Speaker 1 (00:06):
I'll see up.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Spence got a fine space for that left foot into
the Madalenzo for Nanda's Argentina. Now I'm fined away and
I've tied the game. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
That seems to be the story of the tournament, all right.
Argentina always finds a way.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Gross, Yeah, they're annoying.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
I was good, Yeah, actually I do.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Do you notice every they just kept surrounding the ref
anytime they thought that something.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
Yeah, I was like, okay, just let it.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Go man, Oh yeah, constantly. Here's what here's what I
really did. Do you like though about Argentina. Did you
notice that every time the goalkeeper for England had the
ball there was somebody from Argentina like in his face? Yes,
because I've watched soccer all like a lot, and I'm like,
why don't you harassed the goalkeeper? Why do you just
(01:02):
let him kick it free? And every single time, well
maybe not every single time, it felt like every single
time they liked had somebody just they were just they
were going to harass you wherever. They were't gonna give
you anything for free. Yeah, you're gonna have to earn
it all day long. Also, we got a little taste
of just how great I mean Messi's not just a score.
(01:22):
That guy is magical. Those were some unbelievable passes he
was throwing, throwing, kicking in the match yesterday. All right,
seven o'clock hour, Good to have you with us. It
is Chuck Powllin, Ashley, Ryan Brad Evans. Gonna join us
here in about a minute and a half, but let
me first get to your headlines, brought to you by
Frostbrewed Corps, Light Choose Chill. Argentina comes from behind again
(01:45):
and wins over England two to one, and they have
set up a World Cup final Sunday at noon right
here at Sports Radio ninety three point three KHRFM between
themselves and Spain England. Poor England comes up a little
bit short again and Posh just some heartbroke for Posh.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
I just really wanted them to hear them sing Hey
Jude again, Wonderwall again.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
That would have been nice, Yeah, it would have been nice. Sounders,
by the way, MLS action resumes tonight. Sounders are back
in action tonight.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
They waste no time, that's right.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
So seven thirty against the Timbers at lumen Field, so
it's back to be in Lumenfield, So the Sounders resume
the rest of their season. They are seven three and three.
In case you were wondering, they have twenty four matches
to play in the regular season. Cracking schedule is going
to be released today at ten o'clock. We'll cover that
for you right here at Kate Jar. We'll actually have
(02:36):
Brandon montur on a little bit later at nine point
thirty to discuss some of the highlights to the schedule.
We'll go over to ourselves as well at some point
during this hour here on Chuck and Buck Sky over
the Storm last night, ninety five to ninety. The Storm
are now six and twenty on the year. Meanwhile, in
the NBA, we're still on Lebron Watch, and I have
(02:56):
a feeling, even though there's really nothing there supporting it
right now, that maybe Lebron will give his decision today
since he has the entire sports world to himself here
on this Thursday, and he seems to like attention. Just
an assessment I've made nine days from training camp. We
will continue our Huskies one series today at nine o'clock
(03:19):
with Christian Capble. We'll talk about defensive backs today for
Jedfish's squad and the Mariners will resume their season Friday
at home against the Giants, and that will be a
seven o'clock start. We still don't know the pitching rotation
to start the second half. We will speculate about it
later this hour, but right now we are joined by
(03:40):
a guy. I don't know where we would have been
in this World Cup without this guy. Former sounder and
just excellent analysts that we have been using the crap
out of during our coverage here at kJ R. Brad
Evans is with us again this morning on Chuck and Buck.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Hi Brad, Good morning everybody.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
How are we doing. I'm all right. Are you a
little sad that they're is only one big match remaining?
I mean, as exciting as it might be on Sunday,
is there a little part of you it's like, oh man,
it's almost over? Yeah it is.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
This World Cup has been crazy, but it does feel
really long, and I was working for a massive part
of this tournament, and so I'm kind of looking forward
to the break and not having any more games on
the schedule. It's a little bit of both a little
bit a little bit sad, but also excited. Most importantly
(04:32):
for this weekend.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
All right, So maybe you overheard it, maybe not. But
I'll start with this, since Ashley and I were just
talking about it, a couple of observations from the Argentina
victory yesterday. Number One, it feels to me like Argentina
presses the goalkeeper more than any other team that I've
watched play in this tournament. I mean, they don't give
(04:54):
you anything for free, even a goalkeeper trying to kick
the ball to the other end of the feat. They
always have somebody in your face. Am I seeing that correctly?
