Speaker 1 (00:05):
And we are just six days away from the NFL
trading deadline, so scary. And so today, uh, since we
are within these windows, we're gonna go trader treating today.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Trader treating A.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Thank you for your enthusiasm. Dracula appreciate that one. So yeah,
so I'm gonna We're gonna go trader treating here today.
We're gonna go around the neighborhood knocking on various doors,
and maybe some we won't knock on. Maybe it won't
even be worth our time.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
We know the.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Reputation of our neighbors. I mean, we also always feared
about the Leonards giving us razor blades.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Oh yeah, you gotta always check here, Yeah, I gotta.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
For sure. Actually they were the popcorn ball givers.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Oh you could put a razor blade really easily into
a popcorn ball though corn way easier than an.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Oh they were delicious, amazing. We always saved it for
the last thing. We always went to the Leonard's last.
They had a one eyed dog and the best popcorn
balls you've ever had in your life.
Speaker 5 (01:12):
Razor blades and popcorn balls.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
I would have even eaten one with a razor bleaed
I've just eaten around them.
Speaker 5 (01:17):
Yeah, that's what you do, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
So, uh, here we go. These are some possibilities that
John Schneider confronts here six days till the NFL trading deadline.
We have no idea what he's going to do, but
my guess is he's going to be an active participant
in the holiday. That is my guess. There is the
do nothing package, or as I like to call it,
the apple and floss package. Well, it's good for you
(01:43):
to get an apple, I get it, doctor Schneider. You
know a prudent choice. Apples are and they're by themselves delicious.
Flossing is an essential and long term key to dental health,
but it's not fun and it certainly doesn't celebrate the
trade deadline season. So I'm asking you, you're gonna go
(02:03):
to doctor Schneider's house for trade and treat if all
he's gonna do is just stan pat and basically give
you apple and flossy.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
No, No, that's not where I would want to go.
Speaker 6 (02:14):
I would skip that house if they saw King sized
Rees's across the street, for sure.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
But from a trade perspective, like if he did nothing.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah, I'm still going to skip that house. So no,
that's not what I'm interested.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
In, not going to go to doctor Schneider's house. So yeah,
I don't think that I'm I'm not. I don't think
this team has some big, giant, glaring need that they
have to address here at the trading deadline. And I
don't think that they have to move Rik Wooln. I
don't think any of the either of those things are necessary.
(02:48):
Maybe you could use an offensive lineman if you're John Schneider,
but they're very difficult to get. I mean, teams are
already having difficulty via injuries, having enough offensive lineman, so
it's a difficult thing to find a quality offensive lineman.
Then you have to introduce them into your scheme, so
(03:10):
that one's tricky. And I don't know if you have
to have a pass rusher. I don't know if you
have to have defensive secondary help. And yet if you
didn't do anything, it just wouldn't feel like trade deadline season.
It wouldn't feel like John Schneider was still our general manager.
So no, I don't I'm not interested in they do
(03:31):
nothing category here. I want to see what John Schneider
can pull out to improve this football team.
Speaker 6 (03:37):
Well, I think the team's good, and yet you're not.
It's not like you're three games ahead of other people
in your division.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
I mean you're.
Speaker 6 (03:44):
Ahead because of a bye week and San Francisco losing.
You have the Rams. I think maybe you can say
you're definitely going you're a better club than the Cardinals,
but you're a three team race in these final what
nine games of the season, And so to me, I
would want to be improving. It's not like there's not
a couple places. Right guard in particular is one that
(04:05):
I probably would want to upgrade if I could.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Oh, I think they would want to upgrade it. I
just don't know if offensive linemen are going to be
thrown around all that easily at the trading deadline. If
one is there that does represent an upgrade, then yeah,
I think I would be interested, but I'm not sure
if the market is going to provide that all right.
Second option, I like to call this a three Musketeers
(04:30):
for a candy to be named later house, Okay, and
that is move Reek Woolen for a fifth round pick.
Even though your first place, and even though your buyers
you have a commodity that does not seem to be
working for you organizationally, you have your secondary healthy again,
(04:50):
and riek Woland's probably going to be on the outside
looking in in terms of playing time. Sure, you might
risk a little depth if you move away from riek Wolin.
