coming because when I take them to the simulcast, I
never have to pay for a beer.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Oh wow.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
There's other reasons I like this better, but I think
that's one of them.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Good and Christmas was good.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
Yeah, it's good. New Year's is good. And John's doing great.
Everybody's everybody's scam. It's really good.
Speaker 1 (09:01):

Speaker 4 (09:23):

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Talking about his dog.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
Well he likes the animals, that's the important thing.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
So let's house everybody at old friends and I know
he's silver charm is now his third bred. Age is
thirty three thirty three. There's a thirty two two I
think thirty terrible thirty two thirty two Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
I've read that. It was on wherever you put your face,
your page. I always check on your page.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Good.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
Yeah, what's doing a great job.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah, it's really nice.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
Yeah. He takes good pictures too. She's yeah, it's a
great team. Johns put together a fabulous team.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Yeah, and a lot of them there before John game.
What's that? A lot of them were there before John.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Well, he's coming.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
Somebody always got him getting along.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Yeah, that's great.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
Well, but anyway, it's going good, good, that's great. Yeah,
we're all excited.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Next big event.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
I don't know when it warms up. Well, we have
our huge event, you know, the day after the Derby. Yeah,
that's that's always a lot of fun. We have a
lot of great auction items this year. And you know,
you know Sally Steinman who makes these wonderful Derby hats
for us, it's starting to back up again. And she
(10:52):
just they just released the first pictures of the first one.
It's a Cosmic One hat. He's the first baby out
in their colors, of course, in the Moss colors. And
and Hope who owns Zenata now comes in and owns
Cosmic One.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
She uh, she loves the hat.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Now that was on the web page too, now that
I think about it, Yes, it was like the opening
here it comes the hat thing.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
She does an amazing job. Yeah, I mean, if you
will know, I'm not into really into hats, because you know,
my head is not a great advertisement for any form
of hat. Well it covers, it covers. Yeah, good thing
lurid covers.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
The better the hat.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Do you know? I think one time, years ago, one
of the things you advertised was somebody coming on and
doing this show with us.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
Yes you remember that, yes?
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Maybe?
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Yes, David Molles bought it.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
I hope.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
I don't care what they say about you. I think
your mind's spot.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Uh, there you go. And but the thing of it.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
I don't remember this.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
So yeah, and your nest.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
We decided we'd play Irish music, so in the breaks
we play Irish music. After they played one, David said,
oh my god. They played the something something Something. It
must have been terrible. It's probably, you know, a revolutionary
song for.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
The Oh yeah, all right, but it was just probably was.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Yeah, and they you know I got is.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
That the reason we stopped optioning it off? We should
do it again? They would Brown. You know what's great
about this Big Brown cap? Okay, so this cap was
when Big Balance had three chimneys many eons ago, yeah,
before he went to New York. And uh and as
(12:59):
everyone knows, Big Brown has a white spot out of him,
just a white spot. Oh, and that's the white spot
on the hat.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Oh, I thought you got don't my opinion or something
that's pretty interesting.
Speaker 4 (13:11):
No, but that's.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
That's big head by white spot on shoulder, on his shoulder. Okay,
I remember.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
That all sat on your side near let me see think.
But I can't remember. I can't remember.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
I remember David Mullen's coming and making fun of me
from freaking a stupid song.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
It's a lot of good Irish song. Our listeners would
like to, you know, make some requests. And he turned
pursenal into Irish DJ that.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Have another career.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
I've had a lot already. Maybe he needs another one,
you know, keeping going, yeah, there you go, keep him
coming up, ready to go.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
I don't have a lot of hours in me. I think,
I just mungle.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
I don't know. I got the no one's and then
she hands I get every whatevers and whatever.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
So I have a I have a.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
I have a I have a loser of the week.
I'm working on it, you know, oh you are, Yeah,
I have a loser of the week where at Gulf Stream? Okay, okay,
and it's in uh let's see, is this stake of
course not. I can't handicap good horses or so what's
(14:33):
the matter with you. I'm don't you know that by now,
the better the race, the worst I'm at at the
worse the race. Now you're talking. Yeah, they give me
those five thousand dollars non winners blaming races for non
winners of three lifetime and I'm I'm on.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
My One time I was watching Johnny Carson and he
told this joke about the guy standing at the race
track watching him walk around getting saddled it and stuff.
And it's one horse that go by and wink at him,
and he look. The horse went by again and winked
at him, and he did it.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
A third time.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
He touched blue. It's a month speed, the big deal.
So he went and bought spent all his money and
bought all. The horse ran last the stand there, horse
came back and went there.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
There was a lot of great racing jokes and a
lot of great racing stories.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
One of my favorite racing jokes is about the guy
that was a handicap and he went to his long
losing streak just couldn't couldn't win, couldn't win, And he
finally resolved that he wasn't going to go back to
the track until they one horse and one race would
meet all fifteen of his criteria for a winning horse. Yeah,
(15:56):
fifteen criteria.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
You know.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
Gas is the last race he had the breeding, he
had everything all listened up for the fifteen reasons why
you should bet a horse, and he and so the
month goes by, two months ago. Why he's checking every day,
checking every day, and sometimes there's like twelve out of fifteen,
but no, not. A year and a half goes by,
and he finally finds the horse.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
And he looks there and he said, it's the sixth
horse in the third race at Belmont.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
So he decides he doesn't want to be tempted to
bet a lot of money early or lose anything, so
he waits until the last minute to show up, gets
the line, got all his money there to bet the bet.
The six horse, walks up to the clerk and he says,
I'd like to bet this on number six, And the
clerk goes the six and he goes, oh, make it
(16:45):
the five. I just think, oh my god, I think
I think that gets to the psychology of the worst player.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
You guy gotta go get something.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Oh that's funny.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Red Smith's Smith rude.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
Oh yeah, yeah, okay, good, we're finally going to get
something interesting done around here. This what's gone to call
oh Red. He's coming out of the grave right now
to come back just because he wants to entertaina This
is this is great, but I'll give you my loser. Well,
the winner is gone to get the smith.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
I'm gonna do this, write it down.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Okay, there you go.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
Okay, fall Stream Park. It's the eighth race. It's an
optional claimer. Non winners are one other than four year
olds and up which have never won twenty thousand dollars once,
other than maiden claiming, starter or restrictive, or which have
never won two races.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Good.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
I know it's a little complicated. It is a little
I know. They're right. You've got to figure out who
fits these conditions. You can littlemit it. Half the field
exactly usually. But the horse that I really like here
is is owned and trained by Rohan Crichton. Uh and
who Rohan Crichton? I know, nobody's ever heard of him.
(18:08):
That's why his horses tend to one. It's number two,
a horse named Junction Road. Okay, all right, and he's
being ridden by Micah Husbands.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Who Who's who?
Speaker 4 (18:23):
You know, not many people have followed him yet, but
he's he's really good jockey. And the last time he
ran into all kinds of trouble. I actually went back
and watched this right really on the you know it's
a red mile where you can press the button.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Let's haven't you do?
Speaker 4 (18:39):
That's enough red mile. And the last time this horse
rode Randy ran it was an eleven horse field. He
broke from the eleven hole, you know, going going a mile,
which is you know that you can't kill her? Yeah,
you can't even imagine that. He got off slowly, but
(19:03):
he closed crazy and that closed crazy and he ended
up finishing third, and he only lost by a length
and a half. And he's ten to one on the
morning line, and I think he'll he should be able
to be able to finish in the money and make
the payoff for the the Trifector or the Exacta or
the superfector.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Oh pretty good.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Now, how you do this? You bet him with another horse?
Speaker 4 (19:27):
Oh yeah, I only kicked losers, I told you. Yeah,
I put him on top. When they win, it drives
me nuts because he went in a huge price sometimes
and I don't have him to win, but I do
have him to lose, so and I make money losing.
I proved that my whole career, no matter what career
(19:47):
I was in, I made money losing.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
And it's got a lot. Yeah you want to hear
the Yeah, I'll read it real quick. It's not too long.
At the Derby Walter Height, a well fed horseharser from
Washington told it this way. There's this horse player and
that can't win a bet. He's got patches in his
pants from the way even odds on favorites run up
(20:11):
the alley and he's backing lamb and the slump goes
on until he's utterly desperate. He's ready to listen to
any advice. One a friend tells him, no, wonder, you
don't have any love. You don't live right. Nobody could
do it anyway good the way you live, Why you
don't even go to church? Why don't you get yourself
straightened out and try to be a decent citizen and
(20:33):
just see if things don't get a lot better for
you now. The guy had never exactly liked to bother
heaven with his troubles, isn't even sure whether they have
horse racing up there, and would understand his difficulties, but
he's reached the state where he's simply has to be
taken till. The next day, being Sunday, he goes to
(20:56):
church and insists attentively to the whole service and George
in hymn singing and says Amen at the proper timers,
and puts his buck on the collection page. All that
night he lies awake waiting for a sign that things
are going to get better. Nothing happens. Next day he
gets up and goes to the track, but this time
(21:16):
he doesn't buy a racing form of scratch sheet, Jack's
Green Carter or anything, just gets the program and sits
in the stands, studying the field for the first race
and waiting for a sign. None comes, so he passes
up the race. He waits for the second race and
concentrates on the names of the horses for that, and
again there's no inspiration, so again he doesn't bet. Then
(21:40):
when he's looking them over for the third something seems
to tell him to bet on a horse name number four. Lord,
I'll do it, he says, and he goes down and
puts the last fifty dollars he's ever been able to
borrow or number four to win. Then he goes back
to the seat and waits until the horses come on
to the track. Number four is a little fractius in
(22:02):
the parade, and the guy says, Lord, quiet him down
a little bit, don't let him get himself hurt. The
horse settles down immediately walks calmly into the starting game.