Or have I missed it in other teams?
Speaker 2 (05:08):
No?
Speaker 1 (05:09):
I think you're right.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
I think Argentina's game plan is when the ball goes
back to the goalkeeper, they will press for the next
five or six seconds just to see if the goalkeeper
will make an air and then if the ball goes long,
then they all kind of get back. They reset, they
maintain possession of the ball, they break, and then maybe
there's another backpass and they go and press. So yeah,
(05:31):
they're not a possession based team, really is. When you
think of South American teams, you think of possession, the
ability to keep the ball, and things have changed in
the last.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Basically ever since they figured out.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
All they had to do was get the ball to
Messi in the last World Cup and they're going to win,
so in my opinion, so maintaining possession of the ball
isn't really what they do. They're happy to be those
dog in those dog fights. They're happy to fight for
the ball. They're going to press you in air. Is
that maybe another team wouldn't normally press and just let
you play, But England kind of did that to themselves yesterday.
(06:06):
England had a perfect game plan in the first half.
They high pressed, they put Argentina under pressure. You had
Jet Spence as a left back for England. He was
high up the pitch which made it really difficult for
Argentina to get out of their own third. And then
all of a sudden you go up one nothing and
you completely change your tactics and you bring on three
(06:30):
defenders after that and you play with five in the
back instead of sticking with your original formation. Well, all
that does is it allows a full court press basically
from Argentina for the next forty minutes. And in a
World Cup with a team like Messi, you cannot do that.
You can't just sit back and defend. It doesn't work out.
It's the prevent defense where it seems like it never
(06:50):
works out for the team that is protecting the lead,
and certainly didn't in yesterday's game. And Argentina does what
Argentina does and what they've done the entire tournament is
go down or be tied late in the game, and
then all of a sudden, bang bang, and it's Argentina
off to the finals once again.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
I you know what, as you're describing it, I'm like, yeah,
that's exactly what happened. They let Argentina when they're up
one to oh, they let Argentina dictate the pace, dictate
the game. Argentina was getting a lot of good looks
barely missing and it just won after another and it
eventually caught up to them. So if it was so obvious,
(07:29):
I mean, how much criticism should the head coach be
facing for that strategy.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Well, what's hard is that the game against Mexico, they
go down to Asteca, they go down a man, they
bring on a couple defenders, and somehow Jude Bellingham has
one of the games of his life and gets them
out of there with a victory. But they did they
sat back in that game because they really had to.
They were playing a man down. But something switches in
(07:58):
your brain when you're playing a man down is actually
everyone on the field tries like ten or fifteen percent harder,
and it's really hard to beat a team that is
a man down, especially when they're already protecting a lead.
The opposite happened yesterday for England. They thought that this
was going to be another Okay, we scored our goal
against Mexico, like against Mexico, we've gotten our goal against Argentina. Well,
(08:22):
let's just sit back. We'll bring on a six to
seven defender. At some point, we'll bring on a couple
other defenders. But that isn't what worked for them in
that game. And every game is very different, and for
some reason, Thomas Toucle saw that, you know, we're going
to kind of stick with our guns and we're going
to bring on some defenders. But there's a psychological impact
when you're in a game like that. For everyone on
(08:43):
the field. Is as soon as you're a player on
the field and let's say you're out. Anthony Gordon, for example,
is a left winger, left forward. He gets taken off,
everyone on the field is expecting an attacking player to
come on to replace him. Well, another defender comes on
the field, everyone goes into a mind shift of I
have to defend. Now we're defending. No matter if the
(09:05):
coach says play the same, you're defending at the end
of the day because you brought on the defender. There's
a reason why these seasoned veterans on those teams are defenders.
They are not attackers. So it's a complete mental mind
shift as well.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
There's a term brad in American football, and I'm sure
you follow and I'm sure you know it, but they
call it a dime. And that's when a quarterback just
throws the perfect pass like there's no defense, Like you
had it the receiver defended, but he threw it in
a spot that the only spot that he could have
thrown it to complete the pass. And I see being
(09:40):
able to do that with your arm as a quarterback,
but I don't know if I thought it was possible
with your feet kicking a ball. And yet Leno MESSI yesterday.
