Now with Lee Sterling, here's Suffie and Dial.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
You know, we have Leon every week on Friday, really
for one reason, to just have him today, right, I mean,
that's the price we pay just get him on every week.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
So we don't really want to twenty weeks.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
I don't rely care.
Speaker 5 (00:40):
We just want him for one, so we endure him
for the rest of the ye pretty much.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
We just tolerate him. I got you.
Speaker 5 (00:45):
That's why we want him on. I don't necessarily agree, Lee,
but you know I'll go with Softie, so we have
him locked in.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
I know you're in high demand on this day on
the Friday before the Super Bowl, so we want to
make sure that you're going to be there every Friday
before the big game for and you're here with us
again from Paramount Sports in South Florida.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
How are you man good? You just made the cut.
I just turned down Yakima to take take your show.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Well, Bellingham is here, by the way, Kpug, so if
you want to go on with them, we kind of ring.
Speaker 6 (01:16):
Well wait wait wait didn't wait wait wait, hold on,
didn't you didn't you do a show one time? Was
it from Bellingham with George on that farm?
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Port Angelis? Port Angelis? That's that's the other way. That's
that's west. This is going north towards Canada, by the way.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
But yeah, we did. We did do a show.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
We did a show from George's living room. May he
rest in peace. Uh there were more animals than furniture
in the living room, by the way, at George's house.
But let let's first of all talk about the line.
I mean, got it really hasn't moved at all, right,
I mean it's been four and a half all week long,
even going back to you know, twelve days ago.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
What do you attribute that to, man.
Speaker 6 (01:58):
Well, a couple of times in a few places it's
reached five, then all of a sudden comes right back down.
We really haven't heard of many you know big you
know multi million dollar bets.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
George from Mattress, not George. When I say Mattress.
Speaker 6 (02:12):
Mac hasn't come in yet with his usual five to
ten million dollar wagers, so interested to see who he
comes with on the side there.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
But you know, I think that you know, it was
gonna come out at three and a half.
Speaker 6 (02:27):
That was the projected line before the championship games. And
the reason uh it went up one more point was
because obviously Seattle looked more dominant.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
So I think it's it's going to stay there.
Speaker 6 (02:39):
And uh, I think we're gonna see pretty pretty much
equal action. I think maybe a way to take a total.
A lot of people keep asking about the total. I
like the first half under. I think both teams are
kind of kind of feel each other out.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
Both were really good at halftime.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
At Testin, So what is the under?
Speaker 6 (02:56):
Like twenty one twenty one and a half for the
first half. I can see I could see, you know,
I could see a you know, a ten to seven,
you know, something like thirteen to seven game here at
half tops maybe even lower than that.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
So I like the under.
Speaker 6 (03:14):
But on the game, I just think that Seattle is
one year ahead as far as development compared to these Patriots.
It's hard to go from a losing record one of
the worst teams to get into the Super Bowl. They
just had such an easy schedule and then to face
Denver get lucky in fate, the Broncos on the road
(03:35):
without their starting quarterback, and we know Sean Payton made
a mistake there at the end of the first quarter.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Should have gone for the field goal.
Speaker 6 (03:43):
I think the way that Seattle attacks them here is
I think they used the pass to set.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Up the run.
Speaker 6 (03:49):
I think it's real important on first down to throw
the ball probably at least half the time. And on
the other side, I just don't think New England has
enough explosive players. Guy would scared me if he gets
back in the backfield and has more than five six
carries is Trevion Henderson. He had I think three or
four touchdowns of more than fifty yards. He just doesn't
see the field much anymore. Ramonde Stevenson just doesn't scare me.
(04:13):
And I think you can pop the ball loose from him.
He's due to have a fumble. And also I think
Drake May with his shoulder may not be one hundred percent,
So I think you're gonna get two turnovers. I think
that also the fact that you get to play there
once a year is is also maybe a little bit helpful,
(04:34):
especially for the kickers, should help out Myers and Borg
Gallas has had some struggles struggles here.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
He's from South forties, not used to.
Speaker 6 (04:42):
Playing in places have windy conditions or cole weather, as
we saw in Denver.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
So I like to Seahawks. I think they win and
cover twenty seven to sixteen.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Twenty seven to sixteen, Lee. I mean, the main reason
to go to Paramount Sports on Super Bowl Sunday is
has little to do with you and has much more
to do with your daughter, Brooke, because that's where the
money is made. She is ten h and one in
picking the over under length of the national anthem. So
please tell us share us your insights that you have
(05:16):
got from your daughter, who is a genius on this
particular wager.
