Swedish pre match show starts now.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Well after a dramatic win over first place San Jose
on Wednesday, Your Seattle Sounders are back now here at Lumenfield.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
They're on a nine match unbeaten run.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
They are only five points off the top of MLS
injuring the weekend. With games in hand, things are rolling
right now for the Ray of Green and the regular
season continues, two matches left before the World Cup break
and tonight they're here at Luman facing the LA Galaxy.
So welcome to the Sounders FC pre match Show presented
(01:26):
by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC,
Jackson Felts alongside the coach Peteviewing. We have Danny Jackson,
Steve Zachlani and Brad Evans on the call tonight here
at Lumenfield for Sounders Galaxy.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
We'll also mentioned that tonight's.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Match is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the entertainment capital
of the Northwest.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Pete.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
As we always do, we are actually going a little
bit quicker on the pre match show tonight. We're starting
and in twenty minutes we will have kickoff between the
Sounders and LA Galaxy. So we will go fast Pete Viewing.
Let's start by very quickly looking back at Wednesday, what
was probably the game of.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
The year, the win of the year three two knew.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Who to Osazi at the death giving the Sounders a
massive three points.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Well, you look at San Jose's record, they have two losses,
one at home to the Seattle Sounders, one on the
road to the Seattle Sounders. So yeah, that was a
terrific win because we have games in hand on the
two teams ahead of US, Vancouver and San Jose.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
So climb the ladders.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
First time we've moved into third place all season with
a record of seven to one and three. If you
had said, hey, after eleven games, you're gonna be seven
to one and three, and you're it's still gonna be
in third place. The Western Conference is very, very good
this year. So that was a great win and I
love it. You know, they get an early goal, puts
us in a hole. Bruce Arena knows how to play
(02:45):
with a lead. We tie it back up on a
penalty kick and we go ahead. Then we give up
a goal, and then we get a late one to
then only count Ferrera. What a great run to play
seventy yards I think you said it was yep, and
just a terrific goal.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
He did the.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Village, heuse Moses going right down the separate at sea.
Speaker 6 (03:05):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
And then and then we get a late goal, a
great one from Azase, good cross from new who pretty
much got two assists in the game, and Zase pounds
at home for a header.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
In the eighty eighth minute and then we get the wins.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
So that's a great result for the Seattle Sounders coming
into the Ryans Gate.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
And you mentioned Vancouver as well. It's funny the top
two teams in the Western Conference. Seattle is handed San
Jose as you mentioned their two losses, and the Sounders
have technically two wins over the second place now first
place Vancouver white Caps. So top two teams in the
West Sounders are four to zero.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
And you think of Kansas City and San Diego and
you say that's the MLS though, right, that is on
any day, any team can be any.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
We still remember need to remember that Kansas City game
for sure. We are tonight facing the La Galaxy. That
is where all of our focuses kick off again. Coming
in twenty minutes, Pete, let's start to break down this game.
What is Brian Schmitzer doing with his Delta starting.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Eleven Brian Thomas Schmitzer puts out a four to two,
three to one Andrew Thomas in goal, starting his eleventh
game of the year, twelfth game. Excuse me, Peter Kingston,
as you're right back getting a second start for the
Seattle Sounders, right back, new kind of a new spot
for him, So that's great. Antonio Lopez is replacing Alex
(04:20):
roll Don in the center of the center backs. Jackson
Reagan knew who will be your left back and knew
who's your captain to night in the middle of the
park Asani Dotson, Snyder Bernell. That was a pairing that
we had earlier in the season. It's good to see
them back together. Jordan Morris will be on the right,
Paul Ariola on the left, Hey sus Ferrera will sit
right underneath Danny mssosk.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
So as we expected and as we talked about in
the postgame show on Wednesday, lots of changes quickly. By
the way, Let's dive into that Provident Swedish team health report.
This is important tonight. The team Health Report presented by Providence,
Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. There are three
you all probably know that stays the same, heyter Dale
o Vega he's out until after the World Cup break
with that knee, Yamargomezonoi he's out until after the World
(05:04):
Cup break with his hamstring. And Nicko lopet Kovich out
with the aclsair done for the year. There is a
new member though to this health report that is Alex
rolled On. He is out tonight with a hamstring injury.
There is, of course the World Cup break coming up
after LAFC next weekend, so good time to get Alex
(05:25):
rolled on all right with that hamstring injury. So that's
why we have Peter Kingston at right back, Kilani available
as well, but no Alex rolled On, so Pete. It
is all the changes we talked about, and we talked
to Brian Schmitzer and he talks so much about having
a strong bench, having great depth, and now is the
point where we see that depth playout.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
It with us twenty different starters and again we're seven wins,
one loss, three ties, so it's not twenty different starters
with four or five losses. It's twenty different starters with
seven losses. A SUSI with seven wins, one loss and
three ties. So it's been effective. The old next man
up concept sounds great, but this team's doing it right now.
(06:06):
So you know it's interesting because you're gonna have Tino
Lopez is gonna be right next to Peter Kingston right
and then they have up front Paintil Ruiz and pec.
Speaker 5 (06:17):
That's a handful for those who to deal with.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
But here's the deal. I think there's a lot of
confidence in everybody. From Andrew Thomas. You know those guys
are gonna be right in front of him. Jackson, Reagan
will help those guys out, So you're right. Brian said, Hey,
we talk about depth and they're proving.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
It again tonight.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Time to back it up with all that good depth.
The other comment he made Pete that I want to
get your take on is he said, sometimes you get
more intensity from the guys who haven't played as much Ariola, Kingston,
Dots and Lopez. They aren't getting as much time, you know,
being those backup players. In your experience coaching, do you
see that where when you rotate, when you bring in
bench guys, they give you a little extra Oo.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
Absolutely, The thing you have to be careful is trying
to make sure you contain him and have him not
do too much.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
You don't want Peter Kings to try to do too much.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Tino has done a really good job in his limited
time on the field of not over committing for balls
and not trying to play beyond his scope. So yes,
Paul Oriole is a great example of that because he's
a national team kid, right, and he wants to get
back in the mix. So he wants to show coach
Schmitz er hey, I deserve to be on there. It's
(07:25):
wildly competitive in this roster again, twenty players.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
We have twenty starters, right.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
There's a lot of teams around the league that have eleven, twelve, thirteen,
So we have a very very competitive group. Paul Oriole
has now had enough time after that ACL tear where
he's feeling better.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
And he's got to capitalize. He knows it. He's been around.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
He's a veteran, right, so he's going to have to
capitalize on this opportunity.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Tonight Sounders LA Galaxy. He's not at lumen Field.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
We're just fifteen minutes away from kickoff. We'll grab a break,
we'll come back and talk about the LA Galaxy visiting
here tonight. They're a little bit of an interesting team
and interesting back and forth season so far.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
We'll tell you about the visitors.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Coming up next on the pre match show sports Radio
in ninety three point three KJRFM.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Now back to Seattle, Sounders Sucker on Sports Radio ninety
three point three kjr FM welcome.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
Back to Lumen Field.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
We are twelve minutes away from Seattle Sounders facing the
LA Galaxy here at Lumen let's talk a little bit
about Los Angeles.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
They are four five and four on the year.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Eleventh place in the Western Conference with sixteen points, eight
back of Seattle. They're also right now tight on points
for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. They,
like Seattle, also in a packed stretch three games and
eight days. But where Seattle has been at home for
all three of these games, of course San Diego and
San Jose previously last weekend on a Wednesday. The LA Galaxy, meanwhile,
(08:51):
have been on the road for all three of these games.
Last weekend in Atlanta they got a win. Then on
Wednesday they went to Kansas City and got beat by
the worst team in MLS at the time, Kansas City,
a three to one loss for the Galaxy. And now
here they are in Seattle Pete. It's a team a
little bit rotated.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
But off of lots of travel. But as we were
just talking about, they do have a lot of talent.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
They do have a lot of talent, and they've been
on the road the entire time. They didn't go home
after Kansas City. They came here right really. Yeah, So
this is one of those situations where you want to
jump on them quick. You want to keep.
Speaker 5 (09:28):
The pressure on them.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
You want to get one goal, you want to get
the second goal and end it as early as possible.
But they play a four to three three and they've
got Pencil, Luis and Pack up front. That's ten of
their nineteen goals. Klaus is out with an injury and
he's five of those. So they're a pretty potent front three.
And as we just mentioned, with Peter Kingston on the
right and next to him Tina Lopez, those two young
(09:52):
guys are gonna be kind of thrown into the fire.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
So so stay.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
Home, do your job, keep your goal, keep goal side,
don't over commit, and don't lose your guy inside the box.
Speaker 5 (10:03):
Those three guys are proven goal scorers.
Speaker 6 (10:04):
Yeah, they certainly are.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
We know Paincill and Peck out talent who they are.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Peck has four goals for US, his Marco Royce up top,
obviously the German legend.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
He has four goals for assistant up well.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
But as you mentioned, Joel Klaus big trade in the offseason,
a lot of money sent from the LA Galaxy to Saint.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Louis to acquire the forward. But Klaus is out.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
With his five goals that is more than twenty five
percent of the goals this season. He has gone and
Greg Vanny still the head coach of the Galaxy too. Now, Pete,
as we kind of transition now into players to watch,
My player to watch, I'll go first is Peter Kingston
because when we look at peck and pencil, they'll flip
in moments, but he will be facing on that right
(10:44):
back spot. Very talented wingers at all times. No matter
who is over there, Peter Kingston has an enormous challenge
waiting ahead of him.
Speaker 5 (10:53):
Yeah, he does.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
The one thing I love about him is he's athletic
right and he's very composed for his limit. This is
his at ML's start. Alex Rolldon had something similar when
he was right back all of a sudden facing players
that a World Cup champions. So Peter's gonna have to
stay within himself. He's a mature player.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
Smart.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Brian Schmetzer's given him a good assignment and I see
him staying home a little bit. But coach Sptzer also
said Jordan Morris is going to get forward. Get in
the pocket and Peter's gonna get around him. So he
does have some freedom, but that freedom will be allowed
as long as he doesn't overcommit and get himself caught
out of position.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
So who's your player to watch?
Speaker 4 (11:30):
I'm gonna go Hassani Dotson because you know we talked
about this is a chance for Paul Oriol, a veteran player,
to get back into the rotation of lineup.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
I don't know he's ever going to take Paul rothrock spot.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
But for Hassani, same thing, right, Sony is he's a
veteran player, He's been around a long time. He came
home to play for his hometown club and he started
the season as it was going to be he and Christian.
He's lost that and now this is a chance for
him to get back and we need him to have
a really good game.
Speaker 2 (12:00):

Sounders win, you'll win a free mik Chick in the
following day with minimum two dollars purchase exclusively.

Five minutes away, roughly from kickoff, we're gonna wrap up
the pre match show with some keys to the match
and the history the long history against the LA Galaxy.
Pre match show continues with kickoff about eight minutes away
here on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Now back to Seattle Sounders Sucker on Sports Radio ninety
three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Five minutes away from kickoff here at Emerald Queen Casino
Pitch at Luminfield. Today's countdown to kickoff has been presented
by Emerald Queen Casino, the entertainment capital of the Northwest.
Pete viewing Sounders LA Galaxy Again. Sounders are nineteen sixteen
and fifteen all time against LA. What are your keys
to this one?
Speaker 4 (12:52):
Tonight's well, the defense has to be shored up right
from the beginning. Don't give an Indy any unnecessary fouls.
The wing play is always my favorite. We gotta win
the middle of the park. Brian Schmetzer always says win
your duels, right, that's a big stat for him. Across
the board. On the wings we've got We've got to
win those duels. In the middle of the park, Gotta
(13:14):
win the duels. At the back, we've gotta win the duels.
And again, this is a team that's been on the
road for nearly eight or nine days. So jump on
them early, don't give them any hope. And then I
think Seattle has realized with the one to one tie
one one tie with Kansas City, San Diego and even
the San Jose game, we've got to really put teams away.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Yeah, we certainly do.
Speaker 6 (13:35):
Well.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
It is time for kickoff and it's fitting. The sun
has finally come out in this weird weather day here
in the Northwest. The sun is out here at Luminfield,
the Sounders in Galaxy walking out for the anthems.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
It is time for kickoff.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Last year, by the way, when these two teams played
at Luminfield, it was a two to two draw. So
hopefully the Sounders can get a w tonight and continue
there now twenty two unbeaten run here at Luminfield, dating
back the twelve World Cup. Water on the Rave Greener
on here in this building. We'll hand things over.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
To Danny Jackson, Steve Zachawani and Brad Evans. They will
have kickoff.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Sounders Galaxy starts next on Sports Radio ninety three point

Speaker 7 (15:39):
Good evening, Sounders Fans for me quc Pitch here at
Lumen Field, where your Sound has faced long time rival
the LA Galaxy. It's been a tough run for the
Galaxy since the twenty twenty four MLS Cup win. A
long term injury to starman Ricky Pouge has been terminal
to the Galaxy's former results. Failure last year to make
the play what else has followed with an indifferent start
(16:02):
to this season.
Speaker 6 (16:03):
Greg Vanny's on the hot.
Speaker 7 (16:04):
Seat and the Galaxy need to find result, Find results,
and find them fast for Your Sound as they come
off a pulsating last minute win versus League leaders the
San Jose Earthquakes this past Wednesday and answered the.
Speaker 6 (16:17):
Question of when their offense would get going.
Speaker 7 (16:19):
And with two more games against both LA teams before
the World Cup break, the Sounders have a great opportunity
to solidify their position in the top three with a
couple more wins.
Speaker 8 (16:31):
I'm Danny Jackson alongside the Mighty.
Speaker 7 (16:33):
Duo tonight, former Sounders captain.
Speaker 6 (16:35):
Bran Evans here in the booth and former.
Speaker 7 (16:37):
Sounders winger Steve zach Quarani down on the sidelines.
Speaker 8 (16:41):
Before we get to Brad and Steve for their.
Speaker 7 (16:43):
Initial thoughts, let's get the Delta starting eleven for your
Sounders and a few changes for Brian Schmetzer in his
starting eleven. Andrew Thomas stays in goal is the back
for Peter Kingston gets that start on the right hand
side in place of Kilany, so you know Lopez comes
in for Alex rol Dahan playing along side Jackson Reagan
in the middle, and then knew who on that left
hand side the Sani Dotson alongside Snyder Brunel in the
(17:06):
middle of the park, Christian roll Dan takes a breather
on the bench tonight. Jordan Morris on the right hazes
for Rare after that great goal where he picked the
ball up outside his eighteen yard box, drove Ford and scored.
Speaker 6 (17:18):
He'll play the.
Speaker 7 (17:18):
Ten Ariol on the left and Masofski will be your
number nine up front.
Speaker 6 (17:22):
As the Sounders get.
Speaker 7 (17:24):
Ourselves going, here's elle galaxy with the kickoff and plais
this is gonna launch it forward, is gonna go tight
against this near corner flag for.
Speaker 8 (17:32):
A throwing deep on this left hand side.
Speaker 7 (17:34):
Sounders attacking the goal to our left of this evening
north end traditional side for the first half and then
and they have dark green kit tonight and then Elle
Galaxy attacking the south end to our right. All white
tonight for the Galaxy, the ball gets popped.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
Up one by Hasani.
Speaker 7 (17:54):
Get the starting eleven just a minute, we'll get you
that leven right now. It's a free kick for the
Sounders just outside there. So Marzi kowskiing goal of at
four of Yamannic, Glassness, Huck and Nelson and midfield three
of Winda, Seria and Tommy and then it's peck and
pencil on the outsis and then Marco Royce will play
as a false nine through the middle. So Brad three
(18:18):
points tonight important for the Sounders.
Speaker 8 (18:20):
That back up they win in midweek. How did they
get it done?
Speaker 9 (18:23):
Yeah, well, I think it's about a fast start, and
we saw it in midweek.
Speaker 6 (18:26):
It was a fast start and.
Speaker 9 (18:27):
Then all of a sudden, the tempo changed, like Schmiz
said right after that non PK call against the nw Who,
And you just can't have that with a veteran team
playing at home, the opportunity of a nine point week
when this whole thing started, and now we're in a
different position, but you have to get three points here tonight.
The crowd is out, the weather's beautiful. There's no excuse. Yes,
you have rotation. And the scary thing for the La
(18:47):
Galaxy is gonna be those front three or four when
you added Tommy into the mix, because they well catch
you on the attack, and it almost looks like they're
built a little bit more like LAFC the way they
want to play in San Diego, where they will they'll absorb.
They've got two veteran center backs and then they'll just
push forward and find these open spaces.
Speaker 8 (19:04):
Pull down the left hand side deep towards the end.
Nine is Pencil. He and Peck have been the goal
scorers at.
Speaker 6 (19:10):
The last three or four games. Peck. He's scored the
last three goals in a row for.
Speaker 7 (19:16):
La Galaxy, two against Atlanta on the road and they've
got a really poort two to one win and then
a three to one lost to Sporting Kansas City. That's
their second road game out of the three, the last
one being tonight. They've stayed on the road for the
entire week so as players to be ready to get
back down South and get to their own beds. But
(19:37):
before that got a game to play, Pencil has it
left corner of the box. Good step right there by Lopez,
who wins the free kit just outside his eighteen yard box.
Speaker 6 (19:47):
He said, sunders in the stateless seat kit tonight, attacking
the goal to our left.
Speaker 7 (19:52):
Andrew Thomas continues to league the lead with goals against
Tide four Nashville with eight sad is in support to
shield Form in this first sprint of the MLS season
before the World cut break.
Speaker 9 (20:08):
I think for the La Galaxy, like you said, it's
been a stop start season, right, they get a result
against Vancouver when they tie, and you think that things
are gonna go well.
Speaker 6 (20:15):
They go to Atlanta and get a result, which.
Speaker 9 (20:17):
Atlanta has not been good, but you still have to
travel three different time zones and get a result. And
then all of a sudden you go to you have
Kansas City all over.
Speaker 10 (20:25):
The chuck on side right now is Danny Maselski strikes
just over on the assist. The referees flagging the fast
eventually goes that we thought it was a couple of
yards off that took the shot went white.
Speaker 6 (20:36):
There will be a free kick pulled back for that
off site.
Speaker 9 (20:38):
And you lose against Kansas City, and you wouldn't expect
it out of this roster You've got Hack and Clessness
as your center backs, and proven center backs in this
league with successful teams before coming here. I think the
big miss is gonna be Nelson as a left back,
and of course Marsinkowski in goal. I'm just not sure
that he's up to the task. I mean, you think
of the La Galaxy giving away.
Speaker 7 (21:00):
Here comes Marius picked up up possession by the Galaxy
in Marius drops it off to Dotson gets his start
alongside Brunell in the middle of the parks. Sown has
habit left hand side. Yeah, marson Kowski has been point
of conversation for Greg Fanny of his last couple of weeks.
(21:20):
He's made some important saves, and Fanny said that wasn't
happening early parts of the season, where OK, if you
needed to make a big save here and there and
to get the team going. He's made those few saves.
But consistency, of course, is what you want in that
back line. Sounders have been spoiled for a choice over
the years, with likes of Casey Keller of course, who
started it all out, and then for our most recently
(21:43):
now Andrew Thomas Ball goes in behind. Here comes Masaki
strikes a good saved by that goalkeeper Marstin drops it off.
Here comes Ferreira, clear's his lions. Chet sounds getting some
early chances here, picked up by.
Speaker 6 (21:54):
Knew, who striding forward the left hand.
Speaker 7 (21:58):
Side, walls it out to Ariol gets to start as
left hand sorry today eighteen yards from the end line
with his right foot, flips it in towards Massosy, clattering
into boy Nelson. BA are gonna take a look at that.
