I brought a pen. I couldn't write how many times
we had chances. I couldn't keep up. Look, we won
three to two. That's a great result for us. I'm
glad that we came back. Obviously starting with a goal
down basically after kickoff. Yeah, not a good thing to have.
We talked about not shooting ourselves in the foot, but
credit to the guys. They came back. They found a
way around it. But you want to see a little

bit more composure for myself. You want to see the
more composure in the box as you get through this
season right just over or just under I guess a
third of the season. Find a way to get into
that mid form because you're going to take a long
break here in the UH with the World Cup coming in.
Find a way to get these last few games in
and and you got to blow them out right we have.

We haven't really had a blowout in this game. We
talked about getting the offense back. We scored three goals. Great,
but you had to come back each time, right, You
started off down one zero, you get your goal back,
you go up one, and you get it back again.
You got to find a way to get some consistency
in here. And I think it comes with a little
bit composure in the box, having a little bit unselfish play.
And coach is going to disagree because he thinks we're

passing too much in the box, but we're making the
wrong decisions when it comes to it around the box.
Can you make the extra pass or if you have
the chance, shoot the ball.

Yeah, yeah, Sometimes you got to pull the trigger here

come back, that's good. And then you go up shoo
to one and then you give up a goal and
you could feel the air come out of the stadium, right.
And this is a team, the Sounders team, facing a
San Jose team that you're thinking, we can really take
advantage of him right now because they've rotated their rosters.

first half post and then to get that second third
goal to go ahead, and I love the fact that

We saw at the last two games, right, You're playing
against teams you think you're gonna beat on paper, and
it's a tough leak. So for Seattle to battle back
and come out with a win, I was really happy
for the team. Subs did a good job. They changed

That made a difference and they kept pushing. So it's
a good win to build off of. And I'm with you, Kellen.

I don't want to go into the World Cup break
on the decline. So it was important to get three
points today. Especially important when you look at the table
we've got. We're on eleven games right now, right and
Vancouver and San Jose they are on thirteen for San
Jose and twelve for Vancouver. So Vancouver's in first place

twelve games, San Jose thirteen. We're on eleven point eleven
games with twenty four points, So I like, you know,
I like that they battle back and found a way
to get a win. Good goals, Holy cal Ferer's goal,

A cross coach, coach on your end, And this is
a question to you because you've been in these locker
rooms before, you've played against these teams where you're saying, Okay,
hey guys, this is a rotated lineup. This is a
lineup that we should beat on paper. I wouldn't choose
a single player on this team to replace you know,
the good old classic coaches line. But you know this
is happening now multiple times in a row where there's
a rotated lineup. You can talk about Kansas City, right,

you should walk into Kansas City, have a nap, take us,
take a cigarette, wake up, and walk out with three
points like they're they're not a very good team at
the moment. So we come out and we we tie
in one to one. And then you go out here
and you're thinking, okay, San Jose, lineup. You look on
paper and you're going we can beat them, right, But
you don't have time, of course, But why is it

that we can go against some of the best teams
in the league and come out successfully, and go against
the middle to the lower part of the league, or
even just on paper, the middle to the lower part of
a lineup, and and not play well well.

came away with a win. Couldn't tell you any of

let's go moment by moment, gentlemen, I want to go
through specific moments from this game that really changed everything
we thought was going to happen to something completely different.

Moments not even two minutes into this game, Kiwani Coza
Rienzi playing right back with the giveaway, does not reach
Andrew Thomas in goal.

