Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Stockyards Bank Sunday Morning Sports Talk, presented by
the lead troop Ford Radio Network on six thirty w LAP.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Welcome back Stockyards Bank Sunday morne is sports Talk. I'm
Anthony White, along with Jack Pilgrim and Larry Vaught, Bo
Robinson hunkered down in downtown lects Pick, Kentucky and Clark's
Main Street Market studios. Oh you good over there, Everything
fine and dandy. You'd had two weeks of hell, haven't you.

(00:30):
I have two weeks of radio hell. I was telling
people this because they were making fun of the technical
issues we had last week. And I saw a few
people online laughing lol technical issues haha. And I'm like,
do I show up to your work and laugh at
you when you have problems?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
No?

Speaker 4 (00:47):
I don't so anyway, And I say that very sarcastically.
We got to have a little fun with all the
weather and everything like that. Yes, I did fall earlier
this morning. Go ahead and laugh at me. It's fine,
but we've got things kind of figured out for the
most part.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Here.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Anthony's online with us, Jack is online, and Larry is online. Well,
so we're doing okay here in the studio. I got
plenty of food, a couple of ala its.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
The bar was well stocked last night at the hotel.
We're good, good.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Deal, good deal, and we are on Eric coming to
Larry Vaught. We are well. We are.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
I am scared, not we I am scared to take
phone calls because I'm not certain if I can hear.
And it's kind of pointless if you all call in
to make a call and Larry Jack and I are
not able to hear your question. So if you feel
compelled to make a phone call, you can call in
the eight five nine two eight zero two two eighty seven,
but it may be cut short, and I don't want

(01:40):
to do that to it.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
If they do call in, I will take their question
off the air and I'll hold on to it and
then I'll relate it to you. Well, okay, so we
can still take questions. I can still talk to the callers,
and also too on social media if they want to
submit a question as well. We got that option, and
that is where I was head.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Gooy, Larry.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
I'd especially get ellen Ice on here, because I did
get confirmation from my daughter in law and others as
BO did that ellen Ice is indeed a legitimate w
l a X eighteen storm reporter out there slipping and
sliding on the ice. So I wasn't crazy when I
saw that this morning.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Ellen Nice.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
We appreciate you and you deserve nil for that, Ellen Ice,
because right now you should be marketing.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
You should be marketing to death. But here's here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Bo kind of led into what I was getting into
Larry Vaught and Jack Pilgrim as well, because you keep
up with our women's team.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
I was trying to pull up information.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
But Larry, the question was asked, and I thought about
this early in the season, but things were going so
well and kind of what I, like I said with
Travis Perry, were wondering how would things be if we
still had Clara Clara Silver? How how would those things be?
But you don't prepare for those things. And how many

(02:58):
minutes would she get.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Well?

Speaker 5 (03:01):
With the way that they are struggling right now, she'd
get significant minutes. I mean, she's getting pretty good minutes
where she's at right now. I'm playing very well. But
you also remember the Kentucky's got a McDonald's all Americans
sitting on the bench. It's not getting but six or
seven eight minutes a game either. I think you got

(03:22):
to find a way to use Kayla and Carroll more.
And maybe she's not ready to be a physical banger
and all like that, but a fresh Kaitl and Carroll's
got to be better than when you got some of
these other players that are just tired. When you were
watching yesterday, you could just tell there were several loose
balls of different things. They just didn't quite have that
pep in their step to get to that they were

(03:44):
getting to earlier in the season. But if you remember anything,
you worried all last year about them wearing down, especially
Georgia playing so many minutes. But now they've got like
four players playing that many minutes, and I think it
does it is taking a toll. The good thing is
they've got a whole week off out. They don't play
again till a week from today, so maybe they can
kind of rest or rejuvenate, give so another week to

(04:06):
work on Tianni getting getting back. I still have no
idea what it is.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Nobody's really giving you a timeline.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
So, but they aftrilusive for their last six They need
to kind of regroup and regroup in a hurry.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
And I wasn't I was not concerned really about how
many people who was playing. I was concerned about, as
you said, Georgia playing forty plus minutes a game, because
she's the head of the snake, she's the coach on
the court. So I was just worried if we got
so accustomed happening her on the court and directing traffic

(04:41):
and doing everything that, whether she got tired, whether it's
fiul trouble, what are we gonna do? Because I'm telling you,
and it's funny, I don't even know if you know this.
When I played with Tim Couch, he got his ies,
he got his eyes gouged against George, and he had
to come out for a play. We just did a
run play. He came right back in the next play.