Hark steps forward, has the ball.
Speaker 6 (22:13):
There's a la Galaxy knocked the ball out for the
first time this evening.
Speaker 7 (22:17):
We're gonna throw it down to Steve zac Quani didn't
even thing Steve.
Speaker 11 (22:20):
Yeah, I think Brad mentioned it's over the coach. It's
important for the sounders of a very fast start. And
one thing you'll see, there'll be a very healthy balance
because you're trying to keep the board possess it. That'd
be old the sound as kand and then when can
you exploit that space and behind because Galaxy they don't
mind pains quite a high line at times, and you've
seen two occasions already. Inside it's opening five minutes of
Danny Mussoski making runs and behind one was off side
(22:41):
the other one there be into a good safe from
the goalkeeper. But just look for the Sounders at times
to be maybe a bit more direct than we're used
to until the Galaxy backlind of Justice.
Speaker 6 (22:49):
Yeah, thanks Steve.
Speaker 7 (22:51):
Danny Mussoski on the deck, still getting some medical tension
from the staff as it's a one of the doctors
for the Sounders.
Speaker 6 (22:58):
He's gonna run on and check on Missovski.
Speaker 7 (23:00):
Was a clash of bodies when we look like Missosk.
Speaker 8 (23:04):
He's seeing a replay hit Brady who walks through it.
Speaker 9 (23:07):
Yeah, I mean he just takes it in the side
of the mouth. He's trying to bring that ball down
with his chest turnment air and then Nelson comes up
to try to head the ball and I think he
catches him in the cheek. We're not gonna get to
and he fell there. I don't think it's a foul.
Both players are going up for the ball. If he
throws an elbow from Nelson, I think it's possible it's
a foul, but fair play. Arms are down, you're going
up with your head. You don't know if the ball
(23:28):
is gonna skip or if he's gonna leave it. You
have to go up for the challenge. So yeah, and
you see Hillary there one of the trainers on the
sideline telling Schmitza that he got hit in the head.
Schmetz has kind of shaken. What do I have to
do to keep a number nine on the field for
such a score for more than a game and a half?
Speaker 7 (23:44):
Right, So let me ask this question. We obviously have
Maris on the right hand side. Tactically on that right,
he's at success there. Going back to Minnesota, the playoffs
last year started on the left. Is that time across
that attacking three. Azase obviously scored that winning goal on Wednesday.
You've got a natural light fullow switch in Azase all
potentially Rothrocke come on and Mars go's to the number nine.
Speaker 9 (24:05):
Well, I think you go alight for like switch because
that leaves you more options towards.
Speaker 6 (24:10):
The end of the game.
Speaker 9 (24:10):
I think if you put Jordan up top now and
start to move around people and the Snyder might have
to go out wide.
Speaker 6 (24:15):
Christian comes in.
Speaker 9 (24:17):
I think if you put Gosase in now, let him
get sixty sixty five minutes and then you see where
the game takes you, and let it go because these
two center backs hacking lessons. They're not known for speed,
and I think Osase can still find joy there. It
still surprises me every time a team plays the Sounders
when they want to play a high line, they keep
so much, they give up so much in behind that
(24:37):
it blows my mind. With players like Jordan and Mussovski
is not slow by any means. When he's got the
ball at his feet, he can move, but to go
back to his chance, I mean that's about his clear
cut of a chance inside ten minutes that you're gonna
get in any game, yep.
Speaker 6 (24:50):
And he really has to finish.
Speaker 9 (24:52):
That keeper is about fifteen sixteen yards off his line.
There's gotta be some creativity, and I think he's trying
to go five hole on him through the legs. It
just doesn't pull off. And that's a tough one. You
almost want that one on the left side coming in
so you can shape it with your right foot to
the far posts or pull it close the hips in
your post. But you know, at the end of the day,
(25:14):
I think it'll be up to the Sounders to exploit
the back line of the Galaxy tonight. A team that's
given up a significant amount of goals this season.
Speaker 6 (25:21):
Yeah, they look venerable against Sporting KC through the middle.
Speaker 12 (25:23):
All three goals came from balls direct balls through the middle.
Speaker 7 (25:26):
So Danna Massovski is walking off. It looks like he's
heading straight down the tunnel. Potentially we're gonna see if
he's gonna come back on.
Speaker 8 (25:35):
He's going off on the sideline on the far side.
Speaker 7 (25:37):
The doc's now off discussing with Nelson as well. Who
was the La Galaxy player that collided with Danny Massovski.
So you know, if Brian's gonna arrest players like the
likes of Brusneck rolled down Rothrock Azaze would be the
natural choice. Like for like that, it looks like Brusneck's
getting primed and ready. That puts Morris back up front,
(26:01):
would you say, and maybe back on the right.
Speaker 6 (26:03):
You've got the option to keep Ferra as a number
nine and then make your moves later.
Speaker 9 (26:06):
Get Rusnik is a player at his age that needs
more than five minutes just to warm up. That's the
one thing about Osase. He's a young kid. You could
throw him on the field and he's ready to go.
So the Sounders are gonna have to play a man
down for the next few minutes, keep all the play
in front of him, and as Rusnak makes his way
on the field.
Speaker 6 (26:23):
I mean, you love to see it as a Sounders fan.
Speaker 9 (26:25):
You're bringing on Rusnak, who's only going to ignite this
game and hopefully unlocked even more.
Speaker 7 (26:30):
Yeah, inside ten minutes, already a long delay for a
collision on Missovski, and it looks like Missovski will not
be coming back on Sounder trying to figure out who
their sub's gonna be. Rosnack's the player.
Speaker 6 (26:41):
Who was warming up with a bit more verb and pace.
Speaker 7 (26:46):
Everybody else seemed to sit back down on the bench
as we look down, still no player who's stripped down,
So we'll continue to keep an eye in it. But
perfect night for a game of football. Here Blueskoy and
Sunshine signs to crete through the field in shadows as
the sound is in La Galaxy continue the longtime rivalry.
Speaker 6 (27:07):
Sounders have got.
Speaker 7 (27:08):
The edge on the Galaxy and head to head in
those forty four games.
Speaker 8 (27:13):
So the ball goes.
Speaker 7 (27:16):
It was a titch off side by Pecks. He cuts
the ball back strike on just a whisker wide by
I think it was Royce who just hooked his right
leg around he near the front post about twelve yards out,
could play by the galaxy. It's going to be a
goal kick, no off side sound has continue to play
with ten men.
Speaker 6 (27:34):
Well, this is what you get out of the Galaxy.
Speaker 9 (27:36):
You have gabrielle Peck on the right hand side who
was all left foot, and then you have Paintsal on
the left hand side whose right foot both inverted and
hoping to cut inside it. And then instance gabrielle Peck
saw something right foot played across. And one thing you
have to say about Marco Royce, for all his accomplishments
and his inability to be brilliant effective when he first
came into the league, he's put in the work quietly
(27:57):
and he's done his business as any big star would
from Europe. He's done it quietly, he's not braggadocious and
he always puts himself in a good position in front
of goal.
Speaker 11 (28:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (28:08):
Summer twenty four transfer as Marco Royce in off season
for Europe. Many many many years at Brussey Adortment where
had huge success. Obviously German national team player as well
former German Player of the Year, Multi German player, of
the year and I was really trying to found his
(28:28):
way here and he need to step up last year
and this year with the absence of Rickey Pooji, of course,
who went down right before that championship game in was
the semi.
Speaker 6 (28:38):
Finals or the conference finals, I should say we went
down the Sertain Sounders.
Speaker 7 (28:43):
I believe it was I got acl injury, and unfortunately
for Ricky Pooge, he picked up another similar injury coming
back at the beginning of this season put him out
and Klaus from Saint Louis was drafted in as ADP player.
It's gonna fill the void as we see a change now,
(29:03):
so Mansofski is off and then Rusnak, who was certainly
not prepared to come on so early. It took a
little time to come off that bench. And now he's
gonna slow it up and we're gonna keep an eye.
And it looks like Morris has naturally gone out to
that central spot. I think Farrera is gonna sit on
an inverted right side where he is Farrera in the
(29:24):
exact spot down line. It goes Peter Kingston trying to
come inside. He thought maybe Nelson was gonna control it.
Let's the ball go of the end line and we
get here in the twelfth minute sounds nil Galaxy Neil.
Speaker 9 (29:36):
We'll continue to talk about the Sounders back line and
on the start of preseason, how consistent it was. We
kind of knew who the guys were, and now that
that's right hand side, it's just been an absolute revolving
door this year. And then every week it's almost the
role of the guys of who's gonna be starting at
center back and right back. And you would have never
guessed that Ben peter Kinson obviously would have never guessed
that he'd be starting games as a.
Speaker 6 (29:56):
Right back for the Sounders. But look at it. If
you're a mis field player and you have vision and
you have the ability to defend like he.
Speaker 9 (30:04):
Does, it's not that difficult to come back on the
right hand side.
Speaker 7 (30:08):
Here comes Morris over the topic goes colectible inside the
eighteen yard but just the flick it of Rosnck gets
the deflection back to the foot now of Hassani Dotson
left channel back to Morris, takes a.
Speaker 6 (30:18):
Touch forward, his left foot drives it in clear.
Speaker 7 (30:22):
Like glass towards the fact Sickeer goes and Nelson's going
to see that one out over the far end line
where Frero is stiffing around on that back post. It'll
be a goalkick for La Galaxy and as the goalkeeper
gets a set, we're gonna throw down to you.
Speaker 6 (30:36):
Steve.
Speaker 11 (30:36):
Yeah, no formation change from the Sounders, but the way
they play will change on the pitch. And in particular
Peter Kingston with Jordan Rus in front of him, Jordan's
very vertical, is gonna run in straight lines. Maybe try
and make up outside in run with Jordan's went up
top and he's soo's now on the right hand side.
He sues doesn't want to stay away, he wants to
come inside, play close to Rus. Snack Bill traangles. It
did well in midweek and so that's going to mean
(30:57):
Kingston has to make a lot more of a different.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
Type of game.
Speaker 6 (31:00):
Thinks.
Speaker 7 (31:00):
See if Sounders knick the ball off the Galaxy as
a building out the back, and.
Speaker 6 (31:04):
Here's where the Galaxy yard dangers.
Speaker 7 (31:05):
In transition Peck to this right hand side, Royce has
it rolls into Peck got five yards in from this
near touch one drops his shoulder to his preferred left
foot and it goes to Tommy former.
Speaker 6 (31:15):
Sporting k c Man made the change in the.
Speaker 7 (31:18):
Offseason back to Peck, who look to pick up an
injury in warm up, so.
Speaker 8 (31:22):
He looks to be okay. Now not a pencil on
the far side.
Speaker 7 (31:24):
They'll drop the shold to his right foot, takes a deflection.
Just why it's gonna be a corner kick on this
near side. And that's the danger you get from these players.
You have a right footed player on the left in Pencil,
you have a left footed player on the right with Peck.
They drop the shoulder, come inside and take those shots.
It's gonna be a corner kick.
Speaker 9 (31:41):
All the danger is is when Marcael Royce, like you said,
it's gonna play as that false nine. So for Tino
and for Jackson Reagan, you cannot allow him to step
off the back line ten fifteen yards and then be
able to turn and have fifteen yards to run into.
A center back has to go with him. They say pressure,
cover balance, Right, you step up your pressure. The other
one covers in back. If you allow Royce to find space,
(32:02):
he's going to pick out those passes.
Speaker 7 (32:03):
There's Royces short corner kicks a Peck to Yamane. The
right back comes in today on that right hand side.
The experienced Japanese player. Another experience Japanese players Yoshida number
four on the benure as well many years in Europe.
Speaker 6 (32:19):
Has played well for the Galaxy.
Speaker 7 (32:21):
Over the last few years, but introduction of Harken Lessness
from New York City and philadel Fear is trying to
anchor the back line. There's been leaky certainly since the
MLS Cup win last year, giving the second most goals
in MLS. Did the LA Galaxy sixty six goals given
(32:43):
up last year against four to six scored? Well, it's
clipped four point Nelson, no one. They're making the right
There's going to be a test for Peter Kings. It
gets draft in that right hand. So I came off
the bench a number of times over the last couple
of weeks.
Speaker 6 (32:57):
Has done well.
Speaker 7 (32:57):
Now he gets his shot. But I mean, there's no
how to test into the league right now than pencil.
Speaker 6 (33:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (33:03):
Look, I think to Steve's point is dead on. But
this allows Kingston to be a bit more creative and
get it involved in the attack a bit more, and
I think that's what the Sounders ultimately want. Yes, Jordan's
kind of a one man machine. When he plays out wide,
really hugging the line. But now you know, Peter Kingston's
got to be smart though. It's much like Kilanie. He
had a lot of joy coming into this team early
on where players didn't really know him, didn't know that
(33:23):
he was going to get into the attack, and he
actually provided I think he scored against the Galaxy last
year at home from that right flank position. And so
Kingston's gotta be gotta remember defend first attack second.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
Oh no, look bull by Ferrero.
Speaker 7 (33:36):
Still one of those passes in midweek against San Jose,
Way flitted it around the corner, split the back line.
Speaker 8 (33:43):
There's a brilliant pass that connected this one didn't already.
Speaker 7 (33:46):
See Peter Kingston, like Kilani, like Alex Schroldon, has over
the years, farry forward and.
Speaker 6 (33:52):
Be an additional option for high and right.
Speaker 8 (33:57):
Peter wins that balloff pencil.
Speaker 7 (33:59):
It's his fucket picked by Ferreruho comes back, just gets
a foot in.
Speaker 6 (34:03):
I think for Peter it's such a great story. I mean,
I went to a park about a month and a
half ago and.
Speaker 9 (34:08):
I was doing some private training and Kingston's there in
the afternoon doing private training, just trying to make a
little extra scratches as before his new contract and signing
that first team contract, where you just you know, the hustle,
the hustle of a soccer player. Yes, you love being
a professional, but at the end of the day, when
you got a couple of kids and you're a youngster,
but you're just fighting scrap it. So tonight it's a
(34:29):
great opportunity for him to start this one, have a good,
solid performance and ultimately, when you're in that position, you
want to leave the field knowing you did your job defensively.
Speaker 6 (34:38):
If you can add anything to the attack, that's just
the plus.
Speaker 7 (34:41):
He is Ariel a left hand side plays the ball
along the Saxon. It's in the outstretched leg of Hawk,
who gets rid of the bull. As two Sounds players
run into each other and Dotson and ariol or is
Ariel tries to grab on Peck, knowing the danger that
Galaxy have in transitions, wying to the former Louisville man
runs down.
Speaker 8 (34:58):
The right, but Peck's gonna pick it up.
Speaker 7 (35:00):
Just drive forward to the left corner of each and
the Yardbot's a good step by Jackson.
Speaker 6 (35:04):
Reagan Royce wasn't having any of that.
Speaker 7 (35:07):
Fifty to fifty challenge when he saw Jackson Reagan coming
towards him and it sounds picking up. Here's Rossnak got
some time in space across half.
Speaker 6 (35:13):
Whyland dead sense and Morris makes us run. Morris has
a top of.
Speaker 7 (35:16):
The box, good tracking by the back line to Ferrera
gets behind him, click around the corner, good tackle by Nelson.
Speaker 8 (35:25):
And it's pencil wide open.
Speaker 7 (35:27):
Right now on the left hand side, the game is stretched.
Alexey won't mind that right now as they have that
fire power up front us where Bredon Steve mentioned, here's
Tommy how to listening this side the right with Peck.
No one's gonna drop the should little give and go
this time he's one of the best one to one players.
Boof no deflection of news clear. It's almost found Peck inadvertently,
(35:47):
but it rolls through to Andrew Thomas.
Speaker 6 (35:49):
Oh, that's the one for Peter Kingson.
Speaker 9 (35:51):
You think you get on the counter attack and you
sprint seventy yards hoard and all of a sudden, one
mispass and it's a seventy yard sprint backwards and defend,
defend first right. You don't want to your legs out
beneath you before this one even gets started. But you
can't say enough about Jackson Reagan so far this season.
I mean he's been tremendous and thought I thought Wednesday night,
especially every challenge in the air he was looking for
(36:12):
the ball specifically, but it didn't matter if there were
two or three guys around.
Speaker 6 (36:16):
He's gonna come through the ball. He's been incredible so
far this year.
Speaker 7 (36:20):
Here's Ariola drops the should towards the end like could
defend him by your man.
Speaker 8 (36:23):
It doesn't quite go out, stood up, strong, won.
Speaker 7 (36:27):
The ball comes away with it down this right hand side.
This in near side is the Galaxy goal to our
right and all whites and I put clear. It's by
Tommy top of the boxes. Perrera chance to shoot, strikes
it block picked up by Nelson.
Speaker 6 (36:39):
On the far side.
Speaker 7 (36:41):
He was verribly flying high with confidence after a fantastic goal.
We picked it up just outside his eighteen yard box
and it felt like the entire field opened up till
he drove forward top of the box, a little cut
to his left and then.
Speaker 6 (36:53):
To his right. Daniel in the santose a goal.
Speaker 8 (36:56):
Was rooted to the spot couldn't do anything about it.
Speaker 9 (37:01):
It was a fantastic finish and that's what you need
out of your big players when when you need a
result at home, it's got to have some magic from somewhere.
Speaker 6 (37:08):
And the Sounders have a plethora of options in the attack.
Speaker 9 (37:12):
But for showed that on Wednesday night, and of course
Osse coming on and getting the winner at the death
was a was just icing on the cake for the
Sounders because I think if you.
Speaker 6 (37:20):
Tie that game, you can start asking some questions before.
Speaker 9 (37:22):
The break and before this game. It's it's real mood
booster when you get that result at home.
Speaker 6 (37:29):
Yep.
Speaker 7 (37:29):
It was two drawers on the truck two one one
against Sporting Casey on the road and it was San
Diego at home.
Speaker 6 (37:35):
On that a week ago.
Speaker 7 (37:38):
Arriola went flowing into Royce, didn't connect with the player
or the boat. A couple of shouts for the intent
maybe on that temple, but it comes Tommy for the galls.
He striding forward, a little stud of step move as
he's got short little snatch.
Speaker 6 (37:53):
There's Tommy a little giveaway.
Speaker 7 (37:56):
Broke kingson came off that right bank spot, but it
goes back into position Galaxy have it on his near side.
Speaker 6 (38:02):
They're right with Royce. Game is wide. Oh, a bit
of a horse race right now, just.
Speaker 7 (38:06):
A that's the twenty minute mark Neil Milt Jean Sounders
and the Galaxy Sports Radio ninety three point three KGr
FM tonight where we're listening to us on the car
and the road that sticks with Apple.
Speaker 6 (38:20):
At home.
Speaker 7 (38:22):
We appreciate you joining us. Sounders looking to try and
finish up this first half.
Speaker 6 (38:28):
Of the MLS season before the World Cup break with
a couple of wins.
Speaker 7 (38:31):
Against two LA teams. Galaxy this week LAFC on the
road on a Sunday night game down in La Yamane
throws it in quickly or jostling with new.
Speaker 8 (38:46):
Galaxy is starting to find a foothold into this game.
Speaker 7 (38:49):
It's trying to get a bit more possession now is
Sounders came out of the gates quickly, Brad.
Speaker 8 (38:55):
But it feels like Galaxy now finding playing some rhythm
in their passing.
Speaker 11 (38:58):
Well.
Speaker 9 (38:58):
Look, I think they came out of the gates quickly
against Sporting Kansas City, obviously San Diego as well and
again on Wednesday night. But it's a sustained pressure that
the Sounders have to have if they're gonna get results
and put the ball in the back of the head.
