there's a lot of fans that get pissed off. They
say they spend too much time worrying about all the

they spent, but guess what those sell tickets. That brings
the on traditional fan in. It grows your fan base,
and they do a terrific job with it. That has

nothing to do those people that are brilliant there. They
have nothing to do with the fact that Jason Robertson
doesn't want to come and play here right, or that
Shane Wright can't take that next step and is getting
dangerously close to Jared Kelnick levels. I mean, that has
nothing to do with it. Same with the Mariners, right,
they do a great job on the business side.

Should they stop trying to get people to go to
the park for artificial reasons? I mean no, you know,
I mean it's not costing them any money, it's not
coming out of the player budget, you know. Should they
stop doing that just because it seems silly to die
hard baseball fans that just want a great baseball team.

God help us. But no, she you know, she grew
up a Marrion fan and a Wazoo fan. What what

wanted to start with your least favorite or the worst
Mariner of all time. And we've gotten a lot of feedback,

want to bring up some NFL news and notes because
there is some really interesting stuff going on around our
division last night, particularly the Cardinals showcase Jordan excuse me,
Carson Beck for the very first time, and he performed

really well. And that's really what this season's going to
be like for the Arizona Cardinals. They're over under in
Vegas as three and a half wins. I mean, that
is as low as I can remember a team starting
a season, Yikes, where they're over undertotal. I mean it's
usually like the standard for the worst is four to

four and a half five that's usually the standard. They've
got them at three and a half wins going into
this season, and so this this year really is because
about them identifying whether or not they have their quarterback
and whether or not they have their head coach.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
That's what this season's going to be about. And if
they could somehow solve the quarterback issue, if Carson Beck
ends up being something that they feel. Now, keep in mind,
this is the guy I was never really impressed, even
when people were saying he's going to be the future
number one overall pick in the draft.

I wasn't buying it at the time. But that's where
a lot of mel Kipers of the world were projecting him.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
After his first couple of years at Georgia and then
of course he slides a little bit at Georgia, has
to transfer to Miami, and then goes to the National
Championship game for goodness sake and restored his stock a
little bit. They end up getting him in the third round.
But this is somebody not long ago that people thought
was going to be a future number one overall pick
in the draft. So if the Cardinals can find out

that Carson Beck is their quarterback this year, man, that
takes a big load off of them. Then again, uh,
if they don't discover that, which maybe a lot of
Cardinal fans are rooting for, and they're gonna have a
down year, then they have the opportunity to get somebody
that actually is one one of a draft that actually

is coming out of college on a heater and coming
into the National Football League with you know, Fernando Mendoza
like expectations. So this year will be about whether or
not we've hired the right coach and whether or not
we Carson Beck could be our quarterbacks are probably the
two most important things actually that the Cardinals are going
to try to.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Figure out this year.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
Yeah, and if they end up having their quarterback, well,
then people are going to say, oh, well, maybe that
edition of Jeremila wasn't as crazy as we thought it was.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Yeah, and then and then if you still end up
being bad, but you found your quarterback and you have Love,
who they've already announced he's not gonna have a huge rule.
He's not going to be running back one this year
because they're gonna they they realize they're not gonna win
this year. We're not gonna waste bullets on Jeremiah Love
until we're ready to be better. And then by next year,
you know, maybe we're we've got a different story, but

you can determine we've got Love. We're not gonna overuse
we found back, and then if we end up with
a high draft pick, maybe even the number one overall
pick next year, and get Jeremiah Smith out of Ohio State,
now all of a sudden, you got something cooking if
you're the Cardinals. So certainly this is gonna be a
learning year, trying to figure out what we have that works,

and then just getting rid of as much as we
can that doesn't work. In the offseason San Francisco forty
nine ers man, there was an assistant coach that kind
of went out his way to tell everybody in the
last twenty four hours, we're not as injured as what
people are telling everyone. The stories are exaggerated, that they

have their normal nix and bruises of training camp, and
that's really all that it is.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
But the stories are really large, like they are.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Bold statements that twenty forty nine ers are already hurt
in their camp, and if you remember to a year ago,
it's the reason why I thought they weren't going to
be good last year. I just don't think their players
can stay healthy. I mean, yeah, Bosa Warner, Williams, Kittle,

McCaffrey when they have them all together, still a dangerous team.
Those are you know, potential Hall of famers that they
still have, But that's been years since they've.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
Been able to keep those guys healthy on a consistent basis.
And my guess is that it won't be the same
guys that are hurt all season long, but two or
three of them. I don't think that they can stay healthy.
And I don't think it has anything to do with
a substation, but maybe it does.

