Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, Welcome Tuesday. Here we are, Hi Andrews. How are you?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I am excellent, mister Ian forness? How are you sorry
about that little updating nowhere?
Speaker 3 (00:08):
Is that?
Speaker 1 (00:08):
I through the breaking news. I just glanced down and
I saw it from pass and that's an interesting story.
Probably won't get to that today. I'll leave that for
the morning show. Okay, let me although we'll talk about
what shean, we'll talk about the stuff is she I
don't think Shean's a fan of Pete Rose and others
that were thought to be cheaters in the game of baseball.
But we'll get to that. Joshians one twenty going to
(00:28):
join us today, John lond at two o'clock. So where
to start today? Where to start? I'm going to spend
more time tomorrow on the NBA stuff, but I'll spend
some time on it now because there's two things. One
the sale of the Blazers. Two would be the lottery,
(00:50):
the draft lottery. I'm going to tell you right now,
I don't believe that it's fixed. I do think it's broken.
I don't know how a team that has less than
a two percent chance gets there and gets that number
one pick. A team that really had no business benefiting
(01:10):
in any way, shape or form after what they did. Ineptness, stupidity,
whatever it would have been, but they did and they
got there. I feel bad for my friends in Utah,
where I worked for a long time. They've never moved up.
They've stayed flat a few times, but they've almost always
moved down. And then you look at that southwest part
of the United States of America. Those teams have all
(01:33):
had one and two picks like it's insane. The end,
it's probably just luck. That's fine, is what it is.
Let me hit on the other thing because this is
more closer to home. Then we'll get into baseball in
a second. So, and as you saw the story, the
Blazers are for sale officially, how does that affect us
(01:56):
Ian Well, I'll tell you in a second. Okay, I
think it's really important because I saw immediately people tweeting
stuff out about the Seahawks. Even this is where it's awesome.
Nobody reads things anymore. We just look at the headline.
The Blazers announced. The estate of Paul g Allen today
announced it has commenced a formal sale process for the
Portland Trail Blazers NBA franchise. Consistent with Allen's directive to
(02:19):
eventually sell his sports holdings and direct all estate proceedings
to philanthropy. The estate has selected investment bank Allen g
Allen and Company Sorry, and law firm Hogan Loveless to
lead the sales process. It's estimated that that process will
continue into the twenty five to twenty six basketball season,
so this is not going to happen tomorrow. The NBA
(02:42):
Board of Governors must then ratify a final purchase agreement.
Spring maybe gets done. This is the first of two
things that are important for us here in Seattle. This
is the last line in the release from the Blazers.
The news does not affect the Seattle Seahawks NFL franchise
or the estate's twenty five percent interest in the Seattle
(03:03):
Sounders MLS. Neither is for sale. Quick side note, I
didn't know they still owned twenty five percent of the
Sounder That's a large amount. Did you know that they
owned that much too?
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Did not? I thought it was kind of because I
know the Sounders have actually many different owners, many well.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Right, And I knew that I knew. I initially it
was Adrian had very little right and Paul g Allen
had almost all of it, right, that's obviously change. I
thought it changed to the point where like the Sounder,
I didn't even know that Paul g Allen, a state
even had a stake in it still right, twenty five
percent of a pretty significant chunk of money. And so
(03:44):
that kind of surprised me a little bit that they
because you know, they separated the business operations. It used
to all be together. They separated those. But here's where
this is. This is and for a rare occasion, I
actually tweeted something out today of my own doing, not
just to retweet, and I'll read what I said because
I think it's important and I think this is what
I want to discuss. And we'll do it a little
bit more tomorrow too, we have more time. But while
(04:06):
Blazer fans are celebrating, and they are, by the way, yeah,
so I note they hate the ownership situation and have
for a while. Once Paul g Allen died and Jody
and Burt Cole took over, it's been just an absolute
gong show of franchise. Just a disaster in terms of
on the floor. I can't speak to off the floor,
but on the floor it has been an absolute disaster.
(04:27):
All my media friends down there, and I worked there
for a long time, are just like celebrating now, like
thank god. This would be their feeling like we would
if John Stanton sold his stake in the in the Mariners. Yeah,
that's where it is. This is what I said, Well,
Blazer fans are celebrating. I have to won or the
NBA is really not good at multitasking. Well, another franchise
sale delay anything in terms of expansion, maybe not so far.
The commissioner has used labor relations, media rized Celtic sale,
(04:49):
et Cetera's delay excuses. That's my concern. I've got nothing.
I don't know anything tangible to say, like like, I
don't know. Maybe maybe it has nothing to do with it.
But I think if you're sitting up here in our
seats in Seattle, if you're listening driving at work, listening
on the Apples, seeing on our podcast later, make sure
you preset n I three point three KTERFM. If you're
(05:11):
doing that right now, you know what I'm talking about.
We have been in a situation far too long up
here where we've been waiting and waiting. Okay, what do
we need we need an arena. We've got the arena.
It feels inevitable. I think it is inevitable that this
(05:33):
is going to happen, that we're going to get an
expansion franchise. And by the way, for those saying I've
always seen suff on social media, let's go, maybe they'll
just buy the Blazers and move them up here. No, no,
because the building's tied to them too, So that's not
going to happen down there. And stop it. Just don't
even don't be a donkey and say that stuff. Okay,
like let them have their team. Portland sucks. We know that,
(05:54):
but we don't that's the last thing we need. Yeah,
but we know how bad they are multitasking. It's like
they just keep kicking the can down the road. Well,
we can't talk expansion until we get the media writes
steal done done. We can't talk expansion until we get
the NBA PA, you know, our labor agreement, our CBA
done done. We can't do that until Celtic sale and
(06:15):
the Timberwel sales are done done. Well, now another sale
is going on, and for context, this sale does matter
for what Seattle is going to pay for a franchise
it sets, It'll not yet another franchise being sold that
will set the price tag of what expansion is going
to cost. But will they have to wait until that
is done as well before they announced expansion. I hope not,
(06:39):
but I don't know one way or the other. And frankly,
I'll be honest with you, anybody in this town that
tells you that they know they don't. And I'm the
people that I work with at kCi who are involved
in this every single day, And there is a group
of people, high ranking people that are on this. This
is their job. It's transitioned from startup cracking to working
(07:03):
on NBA expansion. When day when Adam Silver says, oh,
you know, I haven't talked to Seattle, he's lying. He
has like he has fact he's talked to Sam Hallway.
He's talked to people. But even they don't know the date.
They don't know, like there's no hey, we're planning on
a news conference in July or December or November. They don't.
(07:27):
And that's what worries me here, to be honest with you,
that's what worries me a little bit, is we're gonna
kick the can down the road again. We're going to
keep moving the goalposts here, keep moving the finish line
because they can. And that's that's the only thing up here.
I'm happy for Blazer fans. They've wanted that franchise to
be sold for a while. I don't know if Phil
(07:48):
Knight's still involved in that. Like I said, we'll do
a little bit more of it tomorrow and kind of
talk about how it affects us up here. But it's
it just feels like it could be one another one
of those things that causes yet another delay. And you know, well,
if this thing doesn't get announced by late summer, by
before the start of the season upcoming, you know, it's
probably an eighteen to twenty four month ramp up at
(08:10):
bare minimum, then we're looking not at twenty twenty seven,
maybe twenty twenty eight. Like it's it just keeps getting
pushed further down the road. So that is that's the
only thing I thought of today when I saw this.
How does it affect us up here? Well, that's how
it could because the NBA. I'm not a good multitasker.
I'm the first to admit that. Man, I don't like
multi multitasking. I do a radio show. I host a
(08:33):
TV pre and postgame show. There's no multitasking there. Come
on talk, get to the video, get to the audio,
get to the interview, get to the break get the
hell out. It's very simple. That's what my mind can handle. Multitasking.
If you're an NBA commissioner, should be what you do,
you know for breakfast, and yet they seem not to
be able to do it. And that's what worries me
a little bit right now. That's what worries me a
(08:54):
little bit right now. Four nine, four to five to one.
That is the Unrestricted Free Agent text line. It's there
for you. Text your thoughts, comments, questions and concerns. Four
nine four five one. Joe Shean horrible injury for the
Yankees last night, breaking news. Joe she was Joe Jackson
Pete rose Rey and stated, I'm gonna guess he's not
gonna like that. We'll find out next Joe Shean.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Next.
Speaker 5 (09:21):

five hundred. Now here's Ian with our weekly baseball fix
from Joshian.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
So I was telling Andrews that I know Joe Shean
is going to have a response and an opinion today
on the breaking news from baseball, because I believe we
discussed this a year ago. You know what, Sometimes the
sports radio guys just hand it to you in your lap,
and I believe that is exactly what happened today with
(10:13):
the sports radio gods. Hello Joe she and how are.
Speaker 6 (10:17):
You more pissed off than I was four minutes ago?
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Again, radio guys, I just got this.
Speaker 6 (10:28):
I literally just got this, and I'm kind of working
through by reaction.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
But just I don't know if you.