(05:01):
I could not imagine having to go on extensive time
without Tim Couch being And that's not a knock to
the other people. We just had such chemistry, I mean,
such comfort with him being on the floor, him being
on the field. That you know, and if any I
don't know if I want to say that, but if
any team was smart, just hurt him. I'm not saying

(05:23):
you should, and I'm not condoning injuries, but I mean
it's just such a barbaric sport. Football is such a
barbaric sport. You're trying to take somebody's head off is
just a normal practice. Point was That's what I was
worried more about Georgia being off the court was the
leadership where we're gonna miss whether like I said, whether
it could be due to foul trouble or a fatigue.

(05:45):
And I didn't want to be for fatigued. Where you started,
she started giving up other opportunities.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
But no, I do believe I.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Guess like Perry, like Perry, that Silver really did not
have an opportunity, was not gonna be able to do
what she's doing the TCU now where she's going for
ten and eight, so and that's in the you know,
contributing in large minutes. I think that before Tianni, now
I would have been perfect if she had it been

(06:15):
on the bench or it's just been available when Tianni
did not when Tianni went down. But I would not
expect again if I had offspring, if I had children,
I would not expect my child to sit on the bench.
If they are capable of playing in another university, that is,
that's fine with me. That's why I do not like
Ohio State. But Jack Pilgrim, I don't know how much

(06:38):
you keep up with the women game. I know we
did talk about Perry yesterday, but the question was posed
on x if Silva was still here, what would that
look like or And I think it's a more opportune
question because Key went down. But there's a question none
the less, a pretty interesting topic considering it injury.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Yeah, I don't know. I think it's tricky.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
I think, you know, I really liked her as a player,
but I know she's she's thriving where she is right now.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
But you know, I like this group. I do.

Speaker 6 (07:13):
I think that they they've hit a rough patch. I
think they have the pieces. I think their depth has
been tested, and you know, they just need like I
said earlier, they just need something to go right for him.
I need some just some type of you know, whether
it is just Tiani coming back in the lineup and
just kind of being you know, her own little resurgence,

(07:33):
or you know, just stack a win or two. However
they can come kind of like how can the men's
team is doing just it doesn't matter how ugly it is,
doesn't matter how pretty it is just just get it done,
get it across the finish line, and then you know,
see see if you can build some momentum that way.
I probably I don't think it'd be, you know, too
drastically different with Silva in the lineup, But yeah, I

(07:57):
think they'll be okay.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Social media, as both said, you can call in, he'll
take your questions.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
You can go on social media.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
We are at Sunday Am Sports on x and Sunday
Morning Sports Talk on Facebook. Those are the only outlets
we have. And Larry vaugh it was brought to my
attention by a long time listener and think a pretty
good friend of yours that they felt it was unacceptable.
They feel like it's unacceptable the bull former player. They

(08:27):
said they were disappointed in me because I think Jack
kind of said as well, or not as well, that
he understood. I did not say it was okay to
bull former for I've never I've always been pro leave
the players alone, like let those people play us. And
people like to say their kids, now you're eighteen years old,

(08:47):
so you are pretty much an adult because they want
to make adult decisions half the time when you turn eighteen.
I don't know if you remember turning eighteen, Larry Vaught.
I remember turning eighteen both and Jack, but it was
said they were disappointed that I don't remember saying that
it was okay for them to boot. I said it
sounded as if and everything I heard was that they