I mean that some of those passes were just right
on the money with his feet. So as somebody that
watch more soccer in the last month than I probably
(10:02):
have in my entire life. I would just say I
knew that Messi could score, and I knew that he
could handle the ball, dribble the ball if you will.
But man, those that display he put on passing wise yesterday,
to me was unreal. Your reaction to it all.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
Yeah, I mean, he is one of the best passers
in the game. There's a reason why his assist total is,
you know, not out of this world. So you're right,
they were dimes. You had McCallister hit the post with
a header, you had mccallisterer hit the post with his feet,
and then all of a sudden, Messi's swinging in ball
(10:41):
after ball after ball, whether it was left foot or
right foot, and just giving his team an opportunity. And
if you put the ball in the right place, the
runners will eventually be there.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
And people are.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Saying, well, why wouldn't England just they have a six
foot seven center back and everyone else is sixty four
and the six foard six'. Five how is this possible
foot nine player gets on the end of the ball
and heads it. Home it doesn't. Matter in, soccer you're
taught to have spacing no matter. What you don't all
just stand in a line and all attack the ball
at the same time because as soon As messi figures
(11:13):
out that every defender is going to go to the near. Posts,
well soccer players are smart, enough but now we know
that the back post is, on so the ball is
going to find its way to the back. Post so
you are taught to be basically defending on on a
tether of equal. Distance so everyone is always five to
eight yards apart inside the. Box and if one player
goes too far to the player to his, left, well
(11:35):
now to his right there's a twelve yard, gap so
that gap becomes even. Bigger so any day of the,
week if the ball is a, dime a five foot
nine player can be in that gap and If messi
finds it, there it is, bang there's your.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Goal and it.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Happened it could have been four or five Nothing argentina
in those last twenty. Minutes let's be. Honest it wasn't
like they just all of a sudden had two chances
in the last few minutes of the. Game so the
pressure was coming the ball all the consistency of the
service was always, there and at the end of the,
day you make good runs where the ball should be
you're going to find yourself with. Opportunities they, did and
(12:10):
yes they Were. Dines, Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah Brad evans is with us Talking World cup here.
Today argentina moves on to Face Spain sunday at. Noon
more on that in a, moment but just one last
question About. ARGENTINA i think a lot of people watch
a sport where scoring is very hard to come, by
and Yet, argentina match after match after, match just seems
to press a. Button when they need a, goal they
can get a. Goal and so are they that? Good
(12:35):
have they been getting? Lucky are they getting breaks from
the refs like a lot of people are complaining. About
is it another you, know the hand Of, god you,
know reaching? DOWN i, mean how would you describe How
argentina continues to seemingly get out played for a lot
of the, match but when they need to be the
best team they always find a way to do.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
That, well to, me they don't get any of these
results Without messy on the. FIELD i don't win that
game Without messi on the pitch last, night yesterday, afternoon
AND i really don't think. So they still have world class.
PLAYERS i, mean you're bringing off a player on the
bench who you know plays In sara A ah has
been player of The year In Sarah ah and so
there's still a stacked, team, yes but there's something about
(13:18):
when you have the greatest player playing with you and
you're playing for, him magic just tends to.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
HAPPEN i, mean.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Whether it's The Bulls, brady you, Know Michael jordan with
The Bulls, brady who named the athlete that's great and
consistently gets results and we always ask our questions, why how,
well that's why they're the greatest is because sometimes we
can't really explain. It and if they do win this,
weekend it will go. DOWN i, mean he has to
be unequivocally the greatest soccer player of all time because to,
(13:49):
me they count you on your. Championships that's how every
sport should. Be and so for for this team to
consistently get, results it's it's some crazy. BELIEF i really
can't pinpoint. It it's like they always believe that there
is a chance to win in a. Game they could
be down three to. NOTHING i mean you saw it
In egypt two nothing with what fifteen minutes left in the,
(14:11):
game and then all of a sudden come back and
win three to, two like these are unheard? Of is
there some grace from the? Referee yes last NIGHT i
Thought Ishmael, elfat who's AN mls referee and a WHOLE mls.