Speaker 6 (10:32):
Did an update coming in, But so people know, Pete
Rose has been reinstated by Major League Baseball from his
permanent band along with a bunch of other dead people,
under the guise of well you're dead, so the band
is over when. So, I don't know how Rob Banford
advanced as far as he did in his life without
knowing what the word permanent means.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
But I guess that's.
Speaker 6 (10:51):
Between him and the various people who educated him. This
is a pathetic, desperate, ugly moment from Major League Baseball,
and Rob Banford should be in bad.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
I'm reading it. I just saw the first announcement in
the official one letter to mister Rowe, the attorney for
mister rose Man for wrote quote, in my view, a
determination must be made regarding how the phrase permanently ineligible
should be interpreted in light of the purpose and policies
behind Rule twenty one, which are to one, protect the
game from individuals, to oppose a risk of the integrity
(11:21):
of the sport by prohibiting the participations I hit individuals. Okay,
that makes sense. He couldn't, he's not he's not alive,
to create a detern effect that reduces a likelihood of
future violations by others, and on and on and on. Well,
the deterrent is not there if you just are waiving it.
I guess for people, Joe, let me take a step
back with you. And because I know all joking aside,
(11:42):
we did talk about this last season. It's been one
of those polarizing topics for years with Pete Rose. Should
he be in the Hall of Fame or not the
all time hits leader. And I know you feel very
strongly about that for just for everybody in your mind,
what were the gambling us up but walkers. That's rue
why he shouldn't be in your mind.
Speaker 6 (12:03):
He bet on games and from in uniform that there's
a rule twenty one D. It's posted every single clubhouse.
Don't bet on baseball. You can't bet on baseball your
own team, the other team.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Other game.
Speaker 6 (12:14):
You can't bet on baseball, and you definitely can't bet
on games in which you are a participant, manager, umpire player.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
He broke that rule. He walked past that rule more.
Speaker 6 (12:24):
Than just about anybody in human history. Think about going
in and out of the clubhouse. Rose played third most.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Games all time.
Speaker 6 (12:31):
Then he managed another, you know, a few hundred games.
He saw that rule and he broke it. He didn't
just accidentally break it once. He broke it over and
over and over again.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
The rule, it's the one rule of baseball.
Speaker 6 (12:42):
You can't have the participants caring about anything other than
winning or losing that game for the sake of their team.
And the idea that well, he bet on his own team.
I don't care if he bet on his own team.
That means he's more likely to use his relief pitchers
a certain way that night, other than on a night
that he didn't use.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
This is we don't even want to have these conversation.
You can't have these conversations.
Speaker 6 (13:02):
You have to have the players not betting, the players
to manage the empires, having no financial interest in the game.
This is a fundamental thing of baseball. Baseball had a
huge gambling problem in the eighteen nineties, the nineteen hundreds
and the nineteen tens, and they came up with this
rule that basically said, and of course, you know the.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
White Sox.
Speaker 6 (13:20):
People still debate whether they threw the series or not,
but you know, it's pretty well known they took money.
And that wasn't that That was like the peak of
the gambling scandal for Major League Baseball. Major Baseball said,
we can never have this again. So various players were suspended.
Rose was suspended nineteen eighty nine by bartolet A. Bartlet
Jamadi was commissioner at the time. And permanent is permanent.
(13:42):
You are permanently ineligible because you broke the one rule.
People compare it to steroids. Nothing like steroid doesn't get
to the integrity of the competition. If somebody is taking steroids,
I know what they're trying to do. They're trying to
get better and win. I don't have that with gambling
on baseball. Baseball suspended a bunch of guys last year,
and this has been an ongoing conversation, largely because.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Cult is a strong word.
Speaker 6 (14:07):
But there are a lot of people who really love
Pete Rose, people who are maybe a little bit I
was a little young to to get Pete Rose, but
people maybe five ten, fifteen years younger older than me
loved Pete Rose. He was a icon, even though a
lot of it was just self aggrandizing nonsense.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
He was this beloved player.
Speaker 6 (14:24):
So there are people who were just their dead enders
about Rose that just want him in the Hall of Fame.
They want him in the Hall of Fame, they want
him off the eligibility list. And those people will now say, well,
you know, MLD isn't bed with gambling. Yes, MLD isn't
dead with gambling, which means you, sir, can bet on
the game, but it doesn't.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Mean the players can. The rules for the players and
the umpires and the management, all the.
Speaker 6 (14:43):
People in the game.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
That hasn't changed. They still can't go to draftings.
Speaker 6 (14:47):
And we know this because a year ago they suspended
the guy for life for betting on baseball. They spent
other guys for betting on his own teams games, and
then they spent a bunch of other guys are betting.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
On the game. The rules are still the same.
Speaker 6 (14:59):
Just because he is making money from baseball betting right
now doesn't mean players can bet on baseball. It doesn't
change anything about what Pete Rose did. Pete Rose broke
the one rule. He ate the punishment for the rule.
He did nothing over the next forty years, thirty five
years to make it.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
To make up for it. He was given opportunity after.
Speaker 6 (15:19):
You think Bud Sealing wouldn't have loved to say, you
know what, Pete, you've done everything right. We're gonna welcome
you back into the game. He would have loved to
have done that. He couldn't because Pepe Roe's never given
the opportunity to do so. This is Rob Manford being
a coward. I guess there was pressure for the president,
and I don't even want to really get into the
angle of that, but.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
It's just Rob Manfred, who I've excused.
Speaker 6 (15:40):
For a lot of the things that have happened over
baseball because he represents the owners in large part.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
This is an area where he does it. This is
an area where is basically free to do whatever he wants.
Speaker 6 (15:50):
And he's caving, and he's basically saying rule twenty one
d now has a backdoor?
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Has it out now?
Speaker 7 (15:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (15:59):
You know, maybe we won't force it to the extend.
Speaker 6 (16:01):
They went, No, you need Pete Rose to stay on
the permanently ineligible list as a lesson to every player
who comes to the clubhouse and who thinks about firing
up fandal, don't do it. You will be suspended forever, permanently.
You will ruin your entire baseball life. And if we
can suspend, if we can permanently ban Pete Rose, one
(16:23):
of the most popular players of the twentieth century, one
of the you know, truly a great I mean, not
an Inner Circle Hall of Famer, but he's a legitimate
Hall of famer, the all time hit king wrote his
namy for the line up to get there. But that's
a conversation for another day. But if we can suspend
Pete Rose, forever. We can certainly get you. So Pete
Rose's permanent ineligibility was the best deterrent baseball had against
(16:48):
the next scandal and the next scandal, and they gave
it that away today. I'm sorry, man, that was a
long no.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
I list, no wrong, don't strong, no, don't don't apologize.
I mean, that's your opinion. I'm gonna I'm gonna share
mind in second because mine's changed over the years. To
be honest with you, which is weird. But I do
want to mention Joshian joining us Joshi and Joshian newsletter
with us here we should mention it's brought to you
by and Joe's brought to you by our good friends
at Northwest Handling Systems. From Forklist to pallet racks, conveyors,
(17:14):
the loading dock equipment, we sell, rent and service all
your warehousing needs. Request a quote today at NWHS dot
com or give us a call four two five five
Z five hundred.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
I think when the last time we discussed this, I
had a different view of it, and not even a
different view, it was a less I guess, penal view.
I thought to myself, as all time hits leaders should
be in there and all that. I will say a year,
well probably a few months after that, Joe, I signed
a contract. I worked for the Seattle Craken for the
hockey team, a National Hockey League team, and I signed
(17:45):
a contract with them. I do their TV pre and
post and their intermissions on their television hosts for their
for their own network, to the network that they own.
And when I signed that contract, I went through it.
Like you know, most contracts that we have in our
business are fairly standard. But I went through it, and
because I had one thing I was curious about. My
show is sponsored by snow call me Casino. Shout out
(18:06):
to them. SnO Casino dot com hotel opening up this summer.
But that's who my show is sponsored by. We talk
about fantasy football.
Speaker 8 (18:11):
We do.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
You know, we don't do gambling segment per se, but
we do. You know, we're sponsored by a sports book
and a casino. Now, we have only tribal casino gambling
in our state. We don't have fan duel DraftKings that stuff.
You have to be on premise at the tribal casino
to wager on sports, but we do have it. I
bring that up for this reason. Joe I signed a contract.
When I look through that, I said, I better check
this out to see if there's any issues with the
(18:32):
show that I do every day being But I thought,
wait a second, the Crack can have on their front
jersey another casino, the Muckle Shoot. So no, probably not,
but I'll double check. There is one thing in there.
I cannot, as an employee of a National Hockey League team,
wager on, discuss or even talk about National Hockey League bets.
And I've had to explain that to people all the time.
(18:52):
They say, hey, what do you think tonight Cracking and blues?
You know what do you think over under?
Speaker 9 (18:57):
I can't.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
I can't tell you. I can't do it. And you
know what, I sure as hell would never risk what
is a really good job and be a career killer
to go do it. So my views change. I thought
before man, whatever, No, you know what, there's punishment, there's
prices you've got to pay when you're a dipstick, and
you know, like I I, and there's a reason for that.