It's picked off one pass and Fernandez puts it in
the back of the net for San Jose to grab
a one nothing lead. Quick thought from each of you
on what you saw on that play.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
Well, I appreciate you saying that. Look, I appreciate you
asking like I woke up, I had a cup of coffee,
you know, I was scrolling through I'm just kidding. No,
when they started this game, that's what they felt like
they were doing, right. They were having a couple of
coffee sounds. They weren't ready for this game. It was
just a little bit slow. In my mind, it was
a good pass, it was a good idea, sorry. The
idea for Colone to make that pass back to Andrew Thomas,
(09:15):
who's good with his feet, is good to have. However,
the pass itself was not so good. It needs to
be a little bit more with pace. Andrew Thomas, like
I said, has good feet. Pnging it out to him,
I'm not saying put it at his chest, but you know,
put a little pace on it. Make sure that it's there,
especially the first few minutes of the game. And coach
you will attest to this. Oftentimes you don't want to
play out of the back the first five ten minutes
of a game. You want to put it. You want
to you know, I don't want to say dump it

into their half, but make the center backs turn around,
make it a little harder, get it out of your area.
You know. I know that it's a beautiful game. You
can play out of the back and continue to make
these passes and if it's there, of course, yeah, but
make it an easy first five minutes, because that's a
hard time to lose all your tactics and have to
fight back one zero down.

I think that's actually a really good point. Maybe that's
a new tactic that I'm not kidding you should bring
that up with Brian all the time.

And I mean we saw it with Paul Rothrock scoring
in two minutes. You got to start a game right
from the beginning, right, And so I think it was
one of those where Colonne and Colonie's got to be

little bit sharper on the ball. Brian will bring that
up with him because it's very important. Peter Kingston had

a good night tonight right in that similar area at
the back on the right hand side, so uh, he'll
fix it.

But I kind of like the idea of hey, get
it out, don't be afraid. And when we went up
three to two, Jackson, Reagan Alex rolled on each had
balls where they just bent it down the line right,
take the pressure off for a couple of minutes. So
maybe the first five minutes, let's not mess around with
the ball.

Purpose instead of boott with purpose, doubt, kick it out

So San Jose grab a one nothing lead. In the
second minute of this game, tactic gets thrown out the window,
Seattle recover, create a bunch of chances. Then forty first minute,
a nice give and go gets new Who in the box.

He actually gets a position on Daniel, who comes out
of his goal and who pops it over towards the
back post. There is again Kilani cosa Rienzi working against
two defenders towards the back post. On that new Who
cross if you want to call it across absolutely cross.
Kilani pushes off maybe question mark. A defender goes up, heads,

the ball down comes off the defender's arm, a handball
is given. Albert Rusnak steps up, hits the penalty. In
the forty third minute the big question, And folks, I'll
take you behind the scenes right there before the halftime
show started and right before the second half started, the
debate between kell and Row and Steve Zachawani over the
question was it a foul on Kilanie or not? That

debate will rage for a while. Let's continue that debate here,
was it or a foul or not on Kilanie?

And why Kelen Rowe?

Well, look, I say it was a foul. Steve Zachawani
never played defense in his life. He is the forward
that's pushing off all the time. So yeah, he doesn't
think it's a foul. Look, I think I do think
he was a foul. And he was a foul because
it was two hands. Because if you talk about this,
you can agree that there was two hands to the back.
You have to be able to disguise it. And yes,

there's gonna be controversy over this, and I bet you
there's gonna be an apology later on, especially because it
was against Bruce Arena, who obviously lit up the fourth official.
But you have to be a little bit more SAVVINGE
the guy who was really really good at this, and
I always say this his soccer savviness and soccer I q.
Freddy Montero. Yeah, always had a way of when a defender.
He's not the biggest guy in the sense of height,

even in the sense of strength, but he was so
smart that when the defender was gonna up, he would
put his body as I do it to coach here,
he would put his body next to it so he
couldn't really jump, and if he did, he'd be off balance.
And so all of a sudden, the ball would come
down to his chest. This is something that was it
was so well disguised because there was no hands on.
It was just moving your body correctly at the right time.

Yeah, Kilany had.

Two hands on. Even if he just had one, that
to me wouldn't be a foul. Yeah, but the fact
that it was two hands extended.

The movement of the player right the hands, the chest
goes out and the hands go up, and so I
was very surprised he didn't go to the r and
they called it on. As a matter of fact, as
soon as it happened in real time, I thought it.