So it's all about possession for the Sounders, and it
seems to be look, you talked about Hayesius Frere and
that one look pass that works, but on Wednesday night
(39:20):
there were seven or eight before that that didn't come off.
And the Sounders are trying to get into the attack.
Guys are making runs, but you don't have to play
that ball.
Speaker 3 (39:28):
You don't have to be that guy.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
I think if it's Hayesius on the ball, it comes
Peck inside the eg and Yard bucks up. Brilliant pass
by Royce, and it was a brilliant run by Peck.
Speaker 7 (39:39):
It came off the right hand so you could see
from a pay of opening up and Jackson Reagan.
Speaker 8 (39:45):
Wasn't able to keep with their run, didn't hold his.
Speaker 7 (39:47):
Line and Pecks picks it up and that's his fourth
goal in the last three games.
Speaker 6 (39:54):
And the Galaxy go at one nil.
Speaker 9 (39:55):
I mean, what a finish from the Peck, but an
even better ball. And this is another one where Royce
comes off the back line. Tino decides not to come
with him early enough. He allows Royce to turn. And
if you allow a player like that with such quality,
he's gonna pick out any pass he wants. And when
Peck comes in off of that right hand side, you
know he's going to his left foot every time closes
the hips, Andrew Thomas tries for the hockey stop, gets low,
(40:19):
gets his left legout.
Speaker 6 (40:21):
It's a fantastic finish.
Speaker 9 (40:23):
And again we talked about it, you cannot as we
talked about the false nine. It's really difficult to be
a center back and to think I have to hold
my position at all times. Walking here on the replay,
nobody nobody goes. Tino goes to step and then decides
not to Burnell as well.
Speaker 6 (40:38):
Who's gonna go? Am I gonna go?
Speaker 9 (40:40):
Everyone's shaking their head and you allow him to turn
take three or four touches and that is a pinpoint pass.
Speaker 12 (40:46):
That really is a brilliant pass by Royce and it's
a class finish as well. Yeah, Peck has been in
great fulm coming into this game. Consolation goal, game supporting case.
Speaker 6 (40:56):
But what a goal that was.
Speaker 8 (40:57):
And here he is now again. I'll fitz right hand side.
Speaker 7 (41:00):
It's a Yamani Galxy have bit between their teeth right now.
Try to get their season back on track. Here comes
pencil vide yards from gold left of center, ruws at
ten yards square to wind it now to the lesid.
Speaker 6 (41:12):
It's the big number.
Speaker 7 (41:13):
Five Norwegian all's about to hark and came in the
off season from New York City.
Speaker 6 (41:19):
There's the man Royce who looks ever so comfortable in
the middle of the park. Wherever he's playing.
Speaker 7 (41:25):
He's floating off that back four and when you got
two of the back four have changed.
Speaker 8 (41:32):
It's all about communication, especially when you got movement coming
in front.
Speaker 7 (41:35):
Of you like that.
Speaker 9 (41:35):
It's about communication, but it's also Look if I'm Jackson
Reagan and you know I'm having that conversation before this game.
You know by watching the Galaxies tape without jau Klaus
Royce is going to be able to pick out any
pass he wants, and you have to make him keep
the ball and not face the Sounder's goal.
Speaker 8 (41:56):
He comes, Ariel saves.
Speaker 7 (41:57):
If we're going over the end line, left putting eighteen
yard box now drops it back to new number of
Sounders players in around the top of the eighteen yard box.
Speaker 6 (42:06):
A little quiet in the offensive third.
Speaker 8 (42:08):
Over the last five minutes or so, Sounders trying to
get back into this game.
Speaker 6 (42:12):
It's Snyder.
Speaker 8 (42:13):
Brunell tries to go after the little deflection. Pleass, don't know.
Speaker 6 (42:15):
Where it went.
Speaker 7 (42:16):
Good step by Jackson Reagan on Royce top of the boxes.
Brunell roughs it out square too new, Whereasnack floats out to.
Speaker 8 (42:25):
This near side take yet said about.
Speaker 7 (42:27):
Eighteen yards in the end nine left channel that can
comes to Hasani Dotson.
Speaker 6 (42:32):
It's just too narrow for the Sounders. At some point
someone has to find the whith.
Speaker 7 (42:37):
To find a Widford speed as well, because before you
know it, now being one mill up the Galaxy third
game on the road, there'll be some weary legs.
Speaker 6 (42:46):
It showed in Kansas City.
Speaker 7 (42:48):
In midweek, for sure, where there was nothing more than
consolation goal by Peck at the very end who denied
Steph Cleveland, former Sounders man, his clean sheet.
Speaker 6 (42:57):
He was extremely.
Speaker 7 (42:58):
Frustrating the end of that game. But Sounds have had
three games in the row and hope so very different
looks of last week for these two teams. But right
now it looks like the Galaxy have got a bit
more about than in these first twenty five minutes. They
leave one goal to nil here at lumin Field. Sounders
(43:20):
have it with Lopez, who's been good performer so far
in his first real year of time with the first
team and on the pitch alongside Jacks o'reagan. Of course,
Yemar has been out injured for a good couple of
months now, and we expect him to come back after
the war cut now, but he's out in the parts
field when it comes as Gotche does.
Speaker 6 (43:42):
Wriggles Free tries to go around Lesnar's.
Speaker 7 (43:44):
Falls over, no foul, but threw his five yards away
from the sound Is man as he hit the deck.
No foul given, Sounders, do you pick it up in
their half of the field? Still with Jackson Reagan, that's
what you need from darts and more of that. Find
yourself in advanced walls, turn and go out defenders his
sole athletic, he's yet to imprint his game on this
Sounder squad. I think he thought he was gonna come
in and be a starter, but now he's face some adversity.
(44:06):
He had the concussion and he's gonna have to work
his way to be the first off the bench for
the Sounders when it is a full strength lineup. But
for him, he's got to impose his game offensively and
him and Snyder have to figure out when one goes
one stays and really take advantage of those opportunities.
Speaker 6 (44:22):
And this is what I mean by narrow. Paul Ariola
still this on this left flank, He's only crowding things.
Speaker 9 (44:27):
I still think the sounders have opportunities to bring players wide.
And it's a switch of attack in a long ball,
it's two A to B B, two C C to
D the galaxy just eat it up.
Speaker 7 (44:38):
Yeah, gal is certainly sitting in a back bank of
four with Uma six, a drop in to a fake line,
a couple of defensive mids, sos.
Speaker 8 (44:46):
The sound as built out from the bat. We'll throw
it down to your state.
Speaker 3 (44:48):
Yeah, I think.
Speaker 11 (44:49):
I know as a player, he's spend a lot of
time playing left wing, thinking about attacking, similar maybe to
the mindset of a paint sill for example, one era.
What Peter Kingston can get him, He's just make a
hard running behind because I guarantee you, penns he does
not want to be running back towards his own volt.
Kingston's beginning to hold it off Wood, which is good,
but he's still very static as a left winger.
Speaker 6 (45:06):
I'd be okay with that.
Speaker 11 (45:07):
It's when the right back we just take off and
I did not want to go that way. You do
that once you put down in his mind. He just
forced him to maybe start five to ten yards back.
Speaker 6 (45:15):
Yeah, thanks safe.
Speaker 7 (45:16):
As the Sounders were venturing forward, it was Ariola who
picked the ball up just outside the eighteen yard box
left corner and he was pulled down.
Speaker 6 (45:26):
Free kick was given.
Speaker 7 (45:28):
Like for a moment, it could have been inside the
eighteen but so about half a yard outside, it's gonna
be Rosneck and Ferrera are standing over the ball.
Speaker 6 (45:37):
It's a great point from Steve.
Speaker 9 (45:38):
I just think that the way that the Sounders play,
they don't really create two v ones on the outside
that makes Paintsill have to drop and defend. It's usually
if Peter Kinson goes wide, then Jesus comes in and
the two center backs are two for two and then
it's just Peter kingson outside that He's got to find
that relationship with Hayesus to create those overloads to force
Paintzel to defend.
Speaker 8 (46:00):
It comes right right now, stepping forward, hips it in low,
headed up in the air.
Speaker 6 (46:05):
Headed forward by new who can't get any more direction.
Speaker 7 (46:07):
Other than just straight into the hands of the Galaxy
goalkeeper and he's gonna step forward and decked out all
blue today as he launched the wall throw towards Nelson
far side.
Speaker 8 (46:19):
Good little flick to Tommy tries to flick it around
the corner.
Speaker 7 (46:22):
He's going to go around Peter Kingston and that's a
collision of bodies. Actually was low Pairs who came across
from his right center back spot.
Speaker 6 (46:31):
Gave up the free kick.
Speaker 7 (46:33):
Another chance for the Galaxy now to get some delivery
in the box. You know they've got some quality with
Royce and peck certainly right foot left foot options for
them as they put the ball in the decks a
couple of yards in from that far sideline the left
hand side.
Speaker 8 (46:51):
Sends the big men up in winder Park Gladness.
Speaker 7 (46:58):
Some big players up there the targets for now Marco
Royce as Peckers making his move across to this near side,
just floating free on his back stick.
Speaker 8 (47:09):
It's gonna be Royce is gonna whip it in with
his right foot.
Speaker 7 (47:12):
Knew who goes down needs to get up defend as
the ball goes in again picked up by Brunell, now
by Rosneck.
Speaker 8 (47:19):
Good ball into.
Speaker 7 (47:19):
Dots and hick on the Sounders in transition, but the
White shows the Galaxy come back quickly and crowd out
Ferrera initially.
Speaker 8 (47:28):
But he managed to pick up the loose ball and
plays it to Jackson Reagan.
Speaker 7 (47:32):
He had a number of great chances from set pieces
himself in the last game against San Jose. Steve and
I were talking about it, and I felt like, this
is that we've said it as well in that game
since just the next evolution for his game.
Speaker 8 (47:45):
Can he get four, five, six.
Speaker 7 (47:47):
Goals to really launch into that upper echelon of center
backs in the league.
Speaker 9 (47:51):
Well, he should and if he wants to be an
All Star of best eleven, he's got up with the
ball in the back of the head. He can do
all the great defending he wants, but at the end
of the day, he's going to have to find the
little score in touch.
Speaker 6 (48:01):
And I know that he wants that too. He's found
his way into the lineup. That was job one. Job
to get a new contract.
Speaker 9 (48:06):
Great, but now you've got to start racking up some
accomplishments to go along with that, and you.
Speaker 6 (48:11):
Know that he wants to and it's there.
Speaker 9 (48:12):
It's just that finishing touch but he keeps putting himself
in great positions. I think the goals are gonna come if, if, if,
the service continues to be there. But it doesn't get
any easier than the other night. The second diving header
that he had, that's got it at at minimum on frame.
Speaker 7 (48:30):
Goot play by Peter Kingston goes bought him two ball
and playoff pencil just lit pushing the back Kingson goes down.
Speaker 8 (48:36):
Sounds got as going as we hit the thirty second minute.
Speaker 7 (48:39):
Here at lumen Field, Sound is trailing one goal Chanil
to the La Galaxy and.
Speaker 8 (48:46):
This scorph He's presented by michelob Ultra.
Speaker 6 (48:51):
Jackson.
Speaker 7 (48:51):
Reagan's could have cliped the ball with his ranger passages
near side too. Harry Olds pulls it down the outside
of his foot Yamani almost stepped in quite get there.
Speaker 6 (49:01):
Dotson has its on the far side. Oh butit is
He fans out to the right.
Speaker 7 (49:06):
Lopez carries the ball forward, but Benzel blocks out in
the passing angle. Sound is a lay but somewhat in
their possession right now, it's not able to get Morris
involved or Ferrara or Russneck.
Speaker 9 (49:21):
And look it's the opposite for lafc than it has
been for the Sounders. Center backs, Hack and Glassness are.
Speaker 6 (49:26):
Just tracking Jordan everywhere he goes.
Speaker 9 (49:28):
If Jesus comes inside and he shows for the ball,
Hack is more than willing to go ten fifteen yards
and vacate his position to make sure that he cannot
turn and find a pat and entry pass.
Speaker 7 (49:39):
Then left hand side is Rusnick. Can he make things
happen towards the end? Like good tracking by Yamani. Then Gladsness,
the big central defender just slides and he's asking for
a ham ball, but what he went out of play,
it's gonna be.
Speaker 8 (49:51):
A sound has thrown on his near side there left.
Speaker 6 (49:54):
Ariel gets it in quickly to new who has to
come back.
Speaker 7 (49:57):
Banks of white shirts facing Jackson Reagan in possession as
he plays it to Brunell well Tonight's match is presented
by michelob Ultra.
Speaker 6 (50:05):
Superior Game meets Superior Taste. Grab a Michelope Ultra.
Speaker 7 (50:08):
There's Superior light beer as you cheer your team on
michelob Ultra, official beer sponsor of Seattle Sounders FC. The
Lopez has it, holds it out to Kingston. That's doing
a good job so far. That's a little flick around
the corner from Varra. Can Morris gets a hard it's
(50:30):
gonna be an off side.
Speaker 6 (50:31):
It's just the hair offside. Another shoulder off side for Jordan.
Speaker 7 (50:36):
Yeah, Jordan was fighting a last couple of games, a
couple of physical battles as he fought.
Speaker 6 (50:42):
Through the middle of a couple of teams and usually
gets his own way.
Speaker 7 (50:48):
But there's some big boys out there now in MLS
through the middle puzzically.
Speaker 9 (50:53):
And I think at the end of the day, Jordan,
as you age, you lose a step a little bit,
and he certainly has.
Speaker 6 (50:57):
But that and that's okay. You just see some reinvent
himself a little bit.
Speaker 9 (51:00):
He's got to be a bit smarter on those runs
and understand that he's still fast enough to be a
yard behind a center back if the ball is played appropriately, He's.
Speaker 6 (51:10):
Got no problem getting in behind and finding that space.
Speaker 9 (51:15):
I think as a striker, we think we have to
be shoulder to shoulder to give ourselves the best advantage.
And I think Jordan's cot in between two minds right now.
Is am I going to be a physical presence? They
want me to be physical? Or am I fast?
Speaker 6 (51:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (51:28):
And he just has to play his own game and
play on his instincts, because that's what's gotten him here.
I mean four or five years ago in La with
Daniel Stais playing as a center back, gave him all
the room in the world. But Jordan's able to take
a touch five yards away from him, take a touch
around and get around and then finish a brilliant goal
down in La.
Speaker 6 (51:45):
It's in there.
Speaker 9 (51:46):
He just needs a good run of form, two to three,
four games in a row with a goal, and it's
going to open up for me. That was a brilliant
goal outside his right foot.
Speaker 8 (51:55):
I remember that king off that left the right hand side.
Speaker 6 (51:57):
He's gonna going to the far posts.
Speaker 7 (52:00):
Sounds just it's a little bit forwards at times, little
bit backwards, just allowing the White Shirts get back behind
the ball. That's a good balling so areal quick little
turn inside the eighteen yard box, left side, back to
the dots and quick turn, go square to Jackson Regultl
running side by Kingston. Now he fans out to the outside,
collects it with Nelson on him, about eighteen yards from
the end. Light drop the shoulder towards the end. Ninety
(52:22):
goes to play by Nelson. He's defended well so far
as the left back for the Galaxy. As the ball
goes out far side for a sounder's throat, well, Kingston.
Speaker 9 (52:30):
Now knows, yes, he's got all the moves in the bag.
He knows that Nelson's gonna go to ground, So next
time it's all just putting things in the.
Speaker 6 (52:35):
Memory bank for the second half.
Speaker 9 (52:37):
If he's gonna go down three or four times, as
soon as I take my big touch, next time, Kingston's
just gonna pull the ball back. Nelson will be sliding
and it'll be service from his left foot.
Speaker 8 (52:46):
Good dragged down by through Now it just goes body
between ball and player.
Speaker 7 (52:50):
Couldn't quite bring the ball down and couldn't control and
the Galaxy clear their loins well. Sound As FC Soccer
is presented by Provident, Swedish Official Healthcare of Sounders FC.
Speaker 6 (53:02):
Ten minutes ago of this first half, it's been back
and forth.
Speaker 7 (53:06):
It was a horse race for the first fifteen minutes,
just wide open Sounders who are having the better of
the first fifteen minutes. And then the Galaxy started to
get some control and finished off that period of good
possession with a fantastic goal that puts them up one
nill and the Sounders now starting to drag themselves back
in the game, get a bit more possession as they
(53:26):
hit fifty seven possession so far, and they've been about
twenty five shots per game on average last three games
of the Sounders, so there's been no issue getting offensive opportunities.
The challenge has been other than the last game where
the Sounder's got three goals against the league leaders, is
(53:47):
getting goals and that's just four ball by Jackson Reagan.
Speaker 9 (53:51):
And that's the one thing I think the Sounders are
missing is that switching ball, switching point of attack that's
consistently on. Because if you're a center back on the
opposing team, I know that the opposing center back has
the ability to hit that switching ball into space. I
have to respect that and offer more room and more
space to any wide midfielder. But it's not really in
(54:13):
the Sounders DNA to hit that ball. So Galaxy are
happy to sit back and defends.
Speaker 6 (54:17):
Ariel left hand side.
Speaker 7 (54:18):
It's gonna whip it in way too close to the goalkeeper.
Just a whip it in between the back line and
the goalkeepers. A little bit of space, maybe a five
yard window, but just got a little bit too close
to marson Kowski and Morris wasn't able to get there.
Speaker 8 (54:34):
Goalkeeper for La has the ball at his feet.
Speaker 7 (54:36):
He's gonna clip it forward to this near so I
could ball find Giamani pins it down well. Royce deep
deep in his own half of the field is a
false nine, and Tommy's gonna fill that void. It's a
good movement from the La midfield. When one drops the
other one goes to fill in that spot.
Speaker 9 (54:54):
Look, if I'm Marco Royce, I've done my job tonight
so far. I get pretty much jog and just put
myself in good boziz in front of goal. Save my
legs for when I needed the most, but just occupy
the space of those center backs and draw him out
of position like you said. Then Tommy comes in and
plays as the nine. But again Royce allowed to even
deep in his own half, allowed to turn and face
(55:15):
the field and pick out any pass. If I'm Albert Rusnak,
I'm gonna get tight. I'm gonna fall him, put something
on him, make him know that he's in a game.
To that instead, it's free, free, free play for every
Galaxy player.
Speaker 7 (55:29):
Sugestic ft answers point up here on the west end.
You get to seal this movement and this seems to
be plenty of space for the sound Is to find
some angles of passing. But same thing for the Galaxy.
You have good movement. Pet comes in off that right
hand size did for the goal floats in causes some
challenges and problems for the back line for the Sounders.
Haven't quite solved it yet. The Sounders do you pick
(55:53):
up the loose ball then give it away.
Speaker 6 (55:54):
To Siio, the.
Speaker 8 (55:58):
Strong central midfield player that came in from Dallas.
Speaker 7 (56:04):
It comes that man Royce rolls the ball out, says
in there, so it's the Pack just waits the pass
nicely and Pack picks it up, drops out to Iamani.
It's kind of way you need to play a bit
more compact to maybe a bit of a bike where
the Aussie Alonzo type of player can come.
Speaker 6 (56:20):
In and just it's unset with this midfield that seems
pretty comfortable.
Speaker 9 (56:24):
Right now in possession for the Galaxy. Well you see
the difference in play now from Gabrielle Pack. Anytime a
team goes up one nothing in normal circumstance, Gabrielle Pick
gets the ball here on the left, drops it and
then he sprints into space. Now the Galaxy are up
one nothing, they're comfortable. He drops the ball off and
then he just jogs and gets into position right. It's
a possession based game now for the Galaxy. They're gonna
take their chances when they come, but they're just offering
(56:47):
the Sounders. Any bad pass, we're gonna catch you on
the break. Otherwise we're gonna maintain possession, keep things tight.