Speaker 6 (05:21):
Well, the first nine were easy, I mean everything was
five to fifteen seconds difference, and she figured it out easy.
Then she told me gonna be pretty tough with Reba
McIntyre two years ago, and as you remember, we had
the under Reba McIntyre repeated the last line twice and
it went over and there was so much confusion. Most
sportsbooks paid out both sides as a goodwill gesture.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
So she says, it's a win. We're going to count
that as a push.
Speaker 6 (05:47):
And then last year John Battista he ended up singing
it and she said it's gonna be the toughest one
yet we had the under and it won by one second.
So coming into this year, I'm like, can we just
have a breeder And after two days she comes back
and she says, I have an easy winner.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
I'm like, really, it's.
Speaker 6 (06:07):
Charlie Pooth and Charlie Pooth is he's one of these guys.
He's a singer, composer. I mean, he does everything. He
produces his own music. So I said, well, send me
some tapes so I just so I can see what
you see.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
She goes, he's never saying the national anthem. I'm like,
you're kidding me, right, She's like no, but she said.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
He did do an interview and you can look it
up on YouTube with Ryan Seacrest a couple of weeks ago.
In that interview, he revealed that he's going to be
playing and singing with a choir and also an orchestra,
so don't be surprised if he's at the piano, so
it starts from the first note and goes to the
(06:51):
last note.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
She thinks it's going way over the one minute.
Speaker 6 (06:55):
And fifty nine second mark, So he thinks it's gonna
be in the two ten to fifteen range.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
All right over on the anthem first half under you like?
You also like the under forty five and a half
with a score that he gave us twenty seven to sixteen.
You like the Hawks given the four and a half? Obviously,
what about some other props? A couple of props that
have caught your eye that we can jump on.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
I think Stefan Diggs. I think they're gonna shut him down.
You know, here's the guy I think that's lost a
full step, and if you play a lot of man
on man defense on him, I think under four and
a half receptions, even though he's caught four and five
in the two playoff games, you can keep him under
four and a half receptions. I think Cooper Cup's gonna
(07:39):
have a big game. Really good at reading zone defenses,
knows where the seams are those when to sit down.
His experience is gonna be invaluable over two and a
half receptions and I'm gonna take a flyer here. I'm
gonna take Everyone loves quarterbacks. There has not been a
running back who has won the MVP since Twell Davis
(08:03):
in nineteen ninety eight. I'm taking Kenneth Walker plus eight
point fifty to win the MVP. If it wins, I'm
gonna go to the Bahamas for a couple of weeks
and I place in Park City. I'll be back just
in time for March Madness.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
I love it. I love it. All right, Well, listen,
man again, this is where you shine. Baby. All right,
we're gonna keep an eye on all this.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Stefan Diggs under catches Cooper Cup over catches K nine
to win the MVP.
Speaker 5 (08:33):
Over on the Anthem.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
First half under Hawks minus four and a half and
the under forty five and a half.
Speaker 6 (08:38):
Anything I'm missing, yep, that's it. Let's just get ready
for a nice vacation. If the Hawks come through for us.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
I love it. You're the man. Great stuff and join
the game and we'll talk soon.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Ban Thanks guys, good luck, all right, Lee Stirling with
us as twenty seven to sixteen Seahawks give the four
and a half. Take the under you like that, by
the ways that work for, says Lee Sterling.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
All right, here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna get
a break.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
We got a lot to get to between now and
seven o'clock tonight. Hummelanin's gonna join us from the Wasted
Management in Scottsdale. We'll see how wasted he is when
he comes down the air with us at five o'clock.
Some final analysis from Hugh, We're gonna hear from Jackson
Smith and Jigba. We're gonna hear from Jaren Reid. Six
pm tonight, We're gonna give you a chance to call
(09:24):
the radio show and give us your thoughts on who
you would like the Seahawks to win this thing for.
On Sunday afternoon at three point thirty. That's coming up
at six. We're gonna get a break. And I think
when we come back our weekly visit conversation with the
man behind the mic for the radio broadcast on Sunday,
I'm looking at him right now, he's sitting right there
(09:46):
to your left.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
Dick.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Kevin Harlan gonna join next on ninety three three KJRFM.
