Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's one analyst in town breaking down one key Seahawk
(00:02):
player for a one entire interview. And then in July
during the All Star break, we have another special tradition
and that is our Huskies One Series, and that is
every day for a week, we bring on one of
our top analysts here in town. We break down one
entire unit of the Huskies for the upcoming season for
one entire interview. And this is day number three. If
(00:22):
you've missed the first two days, go back Mario Bailey
breaking down wide receivers and running backs. And then we
had Scott Ecklin talking about the front seven on Monday.
Today Today, Washington Huskies legend, former tight end, current voice
color analyst of your Washington Huskies, Cam Cleveland joins us
to talk tight ends and offensive lineman. It has been
(00:45):
too long.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Sir, the most important group. Yeah, I'm only half right now.
I just I'm half a shell of myself at this point.
It's summer and I'm trying to, like you said, I'm
trying to keep my locked into football because all I
think about is football. So I have to play more
golf and relax a little bit. But I am I'm
(01:07):
telling you brother, I'm I'm I'm jones in for this
season right now. There's there's some excitement, really seriously, there is.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
And let's also be serious about another thing. It's tight
in not the coolest position in football. That's the best.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Well, it's the most underpaid, but it is pretty No,
it is, no think about it. I mean I've argued
this for years. We get to run against linebackers. I
get to knock the crap out of little safeties, and
I get to block defensive ends, and I get to
pretend I'm an offensive lineman and also pretend I'm a
wide receiver. So yes, I do feel really good about
the tight end position. Eah.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah, When I played it at one hundred and fifty
five pounds in high school.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
That was like me in fourth grade or something. What
are we doing here?
Speaker 1 (01:54):
That's small town Illinois, nineteen eighty eight. That's what boy is.
Cam Cleveland is with us. Yes, so we will get
into your excitement about this upcoming season. But let me
first because this first time we chatted with you, you've
lost your play by play man, You've lost your I
do your partner in crime. How are you feeling about that?
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Well? How good of a broadcast. Can you do when
you buy yourself? Is that impossible to do? Nobody wants
to here, Cam do play? Can you imagine Cam doing
play by play? Be terrifying? It just be a stuttering
stammer of things to do. And no, I'm happy for
Tony when the NFL calls. It's it's one of those
(02:35):
opportunities that's amazing, and him and his family get a
chance to go down to Tampa and be part of
the Bucks, which is any following a legend that's been
there I think forty years, also did the Florida State.
So it's just it's a great opportunity for him, and
so we look forward to seeing what happens to the
future of Husky Radio and a new voice. I just
(02:57):
sit back and relax. I'm meaningless. I'm just the guy
on the outside, just the bald guy that occasionally laughs
and talks over the person. So you know me, I'll
just keep trucking.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
I love the idea that you might have come on
here and said, I don't need a play by play guy.
I can do it all. I'm announcing myself. I'm running.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
No, no, no, no, nobody do that ever anymore. This
isn't baseball. You know, baseball, you can kill time. You
can have a full conversation. You can then scully this
thing for three innings and nobody knows that football you
don't have that time. Yeah, you don't have it.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
All right, Well, we're really excited to find out who
your partner is going to be. Nobody's called me. I
know that. So uh, I think you're safe.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
I think dang it, dang it, I'm giving them the insight.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Well, I appreciate it. All right, Well, let's dive in.
We have a task here. Let's take a look at
the upcoming group of tight ends and offensive lineman. And
since the is the coolest position, we'll start there. And
I know how much you built up Decker to Graph
a year ago at this time, and he ended up
having a really good year thirty two catches, couple touchdowns
(04:12):
in his first year as a starter. So he leads
the depth chart right now. And I would imagine you're
expecting more growth from Decker to Graph this year.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
I think so. I think what Decker's biggest goal always
was to get bigger and stronger, because he physically as
a freshman, you have to see his super talented athletic
as anybody else to get up and get the football
in space, especially down the middle. His his issue was
always strength on the outside in line blocking when you
(04:43):
wanted to run, when we wanted to have the edge
and see how he can handle. I mean when we
talk about stand up guys out there, we're talking to
eighty three hundred pounder. You look at Washington, you look
at Oregon. Stand up outside linebackers are massive and if
you're tight end, can't handle the outside. Occasionally even being
able to block safeties down the field. That was his goal.