(09:08):
were booing just to, you know, to break his concentration
or take his focus off the game, which whether I.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Mean that's fine or not, but I know, Larry, and
now this is my take on it.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Look, when we played against e k U after how
Mommy first got here and all of all of them,
quite a few of our players transferred to EKU and
we beat them sixty or seventy something to nothing.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
I wasn't helping them up off the pile. I wasn't.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
I wasn't bulling, but we were trying to We're trying to,
you know, make sure they understood that, uh we on
this turf.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Larry Vault, I don't.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I don't know, Uh Alan Alan go Big Blue, and
they've been They've always been.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Very supportive of the show.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
So that's why I kind of take it, take this
comment a little Yeah, you may know differently, Larry.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Maybe I was disrespectful.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
I didn't think I got what you were saying. And again,
everybody's got their own take on everything like that, so
we'll just kind of leave that to each their own.
I mean myself, I wouldn't believe to understand why people
would grudge him what he did, but again, or everybody's different, and.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
That is sometimes it's good, I think good sportsmanship.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Like I've seen some people in the NBA play against
each other and have a little beef for whatever, and
people take it the wrong way, but that's they're things.
That's just competitive nature of it. But I understand that
before we're gonna have Greg Williams on at the top
of hour, but I do know we're losing Jack at
ten thirty. But Jack, I didn't want to kind of

(10:53):
reach out to you about the Cam Williams. If this
season can't get any more mysterious for Mark Pope. You
know they say the highest paid roster, whatever dollar mount
you want to make that him trying to implement his system,
not working him go a little bit more to a
little more more motion offense, and you know, getting down here,

(11:15):
whoever can get down here, where you can get downhill.
We're starting to play better defense. But every time we
try to turn the dog on corner, Jack Pilgrim, there's
an injury, and we're gonna have Greg Williams want to
see how serious it is with Cam.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
What's your take on Cam Cam's injury. It just sucks.
It is There's no good way of spinning it.

Speaker 6 (11:37):
You know, he is a really, really talented player who
was just starting to find his groove and momentum, Like
he was playing himself onto the floor by doing all
the other things with the rebounding and the defense and
you know, finishing well around the rim and all of that,
and then the shot making, which is why he was
brought in from Tulane. Is a former forty three point

(12:00):
shooter at Tulane that his shots were starting to fall
on top of it.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
So then he comes becomes a.

Speaker 6 (12:05):
Complete two way player and you know, works his way
into the starting lineup. And now he goes down, breaks
his foot, undergoes foot surgery.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
We'll see if if he's.

Speaker 6 (12:18):
Able to swing for the fences on on a return
this season. I think Greg will tell you that the
plan and hope would be for him to come back
by the end of the season and kind of do
his own willis reed that does the quote that he
gave me shortly, you know, the day after the injury,
before the surgery, that that was the hope that he had.
He had dreams of Willis Reid popping out of that

(12:39):
that tunnel for the Knicks in nineteen seventy that he
wants Came to do something similar.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
So we will see.

Speaker 6 (12:44):
But there's no there's no obvious replacement for Cam Williams.
It's nothing against Trendoah, Trent's a great player. I'm rooting
for him, but you know, that's a that's a future
first round pick, whether it's this year or next. Came
Williams is a is an awesome talent and awesome athlete
that replacing him is much much much easier said than done,

(13:07):
So I hate it for him. I'm hoping that he's
able to pull off some miraculous recovery and play before
the end of the season. I would love love that
and then just kind of go from there. But it's
next man up mentality. You gotta get Jasper to continue
to keep making shots, got to get Trentona to step up,
keep making shots and hopefully pick up where Cam left off.

(13:27):
But again, that is much easier said than done.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
We will continue this conversation when we come back.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
I think we bubble wrap all the players, just bubble
wrap all of them, because every time we think we
owto something, here comes that old injury bug. But again,
we're gonna have Greg Williams on at eight o'clock or
eleven o'clock, eight o'clock at eleven o'clock to talk about
a little bit more of that. I hope we can't
get Cam back, but we'll continue to show after this.
You're listening to Stockyards Bank Sunday one of Sports Talk

(13:54):
on news Radio six thirty WLAP.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
This is Stockyards Bank Sunday Morning Sports Talk.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Where is it?