But there might be another team out there that really
likes three Musketeers, like really likes three Musketeers. There are people,
and it might not be your taste. You might not
(05:12):
want to three Musketeers. Maybe you're looking to move all
your three Musketeers bars, but there might be somebody out
there that that's their favorite. We'll put it will freeze
them really good later frozen. And so this is what
you'd be taking advantage of. Potentially giving away a treat
you don't personally like right now, but the kid you're
(05:34):
going to trade it to he really likes that player,
and so who knows what you end up with in
this trade. Maybe you eventually get to draft a tutsi role,
you know, next year, maybe you can turn that into
two tutsi roles in the draft process. But right now,
you're moving off from something that you don't really like
right now to get something that maybe you'll like in
(05:57):
the future from someone who would like what you don't.
Speaker 6 (06:01):
Like, yeah, the idea of moving on from something that
maybe you feel like you have a surplus of right now,
without a crystal ball of knowing whether or not you
would need that later, you're you know, maybe you just yeah,
you've had too many three musketeers. You're just over it.
And somebody else is like, wait, I haven't had one
in years. I'll take that, bad boy. I think that
(06:22):
if there's a way where you could do that, where
you could move him, if it's just for a draft pick,
then I think you're you're looking at the we're going
to gain something in the future, and we're losing some
insurance in the backside, some depth in the backside. That
to me feels a little bit risky. If you could
get something, even if it's something that maybe you don't need,
(06:43):
maybe it's just a maybe it's another pass rusher, a
defensive lineman that you enter into that rotation that is
looking good right now. But it's something you could enter
into that equation and just make it even better and deeper,
then that makes a little bit more sense to me.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Well, what if you move him for a pick so
that you didn't lose a pick, and then you took
a pick, and then you added something else as well.
So yes, you're moving a player for a pick, but
you're getting a player that maybe is more beneficial to
what you're using right now, and you don't have to
lose that pick, which they love so much. So yes,
(07:20):
there might be a creative way to do this, but
I really, I mean, I think Riek Willan's going to
have a market. I think a lot of teams need
corner help right now, and maybe as talented as he is,
he just needs a new environment. And if his path
to playing time is stalled here and you're not going
(07:40):
to be able to keep him in the offseason, even
if that's all you did, even if you did become
kind of a seller at the trading deadline, it's certainly
something that I'm kicking the tires on. I'm certainly knocking
on that door to see what kind of treat they
might have in exchange for my treat. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
Absolutely, I mean, especially as we talked about that, he
was rumored to be a possible leaving earlier, So you
got to look at.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
It all, right, what about the old Sour Patch kids
for a Kitcat Bar trade? What if John Schneider traded
a Reek Woolen type for another player. You don't see
this too much at the trading deadline. What if he
just like skipped the whole draft pick. And let's not
get cute about it. The Green Bay Packers could use
(08:23):
cornerback help. I just watched them play Sunday night, and man,
they're not very good. I mean, they're a great team
that not very good at the cornerback position. So what
if they could use that, and yet they have a
surplus of pass rushers. I brought this guy up a
little bit earlier this week. Kingsley Enigbare was supposed to
be a starter for the Green Bay Packers this season,
(08:47):
and he was supposed to be entering and he was
entering the final year of his first contract, just like Wooln.
So he becomes a free agent at the end of
the year. You've already pissed him off by acquiring Micah Parsons.
Taken away is playing time. I mean, he's performing out there.
He's playing for a contract right now. But if you
could take your surplus and then they've got a surplus
(09:09):
of another candy and then you just swap player for player.
You don't see these kind of trades a lot in
the National Football League. You certainly don't see him at
the NFL trading deadline, But we'll give you our surplus
piece to make up for your deficiency. You give us
your surplus piece, and maybe that helps us make up
for our deficiency. Arek Wolan for Kingsley and igbare trade?
(09:32):
Straight up? You're knocking at that house?
Speaker 4 (09:34):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yes, I am. That's see.
Speaker 6 (09:36):
That to me feels better if you're gonna get rid
of somebody that still has some upside.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Let's be real.