(05:04):
Now he's gotten a lot stronger, and certainly his size
and his speed is what gives him his advantage. His
ball catching skills, awareness and screens. Red zone is always
what I tell you, where a tight end makes his money.
It's where you can dominate with that size, and he
needs to do it. The guy of this group, Chuck,
(05:25):
that is going to have a huge jump this year
is Baron Naoni. He is the one that comes from Yeah,
he is the one when I talked about strength and size,
and of course he's a redhead, so I'm gonna give
him a little bit of extra you know. That's there
No but Baron comes from west Land. He's an Oregon kid,
came from Westland High School down by me. Because I'm
in Vancouver, I got a chance to watch him in
(05:46):
high school and see how talented he was physically. He's
grown physically he has He's established himself as a really
physical edge guy too. But dam go get the football.
You're gonna need two tight ends in this often at
all times. You might. You're gonna rotate even more with
Deldiers when he comes back to you know, he has
injury last year, and and how he produces to another
(06:09):
kid that's a local product that transferred back up to
the Huskies. So those three guys, now, there could be
more now as we see in the rotation with Austin
Simmons too, and and what happens. But those three probably
will be the most dominant ones that get the most
run offensively, and how they rotate, you're gonna see three
(06:30):
tight ends set. You're gonna see a lot of twelve personnel.
I mean, that's that's what coach Fish likes to do.
And if you can run the football in the Big ten,
you need tight ends to be able to block, and
you need them desperately. Need them to have those eight
to ten yard window catches. If if Decker wants to
have a great year, he needs the average anywhere from
(06:50):
eight to ten yard to catch because that's a chain
mover at tight end, and that's what you really want
to see him be doing.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Fair in six four two sixty three as a freshman.
I mean, that's like Eric Green. I mean, is he
gonna be like three hundred pounds tight end by the
time he's done at Washington?
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Well, I mean that's to me, that's about average now
when you think about it. I mean I played at
two seventy two, seventy seventy five and that rings and
that's back then. Now, guys are I mean, if you're
not able to handle the size on the outside of
your strength, you need it, you really do, because plus
it's just armor around there. But on the edge, on
the edge, it takes a crap ton of strength man
(07:29):
to be able to hold those, especially in power and
outside runs. You cannot give up. Like Quinton was so
good at it. I mean, he was so talented at
being able to physically hold the edge and not give
back on those outside runs. And you're gonna need those
young men to be able to handle it.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Cam Cleveland is with us. It's our Huskies one series
cam our featured analyst here today, one analyst breaking down
one unit for the Huskies for one entire interview. And
we're taking a look at the tight end and offensive
line group. And when Jetfish took over, Cam, the offensive
line was a mess. I mean, it was a disaster
and he knew it. He knew it was going to
be and it was gonna be a process of building
(08:07):
it up. And it has gotten a little bit better
every single year since that messy first season. But now
it feels to me, and correct me if I'm wrong,
where for the first time, maybe since Jedfish took over,
that there's like genuine excitement that this could be a really,
really good group that the Huskies have up front? Am
(08:28):
I wrong about that?
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Right?
Speaker 1 (08:29):
About that?
Speaker 2 (08:30):
No? No, you're not wrong. And these are the two
most viable important positions groups on any team in the
Big Ten now and all the college football starts the
O line and the D line. Now. I won't be
breaking down the D line because that goes without saying,
but this offensive line, you live and die with him.
You will not be successful in any football program in
(08:50):
the country, if you don't have guys that can handle
it up front. Now you're young on the left side,
certainly you have a sophomore if coach Green, I'm gonna
say if I know he's penciled in, but who knows
situation wise, with a true freshman as talented as that
that will be. Unfortunately, I'll just state that's the weak
side because look, if you're protecting demand on that side,
(09:12):
your left tackle has to be critically talented, but you know,
experience and size and strength. Young freshman on the edge,
everybody in the country is going to attack him and
he'll get good really quick, or he'll be in trouble
really quick. He'll find it. With Carver gun and a senior.
