

(01:41:14):
hey stay in The east and join This pistons team
and they could be. Fire but for what they did
in having to pivot last, MINUTE i think that gives
them a solid enough.

Speaker 3 (01:41:24):
Beat, hey shout, out shout. Out that's.

Speaker 8 (01:41:26):
Fair, Absolutely rob speaking the gospel and kind of to
piggyback What sam was talking. ABOUT i know what player
you was referring, to and we have a question for.
It The pistons should pursue one OF. Pj washington Or
Obi topping before the season.

Speaker 3 (01:41:40):
Starts swish or.

Speaker 4 (01:41:41):
Break, hey, listen you're talking about some players who With Obie,
Topping you've seen this guy play in a lot of different.
SITUATIONS i do believe he brings some experience to you
and with THE. Pj, WASHINGTON i love the versatility that
he brings to this thing in a little bit of
That detroit. Grit AND i do believe THAT. Pj washington Got.

Speaker 3 (01:41:59):
Kim folk from.

Speaker 4 (01:42:00):
HERE i believe it's his father who might be from
The saginaw, area and SO i gotta start with, You Flannel,
sam BECAUSE i do believe that one of those players
will absolutely be a swish of a free agency for
The Dejroit.

Speaker 3 (01:42:12):
Pistons but what say, ye they gotta pursue one of
these two, Players swish or.

Speaker 5 (01:42:17):
Break neither of them are actually my first, choice BUT
i will go With swish BECAUSE i really Like Obi
topping from everything That i've. Seen he would fit under
the trade. Exemption showed a lot in the playoffs in the,
finals has improved his three point. Shot, obviously is, athletic can,
rebound can. DEFEND i would Love Obi topping on this.

Speaker 3 (01:42:37):
Team well would that make you? Happy will you?

Speaker 16 (01:42:40):
Be?

Speaker 18 (01:42:40):
Oh, Definitely i'll give A swish BECAUSE i Definitely Obie
topping high flyers six,' nine he'd. Been athletic he doesn't play,
his role, heagle rebound he can bend, A little.

Speaker 5 (01:42:53):
HE'S perfect I.

Speaker 17 (01:42:54):
Like pj washington a lot better because the way he
Does in dallas and.

Speaker 18 (01:42:58):
He's athletic are multiple positions sole.

Speaker 16 (01:43:04):
And.

Speaker 5 (01:43:04):
Just switch just one more extra Thing About obie topping
wouldn't require a lot, of usage did a lot of
damage on less than twenty minutes per game last year
in The regular.

Speaker 3 (01:43:13):
Season's that's actually a. Huge point WHAT Up?

Speaker 11 (01:43:16):
Jb, smooth uh there's definitely. A swish i wouldn't MIND A.
Pj washington he did a lot For the MAVs. As
well you just say that as, Well TOO but I
think I Prefer obie topping a little, bit more just
As what, flannel says you don't have to use him,
a lot but still he's very athletic and you like
what he's you've seen out of him in the playoffs this.
Past season so Give Me obie topping and.

Speaker 3 (01:43:37):
The, swish uh it's a swish on one of these guys.
FOR me I.

Speaker 8 (01:43:42):
Think pj washington would be the perfect addition to. This
team like the way, he defends he can hit a,
three ball he drives the paint like he is everything
that you would want in a player fitting the mold
Of this. Pistons team i'm still not Sold On, obi
topping and he did have a, great Year and sam
has done a, great job but like trying to, illustrate
that maybe it's just some of my bias From what

(01:44:03):
i've seen, from him but he still seems a little
bit limited to me as opposed TO. A pj washington
that you know can play all over. The FLOOR but
i WOULD. Pursue pj but If It's, OBIE topping i wouldn't.
BE upset i just don't, think that, you know it's
it's not a dire need to. Pursue HIM and i
see the chat is.

Speaker 4 (01:44:20):
Split, Again man i'm seeing some swishes Here from Jhon
fan Lord from mitting made From greg.

Speaker 3 (01:44:26):
A disis pj was solid on. The Mask DAVID tourette's
pj is A big, i? Want uh.

Speaker 5 (01:44:35):
Is?