Speaker 6 (09:41):
I mean, maybe he's worn out as welcome here and
maybe he never does turn into the guy that he
looked like he was going to become his after his
rookie season. Maybe that's not it, But I think that
the idea of kicking the tires on somebody that might
be interested in his potential while you're kind of he's
worn out as welcome or you know, it's tarnished to
some degree here. I don't want to just do it
(10:04):
for a pick. I understand how valuable picks are, but
I don't want to do it just for a pick,
because to me, you might need him and if you're
not going to have him, but you have a pick,
sitting in your back pocket. I'd rather have somebody somewhere
that adds depth, brings something to the table. This season,
you find yourself in first place, I'm not trying to go.
I'm not trying to stay in the same place. I'm
trying to improve myself because I wouldn't be surprised. I mean,
(10:24):
we have already seen the Rams are making moves, They're
trying to improve themselves. You kind of want to keep
up with the Joneses in that sense, I think.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
And it's the Packers, which John Schneider as a relationship with.
I think that could very well be a hey, why
are we making this complicated? You know, I got a corner,
you need a corner. I could use a pass rusher.
You got an extra pass rusher. Let's just swap these
guys and good luck. If you can get Riek back
to playing the way he did for us as a rookie,
(10:51):
then good for you. And maybe we can get a
lot out of your guy in a different uniform, because
you just for in terms of snap available, you're just
not getting as much use out of them as what
we potentially could. So I like that. I like that
trick or treat I'm knocking at two of the door
three houses I brought.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
Up, So yeah, me too.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
I'm interested. I'm interested in what you got behind that door. People,
all right, last one and this is uh boy, this
is a biggie. I saved it for less for a reason.
How about one of those old trick or treat and
you just get to the front door. I don't think
any kids ever tried this and just says I want
everything in the bowl. Oh, I want everything in your
(11:33):
bo I've tried that, And then just give me that,
and then I promise you I won't go to any
other houses. I'll just retire home to watch scary movies
with mom. Uh And that's the kind of move that
you could make potentially, just say just knock on the
door and just like hey, there's gonna call it quits.
You don't have to worry about me toilet paper in
your house tonight, don't have to worry about me influence
(11:56):
your kids into stealing signs, graffitiing. You give me all
the candy you got, and I'll just go straight home
to mom.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
It depends what. It's not a bull full of smarties? Right?
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Uh? Well?
Speaker 5 (12:09):
Oh yeah? Is it the Varsity ball.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Well, I don't think so. So what I'm talking about
is you go up to the Cleveland Browns house, you
knock on the door, and you say, I'll give you
two first rounders, two third rounders, and boy a mafe
for Miles Garrett. Wow, and then I'll just go home.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
What do you think?
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Yeah, yeah, I'll go ahead and do that.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
You do that one?
Speaker 2 (12:31):
I mean that's a lot. Two first rounds.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
That's a lot because that almost feels like you're getting
the bowl of candy. And then they say come back
tomorrow and wash my cars and clean out the garage.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
What about it? I don't know if I want to
do that.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
The best best defensive player in the league. I mean,
that's going to come at a price. He's by the way,
he's locked up. You don't have to worry about him
coming to free agent anytime soon. Uh. You can figure
out a way to work the cap. They always do.
But you want the best, You want some sort of
true difference maker. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
Plus, if you get rid of your first round picks,
then that eliminates us from having to worry if the
Seahawks are actually going to draft in the first round
or trade their pick on draft days, so you already
know you're not drafting the thig of all the time
it saves you.
Speaker 5 (13:14):
See exactly no exasperation. That's worth a lot.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
I don't think they're gonna move Miles Garrett. I don't.
I think that he probably should have forced the issue
in the offseason. I think he would be with a
good team right now with the same salary right now,
and he seemed to have a leverage in the off season,
and for whatever reason, he was like, no, I'll re
sign with the Browns and I will expect things to change.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
Even though they didn't meet with him, they're not going.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
To change there. So Miles Garrett, right now, in his prime,
maybe he's itching to leave. I don't know if it
would have cost that much, but I think it's going
to be pretty close if you wanted to try to
get a Miles Garrett. John Schneider has never been shy
about going for it. He's made hugely aggressive trades in season.
(14:05):
This would take the cake right here. This is the
old damn Candy Bowl right here. This is not just
the candy Bowl. You can come in and make it
out with my daughter. This is what you're This is
what you're getting in this kind of deal. So Miles Garrett,
would you go knock on that door? No one else
step the prices?