You flip to the right side and you're as experienced
as anybody in the country. Both Hatchet brothers and having
(09:35):
Drew come back as a party on the right side,
you're so stable. I would tell you you're gonna see
a predominant right side run game this year if you
lean on that side. Health is what I wonder with
the Hatchets. Health is always that situation. If both brothers
can say strong, it is a dominant right side and
(09:55):
then you have John Mills, who could I mean, is
easily the most talented on that group physically, I mean,
he's an All American candidate, no question. So interior wise,
you're as big as strong in that early group and
a champ. Also to tell Leile that rotation. You have
(10:15):
so many good guys that can move in and out
in that group, But we're only guys. We're only going
to be as good as this offensive line performs. I mean,
knowing what the difference in the scoring and wins last
year averaging forty five points a game and averaging seven
or eight points a game and losses forty five and
wins eight and losses. That's upfront. That's Ohio State game.
(10:37):
And you look at our schedule. You see Oregon at
the end of the year, you have Indiana coming here,
you have Iowa. You're on the road early to FC
that's the big one. You have Minnesota coming in. These
road games that you're gonna have to produce is about
running the football, certainly, and it starts with that group
up front.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Now, Mills wasn't just good for a freshman last year.
He was just good last year. How good? What are
we projecting for this guys, this like a first future
first rounder. Is this somebody that will move to the
outside eventually. What does the expectation going forward for john Mills.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
It's a great question. I mean, how many guards go
in the top ten in college draft in the NFL draft,
So it's not a lot, It's very rare. It's usually tackles.
Thing is he's interchangeable. He could easily go inside and out.
And it also depends how Cody starts to develop green
on the outside as a freshman. So Johnny can play
(11:33):
both sides, certainly, can he play. Do I think he's
a better guard than tackle right now? Yes? Yes, I'm
not saying he can't do it and get outside. No tackles,
their feet have to be really elite, their length, their
arm length. But it doesn't say that he could not
do it. He absolutely could, no question about it. And
but interior strength with Garion and Drew and Landing and
(11:57):
all those guys in the front, you have to be
able to run an A and B gaps which are
left and right of the guards in the centers. You
got to win inside there. And the size of everybody
that's the top in the big ten, you got to
be able to knock off Penn State, you got to
be able to knock off Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State.
Everybody's big. You've heard coaching State over and over again.
(12:20):
He had a completely rebuild size. That's how small we were.
Andone goes, well, what does small mean? Well, when tier
your guys are three twenty on defensive line, you need
to be able to move and you got to play
on their side of this line of scrimmage. If you can't,
it's it's just going to be losing all day long.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Cam Cleveland is with US our Husky Sell one series
talking about the tight ends and the offensive lineman for
the Washington Huskies heading into the twenty twenty sixth season.
As part of our one series, when it comes to
having like a dual threat like Daman Williams at quarterback,
I'm curious because we always just assume that your left
tackle protects your blind side. But is that just in
(12:58):
the case of having a pocket passer at quarterback somebody immobile?
Do the rules change at all? Does somebody else on
the offensive line become more important when you have somebody
that is just as big a threat to take off
running as he is to throwing the football, or do
the same rules apply. Left tackle is just the most
important thing in terms of pass protection on an offensive line.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
You know what it depends on. It depends on the
style of your quarterback. If you okay, if you had
a Mendoza back there, and you see a guy is
still tall, still athletic, but he's certainly not a Demon
Williams right after any offensive lineman, they would rather and
this isn't this is stating obvious, So they would rather
(13:43):
have a guy that's a little bit more stable because
they kind of know where it's going to be. It's like, Okay,
he steps up in the pocket, he slides here, I
know where I need to be. Remember, you can't see
the quarterback obviously, for obvious reasons. Your back's to him.
If he's a guy as quick and his athletic and
is moving as Demond, yes, it makes it more impressive
to watch somebody that can little dodgeball, duck dive and
(14:05):
dodge back there. But it makes a difficult offensive line
because you don't know where he's gonna set up. Sometimes
now you do in his discipline, because that's what coach
Fish and the rest of the group offensive. They want
him to set up in spots so the linemen aren't guessing.
But what makes demand so great is creativity, Right, you
have to be creative. He can't see in the windows
(14:27):
that a six' three or a six' to two guy.