Almost felt like a foul was called in the moment
and then it quickly changed to a penalty.

and I mean, that was such a fantastic goal and
he and he used his teammates well right as a decoy.

then he cuts it, cuts it back his second touch
to give himself a little bit of room and then
froze the goalkeeper right to the near post. So that
was a really good goal. You know, that's his second
goal of the year, five or six assists. But I
loved it. He was selfish, right, and we talked about

that with sometimes too many passes, a little bit selfish
in the goal and we need that a little bit
more of that.

So a lot of fans are going to watch that
goal and Keeley is one of them, and she saw
the same thing that I think a lot of fans did,
and that was like al Paulo a number.

light years apart. The way that Jal Paulo took that
ball and threw defenders through moments, That's just it wasn't
anywhere near it. So what he was holding off players,
he was megan two or three two guys fell in
front of him like he was he was the hand
of God. Like it was incredible that it was incredible.

Now, how about this play?

Well, this play, this, this play was actually I think
shows what Ferarra is talented at. He is a number ten, right,
Obviously we're playing him as an outside midfielder that tucks
in as a secondary number ten next to Albert Rusna
because he does fades a little bit to the left. However,
this goal, because most of us are thinking, hey, Hazus
Errer is our best passer, especially in dangerous areas, and

so he had two options, and everyone in our us
included are thinking, Okay, which one is he going to play?
I bet you the defenders are thinking the same thing.
He's always thinking past first. But guess what he thought. Okay,
let me use this as a disguise. He has again
a huge soccer IQ where he's he's using his players
to faint as I try to emulate what he's doing
currently in the booth. He faints one way cuts, it

cuts one more time. And you talk about that little
bit of space. It was not for the younger players
that hopefully are listening to this and get to go
watch this goal. It is not a full foot, It
is not a full piece of space where you're going.
That's an easy finish. He has the defender reaching for
the ball. He has a very small window. But all
you need is half a ball. All you need is

half a ball and a quick trigger. And he does
that exactly right, and he goes near post because he
knows if he goes far it's gonna get blocked.

All right, Let's go to the next moment. You guys
were talking about player of the match right there, So
let's let's decide this for toy and Toyota man of
the match. Are you guys in agreement as Ferrara. I
didn't want to interrupt or anything. I think Ferreira had
the better game. I think he absolutely wasn't incredible.

He always does. I think he always is our best
attacking player in many ways. However, I will throw out
that technically in my mind as a player, and most
of ours knew who had two assists, so and.

I agree, I do agree and knew who.

He only get credit for one because one of them
was a penalty kick, right, But you will, for you
know a player's mind, if you created the penalty kick,
you should get credited for some sense of the counterpoint.

haven't even talked about this yet. It shows you how
exciting of a game this was the Sounders one three
to two tonight over the San Jose Earthquakes at Luminfield.
Sounders take a two to one lead on that Ferrera
Go San Jose, get one back. In the sixty ninth minute,
Preston Judd gets a nice space, makes a nice move,

takes a deflection back of the net, makes it two
to two. In the sixty ninth Brian Schmeinzer changes his tactics.
He gets three at the back and then knew who
again as you're talking about there gets the assist. In
the eighty ninth minute, gets himself in a good position,
crosses it to the middle of the box. For some reason,
nobody is covering Osase de Rosario. He heads it into
the back of the net. Eighty ninth minute winner. Sounders

win three to two that specific play. I think everybody
is leaving asking themselves. How did Osaze get that wide open?
Kellen Well, it's it's just bad defending it. And I
will say this, we talk about we're gonna go back
a little bit. We're gonn go back about two three
minutes before that goal happened, and we talked about it
in the halftime, We talked about it in the pregame.
Bruce Arena is gonna bring these good players off the bench.

the top of the box, it gets blocked, Christian Rodon
takes it down, passes it to new who out wide,

reason San Jose decided to leave six. I'm gonna say
six six two hundred pound better, you know, best player

in the air that we have. You know, obviously won
won V zero against the goalie and he calmly puts
it away. But I think the the the art of
the game that we have here is that we could
have lost the game a minute ago and we just
won it a minute later.

it's easier to miss those than it is sometimes to

that's going to be a happy locker room. I wouldn't
even say relieved. I think they're gonna be happy with
how they fought back each each time they went down,

talk about the movement in the box, obviously oase take
it kind of takes a step back away from one
of the center backs. But you don't you miss the
Jordan Morris run as well to take both center backs.
He's going near post to take both center backs. Now,
I don't think the center back made the right decision
and going with Jordan and doubling Jordan Morris, but that
left a sase. So you know, you gotta credit the runs.