Thank you, lord, says the guy. Now, please get him
off clean. Don't have to break on top, but get
him away safe without getting him slammed or anything like that. Please.
(22:23):
The gate opens and number four is off well, close
up in fifth place and saving ground. Going to the
first term. There, he begins to move up a trifle
on the rail, and for an instant it looks like
he might begin close quarters. Lord, please let him through,
the guy says, please make them horses open up a
(22:43):
little farm. The horse that he moves out just enough
to let number four through safely. Thank you, lord, says
the guy. But let's not have no more of trouble
like that. As that boy take him outside. Cheering up
as they go down the back stretch, duckets steer number
four outside or he's laying forth. They're going into the
(23:04):
far term. When the guy gets agitated. Don't let that
boy use up the horse, he says, don't let that
kid get panicky. Lord, tell him to rate the horse above.
The rider reaches down and takes a couple of reps
on the horse and keeps him running kind just cooking
on the outside or on the turn, wheeling into the stretch.
Number four is still on four, leaning forth. Well, Lord,
(23:29):
says the guy. Now we move, Tell that kid to
go to the stick. The boy. The boys outs with
his bat and as Ted Atkinson says, he really scrounds
as a horse. Number four lays his ears back and
gets to running. He's up to third. He closes the
gap ahead, and now he's left on the second horse,
and now he's at his throat lets and now he's
(23:50):
past him. He's moving on the leader, and everything behind
him is looking cooked. He closes ground stride by stride,
with the boy working for him all his work, and
the kid is up front putting his horse to a drive.
Please Lord, the guy says, let him get out in front.
Give him one call on top end and anyway, Number
four keeps coming at the eighth fool. He's got the
(24:12):
leader of colin. He's fasting he's got to lead to
two links. Thank you Lord. The guy says, I'll take
you from here. Come on, you son of a bitch.
There you go.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
Red Smith knew what he was talking about and shave
him Walter head.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
That's fun.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Yeah, that's the best thing he ever wrote. He's Red Smith.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
It's just unbeliever.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Did he write for do you remember?
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (24:38):
He wrote for the New York Times.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
That's what I thought.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
He and Palm over buddies.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you don't get a double You don't
get it, you know, not since the firms and alleys
are do we get anything like rich right?
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Well, Paul, it's the one I think that put together
all those good columns of Joe Palmer.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
Yeah, that's great.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
They were really close friends. He wrote and I lost it.
He wrote a beautiful old bit morning after on Joe. Yeah,
you know, morning after the Joe had died that at
home at night, you know, in front of a column.
We was writing a column and died. Oh yeah, he
(25:24):
was forty eight.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Way too soon.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
Boys. Now it's all on the internet. But now it's
all on the internet, you missad. Writers like red Smith
really hung around and just a lout of money. And
it wasn't just about the wins and the losses. It
was about all the characters.
Speaker 1 (25:42):
Yes, and that was so.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
Many writers in the you know, in the thirties and
the forties, that's the nineteen thirties and nineteen forties were
just to remind you.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
I think he ignored that.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
Who you know made movies and he wrote novel.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Yes, it was. That was such a big part of it. Yeah,
it just it really was. It's it's uh. I think
they missed a great opportunity to have somebody on like
TBG fan Duel and that kind of stuff, somebody that's
a personality.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
That can you know you had he had Ursul, you
had Harvey pat Rehearsal by the way. Uh, he had
Harvey Pack. You know, Harvey Pack had that great show,
and he had people who would sit around and tell
you stories.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
I remember when we first moved to Kentucky, I got
to be friendly with Mac Miller. I was really fortunate
to have him for friends. And Macmiller was the great
guy who was there's a wonderful book about his life
that Joe Fisher wrote to doctor Fisher's wife Midway.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Is that right with Mac?
Speaker 4 (26:51):
And about every six weeks. I would go over and
have lunch with Mac at his house and Mark Pack
and Martha, and we watched the basketball game or a
football game wherever he was watching, and he tell me
stories and it was just the greatest. Yeah, he was
on the show.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Yeah, we had him on the show. Yeah he was.
He was a book didn't he wrote a book of
somebody wrote a book about him?
Speaker 4 (27:14):
Yeah, aren't you listening to your own show?
Speaker 2 (27:16):
I just said that, Oh okay, but I'm not listening
to you guys.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Yeah, well they're No, you've got a point that you've
got a point to make there. I don't blame you, really,
but I'm going to go now and I'm going to
go home because there might be one or two people
there that want to hear to want to hear me talk.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Make you want to see if I can break.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
If I can get over fifty percent, I'll be happy,
like Base. Don't get over fifty percent.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Now, they're going to the Red Mile with you today.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
No, they're going on a hike in the Red River Gorse.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
They're going on ike and they're missing the Red Gee.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
Yeah, I don't think. I don't think done. Or for
his wife's disappointed, but I'll make it a little disappointment.
Plants on that line.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
Well that's interesting. So that that's some places.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
Man, Yeah, not much.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
You can do in the winner around here.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
Here it's a little it's a little tough, but they
enjoy each other's company. It's really nice to say.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Yeah, oh good, that's excellent.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
Well, well, Ursa's getting ready for his ads. You're doing
his warm up? Bat Yeah, I'm got I've got doing
his You know, I'm really one of these things I
really like is before ever he add in order to
get get the enthusiasm up and make sure that he
does it right. Does three jumping? Jackson's here you some fabulous.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Thing to see?
Speaker 4 (28:34):
All right, all right, my friend, all right, Ursel's thanks
for stuffing?
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Oh jack who wants to show you something? Okay, you've
got to you gotta see this. This is unique. Well,
Bright's Future at Cleven Farm is a Grade one winner
about curling out of a steak's winning mayor that has
produced three great Steaks winners from three flows to race.
That should be enough right there to make you sit
up and take notice. Right. Future won the Grade one
(29:01):
Jockey Club Gold Cup. The Grade three Salvatrol mile Bus
Impress has scores at seratosin goes for him and earned
nine hundred and forty seven thousand, nine hundred and forty dollars.
He was a runner a typical curve curling is a
Cyriscires good magic by curling two Classic winners in his

nurses go see him. You're gonna like what to see. Now.
Take a look at the two new stallions in mind Frame,
a Grade one stakes winner of over two million dollars,
and Johannah, a Grade one stakes winner of nearly a million,
(30:07):
three hundred thousand. Just give Jacob West a call A
five nine nine eight seven two three three old and
the website is clabronefarm dot com. Alrighty well, I'm going
to talk a little bit about the Claveward Agency and
an Indian Creek. Uh there's a sale coming up for
January sale out of Kielan. I've got to pick up
(30:29):
a catalog. I should have done it already, but I
have it. And anyway, UH glants through the entry things
like that. And I saw Shack yesterday, shack in in
uh Shack Parish, and we talked to him just stop
(30:50):
room and we were over at Lil having lunch and
if you've got a really he says, a really nice
consignment coming up. But I'm sure I had glanced that
this is the bare entriest of what's in the Indian
Creek consignment, and it looked like it's got some new
(31:11):
yearlands irelands this year this turn. We'll call them short
yearlings anyway, in their consignment. So we'll be talking a
little bit about that on next week's show. And anyway,
I would recommend that you take a look at anything
that they have for sale over there by the Indian Creek,
(31:33):
because they've raised and boarded and sold many of the
world's find a stub bridge down through the years. And
of course they are closely affiliated with the cleave Ward
Agency which began It was founded back in nineteen thirty
one by mister James clay Ward and he was very
successful even though they started that right during the depression,
(31:57):
because it gave great service and they're not a to
the horse business and those qualities that's still carried on
today over there by Shack and by Bruce Isaacs great
organization and they're closely related by their way. Actually they
want one and the same and uh so give give
(32:17):
them a call over there if you want to ensure
something into ninety eight five, nine, nine, eight, seven, eighteen
sixty one office right there on Main Street in Paris,
and it's they do a great job. So keep in
mind that Indian Increase is going to have a nice
consignment that January sail, and that you can ensure any
(32:38):
of them at you buy or anything that you buy
period at the fall of the hammer right with the
Cleaveward Agents.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
And then you walk over to the Sally Van thing
and they take them home for you.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Okay, that's how that works.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Wonderful.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
They may charge they fought. They haul everything free for
old friends. Yes, they even hold two from here.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
I know, was not nice that they.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Sent him, remember that we just had two old guildings
to move over there from here to old Friends because
I finally figured it out and anybody that walked with
the canes shouldn't be fooling with horses. And anyway, they
took they took him over there.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
Oh I know, it's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen. Yeah,
all their equipment's beautiful, but that was just really gorgeous.