Can see he has to slide. A lot he has
to move into a. Throwing lane that makes it a
lot harder on the, offensive group on the, offensive line in,
pass protection if that makes sense to, your vision all. Of, that,
so yeah all of those things are are. Pretty important
so in, this group the left, side MATTERS but i
(14:48):
think everybody's pretty important in this group at, this, Point mam.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Is there a chance that this is the strength the
group up front of this roster? THIS year.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
I think the strength of, this group, no question is
the offense and. DEFENSIVE line i mean the defense is
stacked with leadership, coming back and they are stacked, at
linebacker the, d line, safe corners the. Replacing corners that's
the situation on the. Outside edge will we see when.
Teams attack but look who wins the national championship the last,
(15:23):
three Years and i'm going to tell you they won
it at the point. Of attack they wanted. Running games
they run it. At physicality that's where you. Win, it
yes it looks really pretty to be out on. The
edge oregon. Knows, it okay everybody. Sees it you win
it with your often defensive line up front because you
can win those, close battles especially as you get down
in the. Red zone if you can't control the line,
(15:45):
of scrimmage the spread offense. Is. Gone guys you may
think that, it's okay we're out, in space. We're huddling we're.
No huddling we're repping every. Five minutes Even when oregon,
was humming they were running for three hundred yards, a
game and top teams will. Run it this is where
football is. At looking this is How the seahawks wanted
at the lion of scrimmage IN. The nfl this is.
(16:07):
Getting tighter that's how this sport. Has evolved it's, very
cyclical but football is back to point. Of attack it's
no longer open in space and let's just try to
throw it all over. The yard. That's winning Because The
big tens won three straight national championships with, power football
AND the sec, is panicking and so is. Everybody else
they're trying to play, catch up, all.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Right well let's close with, this then because you said
people should be really excited about, this team and then
you doubled down, on it, You said i'm. Really SERIOUS
so i want to highlight that why Should a husky
fan be more excited about the twenty Twenty six huskies
than they've been about the twenty, twenty five twenty twenty four,
and well we won't go any further, than that because
(16:48):
those were some very. Exciting teams but why Is this
jedfish's most exciting?
Speaker 2 (16:52):
Team, today well because, it's EXPERIENCE and, i THINK like,
i mentioned you have three seniors on the, offensive line
you have a junior Wide received, i'm sorry you have
a junior quarterback. Coming back you have, senior transfers you
have juniors at. Wide receiver you have experience on, the
defense you have size on. The defense IF if i
(17:12):
told you in the last, two season the last two national,
championship teams Even, watching indiana they had sixteen seniors or six.
Year players miami Had Eighteen ohio state with Senior laden
you win. With experience now there are some young guys
that are gonna have, to perform and certainly when you
(17:33):
have couldentually have a true freshman at. Left tackle those.
Are anomalies now you can. Do that but the experience of,
this team the experience of the, coaching staff older players
that know how. To win this schedule also sets up very.
Very good it. REALLY does i mean you HAVE at
(17:53):
i mean being able. To go you're, Gonna know we're
Gonna know, october Third and i'm not skipping over these
first four games like they're and this is no shock
To the koogs. At all With The apple cup being On,
A sunday i stayed up with a question mark, and
like what are we doing Anyway? On sunday this Sets
up october third In the COLISEUM against usc to show
(18:16):
you what this team can do on. The road that
game now as high point. As anything that's, a huge
huge game to show you what this team can do on.
The road and if it, goes WELL which i believe,
it will the rest of this schedule sets up very.
Very well and you head into the end of the
season facing the defending national champs and probably a top
(18:37):
five Team in oregon coming down. The road and certainly
those two games you got one at home and one on.
The road, this team barring health, and experience could easily
be right there in the conversation or making a college football.
Playoff appearance love to, hear it love to.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Hear it i'm glad You're the i'm glad That you're
they came out, of it came out of your. Mouth first
FOR time i, Have it i'll.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
Wear, IT yeah i absolutely will. WEAR it i got
no problems. With it expectations are what, you do and
that's why you have. These players that's why the coaching
staff does what. They do it's one of the best
recruiting groups we've Seen. At washington it's an unbelievable job
that coach has done with his group to get these
guys to come To. The pacific it's, not, it hey
(19:21):
it's not an easy place, to recruit but he's found
ways to make. It Exciting and i'm excited.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
About, It hey i'm excited to have had you. On
today it's been way.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Too.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Long yeah great to hear. Your, voice, yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Yeah, wonderful. Yeah anytime my friends, are.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Right you're ready for another? Football season ready to?