(19:18):
He's a manager, He's a part of it. Like if
Joe you asked me, if you asked me tonight, Joe, say, hey, Joe,
what do you think Jets and Stars. I can't really
tell you. But here's the thing. I don't know. I'm
not in either, but I do know every morning who's
playing for the Kraken. I know, like our most mornings,
they'll give us an early like here's the lineup, here's
oh like wait a second, he's out tonight. That's interesting.
(19:40):
Of course there is. So there is a reason. My
point of all this, there is a reason. There is
a reason they don't allow you to wager on your
own sport, for professional sports, even if they're in bed
for that, there's a really distinct reason for that. It's
insider trading, Joe, is what it is. You can't do it,
and it's really simple, don't do it. Don't do it,
(20:01):
And I'm with you. I changed my mind over the
last seven eight months.
Speaker 6 (20:05):
Yeah, and that's that's because you've kind of had that
experience of hey, wait a minute, I have information that
the public doesn't, and I can take advantage of that,
and I don't want to do it because obviously, you know,
it's an issue of integrity, and you know I don't.
I can't go back to nineteen eighty seven and tell
you every bet rosemade John Dowd documented a lot of
it at the time, and you know who what pictures
were available that night, and but a manager's going to
(20:26):
know that stuffy and a player is going to I
think this is the issue with the with Tikopeza Marcano,
who is the Pirates utility player who was suspended last year.
You have access to information everybody else doesn't have, and
forget you. Maybe you're making your bets. I mean, you know,
let's say you lose fifty five bets in a row,
which you know I've certainly it's certainly possible.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Now now you owe this guy's twenty.
Speaker 6 (20:49):
Five grand, Well, how do you get that twenty five
grand back?
Speaker 3 (20:51):
You tell him.
Speaker 6 (20:52):
Who's not available out of the bullpen that night, and
now you've got a whole mess on your hands. All
of this is, all of this is eradicated if you
just That's why you need twenty one D to be
an absolute That's why it can't be Oh well, maybe
circumstances blah blah blah, it wasn't that biggest.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
No, it's a huge deal.
Speaker 6 (21:07):
It has to be a black line. It has to
be black letter law. You cannot do this. And what
MLB is basically said is that Pete Rose is bigger
than twenty one d And I this may just be
me as somebody who's you know, I can't remember a
time I didn't love baseball. You know, I'm fifty four,
you know, it's about the four years old going to
my first game, So fifty years and I always believe
(21:31):
that nobody was bigger than the game. And what Brod
Banford is saying today is that Pete Rose.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Is bigger than the game.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
Joshian joining us, Yeah, I'm with I mean, I grew
up watching the Big Red Machine that was, you know,
when I was a young guy, the Oakland A's with
Reggie and Vida and Sal and Catfish Hunter, et cetera,
and going against the Big Red Machine. So those are
like my favorite teams growing up. And so Pete Rose
had an iconic view or a iconic position in my world.
(21:58):
But yeah, there's things you can't do. I was just
thinking about this, like, if you allowed that to happen
for employees of sports right without punishment, you know, you
know who the guys that would have would could really
make the most money would be the trainers, the athletic
the medical staff of teams they know, Oh this guy's
pitching a night. Okay, I'm putting like, you know, like
they know, they know that stuff, and there's a reason
(22:21):
that all that is out there, and that's there's a
reason that there has been that. All right, let's let
let me want a couple of things. Josh and Joshian newsletter.
You're you're in New York. I guess they just announced it.
Oswald Ol Cabrera has a left ankle fracture. He's on
the ten day injured list, and hopefully that's it's going
to be longer than that, obviously, but hopefully it doesn't
(22:42):
ruin anything long term for him. I watched something last night, Joe.
We're watching this game last night. This young man must
be immensely popular in that clubhouse. I've never seen a
team win a game and look like they lost, and
that's what happened with the Yankees last night. That was
a horrible situation last night and what was a pretty
big win by the Yankees.
Speaker 6 (23:01):
He really is. He's actually been in the organization longer
than anybody other than Judge, so you know, he's been
part of this team, has been up and down in
the major leagues for for four years now. Finally really
got a clean chance at a job this year with
Jay who hurt incredibly popular guy.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Uh, yes, the injury, you know, I think about it.
Speaker 6 (23:19):
You know the cruise a couple of years ago, the
injured and he did this, had a similar.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
Injury in April.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
He was out for the year.
Speaker 6 (23:24):
Mostly I would be surprised if he played the rest
of the year. He just got to hope he come
back and kind of get back to his career in
twenty twenty six.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (23:32):
But yeah, just a brutal brew. I literally, you know,
I gotta tell you. I watched it once. I couldn't
watch it again.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
Yeah I didn't.
Speaker 6 (23:37):
I was was I was good, you know, up there
with the Joe Fisman and other injuries of the nature.
You really do feel bad for this was he was
finally getting a chance to play and getting a job
where you know, it's been up and down for him.
He hasn't really performed an other opportunities. He's playing better
this year and you just hate to see it. And
as you saw last night, this team is a very
(23:59):
popular guy because of his life, of the organization, everybody
knows him. Just a brutal thing to say I mean,
I guess they talk about the baseball aspects of it.
You know, Jordan Vivas, so I guess is going to
get a lot of the playing time, and eventually Laveo
comes back and we'll see they make a trade. But
I mean, just from a interpersonal standpoint, it felt that
(24:19):
for him, and felt that for the for the teammates
who loved so much.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
I thought, yeah, I thought, Joe, that was what kind
of jumped out of me. There's you know, sometimes we
just forget the human element of pro sports, right and
I was on display last night. The Mariner players were
obviously shaking up for it as well. Cal Raley especially,
who was right there. He was. He motioned right away
to the dugout. He knew it was bad and kind
of walked away and and and all that. But you know,
(24:42):
just watching everybody and what I mean, a hell of
an effort by the kid. The run meant nothing, really,
it meant nothing, and he still made the massive effort
and ends up costing him dearly in that regard. We
watched that game last night, My god, four times on
base for Aaron Judge and he's the only guy that
didn't hit a ball out of the ballpark, like this
guy's this guy, what's he doing this year?
Speaker 7 (25:02):
Joe?
Speaker 1 (25:03):
It just it feels historical in the making.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
I saw a note earlier.
Speaker 6 (25:07):
I don't have the numbers in front of you, but
he's he's crushing pitches in the zone in a way
that he hasn't Previously. His in zone contact rate was
like eighty percent. Now it's up to about eighty five percent,
which is it sounds like a small difference, but it's
enough to make all the difference between being typical Aaron
Judge and you know, crazy Aaron Judge. I think it's
interesting because he's hitting four fourteen. I believe that for
(25:30):
last night, and we don't think about guys like Judge
chasing four hundred, but it's actually more likely a guy
like he does it because between the walks and the
home runs, he takes a lot of that that plate
appearance is out of play. So you know, it's going
two for five is not that hard. Going four for
ten is harder. Going you know, forty for one hundred
(25:52):
is harder than that.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
So by hitting.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
Balls over the fence and by walking, he's reducing the
number of times he actually has to get a hit
on a ball and plus, so I'm not saying he's
gonna geit four hundred. The shape of his performance makes
him more likely to do so than you might otherwise think.
We think about you know, Ria's made a run a
couple of years ago. You think about Win or George Bretton,
you know, georgere it's a good example.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
George Readant a.
Speaker 6 (26:14):
Bunch of homers and walks out here. He also missed
a bunch of times. But Judge is a guy who
might get there by only having maybe four hundred and
eighty at bats, but walking one hundred and ten times
and hitting you know, fifty five sixty home runs that
you go fifty five or fifty five off. It's really
been fun to watch, and you know, there was adjacent.
(26:35):
Stark had a really good piece putting Judges running in
the context of all the great right handed hitters in
baseball history. He concluded that Judge might be the best
right handed hitter ever. Albert pruhol sans wropping arms about
that understandably, But that's.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
What we're talking about here.
Speaker 6 (26:48):
How often do we get to talk about you might
be one of the greatest steps and what Judge has
gone over the last four years has put him in
that conversation.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
And I think the amazing thing too is how how
long he is, Like sometimes longer swings and stuff for
a little bit harder, and for him to hit for
the average he is is just it's remarkable. They play
again tonight in Seattle, and they play again tomorrow. Mariner fans,
get out and watch this guy, because I think you
might be watching history in the making. Certainly you're watching
maybe the best baseball player not named show hey playing
right now, and that maybe you could be debated as well.
(27:17):
All right, before I let you go, you wrote about streaks.
Our Mariner has been streaking nine straight series win. Then
they get swept by the Blue Jays at home. They
lose the first one of the Yankees. Joe panic is
setting in everything we thought about this team's coming true.
If the pitching staff's not healthy, they're in trouble. They
can't hit enough to save them. Walk Mariner fans off
the ledge.
Speaker 6 (27:36):
Please, Well, I mean, you know, you're never as good
as you look, and when you're winning nine in a row,
you're never as bad as you look when you are
losing four in to row. But I think there's reasons
that they concerned about the rotation. You know, we saw
a haycock. It lasted last night. It looks like it's
never gonna happen for him. I'm more concerned about the
day before Bryce Miller. The command just isn't there this year.