Speaker 4 (33:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Well, anyway, if you want to get in touch with
shaq Uh, here's the phone number, it's eight five nine
nine eight seven seven four four three. Are go to
the go to their website, which was indian Crete dot
com indian Creek dot com.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
I'm while I was here.
Speaker 5 (33:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Can we say something about Brian Boone?
Speaker 2 (33:58):
Yeah? Yeah, And Boone was.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Such a nice guy and a terrific vet. He passed away.
Oh gosh, he had Alzheimer's and he died. He was
just sixty three. What a shame. Everybody was crazy about him.
He was at Haggard's and he was in Repo.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
He did.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
I think he did Stone Farm for one, because the
author said he cared so much for the farm and
for us personally. He just was a wonderful guy, wonderful
vet at three, nice kids, honest, hard working everything. I've
(34:41):
seen people have put up tributes and stuff to him
on the internet, and just a super guy. And we
just want to express our condolences to the family because
Craig I knew the family. Well, yeah, and your sister
(35:01):
in law used to get a horse as far as
and yeah, and her son died not whats some months ago. Yeah,
and that's just it's just tragic.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
So Craig and Lewis were their parents.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Yeah, Lois Lewis. Yeah. So anyway, visitations Monday, uh four
to seven at First United Methodist Church in like Sington.
That's families. That's just terrible that happened, one on top.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
Of the other. They used to have. I wonder what
they ever did with the farm over there.
Speaker 4 (35:42):
I think Craig runs as a new town I think.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
So Lewis had a sign at the she had a
picket kind of a picket fence around a house, you know. Yeah,
she had a little sign out there and when they
opened the door or open the between the door gate
to walk up to the house, I said, I said,
(36:08):
we've got a vicious dog in here that can get
to the front gate in two point five seconds.
Speaker 5 (36:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
So well, we wanted to mention that because an Anne
is a good friend.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Yeah, she was real good on a horse.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
Oh yeah, she's she's super now she's a masseuse.
Speaker 5 (36:28):
Yeah, make you feel better.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
She was whatever.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Anyway, Anyway, we wanted to mention it because everybody that
had anything to do with him and miss him.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
Okay, let me catch up here, Okay, always get behind.
The last Sunday, sata Nea, a Grade one three hundred
time out of the La Brasteakes, was run by Ushah
the three old folks in the first got by tears
of the Law. Usha a six hundred tund dollar graduated
of Old vs. April Sail won a Grade one library
by widening five hundred quarter lengths, been in the money
(37:02):
in seven of our eight stars, and she is one
of nine twenty twenty five stakes winners twenty stakes horses.
Five graded steak sources by Tis the Law, who has
climbed the number two on the second crop sarlist tiss
the Law stands over to ashtradst these forty thousand dollars
live Old, the only sour ranked above him, stand for
(37:24):
one hundred thousand dollars, and the third rank SAR for
seventy five thousand. Other stakes winners from his first cop
include t Tastic, the Grade two stakes winner of a million,
five hundred and ninety seven thousand, two hundred and eleven
dollars fully subscribed, winner of the Grade two Mother Goose
and Grade three Comely Skithion, a Grade two winner nine Compliant,
(37:45):
another Grade two winner, Grade three winner tit Is Dashing,
Grade three winner Dixie Law twelve stakes winners all the
major tracks. Tis the Law won the Grade one Champagne
Stakes to two, the Grade one Belmont Stakes, the Grade
one Travis, the Grade one for the Derby, and the
Grade three Holy Bullet three went second in the Derby.
You're in two million, seven hundred and thirty five thousand,
(38:07):
three hundred dollars. He's about constitution for one hundred and
ten thousand. He's out of a Grade two stakes winner.
But Tis now America's horse from more on the Sands
at ash Ford stood called the farm A five ninety seven,
three seventy eighty eight and the website is coolmore dot com.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Okay, can I see that paper a minute? I think, uh.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
Usha usha Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Yeah, that's an odd name. I just kind of wondered where.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
I said the penounced yusha.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
Always that right?
Speaker 5 (38:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (38:41):
Okay, interesting which I did?
Speaker 2 (38:44):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (38:44):
You did?
Speaker 5 (38:45):
Okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Quilla and leather and tac over here in Bourbon County.
What a great I gotta get over there. I could
not get her so his Christmas present because I failed
before Christmas and broke a rib. So Quillan has ursa
wants an address book is falling apart, and they have
(39:14):
all kinds of things like that over at Quillan's clipboard
and appointment cover and just all kind of leather things
that you I guess what you do, And they have
legal pads and you buy the stuffing it. Maybe you
(39:37):
go over and they pick something, uh to cover it.
It's a beautiful idea. They have all kinds of stuff.
They have passport covers and if you name it, and
now there's one more sale coming up. They sell everything
(39:58):
you need for sales, the halters and bits and you
name it. You got it. But the big thing that's
coming up in that swallhoh, it's the new year and
anything that's on the ground is a new year fold.
You can get that thing out of the back and
bring them on up and that's a choke. But it's
(40:22):
breeding season coming up. What time is Shed's open on
February fifteenth, so that horses carry folds for eleven months
and you don't want anything to come before the new year.
So that's that's the point. I love breeding season around here.
I love the new folds. That's I really miss the folds.
(40:46):
I like to fiddle with them there.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
They're so sweet, most of them.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
So anyway they've got you name it for mayors. Oh,
I'll tell you what else is coming in boarding mayors.
And when something comes into board, they may have a
halter without a nameplate or something. So you need to
buy a next strap with that mayor's name on it
so you don't get her confused with some of your
(41:15):
other boarding horses. Some come in that have folded when
they were home wherever that was, and some come in
ready to fold, so it's it'll be a Kentucky bread.
So you got to figure out that good stuff out
I was farm secretary with three farms. Yeah, and that's
(41:38):
a whole boy, that's busy. I mean you've got to
check every block and everything, make sure everything is all
lined up when they come in. You don't want to
mess it up. And then you've got these column after
column after colum all the stuff that has to get
(41:59):
downe and if you want a leather uh folder or
something for the for the blacksmith. Yeah, you know, check
that off and over and over and over again. It's
a good job. But it's it's this time it's coming
up and it's.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
Talking about the breeding, the season open. What was the
name of that mayor that we had, the Jimmy Drimon
that hadn't been in he hadn't been able to get
her in fold for five years or something like that. Yeah,
it was silver Setting was her name. And we were
teasing along and teasing her along, you know, and she's
(42:40):
Rachel Pemstein says, breed this mayor and it wasn't now.
Speaker 1 (42:46):
Yeah, the sheds weren't open.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
Yeah, and we called Jimmy was on it.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
He had the island out and down and the yeah
Bahamas or somewhere, and the.
Speaker 2 (42:54):
Bahamas out there and we called him Jimmy, we got it.
We got to breed this mayor. We got three of
them are And he says, I was rereading Stephens and
not open, and Jimmy had was running Domino stood and
either you or me. Well anyway, he says, well open
the damn thing because we're bringing this mare over. Took
(43:16):
her over there and got her.
Speaker 4 (43:17):
In fold got her and folded the wand the old.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
Folks she ever produced, Well, it was the winner.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
Yeah, he Jimmy, she was gonna be his blue hand.
Speaker 2 (43:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
And the first foe she had she slipped or something
and messed up her.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:34):
Inside in Rachel Pemstein by Collie got her in full Yeah, yeah,
silver setting. She was great.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
Rachel was really good at it. Oh she raised another
person she passed away much too soon.
Speaker 4 (43:48):
Yeah, she really she was.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
I don't doubt if she was even forty one she did.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
I think you're right.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
Yeah she was.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
She was super good friend. Yeah, she got some kind
of disease that attacked her muscles.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (44:05):
Well, I mean Jeie was, and you know they were
pretty good about it. Over Haggard's what they would do
is they'd let her go ahead and visit her clients
and stuff and check them out, when to breat them
and stuff. And they sent somebody after her. They sent
event following her to make sure that it was okay.
(44:27):
I was super nice of them do that because that
let her work as long as she could. Good old Rachel.
Speaker 2 (44:36):
All right, time to do a spencer if they had
always enjoyed doing the spencer things. You see where yesterday
Facoma they had stakes on her yesterday. Yeah, in the
Midschifa has tied bullaroos record for having seven years in
(44:58):
a row.