Play a four or five to one, defensively.
Speaker 6 (56:57):
Comfortable headed by Hawks.
Speaker 7 (57:00):
Kingston trying to find the ball in behind the big
central defender as pet plays a great wolf from his
near sight to the far side to pencil got five
minutes ago of this first half, sound is trailing one
gold to nil against the Galaxy. Tommy has it top
of the eighteen yard box, turns left, channel goes back to.
Speaker 8 (57:18):
Royce, who's just dictating things through the middle.
Speaker 6 (57:20):
Of the park, and matter have sometimes how many miles.
Speaker 7 (57:24):
You've got in the leg, how many years of experience
you've got, and experience county.
Speaker 6 (57:28):
Games like this.
Speaker 7 (57:29):
We need five pockets of space and the wall goes
out now from center the winding to far side. Tommy
there's little stutter steps that he has with pencil on there.
Sounders just backed up on top of their eighteen yard boxes.
Your money makes her on the back post, takes the deflection.
Lopez takes control, but not a great headed by Lopez.
Speaker 6 (57:49):
He rips up now by pencil left channel, eighteen yards
from the end line. Gets it again.
Speaker 7 (57:54):
Little back heel towards Tommy left foot strikes the ball
towards Winder a little pushing them back by Surio. But
the Galux, you will pick it up again. It's a
galaxy right now and it's cleasiness the big center back.
Maybe not what you want.
Speaker 9 (58:08):
Well, I'm just thinking those past when if it was
Clint Dempsey, if it was Nico Ladero.
Speaker 6 (58:13):
I just can't remember a game where any.
Speaker 9 (58:15):
Player like Marco Royce Tonight was allowed to turn face
the ball with zero pressure. He hasn't sprint once in
this game. He's jogging through it and the ability to
do whatever he wants. That if I'm another team, if
I'm the Sounders, or if I was playing against clintor Wright,
was always how can.
Speaker 6 (58:29):
We disrupt his play? How can we get him off
his game?
Speaker 9 (58:32):
Get it more into a mental battle, than it is
necessarily a physical battle. But right now he's got the
ability every Galaxy player just to pick up their head,
take the space and play free with with no pressure.
Speaker 6 (58:43):
Yeah, no one's getting stuck in.
Speaker 7 (58:45):
But don't envy Steve's that crony having to talk to
Bryn Schwetz getting out for.
Speaker 8 (58:48):
The second off.
Speaker 6 (58:49):
What a feeling.
Speaker 7 (58:50):
Brian's not feeling so great about the performance of his
team so far. They you know, got strong possession of
fifty five percent, but really, just have me nothing given
the Galaxy goalkeeper really much to deal with over the
last thirty.
Speaker 6 (59:04):
Minutes or so.
Speaker 7 (59:05):
It was a floy of ten minutes because they do
it now before the halftime break ball goes in, so
Ricochet is going to find the hands of marsin Kowski.
Speaker 6 (59:12):
Well.
Speaker 7 (59:12):
This copyrighted audio cast of Major League Soccer may not

this first half Sounder's nil Galaxy won.
Speaker 6 (59:25):
This scorpy is presented by Prominent Swedish. The Sounders are.
Speaker 7 (59:29):
Pushing to try and twin things up as they did
in the last game from the penalty spot that time
against San Jose.
Speaker 6 (59:38):
But Pencil now has.
Speaker 7 (59:39):
Got some space down this left hand side, tracked by
Peter Kingston, picks a ball up ten yards from the end.
I drop the shoulder to a deferred white foot good
defended by Peter.
Speaker 6 (59:48):
Peter.
Speaker 7 (59:48):
As he came back, Surreo has it back to Gleslis
doesn't shoot this time, comes out to this near sight
of Peck and then Yamane.
Speaker 6 (01:00:00):
To start to step. Their line up disjointed.
Speaker 3 (01:00:03):
In that back line.
Speaker 7 (01:00:04):
You see Jackson a couple of yards behind Lopez, who's
now tracking royces quite know how far to go right.
Speaker 6 (01:00:11):
Greaty can see here's you almost see him.
Speaker 8 (01:00:14):
Thinking how far do I go?
Speaker 6 (01:00:15):
Do a step?
Speaker 9 (01:00:16):
When not he wants it all day. He's still got
his hand in the air. As Marsokowski sends out one
long He's looking around. I've got no one within fifteen
twenty yards of me.
Speaker 6 (01:00:26):
Give me the ball. That's what any good player does, right.
He's seen this, He's seen this a million times. For
the game at this point is so slow for him.
He knows when he can receive the ball, and if
he puts his hand up, you better be the one
that gives it to him.
Speaker 7 (01:00:39):
Yeah, well, there's gonna be some matter of minutes for sure.
We'll see what the fourth offisher puts on the board
for that head injury. Let's mind if it was an
early change in the game. And so the first ten
minutes when Nanna Musosk who started down the middle, had
to come off flihing to his head and that's a
giveaway for the Sounders. Pety Kingson comes with that professional foul,
easy yellow time for the free just inside the Sounders
(01:01:01):
defensive half of the field, and they gave the ball up,
sprinted down. Brad makes his way behind me down for
his halftime duties. Well, May is a a n HBI
Heritage Month.
Speaker 8 (01:01:14):
Support a a n HBI owned small.
Speaker 7 (01:01:16):
Businesses during the month of May for a chance to
win Sounders FC prizes. Visit intentionalis dot com to find
a business near you. A minute to go the forty
five and then whatever the referee will add on.
Speaker 8 (01:01:33):
For the Sounders.
Speaker 7 (01:01:34):
It's gonna require a little bit of reorganization in this
for the second half, I believe, and the coaching staff
and their words of wisdom at halftime. So if it'll
be some tactical changes, of course, you've got players like
Christian rolled On, Paul Rothrockoff that can come off the
bench for the second half. Its Brad mentioned to Steve
(01:01:56):
nun just balancing this. The Galaxy team is not the
Sounders to do and they come the Galaxy.
Speaker 6 (01:02:01):
The pencil tres it guided to the far posty clicked
to the ball. It's gonna be an offside.
Speaker 7 (01:02:07):
Assistant referees lag on this near side comes up, pencil
just inched off side. So it's been a real good
test for Peter Kingston so far on this right hand side.
Then Soil certainly one of the best outside wingers in MLS.
Ten goal, ten assists on his first campaign in MLS.
Speaker 6 (01:02:25):
When the.
Speaker 7 (01:02:27):
Galaxy one that MLS comes a great ball in behind
by Farrera, cuts the ball, good tracking by Hark, turns
around the corner does Pharrera pokes it in cleared.
Speaker 8 (01:02:37):
By Nelson's been the right place, right time all night.
Speaker 6 (01:02:40):
As the Galaxy left back.
Speaker 8 (01:02:45):
Knew who has it on this near side, rolls it
out to Areola down the line.
Speaker 7 (01:02:49):
It goes given away by Ariola again a little cheaply
by the Sounders, easily for the Galaxy to come away
with him with Royce.
Speaker 8 (01:02:58):
Now he's got time and space to gather it and
drive forward.
Speaker 7 (01:03:01):
No pressure from any sound that's driving forward to thirty
forty five yards. There's Pencil inside the eighten yarbox overlapping
run by Royce, and Pencil just was in between two
minds what to do.
Speaker 6 (01:03:13):
In the end, he just lost the ball.
Speaker 8 (01:03:14):
But collects it.
Speaker 7 (01:03:15):
Nelson farside has it five minutes of added time here
already a minute into the five Sounders idealing with the
nick of Gold before the halftime break.
Speaker 6 (01:03:28):
But certainly don't want to give anything.
Speaker 7 (01:03:30):
More to I'm sure a fatigue Galaxy team, but it's
certainly not showing it in the manner in which the
Sounders that allowed them to play and dictate possession at times,
I mean comfortable forcing the Sounds like to chase.
Speaker 6 (01:03:44):
The times and it's a long ball by the Galaxy
in behind.
Speaker 7 (01:03:48):
Is your mind brings it down well to Peck top
of the eight and yard box cuts the ball and
knew who's gonna go.
Speaker 6 (01:03:54):
For the challenge, Pulk himself back. Galaxy have it with
Wine in the four that Louisville Men.
Speaker 7 (01:04:03):
Want to sell Young Player of the Year in twenty
twenty four Sounders faced him, of course in that MLS
Cup playoff run where the Sounders lost out at the
very end, he's a jovilch goal down in La and
the Galaxy went on and won that MLS Cup.
Speaker 8 (01:04:23):
Spere eighteen goals in that playoff run in the Galaxy.
Speaker 7 (01:04:27):
It's all came together for them with the perfect time.
But it's been hard picking. Since Ricky Poohs has mentioned
have been out since that conference final in twenty four
the return yet on the books for Ricky Poohs likely
have the entire season. It's off side by Kensal who
(01:04:47):
was high and wide on the far side left comes back,
but not quick enough. The Sounders will get us going
quickly trying to find in this final two and a
half minutes can they find a chance to challenge Marsinkowski
in the Galaxy goal. He's made some big saves over
the last couple of weeks since Greg Vanny has talked
(01:05:09):
about that.
Speaker 8 (01:05:10):
So far it really hasn't been tested. In the first
five minutes where.
Speaker 7 (01:05:14):
Milesovski had a chance one on one, he had one
chance that went over the top off side, and then
a chance a few minutes later, and.
Speaker 6 (01:05:22):
That's a challenge.
Speaker 5 (01:05:23):
Play your mind.
Speaker 3 (01:05:23):
That's a tough challenge.
Speaker 13 (01:05:24):
That's a yellow card by we're right back for the
Galaxy and Ariolo goes down in a heat to the ground,
a shoulder, your flailing elbow by the right back on Ariola.
Speaker 7 (01:05:36):
When he dropped his shoulder trying to beat Yamane. But
it's going to be a free kick for the Sounders in.
Speaker 6 (01:05:41):
A really good position, very similar to what it was.
Speaker 7 (01:05:46):
Earlier where it was Rosneck who ripped it in a
flat ball went to their post. It was easily handled
by the Galaxy at that particular point in time. But
this time another chance to deliver the ball in from
this angle of the angle of approach is gonna be
most likely somewhere whipped around the left shoulder of pencil
(01:06:09):
towards that far post. The question is whether it's Ferrera
or Reznak. Can you angle the cross low and hard
on target? So it forces the goalkeeper to do something,
and it gives a chance to the Sounders rushing on
and even the defenders can they get a nick and
it is gonna besn go short.
Speaker 6 (01:06:28):
Right off the training ground. That was a bit of
a mess.
Speaker 8 (01:06:30):
But let's say as Peter Kingston smashes it wide.
Speaker 7 (01:06:34):
It really could angle and just maybe overcomplicate things that
the Sounders didn't teed up very well. And it goes
high and why it's gonna be a goal kick most
likely get the last chance of this first half.
Speaker 8 (01:06:47):

Sports Radio ninety three point three K to your FM
this evening.
Speaker 7 (01:07:02):
Sounders trailing one golden nil against the Alley Galaxy here
at home. The ball gets Lawrence forward one well buying
Jackson Reagan sliced out of bounds and that might just
be about it. As we approached the final seconds of
the first half, I knew who gets him quickly, and
the referees got his whistle to his mouth already.
Speaker 6 (01:07:22):
I'm right on the dart of five minutes of added time.
Speaker 7 (01:07:25):
The referee puts the whistle to his mouth, wrings his
first half to an end. Disappointing first half really for
the Sounders. They started off well, had a couple of
good chances early on, and then the Galaxy started to
get a foothold in the game, and it was a
fantastic ball by Royce that sliced open the Sounder's back line,
and it was Peck who came off that right hand
(01:07:47):
side to tuck away his fourth.
Speaker 6 (01:07:49):
Goal in three games in the last three games.
Speaker 7 (01:07:52):
In the twenty third minute to put the Galaxy one.
D'll up going into the halftime break. We'll take your break,
Jackson Felts and Pete Fewing will be back to everything
down at halftime here at EQUC Pitch at Lumenfield.
Speaker 8 (01:08:04):
It's the soundest nail, the Galaxy one.
Speaker 1 (01:08:10):

(01:08:32):
Today's match is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the entertainment
capital of the Northwest. Go Sounders now, time for the
Sounders FC halftime show.
Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
Forty five minutes in.
Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
The books here from Lumenfield and the Sounders are down
right now to the La Galaxy by a score of
one to nothing. Twenty third minute is when the Galaxy
got there a goal one of the best assists you'll
ever see from markl Royce, the German legend, who slips
the ball on through two Sounder defenders and gets it
to Gabrielle Pick who's one on one with Andrew Thomas,
(01:09:06):
puts it in the back of the net, and that
is how La got their goal. Also of note here
in the first half, in the sixth minute, across from
Paul Ariola came into the box. Danny Musovski went up
and he collided his face with the head of another defender.
Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
He went into the locker room.
Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
He got looked at, and a few minutes later Albert
Rusnak came onto the field.
Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
Of course, Hasu's fur then went out right Danny and
Jordan Morris went up top.
Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
That being the loan change we saw due to injury
there in the first half. Pete, what else did you
see in that forty five minutes that you both liked
and didn't like?
Speaker 5 (01:09:44):
Well, the things that I like.
Speaker 4 (01:09:45):
I like that we're getting possession of the ball. That's good,
but I'd like a little more purpose with it. I
think we're good around in the middle, third wide, but
right down in the center of the box. You know,
when you think about how Danny Massovski scored goals, how
Jordan Morris scores goals, it's service into the box, them
making good runs and we haven't seen.
Speaker 5 (01:10:04):
Much of that.
Speaker 4 (01:10:05):
You're right, Royce had a really good ball, but boy
oh boy, he had a lot of time on the
ball right and so he really wasn't challenged so he
was able to pick pack.
Speaker 6 (01:10:14):
Out and he did.
Speaker 4 (01:10:16):
He had a perfectly way to pass. Peck did a
great job of finishing his chance. I think we've been
saying this a lot this year. Final pass, final pass.
So you've got to get back to how do we
get goals for Morris? How do we And obviously Masofsky's
out now, but you know in Ferrera again such a
good playmaker.
Speaker 5 (01:10:35):
We've got the right guys on the field. We've got
to make sure that final.
Speaker 4 (01:10:39):
Pass is better and a little bit more quality. We
really haven't challenged the games. We haven't really challenged their
goalkeeper at all. They've done a good job going down
the right things. I like that Peter Kingston has done
a pretty admirable job the ball that was the goal
that was scored. Came down sort of the middle right
hand side of the field, little left hand side of
(01:11:01):
the field right, and then Peter Kingston and Tino Lopez
have done a good job of defending in tandem because
they've got such dangerous players. Why that Peter needs a
little bit of help at times, anyone would. So I
think that's been good, but I think we have to
do a little better job final pass and maybe a
little less pass right. In other words, what we saw
(01:11:24):
LA's goal was about a forty yard entry ball to Peck.
Speaker 5 (01:11:28):
Who's split the defense. I'd like to see a few
more of those for Jordan Morris, especially with his pace.
Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
Yeah, it feels like when the Galaxy have overloaded that
left wing side on Peter Kingston right back, it's worked.
But when it's one on one with Kingston versus a Paintsil,
that's the matchup we were wondering going into this game,
and Peter's done well on that side.
Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
We just need Pete.
Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
As you mentioned, that offensive end, and it is that
final ball. You're absolutely right. What I'm wondering is are
we creating enough chances in the final third without that
final pass. Obviously, being there, but are we doing enough
in that offensive final third end.
Speaker 4 (01:12:04):
We've had a couple of good chances. They've had to
foul twice just outside the box, both times.
Speaker 5 (01:12:09):
On our on our winger Paul Areola.
Speaker 4 (01:12:11):
So I think we are creating some good chances, but
because of the foul, the service doesn't quite get where
it needs to go in the run of play. It
does eventually get in on a restart, but I think
we've got to have a little bit more earlier, a
little bit more quality on the surface and getting to
that near post and getting to that cutback. If we're
getting to the end line, near post, penalty spot, edge
(01:12:33):
of the box.
Speaker 5 (01:12:34):
We all have to get to those places.
Speaker 2 (01:12:35):
We'll take a break, we'll come back and tell you
who's on the bench for Seattle tonight that can help
them get back in this game.
Speaker 3 (01:12:40):
Currently it's one nothing Galaxy. I'll mention first that the
superior game meets Superior taste.
Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
Grab a mikel of Ultra, the Superior light beer as
you cheer your team on mikel of Ultra, official beer

Speaker 3 (01:12:57):
We'll continue the halftime show.
Speaker 2 (01:12:59):
It's one not La More next on Sports Radio ninety
three point three KJRFM.
Speaker 1 (01:13:05):
Now back to Seattle Sounders Sucker on Sports Radio ninety
three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 2 (01:13:12):
Welcome back to the halftime show here from Blumenfield. Right now,
the Sounders are down, La Galaxy are up. It's one
nothing store here.
Speaker 3 (01:13:19):

Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
We'll also mention that sonderss Soccer.
Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
Is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC.
All right, as we take a look at the Sounders
bench tonight, it includes Stephen Fry, Kim Key, he Koalani Kosa, Rienzi,
Cody Baker, Seba Gomez, Christian rolled On, Paul Rothrock and
Osase de Rosario. Of note, if you mentioned Albert Rusnak
already came onto the field there for Danny Mazowski in
(01:13:51):
the opening twelve minutes. But as we look down right now,
Pete we see Kilani Cosa Rienzi doing a very quick
warm up.
Speaker 3 (01:13:58):
It seems like he will be coming into this game soon.
Speaker 2 (01:14:01):
Also, Paul Rothmark just joined him a few seconds ago,
so it looks like Kilanie Pete will be coming on
very quickly to start this second half.
Speaker 3 (01:14:10):
And I would wonder for who and how that changes things.
Speaker 5 (01:14:12):
Yeah, it'll be interesting.
Speaker 4 (01:14:13):
And I would say that he has not been as
sharp as he'd been earlier in the season, so he
knows that and coaches have let him know that, and
so he's a spark kind of player. He can he
can do something down that right hand side, whether he
comes in for Peter Kingston, like for like, or whether
he goes pushes Peter a little bit further up the park.
(01:14:36):
And now we got two young guys with a lot
of pace on the right hand side.
Speaker 5 (01:14:40):
It'll be interesting to see where he goes.
Speaker 4 (01:14:42):
Peter Kingston's done a fine job, not really deserving of
being taken off the field. But as he's coming out,
he's in his sweats. Peter is a sweat top, so
I would assume there it is that's the sub is
the change Colonne for Peter Kingston.
Speaker 5 (01:14:56):
So again I thought Peter did pretty good.
Speaker 4 (01:14:58):
I don't glaring mistakes, didn't give the ball Awis gave
the ball away once. But it's a good forty five
minutes for him to get under his belt. So hopefully
Colonie will come in that right hand side. You're correct,
Paul Rothrock looks like he's warming up a little quicker
than the other subs who are just knocking the ball around.
Speaker 5 (01:15:18):
So and I like Paul is coming in if he
comes in on that left hand.
Speaker 4 (01:15:21):
Side for Areola. Now now, I feel like our wingers
are kind of a little bit quicker.
Speaker 5 (01:15:26):
A little sharper.
Speaker 2 (01:15:27):
Danny Jackson, Steve Zachwani and Brad Evans have the second half.
It's Sounders nothing La Galaxy won. Second half kicks off
next on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.
Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
Now back to Seattle Sounders Sucker on Sports Radio ninety
three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 6 (01:15:47):
Welcome back, sound as fans.
Speaker 7 (01:15:49):
I'm Danny Jackson here at EQC Pitchloumin Field with a
sound is already got us going on this second half.