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Do this, come, On man i'm just ready to run into.
A wall i just don't want to. FALL apart i
just want to. Fall apart you got to protect the,
golf game, my friend keep it in the short grass
and enjoy what. Summer's left and IT'S like, i said
let's get Ready, for august because it's going to be
here in.
Speaker 1 (19:51):

All Right, Cam Cleveland washington husky's legend color analysts For
Your washington huskies right here on the Flagship For washington.
Huskies football joining us here For the huskies, one series
and there's a breakdown for you the offensive line and
the tight. End group and this is undoubtedly the forecast
(20:15):
for the best offensive line that they've Had since jedfish.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Took off which is.
Speaker 4 (20:19):
Good because we went from having a really awesome offensive
line to.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Really bad one really bad and then, it's.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Gotten, you, Know better but it's not anyone that you would, Be,
like man now we're back to that offensive line we
had when they went to the.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
HOME plate i mean. It doesn't it's not very often
that a homeplate umpire stands out in, any way shape,
or form unless he's. Blowing Everything alan porter Was The
All star game homeplate umpire, last night and. IT'S obvious,
i mean did you See The bryce harper Exchange where
bryce went to the plate for the first time and
(23:59):
shook his and told. Him congratulations so obviously he got.
The Honor Because alan porter apparently has been the best
home played umpire, this, year okay and it, Struck me
And maybe, i'm wrong but there's only been one time
in my entire CAREER that i have started a show
by acknowledging how great an. Umpire was and it was
During a. Mariner game it was about two, years AGO
(24:22):
and i started the show with that home played umpire
had tough calls all. Night long and then people start
sending me. A Scorecard That's. Alan porter i'm pretty sure
it's the. Same guy. Last night he was ninety eight
percent accurate on, called balls ninety one percent accurate on.
Cold strikes he missed five calls the. Entire night only
(24:42):
one was an. Obvious call players were zero for two
in their challenges. Against him he got a ninety six
percent rating for, overall accuracy ninety four percent rating for.
Overall consistency the best home played umpire in the sport
was the home played umpire last night At The All,
star game and he. It out and when a player
takes the time to congratulate the homeplate umpire for getting
(25:05):
a well, DESERVED honor i think we now know the
Anti angel hernandez and his Name Is. Alan porter Oh.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Welcome alan we need more, of you.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
WE do i is. FOR injury i don't know what's
going On With, brendan DONOVAN and i wish that our
team shared. INJURY information i don't know why it's such.
A secret i do get why college football coaches don't want.
TO share i get why football coaches don't want to
share information like, injury wise and yet they. Do anyway
(25:36):
they're kind of, forced to but. They, do anyway we
don't share any. INJURY information i have Heard That brendan
donovan was supposed to start rehab games, this week but
the week started and he still hasn't. Started THEM so
i don't know what's going On With. BRENDAN donovan i
have no idea when he's going to, be back but
it's been so. LONG now i think he's going to
(25:57):
need at least a week of rehab games and maybe
more to be ready, To go so we're probably not
going to see him for at least a week or.
Two more uh, and man because we aren't given. Any
information i'd really like to know just how serious this
injury was and how serious the, setbacks were but apparently
(26:18):
we're not allowed to have, that information so we have
no idea what's going On With. Brendan DONOVAN but i want,
him BACK and i want him back in, the LINEUP
and i want him hitting lead off like it was
DESIGNED because i think we were a better baseball team.
That way now what position, HE plays i have. No
idea sounds like they're gonna use him as a super
utility player when he, does RETURN but i hope that
means he plays in the. Everyday lineup but we. Shall,
(26:41):
See finally jay is. For jacked you know what's strange
is that when you're used to watching a sport every,
day practically and then all of, a Sudden The all star,
break comes and sometimes not, long ago they would start
the second half or some time to kind of catch
up with the schedule the. Day, After well I'll Give rob.