Speaker 1 (44:59):
Amazing.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
Yeah, uh, of course bowl ruler he did go for eight,
but there was a gap between we're talking about consecutive years. Yeah,
and I believe it in the midst of his interposition
to go for eight consecutive years, which would break bowl
(45:22):
rulers record.
Speaker 1 (45:23):
Yeah, isn't that something that's you'd think that would never
be broken?
Speaker 2 (45:27):
Bowl ruler had His eighth winner was in nineteen seventy
three when Secretary won a triple frown that gave him
an eighth time. But then he I think he was
just sixteen when he died that. Oh yeah, he got cancer,
oh my, yeah, and he died.
Speaker 1 (45:51):
But I don't remember him. I remember seeing mister Prospector
when he was pretty old at Playburn. Yeah, but I
don't remember a ruler.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
Uh I saw him. Yeah, he and bowl He and
round Table will fall the same.
Speaker 4 (46:09):
Year, round Table that same day?
Speaker 1 (46:12):
Is that right night they were full that Jimmy Smayer
silver setting was by round Table bus She Yeah, that
was his blue hat and boots.
Speaker 2 (46:24):
Yeah it was gonna be yes, but.
Speaker 1 (46:27):
But you never know what's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
What's talking about, Spencer? If I might well go ahead
and do the commercial, Okay, well get us back on
schedule anyway. And King's Barns Kings Barns a great one
winter of a million, five hundred and fifty nine thousand
and sixty dollars by the Great Uncle Mole out of
the stakes class daughter of the champions sth Tappatt stand

year old eight hundred thousand kings Barnes won his first

Derby one on to win, the Grade one Stephen Falsterod Churchill,
Grade three ben Allied Kingan Runs second, and the Grade

the neck and by three parts of the length in
(47:15):
the Grade three Special Pemic Coast Special Champion. Uncle Mole
Course is side one hundred and fifteen stakes winners, among
them the Kentucky Derby winner Niquist Tamping, the two that
now stands for one hundred and seventy five thousand. The
dam of kings Barnes Lady Tappitt is a half sister
two Grade one winner gossip Girl Terrific Family. The first
(47:38):
folds for kingsbarn are due in twenty twenty six. He
stands for seventeen thousand, five hundred live fold. Do the
first folds, So do the first folds by National Treasure,

super of individually. The National Pressure sold for half a
million dollars in Saratogam. His fee is thirty five thousand
(48:19):
life old fenthrift Steins dominated the sire lest last year
in the midschief top of the North American salast for
seven consecutive years, and the leading freshman sire, leading second

For more information on the farms that does at Spendthrift,
(48:41):
that's the Breeders Farm. Oh, there's a Brian and Mark
and Daniel at eight five nine two nine four zeros.
Will thirty on the website is a theFARM dot Com.
Speaker 1 (48:52):
Okay, now to say a few words about our friend,
He'll Parker. He'll Parker, the guy with what two careers
just happened to blend together.
Speaker 4 (49:03):
He is a.
Speaker 1 (49:06):
Real estate agent. What's interesting, he's a horse farm and
land specialists. You know, there aren't many places in the
world where that's really a good thing, and it's a
good thing here in central Kentucky. He is a full
time realtory. He's a broker. He's a member of all
the Varian associations. Now what this does is that means
(49:31):
he's up on all the zoning regulations the state, the local,
the County. They're all different and they're all complicated, and
he knows all of them. So that's one big protection
for you if you're looking to buy a farm, because
you can't go I should go in there and buy something.
(49:54):
You can't have horses, you know, and that kind of stuff,
so you have to be careful. And the other part
of him that's real fascinating. I think he's a licensed
horse trainer in eleven states. He understands horses. He's got
experienced thoroughbreds, events, jumpers, steeplechasing, fox hunters, you name it.
(50:19):
He's a graduate a pony club and a million dollar
lifetime member and so on. I mean that's what you need.
You need somebody that knows.
Speaker 4 (50:28):
The legal parts, the.
Speaker 1 (50:32):
Real estate part, and especially the horse part, because you
don't want to buy a place and find out it's
not really suited. So he knows the right questions. Are
you gonna breed? Are you gonna board? Are you gonna train?
There's a billion things, and each thing requires different spaces
(50:58):
and facilities and all that kind of stuff. So that's
just you're getting a lot when you get Hill Parker.
Speaker 4 (51:06):
He's just tremendous.
Speaker 2 (51:07):
I tell you The best way to get in touch
with him is is go to his website and it's
a great website, lex horse Farms dot com. That's hill
In Reggan Parker and he'll sale numbers eight five nine
six YU eight eighty thirty nine. The Hill and his
(51:28):
wife are. They're really great at what they do. And
I'll tell you one thing, you won't run across any
nicer people in the world than they are. And they
kind of people who walk that extra mile to help
you out, you know, so really great people. That's hell In,
Reggan Parker and lex Horsefarms dot com.
Speaker 3 (51:52):
Now back to the Thoroughbred Training Center and urso ellis.
Speaker 4 (51:58):
Alrighty, I want to say hi to Betsy.
Speaker 1 (52:01):
All right, Betsy around here doing this. We'll see you
in a bit.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
Well, good hello, Betsy.
Speaker 4 (52:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (52:10):
And the ball did drop.
Speaker 2 (52:12):
The ball did drop. So so let's say they tell
me all right, Well, James Cully is supposed to come
on at the top of the hour for Bloodstock Research
Information Services. Hopefully he can come on always like it
like to hear from James. They're not running. I don't
think they're just running. But one state went grade at
(52:34):
stakes this weekend where Santa Nita, the Lost Floors, the
Grade three Lots Floor Stakes Sunday and.
Speaker 1 (52:45):
Nothing terrif Way.
Speaker 2 (52:47):
Uh yeah, but they're running something at Turfway. They're running
the Turfway Preview Stakes. You must be psychic or something.
Speaker 4 (52:54):
You know.
Speaker 1 (52:54):
We were talking yesterday about what Santa and Nata opened
because they've had such tremendous rain and all the weather's
been terrible and they've been shutting down. And this modern
day and age, uh, we didn't know if they were
open or not, and what are they going to do today?
Speaker 2 (53:13):
And I was.
Speaker 1 (53:14):
I picked up my phone and I called them in California.
She said, said Anita. I said, are you open? She
said yes, until four o'clock or so. I said, what
about tomorrow? Well, we hope so, but the weather looks bad.
I mean, that was just amazing that how many years
ago I couldn't have done that.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
Well, my god, you talk to your son every day
and in Brussels, in Russell, I.
Speaker 1 (53:41):
Know, it's just I'm just.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (53:44):
We had one of those phones when I was a
kid that held the pole in your left hand and
your right hand.
Speaker 4 (53:50):
Picked the receiver off the hook.
Speaker 1 (53:53):
And there, you know, you talked into the thing anyway,
I don't. I like the convenience of it, but I
sure don't.
Speaker 2 (54:02):
Like the I'm a great grandfather.
Speaker 1 (54:05):
Now, yeah, congratulations great grandmother.
Speaker 2 (54:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (54:10):
We two girls, two girls que pretty as can be.
Speaker 4 (54:15):
Yeah, by Ellis and Ruth.
Speaker 2 (54:18):
Ellis and Ruth. Yeah, one and one in Lessington and
one in Brussels. I know that's amazing. Well anyway, well, anyway,
the only great in stakes races year is this weekend
is the Next Move Stakes. No Next Move wanted the
(54:39):
Lost Floor Steaks out of Santa Anita. It's not that
old a steak, and I don't think nineteen sixty one
is too far in the past. Yeah, it might be
way back up for me.
Speaker 1 (54:54):
Yeah. Now it's Aquadell Copan.
Speaker 2 (54:59):
They were open, but they're not running the stake strace,
I mean the graded stakes. They've got some other station
of But the first one, the Last floorish was run
back in nineteen sixty one. I feel it was really
a nice man named Next Move On. It read by
Alfred Vanderbilt, Alfred Gwynn Vanderbilt. She was by bull Lee
(55:24):
out of now what by chance play? It sounds like
came in the old camed breeding because both of those.
Bull Ley of course stood his entire like that out there,
and then if I'm not mistaken, they stood chance play
too at one time, is that right? Yeah? But he
was a good stud off as far as that goes
(55:46):
out of now what and now what was the champ
in two year old Philly of her years and won
the Arlington lasting asked to me and the demoiselle spin
away and then she was the only thing really is she?
She had a bunch of grandchildren to produce things. But
(56:07):
that was a very important stage out there still is
the last Florid other winners missus Clementine won it in
nineteen fifty five. I remember Miss Todd won it. She
was by your host.
Speaker 1 (56:25):
Oh I remember him.
Speaker 2 (56:27):
Yeah, he was a horse that broker's leg and they
were able to keep him in a sling for something
like six months really and he survived.