Speaker 6 (01:15:55):
They were out. He had minutes before the Galaxy ready
to go.
Speaker 7 (01:16:00):
Typically, when a team comes out earlier, they begin the
head dryer treatment from their coach.
Speaker 6 (01:16:05):
I'm sure the Sounders will playing on the front foot somewhat.
Speaker 7 (01:16:08):
I would imagine the manner in which they came out
ready to go, sound attacking the south end for the
second half, and they're saying the sheet hit. The ball
gets whipped in by Ruznak towards Morris. It's gonna come
off Nelson, I believe. Referee just waiting. Yep, it's gonna
be a corner kick.
Speaker 6 (01:16:27):
There was some.
Speaker 7 (01:16:30):
Stare down from the assistant referee and the referee in
the middle of the pitch on the top of the
eighteen yard box, waiting for one of them to make
a decision. Eventually, referee made it. It's a corner kick.
An early cornerkick here for the second half.
Speaker 6 (01:16:44):
Sounders trailing one goal to aniligates.
Speaker 7 (01:16:46):
The La Galaxy here, but they've got a chance from
this corner cake, early corner cack.
Speaker 6 (01:16:51):
It's gonna be Farrera Witch sitting with.
Speaker 7 (01:16:53):
His right foot headed down after this wide I think
it was Ariolo's on the ground. He's just in front
of the goal four five yards out. Dead sensor couldn't
angler his header in the corner is a good win
by Lopez who won that header initially.
Speaker 8 (01:17:10):
From the corner kick. But it's going to be a
goal kick and the Sounders.
Speaker 7 (01:17:16):
Are ready to pounce on top of the eighteen yard
box if the Galaxy play it short and now Larson
Cowns is gonna push him up. But let's get Let's
give you this delta starting eleven for your sound is
coming out for this second half.
Speaker 6 (01:17:31):
Thomas and goal a change on the right, Kalani KOs Rienzi.
Speaker 7 (01:17:35):
On Peter Kinson off on that right back Lopez, Reagan
Knew who Snider, Brunelle alongside has signing Dotson and it's
Ferrera ruznek Ariola and Jordan Morris starts as your number nine.
Here comes Kolan, a good lot flipped between the legs
to evade the Galaxy players.
Speaker 6 (01:18:00):
Who has it attacking further the fields with the roll
that farst side to Areola. Russneck has it on top
of the box.
Speaker 7 (01:18:07):
Back to dots and white shirts sitting on top of
the h and yard box, two banks in front of
Sounders players. So Brunell, they'll give it go here it
comes to Lana. I just can't quite get there, came
off his shins. I believe it'll be a goal kick
and with that and Ferrera on the ground just took
a little lot.
Speaker 8 (01:18:26):
We're gonna throw it down to Steve Zach Marney, I said.
Speaker 11 (01:18:28):
Yeah, one thing to expect second half definitely is playing
at fast the Temple branch metter any stuff. We're not
happy just with the level of urgency. The temporary was
too comfortable. The game was playing that pedestrian pace for
most of that half and that really suited what the
Ducks were trying to do. With that in mind, the
Sounders have made a change on the right hand side,
so Jordan Morris has gone back to the right. Sue's
ferrer will play through the midle and the idea behind
(01:18:50):
that is between Kilani and Jordan Morris, he could really
force the balexy back on the left hand side when
it gets hey, SU's crosses to the bowl more central.
Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
Point's been doing his best work yep.
Speaker 6 (01:18:59):
Thanks of course. He's played there for a number of
years at Dallas, sometimes kind.
Speaker 7 (01:19:06):
Of a withdrawn nine, played number ten on his shirt,
but certainly a goal scorer his days in Dallas.
Speaker 6 (01:19:13):
As Brian Schmitzer joining his production.
Speaker 7 (01:19:17):
In conversation with us, we talked about Ferrera going from
a goal scorer who can create to a playmaker that
can score here in Seattle, and he wants to get
back on the score.
Speaker 8 (01:19:28):
She had a more regular basis.
Speaker 6 (01:19:30):
Started off well against the Earthquakes.
Speaker 7 (01:19:32):
Of course, that great goal gets a chance to lead
the line through the middle as the number nine position,
but also the number on the back of his shirt.
So let's get you in the Galaxy eleven coming out
for the second half. Marsakowski is in your goal, Yamani, Glasnes,
Park and Nelson, you back four, winder, Sirio Tommy, you're
(01:19:53):
midfield three and it's Heck Royce and pencil or you're
attacking three. Royce, float throughout that central area of the
field because it's brilliant pass.
Speaker 8 (01:20:04):
That's set up Peck, who's on the ball right now
to score.
Speaker 7 (01:20:08):
That's right in the face, but it's gonna be a
Ricochet's gonna fall well to Areola to hear that slap
through the microphone.
Speaker 8 (01:20:15):
I think it was Dotson that got it right in
the face.
Speaker 7 (01:20:18):
Of course, it was dotting out to go off that
first game against Colorado for a.
Speaker 8 (01:20:25):
Potential concussion. There's gonna be a corner kick for the Sounders.
Speaker 7 (01:20:28):
Brad, just getting you back up here after doing your
halftime duties down there.
Speaker 6 (01:20:33):
We'll get your thoughts.
Speaker 8 (01:20:34):
Just after this corner kick, he'll be Rosneck on the
left hand side.
Speaker 6 (01:20:38):
It's giving an inswinger with his right foot, one arm
up in.
Speaker 8 (01:20:40):
The air, all goes in right on top of the goal.
Speaker 6 (01:20:44):
Keep it easily collected.
Speaker 7 (01:20:45):
It happened a couple of times against San Jose as well,
some floated boards.
Speaker 8 (01:20:49):
They were collected easily by the goalkeeper. And it's gonna be.
Speaker 6 (01:20:52):
Coliine cleans things up, drops it back to Andrew Thomas.
Speaker 7 (01:20:54):
So Steve talked about pedestrian pace in the first half, pace, paste, pace,
try and pick it.
Speaker 6 (01:21:00):
Up in the second half, plenty on the right.
Speaker 8 (01:21:02):
Mars now playing out on this right with.
Speaker 6 (01:21:04):
Through the middle.
Speaker 9 (01:21:05):
Yeah, And I think Rereky's thoughts at halftime were much
the same. It was two pedestrian in the first half,
and we called it out here halfway through.
Speaker 6 (01:21:11):
It's two A to B B B two C.
Speaker 9 (01:21:13):
And he also wanted to see more runs in behind,
take chances, get him behind. We have to stretch this
team so that it opens up the middle of the
park for the guys. That can operate on the ball,
that are gonna pick out the passes, much like Royce
did for the Galaxy for that first goal.
Speaker 6 (01:21:27):
And the Sounders just have to up the tempo at
the end of the.
Speaker 9 (01:21:30):
Day and the draw will do good at this point
and then you push for the three points, but you
just have to get that first one.
Speaker 7 (01:21:37):
Sound is have it on this side there right is
they attapp the goal to our right the south end
for this second half that the usual and to attack
the bull gets flipped towards Pereira.
Speaker 8 (01:21:47):
It's gonna skip through to marsin Kowski. There's a couple
of maybe a yard off side, says.
Speaker 6 (01:21:52):
The referee flag went up. The referee's gonna keep this going.
Speaker 7 (01:21:56):
Pulls in the hands of the La goalkeeper, rolls down
to Hawk, the former New York City man came off
the off season, Sounce to start to stabilize the two
central players. With two newcomers playing along side each other today,
this will be a.
Speaker 9 (01:22:12):
Good battle between paint Sol and Kilanie, both same stature,
similar speed. It'll be a great test for Klonie tonight
to see if he can neutralize and get forward at
the end of the day. Right and That's what Steve
said is how can you neutralize Paintal on this left
hand sign.
Speaker 6 (01:22:28):
You have to you have to make him defend.
Speaker 9 (01:22:29):
The way you do that is by pushing up into
the attack and being a viable option in attack, not
just being a body of thing.
Speaker 7 (01:22:35):
What do you make of Peter Kings's first off obviously
got pulled a half time for Kilane.
Speaker 6 (01:22:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:22:40):
Look, I think for Peter he's still getting his feet
underneath him. That it's not his natural position and that's
going to be always difficult when you step on the field,
especially against a team like the Galaxy with the three
up front.
Speaker 7 (01:22:51):
That they have.
Speaker 9 (01:22:52):
You know, not good, not bad, just kind of filled
filled in the role. And you know, the Sounders need
a little bit of something else. If they were up
one nothing and I don't think he comes off the field,
but they need some more offensive prowess and it's going
to have to come from wide areas.
Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
Well.
Speaker 7 (01:23:09):
No, as we mentioned the first half, no more difficult
opponents to play against. Sly one of your first games
out there, as the ball goes in behind us to
float through to Marson Kowskis, he comes off his have
his six yard box, collects is just on his left
hand side of the eighteen is the La Galaxy goalkeeper.
Speaker 6 (01:23:26):
But that's the ball that Grecky's talking about.
Speaker 9 (01:23:29):
Yes, it doesn't come off for Jesus to get on
the end of it, but the next time Jesus makes
that run, the entire Galaxy defense is going to drop
and then it opens up that space for Snyder or
if Jordan wants to tuck in and receive a ball
to feet.
Speaker 6 (01:23:41):
It's a game of chess at the end of the day,
and the.
Speaker 9 (01:23:44):
Sounders just haven't quite figured out how they want to
play this one.
Speaker 7 (01:23:48):
Yeah, we often talk about taking shots and distance as well.
It drags out that back for same idea, I'll see
what the pats in behind. The next comes White tonight, Yeah, exactly,
So he comes Wine and now we've cut the Galaxy
shriding through the middle allous his left hand side could
stay by Kilanie. It's a bit more where you'd get
on that right hand side. What conventional right back and Kilanie.
(01:24:10):
It's the pencil and colonie standing near to each other,
very similar body types, short.
Speaker 8 (01:24:15):
Squat, strong, fast, powerful, all goes off.
Speaker 7 (01:24:19):
Pencil with that physical challenge from Klane just did enough
to get a nick off the Galaxy maunt. It's gonna
be a thrown for the Sounders deep on their right
hand side, down to our left here at Lumen Field
on Sports Radio ninety three point three, KIDJRM tonight, wherever
you're joining us, we appreciate you listening in. As Andrew
Thomas just about gets to worry of it you trying
(01:24:40):
to cut it with his left foot.
Speaker 6 (01:24:41):
With Boyce close the ball down, Gomez wasn't able to first.
Speaker 8 (01:24:47):
Lopez rolls it out to this near side, goes out
for a throw in.
Speaker 7 (01:24:52):
Galaxy have it. We'll see what tactics they bring to
the second half or they bring off the bench. How
they're cond have managed their time. Third away game in
a row for the Galaxy, all in a week. They
haven't been home since they went to Atlantis. They started
all the way on the East Coast. Atlanta got a
two to one win there on the back of two
(01:25:13):
Pet goals, and it was a three to one lost
midweek eas Sporting Kansas City, who have massively struggled this year.
Speaker 8 (01:25:20):
Peck got that consolation all the very end as a
wonderful goal.
Speaker 7 (01:25:25):
And then there's Peck today, who on the road again
for the Galaxy gets some off the mark here in
that first half.
Speaker 9 (01:25:34):
You'd have never known that this team got made by
the worst team in the league on Wednesday night. With
the way they're playing this evening, and I think they
every team rises to the occasion when they come here
to Seattle, and obviously the position of Seattle's standing right
now kind of fighting for that top western spot.
Speaker 6 (01:25:51):
It comes Arion Olibre goes in chest down to Ferrara.
He's able to get a shut up poor bouncing around.
Speaker 7 (01:25:58):
Stripe by row, snacking over the top, trying to angle
his body, trying to find that far corner with his
right foot. He's got a little bit wrong sliced off
the inside of his foot went hind Why go okay
remains sound is nil Galaxy one.
Speaker 9 (01:26:12):
Evans Yeah, And I think that the LA Galaxy have
showed that they can play in this league. Certainly, they
just have to figure out how to do it consistently.
But a good build up from the Sounders. This is
all from Jesus Ferrara dropping inside and almost playing that
false nine as well.
Speaker 6 (01:26:25):
The sounder is just unlucky. Rusnak.
Speaker 9 (01:26:27):
I think he can take a touch there Yamani's come
diving in on his right foot. Bring it back to
your left. You got three Sounders waiting inside the box. Yes,
things happen a lot faster.
Speaker 6 (01:26:35):
Than we can see. You could see Jesus and Paintsill
having some words after that one.
Speaker 7 (01:26:41):
You know what, maybe it's pain start on Kilawney, maybe
a little nick on him.
Speaker 6 (01:26:48):
Sure we play here they he's just yelling at it
to get up and look when you're losing one.
Speaker 9 (01:26:54):
Nothing anything you can do to get yourself fired up
at a game. Sometimes it's subconscious. Sometimes you're actually thinking,
how do I get how do I unlevel my game
in this one? And then find a little bit more intensity.
You start to pick fights on the field just to
rile yourself up a little bit up. For sure, Sounders
needs some of that. Jordan right now, drop a shoulder
and the Nelson fallum drop him to the ground.
Speaker 6 (01:27:15):
Here.
Speaker 7 (01:27:15):
If Jordan wins the ball deep on his right hand side,
ball goes into snide a little quick turn away from
Nelson back. It goes to dots and has recovered well
after getting smashed in the faces a couple of minutes ago.
He who has it left Channel Ariolo available gets it
comes off that left channel. Now does Ariola drops the
ball with his right foot to Dots.
Speaker 6 (01:27:34):
And nothing forward.
Speaker 7 (01:27:35):
Has to go back to Jackson, egg and good pressure
from Royce, but Jackson is able to spray the balls
this near side. Colina brings it down well, the ball
down the line. Why Lopez keeps it going? Does Brunell
down to Jordan Morris playing on this right hand side
the second.
Speaker 6 (01:27:50):
Half look kidd and go is able to quite connect
with it.
Speaker 8 (01:27:53):
Does Brunell. Hark wasn't able to keep with.
Speaker 7 (01:27:56):
Morris as he spun around into that right channel, but
the past didn't connect, goes out for a galaxy throat.
Speaker 9 (01:28:01):
You certainly see the tempo of the Sounders play start
to increase. Snyder Brunell popping up in more areas of
the field in an advanced position, and at this point
I think Dotson saying ghosts Snyder the higher up the field,
start to create with these guys and see if you
can unlock a pass, especially as these subs start to
warm up.
Speaker 6 (01:28:19):
It'll be curtain calls.
Speaker 14 (01:28:20):
For a couple of people getting off side of Ferrera
and I think given by the assistant referee so far
the lowest but galaxy habit with Sirio strikes the ball
down the line, just finds Tommy, who connects with Nelson
Well who flicks it away from us.
Speaker 7 (01:28:34):
Next clips it down the line. This near sight good
win by Jackson, no fould given by the referee. Flick
by Dotson, Anario cleans things up, drops it back to
Lopez Well sound as FC Soker is presented by a
provident Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC as they
trail one nil to the galaxy. Here at lumin Field
(01:28:55):
score of date is presented by Nicolobe Ultra Sound is
having right hand side eating yars and the airline's cologning
right channel just tucked in slightly from this near sideliners.
Lopez drops his shoulder, nothing forward, but keeps on going
and Royce just picks his pocket. Waits for this moment
to pull the ball out from underneath Lopez, but gives
(01:29:16):
it away and then the Sounders will come again.
Speaker 6 (01:29:20):
The sound is still in possession.
Speaker 8 (01:29:23):
Have the ball top of boxes Perrara sowards the backstick.
Speaker 6 (01:29:26):
There's area area.
Speaker 7 (01:29:27):
Oh, it's a brilliant saved by marson Kowski. Ariola was
incredibly brave. He saw the goalkeeper come flying. Now he's
still got his head on the ball. That Ariola didn't
shirk away from that challenge whatsoever.
Speaker 8 (01:29:40):
But it was a flying right arm.
Speaker 6 (01:29:42):
I believe Marson Kossi gets the block.
Speaker 8 (01:29:45):
It's gonna be a corner kick.
Speaker 6 (01:29:46):
Yeah, And that is brilliant.
Speaker 9 (01:29:47):
You got at this point you have to put your
body on the line. These are probably the last moments
for Ariola on the field.
Speaker 6 (01:29:52):
And it's a no look past here.
Speaker 8 (01:29:54):
It comes ball whipped in towards a near stick away
from your MANI.
Speaker 9 (01:29:57):
It's just brilliant from Jesus and Ariola in the right
spot and Marsinkowski just throws his body, tries to be
a big window.
Speaker 6 (01:30:06):
It just gets unlucky. You see Paul just shaking his
head there. What do I have to do to put
the ball in the back?
Speaker 8 (01:30:10):
And Paul goes in and headed up by plesners. He's
a bit of a weak punch this time by master Cows.
Speaker 7 (01:30:16):
Get just enough and there's Kolaney comes clashing into pencil.
Speaker 8 (01:30:20):
It's gonna feel that a little bit.
Speaker 7 (01:30:21):
His pencil still on the deck, but flying forward his
Tommy as he flips the ball around the corner.
Speaker 6 (01:30:26):
Three verses two. Here all down the line.
Speaker 7 (01:30:28):
Towards Royce around the corner, he goes and hits the
side netting.
Speaker 6 (01:30:33):
It was a tough angle for Royce. He went around
Andrew Thomas.
Speaker 7 (01:30:39):
And he was not able to hit the target. Goes
into the side netting. Gonna be a gold kick and
pencils on the deck. He here the booze from the crowd.
This is gonna be a bit more of as you
mentioned it straight away that.
Speaker 6 (01:30:52):
The match up between Coloney and Pencil now is gonna
be much different.
Speaker 8 (01:30:56):
Proposition of Pencil and what.
Speaker 6 (01:30:57):
A build up from the galaxy. I mean that's end
to end football right there.
Speaker 9 (01:31:00):
Punch from the goalkeeper sends it out and then it's
Eric Tommy with some fancy footwork to just get around
Paul Ariola. There slips in Gabrielle Peck and then another
underlapping run from Marco. Royce goes around the keeper and
Andrew Thomas who just can't find the back of the neat.
Speaker 7 (01:31:21):
Well, we got some changes and with those changes we're
gonna throw it down to Steve z that quarney.
Speaker 11 (01:31:24):
Yeah, if I can make sense of this, and I'm surprised,
I'm gonna say this. I think Christian Rodun is going
to centerment. He's gonna player alongside Jackson Reagan at center back.
Welsey stretched through the culture staff and slotted right where
his brother's been played, so it's probably gonna be have
a bit more freedom to try and join the attack.
Will make the attack once, got as many guys who
are good on the ball on the pitch at once
(01:31:46):
and the rest of the two subs straight swaps rough
front for Ariola comes right into that position there and
then osase up top for his suits forever. He'll play
as the nine. Jordan stays on the right, but Christian
road Done gets the armband and gets center back.
Speaker 6 (01:31:58):
Yeah, thanks Steve.
Speaker 8 (01:31:59):
Yeah, I think we saw about a month or two ago.
Speaker 7 (01:32:02):
It's not at the end of one of the games
here at home where Moldon did go back to center back.
It is gonna be straight in there, so there's not
huge size and height of there for Galaxy. Of course,
Royce playing is a false nine, so that should suit
rolled on quite well. It comes rough right now, it's
been busy off that left hand side.
Speaker 8 (01:32:21):
Dunell has it.
Speaker 7 (01:32:22):
Clini makes a run inside and Pencil sees the danger
tracks a run well, clone try to nip inside, but
pencil does body between ball and.
Speaker 6 (01:32:31):
Player lets go of the endline goal kick.
