a good hitter. I think he'll come and help the offense,

that there's that player on the market this year that's

even available. And I don't want to overpay for somebody
who's just a good player and not really a big
difference maker, but he will change the lineup a little bit.
If you were to get an Elliott Ramos, I think
the guy that changes things. That sounds like he's available
as C. J. Abrams from the Nationals, and he's available,

and I'd give up a lot to get him. Maybe
I'd even throw in the Monte Alas Montees in order
to get him a couple of things. He's available for
a rebuilding team that doesn't want to build around him,
So there's an issue there.

Top ten teams overall for Madden, and the Hawks are
number ten, behind Kansas City, Buffalo, the Niners, the Patriots, Denver, Baltimore, Detroit,
Philadelphia in LA. And this person's point is that the

Seahawks feel like the most under the radar, underappreciated, dominant
defending champ in the history of the NFL. And it
does feel like it does. Will admit that.

And I think that you know, if that's the case,
then that they didn't have any of these defensive players.
I think they had Spoon listed.

They didn't.

I had Leonard Williams as a top ten defensive lineman
on Madden Yeah, on Madam. ESPN had him as number one.
So I just I just sat out on Twitter today,
I said, Mike McDonald must be the greatest coach in
the history of the planets. Right, if you don't have
any great players on your team and he goes six
seventeen and three and wins the Super.

Bowl, well you know my take on that. I think
he is the most important piece to this whole thing.
I agree. I think the Seahawks have some really good players,
but I think Mike McDonald's defense has made them even greater. Right,
His defense is gonna make Devin Witherspoon a lot of money.
His defense made Julian Love a lot of money.

Gonna make Biron Murphy.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
His defense is gonna make Biron Murphy and Leonard Williams
a lot of money, right, all those guys. I mean,
heck Ernest Jones. Look at the jump he made going
from Tennessee to Seattle. So I think he is the
most important piece. But I never find myself giving a
damn what Madden thinks. No, and I don't. Yeah, I know,
I hear you. This isn't John Madden, who's no longer
with us. This is a video game. Who's even making

these calls? Is it a computer that decides this?

Yeahs it's e sports kind of executives and THEA sports
talent evaluators, I think.

And plus what aren't they just taking amalgamation of all
the rankings of the players, And because they didn't rank
the players highly, you're not gonna have a team ranking
that's very high.

But do you think that EA sports so? I mean, honestly,
like my question is, and maybe we don't know the
answer to this, is this, like what you said, Jackson,
is this actual human beings that work for EA, that
go on and retreat and sit in a room and
decide these things. Is that what's going on?

Yeah, there are actual people who decide and a lot
of it's really based on where do we have guys
last year? And when do we where we have guys
as they start their careers and and moving forward. I
mean we we think overall that these Madden ratings are
there's a science to it.

I think it's just a lot of those engineers and
evaluators saying, oh, I'm gonna put this squad at eighty four.

Essentially, the Terry Ryan not not not not one for one,
but like the people honestly like me, because these aren't
the people designing the physics of the games, people behind
the scenes who look at, well, this guy through for
this and this guy ran for that.

cares about this thing.

Players care about Madden.

So I think when you have Ernest Jones, who obviously
Ernest Jones taking things very personally and he sees that
he is not a top ten linebacker. I mean, I
tweeted it yesterday that Ernest Jones, I think is going
to care about this and have a chip on his shoulder.
So I think there is a tangible effect the players
in the Seahawks saying I'm not top time that musician,

this team is only number ten.

We're going to go show Madden so that.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
We should like this. That is Seahawks, absolutely yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
I mean, did they pronounce Jsn's name right when they
gave me a war?

That happens.

But there's three different for me, there's like three different
types of polls. This is the least important type, right.
The second least important type is just your you know
your writers, right, your NFL writers that are ranking the teams.
The most important one, I think is the one we
talked about a lot over the last two or three weeks,
and that's the ESPN one where they actually went to scouts,

general managers, coaches, people in the league and says who's
the best corner, who's the best running back?

Right?

Those are the guys I trust more than anything, Like.

When Sando does his quarterback are right, which is I

I trust that because he's going to the highest place
while people, the guys that know the most, that scout these.

Players, and that shows you what guys potentially would be
worth on the open market. That you know, if if
like when when Sando comes out with his tears, when's
he doing that? By the way, when he comes out
with his tears, If Sam Darnold, who's got two years
left on his contract, is higher than we thought, then
that would be a reflection of, Hey, maybe the market

says this guy's worth more than we think. Right, maybe
he's gonna be able to make more than we think
he's gonna make, and maybe maybe this is going to
be a problem for the Seahawks to potentially resign this guy.
So I'm that I'm totally with you. I don't understand,
and I guess I understand it because I know fans
and people like me, we lose our mind over anything.
And it's fun to have people respect your team, right,

It's fun when you win the championship that people talk
about how great you are and these guys are awesome
and they kick ass and they're gonna crush people and
blah blah blah. It's fun to stick your chest out.
It makes you proud as a Hawk fan to hear
somebody nationally saying good things about your team. That's my
team that they're talking about. That's my son, that's my daughter,
that's my wife, that's my that's my team. So I

get why fans get a little bit irked when they're
not getting that respect. But from an actual, tangible perspective,
that something really matters. I mean, Jackson, your point is
valid about how players respond to it. I get it.
For players today, it's important, and so if that's the case,
then I'd rather have them be motivated exactly. This is

post yesterday about the linebacker rankings and Erst Jones not
being in the top ten, I added Ernest Jones because
I want Ernest Jones to see that.