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Adviy the lead troop for it to Radio Network on
six point thirty WLAP.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Welcome back Stockyards Bank Sunday Morning Sports stock from Anthony
White along with Larry Valk, Jack Pilgrim and Bo Robinson.
Stockyards Bank is your trusted partner since nineteen oh four,
so head on over to syb dot com for all
your banking and financial needs. Uh, the big thing right

(14:28):
now is the weather. Talk to some friends have been
just please if I cannot stress enough, please stay off
of the roads. I have people friends that are texting
that they cannot get into their driveway.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
So here's the problem.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
You're stuck trying to get into your driveway, which means
you're halfway in the street or maybe out someone coming
down the street.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
When it's ice, your car does not stop. So the
less people on.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
The street, the less opportunity for there to be any
type of bumpers for cars or I mean anything even
more serious. So please stay off the road unless you
have to get off to use your emergency procedures and
first responders if there's medical or those because the less

(15:15):
people on the road, there are vehicles that they can
utilize to.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Get to you.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
But I do know that there are a lot of
people that when I'm telling you, someone that I know
or people that I.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Know have or they are first responders.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
There are people trying to get home from work because
they cannot call off, they have to be there, and
they again have problem getting in and out of their driveway,
which is pretty rough. So stay off the street so
that the emergency vehicles can maneuver about the community and
take care of those in need. I know, Larry Vo,
did you utilize emergency procedures last winter storm or.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
You just snowed in the ice storm in two thousand
and that no.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Last year, the last year you told me you had
some issues, and you had I thought you had to
use emergency procedures.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Now.

Speaker 5 (16:06):
The only time was the ice storm back sixteen years
ago when we had to finally leave town because we
did we didn't have any electric for over a week,
any power, so we finally had to leave town. But
then the big storm back in nineteen seventy seven where
we had just an abundance of snow, I mean feet
of snow, but we never had the ice and none

(16:28):
of us ever lost electricity during that time. I can
actually remember I had a friend and to come over
and cover a UK game one night because we wanted
to go see James Lee. He had a little Volkswagen.
He got one of those little blow torches. We would
drive ten miles stop, get out, cut the ice off
the tires. Driving from Danville to Lexington, a distance of

(16:49):
about thirty eight miles to rep Aarna, we saw one
car on the.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
Road seventy seven. I was still, yeah, I was still
I was still cradle. I don't even know if I
was walking at that point.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
I probably walked early, but that makes it Jack pilgrim
like as we stayed before we before we lose you,
kind of get engaged. I know, is All Miss that
bad of a team? I know we held them in
thirty two percent shooting. We on a five game swing,
and the SEC man we turn this thing around before
the Cam Williams injury injury, there's a lot going good

(17:27):
for it seemed like we may have turned up the
notch on defense and may have been a level to
play on the other side of on the other side
of the court. What what says you, Jack, before we
before we leave you, before we lose you.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
No, All Miss is not a bad team.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
They are in that middle of middle of the road
SEC group that has like ten people in it right now.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
So they are they are fine. They are not good.

Speaker 6 (17:54):
They're not bad, and we're not gonna apologize for when
in any form or fashion, however it looks whatever the
execution was down the stretch and all that. Like, I
think there is a lot to like about kind of
backs against the wall, rock fight, ugly, ugly shots aren't falling,

(18:16):
foulfest free throw contest the way we saw yesterday, and
then just kind of doing just a little bit more
than the competition, Colin Chandler coming up big Otega away,
going into takeover mode at whatever it took defensive stops.
You know, they really are finding an identity of just hey,
we're gonna do whatever it takes, because that was the

(18:37):
biggest knock on them earlier in the season, is like, hey,
where's the heart? Where Why does it feel like we
care about this stuff more than you guys care about
this So for them to kind of move past that
old identity of not having the want to to, now
everything they do feels like they want to. I think
that's that is a recipe for success. And it didn't
it doesn't matter who Kentucky. They're like, they're not gonna

(18:58):
go undefeated the rest of the year. They will, they
will lose games. But I have a hard time believing
that they're going to let go of the rope and
just totally just act like they don't care, they don't
want to be out there anymore.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
I feel like this team's.

Speaker 6 (19:10):
Really locked in and engaged on that purpose, the greater
purpose that we've all been kind of begging them to
them to have.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
So I don't this team's not great.