CREW i thought he refereed that game. Fantastic there can't
be one complaint about him giving that game To. Argentina
argentina worked to win that game. Yesterday there were no
(14:33):
handouts from, anyone in my, Opinion so they just seem
to have this maniacal way of getting. Results whether it's,
ugly it could be, beautiful it could be we're going
to Foul england and try to just cause a ruckus
in the first fifteen minutes of the. Game but you
hear it on the broadcast, yesterday is like after the
(14:55):
second half, Started messi just started getting into the, game
finding the pockets where where he needed to, be AND
i Think england just got a little bit, tired and
Then england. Scores all of a, Sudden messi some demon
awakens in.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Him and, SAYS i am not losing. Today all, Right
well we got two minutes to. Go So argentina Versus Spain, sunday.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Go, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Spain they are.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Fantastic they've only conceded one goal in the entire, tournament
which is beyond, impressive and they're doing it without really
a proven. Superstar they've got, You me And La mall
who's nineteen years, old will be the next. Superstar it's
his chance to kind of Say i'm the, Youngster i'm left.
FOOTED i play a similar role That messi did used
(15:45):
to At barcelona and Now i'm At. BARCELONA i want
to be the next greatest. Thing they've done it with
a workman like mentality and their possession BASED i guess
style of play has proven to be effective once. Again
they won The European championships last time. Around now they
find themselves in a final once, again and when they
(16:06):
go up one, nothing they're not Like england where they're
gonna sit back and just. Defend they will continue to
pass you to. Death and that is the most dangerous
thing For argentina in this. One If spain goes up
one nothing or to, NOTHING i don't Think argentina has
a way back into this one because their ability to
keep the ball is unmatched in this entire. Tournament So
(16:27):
argentina's got their work cut out for. Him but as we've,
seen if you HAVE messi on the, pitch you have a.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Chance phenomenal stuff as, Always and, yes on one, hand
a little sad that we just have the one big.
MATCH i know they play for third place On. Saturday
but on the other, hand you've got rest in your
very near. Future you just got to get through this. Week.
Brad i'm. Excited, well thanks, again, Man i'm. Excited we
(16:53):
really appreciate you coming on. Here great stuff as, always
and we probably will bug you one more time once
this thing's.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Over, yep we'll talk to you after this weekend, done
and we'll break we'll break it all.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Down, okay Thanks. Brad, Guys Brad evans joining us right
here On chuck And buck in the. Mornings sounders by the,
way playing today, tonight seven. Thirty if there was a
little extra, TIME i was going to Ask brad about,
that but we're up against it because we got to
get out to the old golf. Tournament that's. Right we
got a fourth and final. Major it's happening as we.
(17:29):
Speak ashley AND i don't get a lot of live
sporting events when we come to, work so it's always
a treat to have a major on in the. Background,
yeah it's.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
FUN i just watched D Chambeau birdie two times in a.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Row it's actually been pretty good today LAST i. Checked
so let's go get an update From Royal birkdale In
southport right here On Sports radio ninety three point THREE. Kjrfm.
Cool so The shamba's going to play well today and
(18:10):
the tournament that he's supposed to struggle, in this is
the one he's going to do well.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
In, yeah of, course because he was supposed to be
good in the other two and he was. Terrible and
then this one where it's not about bombing a long,
drive it's about being really. Accurate, yeah apparently going to crush.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
It, yeah, yeah really weird. Man that's that's, right that's on.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
Brand, right that's golf.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Yep, yeah four. Under he's tied for the lead at
The Open, championship which will keep you up to date
on throughout the course of the show. Today and, HEY
i know a lot of people love doing their little
gambling on golf these. Days Talala Brazort casino is. HOME i,
MEAN i hope some people took advantage of our advice
to head on up there and watch the soccer. Matches
(18:50):
the last couple of, days at least one of the two.
Days and now you've got golf all week and? Long
why not why not tell you know the, spout you
know what the kids are tucked. Away i'm going to
head overnight To Tulayla Psort, casino watch some golf and
put some money On bryson To. Shambo who's going to
(19:11):
dominate this.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
Weekend it's a great.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
PLAN i don't know IF i would keep the money
On bryson To, shamba but you know, WHAT i like
the idea of going overnight To.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
Tullylip and here's a thing that would be.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Fun, actually, yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
It would Be think about This.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Sunday you've got The World Cup, final, Yeah, Mariners giants
and The Open.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
Championship do you have enough TV's in your own home
to watch all those? Things?
