Speaker 1 (00:00):
But Hugh is here. Never fear Millan is here. How
are you, man?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
What's happening? Boys? I'm well, well, we're just.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
We're getting set for the second half of this weird, frustrating, disappointing,
aggravating baseball season. But one thing, at least for me,
and I can't speak for you, but at least for me,
this has not been a boring season.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
I think what we.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Saw two years ago, where every single time the Mariners
took the field, we knew exactly what we were gonna get.
We were gonna get great starting pitching, we were gonna
get great defense, and we were gonna get absolutely zero offense,
and we were either gonna lose three to two or
we were gonna win three to two And we didn't
quite win enough three to two games to make the playoffs,

(00:45):
because despite winning ninety.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
They didn't quite make enough to make the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
So this one, to me is just this season, for
me is the gift that keeps on giving. Because there
is some bizarre scenario, some runner running ahea head of
a ground ball, some Josh Naylor throwing it into the dirt,
some Randy A Rosarina not running to.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Catch a foul ball on a weekly basis.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
I mean, there's something to talk about with this baseball
team every single day, and that for me as a
talk show host, I like that a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
You can throw in the piggyback.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Totally forgot the piggy back.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Right, So yeah, I'm not sure all of those topics
are welcomed and whether or not that's your objective just
to be in the news, you know. I think that
where the Mariners had kind of shoved the bar on
the virtue of last year. Obviously everybody's expected a lot
more and just kind of looking at these numbers, this

(01:46):
doesn't sound exciting to me. A year ago the Mariners
were seven forty ops, which was tenth solid. Solid. This
year they're twenty seventh in the league. They're slugging. They
were also tenth. They're twenty eighth in slugging. Here's something, Okay,
So this year they're fifteenth in home runs fifteenth out

(02:09):
of thirty. What do you think they were last year?
Tenth third? Oh yeah, obviously with cal driving that okay,
so they go they fall from fifteen to third. This
year they're twenty ninth in doubles. What do you think
they were last year.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Oh double Julio had a lot last year, But I don't.
They've never really been a doubles ta I want to
say twenty second.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, now, but I was trying to fool you. A
good job on you to not be fool never really
they were also twenty ninth, so okay, so like they're
still so when we say they that they got to
hit home runs, that's two straight years where twenty ninth
is second to last, right in Major League Baseball. So
then and then here's here's another thing that their runs

(02:59):
above average as attributed to range. Now I'm going to
the defense defense.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Oh boy, oh boy.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
The median is two, the range is plus thirty five
to minus twenty four.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Where are the Mariners minus twenty four.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Minus twenty four d f L.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
I mean that's an easy one.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Haffing last in range. So all the hand ringing about
the range, there's at least one stat to to to
and then arm. You know, it is not much better
that they have the same stat runs above average measuring
the arm strength. So we're twenty first, so we don't
cover there's a lot of ground. We don't have a
lot of arms to whistle you out. So I don't know.

(03:45):
I think there's no I didn't say the good stuff
on the pitching, and even that we found a way
to turn a strength into somewhat of a mini circus.
So yeah, far from expected where we are right now.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
And I think a lot of this will take care
of itself if and win. And it almost looks more
like if then it does win. Uh, cal Rawley gets
back to not the cal Rawley at twenty twenty five
that I flushed that at the end of twenty twenty five.
I mean, I just told myself we will never see
that again, we will never see cal Raley again. And
I said all off season, all I want is the

(04:19):
cal Ralely that I got before twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
That's all I need from cal Rawley.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
So I'm interrupted, Sorry, Dick, So okay, so so had
maybe you did on the air, but if you had
been forced to say, okay, closest to the pin, pick
the number of home runs for cal Rawly down to
the digit forty, for.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Which was still more than many more than he had
two years ago. I think he was at thirty two
years ago. So I picked forty. But I would have
been fine anywhere in the low thirty. I just wanted
to see the col that we saw before. And I
was thinking, you know what Seattle sports megastar And I think,
you know, Cal wasn't a megastar until he became a megastar.