Speaker 1 (56:40):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (56:41):
Yeah, if he was a house kilso, is that right? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (56:47):
I don't remember that part that was I was too young.
I remember him back then.
Speaker 2 (56:54):
I saw Miss Todd a new world record for five
ages of a mile as the old Hollywood Park out
in Inglewood, out in California. Yeah, it's gone.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
Yeah, I think the rest of California is washed away.
Speaker 2 (57:12):
It sounds here inglewood was inside, you know. I mean
it wasn't right on the right, on the ocean.
Speaker 1 (57:24):
And I don't know. I have no idea how far
in that war water went. But it was a.
Speaker 2 (57:29):
Month bug Brush wanted and affectionately wanted. She was really
shuku wanted. Nineteen seventy two, she was chu who is?
I guess it's French means soul crowd in some language.
It does th h o u cl ute. Not a chance.
Speaker 4 (57:53):
I don't know any French she was.
Speaker 1 (57:56):
I took friend of damn little Covington, for God's sake.
Speaker 2 (58:01):
He was a champion sprinter.
Speaker 1 (58:03):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (58:04):
I knew the guy that trained her, and I was
trying to think of his name now. And like a
lot of other things, when you get to be my age,
you just don't recall them. You forget them.
Speaker 1 (58:14):
You can always fuck it up.
Speaker 2 (58:16):
Yeah, if you wanted to, nah, Well, he was a
friend of mine. I can't remember his name. I tell
you who else. Doctor Copeland was a friend who was
a good friend. He used to treat some of his horses.
I think I'll call Bob, and I asked you was yeah,
there you go. That he's going to putting in all
(58:37):
that time trying to look it up just because they
Bob who trains Shoe Crewney. Well, anyway, she was a name,
and my Juliet won in nineteen seventy seventh. You could fly.
Speaker 4 (58:51):
She had something to do with spends Rift, not Juliet. Yeah, no, no.
Speaker 2 (58:56):
No, although Leslie Home daughter was named Juliet right.
Speaker 1 (59:02):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (59:04):
We used to live next door to him over then
where where I was born on over all nine works Pine,
right next to the suspends still spent for fum.
Speaker 4 (59:14):
Yeah, I remember her.
Speaker 2 (59:16):
That was when mister comes owned. He was a character,
he was. Anyway, let's get going so well, so we
can get James Scully on so I can shut up
and everything. So uh bo Bo's we've got we got
Bo Robinson down there today. The man. Have you been
(59:40):
able to get in touch with James? All right, whistle
while you call.
Speaker 1 (59:48):
He's unreal James. Yeah, that stuff just is all in here.
Speaker 2 (59:54):
He's with Britain ed.
Speaker 1 (59:55):
Yeah, he has got some kind of memory.
Speaker 2 (59:59):
Who I don't see how I can hang on to
all that information is I don't either.
Speaker 4 (01:00:05):
That's a real knack.
Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
That a valiable member of Bloodstock Research Information Services, you know,
because that's you got James Morning, James, Hey.
Speaker 7 (01:00:20):
Good morning, Ursul Jackie. It's always the pleasure to be
armed with you guys. I hope you're doing well.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
Oh, pretty good. Jackie's on the man now, you know
she broke a rib.
Speaker 4 (01:00:33):
Yeah, update on the rib man, but yeah, yeah, we
were just talking about happiness. Just running one stakes today,
but one grade at stakes this weekend.
Speaker 7 (01:00:53):
That's right, the Lost Floor. They've got the what oh
the Lost Florida Last.
Speaker 4 (01:01:03):
Florids A from California tomorrow, right tomorrow on Sunday. I'm
gonna focus though on the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks.
This is the first weekend of twenty twenty six, and
we do have a points qualifier for both races. We
got in New York, we've got the Jerome and the Basanda,
(01:01:25):
the Jerome for Derby, Basanda for Oaks, and Calton. In
Arkansas we got the Smarty Jones today. That's definitely a
race to watch.
Speaker 7 (01:01:33):
That's race in at Oakland this afternoon at five twenty five,
and then we have the Santa Nnez as well this
afternoon as Santa Anita and that's going to have Explora,
who is you know, the probably the Oaks favorite right
now for Bob Bafford. She's by blame, she's out of
a Bernardini Mayor. She ran a close second in the
(01:01:54):
Breeders' Cup Juvenile Phillies and she'll launch her three year
old season. But I will talk about real slick the
Jerome and Aqueduct today. It's race number three, it's a
one mile race. That race is really top by number
five Balboa, who ran third in the Remsen last out Ursul.
(01:02:15):
I think coming into this year, the top three Kentucky
Derby contenders right now just really based on Juvenile Steaks
are obviously Ted Naffy, the soon to be two year
old champ, further Ado who won the Kentucky Jockey Club
for Brad Cox, and Paladin, who reminds a lot of
(01:02:35):
people of Sierra Leone who won the Remsen Steaks for
Chad Brown. So we have Balboa in today's Jerome. He's
coming out of the third at like thirty to one
in the Remsen. He's cutting back to a one turn
mile in this Jerome and he you know, he's the
horse to beat in my mind. You also have my
world in there. For Brad Cox is the son of
(01:02:57):
Essential Quality who won the broke his maid and one
of the Nashualis stakes by open lens. That wasn't the
strongest edition of the Nashala it only got five horses,
but my world looked apart doing it. And I'll mention
one other runner in this a Jerome that interests me
a little bit. It's number one in Forced Agenda. This
(01:03:17):
is a son of Liam's map for George Weaver, and
I really liked his maiden win in late November. He
beat a nice field that day. Arsenal the runner up
could be a good one for Todd Pletcher. Folonius the
third place finisher, Otto came back and broke his maiden
on Wednesday for Chad Brown and did so in good fashion.
(01:03:39):
So Enforced Agenda, the one horse is a horse to
watch out for it in the Jerome. And then I'll
mention the Smarty Jones this afternoon at Oakland Park. It's
race number ten. Like I said, people want to check
out a couple few horses in there. I'll just start
with the morning on favorite number five, Rancho Santa Fe.
Not only did he break his maiden eyes nicely at Ellis,
(01:04:01):
but he came back and won an allowance at Keenlan
for Drad Cox. He'd beat a horse in a nice
horse in there, Infiltraatee who came right back and won
Iroquois stakes at Churchill Downs Kentucky Derby Prep. And Rancho
Santa fez by TapIt. He's out of a smart stripe
mayor you know, TapIt sired for Belmont Stace winners, but
(01:04:22):
he's never had a Kentucky Derby winner and he's getting
real long in the tooth and these are his final
crops in the coming years. It'd be nice to see
Rancho Santa Fe be a good one. We've also got
number one Universe in there, who ran second in the
streets since and second in the Kentucky Jockey Club. And
then we've got number nine Sleeping On Freedom and I
(01:04:46):
really liked this. Sleeping On Freedom's last win at Churchill Downs.
It was a starter allowance victory. He was eligible for
it because he ran in a restricted maiden special weight
and a lot of those starter allowances at Churchill Downs
as well. Ursul we're just basically entry level allowances.
Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (01:05:04):
They were good races. So number nine, Sleeping on Freedom
is my picking the Smarty Jones today.
Speaker 4 (01:05:12):
Okay, can I ask you a question?
Speaker 7 (01:05:17):
Yeah, Kenny, Yeah, Kenny Peak and you know.
Speaker 4 (01:05:22):
Kennedy pak Sleep go ahead.
Speaker 1 (01:05:26):
Do they get Derby points for the Smarty Jones?
Speaker 7 (01:05:31):
Yes, yeah, the Smarty Jones is the is. Yeah, it
is a Kentucky Derby qualifier. It's ten points to the winner.
The winner of the Jerome gets ten points. The runner
and the winner of the Smarty Jones gets ten points.
And as long as five horses stay in the in
the Jerome, uh, it will be that there's points back
(01:05:53):
down to the fifth place finisher. You know, as far
as Kenny me peak goes, he does have two horses
in here. He's got Universe and he's got Sleeping on Freedom.
Plus he's got a bunch of nice three year olds
coming into this season. Obviously Brad Cox has a ton
of them and and others. But yeah, I'll be interesting
(01:06:13):
to see because this Marty Jones actually produced Mystic Dan.
He didn't win that race two years ago, but he
ran in the Mystic Dan. I mean, excuse me. He
ran in the Smarty Jones for Kenny McPeek and after
he ran got beat in there by catching Freedom who
wound up winning Louisiana Derby and running forth in the
Kentucky Derby, and then he came back and he won
(01:06:36):
the Southwest and he won the Southwest Stakes next out.
So this Marty Jones has produced the Derby winner in
recent years and it promises to be a good race
this afternoon at Oakland Park.
Speaker 4 (01:06:49):
Oh yeah, good, you have to watch that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
Have you noticed watching Fandue alone? Kenny speakers. He's getting
some kind of business that he's advertising. He's got some model.