Speaker 3 (01:44:35):
It big wants a Lot of.

Speaker 4 (01:44:36):
PISTONS fans i guess a Lot of pistons fans DEFINITELY
Want pj. WASHINGTON here i also saw some bricks in the,
chat too but largely it seems like people are. For
It But terrell Lamar Says brick dante one five, to
one He wants topping and we zd three.

Speaker 3 (01:44:49):
And three, he says neither a couple of those. Little
either you don't want neither. Of those he run. It
back you're good, To, Go Hey, rob beard? WHAT'S say.

Speaker 2 (01:44:59):
I Don't think obi happen is gettable because he's in
that fifteen mill range fourteen this year fifteen. To sixteen
these contract escalates over the next couple, of years you
probably have to trade to go. Get him WHAT. Is
pj washington's salary for next year expiring fourteen point? One
five what Is the pistons? Trade? Exception oh? Eight?

Speaker 3 (01:45:23):
Two oh you.

Speaker 2 (01:45:27):
Go get that man on An expiring and that IS
what i was. Alluding to THAT'S what i was, alluding
to is that at the, trade Deadline because dallas, can
say you, know what we don't really we Don't with,
cooper flag we don't really need TO. Have pj but
that's a guy at by the trade Deadline of dallas, figures,
out hey we're not in this like we thought we would.

Speaker 15 (01:45:48):
Be because ad needs another surgery FOR like.

Speaker 5 (01:45:53):
I need.

Speaker 3 (01:45:55):
Remember at the beginning of they think You're, on ad
what were they?

Speaker 8 (01:46:00):
Thinking of it wouldn't just it wouldn't have been that
bad of a move if he hadn't have got, hurt
though because that the way that front court, was, constructed
defensively nobody they would have had trouble in, the playoffs
like a lot of teams would have had trouble in.

Speaker 3 (01:46:11):
The playoffs who.

Speaker 15 (01:46:13):
Gets hurt More But.

Speaker 2 (01:46:15):
Anthony davis It's Fair anthony Davis Or, zion williamson who
gets hurt more.

Speaker 5 (01:46:23):
About for the top ROAD that ad gets as hurt
as much as Em beating zion is not through.

Speaker 2 (01:46:32):
It's every year you can make one of those little
with body parts of every of EVERYTHING that a d
is hurt in, his career and it's always something he's
gonna play through this. Every year It's something.

Speaker 3 (01:46:48):
I'm sorry you pick More Than zion zion, to me
specially the games. This career what are you guys?

Speaker 5 (01:46:53):
Talking about he doesn't. PLAY games ad is going to
The freaking Hall of fame when. He retires, He, is
yeah he.

Speaker 2 (01:47:01):
Is.

Speaker 4 (01:47:03):
EVERY season i think that that narrative doesn't matter if
we're telling. His, career yes there are things to like
ABOUT a d but at this stage in, HIS career
i don't feel comfortable with either one of those guys on,
the squad especially with how much you're. Gonna command AND
do I Expect anthony davis to be injured before the?
Trade DEADLINE do i expect it to be an injury
that makes him have, to, think huh do we have

(01:47:24):
to go in ahead and do? SOMETHING different. I do
i don't expect him to be some pivotal figure for
The Freaking. DALLAS mavericks i remember last year, him going,
Oh yeah, i'm here and then that. Was it he
was just ant like just that and that.

Speaker 3 (01:47:39):
Was it and THAT'S what i expect out of him.

Speaker 2 (01:47:40):
GOING forward i am going to go to every it's
a detached it's a detached redland now.

Speaker 15 (01:47:47):
From yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:47:50):
THROUGH and i played, through it, through.

Speaker 15 (01:47:54):
It but it's an injury every.

Speaker 4 (01:47:57):
Single year for that going you gotta beds well.

Speaker 5 (01:48:02):
IT is i am going to Be At Anthony davis's
Hall of. Fame induction that's.

Speaker 3 (01:48:06):
My guy that's. My guy nobody said he's Not a
Hall of.

Speaker 5 (01:48:10):
Fame player but after about, absolutely champion, you know twenty
twenty With, the lakers, you know play, that play played
seventy five games or more three times in. His career
I'm sure zion's.