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Doubtful and do you have a sports book within walking
distance in your? House inside your? House? DOUBTFUL i mean
maybe you, have maybe you're Like DeVante adams and you
have a taco, Bill but do you have a sports?
Book probably?
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Not.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Doubtful drafting sports book At Talala Presort. Casino they're waiting
for You Tulala Presort. Casino when all you want is
everything all? Right so The mariners get started again On
friday against The San Francisco. GIANTS i do like that
baseball gives a true break To Major League baseball. Team
so That's, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Thursday that's four full days
(20:06):
off for most, teams almost all teams In Major League,
baseball and The mariners being one of, them and the
fact that they only had One All, star everybody got
to kind of. Refresh and so hopefully we'll have a
refresh team that hits the ground, running as we've already
talked about on the show so far this, morning and
there's no excuse not to The giants and The reds
(20:29):
await at. HOME i would think you're going to do.
Well the schedule sets up for you to get off
to a good. Start but how will we? START i
mean this pitching, rotation which has been the strength of
the team again this. Season hasn't been every, season but
most seasons are. Starting pitching is the strength of the.
Team and so they've been very good so far this,
(20:53):
year not quite, great but very. Good and yet we've talked,
more we've had more hand, ringing more converse about how
to set the rotation than anything else about this. Team
we've had an offense that struggled and a defensive, struggled
but we spent more time trying to figure out what
the rotation is going to look like in the first
half of the season than anything else it feels. Like
(21:14):
and so as we get ready to start the second,
half the organization and this will be an organizational decision
for all of Those dan's just a. Puppet they'll all
sit down and they'll figure out what is the exact
sequence we want to start the second. Half and it's
not always what you. Think you always think to, yourself
will you go with your first your best, pitcher and
(21:35):
then the second best, pitcher and you're, right this is
your chance to reset the. Rotation, well they don't do.
THAT i mean even The, giants they're not going with
all Star Logan web in their first game or tight
Pants Robbie, ray who's been pretty good this year. Too
they're going With land And Roop. Friday that's who they're
starting the second half. With and so The mariner is
going to have a similar. Decision they have not yet
(21:56):
announced their rotation plans for the start of the second.
Half so that's what we'll. Do here. Today i've already
said THAT i Think Brian wu should start tomorrow. Night
that should be your first starter of the second half
of the. Season not because he's been the best pitcher
so far for the team this. Year as a matter of,
fact it's probably been the fifth. Best but obviously there's
(22:17):
some definitive home and road. Splits and even though we
Need Brian wu to be successful on the road and
we're not going to abandon that, project truth of the
matter is he's just been fantastic at. Home so why
not take advantage of. That you've got six games to
start the second half of the. SEASON i believe they're
(22:39):
gonna settle on a five man, rotation no matter whose
feelings that, hurt whose feelings get hurt over? That and to,
ME i Go Brian wu in game number one so
that he can pitch two home games for you in
the sixth before we hit the, road and then when
we're on the, Road, ASHLEY i want the other. FOUR
(23:01):
i Want, Gilbert, Miller kirby And. Hancock because the first
road series is against The Texas, rangers who have decided
to be our chief opponent for the divisional race this.
Year The astros are still there, too and SO i
want to stack those four together for that. Series and
IF i were to put them in, SEQUENCE i could
(23:25):
Go gilbert Or miller first or, Second kirby, third and
Then i'd Go handcock, last because he's of course got
the hand, injury so let's Give let's have him pitch
last of the, five and Then castillo is my guy
out of the rotation and moved into the. Bullpen my guess, is,
though they'll Go, Gilbert, kirby Then, miller and Then. Handcock
(23:48):
that would be my guess for what we're gonna do
coming out of the second.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
Half, Yeah AND i would THINK i would think if
they were Moving george And bryce around a little, bit
that they could Go, Gilbert, Miller. Kirby BUT i do
think they'd give this in the situation where all guys
are kind of, EQUAL i think they'd give the.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
Seniority earlier in the, rotation.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
They always seem to Give george the, nod And george finished,
strong finished the first half. Strong so my guess IS
i think they will GO i, mean not only DO
i think it's my. PREFERENCE i think they will Go woo. First,
yeah and THEN i think they'll Go Gilbert, Kirby, Miller.