Twelve percent walk right everything. If you look at these
(27:58):
great pages on baseball and you look at pitchers and
bit heat maps and show you where is he throwing
this particular pitch, and you look from last year to
this year, and Miller's just a totally different guy in
terms of last year, everything was kind of clustered at
a certain area, and this year he's just all over
the map. He just doesn't have the command of those pitches.
So of course they've been down Kirby, they've been down Gilbert.
(28:19):
This team that was supposed to be built around starting
pitching is now really built about it around the offense
and the bullpen.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
And the offense and the bullpen are.
Speaker 6 (28:25):
Both good, but man, you can't be giving up seven
runs a game. Your starters can't be putting you and
holes this big and have you hold on.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
So panic.
Speaker 6 (28:33):
No, I'm not going to panic if they don't get
Gilbert and Kirby back. Yeah, maybe a little bit, because
I as much as the offense has been really good
this year, I just don't think you're gonna get it
done with the starting rotation being what it is right now.
They need those two guys back.
Speaker 1 (28:48):

Speaker 1 (31:36):
Anyway, we move on, all right. A couple of things
for our daily power play right here, a nice three

Speaker 2 (31:42):
As long as you don't mention the team from.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
We'll mention that Daily power Play by Iaquahana. The largest

(32:06):
the answer is yes, all right. Two things.
Speaker 7 (32:10):
One.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Yeah, last night, a couple teams moved within one game
of clinching a playoff series. Carolina knocking off the Capitols
and the Great Eight who's been not so great in
this series. Five to the final. Carolina leading the series
three games to one.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
And when you don't have empty nets to score on,
it's hard to score goals.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
Meanwhile, north of the border, in the city of champions,
provincial capital of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Bilers three nights nothing.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
No one. They have one score last night, Yes, I
thought you meant the series.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Series is three to one. Heading back to Vegas, your
guy Stuart Skinner comes in and gets a shutout made
maybe two staves that.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
Matter where he says, yeah, well.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
One uping game. He excited to break away, which is huge,
But that was about it.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
Can you guess the goaltender with the lowest save percentage
and all of the playoffs in twenty twenty five with
the lowest lowest Skinner He's second lowest.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Okay, hang on, is it picker?
Speaker 3 (33:23):
No?
Speaker 1 (33:24):
Okay, hellun oh yeah, that's not surprise. Uh yeah, no. Actually,
you know what's funny is Picker Pickard had a game
the other night. This is where save percentage doesn't matter.
This is this is your batting average number. I like
say percentage. I think sometimes it's pretty good. Yeah. You know,
somebody dumps a puck in, you get say a save.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Right. The Pickard had the game the other night where
he was hurt and he played hurt the final well
into overtime. Hasn't middle plays since, right, The same percentage
of that game is like eighty five eighty six, which
ninety is not average is average or good? So it
was not a good game saved potential wise. He was
(34:06):
unbelieve he's a difference the game. Yeah, absolutely flat out
the difference of the game. So okay. The other news
coming out of the NHL that is noteworthy here in Seattle, Washington, Washington,
Darren Drager TSN is reporting the following, uh oh, this
was this from this morning. Strong indications this week Rick
(34:29):
Hockett will soon land another NHL head coaching job. I
would add to that, thanks tips, But he goes on
to say, Philly, Boston, Seattle believed it being the top contenders.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
Philadelphia as well, right thrown in there.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
Philly, Boston, Seattle, Yeah, we'd be I'm on the top contenders.
The Flyers want to be aggressive, good fit there. Others
have said Seattle is at the front of the head
of the class. There's been rumors that he's been offered
a job in Seattle. Lots of rumors out there, and
there's a lot of rumors, rumor mill is, lots of rumors.
I don't think anything's imminent, is what I'm understanding out
(35:06):
here in Seattle. Like, I don't think we've got a
news conference coming in the next one or two days.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Why do you think that is if they really wanted
him when they just decided to do it now.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
I don't know. If I don't, I don't know if
I don't think i'd buy the fact that he's been
offered the job, okay, And I just I don't say
that with any outsider information. I just don't. I don't
think you offer a guy a job unless you think
he's going to take the job. So I don't know
if that's happened yet. And I do think that there
(35:36):
is a little bit. I think there's a little bit
to the thought that maybe, just maybe they want to
talk to somebody still in the playoffs who's not a
head coach, and I think at the top of the list.
And I could be incredibly wrong with this. This is
a shot in the dark. Now, I'm gonna say it's
(35:57):
more than that, Okay. I think that beton guy, Mitch
Love is he's gonna get job opportunities and they're almost
done the Caps. We just mentioned that he's an assistant
coach with the Capitals. I think Mitch Love, who coached
and played in Everett with the Tips right and in
the dub and is from British Columbia. I think in
(36:18):
Carberry as well. Yeah, it might have been I think so.
But I think Mitch Love is going to get a
job this year. May not be like I think Seattle
is a better job than some like Chicago and maybe
even Philly. I think Boston is not a very good
job right now. They don't know what the hell they're doing.
But I think Mitch Love is going to get job interviews,
(36:39):
possible opportunities, and they may be waiting to talk to
him here in Seattle.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
Interesting.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
He's he's thought to be kind of the guy, up
and coming guy, so I like mitch Man. Boy, it'd
be awesome. That'd be an awesome hire here. I think
I just just knowing the person and knowing the track
he's taken to get to where he is right now.
So we'll see. Okay, that's it we did. Okay. John

I'm sure you were yelling and screaming last night, Warriors losing,
the lottery is fixed and all that other stuff. How
(39:41):
are you, buddy?
Speaker 4 (39:42):
Yeah boy, They're a lot going on today between Pete
roase and lottery fixings and Oh my god, it's unbelievable.
You know, it's not only that Dallas got the number
one pick, basically the NBA saying thank you for putting
Luca in La and we'll give you the number one pick,
which is Cooper Flag. But if you look at the teams,
it's so blatant. If you look at the teams that
had the best opportunity three chances, three teams had a
(40:05):
fourteen percent chance. Utah small market, NBA doesn't care, Charlotte
small market, NBA doesn't care. In Washington, who knew they
even had a team. So the three teams that had
the best chance to win, actually Charlotte got four, Utah
got five, Washington got six, and the team that had
the fourth bets chance New Orleans, who knew they had
a team. They they had the They had the fourth
(40:27):
best chance after those teams at twelve and a half percent,
and they got They got seventh. So the teams are
the best four chances got four, five, six, and seven.
And Dallas, who just happened to trade Luka Dongets to
the Lakers, much to the Lakers much of the delight
of the NBA, gets the first pick at one point
eight percent. You can't tell me it's not fixed. This
is definitely conspiracy that is fixed, fixed, fixed, and fixed.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
Well, this is the sal I don't know if it's fixed.
I think it's broken. Like it's definitely broken, totally bro
it's totally broke, like the fixing God in today's world
if that came out. But here's the thing, this is
what's broken. So twenty teams make it to the NBA
playoffs because the play in stuff that they do. Dallas
was technically a playoff team this season. Why do they
(41:15):
even have a one point eight percent chance of getting
the number one overall pick. They had a winning record
at home, They were twenty two and eighteen at home,
and they get the number one overall pick. Phoenix, Portland,
San Antonio, New Orleans, Utah, Toronto, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Charlotte, and Washington.
Those ten teams should be the only ten teams that
(41:35):
have a shot to win the lottery. That's a simple fix, John.
But god forbid, what the NBA ever do that?
Speaker 6 (41:42):
No?
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Like, no, no.
Speaker 4 (41:43):
Because they want you and I have had this conversation
before it because they won it on both ends. They
want those teams because technically Dallas didn't make the playoffs
because they played in a one and done game, which
is what the NBA is trying to create to get
you into the playoffs. Like eighty two games isn't enough
to decide who is actually good enough to get in
the playoff. Yeah, like that's not enough. So we got
to get a one game or oh we got to commit,
(42:04):
you know, we got to have this one and done,
you know, win or go home situation. So Dallas then
loses in that win's the first one loses in that,
and they go home and now they get it being
the draft lottery, And like I said, it just stinks
of it. And if people don't, if you know, it's
it's such a great fantasy that sports is on the
up and up, but nothing is in our world businesses
and politics isn't. I'm sorry to inform this of everybody,
(42:25):
but I just I just don't think sports is the
only thing it's on the up and up. And I
just it's not only like I said, that Dallas gets
it with a one point eight percent chance, but it's
the fact that those teams that the league doesn't care
about in Utah and Charlotte and places like that, who
just they don't care. They don't generate ratings, they don't
generate revenue, they don't generate interest, and so what happens
(42:46):
is they they don't care about them, and they give
them the worst picks. Utah has never had the first pick.
There are atrocious and like you just said, they they
made this this whole situation because I'll just say it,
they made this whole situation because they didn't want teams
to tank. So the worse is this worse than tanky?