It almost sacrificed themselves and then one back post, and
that one back post was a good ball, good finish.

back depth in that sense, so you think you're gonna

I would run out Albert again. You know, I know
you want to play Paul Rothrock, but I think off
the bench to get that a little bit of burst
is what you all also need, although you kind of
want someone with a little bit of grit coming against
La Galaxy as well. But yeah, I think there's that.

I brought a pen. I couldn't write how many times
we had chances. I couldn't keep up. Look, we won
three to two. That's a great result for us. I'm
glad that we came back. Obviously starting with a goal
down basically after kickoff. Yeah, not a good thing to have.
We talked about not shooting ourselves in the foot, but
credit to the guys. They came back. They found a
way around it. But you want to see a little
(01:48):
bit more composure for myself. You want to see the
more composure in the box as you get through this
season right just over or just under I guess a
third of the season. Find a way to get into
that mid form because you're going to take a long
break here in the UH with the World Cup coming in.
Find a way to get these last few games in
and and you got to blow them out right we have.

We haven't really had a blowout in this game. We
talked about getting the offense back. We scored three goals. Great,
but you had to come back each time, right, You
started off down one zero, you get your goal back,
you go up one, and you get it back again.
You got to find a way to get some consistency
in here. And I think it comes with a little
bit composure in the box, having a little bit unselfish play.
And coach is going to disagree because he thinks we're

passing too much in the box, but we're making the
wrong decisions when it comes to it around the box.
Can you make the extra pass or if you have
the chance, shoot the ball.

Yeah, yeah, Sometimes you got to pull the trigger here
for me. And you just said it down one nothing,
come back, that's good. And then you go up shoo
to one and then you give up a goal and
you could feel the air come out of the stadium, right.
And this is a team, the Sounders team, facing a
San Jose team that you're thinking, we can really take
advantage of him right now because they've rotated their rosters.

So we kept pushing.

We kept pushing, had chances hit the bar in the
first half post and then to get that second third
goal to go ahead, and I love the fact that
the guys who scored the goal, Ferrera we need him
scoring goals, Azaz we need him scoring goals. Albert, we
need him scoring goals. So I love it that those
three guys contributed.

We saw at the last two games, right, You're playing
against teams you think you're gonna beat on paper, and
it's a tough leak. So for Seattle to battle back
and come out with a win, I was really happy
for the team. Subs did a good job. They changed
the formation right, they went to three at the back.
That made a difference and they kept pushing. So it's
a good win to build off of. And I'm with you, Kellen.

I don't want to go into the World Cup break
on the decline. So it was important to get three
points today. Especially important when you look at the table
we've got. We're on eleven games right now, right and
Vancouver and San Jose they are on thirteen for San
Jose and twelve for Vancouver. So Vancouver's in first place

with twenty nine points. San Jose's twenty nine points, Vancouver
twelve games, San Jose thirteen. We're on eleven point eleven
games with twenty four points, So I like, you know,
I like that they battle back and found a way
to get a win. Good goals, Holy cal Ferer's goal,
very good, right and Osase school it's easy to miss those,

so good goal from him, too good.

A cross coach, coach on your end, And this is
a question to you because you've been in these locker
rooms before, you've played against these teams where you're saying, Okay,
hey guys, this is a rotated lineup. This is a
lineup that we should beat on paper. I wouldn't choose
a single player on this team to replace you know,
the good old classic coaches line. But you know this
is happening now multiple times in a row where there's
a rotated lineup. You can talk about Kansas City, right,

you should walk into Kansas City, have a nap, take us,
take a cigarette, wake up, and walk out with three
points like they're they're not a very good team at
the moment. So we come out and we we tie
in one to one. And then you go out here
and you're thinking, okay, San Jose, lineup. You look on
paper and you're going we can beat them, right, But
you don't have time, of course, But why is it
(05:11):
that we can go against some of the best teams
in the league and come out successfully, and go against
the middle to the lower part of the league, or
even just on paper, the middle to the lower part of
a lineup, and and not play well well.