Comes on, there's a knockout of you've seen that I had.
Speaker 7 (01:07:11):
I think I saw an ad for it. I didn't
pay a lot of attention to it, but yeah, listen,
he does a good job promoting horse racing. You know,
he's got Terry Bradshaw and some other owners in there
with him, and yeah, I like how he's out there
hustling horse racing to new ownership groups and I'm all
(01:07:35):
for it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:37):
Good for him.
Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
Well, he caught my attention with that model. Yeah yeah, yeah, Well,
(01:07:58):
you know, James, that's still a little but I've forgotten one,
but it was interesting anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:08:06):
Yeah, absolutely, you got another winner too far as people
are waiting for him.
Speaker 7 (01:08:17):
Yoh man, those are my only winners. I got sleeping
on freedom for you today. I wish I had a
couple more. I didn't do enough handicap before your audience today,
but I do want to wish y'all happy new year
once again, and looking forward to this Kentucky game at noon.
Speaker 4 (01:08:35):
Go Caps Cats.
Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
Yeah, yeah, it's going to be tough for Alabama.
Speaker 4 (01:08:45):
Yeah, gonna be a tough one.
Speaker 7 (01:08:49):
Hey, you get two weeks off from it, though, It's
like I'm itching to see a game.
Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
They haven't played it two weeks. That's a long break.
So yeah, I'm excited for it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:59):
Yeah, okay, all right, my friend, Well, a happy new
Year to you and yours. And it's always fun to
talk to you, and hopefully we'll talk to you next week.
Speaker 7 (01:09:10):
All righty, I'll take care and uh yeah, we'll talk
to you again soon and until next time.
Speaker 4 (01:09:17):
All the best, all right, thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
Friend, Thanks? Alrighty, I always like to talk to James.
I know.
Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
It's amazing you said something was slightly off, returning to
something else, and hey, by god, knew exactly what you
were talking about.
Speaker 4 (01:09:35):
Yeah, it's just who Yeah, that's amazing. He's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
It's pretty good. What time is it?
Speaker 5 (01:09:46):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:09:47):
It was a little bit early, but I can go
ahead and do that.
Speaker 1 (01:09:50):
We're coming up at nine o'clock.
Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
Right, we'll pass.
Speaker 1 (01:09:55):
Oh did you do air during station ninety? Not that
I know.
Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
No, I'll go ahead and do I thought I did
Airdred again?
Speaker 4 (01:10:08):
Did I do airdrew Bow?
Speaker 2 (01:10:14):
Okay, well i'll do I'll do that right now, all right?
And of course James did they as the station id
for Bristnet. Oh right, well, Jonathan's way by the red
hot Wocoma is to stand. In his first season stud
in twenty twenty six at Drew Stud eighty five hundred
stands of nurses. Won his first start as a two
(01:10:36):
year old at Sarahtokob a four and a quarter length,
and was named a rising star by Throb Daily News.
In the second start, he verified their opinion by winning
the Grade three Iroquois Sakes up at Churchill won that
for almost three lanth Two aces later, also at Churchill,
he ran second in the Grade two Kentucky Jockey Club
of six after a nightmare trip. At the time, he
(01:10:58):
was the second favorite in the Kentucky's Nervery future wager
before a near fatal illness ended his career, but Coomo
was the leading second crop star in twenty twenty five.
His stud fee has climbed one hundred thousand dollars for
twenty twenty six. He is a grave one winner and
multiple and million dollar earner by the superior SI Candy
(01:11:23):
Ride tire of one hundred and sixteen states runners. But
I really think I suspect that the folks over drew
stood attention to Jonathan Way is because his damn the
stakes winner Female Drama is by Indian Charlie. Indian Charlie
stud has stood over to Edred stood. Now. Indian Charlie
is the sire of the late great Uncle Moa, a
(01:11:45):
champion TiO old and not only a great sire, but
there is su of sires is Kentucky Derby winning son
Niquist a tanking two You old Commander stud for you
one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars. Jonathan's Way will
receive a wet changed the word edwreth stood because they
really support their young stayers. Call Shannon or Kyle and
(01:12:06):
go see Jonathan's Way. He's a grand individual. The number
is eight five nine, eight seven, three seventy two seventy
and the website is edrich stood dot com. And of
course when we were talking about Bristnette dot Brisnett, James
(01:12:27):
Quarks for Breston that as for quite a while, and
it was founded by Dick Broadbent, who his Happy Broadbent
rented from Happy sold he sold out, he retired. Good
for him, Yeah, good for Happy. He's one of the guys,
good guys. He is happiest. I hope he's doing real well.
(01:12:48):
If you happen to be listening. Happy Happy Birthday. That's
a real name. By the way, it is, that's what
the name. It must have been a happy baby must
have Wow way it's it's it's a great outfit. It's
a great outfit. I've been getting mamosels with them for years.
Speaker 4 (01:13:10):
Yeah, still do absolutely well.
Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
I can't hardly wait sometimes to get on there and
look at all the winners. I look at every damn track,
of course, every track.
Speaker 1 (01:13:24):
If from every so often somebody like Spencer up like that,
but coma winner. It'll come up on my computer or
my phone or something and I'll come out and say,
did you see that? And well, of course I did.
It was under a cent, so didn't miss it.
Speaker 2 (01:13:45):
Yeah, okay, let's see where are we now? What time
is it? It's time to do a Cleveland Yeah, okay,
we talk about a very well named horse. Well, which one,
Bright Future?
Speaker 1 (01:14:02):
Oh? Yeah, that is I'm surprised that one hadn't been
taken somewhere because that's a good name.
Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
Yeah, okay, Well he's at Claven Palm. Bright Future. He's
a great one winner about curling out of a sex
winning mayor that has produced three graded stakes winners from
three folds. To raise that, ough'll be enough right there
to make you sit up and take notice. I'll tell
you Bright Future won the Great One Jockey Club Gold Cup,
the Grade three Sabatoe a mile plus in sei and
(01:14:33):
pressive scores at Saratoga Golf Stream. You're nine hundred and
forty seven thousand, nine hundred and forty dollars. He was
a runner a typical curling curling as everybody knows of
the Sarasias for instance, good magic, but curling aside two
classic winners in his first two cops, his fee is
jumped up a little bit one hundred and twenty five
(01:14:55):
thousand dollars now and Bright Future's damn. Sofia's song is
also so impressive. She is the damn of Listen to
this three folds to raise all three one graded steaks.
How about that that was Booth and let's see Bright
Bright Future of course first, and then Grade two Winter
Musical Mischief and Grade three Winter Booth and Bright Future second.
(01:15:19):
Damn at full sister of the champion Housebuster, was a
sensational producer. We count ten major stakes winners under her name,
and the list just keeps on going. Bright Futures first
folds will arrived in twenty twenty six. Stud fee is
ten thousand stands of nurses. Go see me. We think
you're gonna like. What you see is a good looking horse.
(01:15:42):
And also take a look while you're there. If the
two new stallions are going to stand their first seasons
that stood over at Cleven Farm, that would be mind Frame,
a Grade one stakes winner of two million, fifty four
thousand and four to eighted Us and Johannah a Grade
one win of a million, two hundred ninety eight thousand,
three hundred and fifty nine dollars. Why don't you call
Jacob West to call a five nine nine, eight seven
(01:16:05):
two three three. Oh and the website is a clebanfarm
dot com.
Speaker 1 (01:16:10):
Okay, another fine outfit over here in Bourbon County Hope
Well Insurance Agency. When we moved to Bourbon County, good job.
I can't remember that far back, but we talk. We
have friends and they said for insurance, you go to
the Hope Woll company. So we like to shop local
(01:16:32):
when we can. So R Soll had to talk with
Tim McClean and just came up with a great idea.
These people are an independent insurance agency. They don't have
to hook in with a giant insurance agency where all
(01:16:53):
the fees are set and everything the price.
Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
And no they.
Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
Don't they don't work for insurance company.
Speaker 4 (01:16:59):
They were for you.
Speaker 1 (01:17:00):
So they have a carefully selected group of financially sound,
reputable companies so they can poke around and find the
best coverage at the best price for you. So the
folks that hope Well can give you a no cost,
no obligation review in comparison of your insurance that you've got. Now,
(01:17:24):
great idea. They've been in business foop nineteen fifty five.
So well you know they're doing something right, because otherwise
they wouldn't be in business. That oh, my god, they're
coming up on one hundred years board. Anyway, it's a
full service insurance agency. Give them a call. It's local
(01:17:45):
Paris number nine eighty seven two three four seven. That's
nine eighty seven two three four seven. Better yet, Stop
by the office A twenty Main Street. You can't miss it.
Drive down and look to the right and you'll see ye.
Speaker 4 (01:18:00):
Drive in.
Speaker 1 (01:18:01):
They've got a parking lot in the back. They are
really nice people. They're they're great jobs for you.
Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
WWTFA M Georgetown WTFS A lable everywhere with the iHeartRadio
app now number one for podcasting.