Of course it is. It's just it's ridiculous and very
very soon, Uh, those in Seattle whiel carey because if
(43:09):
somebody like is somebody in Seattle going to steal the
Blazer from Paul Allen or they're not gonna come to
but you're gonna get, but you're gonna get expansion team.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
Right, Yeah, we'll get to that. Scah, we'll get to
that a second. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. By the way, Utah,
maybe they're saving Utah. This is the only way. This
is where Okay, this is where I'm gonna say, I'm
gonna believe it's fixed if this is the following happens
next year. So Utah didn't get the basically generational number
one overall draft pick from Duke white guy in Utah,
(43:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (43:44):
I don't know if you can call Caucasian players other
than Larry Bird, what was it. Larry's clear, exactly clear,
he's not white, but Claire's. But I don't know if
I don't know, if a guy coming from Duke with
the history of Danny Ferry and Christian Lagner. But okay,
we'll do.
Speaker 1 (44:00):
Exactly So that guy, which was the perfect Utah fit
in every way, shape or form, was Everyone's not that,
So that doesn't happen, Okay, So okay, I'm gonna say
I'll go into its fixed if the following happens. If
next year, Utah somehow stumbles up to the number one
(44:22):
overall pick, which they will be in it because they're
not going to go to the playoffs. Sorry David, Sorry,
locked on, it ain't gonna happen if if they if
they if they get the number one overall picked next year,
I'm gonna believe it's a fix because the number one
overall pick next year might be the kid it was
an aj Dia Bansta, the kid from this going to
(44:44):
b yu the number one player in the country. Going
to somehow going to b yu. Like really, I then John,
are you dancing with me?
Speaker 5 (44:53):
Now?
Speaker 1 (44:54):
Like that's that's then it's a fix.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
Yeah, I just I just all I'm saying is and
I hate to say this, I really do, but so
many things are weird. I just I don't think everything's
on the up and up, but I just think it's
way too coincidental yesterday of a team that just is
you know, and remember, people forget about this because they
think of Dallas as football, football, football, and I worked
there and it is. They hardly know that the Mavericks exists.
But it still is the fourth largest media market in
(45:17):
the country. It's a big media market. So you know,
they're they're given Dallas something. So that Nico Harrison, I mean,
you know, and I hate giving guy. You know, he's
a total buffoon, and then they give him the number
one pick. But anyway, that's beside the point. But anyway,
I you know, I'm excited Seattle's gonna get basketball, seem
but it won't be the Blazers, but still they're gonna
get basketball back. And this will be relevant to people
(45:38):
very soon.
Speaker 1 (45:38):
Okay, I want to And that's why I kind of
want to joke about it with it day. I want
to play some sound. It's a minute long, so I'm
sorry you got to listen to it, but it's it's
a minute I want because I think it's good for
you and Gie. Again for contact. John and I we
bust each other's chops, have a lot of fun. We
worked in Salt Lake together, both did jazz stuff through
and through all the way through with the NBA. Then
we both worked in Portland at separate times. Basically, he
(45:59):
took his job when he left and he didn't get
and no, we did not get fired. You actually went
for bigger to a bigger market.
Speaker 3 (46:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
But we've been around this NBA thing for a while.
We talked about it all the time. When when the
announcement was made today that Jody Allen well basically that
the trust is selling the Blazers A people were ecstatic
down there and I'll let you comment on that in
a second, but they were thrilled. They just I mean Paul.
I think Paul was a great NBA owner. He's the
(46:26):
best owner we've ever had in Seattle for any franchise
and that we've ever had, and he was a Seahawks
owner I think he was a great NBA owner because
he didn't give a blank about spending money if it
costs money. Now, they didn't win a championship, I know,
but it was never through lack of trying. I think
you'd agree with that, Like they'd spend he didn't care.
Since he passed away, it's been a gong show down there.
Jody doesn't care, Bert doesn't care. They don't care about that.
(46:48):
They care about the NF. Hell, they're in the NFL
draft room with the Seahawks the last two weeks, so
that's what they care about. So they're thrilled. You mentioned
the Blazers being for sale, John, and you know immediately
you see people that have no clue. You know, you
were joking about it, but they're still like, oh, well
they sell sho just buy the Blazers, move them up there,
blah blah blah. All that right, the buildings attached to
the team, it's not going to happen.
Speaker 9 (47:09):
We're not.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
No one's going to do that. My concern, John was
this Adam Silver seems to have a really difficult time
multitasking because every time someone asked him about his expansion,
he's like, well, we got to get the CBA done. Okay,
that's done. Well, we got to get a Metea right
steal done. Okay, that's done. Well, I'll got to get
the Celtic sale done. That's done. I get the Tea
Walls sale done, that's done. Well, now the Blazers are
(47:30):
for sale. So I'm thinking to myself, can this guy
multitask John?
Speaker 4 (47:36):
No, you know, that's a great question. And look, he
doesn't really have anything to do with those kind of things.
I mean, he can rubber stamp it at the end
and all those kind of things, but again, he's an overseer.
He's more into TV deals and making more revenue and
finding new revenue. He's a businessman, and so, like you said,
he really doesn't have to be involved in those things.
And I find it really impossible to believe. And let's
just throw the quality of the product aside, because I'm
(47:58):
sure people in Seattle still watch the NBA, but it
is a, I believe, a far cry from what it's been.
It's jacking up threes, jacking up threes and jacking up
more threes. But you still want it to be in
your town because Seattle fans deserve it. I mean, the
Sonics never obviously deserve to be yanked out of there
by Oklahoma City, and that's a whole different story. But
the reality of it is is that, you know, you
(48:19):
look at that whole situation Vegas and Seattle. Add those
two teams the West coast. To me, like I'm looking
at where I sait Okay with the Warriors, the Kings
are a complete joke and they're not really much of
a rival the Blazers, like you said, that's a great
word for it. They've been a gone show forever. We
don't have the rivalries in the West that they do
in the East. You know, you're looking at the Nicks
and the Celtics, and it's unfortunate what happened with Jason Tatum,
(48:40):
but those people are all jacked up back there. We
don't have that. You know, it's the Lakers versus everybody
in the West. That's basically what it is. But we
have to kind of contrive these kind of things they
need to get Seattle back in the NBA. Vegas is
an inevitability. But I can tell you this that when
Lebron James retires and he starts pushing for Vegas, you know,
for a Vegas franchise in the NBA, it's going to
(49:00):
get done. So exactly what you just talked about of
dragging their feet with Seattle. What's going on here today?
What do they need in terms of getting this pushed along?
Because I can guarantee you because I know this, because
I've talked to people about it. When Lebron wants to
put pedal to the metal and get the NBA to Vegas,
it's going to happen. So who's going to do that
for Seattle?
Speaker 1 (49:17):
So apparently Silver just spoke where was this from? Anders?
Serious XM, serious ExM whatever? Okay, shout out to serious ExM.
It's about a minute long, and I'm going to listen
to it for the first time. You're gonna listen to
it for the first time. John, Let's both try to
kind of translate what he says. Here's Adam Silver.
Speaker 10 (49:34):
We have a NBA board meeting in July in Las Vegas,
and my sense is it will be on the agenda
to discuss with full ownership now for the thirty teams
to get directly the existing owners' views on potential expansion
and how we would begin furthering the study of all
(49:57):
the implications and then get a sen of the level
of interest from certain markets. And look, obviously, I know
there's tremendous interests in Seattle. I know there's tremendous interest
in Las Vegas and several other cities as well. That
whether I've read about the interest or you know, have
heard indirectly from others. Just to be clear, we haven't
(50:18):
begun any sort of process. So even to the extend
cities have reached out, we've said, thank you for your interest,
but we're not ready to take meetings yet and and
and have more in depth discussions. But we will have
that opportunity early this summer again to talk to all
the different ownership groups in the NBA and get a
sense what do you think.
Speaker 4 (50:37):
That's a flat out lie, flat falls it is. He
hasn't talked to Lebron, they haven't talked about Vegas, they
haven't talked to Seattle, they haven't talked about Seattle. You know,
here's what they here's what they honestly need to do.
Because as I'm listening to that, the one thing is
all the owners care about. You can expand everything out
(50:57):
to one hundred teams. They don't care. The only thing
that matters. And again, I'm sorry to be a realist
in this whole thing, but it is the reality of
it is. Sports is the sheep that covers up the wolf.
The wolf is the business. They just want to know
about the money. So if you're an owner, will vote
for anything at LA as long as it puts more
money in their pockets. So tell me how it's gonna
put more money in my pocket. And to me, he
(51:18):
just wlides straight to his teeth. They've talked to Vegas.
They're gonna that's gonna be a turnkey operation there. It
should be the same in Seattle. What they really need
to do in the NBA. You don't have to expand
what I just said. You don't need a team in Charlotte.
No one cares. You don't need a team in our
nation's capital. No one cares, Like, let's look at the
health of the teams that are existing. But what you
(51:39):
mean an ownership group in Seattle. Seattle has has earned
that it should be first on the agenda. He's acting
like this is just starting. We're just starting the process.
We haven't really talked about it, we haven't really come on, man,
just cut to the chase to talk about money, like
what is it gonna what kind of revenue is going
to be generated? And then all the owners will be
on board and they can't wait to a new teams.