Speaker 6 (19:20):
They're not gonna you know this isn't a national championship favor.
You know, we hope that they could go on a
run and make things interesting, but I like where things
stand right now, in the momentum they're picking up.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
That is Jack Pilgrim State Warms. Stay safe, stay covering
the cats. We will be back after this. You listen
to Stockyards Bank Sunday Wanning Sports Talk on news radio
six thirty WLAP.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
This is Stockyards Bank Sunday Mornings sports Talk, presented by
the lead troupe Boards Radio Network on six thirty w LAP.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Welcome back Stockyards Bank Sunday one of sports Talk. I'm
Anthony White along with Larry Bought and Bill Robinson. Our
Sunday one of sports Talk has brought to you by
Country Boy Brewing. And the weather is weathering there Southern Kentucky.
It is funny, Larry Vault. As long as I've lived here,

(20:10):
I've always known eastern and western Kentucky. I always thought
what happened in north to south because where I'm from, Ohio.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Is a big one.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
I guess squarish type. If you were to take the
corners there would be like a squarest type state. So
everything is northern or southern and you look at the
state of Kentucky.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
It is left and right, it is east and west.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Big, so everybody else talking about east and west, but
they're saying, on uh, there's over thousands out of electricity
in southern Kentucky, which I've never heard of, the term
southern Kentucky, which is what we are praying for those people,
and keep taking the hits all of the time. But you,
I think bow may and not bow Jack may have.

(20:53):
He may have jinked some people by wanting to say
that he was not impressed by the storm. And I
think Mother Nature said, hold my beer.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
Yeah, he's sitting in the hot tub, not impressed by
the storm. He's just toning Mother Nature and those of
us who because that ice storms get our ice worries
are getting closer and closer to where I am.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yeah, well I was.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
I would. I don't. I don't give empty promises.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
If I could, I would come take care of you,
Larry Water and make sure that make sure you're in
the missus and and everything gets situated. But man, I
don't even think I'll be able to get out of
my own driveway.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
Well, hopefully my son and daughter in law have an
emergency plan for me. I don't even want to share
it on air because you'll make fun of me for
what the emergency plan might be, and you might just
tell me it's just an early indicator of where I'm
going soon anyway. But I think I've got a backup
plan if it does come on.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Man, Well, what is really going on out there with
the weather that you hear?

Speaker 4 (22:01):
As of right now, I've not been able to look
out the side of the studio to see what is happening.
But as I mentioned in the last hour, we are
going through this transitional phase where we are going to
end up with one to two inches more of snow
and then possibly a tenth of an inch or a
quarter of an inch of ice. So you're going to
get snow and then ice on top of that. With

(22:23):
the cold weather coming in, the cold temperatures, everything's just
going to refreeze. As I'm looking at the temperature, we're
hovering around the freezing point. We're going to get snow
if we're under that freezing point at thirty two degrees,
and then everything's going to turn into this wintery mix.
It's an ice slop out there. Basically, That's what's going
on and the light freezing rain coming in later on

(22:45):
this afternoon, more light snow, and as we're getting all
this snow and ice piling on each other, that's going
to affect the electricity. And we're starting to see more
power outages throughout southern Kentucky, Anthony, there's that term again,
Southern Kentucky and even west of Lexington down the Bluegrass Parkway.
We're starting to see power outages in Elizabethtown, Columbia, Jamestown,

(23:06):
Russell Springs straight down seventy five, Somerset, throughout Pulaski County, Harrisburg,
Mercer County, Larry. Things are getting a little close to you,
London and Corbin, and even Whitley City as far as
South Kentucky down seventy five as the morning continues on.
As the day continues on, suspect we're going to see
more power outages throughout the state.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
That ain't what I wanted to hear. Maybe that's why
we have our show in the morning. That way we
get before our electricity goes.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
And you can have it in the afternoon, because I
don't think I'm going anywhere.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Oh so we're going to extend. So what if the
other people came broadcast. Can we keep going?