The fact that you know, I remember as a coach
one of the parents looking at me and we somehow
came away with a win. Couldn't tell you any of
the details, but he just looked at me and said, well,
this is why we show up right And and so
when you get a chance, if you're going to play
against like a Peter Kingston, he's got one start in
the MLS right now, but all of a sudden he

gets a start, he's gonna.

Cause a lot of problems against you.

So the guys were playing against maybe it is a
rotated lineup, but it's their chance to do something.

we thought was going to happen to something completely different.

Moments not even two minutes into this game, Kiwani Coza
Rienzi playing right back with the giveaway, does not reach
Andrew Thomas in goal.

It's picked off one pass and Fernandez puts it in
the back of the net for San Jose to grab
a one nothing lead. Quick thought from each of you
on what you saw on that play.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
Well, I appreciate you saying that. Look, I appreciate you
asking like I woke up, I had a cup of coffee,
you know, I was scrolling through I'm just kidding. No,
when they started this game, that's what they felt like
they were doing, right. They were having a couple of
coffee sounds. They weren't ready for this game. It was
just a little bit slow. In my mind, it was
a good pass, it was a good idea, sorry. The
idea for Colone to make that pass back to Andrew Thomas,
(09:15):
who's good with his feet, is good to have. However,
the pass itself was not so good. It needs to
be a little bit more with pace. Andrew Thomas, like
I said, has good feet. Pnging it out to him,
I'm not saying put it at his chest, but you know,
put a little pace on it. Make sure that it's there,
especially the first few minutes of the game. And coach
you will attest to this. Oftentimes you don't want to
play out of the back the first five ten minutes
of a game. You want to put it. You want
to you know, I don't want to say dump it
(09:37):
into their half, but make the center backs turn around,
make it a little harder, get it out of your area.
You know. I know that it's a beautiful game. You
can play out of the back and continue to make
these passes and if it's there, of course, yeah, but
make it an easy first five minutes, because that's a
hard time to lose all your tactics and have to
fight back one zero down.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
Yeah.

I think that's actually a really good point. Maybe that's
a new tactic that I'm not kidding you should bring
that up with Brian all the time.

First five minutes, no mess.

Yeah, just get it forward, get the rhythm of the game.
And I mean we saw it with Paul Rothrock scoring
in two minutes. You got to start a game right
from the beginning, right, And so I think it was
one of those where Colonne and Colonie's got to be
He's got to say, hey, I've got to be a
little bit sharper on the ball. Brian will bring that
up with him because it's very important. Peter Kingston had

a good night tonight right in that similar area at
the back on the right hand side, so uh, he'll
fix it.

Colonial, You'll fix it, no problem.

But I kind of like the idea of hey, get
it out, don't be afraid. And when we went up
three to two, Jackson, Reagan Alex rolled on each had
balls where they just bent it down the line right,
take the pressure off for a couple of minutes. So
maybe the first five minutes, let's not mess around with
the ball.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
Punt it with purpose. Is that a new turn?
Speaker 3 (10:57):
Pump Punt it with.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Purpose instead of boott with purpose, doubt, kick it out
and pun it's more fun. Yeah, I like that, all right?
So San Jose grab a one nothing lead. In the
second minute of this game, tactic gets thrown out the window,
Seattle recover, create a bunch of chances. Then forty first minute,
a nice give and go gets new Who in the box.

He actually gets a position on Daniel, who comes out
of his goal and who pops it over towards the
back post. There is again Kilani cosa Rienzi working against
two defenders towards the back post. On that new Who
cross if you want to call it across absolutely cross.
Kilani pushes off maybe question mark. A defender goes up, heads,
(11:41):
the ball down comes off the defender's arm, a handball
is given. Albert Rusnak steps up, hits the penalty. In
the forty third minute the big question, And folks, I'll
take you behind the scenes right there before the halftime
show started and right before the second half started, the
debate between kell and Row and Steve Zachawani over the
question was it a foul on Kilanie or not? That

debate will rage for a while. Let's continue that debate here,
was it or a foul or not on Kilanie?

