Beaches Turks and Keiko's talking to Christy Upton about weddings
and celebrations here at Beaches Turks. Christie, thanks for joining me.

I have to tell you the first thing I saw
when I got into my room. I looked out the window.
There's somebody getting married on the beach.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
I know, is it anything more beautiful than walking down
that beach for your aisle?
Speaker 1 (00:24):
I gotta tell you too, I even saw the celebration afterwards.
Tell me a little bit more about how someone can
make that magic happen.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
I mean, they make it absolutely flawless here. They have
pree coordinators for you. All you have to do is
pick up the phone and get in touch with them,
start asking questions. They have somebody that's going to kind
of walk you through that process, and then they set
you up with a wedding coordinator ahead of time, and
you'll have zooms and look through you know, planning guides
and inspiration. And then of course they have their on

resort staff too that just make the process completely stress free.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
I saw the party and they were dancing, and they
had all the flowers and the food it just I
almost crashed the wedding, but I thought I thought about
that a few So you don't have to just get married.
You can renew your valves too, correct.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
So many different type of celebrations starting even with proposals.
They have some some really unique celebration proposals. Surprise, if
you want to, you can renew your vows. You can
do a baby moon. You can do you know, a
large multi generational trip and make it a celebration.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
So could you explain because I actually had a guy
the other day his wife's pregnant, and he came to
me and he goes, you got to help me what
the heck's of baby moon?
Speaker 2 (01:35):
So I'd say it's not really new concept, but like
new mainstream concept, but like that last big milestone before
you become a family, you know, and it's just the
two of you in a special and romantic time. But
you know, there's something really cute that Beaches does. Okay,
and it is a like cravings package, so you could
have like, you know, all those typical pregnancy cravings delivered
(01:58):
to your room at like schedule times. It just makes
it really fun.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
I love that so much.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
So how can someone book this so I mean I'm
a travel advisor, Okay, so I highly recommend that they
book through a travel advisor. But that's also kind of
adds like another layer. Right, So you have the support
of the wedding's department, the celebrations department, but then you
have someone coordinating the travel and really just lets it
be a true celebration for you. Yeah, and remove all

the stress right, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
And that is one of the things if you're having
any kind of celebration that is a big part of
it is the stress of planning it.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
It is it really is an honestly just travel portion
of travel, right, Like the air travel, the getting to
and from the airport is what stress out most people.
So like, let somebody else deal with that and then
you can just arrive on resort and enjoy the destination.
If you can hear some crazy noise in the background,
a storm just blew up on us.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
We're actually broadcasting. We're not we're covered, but we are outside.
So even in Turks and Keikos, you do get a
little rain shower. But do you know what they call
that here? No, what do they call it? Liquid sunshine?
It is because in about five minutes it'll be gone.
I will, So tell me about your nonprofit.

So a few years ago we started a five to
one C three to give back travel. The reason I
got into travel was to create memories for people, and
I wanted to take that a step further, so we
started the nonprofit. We gifted a full wedding this year,
destination wedding, a honeymoon, and then we also did a
family trip to Beaches Negrill for a woman battling breast cancer,

and an amazing family started and gave us a large
donation to kind of kick it off. And so we
do that in her name, for Erica Pofford, And it's
just a great way, and anybody can be nominated. Family, friend,
coworker can send us a letter with your story, OK,
and then my thirty eight agents, I'll vote on who
we think should be the next recipient, and it's fully
(03:49):
paid for. You just get to go create amazing memories.