Speaker 4 (23:44):
I got to make a few phone calls to see
what I could actually possibly.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
We suppose to have women's basketball. There'supposedly women's basketball. So
we can do another two three hours if you want.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
You know, at some point I've got to take a
break and have lunch and take care a few things too.
So Jeff Jeff Ruby, Jeff's not.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Going to be open tonight, you don't think so.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
I did read and I don't know if this is
true or not, because I know a lot of places
downtown were closing at nine o'clock last night. But I
did read something about a couple of businesses expected to
be open this morning and the owners were and this
was just message board fodder that the owners were going
to go pick up their employees and bring them to

(24:29):
work this morning. Now, as far as the grocery store
is meers Kroger, I don't know really what's going on
with all that. I haven't had any reports of any
stores being closed as of right now.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
Bo.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
I will tell you as a as a former manager,
I'm an administrator at this point, but as far as
a former manager, when we had ice storms here, I
always had an SUV. I had a four by four,
had Lincoln Navigator for years, many years.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
I had that joke for twenty two years. I had
from my twenties into my forties.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
But like that, the point is when I called my
everybody's calling, and this has happened for I was the
only person in the building running retail. Well, I need
one of you. At least someone can come run a
registered because there are people coming out because they need necessities.
I worked at a pharmacy, so there are people who

(25:21):
needed their medication. There are people in are you know,
at a convenience store. Things are a lot more expensive
than anywhere else. And I would tell them I will
come get you. I do need we shut the store
down for thirty minutes. I will come get I wouldn't
I would, well, I can't get it. So the managers,
people who have to running business, will come get their employees.

(25:42):
So that is something that does typically happen, but I
did not. No one would ever came and get me,
or no one would let me allow me to come
and get them.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
We opened about seven.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Thirty eighties, so I'm thinking maybe around fourish I can
get Do you realize bou Robinson. I have to work
seven thirty to eleven PM all by my and you
get it, and you might. And the craziest thing that
you may get fifteen or twenty customers in a whole
day and you're like, yeah, you feel kind of good
because you kept the store open and there was opportunity

(26:16):
for people to get the necessities they needed. But the
overhead that you lost and the money you spent that day,
you took a huge loss. When you look at you,
you're playing or whatever, so well appreciate that.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
We go. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
I wanted to say as far as healthcare workers, if
they can't get out and they cannot get to their
place of employment, if they cannot get to their job,
they do have an option. The founder of camp Hero,
his name's Rocco. He has this huge four four dodge ram.
He calls it the Beast, and he's offering free rides
to healthcare workers if they can't get out of their driveway,

(26:54):
if they can't get to their place of employment. It's
a really nice gesture on Roco's part and camp Hero.
If you are a healthcare worker and you need to
get to work, whether it's a hospital, pharmacy, here is
his number. Text only six oh six four seven one
three one eight five, leave your name, address, day time,
and place of employment when you need to be there.

(27:15):
And you can also download the snow ride app. And
this is only within Fayette County. So for Fayett County residents,
Camp Hero providing rides for our healthcare workers to get
them to work. So a big w lap Sunday morning
salute to Rocko and Camp Hero and his crew helping
out the healthcare workers getting them to work.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Give me one more time that number both that number one.
You know we're in this industry you speak. That's why
I typically try and give our phone number a little slower.
Mark Burger used to do it.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Fast, even me sitting on the other side of the
desk from him, like what was that number? You just
gave one more time to number?

Speaker 4 (27:47):
Okay, camp Hero and this number goes to Rocko, the
founder of camp Hero. So if you need a ride
healthcare workers, only that number. You can text six oh
six for seven to one, three to one eight and
he'll pick you up in the Beast and it is
an awesome looking truck. It'll help you out, it'll get
you to where you need to be.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
At it'll take you to Jeff Rubys.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
Well, you stop with Jeff Ruby.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
Larry bo. One thing I want to stop with is
what will Stein is doing.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
I know we're gonna get to Greg Williams at the
top of the hour, but we ain't did a whole
lot of football talk. And you know all my podcasts
On Wednesday nights nine to ten, we'll have Van Howees
on at eleven thirty to talk about his thoughts on
women's basketball as well as the direction we're going and
UK football. I know Stein spoke this week and I

(28:41):
don't know if you know this behind the scenes, and
I'm gonna wait till this made public because this is
here say and I don't really do hear say Stein
is trying to bring back the alumni and trying to
provide some things for alumni, which when you hear it,
if it is what I've heard, you were gonna you're
gonna wipe your head and say, wow, that is huge,

(29:03):
because if you think about it, you you know what
the biggest highlight for me was on the National championship game.
Kudos and shout out to Indiana University, who's never beat me,
because all my high state friends are talking about how
old Kentucky's not a football school. But I have never
lost to Indiana. So when you lose Indiana, then you can't.