And why Kelen Rowe?
Speaker 4 (12:12):
Well, look, I say it was a foul. Steve Zachawani
never played defense in his life. He is the forward
that's pushing off all the time. So yeah, he doesn't
think it's a foul. Look, I think I do think
he was a foul. And he was a foul because
it was two hands. Because if you talk about this,
you can agree that there was two hands to the back.
You have to be able to disguise it. And yes,
(12:34):
there's gonna be controversy over this, and I bet you
there's gonna be an apology later on, especially because it
was against Bruce Arena, who obviously lit up the fourth official.
But you have to be a little bit more SAVVINGE
the guy who was really really good at this, and
I always say this his soccer savviness and soccer I q.
Freddy Montero. Yeah, always had a way of when a defender.
He's not the biggest guy in the sense of height,
(12:55):
even in the sense of strength, but he was so
smart that when the defender was gonna up, he would
put his body as I do it to coach here,
he would put his body next to it so he
couldn't really jump, and if he did, he'd be off balance.
And so all of a sudden, the ball would come
down to his chest. This is something that was it
was so well disguised because there was no hands on.
It was just moving your body correctly at the right time.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
Yeah, Kilany had.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Two hands on. Even if he just had one, that
to me wouldn't be a foul. Yeah, but the fact
that it was two hands extended.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
Yeah, I'm with you, and their hands looked extended.
Speaker 6 (13:26):
The movement of the player right the hands, the chest
goes out and the hands go up, and so I
was very surprised he didn't go to the r and
they called it on. As a matter of fact, as
soon as it happened in real time, I thought it.

Almost felt like a foul was called in the moment
and then it quickly changed to a penalty.
Speaker 5 (13:44):
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.

So but over the course of a thirty four game
regular season, you're going to get some calls like that,
and you're gonna have some calls like that go against you.
Speaker 5 (13:54):
So today we were fortunate to get that to tie it.

Up, and we still had to put it away right

it was happening.

from Sounders goal, drives seventy five yards up the field

And then slams it into the back of the net
for the Sounders two to one lead in the fifty
fifth minutes. You guys are laughing right now? What are
you laughing about him? I am I off base on
this play of the match.

We were talking about who's the player of the match,
and I mean, that was such a fantastic goal and
he and he used his teammates well right as a decoy.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
Because you kept thinking forre was gonna you are accurate.
Speaker 6 (15:27):
He went seventy five yards with the ball right and
then he cuts it, cuts it back his second touch
to give himself a little bit of room and then
froze the goalkeeper right to the near post. So that
was a really good goal. You know, that's his second
goal of the year, five or six assists. But I
loved it. He was selfish, right, and we talked about

that with sometimes too many passes, a little bit selfish
in the goal and we need that a little bit
more of that.

So a lot of fans are going to watch that
goal and Keeley is one of them, and she saw
the same thing that I think a lot of fans did,
and that was like al Paulo a number.

happened against Colorado.

light years apart. The way that Jal Paulo took that
ball and threw defenders through moments, That's just it wasn't
anywhere near it. So what he was holding off players,
he was megan two or three two guys fell in
front of him like he was he was the hand
of God. Like it was incredible that it was incredible.

Now, how about this play?