Speaker 3 (01:48:22):
Done that he won out on it was like on
the road and he. Went home the bubble doesn't, Count
now i'm not on. That train does? Bubble counts i'm Sure.

Speaker 5 (01:48:33):
If dame lillard and any other team would have, won
it it would have. Been fine because It was lebron
and ad people ate. On it, that's fine, That's fine no.

Speaker 2 (01:48:41):
Ads cool i'm just saying which one of them is?
Hurt more, is like you can make up a press
release With An anthony davis injury because you know it's,
his Injuries and i'll give him credit. For that zion
is just he gets injured and he's out for ten
games every. Single Time so i'm not saying that that

(01:49:01):
one is more than. The other i'm just saying a
d is, Offt injured.

Speaker 3 (01:49:05):
Zion out with right most Of the zion she, came from,
Wait Man but i'm, just saying but. HATING habits i
didn't think we was gonna get caught up on just,
that question but we'll get to. More often he.

Speaker 5 (01:49:18):
Gave the, Flannel party what did you think was? Gonna,
happen yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:49:21):
That's true he gonna defend his boy at. All times,
but uh the next.

Speaker 5 (01:49:29):
Him to the, Party too and.

Speaker 8 (01:49:32):
It's so easy to. Irritate flannel we don't know day
to day with my. Irritate flannel.

Speaker 3 (01:49:38):
So he looked at, the, bottom Like, oh god.

Speaker 16 (01:49:48):
You before you go into the, NEXT question i just
wanted to add.

Speaker 3 (01:49:50):
My input oh? What up TALK.

Speaker 16 (01:49:55):
To. PJ washington i feel like at twenty six he'd
fit well with veterans Like bias harris and then also
younger investments and then also Like the pistons need uh
power forward and getting some power forward.

Speaker 5 (01:50:08):
Is great.

Speaker 4 (01:50:11):
Hailey Dropping facts ny in, the building he's uh learning The,
SOL hey I See terry foster walking in here with
a mean lip and and and some.

Speaker 3 (01:50:22):
PACES wanting i don't know. What happened building was.

Speaker 8 (01:50:27):
Going on give me the, THIRD question, a quick, young man,
young man how you doing getting?

Speaker 3 (01:50:33):
Him now, I'M sorry i mean you. Get chair, i'm
no but we got.

Speaker 8 (01:50:40):
Next Question jalen during and A sar thompson will prove.
Lankedin right they will step towards stardom This season.

Speaker 4 (01:50:48):
Swiss orbit he continued to talk about what these young
guys have to be next year and that these guys
are in the, gym working that this is what the
success is gonna be built. On it he says that
they will be better because these young guys are going to.
Be better we'll start With You Flannel sam and it's.
A pair it's, a pair it's not or it's A
Pair jayden Duran And asar thompson, brick oh why oh.

Speaker 5 (01:51:13):
The pairing here's, What here HERE'S what i think they
will do. THIS season I Think asar thompson's will get more.
OFFENSIVE usage i also think that he will be in
the conversation for ALL Defense Nba, first TEAM and I
Think jalen duran will average about fourteen. AND eleven i
Don't Think jayalen duran's, A star. Sue me. He's fine
he's a. GOOD player i think he'll continue, to develop but.

(01:51:35):
PEOPLE disagree I Think asar thompson has more star Potential.
THAN duran i Don't think duran has, star potential not
that get him off the team, or ANYTHING but i
Don't think duran has. Star potential.

Speaker 16 (01:51:46):
What?

Speaker 3 (01:51:46):
Say you.

Speaker 17 (01:51:49):
What the fuck did?

Speaker 16 (01:51:49):
You?

Speaker 18 (01:51:50):
Say god damn you excuse, my, language Sorry miss beer
and sorry, In, turn haley it's. My LANGUAGE but i
called it Switch because jayleen dr. Has started he. Has
started he got a traditional big man or he. Could double,
he's athletic he could. Grab rebounds he.

Speaker 17 (01:52:10):
If his office, got better he going. To start he
could Probably His all star.

Speaker 4 (01:52:14):
Next year We saw, drummonds step we saw him GET,
all nba we saw him Becoming An.