(52:00):
But if you can't get new teams, which you can,
then there is plenty of interest. And that just means
you're bringing more markets in, which is more money, and
that you can sell to the to the to the
you know, the new platforms, and there's a million new platforms,
so it's not like you're lacking here. You know, TV's
going down, but all these other platforms that we see
in the NFL every single week, there's more money there.
(52:21):
So there's obviously more money where you are. What are
you talking about? Like, he's incredible. How can I don't
know how you could lie straight through your teeth like
that because it's already been done, Like Vegas is done.
Vegas is done. They have ownership group Seattle. You know
this better than I do. But I mean, I mean,
it's like, let's go, what is he talking to He's
acting like this is like the first conversation that this
(52:42):
is the first time it's ever been brought up, Like,
what are you talking about?
Speaker 1 (52:45):
When he says that he hasn't taken taken meetings like that,
Like that's not true, that's totally not true, Like like
how dumb does he think people? But it's it's my
concern is he's going to kick it down the road
again because he just said we have now that we
have full ownership for thirty teams. You don't because as
(53:05):
you were doing that early this morning, a press release
was being sent out that the Blazers are for sale.
Speaker 4 (53:10):
Right, It's always going to be something, you know what
I mean, Like it's kind of like life in general,
Like you plan for certain things, Okay, we're going to
do it. When this finishes, then something else always comes up.
Like that's just how life works. So of course you
can multitask. Of course they've had meetings. Of course they're
down the road. The thing that hasn't happened, and this
is just how sports works in general, is they haven't
(53:31):
worked out what he should have said is and nobody
likes to hear this. We haven't worked out the financial parameters.
We haven't told the owners how much more of the
pie they're going to get and how much gold more
gold is going to go in their pockets, because that's
all that matters once the finances are done and once
the owners know how much money they're more they're going
to get, and how much more these platforms, you know,
(53:51):
the Primes and the Netflix and all these other different
things are going to cop up. Then they're going to
be down with it. It's just a matter of that,
and then everything else is details after how much more
money am I going to make?
Speaker 1 (54:02):
I wonder the price is, like, what the price is
going to be because because for expansion, because so I'm
just looking. I'm looking at recent sales. Boston Celtics were
six point one billion, Phoenix was four billion, Brooklyn three
point three, Houston two point two. Those are the last.
Speaker 4 (54:21):
Wars are worth ten Utahs are worth.
Speaker 1 (54:23):
Ten Utah is one point six. Yeah, the Wars are
worth ten million right now.
Speaker 4 (54:26):
Yeah, So the owners of the Warriors about right when
Steph arrived, there was a guy named Chris Cohen. He
was a total bonehead, and he sold the Warriors for
four hundred and fifty million dollars. This is like twenty eleven,
and they're worth ten billion. So you cannot tell me
that that there's not value in owning these teams. It's
it's through the roof, it's not NFL, you know, it's
(54:47):
it's definitely not NFL. And you know, I don't know
what baseball is right now, but there's a lot of
value known in these teams. And for Adam Silver to
come out and say those kind of things, I mean,
you're looking at valuations that are yes, astronomical right now,
and so to get into the league, Oh my god,
multi billion?
Speaker 1 (55:05):
Well t wwl's one point five billion, right, that was
in February twenty twenty five, Celtics, like I said, with
six that's the highest one by a significant Now, those
are ones that have been sold, Like you said, there
might be valuate like the Lakers. You know, who knows
what they're worth on those games? Yeah, those but the
ones that have been sold anywhere from one and a
half to two billion, Utah Jazz and Ryan Smith bottom
one point six million as well. So I mean billion,
(55:29):
I should say. So, I'm curious what the price tag
will be. It can't be Celtics price tag, but it
ain't gonna be one point five billion either, right, So
that's that's the other thing.
Speaker 4 (55:40):
God gotta be at least a couple of billion.
Speaker 1 (55:41):
I would think maybe five four or five.
Speaker 4 (55:44):
I mean, I know that sounds yeah, I mean, I
know that sounds outrageous, but you're gonna meet somewhere in
the middle. Like you just said, I mean, Utah is
a smaller market team, but like I said, the valuation
for what the you know, what the Warriors are worth
right now, and like you said, the Celtics are good comps.
I mean you're probably looking at you know, five billion
dollars and even a guy, you know, Lebron James, I mean,
(56:04):
he's made a boatload of money. But there's a huge
difference between somebody and the NBA who's made what they've
made and these guys who are really rocking the cash
and have to deal with this. So yeah, I mean
I would think and that's what I mean. I guess
that's that's my point in all this is that the
owners are going to get a piece of you know,
two franchises that are going to come into the league,
just for our sake of conversation here at around ten
billion dollars combined, plus the amount of money that you
(56:27):
can get from the platforms and all these other things,
so you know, it's it's a gold mine. I guess
what they haven't done. Is they haven't gotten to the
bean counters enough to give them an exact number because
the owners would be jumping out of their shoes. What
other things? Because he mentioned it's going to be on
the agenda, what's more important than that? Like how much
more money? That's the number one money maker is adding
(56:48):
two more teams to your roster. That would be the
biggest thing financially that you could do in a positive way.
So why would you put anything ahead of that?
Speaker 1 (56:57):
Yeah, we're just kind of it's just the waiting game
just continues and continues and continues, and but we'll see.
We'll see in July and uh and what happens all right?
John Lund Unleashed You can find it wherever you get
any of your live podcast? Are you on YouTube?
Speaker 4 (57:15):
Yeah? You know me, I'm a very attractive man, and
so I couldn't just you know, just be on a
podcast because it's you know, you've got to see my
face and so yeah, hold YouTube channel.
Speaker 1 (57:25):
Really really, I don't.
Speaker 4 (57:26):
It's all channel and it's called John Lennon Bason. If
you're checking out, that'd be nice. You don't have to
agree with what I'm saying. And I know that a
lot of people from Seattle have jumped in because they're like,
you suck, and then I are suck and I hate
you and Ian's the best, and I get some of that.
Speaker 1 (57:42):
You know, you never get a little bit of that.
Speaker 4 (57:43):
You never you never get No, I never get that.
You never. I do get I do get on from
Seattle and we heard you on the show, and he's
very mediocre, but I don't get it the best.
Speaker 1 (57:55):
Go troll him, Go troll line John Lennon, he least
he loves when you stuff in the comments during his
live show. He's very easily distracted by the way it does,
like it does a segment where he's distracted, So that's
even better. So go do that.
Speaker 4 (58:08):
Go bust ady D kind of stuff, ad D kind
of stuff. We'll have to get to more next week
because uh, yeah, there's.
Speaker 1 (58:13):
A there's a lot of Yeah he's back, finally he's back.
Speaker 4 (58:18):
It was a lifetime band and he's dead, so I
guess that.
Speaker 1 (58:21):
I guess it kind of was a lifetime band, to
be honest with you when you think about it in
that regard. And there's you're on YouTube now, too, aren't you.
Speaker 2 (58:27):
I am Par's postgame shows.
Speaker 1 (58:29):
Come check it out there, you go. Everyone's on YouTube
except for me, all right, and there's a reason for that.
Speaker 4 (58:35):
You're you're on team, You're on the real thing. You're
on the tube. You're on the actual tube.
Speaker 1 (58:38):
Really nobody wants to Nobody wants to see that either.
So it's uh fake my way through the first year.
We'll see if we can do it another year. All right,
all right, buddy, take care. I'll talk to you next week. John,
go find it out wherever you find all your stuff
out there, YouTube, Instagram, x where it's all podcast. He
does a great show. He doesn't. It's awesome a he
does a really good show. All right, we'll take the text.
(59:00):
Four nine, four to five one.
Speaker 7 (59:01):
Next broadcasting live from the R and R Foundation Specialist
Broadcast Studio. Now back to Ian Fornez, powered by Seaddam's
Closest Sports Book, Snow Call Me Casino on Sports Radio
ninety three point three kJ R FM.
Speaker 1 (59:30):
Alrighty, ladies and gentlemen, Anders, what'd you think of David's
of David Stearns, David Stern, we all we all think
of David. What do you think of Adam Silver's comments?
Speaker 10 (59:43):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (59:44):
Kind of nothing, burger to me? It's just sounds like
more of the same what he's been doing for a
long time, trying to kind of just delay. And I
don't know if it's his directive to not get people excited,
and even though we all know that these things are
moving along, even though it's slowly. Yeah, I just I
don't understand why you can't say more. I don't, I
(01:00:06):
really don't.
Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
Let's uh, let's get to text four nine four or
five to one, and this is the unrestricted free agent
text line four nine four or five one. Two weeks
of good baseball, and every Maritor fan in this town
is delusional against is a three to six. So still
the worst organization the history of sports, still cursed. You
(01:00:28):
know what's interesting about the worst organization the history of sports.
We just spent about twenty minutes with lund. I'm gonna
go with probably about eight or nine teams in that
league that would fit that bill, and then I'll go
through Major League Baseball. Let's just go through the NBA
for a second, shall we. Yeah, let's find the worst
organizations in sports. Here's a fun exercise of god. Let
(01:00:51):
me start with the NBA, The Wizards, Yeah, the Hornets.
