left single wide right.

Wilson throws over the middle, caught by his tight end.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
Luke Wilson inside the fifteen, breaks the tackle of the
ten and into.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
The in zone for the touchdown.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
The big spike for Luke Wilson, as he's now given
the Seahawks a twenty three to ten lee.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
He will try for two. It's a one point league.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
He gets the shotgun, snappy rolls out of the pocket.
Speaker 5 (00:23):
He cocks his arm. He's being chased.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
He goes left, he goes right, he sig zaggs, then
he throws up a jump on the end zone.
Speaker 6 (00:28):
It's caught hit the goal line by Luke Wilson.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
I'll live in two headed coot catch for a two
point conversion. What a play by Russell Wilson to Luke
Wilson and Seattle legs by three.
Speaker 7 (00:43):
We thought we'd mix it up culturally a little bit
down here, okay, and get a little Canadian ut going here.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
Yea, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (00:50):
On the radio show from San Francisco. Former Seahawk World
champion played in this game. Knows what it's like. Our
old cow, Luke Well sitting here with us on Radio
Row has been Man, miss you, I missed the city.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
I miss you guys.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Dude, it's been uh, it's been a bit of a trip.
Like being back here. I've I've covered all super roles,
but having Seattle in it, it's got me in a
weird emotional place talk, you know.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
I just.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
It was really funny because and again, I mean I
think you guys don't. But I'm working up at TSN
in Canada and I'm covering the NFL up there, and
last week I'm like watching the Broncos.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
Not exeuse me.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
I guess it'd be a week and a half ago
Broncos New England game.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
I'm sweating. I'm sweating bad.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
And they're like, lukelick, what's the matter with you, dude,
Look like what's going on. I'm like, listen, man, I'm like,
if Seattle wins later tonight and Denver is there, next
week will be glorious for me.
Speaker 8 (01:50):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
I'll be up there kicking my feet up, answering legion
a boom questions, answer and snap over the head questions
talking about a beating the twenty three team Broncos.
Speaker 5 (02:02):
I'm like, dude, you know, it's gonna be a lot
I like, and I mean, maybe.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
It's just a dude thing, but like I don't think
about it that much, you know, Like I don't like
bring up that game in my head.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
I don't want to think.
Speaker 7 (02:16):
About until other people start to mention it correct, which
it's being talked about a lot down here.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
It's given me a little you know, PTSD from that game.
Speaker 7 (02:25):
Thick and I have been trying, I think, to not
talk about that a lot on our show. But then
we go to the press conference with McDonald yesterday and
some newbie international media idiot from Scotland or wherever he
decides I'm going to be the.
Speaker 5 (02:37):
One to bring it up. Really, I didn't see that.
Speaker 8 (02:40):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
McDonald's been asked about this so much.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
What he's saying, he's just we do not.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Talk about He's trying to move on.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Like for me, what puts me in a weird spot
is like in the past, you have so many situations
where like, okay, like we can like you have some
sort of control as a player, you know, over your
own destiny, where it's like I'm just sitting out, I'll
be in the press area just chilling watching, you know,
the boys hopefully get it done.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
So it's a bit weird. The whole thing's a bit strange.
Speaker 8 (03:08):
Well, you're one of the few guys that got to
go through it twice and twice in a row.
Speaker 6 (03:12):
So what did you learn the second time through that
you said? All right, whether it was the.
Speaker 8 (03:16):
Lead up, how you prepared for the game, all this
downtime that you got that you have, Like, what did
you learn from the twenty thirteen season super Bowl that
you didn't do the twenty fourteen season super Bowl?
Speaker 1 (03:27):
You know? Uh?
Speaker 5 (03:29):
I think.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
If I could give Pete Carroll some props on this,
the biggest thing I would say is that for me,
it didn't really feel that different.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Yeah, so Pete's I know, it's crazy to think about
because you got a picture though.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
I've never been to a radio row is my rookie year,
my second year, Like I'd never been to a super
Bowl to experience the festivities, the media hype. We were
pretty sheltered. Like I remember vividly when we beat San
Francisco the year we won came in Monday, and I'm
a stupid rookie and I'm like, Oh, I wonder what
Pete's gonna like have the schedule this week. He was like, listen, guys,
(04:05):
and he was always like, I mean, you guys remember this.