(27:04):
Medford credit, he's, like no everybody Gets An all. Star
break we're not gonna play Again, until friday so you're
gonna have four full, days off and even the guys
that are In The All star game get two. Days
OFF so i, like that Good For. Rob manford we're
not gonna Play. Until friday BUT sometimes i am, So
Jacked like, i'm like, oh man we're still two days away.
(27:26):
From games i'm actually okay with it. Right NOW and
i don't know if that's BECAUSE maybe i need a
couple of nights off from sports or if and this
is this is a, Rough admission LIKE am? I starting
i just don't want to see them play another bad.
(27:47):
Baseball game, I'M like i am in no hurry to
find out we're going to get off to a cold
start in the. SECOND half i think we can, afford
it by the way the way That The american league has,
PLAYED out i mean. We don't we don't have to
get the hit the ground running this weekend Against The San.
Francisco Giants but i'm just kind of over, Like, thinking
(28:10):
okay here's the. Reset button LAST time i talked about a,
reset button they played horrible baseball for the next week
where it, felt, like oh that's a perfect chance get
back to. Five hundred REMEMBER when I Told, ryan healy
like this. Is important we need to win this. Game
tonight we need. To win we need to get back
to five hundred. Right now it's a reset button and
then the team's gonna. Take off they didn't take Off,
(28:32):
right like we got back to the five hundred market
mark and it didn't matter, at all and that was
like two.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
Months, ago well and it seems like we've done that.
A bunch, it's, just oh this is the momentum, we
need this is the change, we need and it. DOESN'T
happen i will say there is one Game, on Thursday
One Major league baseball Game, on thursday Between the mets And.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
The phillies so the point is THAT normally i just.
CAN'T wait, i, remember though When the Julio The All
star game, was here and what did? We win like
twelve straight games going Into The all, star BREAK and
i could not Wait. Till FRIDAY and i was on
vacation at, that Time and i'm Down, In, sedona arizona for,
goodness sake AND my RV and i crack out my
(29:12):
lawn Chair AND i'm i was counting down the seconds,
to WATCH and i turn on the radio and, sure
enough FIRST thing i Hear is julio's not in. The
lineup So maybe i'm just maybe it's, Just Protectant like
i'm not. AS jacked i just don't want to Find,
out FRIDAY and i don't think. WE will i Think
the mariners are gonna pull away on the. SECOND half
(29:34):
i think they're gonna Win. THE division i think they're
gonna win. IT comfortably i think we're gonna be in,
the PLAYOFFS and i think we're gonna be dangerous in.
The PLAYOFFS but i don't know if that's Starting, on
Friday and i'm not gonna predict that it's gonna Start.
On friday and even though one of the worst teams
in baseball is gonna be here on our Turf on
friday and we should get off to a, Great start
(29:55):
i'm certainly not Jas for jack to find out that
we get off to a slow start in the set and.
A Half so i'm gonna take my two days off
and enjoy two evenings off without a major, sporting event,
you know tying me to, my sofa and Then, ON
friday i expect that we should have an excellent chance
(30:15):
of getting off to the right Start. On friday and
that's as Far as i'm.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
TAKING it i can understand, the Apprehension but.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
I'M excited i think this is it's once we Get,
To wednesday, I'm, Like okay i'll take one night off and,
Then yeah i'll probably even Put The mets phillies game
ON because i want. SOMETHING on I won't it's not
gonna BE on, tv one but it's gonna be there
for me, to watch.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
All, right well last thing Is Next sports radio ninety
three point THREE kJ a R.

it out. For you KNOW what i mean by?
Speaker 2 (31:38):
That?
Speaker 1 (31:38):
Fun right have some fun.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
With, it, YEAH yeah i, got that.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
All right one last thing to close out. Today's show
what do?
Speaker 4 (31:44):
You?
Speaker 3 (31:45):
GOT so i don't know if.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
You've, seen this but the first step in making daylight
saving time permanent has. BEEN reached i Guess the house
voted on this saving.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
SUMMER light i don't remember what. It's called, some, bill
okay would make daylight saving.
Speaker 4 (32:01):
Time permanent but then they're gonna allow states to decide
if they want to be on standard time or daylight.