(29:24):
You don't have bragging rights with me. But Larry Vault
will Stein is doing some things behind the scenes. In
front of the scenes, he is catching the attention to
the national football College football pungents just kind of want
to see what you thought, But I do, and maybe
you have heard them. You don't have to give details
because I'm not certain it is slidified yet. But he's

(29:47):
reaching out to alumni and making alumni feel welcome back,
and the biggest way because when I watch the National
Championship game, all I got images of is Michael Irvin.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
I don't know. Maybe you enjoy it, you and my
You think you're gonna get on the sideline.

Speaker 5 (30:02):
You think you gonna get on the sideline next year.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
I see it coming.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
No, no, no, it is that he's alone, proud of
his program. Oh I don't want to get on the
sideline because last time I was ever whenever you get
on the sideline, you hold him to a certain decorum.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Michael, you gotta find parking, huh.

Speaker 5 (30:20):
Michael Irban Hotel ray Lewis, they were a millionaire.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
Mike Garber's a mirror that he could have got drone.
He could got dropped in by a drone on the sideline.

Speaker 5 (30:32):
That's true, you know so, But yes, science press conference
was interesting.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
I enjoyed it.

Speaker 5 (30:36):
I thought he did a really good job for his
first because the first thing I didn't really consider a
press conference that was a celebration when he's there and
you were kind of living on what you could ask
and this is more like a real setting with him.
I thought he did a really good job answering the questions.
Was really happy with what he said about our buddy,
Amir Stewart. I was just curious why he decided anwar
was the one gallon staff he wanted to keep, and

(30:56):
I thought he had a really good answer that you
and I would up your totally agreed to it. But
he talked about a lot of different things. I don't
know how often Will's gonna talk to the media. I'm
gonna guess maybe not quite as often as Mark Stoops did,
but we'll see.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
I will tell you this, Larry Vaught and in this
simple math to me and like an war is my boys,
so no matter what happens. There's been certain points of
his career here I feel like he'd be better off
somewhere else because I still at this point think he's undervalue,
and Will may make that something because you gotta win
in the trenches. When Georgia was winning their championships, they

(31:34):
they did get some office of power with Brock Bauers
and those guys, but those were all tied.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Is It wasn't like it was receivers doing it. It wasn't
running backs, but their defensive line linebackers. Alabama was always
defensive line linebackers.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
It was those trenches where they were winning the battles.
I will say this, and I don't know who did
the question. It sounded like your voice. I saw the video.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
It looked it felt like it looked like is.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Coming from a vault fingers, like it was a little
vault fingers doing the video. My point is this, and
this has nothing to do with vault Sunday Morning Sports Talk.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
Any of that.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
That Will Stein did a solid by keeping Ann war
Somebody who knows the coach or knows the program, knows
the lead of land there. This is my thoughts, and
not because I'm his friends, because I watch football.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
There's not four other defensive line.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
Coaches that you could have gotten, And if there are
three other that are better, then they are solid.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
Where they're at. Do you believe that they could have
found another defensive line coach, even if he could, you
have found a top five defense line coach, or maybe
don't think Anward is the top five defense line coach.

Speaker 5 (32:46):
Well, don't you be putting those words about it?

Speaker 3 (32:48):
I asked you.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
I'm saying you said, you said he did a good
job by keeping them here. I'm saying the other two
or three that may have been above him are probably
at universities that they weren't leaving anyways, So why not
just keep them when you got If he's top five?

Speaker 5 (33:06):
Well, because football coach and coaches in general, that don't
always do what makes sense. So that's why I'm impressed.
Sometimes they's like to start completely over. And that's why
I did ask the question just to see what his
answer would be, and it was the answer was what
you would expect it to be.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
And you are right.