Speaker 3 (01:18:19):
Now back to the Thoroughbred Training Center and urso Ellis.
Speaker 1 (01:18:25):
Okay, wanted to mention this. Keenland Library sets up a
lecture series once a month, hut books and stuff like that,
and it's it's they kind of what they call a
gate starting gates story time program, a library lecture series
(01:18:48):
and all kind of stuff. They offer free year round
exhibit tours and their popular lecture series includes offs who
conducted research ah at the facility. Okay, December twenty January, sorry,
January twenty first, it's the next one. It's Gary A.
(01:19:13):
O'Dell reinventing the American thoroughbred. And it is really interesting.
Speaker 4 (01:19:20):
I love history.
Speaker 1 (01:19:23):
It's about Alexander Keen Richards, one of the nineteenth century's
most significant thoroughbred importers and breeders. This guy traveled to
Syria in eighteen fifty one and eighteen fifty five who
diet Arabian stock to san do his breeding farm Bluegrass
(01:19:47):
Park near Georgetown. And he had a place in Louisiana
called Transylvania. So anyway he did that. I think that's
pretty old and our reaching tell you myself, I want
to go to Seria.
Speaker 5 (01:20:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:20:06):
Anyway. It is Wednesday, January twenty first, six thirty to
eight thirty. You can call the Keenland Library. It's twenty
dollars a ticket. It's always twenty a ticket. Plus if
you want a ticket with a book, it's fifty, So
give them a call. Libraries two five, four, three, four,
(01:20:27):
one two and oh. February's book is Curtis Stock. It's
a book about the Turcotts, Ron Turcott, et cetera.
Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
The Remcreturios Old Rider. Huh Secretariat's Old Rider.
Speaker 1 (01:20:45):
Yeah, it's called the Remarkable Story of a horse Racing Dynasty.
That's good. And then in March it's Steve Haskin Tales
from the Triple Crown. It's pretty good stuff, very interesting. Yeah,
and that's.
Speaker 2 (01:21:02):
Just used to be with a ration for him a
long time.
Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
Yeah, we were talking to Michael about people with old
stories and all that good stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:21:11):
That's at the Kinglin Library. Yeah, that's wonderful.
Speaker 2 (01:21:16):
Okay, well let's see they're running, just just running. The
one Lost Floors is the only graded stakes, but they've
got some other steaks and they're interesting. For instance, up
at Turfway, everybody's always interested in the local track. If
you call, wello, it's the Kentucky Track. Yes, it's called
(01:21:37):
the Turfway Preview Stakes, one hundred and twenty five thousand
dollars pot for three year olds. That's nice and it's
got a feel of seven. Four of the seven are
about stallions of clients, so I'm mentioned that for number one,
Blessed Warrior for instances by Motoli, who stands at Spenser
(01:22:05):
Farm and then a shipmate sometime. There's number three. Number
four is named trains Transitter. He's by Modernists and Modester

is the sire of another one in their number number three,
(01:22:26):
Uh hometown bound where that thing Watch Humphrey Junior Victoria
Oliver and watch Humphrey the third and let's see number
six is named Jupiter by Upstart. Of course Upstart stands
at Airdrie stood and on the outside it is a
(01:22:50):
horse and row o yanna. So that's the turf Way
previous stakes straight today. As a matter of fact, it's
say the Jerome will Uh James talked about the Jerome,
so we don't have to worry about that there. I
don't think I mentioned the Bu Sandra Station, great producer
(01:23:12):
of great race Mayor Husander b Usa n d A.
And it's it's got a few uh just six Midnight
Jinny and by Cloud Computing and Britain by Quality Road
shilling by Clobal campaign, two bits by American Pharaoh, Dazzling
(01:23:37):
Dame by Gervin. Gervin stands over there we stood and
then unbelievable what curling is there? Also? Those those are
some of them. I'm looking up. It's time to do

I'm gonna say a few words about Sally Do you
think he can get doc?
Speaker 2 (01:40:51):
Yeah? Uh uh, both say if you didn't get get
doc on that first, oh miss okay.
Speaker 1 (01:41:00):
A Sally Van service has been in business for as
long as they've been vaning horses. You know that. You
go back and look at those old pictures that says
Sally Van. They've been in business for a zillion, well
way long time ago, and many of the greatest runners
(01:41:20):
ever to step on a racetrack have been entrusted to
their care. I saw a picture of Justify getting off
of Sally Van. I think it was at Churchill. It
was great. So I always say, if it's good enough
for Justify, it's good enough for you. So there you are.
What's really, really, really interesting about those people. They're so
(01:41:41):
proud of their equipment. Golly, and it's beautiful. You've never
seen one with the least bit dirty or uncard for
I mean, they're beautiful. They have their own place where
they work on them, and that's that's just a given.
But they're also really really into their experienced drive. Theres
(01:42:02):
are experienced horsemen, and that's what you need because you
never will know when you're driving down the road some
horse gonna act up, So you have to have somebody
knows what you're doing. So now when you load your
horse into a Sally horse Fan, you can depend on
the fact the guy behind the wheels one of the
best in the business. They wouldn't have hired him if
(01:42:24):
it hadn't if he wasn't, And that's why for more
than half a century, Sally Vans. Now this is a
local number, Sali Horseman's two five to five ninety four
oh six. That's two five five ninety four oh six.
It's the safest way to the winner's circle.
Speaker 2 (01:42:44):
All right, were you able to you got doc? Hey?
Good morning, doc Hey, good morning. How you doing.
Speaker 6 (01:42:57):
Doing well down here? How about you guys and contact?
Speaker 2 (01:43:01):
Oh well we're just getting older. Well I'm glad for that.
I don't want to stop doing that, uh.
Speaker 1 (01:43:13):
I say, I guess everybody's happy about the game.
Speaker 6 (01:43:19):
Which well, the Mississippi State was any of the Duke's
Mayonnaise Bowl, but we lost at our coach didn't get
to have the mayonnaise board over him last night.
Speaker 2 (01:43:31):
Oh okay, this is doctor Brin Wallridge now at Mississippi State.
How you doing, Doc? What's going on down there?
Speaker 6 (01:43:40):
We've been pretty quiet over the holidays. You know, we've
had the college because our tempertures have kind of done
the Kentucky thing where though dropped thirty degrees in the
day and get cold. So we've had a few colleges.
Speaker 2 (01:43:53):
So I've got.
Speaker 6 (01:43:55):
The case are going to talk about today is a
huge widesday. It's over a ton that's running a fever,
and you know, you really can't find much going on
with them. And we call these fever run on origin cases.
And you know everybody runs into those on the farm
or at the track, you know, had you know, people
(01:44:16):
end up having scratch horses for for fevers. You know,
which to me is the temperture over one o one
and a half. And you know, if you when you
approach these cases, the one thing you have to think
about is trying to figure out where the fever's coming from.
If you play the odds, most fevers are in the chest,
(01:44:37):
you know, the respiratory infections and number two is the
is the abdomen, so you you know, ultrasounds helped us
on that to scan their chest. Now you can at
least see with ultrasound if the edge of the lung
is rough ed, or you might see abscesses in there,
which you know, I think the ultrasound's gone a long
(01:44:57):
way to help us try to diagnose these things. And
then you know, we get blood work out on see
if the white blood cell count changes, as it might
go high, it might go low, you know, and this
horse is white blood cell counts low, which you know,
to me that usually means there's a problem with the
intestinal track. Is what happens with that is there's bacteria
(01:45:22):
in the gut. You know, they're doing their job, they're
fermenting the fiber and all. And whenever something happens to
the lightning of the gut, does the bacteria make toxins
when they grow And normally not much gets across the
barrier if the gut lining is healthy and what does
get across the liver takes most of that circulation. But
(01:45:45):
if there's damage to the lighting of the gut, more
that toxin gets across and it will cause a white
blood cell count to drop. And when I see that,
then I tend to think, okay, we've got something going
on with with the gut, and then your ultrasound can
help you there, you know, to see if they're stickening
of the gut or fluid in the abdominos of the
(01:46:07):
kind of things we look for, uh there to try
to figure something out. And with these big horses, it's
really hard to shoot through.
Speaker 2 (01:46:16):
Them with ultrasound.
Speaker 6 (01:46:17):
Uh so you usually don't see very much. And something's
really revolutionized medicine, you know, within the last oh, I
guess twenty years, maybe less. It's what's called the PCR test,
and it's the plume RaSE chain reaction test. And you know,
back in the old days, if you had to test
(01:46:38):
for say, whatever virus, you'd have to get some blood,
see what their antibody was. It really come back two
weeks later, see if that antibody went up, which should
mean the body responded to it. But now or try
to grow a bacteria. But now we can just turn
in these panels. You know, you can turn in blood sample,
turn into the nasal swab, turn in the there and
(01:47:02):
the labs are able to find the DNA to all
these different viruses and bacteria and they can run a
whole panel. So you might get eight or ten different
things on that. So it's really revolutionized medicine, especially like
the racetrack outbreaks of fever. You know, they can get
those swabs done tay if it's strangles, tay if it's flu,
(01:47:23):
tay if it's purpose virus, and you know within twenty
four hours, within hours that test usually run just takes
hours to run. So we depend on those tests a lot.