I'm not gonna go Utah because Ryan Smith is their owner,
and he's what I've seen him do with the hockey team.
He's good, all right, and they're my team there. I
like Utah my whole place. But I'm gonna go Wizards, Hornets, Pelicans, MAVs.
(01:01:15):
Just lucky. Yeah right, yeah, let's see.
Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
That's one title though, and they always put in money.
Speaker 1 (01:01:22):
But that was with Mark Cuban. You don't know him anymore,
that's true. Let's go through Major League Baseball, shall we
for a second. If we want to go through the
worst organizations in sports, I think you've got to go
a long way before you get to our baseball team.
Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
And we like, we're not cutting him slack or anything
like that.
Speaker 1 (01:01:39):
It's just Colado Rockies are seven and thirty four. They
have a run differential of minus one hundred and twenty
nine after forty one games.
Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
When the last time they made the playoffs, I don't know.
They gotta be like twenty ten or something like that.
Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
Let's continue. Pittsburgh Pirates don't want to spend money. If
you just ask Joe, I'll ask Jog you know what,
remind me next week? I'll ask Joe. She Joe Pittsburgh. Alright,
go it'll be it'll be as bad as Pete Rose.
All right, well let's see. Let's continue here. How about
the sacra Vegas, Linda's Boom, Chicago White Sox ladies in gentlemen.
Yeah right, I mean, come on, I know everyone's frustrated
(01:02:15):
by the baseball team. I get that. I understand it.
Don't give me this or the worst organization is sports.
The worst organization of sports doesn't doesn't have borderline franchise players,
Cal Rawley, Julio Rodriguez, the pitching staff that they have. Now,
if you want to talk about one of the worst
ownership groups in sports, I'll dance with you there. Yes,
(01:02:38):
but top to bottom, I mean the baseball sides they're okay, yeah,
and their marketing and promotions. It's just the ownership. Yeah,
So worst organization is all encompassing. Yeah, let's not go
down that bro yep, Okay, what else you got going on?
NBA keeps pushing backs as the four two five, the
goal post on expansion so over it now, screw them.
(01:02:58):
It's too late for me to carry to it won't
be when they come back. You'll care, trust me. Yeah,
how about Chris Hansen purchases the Trailblazers and builds his
own arena. That's from the two h six. Well, the
Blazer sale price is going to be interesting. He won't
be building his own arena. They've got an arena attached
to it. It's a weird dynamic of who owns it
and who doesn't, but they kind of own it. They
(01:03:22):
run it, they've got a long lease. Well, I think
we'll get Dwight on tomorrow and talk about that maybe.
Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
All right.
Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
I think it's an interesting because I think whatever that
price is is going to help set the price for here. Yeah,
it's gonna be more here for expansion. That will be
for whatever they get, but it's still there. Lond equals
best segment of the week, and you all do a
ton of great weeklies. Thanks Quinn.
Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
Appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (01:03:43):
Appreciate that. Regarding the Sonics, and I've been here for
a while now, I'm done being excited about any news
regarding their return until there's an official announcement with an
official date. I'll be in tears the day that announcements made.
But until then, I have no more energy for clickbait headlines.
Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
That's fair.
Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
I kind of feel you there. When when when Andrews
and Jackson said, hey, we've got sound from David or
from Adam Silver Sorry the same person. Yeah, honestly they're
the same person. Well when he said that, I was like, oh, okay,
and I'm kind of with you. It's kind of a
nothing burger. Yeah, right, kind of nothing burger. Okay to
(01:04:22):
do oiler three nights, nothing last night and anders give
us a go oiler.
Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
Never in my life. Well I say that those two words. Yeah,
I was a little all we're going down fan bases
that we hate. I was a little ticked off that
Softy and Dick with their bracket failed to put the
Astros in there. Like, I don't understand how that's not
the first team you put in there. Okay, maybe you
hate Oregon a lot. I see, I know you have
(01:04:48):
a rivalry at the Niners. How is the cheating Division
rival Astros with a just hutred fan base not in
that bracket. I don't understand.
Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
Sorry, little mini rant there, Mini rants are fine. Two
six geez Joe have some passion. I love the rant.
I was on the fence with the news he may
have swung me sounds like, well, I just kind of
came to realize a little bit. In fact, this is
in a good text from two five three. I'm a
sideline camera guy for the Seahaws and the Sounders for
the past fifteen years. We sign a form every season
and we're not allowed to gamble on any sport.
Speaker 9 (01:05:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:05:21):
I was talking to a part time Seahawk employee last
week in an event and she was telling me, Yeah,
she can't do anything in terms of sports, and she's
part time, right, and has I'm telling you right now
what she does. She has no insider knowledge. We when
you work for a team as a broadcaster, you you
(01:05:44):
don't even have to be a practice or in a
locker room or on a team plane. But you know,
we we have access just for a prep work and
stuff to do. So so I'd get that much less
if you're the manager of the baseball team. So yeah,
I've I've kind of I've come all the way around. Yeah,
I mean, it's dumb because he's the all time hitler,
and you know, but that's he he made that bad, right.
Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
I also, like I don't fully understand like the aura
behind him. I know a lot of people really really
like watching him play baseball.
Speaker 1 (01:06:10):
Charlie Hustle and all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
Yeah, but I don't get that he kind of I
don't know. I'm not gonna speak all the dead but
not understood that.
Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
What I want to say, if Adam Silver actually wanted
to successfully launch a team in this market, thing, we
try to repair all the burnt bridges here. Instead, he
adds more gasling to the fire every chance he gets.
I don't know if I would ever sport any NBA
team or consistently watch ever again, I see those listen
when they come back inside. If when they come back,
(01:06:40):
it's it's gonna be. It will be the biggest story
we've ever had here, including a super Bowl win. It
just will be. It's gonna be massive. This is a great,
great basketball city, community and state.
Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
Yeah, and there will be scars even when we do.
When they do come back, people will be put off
by how long it took the process of leaving right
everything that's happening now. I understand that the longer it takes,
every single day, longer it takes, less people will fully
embrace it. I understand that I still think it's going
to be an overwhelming majority of people that will fully
(01:07:13):
embrace this team.
Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
London EANs seem to be forgetting or not appreciate that
bringing new teams in necessit states splitting future revenues more ways.
Human Marketing has talked about this calculus in public many times.
Correct didn't forget that. I don't know John. I don't
think John did either. But thirty two, when you especially
when you add Media Market thirteen to a league that
(01:07:35):
already has far too many small market teams, that will
pay off in the long run for you, that will
pay off in the long run. This Media market twelve
or thirteen, whatever we are right now, Seattle will help
the NBA immensely. Yes, for the first time, you got
to split revenues, kind of like when the teams went
to the Big ten or the a Big twelve or whatever.
(01:07:56):
Right the ACC You're not getting a full share because
don't want to split the money. The NBA owners will
see that money in the next TV deal and then
send They just will. Finally, the only benefit from the
pandemic was Georgetown had to can ship and sell Bob's
Brown Ale Man. That was good stuff. First time they
had to can Manny's too. Yeah, they're never going to
can Manny's or Bob's again, I don't think, but Manny's
(01:08:19):
is the beer they give the bars. They want to
support the bar industry and the restaurant industry, which I
love that about them. And Bob's Brown Ale we had
they had to do it that year in twenty twenty.
That's that's the year we first started the mayor IPA.
We did a lot of different things that year, but
go buy a pint or a growler Bob's Brown Ale
at Georgetown. It helps support the Ronald McDonald House, Charities
of Western Washington and Alaska, etc. David Maler Softy joins us.
Speaker 8 (01:08:44):
Next down to Jimmy's on first.
Speaker 1 (01:09:01):
Are you there today and tomorrow?
Speaker 9 (01:09:03):
Yes, I'm talking to you, by the way, I should be.
I like coming here. It's fun.
Speaker 1 (01:09:08):
Well, if you're gonna be there tomorrow, maybe I'll go
there tomorrow.
Speaker 11 (01:09:10):
Yeah, why don't you come on down? They have a
brand new where is this thing? I'm gonna looking up
your hang on just a second, just talking.
Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
About Jackson says you're not there tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:09:18):
By the way, you know you're not there tomorrow, you know.
I how about if you let me know later if
you're there to call? Okay, let me know tomorrow.
Speaker 11 (01:09:25):
They have a brand new bacon maple whistle pig, old
fashioned cocktail bacon fat wash, six year whistle pig Bourbon,
maple bitters house orange bitters, and I just had it
and it's freaking unbelievable.
Speaker 9 (01:09:40):
You gotta come down here for this thing.
Speaker 1 (01:09:41):
Well, can you do your show there tomorrow?
Speaker 9 (01:09:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:09:44):
I think so.
Speaker 1 (01:09:45):
Okay, Well, if you're there, I'll be there do whatever
I want. If you're there, I'll be there.
Speaker 9 (01:09:48):
I'm like Ron Bergerdy, I'm kind of a big deal.
Speaker 1 (01:09:50):
Kind of a big deal. Well, no, the big deal
is doing the show and tend to one there tomorrow
because I know. That's why I'm asking, because I know
Mark is here.
