(00:00):
Can you hear me? Ah?There you go? Now Ken are you
doing? Brother? I was doingsomething wrong? I had my mind said
it was muted for some reason.I'm sorry. Now, I'm not used
to Zoom conversations with rock stars. Is weird for you? Oh? Yeah?
Man? The day of talking onthe phone or passe. I guess

(00:22):
it's the new technology. That's whyI'm when you got the invite. It's
not even my name because I don'teven have a Zoom account. So I
had my girl fire hers up.You sound like me because I don't know
anything about it. My wife hadto do this for me. I didn't
think I looked like Michelle. DoI exactly? Maybe a s if you're

(00:43):
a few drafts? Man? How'severything going? He today? Good Man?
Just suck. Got home getting readyto go down to the lake and
pick up a couple of CDs CDOsbefore we leave for the seven Dust Party
listening party next week to Florida. So I got a couple of days down
there for Father's Day. I sawthat on the website. So at a
listener party, people kind of buytheir spot and then they hang out with

(01:07):
you guys for an extended period oftime. As opposed to like the backstage
meet and greet where I throw myarm around, you take a picture and
disappear. So these these two days, what will happen is they'll be able
to listen to the album and itsentirety, Yeah, hang out, chat,
and then we'll probably get on stageand do like, you know,
four or five acoustic songs. ButI don't think they want to do that,
but they said it'll be fun,so we'll get up there and jam,

(01:30):
and I'm like, they want tohear the new album, let's play
that again forms Yeah, So anyway, we're gonna get up there and rock
it out. But it's gonna befun. It's in Orlando, and I've
taken the whole family down there. We've got an airbnb, so we're gonna
turn it into a Florida trip,So it'll be fun. That is really
cool, man. When you canturn work into some good family time and
some pleasure, it's like you're noteven working. Yeah, it's just gonna

(01:51):
be exciting and the kids are excitedtoo, so it's gonna be fun.
Yeah. You may notice I'm inmy home studio. I haven't gone back
to work since I never got thememos saying I'm back. So I've been
doing my show. I've been doingmy morning show from the house and you're
out in the studio. Is nice. Man. I'm in my bar right
now, so we do I workhere. I've been doing the zooms every
day, right My son's been goingto baseball camp from nine into eleven thirty.

(02:15):
Yeah, and I start doing zoomsat eleven o'clock, so you know,
sometimes like three o'clock. And soit's been it's been crazy, but
it's been international, so it's beengreat. So lets me know that something's
good going on with signing with Napalmand the energy that's out there with the
new album and the new singles.I'm excited about the new tours that we
were announcing, and it seems likeit's a good time for us right now,

(02:37):
if the music period for all ofus. I just watched the video
for Everything, and man, all, I just thought to myself the whole
time, passion, Passion, thewhole time. Thanks from the beginning to
the end. It's just like you'rehearing a really good story and you know,
honestly, I'm not kissing your butt. I couldn't look away. It's

(02:58):
just fun, seems seeing you guyslook at yourselves in the mirror and the
different expressions and whatnot, right downright down to the details of the wallpaper
in the room you're in. Everythingwas Yeah, what was that like?
It was a fun video. Itwas a fun video. And actually,
man, the first video Fence,we were like, man, we don't
want to be in the video. We're not ready to be in the video,

(03:19):
you know, we don't want tobe seen. And that video turned
out great with the claymation. Ican't wait. I want to do that
again so much. Nostalgia just remindedme of adult Swim. But then Napalm
asked us to go in and doa video or like, dang it,
they want to see us. Yeah, and we went in and we actually
did three videos. So there's twomore that are going to be out that
I that I'm excited about that youactually see us alive in a setting and

(03:42):
there were different setups in that studio, so even the next video is even
cooler, I think in a sense. Yeah, So it was really fun
and he wasn't a director that hadyou in there from eight o'clock in the
morning until like two o'clock. Inthe morning. It was like he got
his thing and you know, atthe local restaurant by six already. I'm
like, man, this guy again, Yeah exactly. It was a fun

(04:04):
experience, man. And then, like I said, being with Napalm,
I forgot that people got signed anymore. So it's been just far a really
cool working relationship with them. Youknow, having someone behind you and pushing
in out and making sure that thingshappen is good. It's like I said
when I when I watched the video, I was like, man, these
guys never sounded better. And we'vebeen friends and fans of years over at

(04:26):
Sea one O one since the beginningof time. We did a meet and
greet one time where y'all sat inthe conference room and ate like I don't
know, it was like Italian foodor something y'all have, and you had
all of our listeners there and whatnot. I have to say that was,
you know, it had to belike twenty years ago. Wow. And
the pressures of staying in shape asa band, because all of you guys
look like you're in peak physical conditionevery time I see you. You guys