Speaker 6 (14:24):
Yeah, I would, But then again that's just because the
NFL game to me is so much more like when
you're in it. This year, you go, you do things. Now,
this is one that's setting you up. It's setting you
up to have a one of the best, if not
the best pass rusher in the league for the next
few years. I think it's four or five, four years,
(14:45):
I think is what the extension that he signed at
forty million dollars a year. But it's one of those Yeah,
you got a capbologist, they can figure out how to
move that money around. But it's you're still saying this year,
we're sitting in at first place. Right now, we have
a strength up from was stopping the run and actually
I think they're second in the league in sacks. Let's
make it the most feared front, you know, defensive line
(15:08):
that we could possibly have. I think you're you're kind
of putting your stamp on it that this is our
division for the taking at this point in time.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
So I'm in for that because.
Speaker 6 (15:15):
You are trading away a little bit of the future,
possible future, because you don't know for sure what you're
going to get with those picks for now and the
next couple of years to come.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
I'd do it, but I would start with one first
round pick, two thirds in boy A Mavee, and then
see if they took it.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
Yeah, and then I'd be.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
Like, Oh, they don't even know I've got another first
round pick in my back pocket.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Well, I think it would take at least two first rounders,
maybe one third.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
Round first one third.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Yeah, it's going to take at least I mean, top
defendi players. That's fair and think And also this is
also part of it. If I'm the Seahawks, if I'm
John Schneider, I don't think I'm going to have high
first round picks the next couple of years. Yeah, I
believe in what I've got going on here, And if
I had Miles Garrett, I'm even or convinced of what
I've got going on. So two late first round picks,
(16:05):
a third round pick, and a player that seems to
have maybe worn out as welcome a little bit as
they're waiting on him to reach his potential. Oh yeah,
I'm doing that. I'm doing that. This is This is
not Jamal Adams, that's for damn. This is Miles freaking Garrett. Yeah,
and he's playing as well now as he's ever played
(16:25):
in his entire career. And what might he do with
a with a franchise that actually knows what they're doing
with the possibilities.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Yeah, he had like five sacks, that's all.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Yeah, no big deal.
Speaker 5 (16:36):
He's only really really good all right.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Coming up next, Al Kiniski will join US Sports Radio
ninety three point three kJ A R f M. It
(17:01):
was about the most exciting come from behind point I've
seen the Crack and Register in their young history last night,
taking on the Montreal Canadians, losing three to nothing in
the third period, whack whack, whack, Brandon Montor just went
to work on the halbs, ended up tying the thing up,
sending it into overtime, where Montreal eventually won four to three.
(17:22):
But the Crack and Do get a point out of it,
and joining us now to discuss it is color analyst
for your Seattle cracking. Right here on the flagship kJ R.
Al Kanisky is with us. Good morning out, ay, Al.
Speaker 6 (17:38):
Al's really really quiet today, really Yeah, it's like so
Quie can hardy, but I can't even hear him.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
I hope everything's all right with Al there he is, Al,
how are you boys? Good morning, Great to chat with you.
I mean, I don't know, you tell me. I mean,
I don't know if hockey players ever just get on
the bus and yes, great point, fellas. I'm sure, Hey,
that was an awesome win and they feel good about it.
(18:05):
I don't know if they go to the point of
recognizing how great a point they got even though they
lost the game. You tell me, is that something that
you're celebrating last night in the locker room that you
somehow pulled out a point at least in that game
against the Canadians.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
It's like parking at Costa on Saturday. Sometimes you drive
up and down the aisles and you never find a
parking spot, but eventually you get one. And sometimes you're
just patient. You're helping people with their groceries and look,
there's a parking spot right at the front. I think
that was the game last night. The guys were patient.
They were a little sloppy in the first couple of periods,
(18:43):
but they were patient and they turned it on the
third period. And you know, if I had written the script,
Brandon Montre would have gotten the hat trick for the
winner in overtime. Unfortunately, he settles for three points to
get the guys back in the game with a couple
of goals and a helper and gives them a ants
it a win and overtime.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
But it was a big point.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Unfortunately, it probably should have never gotten to that point
in the game. But was a little sloppy over the
first half.