(05:02):
But you finished second the MVP voting, you set the
all time home run record for catchers. You're a megastar
for at least a short period of time. What Seattle
sports megastar has ever had a slump like the last
three months for Cal Raley. I mean I was going
through I mean, Vin Baker wasn't a megastar, but he
was a star and he went through a huge slump.
We found out that that was probably just the end
of Vin Baker instead of just a slump.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
And who knows this maybe the end of Cal ray Well.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
I think the greatest professional athlete in Seattle sports history,
just one man's opinion is Ken Griffey Jr. Because you know,
I think of largent. Was he ever considered the best receiver?
Even let's let's let's be very charitable and say yes,
was he ever considered the best in football? The best
football player in the entire NFL? No? No, Uh, who's

(05:49):
the best sonic of all time. I mean, I I
had a Spencer Haywood poster him on my wall when
I was you know, in the early seventies, I've seen him.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
A lot of people wud say Gary.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Okay, so was Gary? Was there ever a day where
people say Gary is the best player in the NBA?
You get where I'm going, right, There's only one professional
athlete where you'd say, not only is the best center fielder,
he's the best in the game. Yes, And and most
people know is there a unanimous consensus? I don't know
who's doing the voting, but it was at least a

(06:25):
uh maybe consensus. That's probably a U turns, but you
know what I mean, there was a consensus, if not unanimous.
So so in any event, I look at at where
they are now, and and you know with with Griffy
that he set that bar who's gonna Who's gonna catch it?

(06:46):
And I totally just lost my train of thought.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
I was, yeah, yeah, scriving through a big slump. But
he didn't go through it here, you know he I mean,
he never went through a slump here. He went through
a big slump in Cincinnati. But Griffy's slump and Cincinnati
didn't equate what cal Rawley is doing here. But you know,
we'll have Luke greatly on the show a little bit
later on. We'll talk a little bit more baseball a
little bit later on. I heard you on with Chuck today.

(07:11):
And this kind of coincides with an email I just
got from the boss Man about this time of year,
The boss sends out the Fox Sports college football preview
and it's just in you know, email form, and it's
like a monster book in email form, right of college
football preview, and I love to pour over it.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
I love.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
First thing I always do is, okay, where they got ranked?
Where they got the Huskies ranked? Right, That's the first
thing we always do when we open up those magazines
where they got the Huskies rank.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
They actually have the Huskies ranked thirteenth in America.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
And what was funny was the paragraph description that they
had of the Huskies.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Now, well, it's a sandwich, right.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
The meat of the sandwich is all the great things
that the Huskies got going for him. You know, top
twenty in offense, top twenty in defense last year, they
got most of the guys coming back, all that sort
of stuff.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
What's interesting is.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
The bread Hugh the beginning and the end of this paragraph.
Here's the beginning. It's a tale as old as time.
Quarterback has a breakout season. Quarterback signs a four million
dollar revenue sharing contract to remain with the team. Four
days later, quarterback publicly announces his intent to transfer, his team,
threatens legal action. Quarterback rejoins with his tail between his legs,
promising publicly that he's fully committed, and retakes the practice

(08:17):
field like nothing ever happened. Welcome to College Football, twenty
twenty six. That was the opening salvo of the paragraph,
and that at the end all these sources of optimism
could be quickly undone if there are any lingering effects
from the quarterbacks very public, albeit short lived mutiny of
his UDUB program and teammates.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
That was well written.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
By Fox Sports, and it leads me kind of to
a question I have for you that you were on
with Chuck today talking about Jed Fish's comments that he
had on a podcast this week, and I wanted to
get them correctly. His comments on the podcast about that
Dumont situation was quote, what I told our team is this.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
It's like in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Every now and then a guy says hey, I want
to trade, and then you say I'm not going to
trade you, and they come back and.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
They say love you.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
He continued the analogy by saying, sometimes you got a
franchise tag of guy. Sometimes you got to put in
tender on the guy and then you just keep moving.
He added that Williams had returned led the team and
was voted onto the team leadership council, saying he felt
good about his decision to stay. So your thoughts about
the concerns from Fox Sports and then also the comments
that Jed made publicly in a national podcast. I think

(09:28):
Erbin Meyer was on it, you know, a couple of
mark Ingram what was the host?

Speaker 2 (09:33):
I believe, Yeah, yeah, Well, I would say everything Jed
Fish said was sensible because he's trying to marshal this
team and to the extent that it's important and then
certainly is vital the leadership component of it. Now, he
tried to draw the NFL analogy, and he's talking to
kids that are aspiring to be in the NFL, and

(09:55):
he's trying to, in essence, say hey, cowboy up, you're
going to deal with this at the next level. The
thing is he he either misled details or grossly misrepresented details.
And let me tell you what I mean. What you
essentially have is what he's trying to parallel is is
a would be a quarterback requests a trade, gets denied,

(10:21):
gets no rais, and then has to come back and
start and then everybody's happy as he said. What was
the he says, and then they love you. Okay, So
let's see if we have any precedent for that. We've
had free agency for thirty two years, and I'm going
to touch on after this after a briefly before free agency,

(10:43):
but we're really talking about the free agency era, so
I'm not going to go through the years of this.
But Jay Cutler requested a trade for the Broncos. They
gave it to him. He got traded to Bear Donovic
McNabb went to the Eagles. I want to be traded.
He was trade to the Washington Redskins. At the time,
Carson Palmer bent to the Bengals. I want to be traded.