And if you're already, you know, kind of hamstrung by
a bunch of injury plague players and you've got twenty
injuried players already one week into camp.

I predicted that the forty nine ers were gonna crash
and burn last year.

They didn't.
Speaker 4 (26:15):
I think they're going to this year, though I would
rather be a year early on a prediction, Ashley, than
a year late. I think the forty nine ers are
getting ready for some really hard times, and I think
they're finally gonna feel those effects in the win loss
column this season.

Yeah, it's felt like they're kind of like cockroaches, right.
They've just been able to survive anything and still be successful,
and most teams it would completely crumble you the injuries
that they've dealt with over the past couple of years.
And I thought last year too they were gonna suck,
and boys this year it did not. So yeah, I
hope they suck this year, but not in Game one.
I want them to be great in Game one because

they're in Australia week early and they're gonna trounce the
Rams and then they can suck after that and.

Their injury history there, they'll probably have like eleven players
get bit by one of those gigantic Australian like wolf spiders.

They'll get in the wide receiver tent and take them

about the Rams as well. Obviously the story there is
Aaron Donald. He worked out apparently blew everyone away. I'm
not surprised by that. I'm just going to reiterate something
I said earlier about Aaron Donald. I don't think he's
coming back to win a Super Bowl. I mean, if
he wanted to win another Super Bowl, he would have

come back at some point last year and joined that team.

And maybe would have been the difference.

Considering how close the Seahawks and Rams were in their quality,
he might have been able to make the difference. I
don't think it's about him winning another super Bowl. I
think Aaron Donald wants to scratch the itch that what
kind of a player could I be if I'm not
getting double triple teamed on every single play? And if
Miles Garrett is there, he's at least going to get

a double team, which means I won't be triple team.
So I would like to see, while I still am
young enough to do it, how great a season I
could have if I didn't have to deal with the
frustration of every offense building their game plan around keeping
me contained. Yeah, So in order to be that though

two years removed, in order for him to find that out,
he's gotta be the same Aaron Donald that he was
when he retired, and after two years that might be
an impossibility.

They might be impressed by him, and they might say, Wow,
I can't believe how good you look considering you were
two years out. That's not gonna be good enough. Donald's

they do a great job on the business side.

Should they stop trying to get people to go to

You know, his like he's eating food he was. It's early,

And just when he was he was chirping at Christian
Caple was with the p I i think at the time,
and Chris Crabtree were in there. He just, you know,
he picks on those guys. He just was a He
was a punk and and just a bad dude, right
and bad baseball player that got overpaid.

One, Bill Plummer manager, Bill Plumber manager, Oh boy, because

Mariner of all time. And we've gotten a lot of feedback,

want to bring up some NFL news and notes because
there is some really interesting stuff going on around our
division last night, particularly the Cardinals showcase Jordan excuse me,
Carson Beck for the very first time, and he performed

really well. And that's really what this season's going to
be like for the Arizona Cardinals. They're over under in
Vegas as three and a half wins. I mean, that
is as low as I can remember a team starting
a season, Yikes, where they're over undertotal. I mean it's
usually like the standard for the worst is four to
(21:51):
four and a half five that's usually the standard. They've
got them at three and a half wins going into
this season, and so this this year really is because
about them identifying whether or not they have their quarterback
and whether or not they have their head coach.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
That's what this season's going to be about. And if
they could somehow solve the quarterback issue, if Carson Beck
ends up being something that they feel. Now, keep in mind,
this is the guy I was never really impressed, even
when people were saying he's going to be the future
number one overall pick in the draft.

I wasn't buying it at the time. But that's where
a lot of mel Kipers of the world were projecting him.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
After his first couple of years at Georgia and then
of course he slides a little bit at Georgia, has
to transfer to Miami, and then goes to the National
Championship game for goodness sake and restored his stock a
little bit. They end up getting him in the third round.
But this is somebody not long ago that people thought
was going to be a future number one overall pick
in the draft. So if the Cardinals can find out
(22:56):
that Carson Beck is their quarterback this year, man, that
takes a big load off of them. Then again, uh,
if they don't discover that, which maybe a lot of
Cardinal fans are rooting for, and they're gonna have a
down year, then they have the opportunity to get somebody
that actually is one one of a draft that actually
(23:19):
is coming out of college on a heater and coming
into the National Football League with you know, Fernando Mendoza
like expectations. So this year will be about whether or
not we've hired the right coach and whether or not
we Carson Beck could be our quarterbacks are probably the
two most important things actually that the Cardinals are going
to try to.