Well, this play, this, this play was actually I think
shows what Ferarra is talented at. He is a number ten, right,
Obviously we're playing him as an outside midfielder that tucks
in as a secondary number ten next to Albert Rusna
because he does fades a little bit to the left. However,
this goal, because most of us are thinking, hey, Hazus
Errer is our best passer, especially in dangerous areas, and

so he had two options, and everyone in our us
included are thinking, Okay, which one is he going to play?
I bet you the defenders are thinking the same thing.
He's always thinking past first. But guess what he thought. Okay,
let me use this as a disguise. He has again
a huge soccer IQ where he's he's using his players
to faint as I try to emulate what he's doing
currently in the booth. He faints one way cuts, it

bit of space. It was not for the younger players
that hopefully are listening to this and get to go
watch this goal. It is not a full foot, It
is not a full piece of space where you're going.
That's an easy finish. He has the defender reaching for
the ball. He has a very small window. But all
you need is half a ball. All you need is

half a ball and a quick trigger. And he does
that exactly right, and he goes near post because he
knows if he goes far it's gonna get blocked.

know a player's mind, if you created the penalty kick,

exciting of a game this was the Sounders one three

Preston Judd gets a nice space, makes a nice move,

takes a deflection back of the net, makes it two
to two. In the sixty ninth Brian Schmeinzer changes his tactics.
He gets three at the back and then knew who
again as you're talking about there gets the assist. In
the eighty ninth minute, gets himself in a good position,
crosses it to the middle of the box. For some reason,
nobody is covering Osase de Rosario. He heads it into
the back of the net. Eighty ninth minute winner. Sounders

win three to two that specific play. I think everybody
is leaving asking themselves. How did Osaze get that wide open?
Kellen Well, it's it's just bad defending it. And I
will say this, we talk about we're gonna go back
a little bit. We're gonn go back about two three
minutes before that goal happened, and we talked about it
in the halftime, We talked about it in the pregame.
Bruce Arena is gonna bring these good players off the bench.

He's hoping that it's gonna be close. And it's exactly
what happened.

Right, Judd came on, Buddha came on, they created something.
Rickets at the end on here and the left was
creating things. And so before that goal in about the
eighty fifth to the eighty ninth, let's say, because it
happened in the eighty ninth, San Jose was all over us.
They were getting chance after chance, counter after counter. Ian
harks On a corner kick was wide open and unfortunately

snapped it too much and it went just why right,
that was one of one of the goals. You could
see Bruce Arina throws hands up, going that was it.

A minute later, Kingston has a good little play in
the right here finds the correct pass to Ferrera on
the top of the box, it gets blocked, Christian Rodon
takes it down, passes it to new who out wide,
who smartly puts it in first time. And for some
reason San Jose decided to leave six. I'm gonna say
six six two hundred pound better, you know, best player

in the air that we have. You know, obviously won
won V zero against the goalie and he calmly puts
it away. But I think the the the art of
the game that we have here is that we could
have lost the game a minute ago and we just
won it a minute later.
Speaker 6 (21:17):
Yeah, and for as Ose to I said a moment ago,
it's easier to miss those than it is sometimes to
make her.

So he put it straight down.

He put it straight down, which you need to do
against a goalkeeper, right, because they're they're getting big, they're
coming up.

To get big, so that their feet is that is
the toughest spot for them.

So good for him. We needed that from him yesterday
in training. He was very sharp with his feet, right.
I don't think we saw too much with his head,
but he did what he had to do, which is
bury that chance. So and and you know, sometimes forwards,
we'll find extra space, they'll go in, they'll come back
out create that and good for new who for putting

it on his head. And then he got good power
on the on the ball as well. So I think
that's going to be a happy locker room. I wouldn't
even say relieved. I think they're gonna be happy with
how they fought back each each time they went down,
they went ahead, they got tied up, and then they
came back got the goal.

So as you see the goal of the movement, you
talk about the movement in the box, obviously oase take
it kind of takes a step back away from one
of the center backs. But you don't you miss the
Jordan Morris run as well to take both center backs.
He's going near post to take both center backs. Now,
I don't think the center back made the right decision
and going with Jordan and doubling Jordan Morris, but that
left a sase. So you know, you gotta credit the runs.

We always talk about. One has to go in near post.
It almost sacrificed themselves and then one back post, and
that one back post was a good ball, good finish.

But today it's gonna be Thursday, Friday, and we're back
on the field in two days.

run out Albert and Hayesuisan and say, all right, you
got a full seven days to recover now before LAFC
on the twenty fourth, and then there's the World Cup break,
so it's you don't run those legs because you got
a big break ahead two matches left right now before