(11:06):
He was denied. He refused to play, sat out in
an entire year, then got traded after sitting out entire
Deshaun Watson Texans he requested the trade, got denied. He
had zero snaps the entire season. So you tell me
when you hear a situation that is in a material

(11:29):
sense parallel to what jeedfish, because right now we don't
have any boxes. Check. Matthew Stafford says, I want to
get traded from the Lions. He got traded to the Rams.
Matt Ryan went to the Falcons in twenty twenty two.
I want to get traded. He got traded the Colts.
Baker Mayfield went to the Browns. I want to be traded.
He was traded the Panthers. Lamar Jackson went to the

(11:51):
Ravens in twenty twenty three. I want to be traded.
He didn't trade him, but they gave him two hundred
and sixty million dollars after he okay, within five weeks,
they and he comes back a couple more. Aaron Rodgers
didn't really say publicly I want to be traded, there was,
it was kind of intimated. Well, the Packers came back,

(12:11):
restructured his contract, gave him an out clause that he
hadn't had before, and gave him more money. And then
Russell Wilson, you know, he said, well, I'm not requesting
a treat, but here's the four teams that that I
would be traded to a right even if you want
to throw that into a quasi well, he played. He
was went seven and ten. Yeah, and he was gone

(12:33):
in the year, and then and and and my last one.
I'll say, even before free agency, the closest thing that
you could find for Jetfish would be in nineteen ninety three,
Jeff George went to the Colts and said, I want
to be traded. They didn't trade him. They they didn't
give him more money, and they made him play. It

(12:55):
was a total disaster. He was booed from the beginning.
The Colts won four games, and he was traded the
next So here's the takeaway. The idea that Jedfish floated there,
that you could be requested Tony paid nothing and start
anyway and everybody's happy. In thirty two plus years has
happened exactly zero times.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
Okay, okay, now I never happened. I think that's a
fair point. I do think though, that Demond Williams has
so much to play for this year, he has his
future to play for. A lot of those guys already
were being paid a lot of money, already had the
track record that if they were to end up going

(13:35):
someplace else, they would be paid a lot of money.
The range of where DeMont Williams could be drafted in
the NFL draft, to me, is massive depending on how
he plays this season. Could I see best case scenario
DeMont Williams as a first round draft pick?

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Yes, I could.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
I've seen mock drafts, big name mock drafts, CBS Sports.
I've seen Demon Williams as a number of first.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Round draft pick.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
So I do think that I don't think he's a
first round pick, but I've seen mock drafts with his
name in it. Do I see a scenario where Demon
Williams has the type of season that you're alluding to,
not just saying that you're that you think he's gonna
have that type of year, but you're eluding that it's
certainly possible. If he has that type of year and
the Huskies go eight and four and Demon Williams does
absolutely nothing against Oregon and Indiana and USC and all

(14:28):
the high profile games, that dude could slide to the
fourth fifth round.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
He might not be drafted and have to come back
another season.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
So I mean, I just think he's got so much
to play for that he's gonna be motivated despite what
happened here.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Oh, I'm no. Part of my comment was saying he's
not gonna be motivated to have it to play well.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
And if he's motivated to play well, I think the
team's gonna be motivated to play.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Well for him.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
I thought the subject was Jedfish describing on a podcast
just a couple of days ago, Oh, what he told
the team and right. My comment is that Jedfish was
was wise to present it that way to try and
help gloss over and to help them on Williams, to
help the unity of his locker room. But it really

(15:17):
doesn't have a basis in fact, because he's talking about,
oh yeah, hey, this happens and then you come back
and then they love you. No, it doesn't. It doesn't
happen with quarterbacks. You can, he can cite other positions.
It does. It has never happened with quarterbacks. Now, does
that does that mean that that demon won't win the
Heisman Trophy and the Huskies win the national championship and