Handcock and the, biggest the biggest component of, this which
is WHAT i probably should have led, with is THAT
(24:34):
i think that they are going to go five man,
rotation and Maybe i'll end up being. SURPRISED i think
the piggyback has been. FLUSHED i don't think that we're
going to see the piggyback used. AGAIN i Think Luis
castillo is being told over the at some point during
this break four, days he's probably already been, told or
he's getting ready to be, told we're going to move
(24:54):
you to the. Bullpen you'll be long. Relief we might
put you back toward the back of the back, end
we might work you toward high leverage before the season
comes to a, close but we'll go long relief for right,
now and that way you can stay stretched out in
(25:14):
clay case we do have an injury at some point
in the second, half as best we. Can BUT i
think that's the decision that they're going to. Make we'll
find out probably, tomorrow because they don't they're not going
to give us any information in. Advance BUT i do
believe they're going to go to a five man. ROTATION
i think the experimentation is over with a, piggyback AND
(25:35):
i think the mister nice guy with a six man
rotation is over as. Well and if you do need
a starting, pitcher let's Say Luis castillo isn't stretched out
anymore a month from, now when you need an extra starting,
Pitcher Kate anderson's going to be that guy or could
be that. Guy so that's my expectation for how they'll
set the.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
ROTATION i, mean and that makes the most sense to.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Me the ONLY i just don't think we Can we
can't come back can be messing around still with the
idea of a six man rotation because we can't make
up our. MINDS i, MEAN i feel like you've had enough,
time you've seen, Enough you've seen every possibility you could,
see except for the idea of the roadent home piggyback
With Police castillo And Brian wood like that would be
the only other THING i could see you coming up
(26:18):
with if you wanted to try one more.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
Thing but enough with the six man rotation and enough
with the regular.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
Piggyback, YEAH i, Agree AND i think that they're at
that place. TOO i THINK i Think dan struggled with
not knowing exactly how to do. THIS i think he
struggled with his bullpen pieces to begin, with and then
when you go six man, rotation now all of a,
sudden he's got one less guy coming out of the,
bullpen which apparently is like solving time travel For Dan,
(26:47):
wilson the most difficult thing.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Ever.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Yeah and then the PIGGYBACK i think is also one
of those Where Ah price is on a. ROLL i
really got to take him. Out, yeah we, decided SO
i think they're gonna flush, that so that would BE i,
Guess and that's kind of The that's the frustrating part
about it is that When Bryce miller got, ACTIVATED i
think the feeling Was luis is our sixth best, Starter
(27:12):
and then we did all of, this all these, machinations
got to The All star break just to Realize Luis
castillo is our sixth best, start.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
Right it took us a while to get.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
There.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Yeah, Yeah and so let the second half. Begin we'll
see how they decide to map it. Out But i'd START.
Wu i'd START wu tomorrow night Against land And roup
and The giants all, right coming up next on the,
Program Big day here for The crack and. Flagship but
we've got our schedule, release and we have a little
bit of information that we can share in case you

(28:21):
point three k j R. Fm and we know a few.
Things we can share a few things with. You we
do know that The krack and are going to play
eighty four games this, year so they've added. Too because
if there's anything about the hockey season we've all, known
it's that it's way too.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
SHORT i will say, though at least they didn't just
add two regular season games and not make any other.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
Changes At least they took away from the. Preseason that.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Helps that does. Help but going to eighty four games
this year and then they will have the two In,
finland we already knew. That so they'll have their Two
finland games The Coppo Coaco, Bowl so that's going to
be a part of the schedule this. Year we also
know that they're going to open on the road and
they're going to open In calgary On october, first so
(29:10):
taking on The flames to start the. SEASON i don't know,
why but until YESTERDAY i really thought because every YEAR
i Say i'm going to go To calgary and watch The. Cracker,
yeah AND i still have not done it. YET i
even got my passport last year renewed AND i still
haven't done. It BUT i do want to go To.
Calgary but until, YESTERDAY i, Thought i'm just going to
(29:34):
hop on a train And i'm going to go To.