So we come a long way in these cases, but
they're still hard to figure out.
Speaker 2 (01:47:39):
Sometimes.
Speaker 1 (01:47:42):
That's fantastic now when you when you've got like that,
you draw blood and ship it somewhere and get the
results back at in a day, right.
Speaker 6 (01:47:53):
If you get it like the lab fare of Lexington,
if you the lab I like to use, if you
get it there before noon, they will tell me by
the end of the day. How that you know what
they plan. It's amazing. It's amazing technology because you know,
I remember back the like biology. You know, the our
(01:48:15):
DNA is that twisted helix. It's a twisted ladder and
so there's there's a side of each DNA. If you
heat up d N A, it'll unzip. And so the
people that are smart enough to figure this stuff out,
they know what genes they're looking for. And if you
kind of make in your media.
Speaker 4 (01:48:36):
When you do this, you have your primer which starts.
Speaker 6 (01:48:40):
That gene and you know the DNA wants to fix
itself and so they can mark that with labels. Usually
it glows a run through a machine that hit the
right laser and it glows. That's how they detect it.
Speaker 1 (01:48:53):
But that's what they do.
Speaker 4 (01:48:58):
Is that what they do with you too, And so
what it's able.
Speaker 6 (01:49:03):
To do is to find these different viruses and bacteria
at low levels because what it does is, you know
it's cycle, so two becomes four, four becomes eight, So
it amplifies the DNA if it's there, and it finds
it and you can use that number to help you
know if there's a lot or a little of the
organism or whatever there. But it's it's absolutely amazing technology
(01:49:26):
of toads. And then now they have some where we're
hoping to get it here the next month or two.
They do have even for a veterinary hospitals now a
desktop machine and it's able to do herpes viruses, strangles
and Salmonella g I pathogen h with so far as
horse is negative for culture but it's able to do that.
(01:49:49):
And it takes extra day for Salmonel because he has
extra steps. But still, I mean, it's revolutionized medicine.
Speaker 2 (01:49:57):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:49:58):
To me that pc our task. The guy that you
know came up with it.
Speaker 2 (01:50:02):
He won a Nobel prize.
Speaker 4 (01:50:04):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:50:06):
That and ultrasound radically, you know, changed our ability to
diagnose and do things. You know, I tell students all
the time. You know, you guys are came up in
an era where you had you know, I can remember
being in school. We were taught by one of the
guys who was the grandfather of ultrasound in uh in
(01:50:28):
very name medicine, and they show us those pictures of ultrasounds,
and you know, we just laughed, Oh, We're never going
to do this.
Speaker 2 (01:50:34):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:50:34):
And now I'll probably do it almost every day and uh,
you know, practice without it. And you know, in a
relatively short period of time, we have some amazing things
that didn't used to have.
Speaker 1 (01:50:50):
Well, congratulations, that's wonderful.
Speaker 2 (01:50:52):
Yeah, all right, my friend, I hope everything's going okay
with you, Jevin, have them Did you did you watch
the ball come down?
Speaker 1 (01:51:03):
I did not.
Speaker 6 (01:51:04):
I was well asleep by the time that ball came down.
I've been on duty and uh, trying to get things
caught up around my place, clearing some pent rows and things.
So I didn't have the fortitude to watch.
Speaker 2 (01:51:19):
The ball go down. Yeah me either. Okay, all right,
well listen, we'll you have a great weekend and happy
New Year to you, and we'll talk to you too.
Speaker 6 (01:51:31):
Happy New Year, everybody, how about thank you?
Speaker 2 (01:51:35):
All right, let's talk about the training center for a
little bit. Yeah, place to train, great place to train
your horses. You know, it's right there off close to
the interstated on the Interstate on the Paris Pike, Paris Pike,
and that's convenient if you're going to do river down.
Speaker 1 (01:51:56):
That's right the interstates right there, Yeah, right there, seventy
five to sixty four, right exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
And we've got a great facilities there. You know, you
can take a green horse out there and like doctors
got of course, they broke him on the farm, and
he's got a nice and nice erling. But you can
take one out there and break him. He could could
break him right there.
Speaker 1 (01:52:20):
And there's well there's two tracks. Yeah, they you don't
have to take a baby out with the people working.
You go the lower track.
Speaker 2 (01:52:28):
Yeah, so it was uh, anyway, that's it's, it's it's
it's a great facility out there. They got the mile
track and the five ah mile track, and they've got
a starting gate, they got a clocker. You know, you
can't take him out and in the little field in
the back out there you can go great gallop him
(01:52:48):
on the grass, kind of rolling, nice kind of field,
you know. And the facilities are so good. It's got
great manage and it's a great atmosphere out there. It
really we were out there for a long long time
and I don't retire. I don't regret stopping training, but
(01:53:15):
while we trained, we had a good time when we
were out there.
Speaker 1 (01:53:17):
Oh yeah, it was great. People were wonderful.
Speaker 2 (01:53:20):
We had Barn fifteen out there for years.
Speaker 1 (01:53:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:53:24):
And then when Jackie decided you're going to go back
to law school, I just trained one or two horses
by myself out there. Yeah. We both licensed training.
Speaker 1 (01:53:35):
Yeah, and you know most of the barns, you can
take one out and graise them right outside your barn. Yeah,
that's night sources like that.
Speaker 2 (01:53:43):
Yeah, it's a reasonable rates. Oh yeah, it's a little
difficult getting stalls because it's a popular place to train yep,
and especially for people who live in the area, you know,
and maybe have another business. That's what we did. Yeah,
you know, this is our the business. And of course
(01:54:06):
we had farm too. We always had a farm. Yeah. Great,
And anyway, it's uh uh, it's just a great place
to train your horses out there. But I was going
to read another little something here, but I don't think
I have to how many how much time I got
left out there? Bo three minutes? Ah, I don't think
(01:54:34):
I can read this in three minutes. I'm out give
it a try. Okay. I don't remember seeing it did
heat for fifth place before, but Holly and A Capital
managed it in the Kentucky Derby. Hally is owned but
Clifford Moores, who had Old rock Port and another Derby
and didn't have much hope for that entry. I asked
(01:54:55):
him a couple of days before the derby and thought
of his chances, and mister Moores not a Manda Good
in Moniciples. We now turned the microphone over to him.
When I was up in Alaska, the big sporting event
was a dog team race between Dawson and Noom. There
was a driver up there named Jack who had the
(01:55:15):
mail run. He had the best team of dogs in
the country too, and everybody that knew about him bet
on him. Well. I don't know if he pulled the
dogs or not, but anyway, he finished second. People were
a little mad about it, and there was some pretty
rough talk about him. About a month later, most of
it had died down, but not all of it. Jack
was leaning upstairs over a saloon and noom and with
(01:55:38):
what may have been his wife, And one morning, when
a few of the boys were waking themselves up with
a bracer, there was the sound of gunfire from upstairs.
The two quarrel a lot, and for a while nobody
paid much attention. Well, there came Jack down the stairs,
hitting every fifth step, and every time he lit, she
(01:55:58):
took another shot at him. She couldn't shoot worth anything,
but the sewing was throwing forty five slugs into the
walls pretty briskly. Jack hit the floor, skidding a little
in the saws, and straightened out for those swinging doors.
As he went to him, one of the men at
the bar called out to him, Hey, Jack, how about it?
(01:56:20):
Are you trying this time? Well, said mister Morse, now
being removed from the microphone. I don't know about Hawley. Well,
I don't know if we'll get anything, but we're trying.
Speaker 1 (01:56:31):
That's funny.
Speaker 4 (01:56:33):
That's one of the lad that's funny.
Speaker 6 (01:56:36):
That's of course, it's one of those little are you
trying this time?
Speaker 1 (01:56:40):
Honey?
Speaker 2 (01:56:42):
That Joe Palmer's book co Yeah, this was raising was
put together. Red Smith put that together. That thing I
read in the first half of red Smith.
Speaker 1 (01:56:52):
Yeah, that's she.
Speaker 2 (01:56:57):
But I would suggest that if you're going in, you're
looking for stalls over at training training center, and they're
hard to find. But if you got one or two horses,
if you walk through the stalls, just walking, ask nobody
to want to live if they can subleash you. Saw
(01:57:21):
all right, I believe that we're here. What's the name
of that thing that they play right now? Happy Trails,
Happy Trails with Roy Rogers that it's just time for
us to stand off though. All right. Thanks Bo Robinson
down at the station, he's my man.
Speaker 4 (01:57:39):
Thank you all, appreciate you. We'll talk to you later.