(15:40):
he'll be the first overall play No, all that could happen.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
You're just saying that's happened before. What he's saying has
happened before, you're saying has not happened before.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
That's I'm commenting on jedfish comment. I think he did
essentially the right thing by what he's saying. I'd probably
do the same thing if I was the coach trying
gloss this thing over pay But we're missing some really
important details. It's never happened with a quarterback in the
NFL at any rate. I think that for him as

(16:08):
as a player, you know, I think that Jedfish correct
me if I'm wrong. I think he's made a analogy
to Kyler Murray, who was the first overall pick. I
believe at some point that he's made that kind of reference,
whether it's his quickness or what have you. I would say,
for you, Demand Williams, you got to try and avoid

(16:29):
being a Dorian Thompson. Robinson dtr had a five you know,
five year career u c l A. His last year
he won, you know, he lost four games. I think
they lost five games. His last two years they lost
eight or nine games. He got drafted the third round,
very very very short lived NFL career. Now he's bouncing
around this UFL the Stallions. What have he got traded.

(16:52):
He was a backup in the in the UFL, like
like that's that's a real possibility for him. And so
there's some aspects of his game that we're not going
to get to we're at a commercial, but there's there's
some things he's really gonna have to pick it up
right now. I'd be surprised if if there are NFL
teams that have their their their summer draft board, that

(17:15):
if he was a number one pick on anybody's board,
that would shock me.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Back here Jimmy's on First, Mariners in the Giants couple
hours away talking a little football right now, though at
the beginning of the show and Hugh. We had Mike
Glorio on on Wednesday, and kind of out of the blue,
he brought up something that kind of raised your eyebrows
a little bit, but was at the very end of
the segment. We didn't have a chance to really talk
to him more about it. And it was actually a

(18:13):
take from Mike that I had heard previously a couple
of days prior that I was actually going to ask
him about, but he got to it first, and so
I thought, all right, let's just let's throw the.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Take out there for everybody to hear from his PFT show.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
Donald contract was set up to be a year to
year situation and the Seahawks could have escaped it after
one year if Donald just hadn't gotten.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
It done well.

Speaker 6 (18:38):
He did.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
And one of the things that doesn't get discussed very much.
He's due to make twenty seven to five. I believe
this year, maybe some incentives on the back end, and
it's kind of time to take care of the guy
that won you a Super Bowl, don't you think. But
under his current contract, they can pull the plug after
twenty twenty six if they want to. And Mayfield slated
to be a free agent, and the reason I'm intrigued
by this. One of the reasons that the Seahawks were

(19:02):
interested in Donald was they saw what Donald did to
the Seahawks when the Vikings were in Seattle in December
of twenty twenty four. It left a mark on the
Seahawks and it made them interested in Darnald Well. Last season,
when the Buccaneers went to Seattle, Baker Mayfield in a
thirty eight to thirty five win by the Buccaneers over

(19:23):
the eventual Super Bowl champions was twenty nine for thirty
three for three hundred and seventy nine yards, two touchdown passes,
and a one hundred and thirty four point seven passer rating.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
Now hard for the Seahawks to forget about that.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
So if Mayfield's great this year and Donald regresses new
offensive coordinator, who knows what's going.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
To happen, Well, Hugh, I'm gonna let you start on
this one. I'm going to let you start, and then
I'll give you my my take on what he's just think.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Well, I think technically he's right. I mean, he's hitting
all all of his comments are our most all of
his comments, I'll say, are factually correct. You know that
was the structure of the content tracked. It is factually
correct that Minnesota came in. And I remember going the
Vikings going to the south end zone and Sam Donold

(20:12):
climbing up in the pocket and while he's getting smoke
might have been by Leonard Williams, but you know, up
the left sideline he throws that back shoulder to Justin
Jefferson about the one yard line. Yeah, it was. It
was an incredible performance by by Donald. And can that
have an impact hasn't had an impact on Schneider and others? Yes,

(20:36):
But I feel like the last thing I'm thinking about
or talking about is the replacement for Sam Donald. I'm
looking at a guy twenty eight going on twenty nine,
two years younger than Baker Mayfield, and to me, it's
like all gas, no breaks, man, this dude's the quarterback.
And I'll deal with it if he somehow, you know,

(20:58):
turns into a pumpkin that we haven't seen. He's the
winning this quarterback in the NFL since twenty twenty two,
that covers four teams. His the percentage of his games
that are one hundred passer rating no more is number
one in the NFL. Like to me, He's just a
guy that was thought to be a great player coming