But Pete was always like very loose with giving us
time off. And he comes in and he's like, this
is not the time for time off. He said, there's
gonna be a lot of distractions, a lot of moving parts.
You know, we're at the Giants facility in New York
that we're staying, or New Jersey. I guess where we're
staying in Jersey City. There's been a bus ride there.
There's media like we need to be prepped and ready
(04:28):
to go. So I remember the week prior to getting here.
We could have mentally and physically played in the super
Bowl on that Sunday, and then outside of a couple
extra media veils, like you're not really doing much. You're
not experiencing the super Bowl like we are, so in
a weird way, the only big difference between year one
(04:50):
and year two was I didn't think Media Day was
as cool. Year two like year one, I'm like, this
is nuts, this is kind of fun. Year two them
like I want to be anywhere else in the world
than right here.
Speaker 7 (05:00):
I mean, I'm getting old, I'm getting little crotchety turning
into a boob. Thirty years ago, I thought this was
the greatest thing in the world, Luke. I was there
for the Packers Patriots game in New Orleans, running around
like a big fanboy.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Whatever. Now I'm just can I take a nap for
God today?
Speaker 5 (05:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (05:15):
Right, yeah, place I can put my head down. But
you mentioned watching that Patriot Bronco.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
Game, Yes, rooting for Denver.
Speaker 7 (05:21):
Honestly, who would have been the better matchup for this
current Seahawks team the Broncos had they won for the Patriots,
who they're seeing on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Hot take, I would rather go Broncos. Okay, I know
it's probably not the common answer. So I've got the
final score. I'll give you my prediction right now. Let's
Scott final score twenty one to seventeen Seattle.
Speaker 5 (05:42):
Okay, but anything can happen. Sure, you know, anything can happen.
We all know that.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
But I do think that the Patriots team has not
gotten a fair shake from the media.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
You know.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Okay, They've played an easy schedule, that's correct. Absolutely, they
won fourteen games seventeen now, yes, you know. And then
the guy who scares me and I've never played for
Mike McDonald's clearly done a phenomenal job. So it's not
I know, more football, no more of this. But Rabel
scares me. That's where I get a very very nervous
and scares me in the sense of.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
Like he can steal you a game. You know. You
look at that Denver AFC Championship game.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Denver sends the late sub on in your last play there,
He's like, oh, you know, situational, I'll just send an
interchangeable D lineman out right now, clock sticking down, ref
standing over the ball, you know, and it's like we
throw a.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
Pick games over.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
I don't think they would have scored anyways, but it's
little things like that, his ability to use his timeouts defensively.
I don't love the matchup for Seattle versus Seattle's offense.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
I hope I'm very wrong.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
I want to be very clear here, boys, I hope
I'm wrong, But I do think there's a bit of
you know, let's say we're maybe a little overhyped on
our offense right now because we played two games against
San Francisco's defense, which was.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
Criminally bad in our run game. You look at the
Rams game.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
You can stack check me on this, but I think
we average two point nine yards per carry against the Rams.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
Two point nine yards per carry.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
This game is going to put Sam Darnold in a
brutal spot, in a very very bad spot. You cannot
ask anyone to go out here and basically have no
run game against this New England defense.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
How am I doing? I nail at two.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Point nine two point nine two point nine pretty good
that you can't, Yeah, I might have. You can't ask
anyone in this league against the defensive structure that the
Patriots run. Hey two, and there's a lot of skiesing
to have no run threats, Like, we need to establish
the run game if we want to win. That to
me is why when I watch Buffalo push around Denver,
(07:47):
they really pushed them around up front. I thought we'd
be able to push them around a little better, and
especially with Milton Williams here, And that's why I would
answer I would have rather played Denver.
Speaker 5 (07:57):
Well, you were.
Speaker 8 (07:58):
In Baltimore briefly in twenty twenty when Mike was there,
did you have any you know, do you have any
conversations with them when when Yeah, you had a little.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
Bit of information on him when he was hired as
the Seahawks head coach.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
I was I think it was Wink Martindale. For me,
it was Mike even that he was on the staff,
he was I was there for I was there for
three games, yeah, one month tops, and uh, I don't
know if I could have escaped out of that place
fastened out.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
Yeah, left left. Uh. I got a pretty nasty phone
call on that one.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
I just like, uh, you guys are gonna lie I didn't.