Speaker 5 (33:24):
That was my grandson Kobe that posted all those videos
for me, for himself and for me from the press
conference so the people could see some of the different things.
But yeah, I think he gave the exact right answer
that you would expect for vandor. Yeah, it's good as
somebody on staff, but he can flat out coach. That's
why I wanted it, and I think that's the most
important thing to remember. The production, his staff, his players

(33:47):
have had and I hope they are going to be
able to do that again again. They brought in some
guys in the transferred portal. They lost some guys in
today's world, I never really know to actually get to
see them play. We wanted to see them much in
the spring. So you'll be still setting here in June
and July. Skil me what I think I'll still be saying.
I gotta wait September. I don't have any idea.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
And that's where I'm at because everyone keep basketbab He's
bringing in some dudes, some stuffs.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (34:12):
And man, for two or three years, Man, I've been
extremely optimistic. I'll give them opportunity. Will doesn't deserve the
same respect I gave Stoops. I'm not sitting down on
the negative end. I'm saying I've had to eat crow
quite a bit because they didn't perform at that level.
I'm giving Will a mulligin, and I think Will is
going to bring these guys in and do what they.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
Have to do. I just need to see it before
I say it. We'll be back after this.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
You're listening to Stockyards Bank Sunday Morning Sports Talk on
News Radio six thirty WLAP.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
This is Stockyards Bank Sunday Morning Sports Talk, presented by
the lead Troop Bords Radio Network on six thirty WLAP.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
Welcome back Stockyards Bank Sunday Morning Sports Talk on Anthony
White along with Bo Robinson and Larry Vaught. This hour
Sunday one in Sports Talk is brought to you by
a Country Boy Brewing and anybody. I probably shouldn't say
this on air, but we don't have a whole lot
of time.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
I shouldn't say this on.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Air, but anybody who's worried about Larry Vaught, do not
worry about Larry Valker. He has a contingency plan. Larry Foters.
Your contingency plan allowed to be made public?

Speaker 5 (35:18):
No, because I don't want people to react this related
you did, but I tell.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
You, okay, so we're not gonna make it public. But
don't worry about Larry Vaught, because if his electricity goes out,
we got a plan for him. Now we might not
see him again on Sunday Morning Sports Talk or talk
to him on Sunday Morning Sports Buck, but he will
be taking care of and he will be done great things. Uh,
Larry Vought, I do know enough.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
At the next hour we have, we'll have Greg Williams
only talk about the update we can and the conditions,
even the conditions don't know where they are.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Is is pretty terrible.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
But the conditions of our Kentucky football program right now, larrybody,
I know you said, there's not a whole lot of
and before we went to break, everybody's asking me to
comment on it.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
Everybody's asking me to comment on it. And I can't believe.
I'm would you. I don't want to overestimate or underestimate
what will Sein's gonna be able to do for a dude,
but is uh you can you comment on it?

Speaker 2 (36:21):
I know you said you don't know what you're gonna expect,
but all the acquisitions they are making and all these things.

Speaker 5 (36:27):
I mean, I like it on paper, it looks good,
but again, what we've seen in the past, as you
noticed or mentioned the past couple of years. Sometimes you
what you think you're getting on paper and what you
get in reality don't always turn out to be the
same thing. So I mean, in fairness, I didn't know
how the coaches could know right now, he didn't even
know really what ty Brant could do. And he gets

(36:48):
on the field and you're watch him play on film,
but still he's got different coaches. You want to see
what he can do. So they've got basically a whole
new coaching staff, whole new team. We're not gonna be
to watch them any all summer. They're gonna tell us
how good they're gonna be, and then we'll find out
when the season starts. I'm not gonna let you get
me over excited. You up my hype meter last year.

(37:10):
I'm gonna stay kind of count in that mode. I
gotta see it to believe it.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
I like that running back room, so I'm cool with that.
I like the running back room. They secure in the
front offensive line, so everybody running backs getting a second chance.
I'm all second chance you when it comes to running backs.
When we come back, we have Greg Williams on. We
will talk about Cam and what is going on with
him and hopefully we'll get him back soon.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
We'll be back after this year.