Speaker 9 (01:32:32):
I think the sounders coaching sound is just anticipating your
sounders to be completely in La Galaxy's defensive.
Speaker 6 (01:32:38):
Third for the remainder of this half. So you throw
on Christian Roldan.
Speaker 9 (01:32:41):
He's experienced enough in his defending and smart enough athletic enough, certainly,
but I think to seeves points it's his passing capability
as well to join the attack and be that extra
number on set pieces especially. He's been the most vital
player for us on set pieces this entire year.
Speaker 7 (01:32:57):
All over the top to the right inside of wind
is getting involved from that midfield spot high on their
right hand side far side. For l Amani supports Rothrock
tracking Wine to get a little nudge and then he
gets a pushback. Does roth Rocker's horse is gonna get involved?
He's gonna given the fuse the light coming off this bench.
(01:33:19):
As roth Rock He's probably seen so much enough sideline
and heard the comments coming I'm sure from coaching staff
and the frustration of that first half, but it sounds
it looks a different team in the second half more bite.
Speaker 6 (01:33:33):
Now the kline showcases that on that right hand side, and.
Speaker 7 (01:33:41):
We'll see if the Galaxy continue to play those kind
of bops in the midfield that would so well on
that first half. But it comes packed down the line,
receives it inside, comes off that left foot. You can't
give it too much space. Ball comes out to pencil
over black and run by Tommy. He gets the ball
towards the end line inside the sixth off the post. Oh,
(01:34:02):
it was brilliant by Peck. Off the post, the sound
and retrieve it with Walthrock far south. He tries to
wriggle free and it's gonna be a throwing false soide
for the Galaxy. All right, that is something else from
Gabrielle Peck.
Speaker 9 (01:34:15):
A slip ball and just the creativity to hit a
back heel and it just comes off the post. Every
other Galaxy player think that that ball's going in the
back of the net. But well worked once again from
the Galaxy. And yes it's the Marco Royce show. But
we have to give credit to Eric Tommy. He has
been all over the field inside his own eighteen and
then joining the attack on every occasion for the La Galaxy.
(01:34:38):
And he was classed for Sporting Kansas City for a
number of years and to find his way onto this
team and be a part of this attack, I'm sure
he's finding some joy on a regular basis.
Speaker 7 (01:34:49):
What it looks like three changes for the Galaxy from
that Royce off who's dictated all sorts of play, Santa
Bria is gonna come on, say more of a kind
of an anchored.
Speaker 8 (01:34:59):
Differ nsive midfield player. That's gonna come on.
Speaker 7 (01:35:03):
Quavers is gonna come on for your many like for
light switched there and then carbon Miller.
Speaker 8 (01:35:10):
It's gonna someone will see where he slots.
Speaker 7 (01:35:12):
Looks like he's gonna play high and left pencils gonna
play through the middle. So peck pencil still in that
attacking three pencil that plane through the middle.
Speaker 6 (01:35:23):
Off that left, you have a way by the Galaxy.
So three changes for the Sounder is a minute or
so ago. Three changes to the Galaxy.
Speaker 7 (01:35:33):
Sounds more offensive minded, of course, as they trail one
golden nill here with about twenty five minutes to go
here at lumen Field, I'm gonna think that the Galaxy was.
Speaker 6 (01:35:46):
A bit more defensive minds.
Speaker 8 (01:35:48):
They lead one nil third game, on the road this
week because the ball gets flicked down the line, it's gonna.
Speaker 7 (01:35:54):
Scoo through on this fast lip grass surface that's primed
and ready to go for the World Cup.
Speaker 9 (01:36:00):
That's three or four now from Snyder Brunel. He puts
himself in all the right positions, and a youngster like that,
you have to give him credit when credits due. But
Schmitzer and the coaching staff are gonna need to ask
more out of him when it comes to his passing
range and how he's gonna get involved in the attack,
whether it's through passing or.
Speaker 6 (01:36:16):
He's gonna get on the end of things. And he's
got it.
Speaker 9 (01:36:18):
He's got to figure that out, whether it's in training
or on the field. But those passes can't go by
the wayside.
Speaker 7 (01:36:24):
It comes Pence using that parents feed through the middle,
trapped by Christian roll done.
Speaker 6 (01:36:28):
Peck was making a run in the middle and Jackson
Regan was on the wrong.
Speaker 7 (01:36:31):
Side again, couldn't keep up with the pace of Peck
and it was a deflected cross eventually find the hands
of Andrew Thomas, but the moving off Peck up that
right side. He's a willing run and love doubt about it.
And now you've got the power and pace of.
Speaker 6 (01:36:46):
Pencil that.
Speaker 8 (01:36:48):
He's gonna make Money feel comfortable.
Speaker 6 (01:36:50):
Full rolled on and Reagan.
Speaker 7 (01:36:54):
All flip forward by Dots and here comes a big
frame of Zazi trapped by heart good athletic duo there
and those two players, but Asa has a Colecti ball
maintains possession. To Dotson, it's his start alongside Brunel. Today
is Christian Roldan started the bench. He's now on the
(01:37:15):
field playing center back alongside Jackson Reagan as the Sounders
chased this game sixty seventh minute, one nail Galaxy, long
time rival. Of course, the team's very different now than
it once was with lions of Beckham and Keenan Donovan
and what was Ibrikhamovich just a few years ago.
Speaker 6 (01:37:40):
But they're trying to find their identity now.
Speaker 7 (01:37:42):
And yes, they lost midweek to Sporting Kansas City, bottom
of the league and Greg Vanny the head coach, So
this will be a good test for them to see
how they respond.
Speaker 6 (01:37:53):
Respond. They've done the responded really yeah, they really have
really well. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:37:58):
I Vanni said that, you know, this would be a
quick way call from some of the positivity they had
going into midweek and.
Speaker 6 (01:38:03):
That was a bit of a disappointment forward him.
Speaker 9 (01:38:05):
I think you know a few years ago Sporting Kansas
City had won a game, I don't think, and then
they came.
Speaker 6 (01:38:11):
Into the Sounders and beating the Sounders.
Speaker 9 (01:38:13):
And yes, teams go on runs, but it says a
lot about the group for the Galaxy to continue to
push forward. And you already see like the handshacks of them,
what a brutal year they had last year. And at
any point you would think that Paint Soil and pect
being two big players, oftentimes those personalities don't end up
working out together.
Speaker 7 (01:38:30):
Rough throck down the left Han side is on side
right now tries to find a zaze and that was
a disappointing cross plesand has read that very well. The
former MLS Defender of the Year from Philadelphia and off
season add to this squad for the Galaxies, they start
to rebuild somewhat. Greg Fanny, of course and Bryan Schmidtz
(01:38:51):
had a long history coaching hats each other. Four started
way back in twenty sixteen when Barn came on at
the Helm for the Sounders and the Sounds from Balts
of of the Western Conference all the way to MLS
Cup champions where they played Greg Vanny and his Toronto
team at the time in Toronto.
Speaker 9 (01:39:15):
I think the big surprise last year was the season
that the Galaxy had, but they really stuck with Greg
Vanny ended up signing I think a five year to
you after that, but he hasn't really been given freedom
to sign whoever he wants in typical Galaxy fashion, they've
kind of gotten away from it. And Marco Royce, you
would think he'd be on millions of dollars, but he's not.
In fact, he's doing the work under the radar, which
(01:39:38):
most likely you'd think signed. That lines the Galaxy up
for a big summer signing, sticking with their LA traditions. Well,
we were talking a few weeks ago.
Speaker 7 (01:39:51):
There's no better marketplace for playing in the US and
the World Cup, of course, and you're going to have
a number of players playing on squads all across the
US becaus Azaz strikes it just wide, did a good
turn top of the box, just shrugged off the big
frame of Glesners and turn struck it white go kick
and a Zaz's feeling after coming off that winning goal
(01:40:13):
in midweek.
Speaker 9 (01:40:14):
Yeah, it's a great turn here a good build up
from the sounder's entry ball first time ball back and
then it's Christian rolled On plays the ball wide and
just gets skipped inside and able to turn and get
a shot off on frame much like hay sus Where's
Picky actually mishit it.
Speaker 6 (01:40:29):
In the game on Wednesday night and the ball kind
of trails off.
Speaker 9 (01:40:32):
Yes he hits it with his laces, but a little
bit off balance, so the ball goes from left to right,
just doesn't find the target.
Speaker 7 (01:40:39):
We'll launch full by ball don headed banged by the
back line of the galaxy. It picks up by the
sound is now far side the left with Brusn coming
off that left hand side of his rowing foot. Rolls
at four yards its dots and little flick around the
corner by Brunelle giving it away by his eyes and
not a good.
Speaker 6 (01:40:53):
Place to do it.
Speaker 7 (01:40:54):
You have four white shirts moving forward. It comes pack
one B one verse Jackson Reagan inside the eight and yard.
Speaker 6 (01:41:03):
They'll flick around the corner.
Speaker 7 (01:41:04):
Good track and by roll Dand does a great job,
calls it away but won well by Quavers and gets
it back to pencil twenty yards from the n line.
And now the Galaxy will slow things down with Peck.
They lead one goal Ganil here inside the final twenty
minutes at the QC Pitch, Lumen Field. You're on Sports
(01:41:24):
Radio ninety three point three KGr FM. Tonight Sounders finished
this three game homestand that started a week ago with
a one to one tie against California opponent San Diego.
And then there was another California opponent, Northern California in
midweek in San Jose, who came in as the number
(01:41:46):
one team in the Western Conference, best start of their
MLS history, and they went down three goals to two
against the Sounders, who got that winning goal in the
eighty ninth minute off of Jase.
Speaker 8 (01:41:57):
And then a bit more of inspiration now as they
go four.
Speaker 7 (01:41:59):
Left hand side with Rothrock good strong challenge by the
back line of the Galaxy and at going to scoop
the ball out to Peck, who plays a brilliant ball
from that far side to this near side, one touch
with his left foot. Nelson stepping forward. The number fourteen
been solid tonight. Has John Nelson You went to Chapel
(01:42:20):
Hill player, that's Nelson. I'm going he's starting to establish
himself as Ode was the young.
Speaker 6 (01:42:29):
South American left back.
Speaker 7 (01:42:31):
We've had a number of appearances under his belt and
getting some good performances in, but Nelson now continues to
put some really solid performances and down my left now
he's going to chase this one down against Kilaney, who
has been lively since his introduction in that right back
a halftime, but it's gonna come off from Kilaney and
go out for a throwing on his near side with Nelson.
Speaker 9 (01:42:54):
I don't think the back four from the Galaxy have
put a foot wrong tonight. They've pretty much had the
Sounder's number the first seventy minutes of this one, and
so for the Sounders, I think it's been about playing
through the middle. Obviously, at the start of this game,
Danny Mussowski with two chances all through the middle, and
then the tempo kind of died off of it and
the Galaxy were happy to sit back absorbed.
Speaker 6 (01:43:15):
And then they got into their own rhythm in this one.
Speaker 7 (01:43:18):
It comes dots and down the right side, flicks it
towards Killarney five yards from the end line. Good tracking
back by Miller, hooks it down the line as Boldon
goes to the deck.
Speaker 6 (01:43:28):
Good quick feet by Jackson flicks.
Speaker 8 (01:43:30):
At his left foot, so knew who had a chance
to play it out to the left hand.
Speaker 7 (01:43:33):
Side, go a little bit, caught up, rigles free and
then gives up wins the foulers.
Speaker 8 (01:43:38):
Knew who got un fortunate then that jail free cut,
but he wins.
Speaker 6 (01:43:43):
It goes down.
Speaker 9 (01:43:46):
But I think to our point is it's gonna come
from wide areas. Now the Galaxy are up one nothing,
They're gonna keep everything away from the middle part of
the field and make like life difficult, much like San
Jose tried to do on Wednesday night.
Speaker 6 (01:43:57):
And it comes from wide play.
Speaker 9 (01:43:58):
But you have to hear kilany have to your heels
on this line so you give yourself a best chance
of receiving that ball, taking a touch and whipping it
in behind bro We've.
Speaker 7 (01:44:07):
Got two big players in the central areas of that
back and forth, so that the ball's gonna have to
be whipped in with some pace low, maybe in that
gap between goalkeeper back line to get the sound as
the best chance to go for you got zas there's
a big target.
Speaker 6 (01:44:22):
Of course, I think here at Rusnak is gonna have
a go and the way that he hits the ball.
Speaker 9 (01:44:27):
I think you'll hit it inside foot, no spin and
just try to make Marton CALSI think the ball's going
one way.
Speaker 7 (01:44:33):
Yeah, there comes another, so off this slick surface. Can
he get a bouncer in front and strikes. Oh, it's
a good say by the goalkeeper. Toy's right, full stretch.
Ball back in by Roth Rocket and here come the
Galaxy with Peck cross half waylight. Pencil's making a bursting
run through the middle. Down the line it goes, and
(01:44:54):
that was poor ball by Peck. In the end, the
kid pencil sprinted eighty yards to keep up with his
fellow winger and they was straight into the hands of
Andrew Thomas and the sound has come away with it.
Speaker 6 (01:45:07):
It's so great for you to do. From Bruce Snack
steps up just on the inside of the wall, Martian Colsi,
it's a great safe to come all the way to
his right full stretch and bat that ball away and
then Galaxy do what the Galaxy do. It's Gabrielle Peck
and paint soil. It's really incredible their burst of speed and.
Speaker 9 (01:45:27):
Their athleticism to make an athletic player on the Saunder's look.
Speaker 6 (01:45:32):
I mean relatively slow at times, yell they are there.
Speaker 7 (01:45:35):
He plays fast with the ball as well. Without the ball,
which is a real skill or flipped by Brunelle, is
able to connect to. It's just a pull pass into Brunelle,
force it to stretch. Couldn't angle the pass to Colonney.
And then it's gonna be another change for the sound
is they're just gonna confer. Think it's Brunelle off gomez on.
(01:46:05):
So mess gets his shut because he pushes himself up
the field. It's gonna see how this kind of larm
slevel first Night drops alongside Dotson. That's maybe personism sitting
is a sole holding player. It's gonna be Gomez playing
(01:46:27):
alongside Rosneck.
Speaker 6 (01:46:28):
And maybe two limits hims.
Speaker 7 (01:46:30):
Maybe wait setting it right now, I'll let Bred provide
his more expert opinion.
Speaker 9 (01:46:36):
Well, Albert has to join the attack at some point,
and so Dotson can do the job. But you already
saw in the previous play where Christian Woldon vacates. That's
part It becomes two B two and Hainzel and Gabrielle
peck up top by themselves against new Hu and Jackson.
So yes, you need offensive prowess, but this team at
any point is gonna catch it if they can't.
Speaker 7 (01:46:57):
Flick around the corner by the galls and it picks
up by us neck. That comes Senta Prio Marris on
its heels. Just too easy for Hark. He stepped into
the brilliant job crossing the halfway line. As as it
comes back brilliantly.
Speaker 6 (01:47:10):
Defends it well, gets smothered by Hark and good play
by both players.
Speaker 9 (01:47:15):
S Schmenzill love that one doing the dirty work as
a forward. You'll find your way onto the field if
you keep putting in those efforts. And now get back
up the field. Put yourself in a great position, get
in between those center backs, figure out a way to
put the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:47:30):
In the back of the nead.
Speaker 7 (01:47:33):
They come to Sounders with rossneck center just puts his
foot in the ball and rolls it out to his
right side.
Speaker 8 (01:47:39):
All gets whipped chains and decent delivery.
Speaker 7 (01:47:41):
But zazinis to get in front of that center back
and does this but cleared by the palantcy and then Henson's.
Speaker 6 (01:47:47):
Looks up on the top of Dotson, who wins that.
Speaker 7 (01:47:49):
Foul right of censer about forty yards from the end line.
So there's a chance for the sounders, so they go
click theaters they do. Ros Now exits for near side
to roll down, a sort of whip it in good
block out by Santa Bria, but only.
Speaker 6 (01:48:06):
To Jackson Reger.
Speaker 8 (01:48:09):
It builds with news asking for Rothrock's come.
Speaker 6 (01:48:12):
And support on the left hand side, but Rothrock's.
Speaker 8 (01:48:15):
Taking high and wide. We saw Harry Olap tucking.
Speaker 6 (01:48:18):
A lot in their first half and narrow the field.
Roth Rock in the opposite.
Speaker 7 (01:48:22):
Stayed wide available to the right for Rollin has to
go back addle to it. Jackson Reagan strikes forward. Rothrock
now has it fast out and left with some time
and space knows that by quay as confectation de simple
towards the.
Speaker 6 (01:48:36):
Backstick, free headed for the galaxy.
Speaker 7 (01:48:39):
Clear their lives, but towards rolled on in a way
by Nelson's calmness that foot man.
Speaker 9 (01:48:44):
The service has to be there. The previous one, the
runner wasn't there. The service was this one. The service
wasn't there and the runners were willing for Paul. Rothrock
been pretty quiet the past past couple of games, not
able to find the same rhythm and confidence and taking
guys on.
Speaker 6 (01:49:02):
With that sneaky back post. There's always going to be
an opportunity all.
Speaker 7 (01:49:06):
Thrown in by Klan and ball finds m Is able
to drop his body win.
Speaker 8 (01:49:11):
The ball just about Nobis Syria wins the ball.
Speaker 7 (01:49:15):
Well gets the pencil just just clear his lines, but
connects that first pass and then a pencil this time
give us the ball away and Peck made a run
in behind.
Speaker 6 (01:49:26):
You become this sound. The far side the left is
is Rothrop whoever's.
Speaker 7 (01:49:29):
Making a running behind the minutive figure of Sebassian Gomez
drops the ball Dotson to Jackson Reagan Well. Tonight's match
is presented by Michelo Ultra The Superior Game Makes, Superior Taste.
Grab a Mikelo Ultra the Superior Light Beer as you

(01:49:52):
The cross from Gomez comes off the backside. Playing is
Andrew Thomas as your sweeper keeper. Thomas Noyer a brilliant
ball to We're passing around and it was Zad.
Speaker 6 (01:50:03):
He just didn't really handle it well at all.
Speaker 7 (01:50:06):
Good play by Thomas came out of his goal. Jackson
Reagan was to be done for pace. I think by
pencil as well.
Speaker 9 (01:50:14):
Done from Pandon Thomas reading the play, staying engaged in
the game. That's all you can ask of your goalkeeper
keeping the Summers in this one, because like you said,
painTill was gone.
Speaker 6 (01:50:22):
There was no way that Jackson.
Speaker 9 (01:50:23):
Reagan's gonna be able to keep up with that one.
Speaker 7 (01:50:29):
We'll drop fast, sorry, the right with Winder, who's been
quietly efficient in the middle of the field. You haven't
seen him venture too far forward if he did in
games past. That's a great switch of play by the Galaxy.
It comes Nelson left out.
Speaker 15 (01:50:44):
Side, challenged by Jordan Morris, goes to the park and
Sam to push up that line to get here in
the final ten minutes here at Luminfield, Sounds get a
bit of magic from somewhere.
Speaker 8 (01:51:00):
Yes, they've got higher.
Speaker 7 (01:51:02):
Possession of fifty five percent, which Bryan Sptzer has always
demanded of his team, But it's a possession with a purpose.
Anything they're thrown a Marcy kows is gonna get out
the gold he's dealt with. The Sounder is now in
a reliance and these players as rough Rock makes a
running behind, who doesn't give it a little bit of
(01:51:22):
frustration from roth Rock at a lot of frustrations creeping
into the Sounders roll down. He runs forward, cuts the
water to Morris, out to the right side to Kilaney,
back towards rolled down, the slows down a little on
his right hand side, trying to find a better angle
for a cross as Kilane's. He comes back on his
left hand side, so Dotson four shirts from the Sounders
(01:51:46):
inside the box, headed down as if for a corner kick.