Speaker 5 (08:30):
First off, you got to take accounta bill. I didn't
play like super well. Uh.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
First game, I thought I played the right. Second game,
didn't make a couple of plays. Third game, I thought
I played actually pretty well. But I got a call
on Saturday. This is kind of how the NFL goes, right.
It was a COVID year. So I got a call
on Saturday and they're like, hey man, I'm ready to play.
I can't remember. I think we might have been playing Jacksonville,
but don't quote me on that. I'm thinking I'm gonna
get you know, twenty STAPs in this game, playing a
couple of specials.
Speaker 5 (08:56):
And all of a sudden, I get a call and
they're like.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Hey man, we've got some quarterback issues injury, while We're
gonna slide you down to the COVID practice squad and
then rebump you up next Monday, so you'll re sign.
Speaker 6 (09:07):
I'm like what.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
So? I remember driving when I got that call. I
was like shell shocked. I'm like, man, would I rather
be on the COVID practice squad in Seattle or the
COVID practice squad in Baltimore Owen's Mills. I'm like, damn,
brother pretty much been the easiest shis I ever made.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
I called him myself.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
I'm men, tell my agent.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
I'm like, Apete, I'm like, any chance you got spot
for me on the peace squad back home?
Speaker 5 (09:32):
He's like, of course, dude. So I just left and
I just fly out left. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
And they called me like come in monday to sign
your contract. Yeah, and I'm like that's gonna be a
bit tough.
Speaker 5 (09:43):
And They're like why.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
I'm like, well, I'm currently sitting on a plane in Seattle.
Speaker 7 (09:48):
I remember talking to you your second stint, Luke and
I got Luke Wilson with us. You told me that
you had just lost the desire to play football.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Yeah, remember having that conversation.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
I do, and you know, I haven't got it back,
Like I don't really you don't miss it, you know.
I think there comes a point in every guy's career
where it's like you're doing these things and then there's
just moments of guys aren't really trying to win. Yeah,
that was always tough for me, you know, it was
(10:21):
whenever you're in an organization where there's things that are
more important than winning, it's very tough for me to play.
Like personally, some guys can get over it. I think
younger in my career, we were trying to win. You
know what we did win the first four years, it's
pretty good. Four years, win the Super Bowl, lose super Bowl.
In the next two years we lost on the last play,
excuse me. We lost to the eventual NFC champion. And
(10:43):
then all of a sudden it just became you know,
there's a million reasons, but it's like, hey, this guy's
got to get the ball, this guy's got to get
his stats. You know, Oh, this guy's paid more even
though he's not performing. He's better than this guy, or
he's not as good as this guy. He's paid more,
so he's got to play. And I'm just like, you know,
and I'm still trying to carve my name out. The
Detroit year was a bloodbath, you know, and absolutely, and I
(11:04):
think anyone if document that it's a joke.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
And then you go, you know, back to Seattle.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
We had had a really good run in twenty nineteen
where you'd beat Philly on the wild card round and
had the Green Bay loss in Lambo, and I remember
thinking to myself, like, this is kind of a special team,
and you know, I felt like in twenty twenty we
had a shot. Yeah, you know, and that was the
year we won the division right and lost Yeah, and
(11:31):
lost in the first round of.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
The Rams Watford. Yeah, and yes.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
And then twenty and twenty one, I when I had
signed back for the day, you know, you might have
to edit this out, but there's just a lot of bs,
you know, I'm trying not to swear.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
I went back for one day at camp.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
I'm like, you know, there's a lot of things here
that we're focused on. I could see in one day
and I remember looking around. There's no Doug Baldwin, there's
no Germaine curse. We're not trying to win. Like I'm like,
this team isn't trying to win. I'd had a pretty
big hell scare a month and a half earlier, and
I was just like, and this is what we're talking about.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
I'm like, dude, what are you doing here?
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Yeah, like this team does not winning, is not even
in their top five like goals right now.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
We were a lot about it four and they still
did not have that.
Speaker 5 (12:15):
And I think that you're the one seven to ten that.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yeah, you know you're one. Yeah, you're right correct.
Speaker 7 (12:20):
Well, I just I mean again, thank god you got
out when you did, because when your heart's gone into it,
that's when you get hurt playing the game.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Right.