Speaker 3 (01:52:18):
All, star yeah.

Speaker 18 (01:52:21):
Why Not, jalen durham he. Deserved it And, Sorry tarson
yes he could be a utility he could be. MORE
office i think it would be a good chance, for
him both, of them to both of them going to.
Start HIM but I Think Jayleen jayleen durnam will be
the first one.

Speaker 3 (01:52:37):
They Saw, tars wi you got jailing ding ahead of, a,
star YEAH.

Speaker 18 (01:52:40):
Because i don't think is. A, Switch yeah tar is
A Switch army Knight But skottie, pippen type but more
muscle and. More athletic if he got, offices together.

Speaker 5 (01:52:55):
Had.

Speaker 3 (01:52:55):
A HEAD.

Speaker 17 (01:53:00):
So i help you out, with, THAT.

Speaker 25 (01:53:05):
Alright, jb, yeah right movie, right along pair During and
azar they're gonna prove length, and right they're gonna start
stepping towards stardom.

Speaker 3 (01:53:15):
Next season give me.

Speaker 11 (01:53:18):
Switch on did no one see him doing?

Speaker 3 (01:53:21):
The threes? Come?

Speaker 11 (01:53:22):
On now the man's opening up his game. RIGHT now
i definitely think both of these two take a huge,
step forward at least in. MY opinion. I don't i
don't know what or anyone else is thinking, right NOW
but i at least got him taking a huge. Step
forward so give me switch on.

Speaker 3 (01:53:36):
THIS one i can, be, hopeful right you can, be.

Speaker 8 (01:53:38):
HOPEFUL Ok g, All RIGHT so i think this is
a slight brick because it's it's hard, to, say.

Speaker 3 (01:53:46):
Hey call me what. You will i've been calling a
lot of Things and i'm.

Speaker 8 (01:53:49):
Still here so, but HEY but i think slightly because
it's hard to say that two players will take that
step in the. START them i think that's, just asking,
you know just a. Bit much if they, both do,
THAT'S great i, would say just based on the nature of.
THE position i do Agree with willie Be That jalen
during could be that next one that can that can,

(01:54:10):
you know elevate to that level because all you gotta
do is just keep, being aggressive keep attacking, the rim
get as many rebounds as. You can you, look up
he's twelve and fourteen on. The year he can probably
Make An all star. RESERVE spot i can. See that
But With, sarr thompson he's still kind of. LIMITED offensively
i would love for him to get a. Jump shot

(01:54:31):
it may take a little longer for him to develop a,
jump shot and THAT'S why i Would say during more than,
a sorry but they definitely both have the potential to
do so it's just a lot to ask in.

Speaker 4 (01:54:41):
One season man to chat lit up with This One Denver,
Blair swiss i'm gonna just read some of these, SWITCHES
here i see you in, The.

Speaker 3 (01:54:48):
Chat dixie i'm not gonna say your last name on.
This one dixie Put. A swiss, good, Look yeah i'm.

Speaker 4 (01:54:54):
Not reading that Name At Denver, Blair swish donte one
five to one all Caps, Major Swiss Jay. Hart swiss
but We got charles McClain With, the brick and we
got a couple people who don't quite. See it charles
McClain says, a, Sorry yes, Duran no and that seems
to BE when i see there being a no and then,

(01:55:15):
PUTTING somebody i see there being a lot more SUPPORT
for Usar than duran if one of these players are
going to step. Towards It but rod, the pair are
they stepping Towards stardom Swiss, or brick.

Speaker 15 (01:55:27):
NOT both I think asar is gonna take some steps to,
get THERE.

Speaker 2 (01:55:33):
And I think duran is right on the cusp. Of
that but it's gonna be hard because there's gonna be
so much more space FOR uh J and ivy to
step into that role that it's gonna be hard for
two guys to do it in the, same year much
less three Along.

Speaker 8 (01:55:49):
With ivy, hold on hold On what rod agrees with
Me On Jalen duran what what look?

Speaker 3 (01:55:55):
At you, you, know man you don't Went. TO atlanta.

Speaker 2 (01:56:00):
I haven't had to do anything.