Saving time, really yeah, so basically, you know we're just
making up our.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Own time wait, A minute.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Wait, a minute because it's confusing enough for people to
try to figure out WHAT other, i mean, My mom
i've been On the west coast for. Thirty, years yeah
and she still can't do. The math it's just.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
Minus, TWO well I think I don't HERE'S what i think.
IS gonna I guess i don't really know how they'll,
do IT but i think it would still you just
stay on the so we'd all be on the, same
time but WE'D make i, don't know we make up
OUR own i don't. Get it it just seems weird.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
To me you're either gonna make it all mean make
everyone do the, same Thing or.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Na and arizona. Were, different yeah that was a little.
Bit confusing we them couldn't figure out are you one
behind or? Two Behind so Indiana, and arizona that was
that was. Confusing enough so if you're telling me that
everybody just gets to choose their own, individual.
Speaker 4 (33:03):
Yes but then you'll be there all the time you want,
to change so, at, least yeah it would take a
little while to figure out If they're BUT and i
know there's a lot of people, that, say, OH well
i want the, extra DAYLIGHT so i want to stay
in daylight.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Saving time but then in the winter it's not going
to be light here till like.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
Nine am now kids have to go to school and
like wait for a bus in.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
The dark either we stick with what we've got or it, becomes.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
Well you go to standard.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
Time uniform it needs to. Be uniform SO even, i
mean i'd Before telling Arizona and indiana to, grow up
stop stomping your feet and acting like you're different.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
AND special.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
I don't i don't love changing. OUR clocks i think
it messes with us all. THE time i just think
it's weird to me that we can just pick a
time that we want that works for. Us better we can,
be like you, Know, what okay if you guys just,
like daylight saying we'll just make that permanent and screw the.
Original time that's the, standard time that was the. Actual,
TIME well i.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Don't know the truth, behind It but i've always been
under the impression that it was a. Farmer's right it
was for the Farmers, of america and we should be
looking out for the Farmers. Of america they're, pretty, Important
RIGHT so i, don't know it's going to be very
confusing if Just the midwest is on day is on
some sort, of clock and the rest of us are on.
(34:15):
Something else. That's more we don't need to make it,
more confusing that's. For sure.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
Yeah SEE and i thought it was so that kids
when they got out of school had more time to
help on, the farms and so there was more daylight,
after school because we think, about it farmers are up,
Early anyway so do they want more darkness in.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
The winter. PROBABLY not i.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
DON'T know i just think it's weird that we just
get to pick and choose time all of. A, sudden
well it's strange.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
To me not only is it weird. AND strange i
don't even. BELIEVE it i don't even believe that's going
to be.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
The, case, okay yeah so THAT'S what. I Read so
i'm just telling you.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Strang's, dumb yeah. ALL right i will close. With This
The open championship. Is tomorrow we don't have our we're
not doing our normal system for declaring who we're things going,
to win so let's just do it the old. Fashioned
way who do you think is? GONNA win I.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
Maybe, Wyndham clark, oh wow back?
Speaker 1 (35:09):
To, back jeez he.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
YEAH maybe i mean he's on a roll.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
RIGHT now i did Like what brady Said About, justin
ROSE but i also Feel Like justin rose always comes.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
So close he'll finish in the. Top, five yeah and
he'll lead at one point and day.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Three probably and give everyone some hope that he's can finally.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
Pull, it off and then. He'll fail i'm gonna Go.
WITH rory, i mean we don't even Bring up rory
in our Conversation with brady today at. Eight O'CLOCK but
i think he's gonna begin the year with a major
and he's gonna end the year with. A major I
think rory's primed, for THIS and i do want to
Talk about Rory and scotty tomorrow on the show at,
some point because they made some pretty interesting statements about
(35:49):
they don't care about legacy YESTERDAY and i THINK that's
i think. That's silly that's as silly as what they're doing.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
With daylight, SAY well i do think the question was,
weird too wasn't it something like what do you want when?
You're dead what do you want people one hundred years
from now to remember?
Speaker 1 (36:06):
You for it, Was, like, god no he says. He
does they both said they, don't CARE and i think
that's a young. Person talking, All, right well we'll discuss.
That tomorrow coming. Up Next greg bell is coming. Your
way thank you very much for, joining us so we.