He does get a corner kick off the back of
where Versta's rough Rock. That's going to be a corner
gick fast side. The sound has left.
Speaker 6 (01:51:56):
The centers have the big bodies.
Speaker 9 (01:51:57):
Now you got Asase Jordan and of course Jackson Reagan
coming into the box.
Speaker 6 (01:52:03):
He still must must be aware of paintal on this
one sitting on.
Speaker 9 (01:52:06):
Top of him of his own eighteen, just waiting for
the opportunity for this one to be cleared out for
Paul Rothrock's gotta get in the box. More numbers in
this box for the Sounders with all ten players back
for the galaxy.
Speaker 6 (01:52:20):
Yeah, rolled on. Of course he scored three goals.
Speaker 7 (01:52:23):
He feels it from these corner kicks now of course
as Christian and he's like right in the six yard
bucks bull gets floted in.
Speaker 6 (01:52:29):
Towards Christian little Header who does actually.
Speaker 7 (01:52:32):
Play a Galaxy player, and I think he's gonna listen
for a spit second he says it's a goal kick.
Speaker 6 (01:52:40):
The question is why is he looking at the linesman
to his left that's sitting on halfway.
Speaker 7 (01:52:44):
When the referee is fifteen yards or ten years away,
and this is a referee, he's fifty five yards away,
So change for uh get the Galaxy. Pencil is gonna
go off and less Invento is gonna come on side
from Boat to Fogo. Of course, Sunder's played in Club
World Cup last year. For the Brazilian player has been
(01:53:09):
out injured for a good chunk of the season so far.
Came back in the last game, so he's gonna lead
the line through the middle because Pencil was doing.
Speaker 6 (01:53:20):
So well the last ten minutes or so when he
made that shift.
Speaker 7 (01:53:24):
Got left, So Sander's not gonna have as much paced
after deal with with ons of Pencil off. Now they're
gonna keep pushing. It comes go as every touch clips
inside comes across.
Speaker 8 (01:53:37):
Winter has a foul by a referee, but nothing given.
Speaker 7 (01:53:41):
It's a little bit patrible of his avoidance of the
foul was Gomez, but Samer's had it on his nearside,
throwing quickly to Jackson.
Speaker 6 (01:53:49):
Ray Gonna got some time in space, as does Hassani
got some.
Speaker 7 (01:53:54):
He strides forward and Floy's plays it for their side
to Pristian rolled on strong Banker for for guys. He
look given go by azaze Is Rothrocker let it go.
They spun around the corner, couldn't quite connect, so it
was good defending by the Galax. He read the play, Well,
it's gonna be Kolanie. Is he going to launch it
(01:54:17):
in along again from this near side? The right Sounders
attacking the sounth end the goal to our right and
they say the sheet hit this evening. Boll goes short
to Christian Roldan rolls the ball in well to Gomez,
tries to turn.
Speaker 6 (01:54:30):
Good defending by Nelson, but it comes off the left
back for a corner kick.
Speaker 9 (01:54:36):
Well, I think Klanie has the opportunity there to slip
that ball as low as he can into Christian hold On,
so he takes a soft touch in her. You're seeing
Jordan Morris screaming at Kilani for him to playing that
ball so we can whip it in first time Sounders
do well to end up with a corner.
Speaker 7 (01:54:50):
Drasnak whips it into his right foot ball bounce around
top of the boxes. Gomez tries to find the right
corner and just floats it too far, wide and high
to be a goal kick for the Galaxies. We get
here just inside the final six minutes at Luminfield.
Speaker 6 (01:55:08):
Just mishit it there.
Speaker 9 (01:55:10):
I think he had a great opportunity to take another
touch to his right and wrap it around that far post.
But what I love about this play is watching the
replay is Jackson Reagan's willingness to go.
Speaker 6 (01:55:18):
Up and attack the ball, and what's he do.
Speaker 9 (01:55:20):
He takes out three Galaxy defenders with him, and that
frees up space for Lopez at the back post.
Speaker 6 (01:55:27):
He's an opportunity to whip his.
Speaker 7 (01:55:29):
Foot around with the long pace, kind of floats in
that far corner. I'm a little poke away by Siio
challenged my go man. He's been lively since coming on
so far and also looking for options forward. Takes the
safe bet, goes forward down the line, long balls the
pockets picked by Santa Bria On Dotson tries to go
(01:55:50):
around Colina through the legs of Klaniegos and Dotson recovers
well finds Christian rolled on.
Speaker 6 (01:55:56):
It's just clips towards Dots on his near side.
Speaker 7 (01:55:58):
The right sounds on Avid's connect finds the foot of
the Galaxy left back Nelson.
Speaker 6 (01:56:04):
To Surrea.
Speaker 7 (01:56:07):
Galaxy half possession of the balls. Sounds he to step up.
We're inside the final five minutes now, Galaxy needing one
goal to nail. The scad is presented by michelob Ultra.
Sounders go with Rothrock flicks it around the corner too
new who goes down theatrically that wins the foul.
Speaker 6 (01:56:25):
Now makes a running behind and Rosneck's gonna slow things down.
Speaker 9 (01:56:29):
One knew who made the running behind when no one
was standing over the ball and help off sides anyways,
So you got to keep the defenders.
Speaker 6 (01:56:37):
On as they drop with you. All right, Well, the
big one up. We've got a zase. We've got Jackson.
Speaker 7 (01:56:43):
Reagan, as Brad mentioned, attacked that ball so well from
that corner kick for some moment or so ago. Now
it's a freaking left hand side flicked in by Brosnan,
headed up in the air by Gots and master Coowsei
comes up flaps at it.
Speaker 6 (01:56:54):
It gets some thing on it.
Speaker 7 (01:56:56):
His right arm almost fell to the ground, or should
we run into the player almost on his knees when
he made that punch in orthodox to say the least, But.
Speaker 6 (01:57:07):
You know, just is to move the ball quickly. It does.
The ball down, it's.
Speaker 7 (01:57:11):
Gonna clip it from center to the far side the
left with Rothlp lost some time and space.
Speaker 6 (01:57:15):
Sound is knocking on the door.
Speaker 7 (01:57:16):
Ball goes in a little flat short easily cleared by
the galaxy. Well, the rave Greener back at home at
the Emerald Queen Casino pitch a lumin field to take
on La gap See on.
Speaker 8 (01:57:28):
Saturday, May sixteenth.
Speaker 16 (01:57:29):
That's an old one. We'll start that one again. Sometimes
you read these things. You'll read anything on the prompter.
I know exactly well, that's wrong. We'll start again.
Speaker 3 (01:57:41):
I can tell you the.
Speaker 7 (01:57:42):
Next game is next Sunday night against LAFC. It's the
final game of this first part of the season. I
mean Sounder's habit strip by color Sara Dotson goes up.
Speaker 6 (01:57:56):
And it goes high and wide. He's on the ground
to a little bit of a not come that shot.
Speaker 8 (01:58:00):
Morris is gonna go and collect the ball, try and
speed things up.
Speaker 6 (01:58:03):
Final two and a half a minute. So the Sounders
are on the road next week. That final game before
the World Cup break.
Speaker 7 (01:58:09):
Is in LA against LAFC. That's gonna be a heck
of a match up between these two teams. They'll be
backling the third spot of the last month or two.
Speaker 9 (01:58:22):
They'll be chopping out the bit LFC, you will, after
not having the best run of form, not the typical
LFC that we're used to seeing. He's gonna be a
tough battle away from home to close out this stretch.
Speaker 6 (01:58:34):
Flicks down the corner doesn't really win. Its a little
ahead of my Dotson.
Speaker 7 (01:58:40):
It's like your sheet of the center back that's gonna
come on to me stabilize things a little bit. As
LA Galaxy get a much needed wins, try and change
up their season. But here come the Sounders where Us
flicks the ball to Roth drop left, pulled, the box
floats in.
Speaker 6 (01:58:55):
Towards the back. Second Marisa can't get a clean header
on it.
Speaker 8 (01:58:59):
He had the jump, he just.
Speaker 7 (01:59:00):
Couldn't quite find the connection and it goes into the
hands of marsen Kowski in the LA goal.
Speaker 6 (01:59:06):
We have to give Osase a lot of credit on
this play.
Speaker 9 (01:59:09):
He's a big body, but he's got the feet to
be able to do the job up there and release.
And I don't even think Jordan's in the right place
right time, and I think it comes off a LA
Galaxy player. Nelson comes across once again, and look that's
a guy that we can point It might be the
weak point of this LA defense, but he's done everything
right tonight.
Speaker 7 (01:59:26):
Well, menu By just need to do anything more than
just grab the ball, which he does yellow card. I'm sirio,
but with great fanny, you probably appreciate that there's a
few more seconds off the flot. We're a minute, final
minute of the ninety. The Romans is gonna come across,
we lose the ball the middle of the pub, not
where you want to do it, and then comes back
(01:59:48):
and wins it.
Speaker 6 (01:59:50):
I'm gonna go back to Andrew Thomas.
Speaker 7 (01:59:52):
We'll see what the fourth official puts on his board.
Sounds of an unbeaten street. Going back about a year too,
the Paris ene Man game in the Club World Cup
twenty two games, it could be coming to an end.
He branch Metz has said it a couple of times
in the last couple of games. At some point it's
gonna happen. And that's not happen tonight. Colanie cuts the
(02:00:12):
ball to go Maz and it's gonna clutch off the
A young attacking midfield is ankle.
Speaker 9 (02:00:19):
Is gonna go out on his near Sorry for a
Galaxy throat, I think for the for the Sounders, we're
at the ninetieth minute. There'll be five or six minutes
of extra time here. At what point do you put
Jackson Regan up top? You know, paincils off, You don't
have to worry about the speed drop back Colani go
as a center back. Maybe bring Lopez back and just
more dots in one of the two and let them
(02:00:41):
patrol the midfield. And then every ball's just got to
be played wide and lumped in the box and let
rig And get on the.
Speaker 6 (02:00:45):
End of it. It's six foot five targets useless sitting
in the back.
Speaker 7 (02:00:49):
Bill flicks ob a good little nutch boy Klesnes on
Mars has not too off balanced, and it skips through
to Mass and Kowski and the Galaxy goal. Five minutes
of added time as sheet of the big central defender
is ready to come on and lock things up for
Greg Fanny and his team as they try to call
themselves up the Western Conference ranking. Sounders not lost in
(02:01:13):
MLS since RSL and their second game of the MLS campaign.
As they have the ball there still a little bit
slow and pedestrian like, just as they try to find
that spot of space, it's poured by Jackson Reagan as
he flicks the ball, and then Heck just walks past
(02:01:35):
Jackson Reagan like he's not there, striding into the.
Speaker 6 (02:01:38):
Eighteen yard box as Heck, and it's nasamento and that's
gonna do it for the Galaxy.
Speaker 7 (02:01:44):
It's a brilliant run by Peck did all the right things.
Speaker 8 (02:01:48):
He guided the ball to the path of the big
number nine for.
Speaker 7 (02:01:52):
The Galaxy, and he passed it into an empty net
to make it two nail and wrap up three points.
Speaker 9 (02:01:57):
If that's the risk, if you're a center back to
ling out of the back, Jackson Reagan comes up. Instead
of playing the simple ball wide, he tries to flick
a ball inside. No Sounder around, and you're not catching.
Gabrielle Peck and Christian Roldan not a center back.
Speaker 6 (02:02:11):
Do I stay?
Speaker 3 (02:02:12):
Do I go?
Speaker 6 (02:02:12):
Dotson not quick enough and.
Speaker 9 (02:02:14):
Man, even in the ninetieth minute, he's the fastest player
on the field making Sounders look like they're standing still.
And it's a great finish from Nasimento. But all the
patients in the world just five yards out, six yards
out from goal inside the right foot, Galaxy fans go nuts,
and I'll do it for your sounders tonight.
Speaker 7 (02:02:32):
Well you might need this next read everybody, the Superior
gave me superior taste. Grab a michelob Ultra the Superior

FC and the Stanley starts are empty out. Sounds Faithful
have not seen this team lose and in almost twelve
(02:02:54):
months now, as we mentioned, so this is not something
they used to especially at home. Schmeetz has built a
fortresses milland picks the pocket of pushing roll down. He's
gonna run back, get the right angle, win the ball.
Rolling back, Thomas is gonna launch it forward as ours.
He's gonna go up and challenge headed by Yoshietios just
come on the field to anchor that back four, which
(02:03:18):
will shift to a back five now with three cents
of backs. Klani has it tries to rolling down the
line good. If anybody else hasn't put his foot wrong,
has he mentioned it, Brad, I mean the back four
and the goalkeeper having done one thing out of place today,
they've been really really strung.
Speaker 9 (02:03:38):
Look, I think what the Galaxy have done really well
is they've done their homework right. We know that the
Sounders when the ball goes out wide to Kilani and
he's sitting on the right flank, there's no threat if
you watch video from the start of this year, that
Klannie's gonna get the ball and serve the ball in
the box. It's gonna come. The next pass is going
to be a diagonal on an underlapping run. A lot
(02:03:58):
of times it works for the Sounders, but the galay
see I have stuck to their guns tonight and said
we're just gonna cover that ball and not allow any
Sounders player.
Speaker 7 (02:04:05):
Or it goes in jump to aase. Morris couldn't kill
the ball into the foot into the path of aase
and it goes back to Thomas who launched the ball
forward headed away by grave Us on the right hand side,
out on the far side for a throwing.
Speaker 9 (02:04:20):
To get in behind. And they're saying we're gonna hedge
our vets and say, the Sounders aren't gonna whip a
ball in from white areas, so we're just gonna stay tight,
keep everything out as wide as possible as we can,
and force the Sounders to try to beat us in
some way that they just can't figure out. And we
said it might come from wide areas, but the Sounder
is still not willing to swing a ball in from
(02:04:41):
white areas.
Speaker 6 (02:04:41):
Everything comes back.
Speaker 9 (02:04:42):
Inside, and it goes outside, comes a little bit predictable,
and the Galaxy of eating it up tonight.
Speaker 7 (02:04:48):
Yeah, Sounders have struggled somewhat today against a well organized,
well or machine in La Galaxy.
Speaker 6 (02:04:57):
To nine.
Speaker 7 (02:04:57):
Third game on the road for them, and they have
not look fatigue whatsoever in this particular game. I know
we mentioned it. Longtime rivals are the Galaxy and the
Sounders go where. That's two thousand and nine when the
Sounders came into the league. The challenged by new on
Peck Cross comes y I do and just cleans up things.
Speaker 6 (02:05:18):
Sounders have it, throw it.
Speaker 7 (02:05:19):
In quickly get here in the final thirty seconds or
so of the five minutes of added time. Well this
copyrighted audio casts of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced,
or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer.
As we tick towards the ninety fifth minute and the
referee will be putting the whistler's mouth shortly, we'll see.
Speaker 6 (02:05:40):
If he hads on a couple more seconds for that goal.
Speaker 7 (02:05:42):
Potentially the Sounders will most likely to want to get
this thing done and then reorganize themselves for next week, where,
of course, go.
Speaker 6 (02:05:51):
Now to LAFC is always a difficult thing. That's a
cheap giveaway by Christian rold On and ess I Men.
Speaker 8 (02:05:57):
So the goalscorer of that second goal plays it in
and it goes to Peck.
Speaker 7 (02:06:01):
One B one versus new who drop of the shoulders,
Peck towards the preferred and left food. We see that
so many times, not just today but over the course
of his time in MLS. Peck and Pencil have been
great additions for the Galaxy. The referee now puts the
whistle choice mouth and calls it, and it's a disappointing
(02:06:23):
game for the Sounders and an end to the unbeaten
run that goes back almost twelve months. Last loss here
was Paris and German back in June and the Club
World Cup, but it was goals for the twenty third
minute by Peck and then the ninety second minute by
Nasa Meno fed by Peck, who win tu nil here
(02:06:44):
at Luminfield.
Speaker 9 (02:06:45):
Branevans your final thoughts, Yeah, Look, if we go on
another streak and next year at this time we're talking
that the last Sounders loss was against the Galaxy at home,
we're doing pretty good, I think. And for the Sounders tonight,
you didn't play your best, you know that. So now
it's back to the draw board. You get a full
week in between games and a massive game at LAFC.
But the Sounders did enough to put the ball in
the back of the net tonight. Musovsky has to put
(02:07:08):
that ball aways one on one with the keeper, and
that changes the complexion of an entire game, right, especially
at home, and he doesn't, and then Fall's victim to
an unfortunate injury, and then the Sounders just couldn't find
their way back into this one. A couple half chances,
nothing that really threatened the LA Galaxy defense.
Speaker 6 (02:07:26):
So it's back to the drawing board.
Speaker 8 (02:07:27):
Well, you're right, I was sure Brian's message was getting
them on early.
Speaker 7 (02:07:31):
This is their third game on the road, they haven't
been home yet, sleeping their own beds, and you're right,
if they have scored that goal early, it could been
a very different game.
Speaker 6 (02:07:38):
Yeah, of course.
Speaker 9 (02:07:38):
And that's how we were as defenders too, if you
had a bad run of form, it's like, let's extend
this thing as long as we can.
Speaker 6 (02:07:44):
For the Galaxy, I think it was that, and they
did it.
Speaker 9 (02:07:46):
They held strong, and then it was two individual efforts
from the Galaxy that were truly fantastic. One from Markel
Royce that pass not many players in this league and
hit that pass, and then of course Gabrielle Peck turning
on the Jets there at the end in the ninetieth minute.
Pretty incredible by the Galaxy. A great turnaround for them,
and now the Sounders will be ruined that one. I
(02:08:07):
think they'll walk into this locker room disappointed. But it
wasn't makeshift lineup once again, and almost Schmenz's kind of
throwing darts of who's gonna play in that back line,
and that's tough to do in this league consistently to
get results. To do what they've done so well so
far is admirable.
Speaker 7 (02:08:23):
Yep, changes didn't quite work out today, but the Sounders
will be locking their wounds.
Speaker 8 (02:08:28):
For the next seven days before they get back on
the field next Sunday.
Speaker 6 (02:08:32):
Well, thanks for everyone involved in today's broadcast. Terry Ryan
here in the booth, Trevors Mogod.
Speaker 7 (02:08:38):
Back at the studio, Kevin Cake, Keay Dunning for their
preparation during the week, and then Steve Zaquani on the sidelines,
and of course the Sounders legend Brad Evans alongside me
here in the booth.
Speaker 8 (02:08:51):
So disappointing loss for.
Speaker 7 (02:08:52):
The Sounders, but they'll be back here next Sunday when
the Sounders travel to LAFC for the final game before
the club the World cupbreak.
Speaker 8 (02:09:02):
We're then to leave us now.
Speaker 7 (02:09:03):
Jackson, Felts and Pete Fewing will be back to break
everything down. I'm Danny Jackson, thanks for joining us this
evening from Lumenfield where it finishes.

(02:10:18):
The Sounders FC Postmatch Show starts now.
Speaker 2 (02:10:23):
Well for the first time since facing PSG in the
Club World Cup last year, Your Seattle Sounders have lost
here at lumen Field. Final score Galaxy two Sounders Nothing.
We welcome you into the postgame show Jackson Felts alongside
the coach Pete Fewing, as we are going to talk
(02:10:43):
about and break down what is a very frustrating and
very very disappointing result tonight here at lumen Field in
a game that was for Seattle.
Speaker 3 (02:10:55):
The third home game in eight days.
Speaker 2 (02:10:58):
They drew against Sandy Diego, they beat San Jose, and
now a loss to the Galaxy. Galaxy also third game
in eight days, all on the road. They won in Atlanta,
lost in Kansas City, and now win here at Luminfield tonight.