Calgary that sounds. Wonderful you know how long that. IS
i love. Trains it's, Fine i'm going to go on
a train ride To. Calgary it's just one province. Over
and THEN i was told yesterday that is a twenty
eight hour train. Ride.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
YEAH i felt bad because it seemed like your dreams
got crushed a little, bit a little, bit and then
you were, Like, okay Then, Vancouver i'll go To.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
Vancouver on the.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
TRAIN i will go To vancouver on the. Train BUT
i thought, THAT i mean forgre to be. Lengthy, yeah
but twenty eight. Hours you should be able to get
To toronto in twenty eight hours for goodness, sake twenty
eight hours just one province? Over are you kidding?
Speaker 4 (30:15):
ME i know it is crazy because you think about.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
It.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Though they have to, stop and you know they go
slow through certain towns you're not, Crossing, yeah all sorts of.
THINGS a train, ride in theory seems like it should
be a really efficient way to.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
Go it's.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
Not it's really it's. RELAXING i, mean because apparently it's
eleven and a half hour.
Speaker 4 (30:35):
Drive, no it was only it said it was like
six and a.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
Half he said eleven and a.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
HALF i think it's like six and a half hours to.
Drive MAYBE i was.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Wrong, NO i think it's eleven Inn, okay eleven and
a half hour. Drive but a twenty eight hour train.
Ride how should these trains go in these? Days?
Speaker 4 (30:53):
Yeah oh, yeah, yeah eleven almost eleven and a half hour.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Drive but, yeah we need some of these bullet TRAINS
i keep hearing.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
ABOUT i, mean a car's got to, stop and you'd
think a train would have a more direct, route you would.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
THINK i don't, know only there are a lot of
stop signs or old ladies in the slow lane.
Speaker 4 (31:11):
When a train's.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
Coming you're in the car stopped for the. Train the
train doesn't stop for.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
You, WELL i will not be taking a train ride To,
Calgary i'm, sorry BUT i will The. Vancouver, yeah the
home opener is going to Be, Sunday october, fourth and
that's going to Be calgary. Again and, YES i do
pronounce It calgary to be obnoxious at five o'clock start
on the home opener On, Sunday october. Fourth what do
you think about A sunday home opener that?
Speaker 4 (31:38):
Idea, yeah ACTUALLY i do like that, idea AND i
THINK i like. That it's at five, o'clock so it's
not a seven o'clock. Game it's you, know you can it's.
Primetime it's. Primetime i'm looking forward to it Primetime.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Sunday although NOW i got.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
To think about. It what's The seahawks?
Speaker 3 (31:53):
Schedule we're going to have both TVs are going to
be working hard On.
Speaker 4 (31:56):

Speaker 1 (31:57):
That what is The seahawks schedule on the?
Speaker 4 (31:59):

would Be, no it's The chargers at.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
Home, okay see that looks that's.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
Perfect you're a little double.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Dip, yeah you can go to Loom And field because
we can call it that. Again and then you can
just take The sounder, okay First Link light or whatever it,
is right up To westlake and then you can hop
on the monorail and you can go over TO.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
CPA i do like the, option AND i realized not
a lot of people take advantage of, it AND i understand,
it BUT i do like that option of just LIKE
i can go watch football game and The kraken on
the exact same. Day, YEAH i think THAT'S i think that's.
Cool and, yeah it doesn't mean that if you don't do,
it you're not. COOL i just think that's.
Speaker 4 (32:42):
Cool it means you're less cool than those that do.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
It and then Those finland games will Be november twelfth
and thirteenth against The Stanley cup Champion Carolina. Hurricanes so,
yeah we're going.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
To kick their.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Butts they've got to build a pack ticket pack which
will go on sale at ten am starting this. Morning
AM i allowed to talk about that right?
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Now the ticket pack stuff we can we can share
yet because we've got they sent it to, me SO
i assume that.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
That's, yeah this is the best way to secure tickets
to the games you, want including that home opener On october.
Fourth so a lot of different. OPTIONS i won't go
over all of them for you right. Now we'll go
over a few more a little bit later on in the.
Show But Brandon montour will join us at nine point
thirty this, morning it's been a while since we've chatted with.
(33:28):
Him and then at ten o'clock today the schedule will
be out and certainly we'll have the, information all the
information you can handle. Today so Is ian going to
host the ten o'clock show today or Is greg going
to be the man?

Responsible, Actually ian's out this, week BUT i Think benton
is in this.