Speaker 7 (12:26):
Luke Wilson's with us from the Super Bowl. I want
to ask you about NICKI min Warrey. I'm sure you've
seen this video by now. I've hit limping out of
the car last night. Back to the hotel flashbacks of
Cam getting hurt in practice the week before the Patriot game.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
I remember we're sitting in Arizona.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
What are they saying? They said it is.
Speaker 7 (12:46):
He says he's going to Mike, he says he's going
to play. It's a right ankle. But the question is
how effective will he be? I guess the question is
when you have a sprain, slight sprain whatever in your foot.
How much can they mister Miaggi that up so before
the game.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
I got your answer on that I got. It really
depends on what So this is where it gets weird
when I hear ankle and they always say like it's
it's weird when it comes to this moment because's big.
You know, I would play if it's a super Bowl.
I would play if it's a super Bowl, right, well,
it's the super Bowl, right, yeah, you know, but he's
also a very young guy. In college, I had some
ankle stuff and basically and it's not it's not healthy.
(13:23):
But I remember a few of the games and I
regret doing this because we were not in the super Bowl.
But i'd get like twelve thirteen injections of like lyta
kane or xylacine.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
I think.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
I think those are the two of them that basically
freeze it so you can't feel it. Wow, So like
they'll get that thing numbed up.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
They will. But the question is like.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
You can't obviously, you know, if you have a sprained
ankle and you can't feel and you keep rolling it
and twisting and doing that, like your sprained ankle. Four
to six weeks could just have became four to six months.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
So what season's over?
Speaker 1 (13:57):
I mean, that's that's a that's how you would look
at it right when.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
I was playing.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Yeah, But also like every guy's different, every stats different,
every doctors different.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
Like it's not that some doctors might not do it.
Who knows. So I can't comment any of that. But
you can shoot up ankles. I know you can shoot
a b benkles because I've gotten mine. Sean is the
is the bye week.
Speaker 8 (14:18):
A bad thing for the Seahawks because they've been kind
of cruising, certainly offensively, they've been cruising a lot easier
than the Patriots would have it.
Speaker 6 (14:25):
This been better for the Hawks to play last Sunday.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Yeah, I mean yes, and again I think that when
I go across the board, I like the matchup pretty
much everywhere for Seattle except I hate like I hate
they just they have that mystique to him, I said Vrabel.
But the other guy is Josh McDaniels. Dude, Yeah, listen,
I know he hasn't had success ahead coach. He's had
a lot of success as an offensive coordinator. He was
(14:48):
THEOC when they beat us in twenty fourteen.
Speaker 5 (14:50):
Right, you know.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Yeah, And there's a lot of things that happened that game.
You guys know, twenty fifteen Super Bowl twenty fourteen season.
You just said the cam mcl Jeremy Lane getting hurt
in that game.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
I don't remember.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
That was a massive ordeal, Absolutely massive ordeal, Cliff Cliff.
So like, those things all helped them. But they did
score twenty eight points against US, right, you know. So
it's like McDaniels for the nextra week scares me as well. Again,
I do like Seattle, but I like to sing and
get real tight. I like it really tight.
Speaker 7 (15:22):
Boys, you're making me nervous, man, I'm with you on
the Hey, these guys are good. Let's not throw that
out there in the universe that we're gonna walk over
these guys.
Speaker 5 (15:29):
That's a bad take.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
They're very good teams. We're well coached. Yes, they have
a lot of good players and fundamentally sound.
Speaker 7 (15:35):
I have been telling everybody who will listen, even if
you're thinking that, shut your mouth, keep it to yourself. Yes,
don't throw that out there this week. Yes, you're a
big star on TV in Canada. Yeah, yeah, podcast big
Star I mean you're officially now a full fledged member.
Speaker 5 (15:51):
Yeah, you're you're us.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Yeah, this is how far your careers fall.
Speaker 5 (15:55):
You're you're a media hack like all of the Yeah,
I like that. I like that. Boys.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
How's that Nikaia or the same.
Speaker 5 (16:03):
You know what? Man? That was my dream going growing
up ever since I got to Seattle. I just want
to be like soft.
Speaker 7 (16:08):
Yes, congratulations John Us, You're the big Thank you guys,
talk sooner.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
Yeah, I appreciate you having.
Speaker 7 (16:14):