Speaker 4 (01:09:56):
Mark.
Speaker 11 (01:09:56):
Yeah, you come down tomorrow. Yeah, and then I'll come
out for you tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:10:00):
Okay, Yeah, all right, all right, it just depends on uh,
like the big Boss says, I'll check what the powers
to be surple sheet.
Speaker 7 (01:10:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:10:08):
Yeah, he's got other stuff to do these days.
Speaker 11 (01:10:10):
You think he even knows who we are anymore? Actually
dealing with the music stations all that stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
Like when you say who we are, like you and
me and rate.
Speaker 9 (01:10:18):
Like talk radios beneath him.
Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
Now, Well, we won't say that. I think it's just
you and I are because we've been here for a while,
so we're just kind of, you know, those guys like
he does.
Speaker 11 (01:10:26):
He does put all of his efforts into his shiny
new toys.
Speaker 1 (01:10:29):
The new toys is what you're talking about. Yeah, I mean,
MJ's a new toy. Is jubil still a new toy?
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (01:10:35):
Yeah, I would say so.
Speaker 11 (01:10:36):
I'd say anything in this century would be a new toy.
You and me go back, you know, pre date two thousand.
By the way, I'm looking at two different kinds of
Yankee fans here at Jimmy's, like, Okay, what do they
look like? One who knows what he's doing and one
who has no idea what he's doing?
Speaker 9 (01:10:49):
And this kind of bugs me.
Speaker 11 (01:10:51):
Every time the Yankees come to town, there's always somebody
wearing one of these throwback Yankee jerseys, but they've got the.
Speaker 2 (01:10:58):
Name on the by you were going, Yes, I knew
you were going there.
Speaker 9 (01:11:02):
I mean, let me ask you a question.
Speaker 11 (01:11:04):
If a dude walked into Jimmy's on first with the
New York Yankees number seven jersey, would you know the
player he's representing?
Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
Yes, because it's retired.
Speaker 11 (01:11:13):
Okay, thank you, and so and he and that guy
who's Mickey Mantle by the way, never ever, one time
had his name on the back of his jersey, not
on no as a member.
Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
There is the guy wearing the number seven jersey's in
Jimmy's right now. Does he have like his own little
softball nickname like Big Mick or something on it?
Speaker 9 (01:11:29):
He might, he might.
Speaker 11 (01:11:30):
But the guy wearing the number seven Mantle jersey is
sitting right next to the guy wearing the number ninety nine,
Aaron Judge jerseys. There is no name on the back
of the ninety nine, okay, because that's the way they
do it in New York.
Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
Great move by Aaron Judge to get ninety nine exact.
Everyone knows exactly. That's right number.
Speaker 1 (01:11:46):
He's just like the great one man. Just like have
you ever stood next to Aaron Judge. He's down there,
I have exaners goes down there and cover you're.
Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
Coming down here today, Andrews probably not exad to do
the postgame show.
Speaker 9 (01:11:57):
Okay, gotcha. Yeah, it's just too much work, right.
Speaker 1 (01:11:59):
Yeah, it's a lot. It's a lot for you to
be home year. He's sixty seven.
Speaker 9 (01:12:05):
He's the same size as Jimmy Graham.
Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
He's literally as a baseball player.
Speaker 9 (01:12:10):
Wow, I saw him. I think it was it was
last year or two years ago, whatever year it was.
Speaker 11 (01:12:14):
I was down there, it is what kind of walk
right behind the batting cage, and he came walking by
me and I looked up and.
Speaker 9 (01:12:18):
I swore to God, my neck hurt.
Speaker 2 (01:12:20):
Wow.
Speaker 11 (01:12:20):
He is what he might be the biggest baseball player
I've ever seen in my life.
Speaker 1 (01:12:25):
How big was ever? How big was like Dave Parker
back in the day, do you remember? I don't think
he was that big because remember he seemed like a
giant amongst you know, the boys back then. I bet
he was like six for him and looked at it,
but handle was considered Dave Parker.
Speaker 11 (01:12:38):
Yeah, Mickey Manner was considered a big guy. Dave Parker
was six five two thirty. Aaron Judge is like six
seven to.
Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
Eighty yeah, damn, okay, Wow, he's like James.
Speaker 9 (01:12:47):
Yeah, it's ridiculous big. He's listed at six seven to
eighty two.
Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
I think he just got on base again. He's only
four times last night. Yeah, and the one time he
wasn't on base, I thought he hit it out when
he hit it to right field, Like I was like,
oh that guy just one armed, one over the fence
and right field, and they're like, yeah, not here if
it's if it was a Yankee, stadim would have been
a home run, which.
Speaker 11 (01:13:06):
Jimmy Braham is listed at or was listed at six
seven two sixty five.
Speaker 9 (01:13:10):
So he's actually bigger.
Speaker 1 (01:13:11):
Than fifteen pounds heavier.
Speaker 9 (01:13:13):
Wow, same same height, biggeran Jimmy Graam.
Speaker 11 (01:13:15):
I just wonder in our lifetime are we going to
see a seven foot baseball player?
Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
God kind of doubt it. Right, if you're seven feet
you're probably playing hoops. Somebody's got you in an au
gym all the time.
Speaker 11 (01:13:24):
I mean, why not? Honestly, Like, you know, the new
seven feet in the NBA is seven four.
Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
Well, when's your next Basegas Wemby, when's your next baseball? Guest?
Who's your next baseball?
Speaker 9 (01:13:34):
JEFS Nelson will join us at three twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (01:13:36):
Today, asked Nell. Well, Nell, he's like six five, right, Yes,
he's a big so at some point he wasn't just pitching,
he played.
Speaker 6 (01:13:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:13:44):
Victor Webbin Yama, by the way, is seven three two
thirty five and he looks like he's about seven eight.
Speaker 1 (01:13:49):
What I'm what I'm curious about this with with Nelly
because he would know, like like with a guy that's
that big and long, like you would think the swing right,
you know, there's about swing speed all that. Doesn't it
take long her? It seems like that would be a
disadvantage to be.
Speaker 2 (01:14:02):
Longer strike zone exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:14:04):
Ask Nell me about that. You see a seven flooter.
Speaker 11 (01:14:07):
Like jose L Tuvay right, doesn't strike out a lot.
His strike zone is you know, the size of you know.
Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
And he still swings head.
Speaker 9 (01:14:14):
Yes, we Willie Keeler remember him back in the day?
Speaker 1 (01:14:17):
Who is the guy that Bill put in there? The
short person? Remember that?
Speaker 9 (01:14:22):
The midget?
Speaker 1 (01:14:22):
Well yeah, sure if you want to say they.
Speaker 11 (01:14:24):
Caught him midgets back in the day or dwarves or
circus acts.
Speaker 1 (01:14:28):
Okay, whatever one of these days. Well luckily, luckily, can
I not say that? I don't know, I don't know,
I don't know the world we live in?
Speaker 9 (01:14:38):
Any dwarf? Can you say? Dwarf?
Speaker 1 (01:14:41):
Sure not? You just did.
Speaker 9 (01:14:44):
Saulted palk?
Speaker 1 (01:14:47):
What money and you got it? You're the movie podcaster?
Speaker 9 (01:14:53):
You're smoking?
Speaker 1 (01:14:54):
Does Andrew Jackson.
Speaker 9 (01:14:56):
Jackson knows the movie.
Speaker 11 (01:14:57):
I'm talking about it again, Salted Bulk, you're schmucking and feasting.
Speaker 2 (01:15:04):
Austin Powers.
Speaker 9 (01:15:05):
Built for short distances.
Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
Austin Powers. Thanks for the Scottish like accent.
Speaker 9 (01:15:11):
Believe heard of the King?
Speaker 1 (01:15:12):
Absolutely awful access. Wrong with you? All right? What do
you got coming up besides his nelly?
Speaker 9 (01:15:16):
You know what? I'm taking your nerd card away?
Speaker 4 (01:15:17):
Man?
Speaker 11 (01:15:17):
Yeah, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
Sorry.
Speaker 11 (01:15:21):
Tuesday, Tuesday Nelson will be John Wilner, j Larry Stone.
Good day to have Larry on there with the Pete
Roads stuff coming down. Huh yes, my god, he still
has a Hall of Fame vote. Does he get that
even though he retired or is that gone?
Speaker 1 (01:15:33):
I would there's guys that haven't covered the Major League
baseball for twenty.
Speaker 11 (01:15:36):
Years, a divisious coach on a softball team, and he
still votes.
Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
Yeah, right right, Well, my buddy Kenzano's gotten one. He
covered the Aes for like one year, has been in
Portland for thirty. So yeah, I'm sure he saw Stony.
Speaker 11 (01:15:47):
A lot of there's a lot of Heisman voters that
don't cover college football.
Speaker 9 (01:15:50):
I guarantee you, yes.
Speaker 1 (01:15:51):
Yeah, all right, so that's what they might not have
voted for Travis Hunter. All right, that's good. We're out
of here. See you, Okay. Bye for the mild, manner
and marginally objectionable e Inverness. This is paddle day, saying
so long everyone,