Speaker 3 (01:56:04):
During just he's just stepped into the number two all of. A.

Speaker 4 (01:56:07):
Sudden, huh well last year he was the, number two not,
this year but last year he was the. Number, two effectively.

Speaker 5 (01:56:12):
Here's, the question Is It jalen Howard Or?

Speaker 3 (01:56:14):
Dwight dura here, We go here, we. Go man but
the learning curve for him is.

Speaker 8 (01:56:19):
Only slight like if he can develop a hook shot
or some kind of, you know mid, range jumper that would.

Speaker 3 (01:56:24):
Be great but all he has to do is keep
playing the way that he played.

Speaker 4 (01:56:27):
Last year find a way to to mentally turn this.
Into reality you are bigger, than. Everybody, stronger yes it's.

Speaker 3 (01:56:36):
His paint and we see.

Speaker 4 (01:56:37):
When he goes to those stretches where he's playing, like
that that's when you saw. Walking strutting we, Hear it jalen,
turns here we hear him stretting down the all you't
gotta tell us being ready put on our recorders for
the press conference after, the game and he stepped, up,
like yo, yeah man this Is how i'm gonna be
playing now Because earlier i'll be through. WITH y'all i
was on some soft stuff and it was interesting to

(01:56:58):
kind of hear that this was so something that, the
team from coaches, to players are effectively telling, Each, other
hey you gonna have to.

Speaker 3 (01:57:05):
Step up this ain't. Good ENOUGH and i absolutely love
that about the fact that this. Team responded what did
we hear from? Other guys what do we hear From The? Cleveland? CAVALIERS.

Speaker 2 (01:57:14):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:57:14):
Jb bickerstaff is he just killed, our momentum had just killed?

Speaker 3 (01:57:19):
Our, Morale right he's too hard of, a coach not a.

Speaker 4 (01:57:21):
PLAYER'S coach i continue to, tell people when you look
at what's going on there behind, THE scenes i think
that there's those guys aren't necessarily put together the way
to respond to a GUY. LIKE. J, b bickerstaff who's
gonna hold, You accountable who's gonna walk in and, TELL
you i don't care if you're this star or, that
star what you have to do to be able to
fit into. His system and THAT'S what i want out of,
a coach to be able to.

Speaker 3 (01:57:40):
Do that and you know what these.

Speaker 4 (01:57:41):
Guys did they, stepped up, they performed they. GOT better
i absolutely love that about the team because you Know.
WHAT rod i feel like if a player Like ty
jerome was able to take that type of criticism rather
than running his MOUTH.

Speaker 3 (01:57:53):
About, JB bickerstaff i feel like he would have been
a piston. This, offseason bro what Did ty jrome do
that didn't? FIT he i feel like he would because
remember the rumors came.

Speaker 4 (01:58:02):
Out early, i'm like there's no way when rumors, come
out it's an agent or somebody associated with, the team.

Speaker 3 (01:58:09):
The team WHY. WOULD. J B bricker staff? Leak that
so it was A. Sick ti you, Played, Yourself bro you, played.
Yourself MAN but i love the FACT.

Speaker 16 (01:58:16):
THAT.

Speaker 4 (01:58:17):
J b brickerstaff has been able to go out there
and from an aspect, of development be able to present
responsibilities to these people and say you gotta take the,
next step and these players are wanting to.

Speaker 2 (01:58:26):
DO that.

Speaker 3 (01:58:28):
I wanted to see, In, turn hendy did you have
any any? Last WORDS before i get last Words From?

Speaker 16 (01:58:32):
Rod beard For, sar thompson the defense. Is there he
just needs to add a shot and then he'll be.
PRETTY unstoppable I Love jalen DURHAM like i love. Watching
him he's great in. The, paint yeah his dunks, are
INSANE but I think i would favor a Star.

Speaker 3 (01:58:48):
Over, durham okay got some More.

Speaker 4 (01:58:52):
Sar love it's gonna be interesting to see how this
thing plays Out because trajan is really believing in these.

Speaker 3 (01:58:57):
Young Guys But rod beard your.

Speaker 11 (01:58:59):
Last word we're getting some Static on rods AND so
i don't know if we'll be able to, hear.