Speaker 3 (02:11:14):
Pete, let's just.
Speaker 2 (02:11:15):
Get your instant reaction and opening thoughts to this Sounders loss.
Speaker 4 (02:11:20):
Well, it's disappointing. There's that side of the coin. I
think the locker room always think about that. I think
I think coach is gonna be not pleased with the
effort and rising to the occasion a chance. You know,
we've we've struggled against Kansas City team that was diabolical,
we struggled against the San Diego team that was struggling,
(02:11:43):
and now we struggle against the eleventh place team, and
we have to do better.
Speaker 5 (02:11:47):
We have to do better. On the other side, you've
got to give La a lot of credit.
Speaker 4 (02:11:52):
Boy, they were celebrating after that game as if they
were in first place and just got into first place.
They wanted it a little bit, they wanted it more,
and so that's where it gets tough.
Speaker 5 (02:12:04):
You as a team, as a coach, you want to
make sure that your team wants it more than the opponent.
Speaker 4 (02:12:09):
And so kudos to LA Galaxy and Greg Vanny for
their win. Two very good goals, and we've got to
do better.
Speaker 2 (02:12:18):
Let's talk about that first goal, because I mean, ultimately
that is where the Sounders are playing from behind the
eight ball. The LA get their goals. First one came
in the twenty third minute. Will go over that in
a moment. Ninety second minute. They got their second goal
just a counterattack. Sounders pushed a lot of numbers forward
there at the end and Nasamento put it in in
the ninety second minute. But I want to go back
to the twenty third minute because that is where we
(02:12:40):
talk about goals change games.
Speaker 3 (02:12:41):
This goal changed this game.
Speaker 2 (02:12:43):
And forced the Sounders to play a little bit differently,
and obviously already to note by the way sixth minute
of this game, Sounders obviously rotated pretty heavily from Wednesday.
Dannymzoski started up top Ferrera in the middle of Jordan
on the wing.
Speaker 3 (02:12:57):
Sixth minute of this game.
Speaker 2 (02:12:58):
Cross comes in from Ariol into the box, Mazoski goes
up for it and it's a head injury for Danny Mazowski,
he has to come off the field. Albert Rusnak comes
on in the twelve minutes and Jordan Morris is put
up top. From that position, Ferrera goes out wide, Rusnak
is in the middle twenty third minute. Then what we
see is Marco Royce, the German legend, big addition for
(02:13:22):
the Ali Galaxy a couple of years ago.
Speaker 3 (02:13:24):
Does Marco Royce.
Speaker 2 (02:13:26):
Things, slips a phenomenal ball between a few Sounder defenders
and then creates Gabrielle Peck going one on one with
Andrew Thomas. He slips it in for the Galaxy one
nothing lead Pete. That is about as good as an
assistule Seed. Just as you mentioned, all credit to La
on that goal.
Speaker 5 (02:13:43):
Yeah, terrific.
Speaker 4 (02:13:44):
And you give a Marco Royce that amount of time
and Peck knows how to make good runs as does
Jordan Morris. There's a similar vertical run into space, splitting
the defenders.
Speaker 5 (02:13:56):
The key for Seattle is don't give him that kind
of time. Try to cut off that chain.
Speaker 4 (02:14:00):
But it was a perfectly weighted pass and Peck did
an excellent job of just tucking it under Andrew Thomas.
Andred had really no chance on it whatsoever. So yeah, kudos,
good terrific goal. You know, you get these little windows
right that close.
Speaker 5 (02:14:15):
And then the pass is not available. That pass was
right through a small space.
Speaker 4 (02:14:21):
Yeah, small space again perfectly waited for Peck to run
on to it hit first time.
Speaker 5 (02:14:25):
So yeah, that was a terrific goal. And then their
countertag goal is exactly what you hope for.
Speaker 4 (02:14:31):
Right they go down the right hand side, Naciamento just
hangs at the back post, they draw defenders, little cutback
ball and he tucks it away for the final dagger
in the Sounders.
Speaker 5 (02:14:44):
Chest right there. So that was a tough one, but yeah,
two good.
Speaker 4 (02:14:47):
Goals from LA And again Greg Vanny has to be
thrilled to your point. Three games on the road, a
win at Dallas or excuse me how Atlanta and then
to come here and get a win.
Speaker 5 (02:14:57):
That's a very good week for the LA Galaxy.
Speaker 4 (02:15:00):
This could be a week for them. You know, they've
gone from eleventh place in the league. This could be
a win for them that kind of they build off
of for the rest of the year.
Speaker 3 (02:15:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:15:10):
Now all of a sudden, there ninth place, now they're
in the playoff picture.
Speaker 2 (02:15:14):
Yeah, they certainly are nice win there for the l Galaxy.
We'll get a break here on the postmatch show. We
will come back and talk about what Seattle didn't do
offensively in this game. They were shut out in this game.
Two nothing loss for the Sounders against the Galaxy. We'll
continue on the post game show. I will quickly mention
this sound Transit would like to remind all everyone to
obey all signs and signals winner on train tracks. Light

and security on sound Transit by visiting soundtransit dot org.
Speaker 3 (02:15:43):
Slash ride dash with dash us. It's a Sounder loss.
Speaker 2 (02:15:46):
We'll continue talking about it next on Sports Radio ninety
three point three KJRFM.
Speaker 1 (02:15:55):
Now back to Seattle Sounders sucker on Sports Radio ninety
three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 3 (02:16:02):
Welcome back to Lumenfield tonight.
Speaker 2 (02:16:04):
The Seattle Sounders have lost here at home for the
first time since facing PSG in the Club World Cup
last year. Nearly twelve full months since the last Sounder
loss here at Luminfield. It has happened La Galaxy winning
two to nothing. It's now time for our Emerald Queen
Casino Play of the Match. We don't have a play
(02:16:24):
of the match unfortunately to give to you tonight. I
will tell you that each game, the Play of the
Match is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital
of the Northwest. I did the bit, Pete, because I
think the absence of one is the glaring point here
and sometimes we've had games like this where there have
been near chances, really good build ups, really good attacks,
(02:16:45):
and it is off the post or off the crossbar,
and it's man that would have been the play of
the match. So we're gonna make it that in honor.
There even wasn't that tonight, Pete. The offense just wasn't
able to create anything deserving of that moment.
Speaker 4 (02:17:00):
Yeah, I think the final pass was a problem today,
getting to the right spots, getting too the near post,
getting to the cutback, getting in to the far post.
We just we were missing on the location of the
of the cross and again I would give la once.
Once we got about thirty five minutes to go in
the game, you saw that they were starting to have
(02:17:23):
all eleven players in their defensive third, so they made
it very tough. Good game plan makes perfect sense. And
then the goalkeeper Marsonkowski was exceptional. He came up with
a huge save on Paul Ariola. That's the closest thing
I think we would have had to play of the match.
Where was a ball to the back post fifty nine
fifty ninth minute and and Oriola fearless gets up, gets
(02:17:45):
his head on it, and and Marsonkowski just comes flying across,
sacrifices his whole body, try to get his big cover
as much room as he can, and he knocks it
out for a corner kick. So I think I think
we were good in the defensive, the middle third, the
attacking third, but the very very final third inside the
(02:18:08):
penalty box.
Speaker 5 (02:18:09):
We just couldn't. I think we you know, we're got
to shoot a little bit more.
Speaker 3 (02:18:14):
I was gonna that was gonna be my follow up
on the trigger.
Speaker 2 (02:18:16):
There was one moment in this game I didn't have
a written down on minute, but Osasi di Rosario gets
a ball about eighteen yards out, turns, takes a shot.
Speaker 3 (02:18:23):
It goes well wide, but liked it. I turned to
you and I said, I like that.
Speaker 2 (02:18:27):
Though I like the and it didn't feel like we
had as much really attention towards Hey, I gotta look
take it a little.
Speaker 5 (02:18:35):
Bit of urgency. Yeah, he turned very well, used his
body well.
Speaker 4 (02:18:38):
I mean he's a big guy. That's what we hope
he gets very good at. We had a we had
a guy Roger Davies for the Sounders in the NASL days,
and he was exceptional at turning people using that big
frame of his azaz knew exactly what he wanted to do,
got the ball in a tight space with a defender
on him, Uh, got his body positioned right, and then
(02:19:00):
unfortunately mishit it.
Speaker 5 (02:19:01):
But I'm with you, I thought that was good as well.
Speaker 4 (02:19:03):
So you know Albert Russa, we saw him absolutely smash
a goal from just outside the edge.
Speaker 5 (02:19:09):
Of the box on the left hand side a few
weeks ago.
Speaker 4 (02:19:11):
I'd like to see him pulling the trigger. I just
think it opens up the defense a little bit. Yeah,
and then you start to get in a rhythm where
that's what you're doing is pass past, past, past pass.
Speaker 5 (02:19:20):
So our crosses were a little bit off.
Speaker 4 (02:19:24):
And then there was one we going down the right
hand side where Azase didn't quite anticipate it. And you
see that when a player's in and out of the
lineup and he's just got to believe that the ball
is going to get to that near post, and had
he just made a bee line to the near post,
might have had a better opportunity.
Speaker 5 (02:19:40):
Its good cross, but we didn't have any runners in
the right spot.
Speaker 4 (02:19:43):
So I think Brian Schwetzer was going to be really
disappointed with that one tonight because LA coming off all
this long road trip, three games on the road, they
seemed to it felt like they wanted it a little
bit more.
Speaker 5 (02:19:55):
And once they got that first goal again, terrific goal.
Speaker 4 (02:20:00):
They managed the game very well and it made it
difficult for Seattle, and then Seattle starts to play into that,
and then it becomes a long game and then they
bury it in the last minutes the stoppage.
Speaker 3 (02:20:12):
Time they certainly do.
Speaker 2 (02:20:14):
Is a to nothing win for the LA Galaxy tonight,
a luminfield over the Seattle Sounders. We'll take a break,
We'll come back and talk about what's next for Seattle.
There's no midweek game. They get a full week plus
a day off. We'll tell you where they are going.
They are going on the road for the last game
before the World cupbreak. We'll talk all about that next
on the postgame show Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.
Speaker 1 (02:20:37):
Now back to Seattle Sounders. Sucker on Sports Radio ninety
three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 2 (02:20:44):
Welcome back to Luminfield, Welcome back to the postgame show.
Seattle Sounders falling tonight by a final score of two
nothing to the LA Galaxy. Sounders FC Soccer is presented
by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. Oh
So Della Airlines is proud to donate one soccer ball
for every mile ran by Sounders FC players this season.
Three foundations, one mile, one ball program. Time to take
(02:21:05):
a look ahead at what's next for the Sounders. They
are facing LAFC next Sunday night. They get a full
week plus a day off. They're gonna be playing at
LA at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, just outside of downtown.
Speaker 3 (02:21:18):
That's May twenty fourth.
Speaker 2 (02:21:19):
We will have a Provident Swedish premat show of six
o'clock with a kickoff of six twenty five down at
BMO Stadium. We'll have that right here, Sports Radio ninety
three point three KJRFM, Plus watch it on Apple TV
and listen in Spanish language on l Ray thirteen sixty Pete.
Speaker 3 (02:21:36):
It's a full week off. We would hope we get
to kind of see the resume of the.
Speaker 2 (02:21:41):
Normal starters with Jordan Hayesuss Albert Rothrock in that four
attacking members, Christian Roldan, Snyder Burnell. It's just a question
of that back line with the health of Alex Roldan.
He was out today because of a hamstring. But Kalani Tino,
I think that Brian Schpenzer is gonna be will be
able to figure out a strong lineup for the final
game before the World Cup break.
Speaker 5 (02:22:01):
I think he's going to figure out a good lineup.
Speaker 4 (02:22:03):
But I also think the big thing is he's going
to say, hey, we're not going into this World Cup
break on a downward trend.
Speaker 5 (02:22:10):
This LA game.
Speaker 4 (02:22:12):
In his mind and the player's mind, I think they
would say that that was not how we want to end.
Speaker 7 (02:22:17):
We want to end.
Speaker 5 (02:22:18):
Going up right.
Speaker 4 (02:22:19):
And so this game with LA and LA is a
little bit behind us in the table right, So that's
a a team we want to keep behind us. Right now,
LAF season sixth place with twenty one games. We have
played twelve, they've played thirteen. But again we want to
keep them behind us. We're in fourth place. We want
to make sure we stay at least that.
Speaker 5 (02:22:41):
Or go up the table.
Speaker 4 (02:22:42):
Bottom line I think is I saw a great energy
from LAFC and great joy after the game. Maybe it's
because hey, we're in ninth place now, we're in the playoffs.
LA Galaxy, La Galaxy. Yeah, we're in the playoffs now
and we had a very good week. I'd like to
see the Seattle Sounders have that kind of joy after
the game at LAFC. And that's a very difficult place
(02:23:03):
to play. This team that we face today, like next
week's LA team, is loaded with talent.
Speaker 2 (02:23:09):
Yeah, they certainly are a big one with Sun and
with Bwonga, great attacking talent, but they have been struggling
of late, and defensively they are certainly vulnerable. So hopefully
no goals tonight against the Galaxy turns into a few
goals down there in LA against LAFC next weekend. We'll
also mention that here it wasn't today, i'd be with
the two nothing loss, But this season, when the Centers win,
(02:23:32):
you'll win a free make chick in the next day
exclusively in the McDonald's app with any minimum two dollars
purchase down on the McDonald's app today and check out
the deals waiting for you.
Speaker 3 (02:23:42):
We'll take a break here in the postmatch show.
Speaker 2 (02:23:43):
We'll come back one more segment because we do have
that World Cup break ahead. I want to ask Pete
fewing his thoughts on the United States men's national team
entering the World Cup in just now twenty six days
will be their first match against Paraguay.
Speaker 3 (02:23:58):
We will talk about the World Cup ahead for.
Speaker 2 (02:24:00):
The United States next year on the postgame show Sports
Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.
Speaker 1 (02:24:10):
Now back to Seattle Sounders Sucker on Sports Radio ninety
three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 3 (02:24:17):
Welcome back to Luminfield.
Speaker 2 (02:24:18):
It's the postmatch show following a Sounders loss two nothing
final score, a loss to the La Galaxy at Seattle's
first loss here at Lumenfield since facing PSG in the Club.
Speaker 3 (02:24:29):
World Cup last year.
Speaker 2 (02:24:31):
Speaking of the World Cup that is coming up now
in just under a month, the United States coming up
have their first game against Paraguay in a group that
will feature a game here at Luminfield against Australia on
June nineteenth here at noon. That will be very, very
exciting for those who didn't see some sad news earlier
(02:24:51):
this week or last weekend. I should say Johnny Cardoso,
a United States men's national team midfielder.
Speaker 3 (02:24:57):
He suffered a major injury over their playing in Europe.
Speaker 2 (02:25:00):
He was kind of battling, I would say with Christian
rolled On for one of the final midfield spots on
the World Cup roster, and now he Cardoso will be
missing the World Cup.
Speaker 3 (02:25:11):
That probably you know, it's one of those hard things.
Speaker 2 (02:25:14):
Spoke with Christian rolled On earlier this week on KJR
where it probably means way better chances of Christian rolled
On making the United States World Cup roster, but it
is a shame that Cardoso will be missing the World Cup.
Of course, Pete in our final couple of minutes here,
this is a massive, massive World Cup for the United States.
It's here at home. It's the chance for the Golden
(02:25:34):
generation in their prime. What do we expect from the
United States coming up in this World Cup.
Speaker 4 (02:25:39):
It's gonna be curious that It's very important they get
off to a good start. Everyone says in the group
stage it's the second game that makes the biggest difference.
Speaker 5 (02:25:46):
It's the pivotal game in group play.
Speaker 4 (02:25:50):
So it'll be interesting to see how we come out
and perform a momentum in something like this is important.
Speaker 5 (02:25:57):
Health is very important as well.
Speaker 4 (02:26:00):
And and you know right now, one thing we were
lacking with our national team that we haven't lacked in
decades before is goalkeeping, right, is it?
Speaker 5 (02:26:11):
Is it Matt Freeze? Is it Matt Turner? Who's going
to be the good goalkeeper?
Speaker 4 (02:26:15):
We've had Keller, We've had Howard, We've had Gosh, the
big guy Freedol.
Speaker 2 (02:26:22):
We've had some very good Hanneman as well.
Speaker 4 (02:26:26):
And even go back to Tony Miola. You know when
Tony Meola in Italy, right, he had that moxie. It's
so funny to think that he was such a presence
on the field, but he was. And we had a
lot of players in ninety and then and then even
the US in ninety four that had presence on the field.
And Alexi Lawless was he one of the best players? No,
(02:26:46):
but he had a swagger about him. Marcelo Balboa, Right.
Speaker 5 (02:26:49):
So who's going to come into this World Cup and
bring that swagger and bring that moxie? And we are
in the US.
Speaker 4 (02:26:56):
The best World Cup the US has had uh in
recent years is the one in the US at ninety four.
So can they come out, can they come together as
a group, right, And they've got to get off to
a good start because because we haven't been clean yet,
we haven't had convincing wins against tough opponents. And the
(02:27:18):
World Cup tournament play, it's a lot different than these friendlies.
Everything matters, right, Yeah, And there's so.
Speaker 5 (02:27:25):
Much on the line, right.
Speaker 2 (02:27:26):
Well, if the United States wins their group and then
they win one more match in the round of thirty two,
the round of sixteen game for the United States would
actually be be right back here at Luminfeed on what
would be July sixth. I want to say, in the
round of sixteen game, there is a likelihood, a possibility.
I suppose that it is the United States versus Belgium.
(02:27:47):
But pete for me, just have one minute here to
wrap this for me, buy or sell this comment. The
United States in this tournament will live and die by
our big time players. You're Christian Polisic, You're Tyler Adams
stepping up and having big time performances.
Speaker 1 (02:28:02):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (02:28:03):
Absolutely, that's what the World Cup's all about, right, whether
it's clint'sman in Germany, look at look at the last
World Cup, which was such an awesome final France Argentina
and Bob pay.
Speaker 3 (02:28:14):
Three goals right right, and your stars step up?
Speaker 4 (02:28:17):
Yeah, you need your stars to play incredibly well. That's
they have that moniker of being the top player on
the team. They've got to come through and show it
when the World Cup begins, right when the lights are on.
Speaker 2 (02:28:28):
Yeah, they certainly will because there are a lot of
United States men's national team stars that we will certainly
be talking about over the next month and focusing on
if the United States can get what they need out
of those players. There are certainly questions of who do
you put and go from Risio Pachettino, you bring in
one of you know, the top coaches globally. For my money,
(02:28:50):
he was the best coach the United States could have gotten.
And that is also coming from I admit a Tottenham
Hotspur fan who led us to our recent glory, but
I would say that his system, his tactics, his ability
is the best the United States could do.
Speaker 3 (02:29:06):
Now we will see if he can pull it off.
Speaker 2 (02:29:08):
Want to thank everybody are worth our broadcast tonight. Great
call tonight from Danny Jackson and Steve Zachwani and Brad Evans.
We got Travis Smuger back in the studio, Terry Ryan
here on site, our broadcast.
Speaker 3 (02:29:17):
Producer Keeley Dunning.
Speaker 2 (02:29:18):
I want to thank Pete Feuing here, the coach on pregame, halftime, postgame.
Speaker 3 (02:29:22):
My name is Jackson Felts.
Speaker 2 (02:29:23):
We thank you for listening tonight once again here from Luminfield,
your Seattle Sounders falling for the first time in a
year to the LA Galaxy at home two to nothing. Everybody,
have a good night. We got PGA next on KJR.