(04:50):
look like y'all look like you justcame out of the gym or something.
It's got to be. Now,we're trying to keep it in shape.
I feel like these kids, ourkids. Man, my kids are running
around like blue chicks, their headcut off. I'm somewhere everywhere. I
haven't been able to go to thegym. I'm like, jeez, I
gotta do some push ups out hereat soccer practice. Anyway. We know
we've been lucky, you know,to try to keep in shape. That's

(05:11):
something that's important to us. All. You know, you got like John
Conley running the Boston Marathon and nowhe's getting ready to do the Iron Man
thing. Yeah, and so youknow that, you know, and I
feel like too that the stage isa good workout for us. For that
hour or however long we're on thatstage and sweating bringing it out, that's
a good workout. But yeah, definitely, we even said it years and
years ago. Seven us as asport, so we try to I guess

(05:31):
we try to be a little bitof athletic athletes two in this game.
It's also the pressure for you becauseyou know, at some point during that
show that shirt's coming off. Imean, you know, I'm fifty years
old now, so I'll be takingmy shirt. I stopped taking a shirt
off a long time ago when Istarted when I realized that I was old,
I'm like, I don't know whowants to see that? It gets

(05:53):
harder. Man, I'm fifty sixand so oh wow, I would have
thought that. Man, that's thenew thirties for us. Man, I've
been cranking it up see one onone for thirty three years. Now.
Well that's a blessing congratulations, whichis nutty. I have to tell you.
I do a thing I call songswap in the morning where if a
song a song comes up and Idon't want to hear it again, and

(06:14):
I always put in like seven dustor like I just had Wolfgang. I
did one of these with him theother day. I'll throw in you know
something from you know, the musicthat I actually enjoy and the stuff that
I really want to hear. AndI swapped out a song and did a
seven dust tune this morning for thesong swap. So yeah, that's awesome,
man, Wolofee Man. I can'twait to finally tour with him,

(06:35):
man, and with Mammoth and AltarBridge here in August. That's gonna be
a great run for us. Yeah, he's excited about it too. I
just talked to him on Zoom likelast week. And so it's alter Bridge,
seven Dust, Mammoth, Wolfgang vanHalen of course, August nineteenth,
The Ponds and Kings Tour. Whothinks of these names for these things?
Well, that was definitely alterra Bridge'scamp on matt One. That's a great

(06:57):
name too, but you know, normally the headliner thing. So the name
of the tour the Ponds and KingsTour, and you went, I can
go with that like I like it. You know, our brother is an
Altar Bridge and man, we lovethose guys. It's just gonna be a
fun like family affair when we goout there with him, and then we'll
be out there too, kind ofyou know, watched him grow up and
you know him be a fan andfamily with us. It's really awesome.
The beard is this is it?How How far are we going? Man?

(07:19):
This? You have developed quite thequite the beard there. Yeah,
that's the that's the uh. I'mtrying to look more like my dockel Ganger
here. No, I just hadI hadn't shaved. Man. We've been
going down to the lake and beingon the boats and stuff and it's cool.
Now that's the condo down there,so I hadn't really do anything.

(07:40):
The wife's all of each other's like, why don't you make an appointment before
the listening party and actually come.I don't know. I think I put
a couple of beards and do it. Jack Sparrow. Since it's a listener
party on the water, I feellike it kind of hides me a little
bit. That's awesome, man.Well, it's been great talking to you.
We're looking forward to seeing you guysalter Bridge seven Dust. Of course.

(08:01):
Man, you've got some huge fansin Corpus Christie. There's a there's
a guy Chris that he one ofour listeners and one of your fans.
Chris. He posts pictures of youguys. He goes and sees you guys.
I think backstage, like every show, it's amazing. Oh man,
you know what. I love CorpusChristie and growing up playing there and then
going by the water all the time. It was always a beautiful place,

(08:22):
man. I love it. AndI would always go take pictures about the
Sealina statue down there and yeah,uh, what's the name of that one
spot that we would play the outsideVine y'all did a Concrete Street ampitheater.
Yeah, y'all have done that onebefore. There was one day I was
actually running with my girlfriend downtown andy'all parked your tour bus and you guys

(08:43):
all got out of the tour busand I was running with her and I
stopped. I went, I knowyou guys, and you went seven dust
and I was like, oh mygod, I'm Rex from C one on
one. And then y'all that y'allare trying to figure out where a Water
Street oyster bar was. I waslike, yeah, do remember that streets
that way? Awesome? I rememberI love that bar. Let's see.

(09:03):
All right, So has that thatbeen you you're talking about the concrete is
it still there? Yeah, ConcreteStreet amphathea. That's where you guys are
playing this time, also at oldConcrete Street. So what's the restaurant?
What's the restaurant right down the endlike at the shipyard. It was like
a there's a little bar. There'slike a railroad, railroad seafood station down
there. There's it's a cool place. I just know I'll be there,

(09:26):
having me a cold, being ashot of yeager. Yeah, what's up?
So we'll find you either before orafter. After you find me after
because that on that too, Ilove it. I get you know,
we get to play in the middle, so we have time to go to
your local Applebee's. It's Fridays byyou know, So that's good man.