Speaker 6 (19:09):
Yeah, oh, the I mean the fact that they've fought
and got came back from down three to zero. I mean,
that's obviously is commendable, and yet the first couple of periods,
I'm with you, it felt a little bit sloppy. I mean,
just looking at it. They only had two power plays
and scored on each one. You had four and only
converted on one of those. What was your biggest contention
(19:33):
of the sloppiness that you saw in the first couple
of periods.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
Well, I think in the first couple of periods, first
of all, you're playing a team that is the youngest
in the NHL, and with youth typically comes speed. They're
a fast team and they were using that speed not
only on the attack, but also on the pursuit, meaning
they weren't giving Seattle very much time to make decisions
when they had the puck. And I think it took
the crack and a bit to adjust to that where
they had to start moving the puck quicker, They had
(19:58):
to start looking for longer passes, they had to start
finding some sustained offense of his own pressure and how
they got away from that youth and that speed, And
unfortunately it just took a while to figure out. Montreal
did a good job of pressuring Seattle in their own
D zone, taking away a breakout exits.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
Well, I've already had it up to hear with Cole
Clawfield and we're only like ten games into the season
and like ten minutes into his career. So I mean,
this guy has not just done this to the Kraken.
I mean how special the player are we looking at it?
I mean he's so tiny and yet man is he
fast and skilled and relentless.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Yeah, I mean we talked a little bit about that
in the post game. You know, as far as Joey
Decord goes, who you know has played well over the
last two well since the beginning of the season, and
I think that between the third goal that Montreal scored,
and maybe the overtime goal, which one would he probably
want to have back. Well, he'd say both obviously. But
the third goal was a one timer that kind of
(20:58):
snuck through his five hole. I probably say I could
have gotten more square to that shot and maybe had
that saved. In the case of the overtime goal by
Cole Kawfield, like that is a goal scorers goal. He
comes down that left side, he fakes like he's cutting
to the front, he fakes like he's going around the
back of the net for a wrap round, and then
he stuffs it between the post and Joey Decord's pad
(21:18):
like that, that's an elite goal scorers goal. So if
I'm a goaltender, if I got to get beat I
guess that's the way you've got to beat me. It
never feels good though either way.
Speaker 6 (21:27):
Yeah, I'm with you, And yeah, I mean I know
that in today's game, you know you're not going to
just run one keeper out there every single time. The
Cord has started just about every single game, and yet
the other two Grooby and the one game that Murray
played in they lost those. I mean, is there a
giant difference or is this too early of a sample
size to be deciding whether or not we have a
(21:49):
legit one and maybe a number two, or is it
just too early to decide that.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Yeah, Bucky, I would say that that Joey Decord is
the number one right now. He's going to play the
majority of the games this season, you know, barn any
other health issues or something like that. I think the
big question mark is who is the number two. Both
Grubau and Murray have both played games so far. I
don't think they would say they were their best games,
but I think that you're going to see them get
(22:15):
another opportunity here where we're going to be into the
month of November, Saturday Night versus the Rangers and sometimes
in the probably in the first half of November, you're
gonna see them both get a game again. And I
think how they play in those games might answer that question.
Who the backup is to Joey Decord?
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Al Kaniski is with us. He'll be with us every
Wednesday this year usually works out that way. Color analysts
for your Seattle Crack and right here on the flagship
Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM. Well, let's use
some time on Brandon Montour because that was one of
the most complete games that he's played this year, maybe
(22:52):
he's played since he put on a crack in uniform,
even though he had some great games a year ago.
But for him to come up off the sadness in
his personal life, you can understand why he might have
been a little bit of a hockey rut. But he
came out of it last night and he was sensational.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Wow. Yeah, I mean, just over a week ago he
lost his brother to als, and you know, it's got
to be devastating for him and his family. But I
think that you know, he's done a good job of
trying to compartmentalize his time with his family and getting
back to his team. And I think getting back to
his team has helped him, you know, probably feel a
little bit stronger, and you know, everybody in that locker
(23:33):
room supports him and has given him space. Like he
could have had a crappy game last night, and I
think everybody has said, yeah, I mean I'm not surprised,
but he goes out and puts two goals in the neck,
gets a helper's plus two four shots on goal, like
he you know, second Star of the game, and for
a guy that's been dealing with that, that is so impressive.