Figure out this year.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
Yeah, and if they end up having their quarterback, well,
then people are going to say, oh, well, maybe that
edition of Jeremila wasn't as crazy as we thought it was.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Yeah, and then and then if you still end up
being bad, but you found your quarterback and you have Love,
who they've already announced he's not gonna have a huge rule.
He's not going to be running back one this year
because they're gonna they they realize they're not gonna win
this year. We're not gonna waste bullets on Jeremiah Love
until we're ready to be better. And then by next year,
you know, maybe we're we've got a different story, but

you can determine we've got Love. We're not gonna overuse
we found back, and then if we end up with
a high draft pick, maybe even the number one overall
pick next year, and get Jeremiah Smith out of Ohio State,
now all of a sudden, you got something cooking if
you're the Cardinals. So certainly this is gonna be a
learning year, trying to figure out what we have that works,
(24:33):
and then just getting rid of as much as we
can that doesn't work. In the offseason San Francisco forty
nine ers man, there was an assistant coach that kind
of went out his way to tell everybody in the
last twenty four hours, we're not as injured as what
people are telling everyone. The stories are exaggerated, that they
(24:57):
have their normal nix and bruises of training camp, and
that's really all that it is.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
But the stories are really large, like they are.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Bold statements that twenty forty nine ers are already hurt
in their camp, and if you remember to a year ago,
it's the reason why I thought they weren't going to
be good last year. I just don't think their players
can stay healthy. I mean, yeah, Bosa Warner, Williams, Kittle,

McCaffrey when they have them all together, still a dangerous team.
Those are you know, potential Hall of famers that they
still have, But that's been years since they've.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
Been able to keep those guys healthy on a consistent basis.
And my guess is that it won't be the same
guys that are hurt all season long, but two or
three of them. I don't think that they can stay healthy.
And I don't think it has anything to do with
a substation, but maybe it does.

And if you're already, you know, kind of hamstrung by
a bunch of injury plague players and you've got twenty
injuried players already one week into camp.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
I predicted that the forty nine ers were gonna crash
and burn last year.

They didn't.
Speaker 4 (26:15):
I think they're going to this year, though I would
rather be a year early on a prediction, Ashley, than
a year late. I think the forty nine ers are
getting ready for some really hard times, and I think
they're finally gonna feel those effects in the win loss
column this season.

Yeah, it's felt like they're kind of like cockroaches, right.
They've just been able to survive anything and still be successful,
and most teams it would completely crumble you the injuries
that they've dealt with over the past couple of years.
And I thought last year too they were gonna suck,
and boys this year it did not. So yeah, I
hope they suck this year, but not in Game one.
I want them to be great in Game one because

they're in Australia week early and they're gonna trounce the
Rams and then they can suck after that and.

Their injury history there, they'll probably have like eleven players
get bit by one of those gigantic Australian like wolf spiders.

Perfect, exactly Australia. They need to be around things that

They'll get in the wide receiver tent and take them

about the Rams as well. Obviously the story there is
Aaron Donald. He worked out apparently blew everyone away. I'm
not surprised by that. I'm just going to reiterate something
I said earlier about Aaron Donald. I don't think he's
coming back to win a Super Bowl. I mean, if
he wanted to win another Super Bowl, he would have

come back at some point last year and joined that team.

And maybe would have been the difference.

Considering how close the Seahawks and Rams were in their quality,
he might have been able to make the difference. I
don't think it's about him winning another super Bowl. I
think Aaron Donald wants to scratch the itch that what
kind of a player could I be if I'm not
getting double triple teamed on every single play? And if
Miles Garrett is there, he's at least going to get

a double team, which means I won't be triple team.
So I would like to see, while I still am
young enough to do it, how great a season I
could have if I didn't have to deal with the
frustration of every offense building their game plan around keeping
me contained. Yeah, So in order to be that though

two years removed, in order for him to find that out,
he's gotta be the same Aaron Donald that he was
when he retired, and after two years that might be
an impossibility.

I can't believe how good you look considering you were