(21:22):
into the league, and you know, his third overall pick
and then his talent, you know, was overshadowed. They he
played too early. He's drafted as a twenty year old.
He was playing for the Jets. You know the offensive
coordinators he had with the Jets, both of them who
got when they got fired. They never coached in the
NFL again, do you know how rare that is? Offensive

(21:44):
coordinators usually slide down the roof. They you know, they
will pick you up as a tight end, coach or
a receiver. I it's a gradual phase out. No, those
guys were out. And you watched the Jet tape from
the years as I have. I remember that, you know,
the so called the the all I saw or I'm
seeing ghost game. That was a Patriot game. I went

(22:05):
back and studied the coaches tape of that. The Patriots
that year were number twelve and four, number one in
the NFL defensively in all meaningful statistics. Here's Sam Donald
that mono. He was out for five weeks. First week
he comes back, well it was actually the second week
he was coming back from mono. He you know, he
has to play the Patriots, and they were completely outmanned,

(22:29):
out gunned. That was a super Bowl team in the Patriots,
and and and they were so far ahead of Donald anyway,
So the perception was created. The reason I'm bringing that
up is the perception was created about his Jets performance.
And then he has dug out of that hole. Yes,
what do you expect anybody in life to do if

(22:49):
he digs his own hole, Grab a ladder, not a shovel.
That's exactly what he did. He got a ladder and
he climbed his ass out of that hole. And you know,
Christian McCaffrey was at Carolina, a teammate with him and
San Francisco. He has gone on to say, like when
you watch us, he go, oh my god, this is
a dude. Man, this, this guy's physical traits are off

(23:10):
the chain. So I don't know, to me love Mike Florio.
I'm envious of how articulate he is, you know, brilliant dude.
And I really love the segment that he has with
you guys, and when I am partaking the the interviews,
But I don't find myself being on an opposide, opposite

(23:32):
side of his reasoning. Very often to the degree that
I was the other day when he said.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
That, well, I'm glad you focus on Darnold because I'm
gona focus on the Mayfield side. And one thing that
he either failed to mention just because he failed to
mention it or because he didn't know. Let's review what
the Seattle Seahawks defense looked like that day in actives.
DeMarcus Lawrence, Julian Love, Devin Witherspoon injured during the game,

(24:03):
Derek Hall eight snaps into the first quarter, Reek Woollen concussion,
nick Eman Worry and Neemiah Pritchett collided at midfield. Both
went out for the rest of the game. They were
five to six starters down in that football game against
Baker Mayfield. And let's talk about something else about Baker Mayfield,

(24:24):
because Baker grew on me. There's no question about meeting
you know, Baker. Baker grew on me. End of last
end of twenty twenty four, first half of twenty twenty five.
Baker Mayfield from the week after he played Seattle, he
had another great game against San Francisco the week the
next week beat the Niners. Had one hundred and thirty
nine passer rating, then he played as a last the

(24:47):
last eleven games that Baker Mayfield has been on the field,
he has an eighty passer rating eight zero passer rating,
with fourteen touchdowns and ten interceptions. He has been as
pedestrian as pedestrian gets for the last eleven games, which
I cannot say about the Seahawks starting quarterback.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
All great points, Dick, I agree, I think those irrelevant.
I will add that was even Worry's first game coming
back from after he got hurt right in his fourth
play against the forty nine ers. And moreover, when when
you look at Baker Mayfield, there his uh uh that

(25:29):
that you know, he just he couldn't make the plays.
You know when you watch them. Uh, you know he's
a talented guy. Uh. I remember saying to you after
that game on on your your show here that if
if I had an MVP vote, now that was after
week five, right, So that's about the face that people

(25:51):
he was the favorite, he would be the betting favorite.
And I think in fact there was there was was.
I think I think he objectively, it's truly he was
the betting favorite. So yeah, he was. He was incredible,
But you know he's slid Meanwhile, Donald, you know, just
kept inclining to me. I'm just like, why would a
Seahawk fan be thinking about.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Getting rid of Erald?

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Is the replacing Sam Darnold with Baker Mayfield? That that
may happen, But by god do I have other things
to think about them?

Speaker 3 (27:08):
Kadi at bloem Tree and bluema Tree dot Com hit
them up today.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
All right, Hey, Hugh, did you hear that? What's that?

Speaker 3 (27:14):
Dick, Argentine broadcaster Pablo Girault from Telfa. Is that right?
Jackson Telefay had this call when Argentina scored their second
goal to come back and beat England.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
To one in the World Cup earlier this week.