It's a leader in the locker room, and I think
(23:53):
the guys really respect the way he came and played
last night.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Don't play again until Saturday, kind of an extra day off.
Could the team use that?
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Right?
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (24:03):
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, you got Jared McCann still out,
you got coppoc although I have a suspicion he might
be back Saturday night. I mean, you know, we're Wednesday, Thursday,
Friday without a game, and then Saturday, his former team
comes to town. I've got to believe he's had that
circle on the calendar for a while and he's gonna
want to play in that. It's the return of Will Morgan,
(24:26):
who has traded to the Rangers last year. So a
couple of good storylines there for Saturday. But yeah, I mean,
if listen, guys, if the playoffs started today, Seattle six
in the Western Conference, the second and behind second behind
Vegas in the Pacific Division, it's crazy to think that
who would make the playoffs today and who wouldn't. I mean,
Tampa Bay would be out of the playoffs right now
(24:47):
if they start today. So it's always fun to look
at that. We're only ten games into the season though,
lots of work to be done, lots of changes will
happen between now and then. But yeah, Saturday, they're gonna
they're going to where their alternates, their alternate jersey that's
been out in the market. They're glowing the dark stuff.
So that's going to be exciting. It's gonna be fun
game Saturday.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Bucky and I have one. Yeah, should we wear them Friday?
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Do you guys the lights out and just kind.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Of oh yeah all the time they look like, yeah, yeah,
we hide and go seek in the dark, always find
and go seek.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
It's terrible sweater, I've come to find out.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Yeah, and yeah, we keep playing over and over and over.
Speaker 4 (25:26):
I keep telling them, but they can't ever find me
because I'm in the dark.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
I told this to ever at dinner day. You know
where they make new sweaters, right where New Jersey New Wow.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Your kids, that's why he's the best color man of
the business people there Jersey.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Well, enjoy a little extra time off this week at home,
which is even extra valuable. Uh, and then we'll be
listening on Saturday night, sir.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
I'm gonna see you guys person next week, plan on it?
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Okay, yeah, I'll coming in. Well, where are going in
the dark jerseys?
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Yeah? Nothing else.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Al Kiniski joining us right here on the Chuck and
Buck in the morning again. Saturday's the next game against
the Rangers at Climate Pledge Arena. They'll drop the puck
at seven o'clock. So, yeah, a little couple extra days
off here, and that's good. He's been playing a lot
of hockey so far this young season. All right, coming
up next week, close out our Wednesday show with one
(26:31):
last thing Sports Radio ninety three point three kJ r
f M. Sorry, one last thing. That's all we got
time for here on this Wednesday. I got three, so
I'm hoping one of you takes at least one of
my three off my plate.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
I don't have one. Do you want to use mine?
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Ashley? Do you have one?
Speaker 5 (26:54):
I want to give a shout out to Aaron Levine.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
He was the yeah yeah again yesterday good barely held on,
didn't didn't succeed in the final jeopardy, but he held on.
Speaker 5 (27:06):
He's back again tonight, go air and go.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
So he won. He's won two in a row.
Speaker 6 (27:12):
Yeah, a little lucky and final Jeopardy last night.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
He got it wrong, but the other guy got it
wrong also.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
Yeah, I just gonna start calling that guy Captain Coy.
I mean, he acted like he just embarrassed himself on
national television when we were talking to him off the air.
And it turns out he's like Ken Jennings.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
Yeah, who knows, maybe he'll be smarter than Jennings. Craziness.
Speaker 6 (27:34):
Yeah, I told him last night, you're the my smartest friend,
I think.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
But don't let that go to your head. That's not
saying that.
Speaker 4 (27:40):
That's what I told him the other day, and that's
when he tricked me and was like, but Ashley, they
put a lot of smart people on that show.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
I think he finished third and beat Bucky.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Yeah, that's a definite. I mean he's not that smart.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Smart that on.
Speaker 5 (27:57):
Real brain Power next Thursday. Yeah, we could probably do
it next. I actually knew the.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
Final Jeopardy one that he got wrong?
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Is that right, face Levine?