Speaker 6 (27:31):
Hold on, somebody, somebody, Now.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
You know the video.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
I don't know if you've seen the video of it,
but it is fantastic. They had the camera on him
when he made that call, and the tears are rolling
down his cheeks like that is a guy that is
passionate about his job and passionate about Argentina football, that's
for sure.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
But that's not the soundtrack where he just keeps yelling gold.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Though right, No, that's not. That's Andre's cantor.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Andre's cantor is the this is I think this is
the actual like the Argentine broadcaster, where Cantor is like
the Spanish language broadcaster. So this is the this is
the the guy that's doing it back to Argentina on
the radio.

Speaker 6 (28:37):
No.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I love that. I loved everything about that. Maybe I've
been on an island of one. But the guy who
just keeps screaming goal, that's Andres is that an? Is that?
That's annoying. Af Is there anybody else like I love
go one time, go one time, give us a long goal,
but don't give us nine got so he either either

(29:02):
shut up or see something more interesting about the game.

Speaker 7 (29:05):
He used to actually go for like twenty seconds on
the goal, but he can't do He can't do it.
He's older now, so he has to split it up.
So he still say I want to go twenty seconds.
So now he has to split it up for like
nine different times.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Yeah, he does.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
You know, he has to be able to. I don't
hear the emperor. Emperor has no clothes, like I understand,
he's a legend that is annoying when he's im and
I'm sure I'm annoying the hell lot of people here
per usual. But is there anybody? Can somebody text in
and say, like, yeah, I like those bed nine times?
What I heard?

Speaker 1 (29:41):
It's like, hey, here, did you hear that? What's that?

Speaker 2 (29:46):
Dick? Oh?

Speaker 3 (29:46):
On the flip side? England Jolly Old England not so jolly.
This week on Barstool Mostly Sports podcast, Mark Titus reacting
to England's crashing out of the World Cup and taking
some below the belt shots at English folk.

Speaker 8 (30:03):
England This is the only sport they care about. They
have nothing else they have. They have no entertainment, they
have no food. They have soccer and beans. That's all
they have. That's it. That's it. That's all they have.
Connor they have nothing else. Okay there, They can't turn
to anything else. So like if you're if Penn State
loses a game like that.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
Yesterday, you can turn to the Eagles. You can turn to.

Speaker 8 (30:23):
Uh grabbing a a a nice meal at a at
a good restaurant in Chicago.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
You could go walk on an olive garden, go to
an olive garden.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
You know you could.

Speaker 8 (30:32):
You could take your best Galt of Navy Pier and
go on the ferris wheel. There are other options. There
are other things you could turn to to. England has
none of that. They have nothing.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
It is.

Speaker 8 (30:41):
The weather's terrible, the food is terrible, the culture is terrible.
The women are ugly, the men are uglier. Everything about
it it's it's a terrible place. But the one solace
they have is that they invented the world's game.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
They invented this sport.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Oh man, is that is that the ugly American? Have
you ever heard it?

Speaker 2 (31:03):
I don't know. I feel like most of that is true.
But although Elizabeth Hurley she's British, is she not here?
You go, well done? Yeah, but I don't know. I
think there's a lot of truth to that. I mean,
people say soccer is the the most popular sport in
the world. Well, you know what, cornmeal might be the
most popular food in the world. Like, if you don't

(31:25):
have anything else, then maybe that explains a lot of that.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
So Jackson, if you're like, you're an English sports fan,
so you you root for the English the English national team,
and then you have your Premier League team, do you
also have like what's it called the Champions League is up?

Speaker 1 (31:42):
The next one down?

Speaker 2 (31:43):
No, you don't.

Speaker 7 (31:43):
You don't have like a like it can't be like
rooting for the Mariners and the Raineers.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
It doesn't work that way.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Oh, so you just have your team you're either a
fan of like Chelsea, or you're a fan of a
team in the next league down.

Speaker 7 (31:56):
Like I imagine that there's some people who say, like
like a Wrexham and then all so like a Manchester United.
I'm sure there's somebody who does that, but that's that's
that's blasphemy. Like, I know you have one team and
it's where you live.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Oh yeah, so there's here's right man.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
From a team Scott Champoint. I know they're into golf
right as well, there should be, but from a team
sports standpoint, I would imagine soccer dwarfs everything else in English.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
Yeah, so when your team sucks or you're knocked out
by Argentina, you are You're done for four years. Man,
that sucks, you know, it doesn't suck, Chuck Powell. He's
going to join us next