Speaker 2 (28:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (28:06):
Take that to be fair. It had to do with Booze,
it did.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
The answer was what is wild Turkey? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (28:12):
You didn't even know.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
Stanford. Oh, they're just about Lewis Clark State.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Bud is.
Speaker 6 (28:24):
So delicious with Marie take that Levine?
Speaker 1 (28:29):
Yeah, Marty pants, what is rose Can? All right? I'm
gonna I thought for sure, what of you're gonna take this?
Cal Raleigh, Oh yeah, was named the twenty twenty five
Player Choice Award for Outstanding Player and not just the
American League, in all of baseball. So that means the
(28:52):
players who vote for this voted for Cal over both
Aaron Judge and show a Otani as the player of
the Year in Major League Baseball this year.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
How about that?
Speaker 6 (29:05):
And I think that, I mean, well, there's certain times
that players don't really care about a lot of voting,
particularly like the Pro Bowl voting or something like that.
It's a popularity contest. I think that this is one
where it's the players recognizing how difficult it is to
be a catcher. Yeah, and how difficult it must be
to keep two different swings right for the entire season
(29:27):
and put up the numbers he put up. To me,
it should speak volumes. But then again, I think the
people that already vote have already.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
Done it right, and I think that a lot of
baseball writers recognize that as well, and I think it
will be felt. Will it win the day when Aaron
Judge has such an impressive resume that I don't know,
but I think that plenty of baseball writers recognize those
things as well and value them. But I mean, he's
(29:55):
going up against a monster and Judge, And there's also,
let's face it, there's more East Coast voters and they
don't stay up till ten o'clock to watch Cal Rawley
at home runs. Yeah, there's that as well. So I'm
still not sure. I think maybe I'm fifty one nine
and that Judge is going to win it, But I'm
(30:18):
ninety nine to one that Cal should win it.
Speaker 6 (30:20):
Yeah, And I'm more than fifty one percent that Cal
is going to win it, But that's me just giving
a lot of credit to pay.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
I'm giving fifty one to Judge. Yeah, I think Judge
is the slight favorite too well, and I understand it's
a good debate. It just as if you just think
about the difference catching and playing right field some of
the season, it's not a contest, all right. I'm going
to close with this, how long do does time have
(30:47):
to pass before your concerts have to be promoted that
you are once a heart throbbing Oh?
Speaker 4 (30:54):
I feel like if you're if you haven't been a
heart drob in like ten years. It shouldn't be fit
something you're hanging your hat on.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
It's been forty years since Rick Springfield was an eighties
heart throb, and yet they're still using it to promote
his concerts, hit recording artist and eighties heart throb.
Speaker 5 (31:12):
Yeah, I Springfield.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Who's buying tickets to see a guy forty years after
he was a heart throb? You better like his music,
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
Well after he was probably a heart.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
Saying don't go see you, But I'm not saying he
wasn't a heart throw But forty years after being a
heart throb, I don't know if you should be promoting
that once upon a time you might not believe this
this guy was.
Speaker 5 (31:38):
A heart Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
You don't want to be like oh, because then people
go and there like, wait, he was a heart throw.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Yeah, but see, I.
Speaker 6 (31:43):
Think it's you're you're actually just speaking to the fans,
those that thought he was a heart throb. Then they're
not heart throbs any longer either, so they're still.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
Gonna buy tickets.
Speaker 6 (31:53):
Yeah, they just remember they remember when they had the
poster on the wall, And I mean it's Jesse's girl.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
It's love, all right. I mean, there's plenty of reasons
to go see Rick Springfield. And for his age, I'm
sure he's still one handsome fella. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (32:07):
I got to look him up and see if he
is still Just.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Don't know if I'm promoting. Hey, coming up this weekend,
thirty's heart Throb.
Speaker 4 (32:15):
Wow. It's weird though, because he does actually look like
he's tried to look exactly the same gray hair.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
Now, well, then just still call him a.
Speaker 5 (32:22):
Heart Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, you think
he's still a heart drob.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Then eighties hit recording artist and heart drob Rick Springfield,
you can go with that. Yeah, just don't know if
I'm gonna promote and forty years ago girls dug him.
Speaker 5 (32:37):
Yeah, forty years ago. You won't believe it. This guy
was actually really good booking all right.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
